Regardless of what anyone says, if you give politicians a 1% tax for 10
years, they are not going to give it up easily when the sunset date arrives. The
only important enough project on the list for considering a 'yes vote' is the
military park near the I-185 exit at Ft Benning, BUT we can hound Council to
earmark dollars out of the infrastructure portion of the latest LOST to float a
bond to get that done quickly. To boot, almost 1/3 of that will be paid for by
out-of-county/state consumers.

for underachieving children and hold their parents accountable. " -- Don't hold
you breath on the MCSD allowing that! Allowing that? Yes, the MCSD has too many
programs that take over the role of the students' parents. Busing students to
and from school and day care and home, feeding students free breakfast and lunch
(basically year round) and after-school snacks/meal, and furnishing some
students backpacks of school supplies.

New stadium? The Olympic softball games were held in
hysterically revamped Golden Park, and the results have hindered baseball and
outdoor concerts ever since. More money was spent on a band-aid fix of Golden
Park than it would have cost to build a new and better suited complex at a new
location. The new softball stadium at South Commons was not built until after
the 1996 Olympics.

I knew, I liked, Willy Bowman.. knew him for years
as I was an avid baseball fan up until the hysterical remodeling of Golden Park.
Had season tickets in the box seats abutting the home dugout. Bought many bags
of peanuts from Willy, and shared many a light moment with him. He was
definitely a welcome sight as I entered the stadium, but a spot in the CV Sports
Hall of Fame... NOT! Lieutenant at Dinglewood would get my vote for the first
food vendor to be considered for the CV Sports Hall of Fame. He served me many
of pre-game meals that I would bet was the reason I played pretty good over my
years at Columbus High. Lets wait a year
or two and digest the info before reacting to it emotionally, then make an
evaluation. Also knew Glenn Davis when he was a mere pup of
a baseball player. Glenn definitely earned his spot!

Alabama has passed a law allowing for bigger bottles
of beer to be sold, and stores are buying new coolers to accommodate such. My
question is that since driving with an open container, and driving while under
the influence of alcohol are pretty much laws in every state, then why are
liquor/convenience stores allowed to sell cold beer, especially singles to
anyone, but especially at drive-thru windows?
