Online story: "It members of Congress are flying around the globe a whole lot more, and you're the one paying for it. * According to a report in USA Today, From November 2015 through November 2016, taxpayers paid for more than 550 trips that cost more than $10,000 each. This is all part of a dramatic increase in Congressional travel.-- Wanna put a stop to this.. let Trump know it's "OK" if Congress wants to travel on the taxpayers dime, but.. BUT, he can cut the initial expense by allowing only 1-way fares, and AND we get a bonus in future saving because "they" want be in Washington to spend MORE of our money on government programs!

---
Online story: "A respected historian from France was detained for 10 hours by immigration agents at a Texas airport. * Rousso is an expert on post-World War I France and the Holocaust. He was traveling to the U.S. to speak at symposium at Texas A&M University. *  He had a valid tourist visa allowing him to visit the U.S. and accept a $2,000 payment for his speaking engagement. * Rousso told the Houston Chronicle: "No question, I'll be a little reluctant to come back, even if I love this country." -- "reluctant to come back"? Well, I guess so.. especially when he realized the check for 12,391 French Francs was worth on $2,000.00 American dollars.. yet Hellary would probably have been paid $200,000,00 dollars or 1,239, 174 French Francs.

---
Online headline: "Rachel Dolezal, white woman who identifies as black, now jobless, may soon be homeless" -- You know.. she was once the successful leader of the Spokane NAACP chapter . Being ousted is a blight on the NAACP's pertinence.. she may not have been black, but she is colored.. white is a color, too.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Group petitions Barack Obama to run for president of France" -- Hummm.. Maybe the working class will petition Trump to buy the Elysee Palace in Paris so Obama wouldn't have a place to live.

---
The DNC chair race just proves again that to Democrats..black doesn't matter..at least not as much as GREEN! Perez was backed by Obama and the Clintons.

---
Americans' wealth has increased by $3 TRILLION DOLLARS since Trump's election .. Americans' 401K and private pension plans have buoyed working Americans' spirits..Of course, mainscream media has ignored this as have Democrats. Too bad Social Security plans have not grown..but blame Democrats ..particularly Algore and his "lockbox" (and remember the man who was given the one talent and buried it).

---
Mainscream media gasped when Connecticut's governor signed into law that anyone with a proper gun license can carry it concealed. Why is mainscream media more upset that law abiding gun owners can carry concealed weapons than mainscream media is about criminals carrying guns at all.

---
Nancy Pelosi said Trump has done nothing his first month in office. You know, this really explains OObamaCRAP...it wasn't a matter of not reading it, obviously..Pelosi can't read at all!

---
How compassionate is it really for liberals to want illegal aliens in our country just to work low paying laborer jobs so that they can enjoy lower cost organic grapes to make wine?

---
Online story: "(Columbus Mayor Tom-LYING-son) says the city is being remade because of big, bold audacious ideas. She boasts that only last year the Columbus Consolidated Government was named one of the 50 best-run cities in the whole country." -- Interesting.. just this past December, WTVM9 ran a story showing Columbus was one of the financially worst run cities in America.. Believe I'// believe the WTVM9 story rather than Tom-LYING-son's.

---
From the "proof is in the pudding" department - Online headline/story: "Georgia among top 10 states that take most from your paycheck * Taxes can snatch out a big chunk of your paycheck, but some places take more than others. In fact, Georgia is one of them, ranking No. 8 for states where workers clear the least amount on pay day. " -- I do believe this nails Tom-LYING-son's claims about how ell run the city is versus WTVM9's facts about Columbus' financial woes.

---
Related headline/story to above: "Bill to slash state income tax rate moving through the Georgia House * Georgia House leaders are moving to lower the state’s top income tax rate in what could be an important first step toward significant reductions in how much Georgians pay. * A new report said the first step, House Bill 329, would save Georgians about $154 million a year, with three-quarters of that savings going to those earning more than $97,000 a year." -- Hmmm.. sponsored by Powell, Kelley, Williamson, Harrell, Blackmon, and Stephens...  absent is our local 133rd Rep John Pezold .. after trying so hard to RAISE homeowners'  property taxes, guess it wouldn't sit well with Tom-LYING-son and the other Democrats to sponsor a tax cut.. of course, Pezold hasn't stepped up in opposition yet, but who could blame him.. the tax cuts primarily benefit people making $97,000.00 a year or more.. especially the "or more".

---
Online headline/story: "Energy regulator warns new bill would kill solar in Georgia * House Bill 479, sponsored by Rep. Don Parsons, R-Marietta, chairman of the House Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee, would prohibit the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) from dictating the energy mix utilities use to generate electricity." -- Good grief, now we have to have one group of politician struggling with another group of politicians about who knows more than God!

---
From the "Democrat mayors must go to Economic DOH! classes" department -- Online headline/story: "Distributors say layoffs coming because of Philly soda tax *  Two months into Philadelphia’s 1.5 cents PER OUNCE soda tax, distributors are reporting 30-50 percent declines in sales and saying that hundreds of layoffs are coming. *  ShopRite told Philly.com that it will have to lay off 300 workers, while one of the largest distributors said it will have to slash 20 percent of its workforce. *  The soda tax comes on top of the existing 8 percent sales tax, adding $2.16 to the cost of 12-pack of soda. * Mayor Jim Kenney said the companies are being greedy for passing the cost of the tax onto consumers instead of reducing their bottom lines." -- The mayor said what! That businesses that don't absorb the tax are "greedy"?  I guess he really means that governments that raise taxes on consumers are not.. Let's pray that by 2018.. 2020 at the latest, that liberals protesting Trump's good business practices in government have completely imploded so we don't have to deal with the possibility of getting another Democrat mayor in Columbus!

---
Online story: "The Trump administration plans to abandon the federal government's longstanding opposition to a key portion of Texas' toughest-in-the-nation voter ID law, a U.S. Justice Department spokesman said Monday. * It's a dramatic break from the agency under President Barack Obama, which spent years arguing that the 2011 voter ID law that Texas' Republican-controlled Legislature passed was intended to disenfranchise poor and minority voters." -- "dramatic break"? Yeah.. it supports the US Constitution so that actual citizen's votes are the only ones that count.. maybe checking voter rolls against death notices and closed Social Security Accounts will be next.

---
Online headline/story: "Gov. Sununu blasts senators for opposing Electoral College * CONCORD, N.H. —
Gov. Chris Sununu says it is “appalling” and “indefensible” that Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan favor replacing the Electoral College with the popular vote for choosing presidents in the future" -- Thank goodness we don't have a woman president, to, who does not know .. or seemingly care.. that they swore an oath to represent all the people, and DEFEND the Constitution.

---
Well-stated L-E "soundoff": "With all the success claimed by the TV lawyers in their commercials, it seems they could rely on word of mouth for business and eliminate all those irritating ads." -- Bravo... and to think at one time lawyers COULDN'T advertise.. and I supported their right to do so.. guess that was my flaw in my 99.99% "right on target" messaging.

---
From the "nails it wrongly" department: LIV's L-E "soundoff": "First Amendment freedom of the press includes, ironically, the right to openly lie and distort facts to advance a political agenda that is contrary to the Constitution." -- Tis not why the 1st Amendment was written.. our Founding Fathers wanted to guarantee our press could print the truth.. little did our Founding Father's envision liberals being in charge of our education system would distort this intended purpose to our Journalism students.

---
L-E headline: "Complaint filed over city’s SPLOST spending" -- Yes... it's a can of worms down at Tom'LYING-son's Tower.. on the other hand, maybe  we can get a suit filed over the MCSD's SPLOST spendings as well.. slad/metal buildings for wrestling/weight rooms CANNOT cost $312.00+ a square ft, and how can $300,000.00 be spent on "softball field improvements for Columbus High School when CHS doesn't even HAVE a softball field.. a public park field belonging to the City is the field they use. Hmmm.. hough after hearing the MCSB has approved over $900,000.00 to buy and improve property as a 50-60 car parking lot at CHS.. $300,000.00 for a non-existent softball field doesn't sound as bad.

---

L-E headline: "BlueCross BlueShield office in Columbus still waiting on a buyer" -- well.. if Trump straightens out OObamaCRAP as expected, Blue Cross Blue Shield can probably move back into that facility.. it'll have no reason to keep the extra 400 paper-shuffling jobs it had to add to handle OObamaCRAP, so  BCBS won't need the extra space at Technology Center.

Online story: "Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly presented the Best Picture trophy to "La La Land," before "La La Land" producer Josh Horowitz revealed "Moonlight" to be the true winner. " -- Hmmm... I guess it will only be fitting if "the Academy"  changes the name of the statuette from "Oscar" to "Steve Harvey" next year.

---
Revisiting a story from last week - Online headline: "Kellyanne Conway blasted by the president of her alma mater " -- Hmmm .. let's see.. would you rather be blasted by the liberal president of a liberal college... or... would you rather be praised by the president of the United States, and have your niche in history preserved by being the first female campaign manager to elect a president, and have a wonderful family to come home to?

---
It must be nice to be a RINO in North Columbus.. no Democrat is going to challenge you because you are already one of them,.. Smile John Pezold..

You know.. the only time we hear from John Pezold is when he's trying to raise our taxes or out to protect his family's hotel businesses.

---
L-E headline/story: "Late-night Facebook post from Myers prompted teacher to speak out * "“I see some of the posts that some of the board members might put out there," Elliott said, "and calling a school in this district horrible based on one score should not be tolerated. -- Excuse me, but when the GA school system provides the test and curriculum or this test, we have the right to make judgement when a school FAILS!

---
Hey, Columbus...Those mini, serve-yourself libraries set up by Together2016.... Any reports about how well they are working...or if they are still standing?

---
And as long as we have out thinking caps on, does anyone remember..and have any info about the sudden dismissal of Rusty Oliver as the girls soccer coach at Columbus High last year?

---
Looks like the DNC just waged a war on women..Last year, Debbie Washerwoman Schultz (then Donna Brazile), and Hellary ran the Democrats, and now two men are now in control.

---
Mainscream media's real problem with Trump could be solved by simply reporting the truth in their news presentations..but of course, that's not going to happen...and not because mainscream doesn't want to do so, but because mainscream media simply doesn't know what the truth is anymore.

---
You know..hearing the parking project at Columbus High will cost more than $900,000.00 is mindboggling... but I guess it sounds reasonable to folks who think erecting slab construction metal buildings costing more than $312.00 a square ft is reasonable.

---
Online headline/story: "Trump says he won't attend White House Correspondents' Dinner * "I will not be attending the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner this year. Please wish everyone well and have a great evening!," Trump wrote on Twitter." -- Brilliant! Trump just deflated mainscream media, liberals/RINOs, and Hollywood in one sentence. Trump just told them they can dress up in their finest but they have nowhere to go. On the other hand, I hope Trump plans a gala that same night at Trump International for his supporters.

---
With  Tom Perez and Keith Ellison as the face of the Democratic Party, the DNC now just looks angry and desperate...

---
From the "maybe I should really look ahead more" department - Online headline: "Casey Affleck slams Trump administration's 'abhorrent' policies in Spirit Awards Speech" -- Casey who? ummm  Ben's baby brother? You know.. when Hollywood (_*_)-listers trash Trump, they are also trashing Trump's supporters...and, at the costs involved in going to a movie theses days,  I think Hollywood has forgotten that the "Deplorables" are probably the audience they should be appealing to...and we vote with our wallets when it comes to entertainment.

---
From the "suspicions confirmed" department - Online headline: "Gretchen Carlson in talks to join MSNBC, sources say" Well it's always been a joke when discussing MSNBC, but now it becomes reality.. the network will now achieve its "PMSNBC" recognition.

---
Heard that Dan DeVito  met and fawned over Obama after his NY Broadway play.. You know, I use to admire DeVito because he made a career out of being "short", but now I think he's just ruined his career by being "small".

---
Online story: "According to a survey of 500 current college students conducted by LendEDU, a private firm that connects students and their families with student loans and loan refinancing, 49.8 percent believe they would be able to receive federal forgiveness on their student loans after graduation." -- Good grief.. now we know for sure what colleges are teaching our kids.. and why colleges won't talk to us parents about how our children are doing in college.

---
From the "how can we word the headline and story so it looks like we're not covering up the truth" department - L-E Headline/story: "Student test scores improved last year * The statistics for this year’s are based on the 2016 results of the state’s standardized tests, called the Georgia Milestones Assessment System, compared to the 2015 results. *  The SGP indicates how much a student’s academic performance has improved. *  The percentiles range from 1 as the lowest growth to 99 as the highest growth. The SGP is divided into three categories: Low Growth (1-34), Typical Growth (35-65) and High Growth (66-99). The SGP allows all students to demonstrate growth, regardless of their achievement level. *  MCSD awarded five places among its 32 elementary schools and three places among its 12 middle schools and nine high schools." --  " The SGP allows all students to demonstrate growth, regardless of their achievement level."?  ... hmmmm.. then why not mention which category each of the schools are in? It's bad enough that not every school in the MCSD showed some improvement, but not showing the actual student numbers that improved based on the category each school was compared to is just liberalism at its worst.

You know, improvements at Britt David Elementary and Columbus High are impressive.. they are compared to high numbers from the year before.. but any school in the lower category needs to have actual numbers stated in this story.. For example.. a school who had 4 students in last year's figures but now has 7 students in this year's figure would show a 75% increase.. but how about all the other 100's of students in that school?  And I don't even see any recap of how all the schools that have been in the "perpetual failing" status did in this test..

---
L-E headline: "COLUMBUS REHABILITATION * Housing Authority spends $37M to spruce up properties" -- There are two things I'd like to see... 1.. the expense sheet for  each complex, and 2 - the date of the last renovation...

---
L-E headline: "Proposed licenses saying ‘noncitizen’ concern immigrants" -- Well.. they should be MORE CONCERNED about "BEING LEGAL, and working towards US CITIZENSHIP... but I'm concerned about anyone not on a legal track to becoming a US Citizen to be issued a driver's license in the first place.

---
L-E headline: ""Replacing ACA a complicated affair" -- Hmm.. I agree... but then what bill wouldn't be if it was drawn up by the Obama's henchman Jonathan Gruber, and passed by a Democrat-only House/Senate who didn't bother to read it!

---
L-E editorial headline: "EDITORIALS - Did long odds on casino get longer?" --  State Senator Ed Harbison offered the identical wussy politically correct response that John "Benedict Arnold" Pezold did about his vote on the Tax Freeze Assault.. "to let the people vote" The reason we have representatives is because all the people cannot vote on all subject n]matter.. we elect representatives to use good judgement. I guess what Harbison's "plagiarized" response of Pezold's  response is that Mayor Tom-LYING-son wrote out both answers.

---
Online story: " Former U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Sunday urged a major overhaul of his party, calling for more aggressive efforts to court working-class voters and fight big businesses from Wall Street to the pharmaceutical sector." -- You know.. why doesn't the Democratic Party just move to a 3rd World country that thinks like they do?

---
You know.. soldiers in our military are not suppose to follow illegal orders...that should be the philosophy of our law enforcement teams in "sanctuary" cities/states. No mayor or governor should be able to override common sense.

---
L-E headline: "Columbus consumers upbeat on economy after 2016 election" --  Yes! I reckon so.. after 8 years of Obama and 6+ years of Tom-LYING-son, what consumer wouldn't be excited that a president who actually understands economics is calling the shots!

--

I pulled a story on Sunday about an awful statement by a North Carolina teacher/math department chair concerning racial genocide, because, at that time I couldn't be certain that it wasn't a "fake story". Her name is Cynthia Ramsey.. send her an e-mail and tell her you disagree and are praying for her . Chances are, by time this circulates, her e-mail box will be full and/or blocked ( cramsey@camden.k12.nc.us ), so here are the e-mail address of the principal and assistant principal : bberry@camden.k12.nc.us   joliver@camden.k12.nc.us so you  can "copy" to them.

Online headline/story: "Trump asks NASA to explore putting crew on rocket's debut flight * The study will explore what would be gained technically by having a crew aboard sooner." --"what would be gained technically"? technical, smechnical! Good grief.. it's about the rebirth of America's greatness... it's about America's pride and world respect.. Face it, when was the last time you changed your schedule to plan and watch a generic, unmanned space launch? This would change everything!

---
Obama's penchant for golf is only bypassed by his penchant for watching movies..That in mind, I bet he's wondering when Hollywood will be making a trilogy involving his White House years.. I'm afraid he'll find out Hollywood isn't that interested.. Morgan Freeman played a better President than Obama did.

---
Rumor has it Hellary has been approached to be a contestant on "Dancing With The Stars"... I wonder if DWTS has considered it might have to accommodate filming in a prison sometime in the season..

---
Thinking about Hellary being in DWTS, I guess there would be one partner that might attract a crwod for one show.. Bernie.... I say one show because not even Democrats would know which one was suppose to be "leading".

---
I hope McCain and Graham were at the CPAC.... and all the other RINOs as well..and especially the Republican women Senators who voted against Trumps Cabinet nominees. The attendees were not there in support of the Republican establishment.. Trump is why they were there, and it's time the RINOs join the movement.

---
What is it that Democrats "feel" they will gain if their protests did work, and they can oust Trump from the White House? Do they feel Hellary would be elevated as runner-up? Do they feel the Constitutional process no longer applies? Even if Trump becomes incapacitated, Pence would take over and pick up the gauntlet Trump threw down at the liberals and carry out the policies Trump promised!

---
From L-E story: "The White House officials would only discuss the matter on the condition of anonymity." -- Good grief.. no one is going to believe a mainscream media using an "anonymous White House official" anymore.. those days are over .. specially for front page stories!

---
There was an incredibly sweet story about a Down syndrome man who has been working for 25 years at Burger King.. but I noticed that the address was listed as "Gentian Blvd" .  Gentian Blvd is but a short segment that runs between Warm Springs Road and Milgen Roads.. I thought Council was on a campaign to rid map confusion by putting connected segments of roads under one name.. Veterans Parkway was a consolidation of 4th Ave/Beallwood Connector/Hamilton Road.. and 45th Steet was renamed Manchester Expressway. There is rhyme and reason to keep Wynnton/Macon Road as it historically has been, but there's no reason to keep Gentian Blvd as a short segment between two other more well-known arteries.

---
Chicago really knows how to celebrate President Washington's Birthday.. this past one, 7 Chicagoans were killed in a "gunfireworks" display.

---
You know, it's wonderful to see President Trump eager to keep his campaign promises.. especially after 8 years of a president who had no intention of keeping all the promises he made just to get votes.

---
From the "how do liberals like these "apples" department - L-E headline/story: " Transgender boy wins in girls wrestling tournament * CYPRESS, TEXAS *  Mack Beggs won a match at the Texas state championships Friday. But the larger conflict – over whether a 17-year-old transgender boy should be wrestling girls – remained unsettled. * under the state’s governing policy for athletics, students must wrestle against the gender listed on their birth certificates." -- Hmmm.. what's worse is probably when the 17 year old she-it stood in the girls locker room in the nude yelling.. look at me.. I'm a boy!

Now, why didn't Texas demand a drug test for "him".. I do believe "she" would have failed such.

Oh. and when will an also ran PGA golfer declare himself'a girl, and demand to tee off at a LPGA tournament?

HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "President Trump's open door policy *  That's a privilege Politico has found many of Trump's advisers have under a Trump administration and it's pretty unusual. *  Omarosa Manigault, doesn't need to set an appointment to see her boss. * Neither does chief strategist Steve Bannon, senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, chief of staff Reince Priebus, son-in-law Jared Kushner or counselor Kellyanne Conway. * Politico has also learned that even lower-level staffers are given easy access to the president. *  Former President Obama required aides and senior officials to make an appointment." -- Hmmm.. an open door and transparency policy.. now that's the difference in effective leadership.. Now.. did you notice that HuffPOOPOO didn't "poo-poo" Trump for this? Mark Feb 23, 2017 as a turnong point.

---
Online story: "Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has a message for Republican lawmakers who may be using safety concerns as a reason not to hold town halls with their constituents: Suck it up" --  What is that pro-Hellary forces feel they accomplish by going to Congressional town-hall meets  only disruption on their minds? Have they become so numbed by Democratic Party Kool-Aid that they don't recognize when a politician actually wants to hear what they might contribute to America's future?

---
How can any politician expect anyone else to give them credibility when he/she claims to be a " fiscal conservative" and a social "liberal"?  That's akin to telling people your car runs equally well on gas or diesel fuel.

---
The Chicago Public Schools have adopted a new policy that prohibits ICE/Immigration officers from going on school campuses unless ..unless they have a search warrant in hand! Poetic justice would be for a principal to be under assault by a student , and ICE agents simply waving at him to come over and sign a search warrant.

---
Good grief...Earlier this month, I thought I was finally through with WOW cable..I went in, turned in all the cable boxes (including the shipping boxes), stood at the register while my final bill was calculated, then wrote tem a check. Today, I learned that I'm not through yet...A new bill came in, and WOW owes ME $20.56. Now I'm beginning to understand why WOW's service sucked. Now, why didn't WOW just send me a check and be done with it? Will let you know when this happens..

---
Did you hear the vitriolic rhetoric from DNC Chair candidate Larry Ellison..Ellison said Democrats need to open an investigation to impeach Trump "to protect our Constitution"..Good grief, if the Democrats wanted to protect our Constitution, they'd have joined the Republicans in 2009 following the passing of OObamaCRAP and filed impeachment charges as Obama tried to rewrite the Constitution.

---
10 straight record DOW closings...this hasn't happened since the Reagan days in 1987. And what about his business executive summit meeting yesterday morning...you could see the excitement and enthusiasm for America's future!

---
Boy...Mike Pence matched Trump's AM Grand Slam with his CPAC speech last night!

---
From the"unfortunately, we Know what they are smoking" department.- Denver police arrested an illegal Mexican alien for car theft, and when they booked him, ICE contacted the DPD and asked for a "hold", but the DPD said "no", and released him.on bail..an illegal alien was allowed bail on a felony charge.... Now, a couple of weeks later, that illegal alien now has a murder charge against him..If I was a member of the victim's family, I'd start suing every public official involved in setting up Denver's "sanctuary" status.

---
L-E headline: "Special-education parent to school board: ‘Pure ineptness cost my son’" -- Hey, Lisa Jenkins.. where are you.. now.. after all the effort you spent in campaigning for the TSPLOST and re-electing all the school board members!

---
Online headline/story: "NBC enlists a group of school children to make a video trashing Trump" -- Where is the ACLU protecting theses children.. providing a script that no child would construct to "trash Trump" on his/her own and having them read it for political purposes is basically CHILD EXPLORTATION!

---
Yesterday marked 1 month since the GA DOT did it's first work on the River Road/Bradley Park Drive "Roundabout".. of course the GA DOT removed all their equipment a few days later. Since then, the GA DOT has announced that it will be completed within 18 months.. Wanna bet the job want be finished by the time Tom-LYING-son leaves office?

---
"This is US" has taken over as the top TV show.. displacing "The Big Bang THeory"... guess American TV viewers have gotten smarter since Trump won!  BTW, if you haven't watched it, you can get the whole series on HULU and catch up.. watch them all.. especially this weeks episode.. I think this weeks episode o=is one of the best TV shows ever shown!

---
Have you noticed the Democratic Party and mainscream media have been trying ultra-hard to drive wedges between various staff members of Trump's team? I guess the Democrats figured splitting up Republicans would be a lot easier than mending their own problems.

---
Online headline: "Arkansas lawmaker wants airport named after the Clintons renamed" -- Yeah.. who wants to fly into an airport that reminds you of something that is going down?

---
Tell you what.. if transgenders want to use the bthroom of their "choice", then how about providing TSA agents at the door to do a "pat down" to see whether they've had "the surgery".

---
L-E headline/story: "Casino bill hits snag in Senate committee * Both Columbus senators, Republican Josh McKoon and Democrat Ed Harbison, are on the Regulated Industries Committee. Harbison said if it comes to a vote, he will vote to move it out of committee. * “I feel it is my obligation to give the people the chance to vote on this,” Harbison said Thursday morning as he waited for the Senate to begin its work." --  "I feel it is my obligation to give the people the chance to vote on this"? Good grief.. sounds like Harbison took the same "wussy politics" class John :Beendict Arnold" Pezold took before the assault on our property tax freeze. Good grief, man, do what your constituents elected you to do.. vote your good judgement, not YOUR back pocket or campaign chest!

---
To get in the shape the Columbus Consolidated Government is in took effort..maybe it's time we hired some people who want to make "better effort".

---
L-E headline/story: "Residents question plans for state park * Residents filled the City Services Center on Thursday to consider a preliminary plan that would develop nearly 100 of 1,580 acres into Standing Boy Creek State Park at Lake Oliver. *  Aaron St. Pierre of Lose & Associates, a firm with experience in building parks, presented results that included mountain biking at the top of the list. It was followed by disc golf and regular hiking trails, while many of the residents from a June 7 meeting wanted the state to leave the area alone. " -- Who's really behind this... the "Committee to PAVE the Chattahoochee"? When the impetus is to create/restore a "natural area"  so animals can have a "sanctuary", does bringing in recreation-oriented people more interested in "HOOPla"  than wHOOPing Cranes, doesn't seem like a good mix..  Seems like doing so creates nothing but a exhibit  animals can show their offspring why to avoid humans.

---
L-E headline/story: "Plans for smoke-free city raise worries *  Smoking is allowed at Columbus bars and restaurants where access is denied to customers and employees under the age of 18, according to state law.  * It’s also allowed in enclosed rooms at bars and restaurants where a separate air handling system exhausts the air directly outside by a fan of sufficient size.  *  But that could all change under a new local ordinance being drafted by city attorneys at the request of some Columbus councilors. The issue emerged at a Jan. 31 Columbus Council work session, where a local group called the Breathe Easy Columbus Coalition asked councilors to make Columbus a smoke-free city. They even provided a model ordinance used by other municipalities. *  “Our primary mission is to work with our community as we move toward a smoke-free environment — particularly at work sites and public places,” said Perry Alexander, co-chair of the organization." --  Bet this group was also.. and still is.. in favor of OObamaCRAP ( and marijuana use).. and attempts to use "feel good" laws to strip everyday citizens for having a "voice in their choice" over use of a legal product. Mandatory abstention by such  as fines or penalty taxes is fascism!  The reality is that businesses that already have "smoke free" environments can advertise such as a reason for people to dine with them. Wonder if Dr Bob Wright has looked at having a "smoke free" casino?

FTR. I quit smoking cigarettes in 1991 and cigars in 2002. I did so voluntarily to support my brides decision to quit cigarette smoking. I will not go back, but I do not chastise others for doing so. My only objection to smokers is the ones that smoke OUTSIDE or in their cars, and flip their butts onto the ground.. I would suggest that our police officers enforce the anti-littering lasw on the books, but judges and juries seem to poo-poo law enforcement attempts.

Thursday, February 23, 2017

Let's talk "gas" taxes .. particularly Georgia.. gasoline in GA 18.4-cents per gallon in federal taxes, 31-cents in State taxes, and if you're buying in Columbus, add another 4-cents a gallon.. In other words, the first 53.4-cents.. per gallon.. is for taxes.. so if you put in 20 gallons, you just forked over $10.68.. I grew up when $10.68 would 30 to 40 GALLONS of gas (and more if a "gas war" were in effect). You would think that for that much  every time you pump in 20 gallons, we'd have pot-hole free roads.. Most of GA DOES... in fact, the percentage of "roadway in sub-optimal condition is "only 19%" which is 2nd best in the country. After driving around Columbus dodging such pot-holes, I firmly believe Columbus is primarily responsible for the 19% of the roads in "sub-optimal condition".

Online headline: "The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, ruled Tuesday that the Second Amendment doesn't apply to protections of assault weapons in Maryland." -- You know.. I can support a ban on "assault" weapons... of course, the Appeals Court  has not defined .. satisfactorily.. to me, what is an "assault weapon".. I look at fully automatic guns as assault weapons.. not just guns that look like them. I consider machetes and long bladed knives in the hands of jihadists "assault weapons, but not the gold penknife passed down to me by my grandfather that deputies manning the doors at our Government Center want to confiscate. I consider baseball bats in the hands of a street gangs "assault weapons" but not my 1906 Louisville Slugger Ty Cobb gave my grand father. And now, I'm rethinking by objection to fully automatic guns.. With street gangs and jihadists  running around the streets that the police cannot (or in some cities, ORDERED not to) frisk, I may need  fully automatic guns for my bride and me to protect my home.

Walmart objects to a "border tax" with Mexico, and I'm sure Walmart would really object if all their ships from China were hit with a similar tax.. but it's not because Walmart  is concerned about increasing clothing prices to the consumer..No, Walmart is concerned about a dip in it's "margins" that pad the bottom line,, and the bonuses that pad the pockets of it's executives..and do you wana bet whether any of the executives buy clothing at Walmart?

Online headline: "Poll: Republicans more concerned by leaks than Trump's Russia ties" -- DOH! Now, if we could only get mainscream media and Democrats to focus on the "leaks" as well.

Online story: "It may not be “All the News That’s Fit to Print,” but The Washington Post is featuring a new motto on its website: “Democracy Dies in Darkness.” -- Hmmm. I can see why the WaPo would not want to associate itself with the NYT slogan, "All the news that's fit to print", as the NYT has destroyed that concept, but I cannot understand why Jeff Bezos would adopt such an ambiguous and cryptic slogan. Think about it... Democracy DOES die in DARKNESS... the darkness created by back room deals, and  by a press that more interested in agenda than the truth..

Online headline/story: "Ex-Guantanamo Detainee Jamal Al-Harith Became Suicide Bomber: Reports * A former Guantanamo Bay inmate who won a compensation after suing over his detention reportedly carried out a suicide bombing at a military base in Iraq. * A statement released by the militant group said a fighter it identified as Abu Zakariya al-Britani was behind a truck attack near Mosul on Sunday. * NBC News has confirmed that the family of Jamal al-Harith identified him as the man in the picture distributed by ISIS that is said was al-Britani. * Al-Harith was one of 16 men who subsequently sued the British government, alleging that it was aware of or complicit in their treatment while in U.S. custody. * The group received a cash settlement in 2010, but details of the exact amount of individual payments are unclear.*  However, NBC News has been unable to verify whether the attack actually occurred." -- "NBC News has been unable to verify whether the attack actually occurred"?  Good grief.. when was the last time "facts" ever determined whether NBC  ran a story or not?

---
You know, before any mainscream report is made belittling a Trump plan be aired/published, the reporter should have to reference an Obama action that actually benefited our nation, and followed our Constitution's directives.

---
Online headline/story: "McCain makes secret trip to Syria as US debates new plans to fight Islamic State * McCain makes secret trip to Syria as US debates new plans to fight Islamic State" -- Good grief.. how does mainscream media not know "when/where" McCain was? Oh, and if the pro-Hellary anarchist ever wanted to make a truthful statement, they have missed this chance to scream.. #McCain... NOT MY PRESIDENT!

---
Online headline/story: "Senate may force Trump to turn over tax returns * U.S. Sen. Susan Collins said on Wednesday she’s open to using a subpoena to investigate President Donald Trump’s tax returns for potential connections to Russia. * Collins was asked if the committee would subpoena Trump, who’s also a Republican" -- Collins is a Republican?  I believe she lost all claim to that when she voted against Trump's Secretary of Education... besides.. where in the Constitution.. or in added options to run for office, is it required to give your tax returns to anybody but the IRS..

---
Online headline: "Canada sees spike in border crossers coming from US" -- Well.. does Canada expect the US to build a wall there? No way! The US is certainly better off when liberals vacate OUR land. Hey,, were any of those the Hollywood celebs that promised to do so if Trump won...

---
Online headline: "San Bernardino terror victims say county falling short on providing treatment" -- Looks like we've been limiting the use of OObamaCRAP to  healthcare.. OObamaCRAP pretty much encompasses his entire 8 years in office.

Now Mexico is concerned about deportees from other countries being returned to Mexico by the US... hmmm, Mexico should have thought about this BEFORE collecting fees at its Southern border and allowing others from cutting through to get to the US.

You know, driving by what is a "virtually completed" GA DOT project here in Columbus, and taking in the visual site results, there ought to be a law added so that "Keep Columbus Beautifu"l and "Trees Columbus" must sound off their approval BEFORE the project manager leaves the site.

---
Just listen to Trump's meeting yesterday pretty much exposed the problem with mainscream media. They don't listen..All of them sit paused and ready to pounce with questions they've been formulating in their heads when they should have been listening to what actually was being said.

---
Think about it..why do we homeowners have to pay more for sewage fees than our water usage. The amount of fluids (et al) we send back to the "system" is considerably less than what we consume for other usages.

One of Schumer's spinmeisters said that if all illegal aliens who could be deported were, then America would come to a screeching halt. What BS! We have close to 320 MILLION people here, and if even 20 MILLION were deported, there would be plenty of people to fill any open jobs. Of course, we'd lose all those jobs created by the previous administration to count, feed, process and house the illegal aliens..

Online story: " Georgia driver's licenses given to immigrants and others with legal permission to be in the U.S. would include the word "noncitizen" under legislation proposed this year." -- Name another countr who will issue a driver's license? Most other counties recognize an International Permir if used with a valid US state's license in order to rent a vehicle, but will not issue a license. The United States also does not issue IDPs to foreign visitors. To get an IDP, contact the motor vehicle department of the country that issued your driver's license. If you want to rent a car, you may need both your license and an IDP. Find out the rental company's policies and other requirements in advance.

Online headline/story: "Connecticut governor (Democrat, of course) proposes massive fee hike on gun owners * The governor of Connecticut has proposed quadrupling a five-year renewal fee for pistol permits in the state as part of his plan to combat the state’s deficits, according to the Associated Press. * The AP reported that Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-Conn.) plans to raise the renewal fee for pistol permits from $70 to $300 as part of his proposal to reduce the state’s budget deficit, which is currently estimated at approximately $1.7 billion * The AP reported that Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-Conn.) plans to raise the renewal fee for pistol permits from $70 to $300 as part of his proposal to reduce the state’s budget deficit, which is currently estimated at approximately $1.7 billion. * For pistol owners paying their first five year fee, their costs would jump from $140 to $370 — which includes a $70 fee collected by cities and towns. Fees for the background checks needed to obtain the pistol permits would also increase from $50 to $75. * The proposed fees — which would be among the highest in the country if authorized — would raise about $12 million a year for the state." -- Hmmm... two concerns here.. first.. law abiding citizens would probably become "criminals" as they refuse to renew permits... but secondly.. is the outrageous expectation that raising gun permit fees would eliminate the $1.7 BILLION dollar deficit that has ballooned during the Governors 6 years in office.. If ALL Connecticut legal gun owners DID renew their gun permits, it would take over 1,400 YEARS to collect $1.7 BILLION!

Hmmm... since the house Walker Garrett sold to the MCSD at a nearly six figure profit has been in the news. I have another question that Garrett should voluntarily answer.. He bought a house for $154,000.00 out of an estate in 2013.. following his divorce, he got sole possession by a quitclaim signed by his ex in 2015. Less than a year later, Garrett sold it to the MCSD for $250,000.00. Two days after the closing, and following calls of concern about his residency in Council District 8, he bought another house in District 8 for $210,000.00. Technically.. legally.. everything is above board, but.. there's another issue.. IRS says you don't have to pay a capital gain tax on a profit from the sale of a house if... IF you buy an equal or higher priced house within 2 years.. I do not think this transaction qualifies for that provision. Let's make sure we ask him about his tax returns when he runs for re-election.

L-E headline/story: "Local publication calls for Smyre to run for Columbus mayor * The Courier/Eco Latino had a cover story with a large photo of state Rep. Calvin Smyre and a headline that read: “Calvin Smyre: Your Rent Is Due; It’s Time To Run For Mayor Of Columbus, Georgia." --  Why would Smyre give up the power he has as a Sr Democrat powerhouse in Altanta to be a Democrat Mayor of Columbus when Republicans pretty much ignore Columbus'  Democrat mayors? Additionally, Smyre would have to abandon his power as the chair of the Synovus/CB&T Foundation.

From the "Mein Kampf book of journalism" department - "Online headline/story: "MSNBC Anchor: "Our Job" Is To "Control Exactly What People Think" * Mike Brzezinski said, "he (Trump) could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job."" -- -- Excuse me.. when a person works for a company or publication that projects itself as a "news source", it's employees should only be interested in present the facts.. and if an employee gets the approval of his/her employer to make commentary, he/she still has an obligation to present the basic facts... FACTUALLY, and let the reader/listener decide what the truth is vs opinion. This in mind, remember that the "half-truth" is the blackest of all lies! Comrade BRZEZINSKI, you are in the wrong country!

You know, after hearing a MCSD teacher soundoff on the inadequacy of 'Judging" a school or student by one CCRPI test score.. it made me think about what CCRPI is an acronym for.. how about "Common Crap Reality Proven Irrelevant"

L-E headline: "Dripping pipes, fire hazards revealed on Government Center tour" -- Why are people "happy" to show these off? Seems to me, these problems would be better solved by hiring new people to replace the people responsible for allowing the building to deteriorate .

L-E headline/story: "School board members align in Columbus High parking decision * When the Muscogee County School Board has a split vote, the members most critical of the administration, Frank Myers of District 8 and John Thomas of District 2, usually are in the minority. Tuesday night’s meeting, however, provided an unusual case of Myers and Thomas supporting the administration amid a controversial decision." -- You know, Frank Myers should have recused himself from voting (or voted, "NO") since he, too, has a daughter currently attending CHS.

From above story: "According to the bid tabulation attached to the agenda, Landmark Grading Company of Fort Mitchell was the low bidder among seven contractors. The bids ranged from $571,727 to $859,360. Even the low bid exceeded the original estimate MCSD construction manager Bobby Hecht gave the board. Add in $50,000 for engineering design, $20,000 for construction testing and $43,273 for contingencies, and the administration now estimates the project to be $685,000 — which requires the additional $200,000 in funding. * But some board members argue the true cost of the project is more than $900,000 when the purchase of the property is taken into account. " -- Good grief.. how could this have been discussed just a few days ago and neither the MCSB nor the L-E published the cost of the house into the overall figures.. When this house was bought, a house on a relatively flat lot about 4 times the size of Walkers house was available just across the street from the CHS baseball field. In addition to more than enough space to provide all the parking needs for CHS, it has a buiding that could be used for CHS programs, and paving would have been easier and less costly...and it was available for slightly more than twice what Garrett was paid for this house.

In a "letter" to the L-E. an uber-lib has penned, "It is becoming increasingly apparent to millions of Americans, including the 35 California psychiatrists who have signed an open letter to that effect, that the megalomaniac who has seized the reins of power in our government and has packed his Cabinet with the inept and ominous detritus of the swamp that he claims to have drained, is mentally unstable, to the point of psychosis." -- Hmm,, and how many non-Clifornia psychiatrists would gladly sign on to a list of names, including the letter writer, that the people are in a rather unfortunate state of denial, and have bigger issue that our president, who, BTW, did not "seize the reins",  but was selected by the voting citizens of 30 of our 50 states.

Online headline/story: "Trump expected to rescind protections for trans students * Although the White House last month insisted that President Donald Trump is "determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community," his administration will reportedly withdraw guidance for schools that allows transgender students to use facilities that match their gender identity. *  "This is first day of the president's second month in office, and he is now fully coming after LGBT people," (Mara) Keisling, the executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality, said Monday, as quoted by the Blade. "I'm angry; I'm outraged. This is about kids who just want to go to school, who just want to be themselves, and to hear the president a week or two ago talk about how supportive he is of LGBT people, it's just outrageous that he go after trans kids this way." -- "go after trans kids"? Good grief.. none of this is "about the kids".. it's about entitlement and special minority treatment at the expense of the nation... and sanity. Maybe bathroom doors should just be marked with signs that read, "Innies" and "Outies".

---
Online story: "The new head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said on Tuesday that America need not choose between jobs and the environment, in a nod to the energy industry, as the White House prepares executive orders that could come as soon as this week to roll back Obama-era regulation. * "I believe that we as an agency, and we as a nation, can be both pro-energy and jobs, and pro-environment," Scott Pruitt said in his first address to staff. "We don't have to choose between the two." -- Yes! Leadership AND sanity are returning to Washington!

---
Online story: "Chief executive officers of 16 companies, including Boeing Co, Caterpillar Inc and General Electric Co, have urged the U.S. Congress to pass a comprehensive tax code rewrite, including a controversial border tax. * In a letter to Republican and Democratic leadership on Tuesday, the CEOs said a Republican-proposed border adjustment tax would make U.S.-manufactured products more competitive abroad and at home by making imported goods face the same level of taxation." -- "make  U.S. manufactured products more competitive... AT HOME"?  Good grief.. the presidents/Congresses that allowed American manufacturers to gain an edge in our own country should be exposed and hammered by historians!

---
L-E headline/story: "City responds to accountability group’s critique of finances * “First of all, looking at 16 years and making a summary statement can be a little misleading and subject to misinterpretation,” said Deputy City Manager Pam Hodge. “... It’s hard to compare year-to-year and it also doesn’t reflect the true revenue-to expenditures — money-in-money out — which is how we budget for the government.” -- In a nutshell, Pam Hodge's admission of inconsistencies in accountability DEMAND that a full forensic  audit be taken... AND COMPLETED.. before Mayor Tom-LYING-son finishes her second term!

Online story: "The Otis elevator heir who took a pickax to Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame cut a deal in his felony vandalism case and he won't spend a day behind bars. * James Otis pled no contest to the vandalism charge and was placed on 3 years probation. * He was also ordered to pay the Hollywood Historic Trust and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce a total of $4,400 ... presumably the cost of repairing the damage and replacing portions of the star. * Otis must also do 20 days of Caltrans work ... possibly picking up trash by the freeway. * He did the deed October 26, 2016, to protest then-candidate Donald Trump." -- I guess we should just be glad California didn't rename "Presidents Day"  "James Otis Day".

---
Online headline/story: "Walmart speaks out against Trump proposal in an unprecedented warning to US shoppers * Walmart is warning against President Trump's proposed border adjustment tax, saying it would raise the cost of goods for US shoppers." -- Good grief... Walmart.. the company that changed its slogan from "Always THE low price" to "Always low prices" may now have to "pay the piper" for abandoning American manufacturers. Company executives are more concerned at having to cut their margins because that would cut into their annual bonuses.

From the "I did say at one time I wouldn't report on Lindsay Lohan anymore" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Lindsay Lohan 'was racially profiled for the first time' in her life for wearing a headscarf" -- "racially profile"? I didn't know religious garb  was a "racial" designation...I remember when my First Baptist Church member aunt would always wear a head scarf.

From the "no one 'casts the first stone' at himself or the person signing his checks" department - Huff POOPOO headline: "Former Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta blames FBI for election loss" -- ould someone hand Podesta a rock and a mirror so he could see his target...

---
And another from the "no one casts the first stone at himself or the person signing his checks" department - Good grief, Hellary's campaign manager, Robin Mook, is still out blaming the Russians for their loss..does anyone believe he..or she would take the blame for running a crappy campaign that lost 30 states? -- Dang.. we're gonna run out of mirrors, soon.

---
From the "remember the CA police officer who was just killed by a recent parolee" department - Online story: "We need to wake up. Enough is enough," Whittier, CA  police Chief Jeff Piper told a news conference. "You're passing these propositions; you're creating these laws that are raising crimes. It's not good for our communities and it's not good for our officers, What you have today is an example of that." *Good grief, Hellary's campaign manager, Robin Mook, is still out blaming the Russians for their loss..does anyone believe he..or she would take the blame for running a crappy campaign that lost 30 states? 26, was arrested Monday after Whittier police Officer Keith Boyer was fatally shot and Officer Patrick Hazell was wounded as they responded to the site of a traffic accident. * Investigators say Mejia, a gang member whose face is covered in tattoos, killed his cousin, Roy Torres, 46, earlier Monday in East Los Angeles before stealing Torres' car. * Authorities said Mejia had been released from Pelican State Prison in April and placed on probation under a reform measure known as Assembly Bill (AB) 109 that allowed some convicted felons to serve their sentences in county jails and serve probation instead of being sent to state prisons and paroled. *  Mejia had been arrested five times since April for violating his probation, most recently on Feb. 2, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. John Corina said. *Mejia's latest arrest was for "not cooperating with the search and seizure clause of his probation," sheriff's spokeswoman Nicole Nishida said. He was released on Feb. 11. * State law allowed him to be held for only 10 days after each of those five arrests * California Gov. Jerry Brown campaigned strongly for the ballot measure, unveiling a website and creating radio ads for the initiative that he said could help offenders change their lives." -- And we still do not know the citizenship of Mejia.. yet another police officer.. another US citizen.. has been shot down by someone who did not deserve to be out in public.

One story states this: "He (Mejia) is a documented street gang member and resident of Los Angeles. Being a "rsident" does not a citizen make.

You know.. with the disregard for life demonstrated by California based Latino gang members .why cant we find any articles discussing Mejia's family or his citizenship? At this point, we must assume the worst case scenario.

---
You know, the concept of "Habitat for Humanity" is wonderful..to build low cost housing that replaces blight and brings the stability of individual ownership back to neighborhoods. Bravo....unfortunately, it seems that the Columbus administrative/executive aspect of Habitat does not follow these standards. The current view of the local Habitat office from both Veterans Parkway and River Road is a blatant eyesore that demeans.. undermines.. the purpose of the organization.

---
You know, a simple standard of behavior for illegal aliens would be to hold them up to the standards their original country has for visitors to their country.

---
L-E story: "A Columbus state representative with family ties to the hospitality industry is a co-sponsor of a bill in the House that would eliminate the $5 per room hotel/motel fee charged in Georgia.
Rep. Matt Gurtler, R-Tiger, along with 15 cosponsors including Rep. John Pezold, R-Columbus, filed House Bill 364 last week that would repeal the $5 per night hotel fee that was passed with a statewide transportation bill in 2015." -- Well, well, well.. John "Benedict Arnold" Pezold is against out-of-towners paying taxes, but campaigned hard for raising property taxes for Columbus homeowners. You know.. even if the $5.00 tax/fee WERE removed, travelers wouldn't benefit..the Pezold Hotel group would just add that $5.00 onto the bill anyway so it would go in their pockets instead of the state coffers.

L-E "soundoff": "Indifference about the distinction between truth and lies is the precondition of fascism." -- Hmmm.. have you noticed this is the "game plan" of both Hellary's campaign.. and the mainscream media.?

---
L-E headline/story: "Muscogee district’s 2017-18 calendar is set * “There’s never a perfect calendar,” Lewis said then, “but this comes close.” -- "this comes close"? Well.. maybe  if you are a MCSD employee, but it helps neither students or families to have to find caretakers for their small children while parents are having to work during "break times".. nor does it help the students and their families nor the community to have teenagers idling away their time with nothing constructive to do.

From the "who says law enforcement gets time off from their duties" department - Online L-E headline/story: "HARRIS COUNTY * Official: Sheriff was driver who fatally struck fleeing man * (Sheriff) Jolley was driving home in a pickup truck with his wife in the passenger seat when he accidentally struck the fleeing suspect in the northbound lane of I-185 near Buena Vista Road, Irvin said. * “When he jumped over the wall, he was struck by Sheriff Jolley,” Irvin said. “He was not on duty, not in the pursuit at all, and not responding to it, but coming home from a personal visit.” -- Justice was speedily served... God does, indeed,  work in mysterious ways.. Oh.. more info from WTVM9.. Unknown at the time,  Dalton was wanted out of Stewart County for drug trafficking and weapons charges.

---
From the "liberals just have to 're-invent' the truth" department - L-E "head-LIE" : "Trump widens net for deportation" -- You know,, how can the "net" be widened from the extent of our nation's existing borders? Hmmm.. now that I think about it a second.. I guess if you started enforcing our national laws and included "sanctuary states/cities", the net would seem to be widened..

---
L-E headline/story: "Yiannopoulos resigns from Breitbart following pedophilia comments * Milo Yiannopoulos, the incendiary writer and commentator who helped make Breitbart News a leading organ of the “alt-right,” resigned from the news organization Tuesday after a video of him endorsing pedophilia surfaced online over the weekend. * Yiannopoulos – known simply as MILO in Breitbart’s own coverage of him – has been a flame-throwing provocateur whose writing has offended women, Muslims, blacks and gay people ever since former Breitbart executive chairman Stephen K. Bannon hired him as a senior editor in 2014. " -- You know.. Milo was openly gay.. he worked for Breitbart/Steve Bannon.. yet.. there's not one mention of Milo being gay in this article.. Had Milo worked for Michael Moore, mainscream media would have thrown up a protective wall around him, and UC-Berkeley would have welcomed him with open arms.

L-E story: "Residents in a northwestern suburb of Stockholm predominantly inhabited by immigrants clashed with police officers Monday, two days after U.S. President Donald Trump unleashed a vague but pointed critique of Sweden’s migration policies. * About 20 to 30 masked men threw stones and other objects at police officers in the suburb," -- Hmmm... looks like Trump's security team has gotten correct information to him in a timely manner, and have stopped the "leaks" to mainscream media at the same time..

---
L-E headline/story: "French using eagles to battle drones *  Under French military supervision, four golden eagle chicks hatched last year atop drones — born into a world of terror and machines they would be bred to destroy." -- Good grief.. where's PETA when we really need them... oh, complaining about the fashion and cosmetic  world using animals..

---
L-E "Quote": ""IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN. * George Eliot (Mary Anne Evans), British author (1819-1880)" -- Hmmm.. now this is the attitude mainscream media should adopt about Hellary.. and her need to be arrested!

Random thought.. Yesterday, I was driving behind a car that had an unusual looking  handicap license plate on it, but I could not tell what state the car was licensed in.. The dealers tag frame covered up all the info except for the plate number and the validation sticker. I know this is against the law as a plate should be identifiable at all times, but how do dealers get away with giving away such detriments to safe driving?

---

Another Random Thought.. there's a picture in the L-E of the fictitious Central High of Phenix City's girls basketball team. Curious at seeing and all black team and all black coaching/support staff got my curiosity up.. Central High of Phenix City has a racial mix of 68.4% black,  28.8% white and the balance between Asian/Hispanic/Other. I grew up at a time that schools were segregated, and was an early proponent of integration.. especially within the staffs of each school. How did segregation creep back into our schools?

Tuesday, February 21, 2017

From the "maybe if we leave a few details out, no one will notice" department --  HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Police officer killed while responding to traffic stop * Boyer was fatally wounded around 8:30 a.m. in the area of Colima Road and Mar Vista Street in Whittier, CA while responding to a traffic accident, the Sheriff's Department said in a news release. Another officer and the suspect were also injured in the shooting, sheriff's Lt. John Corina said at the news conference. *  "It's extremely tragic," Corina said. "You've got a couple officers who just responded to a traffic accident, and they think they're there to help out people involved in a traffic accident. Next thing they know, they got this guy shooting at them. He shoots both of them and kills one of them." * Corina said the suspect, who is only being identified as a 26 year-old man, was allegedly driving a stolen car and may be involved in a killing that happened early Monday in East L.A.
* The suspect is believed to have been released on parole within the past two weeks, though Corina did not know why he had been serving time." -- Fortunately, there was TV video that ran with this HuffPOOPOO version of reporting.. As you "might" suspect, the "career Criminal" who was out of jail on "early release" was not white...All I can think of at this point is that what if the killer was an "Obama release" and/or a non-citizen...

From the "suspicions conformed" department - Update: Fox News has the story now.. "A recently paroled gang member killed his cousin and stole his car Monday, then shot and killed a Whittier, Calif. police officer and wounded his partner before being wounded himself, authorities said. * The suspect, a 26-year-old gang member, had a history of serious crimes and had been granted early release from Los Angeles County jail about a week ago" -- "killed his cousin"? Like the rest of CA has a chance the thug would be compassionate towards them?  Well, now we must still wait for citizenship status.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "'Not My President's Day' protesters get creative with anti-Trump signs" -- Hmmm"creative signs"... no new or cognizant ideas/thoughts.. but a few signs.. mainscream media is in for a frustrating 4 .. years and another 4 years on the horizon..

---
Online headline: "Royal Caribbean latest cruise line to cancel Turkey ports of call" -- Now.. THIS is a "travel ban"! Trump's Executive Order" was/is an "entry ban".

---
In a Gallup Poll ranking best liked countries to worst, Americans polled pretty much confirmed why the 7 countries in Trump's "entry ban" were such.. out of the 21 countries included, Iran, Syria and Iraq were in the bottom 5 of those with votes... Oh, and Yemen, Somalia, Libya and Sudan didn't get a single vote.. Right on,Trump!

---
HuffPOOPOO story: "Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore is again on the attack against President Donald Trump. * Moore launched an online calendar with the goal of tracking any anti-Trump events happening around the world. He's calling it the "Resistance Calendar." People can post events that are happening at any location." -- Hmmm.. have you noticed that HuffPOOPOO created most of the stories in this edition.. HuffPOOPOO must have worked hard on Presidents Day"  to avoid "real news". Now, what Trump supporting groups should do is flood Moore's website calendar with Trump events/stories...

---
Online headline/story: "American flag contains 51 stars for Pence visit to European Union *  A background picture of the American flag that went up alongside the European Union flag as Pence and EU leader Donald Tusk spoke on Monday had 51 stars instead of the usual 50, one for each state. * The Brussels version of the flag had three rows of nine stars and three rows with eight stars each. American flags typically feature a total of nine alternating rows of five or six stars" -- Hmm.. guess Brussels has become the spokescountry for the world, and gave the American voters an extra star for picking Trump vs Hellary!

---
Online headline/story: "Nearly a dozen passengers walked through unattended TSA checkpoint at JFK, police say * The passengers walked through the Terminal 5 screening area at around 6 a.m., Port Authority Police told Fox News. They said they searched the terminal for those passengers around 8 a.m. after getting "belated notification" from the Transportation Security Administration, and concluded that all the travelers likely boarded flights. * Police determined three passengers got on a flight to California and would get screened upon arrival" -- "would get screened on arrival"? Yeahm, and in what "sanctuary city" is that going to happen...personally, I'd feel much better if a Trump appointed TSA team screened all passengers trying to LEAVE California.

Online headline: "San Francisco Police Department ends cooperation with FBI counterterrorism efforts" -- Don't you hope those TSA avoiders were San Francisco bound.

You know.. what's the best way to get less work. sloppier work from an employee... give him/her a "minimum wage raise" that he/she hasn't earned.. nothing says mediocrity is good like giving "praise and a raise" to the undeserving.. sorta like giving out high school diplomas as a reward for participation..

---
Why are mainscream media flunkies so concerned about Trump's dismal of Michael Flynn, yet were not the least bit interested in why Obama didn't immediately fire Loretta Lynch upon finding out she met with Bill Clinton DURING the investigation of Helllary?

---
You know, I find it reprehensible...but mainly un-American for any other American to endanger another American who is performing an official duty of the government...whether as a police officer or any other duty being done by an elected or appointed official.

---
Why has Trump allowed both mainscream AND conservative media refer to Trump's Executive Order as a "travel ban"? It stops no one from traveling,..it stops unvettable people from entering the US.

---
You know, the last time phone conversations in the Oval Office were taped, mainscream media went after the perpetrators with a vengeance.. and Nixon resigned..now mainscream media looks at the Obama holdovers as "patriots".

---
I tell you what...with there being a full year before we have to really begin to focus on the next election cycle, I'm going to remove political frustration from my schedule. Yesterday, I either changed back and forth between Fox News and Fox Business whenever agenda based liberals/Rinos appeared on different shows..My remote's battery comparment heated up, but made it through the day. No more Karl Rove, Shepard Smith, Juan Williams, Geraldo, Jemu Greene, Alan Colmes, Blob Beckel or others. During the 5:00 hour, I even switched to Hallmark after switching from Rove on Fox Business, and got Blob Beckel on Fox's "The Five".

Online headline: "CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS INTRODUCES BILL To TAX PEOPLE FOR BEING WHITE" -- Good grief.. there's already one of those on the books that Obama imposed.. the "indoor tanning" tax...

From above story: " Democrats in the Congressional Black Caucus have reportedly renewed their ill-conceived efforts to force white Americans to pay for the sins of some of their ancestors. * Specifically, Michigan Rep. John Conyers and his fellow CBC members have “re-introduced legislation that would set up a commission to consider whether reparations should be paid to black Americans for slavery, * Conyers has reportedly been proposing the bill every year for at least two decades." -- More racial discrimination! Has Conyers ever included all the Irish slaves that were brought to America?

L-E story: "With “alternative facts” and “fake news” prominent in politics these days, Congressman Cedric Richmond attempted to set the record straight on Monday while visiting Columbus. * Richmond, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd Congressional District, is the youngest person to serve as chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus on Capitol Hill. He spoke at the 32nd Annual Black History Observance Breakfast held at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center. * During his speech, Richmond made fun of some of Trump’s recent comments about black history and black elected officials. * “Despite the White House not knowing, the Congressional Black Caucus is alive and well,” he said. “We are 49 members strong. We represent 78 million Americans, 17 million black people, and that’s 41 percent of black people.
* “But that means we represent about 61 million people who are not African American, who are not urban, who are not inner-city,” he added. “We represent the suburbs. We represent rural America and we fight for distressed communities. We fight for underrepresented communities, we fight for poor people. But you know what we’re really just fighting for? Justice and equality for all.” --  Richmond said, "We represent 78 million Americans, 17 million black people, and that’s 41 percent of black people.
* “But that means we represent about 61 million people who are not African American, who are not urban, who are not inner-city,”" .... and this is why working for discriminatory legislation.. and re-segregation is not what America is about..

L-E headline/story: "Columbus police chief backs department’s plan to stick with Smith & Wesson *  That question has been batted about in social media since the Ledger-Enquirer reported the plan to switch last week. * Police Chief Ricky Boren says he has hundreds of thousands of good reasons to stay with Smith & Wesson, because the company has agreed to take the existing .45s in a one-for-one trade and provide 9 mm models, at no cost to the department." --  Hmmm... Now I have another question.. why wasn't the "financial terms" included in the original story (answer: This is the L-E!).. I'd say that "saving money" was a definitely pertinent aspect, even though the stopping power of the 45-cal should be a concern for officers' safety.

From the "make up something that justifies your point of view" department - "L-E headline/story: "Teen suicide attempts fell as marriage equality rises * Teen suicide attempts in the U.S. declined after same-sex marriage became legal and the biggest impact was among gay, lesbian and bisexual kids, a study found." -- Good grief.. then "we" can say that Trump's election was the cause of this phenomena..

Monday, February 20, 2017

HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Kellyanne Conway has been called out by the president of her alma mater, Trinity Washington University, in a recent school blog post titled, "On Lies and the Truths We Must Tell." *  Patricia McGuire states "Ms. Conway has been part of a team that thinks nothing of shaping and spreading a skein of lies as a means to secure power ." -- Good grief.. this is the same woman... well.. female... that openly supported Hellary, and in 2006, fawned over Trinity Washington U. alumna Nancy Pelosi who was about to assume the "weighty responsibilities" of becoming Speaker of the House. Seems Ms McGuire's "blog title, "On Lies and the Truths We Must Tell.", would be more suitable to discuss Hellary and Pelosi.  Wanna bet Ms McGuire "retires" in Trump's FIRST TERM?

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Dan Rather blasts Trump's attack on the press as 'a deep betrayal' -- Good grief.. Dan Rather could be one of the "poster children" in Trump's war on "Very Fake News"!

---
There's a "list" of the Top 15 countries around the world  for "air pollution". It was released last week.. Guess what.... America is NOT on he list.. Guess "the List" was not approved by Algore...

---
There's another "list" out, too,.. the Top 15 cities for "crime reduction" from 2011 through 2015.. Columbus, GA did not make this list. Sorry, Mayor Tom-LYING-son.

---
Online story: "Hillary Clinton did a litmus test in NYC by hitting Broadway and getting encouraging results ... amid rumors she'll run for mayor." -- Hmm.. guess she feels that the "Big Apple" will sooth the wound of the "big raspberry" she got in November..

---
Online story: "Sen. John McCain is taking a veiled swipe at President Donald Trump's ongoing attack on the fourth estate, cautioning that "how dictators get started" is by shutting down the press." -- You know, Trump supports 'freedom of the press"...as the Founding Fathers did.. Trump, like the super majority of Americans, all supports the REASONS the Founding Fathers explicitly included this in the 1st Amendment... so that the truth would not be muffled.. unfortunately, it's "the press" that has dishonored the importance of the Founding Fathers' determination that the truth not be muffled.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Melania opens President Trump's campaign rally with Lord's Prayer" -- And America cheered knowing our First Family turns to God for guidance.. maybe the "free press" should do so also.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Poll reveals majority of Americans want Democrats to work with Trump" -- Hmmm and it looks like the DNC will have to adopt the catch-phrase of Chester A. Riley ("Life of Riley") as it's 2018 Congressional Campaign slogan: "What a revoltin' development this is!",

---
I think I've pretty much figured out why liberals detest Trump so much.. they can't imagine having to give up their Mercedes and BMWs and buying American..

Norma McCorvey died last week.. It was her story that became "Roe vs Wade" that became the law of the land when the US Supreme Court upheld abortion rights in 1973. Most people do not realize that McCorvey did not abort the fetus that the case was built on.. She had the child and gave it up for adoption, and little is known about said child today..at least not that's publicized. McCorvey also had an epiphany, converted to become an evangelical Christian, then to become a Catholic.. and was a lifetime advocate against abortion.. in 2005, she tried to get the US Supreme Court to revisit the ruling of 1973, but it was rejected by the court, and in 2009 she was arrested at an anti-abortion demonstration at an Obama speech at Notre Dame, and at the hearings for Sonia Sotomayor's Supreme Court nomination confirmation hearings. Jane Roe put the abortion issue to rest, Norma McCorvey fought that the est of her life. Me, I'm pro-life, but I do not feel/think the abortion issue should be a legislative issue.. abortion should not endanger the health of a woman anymore than giving birth. Abortion is an issue between God and a woman (or couple), and God can choose to give Grave and Mercy ...or not. God will make that determination by how the woman (or couple) live the rest of her/their life.

There's a L-E article about a children's clothing store leaving North Columbus for Broadway in downtown Columbus... because rent will be about 40% cheaper... There's a reason.. but Good Luck! Retail thrives only as a parasite industry.. it must locate itself within  an area surrounded by "donors".

---
L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * Blind his whole life, fifth-grader wins his school’s spelling bee" -- First, congratulations to Sean Strasser... and his parents/family..and I'm sure I can find something in here to congratulate his teacher/mentor, Lisa Moore..obviously, Sean was encouraged to achieve as an individual, which is not a component of the Common CRAP Curriculum... the Common CRAP Curriculum's obvious failure was in the rest of the school's students Losing... uh.."not winning" using the regular Common CRAP Curriculum processes.

---
Did you see the Hughston Clinic advertisment in the L-E for lower prices on their services versus OObamaCRAP participating hospitals in the area? Is this not the coup de etat of OObamaCRAP? A capitalistic hospital practicing free enterprise!

---
L-E guest commentary headline/content: "SUNDAY FORUM SPECIAL * ‘Passionate intensity’ brings political consequences * BY JONAH GOLDBERG * Tribune News Service * Now, there’s certainly an important difference between government officials releasing top-secret information to settle political scores and a foreign government aiding in the hacking of the Democratic National Committee. " -- Hmm.. yes, there are differences in internal "leaks" and stories of external "manipulation..Unfortunately, mainscream media put credibility on the "external" stories which are not verified.. and maybe not even verifiable.. while it ignores the path to expose the sources of the internal "leaks". Yes, Trump is right on the mark.. "Fake News" is not the worst of the press issues.. "Very Fake News" and basic anarchy prevail in our media.

---
If it wasn't so blatantly political, we could just shake our heads and say, "Well, that's just Democrats.", but when mainscream media went beserk over leaks (versus actual content) of the DNC hard drive/e-mails, yet now promotes treasonous disclosures by State and Security Department sources that undermine not only the president, but our National Security, then the DOJ needs not only to step in and stop it, the DOJ should also go after news outlets that print/broadcast US secrets. While the 1st Amendment protects "freedom of speech", "freedom of speech" that undermines our security is not protected.

---
L-E headline: "Here’s a look at the state’s latest proposal for failing schools and what local leaders think about it" -- and all I hear from the MCSD.. and L-E is, "blah, blah, blah, blah".. neither is wanting to address their part of being the problem...

---
While the "soundoff" about the guy who wants "two Falcons, two Braves, and two Bulldawgs to be his pallbearers so they can let him down one last time" is my forever "best soundoff" possible, here's one that is in contention for a Top 5 placement - L-E "soundoff": "The Grammys are a great show but they need to add a new category: Best Attorney Commercial"

---
.L-E headline: "Georgia House OKs $2.5M for CSU projects" -- Wait a minute.. wasn't the L-E quick to blame/condemn Josh McKoon last year for the GA Legislature withdrawal of $10,000,000.00 in future construction at CSU, yet now the L-E and CSU are effusive over getting $2,500,000.00 after McKoon announced his plans not to run for re-election? Sounds a lot like it was a conspiracy to get McKoon off the Ethics Committee by blaming him for last years RINO-cabal.

---
L-E headline/story: "Few Americans are enjoying Cuban tourism * Service to the longtime U.S. foe began in September, but after just five months the largest carrier to the island, American Airlines Group Inc., cut daily flights by 25 percent and switched to smaller jets on some routes. Meanwhile, Silver Airways Corp. reduced weekly flights to six Cuban cities and JetBlue Airways Corp. downsized its planes so as to match lower-than-expected demand." -- God grief.. Other than Cuban-American looking to reestablish family contacts, only liberals are interested in going to Cuba... but.. how can liberals show their faces there when Cuba still hasn't stopped its human rights violations?

---
L-E headline/story: "A White House where guests pay to play * BY NICHOLAS CONFESSORE, MAGGIE HABERMAN AND ERIC LIPTON * New York Times * Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s members-only Palm Beach, Fla., club, has been transformed into the part-time capital of U.S. government, a winter White House where Trump has entertained a foreign head of state, health care industry executives and other presidential guests. * But Trump’s gatherings at Mar-a-Lago – he arrived there Friday afternoon, his third weekend visit in a row – have also created an arena for potential political influence rarely seen in U.S. history: a kind of Washington steakhouse on steroids, situated in a sunny playground of the rich and powerful, where members and their guests enjoy a level of access that could elude even the best-connected of lobbyists." -- Good grief..and Obama's Martha's Vineyard and Hawaii "vacations" were 'inner city" mission projects? And Obama's incessant trips to California et al for fund-raising events were charitable ventures? Yeah, right..

---
L-E headline: "Questions about city’s finances sparks discussion about 1999 SPLOST dollars" --  While it is a crime for businesses to COLLECT an unauthorized sales tax, it has to be a bigger CRIME for the City to accept and SPEND those revenues.

---
From the "absolutely ABSURD" department - L-E story: "The (Muscogee County School)  board will vote on whether to approve Landmark Grading Company for the construction of a Columbus High School parking lot and amend the project budget to include additional funding of $200,000 which brings the final budget to $685,000." -- Good grief.. the MCSD already paid  future Councilor Walker Garrett nearly $100,000.00 more for the property  than it was assessed for taxes, and now the MCSB has to approve another $415,000.00 to tear it down and pave a lot for about 50+/- cars? That's about  $13,700.00 (or about $50.00 a square ft for an ongoing expense) PER parking space! WE need to stop this madness!
---
L-E headline: "Blast in Somalia kills dozens in Mogadishu marketplace" -- Hmmm.. isn't this one of the countries that Trump rightfully wants to ban its terrorists from entry into America? You got a problem with that? I don't!
---

L-E guest commentary headline: "Sleep? I’ve got too much worrying to do * BY GINA BARRECA * Hartford Courant" -- Hmm.. obviously not up on her Bible readings..there are many to choose from, but Ms. Barreca would get immediate relief reading.. and of course, taking to heart... Matthew 6:25-34.

From the "let's see how we can mislead the truth in a headline" department - Online headline/story: "Betsy DeVos: I'd be 'fine' if we could ditch the Education Department  * Though DeVos basically stated she'd be OK with jettisoning the department, she also said that the federal government, at least in the past, has had a legitimate role to play in education." -- Looks like DeVos is going to be a good one.. and the right one for our times and America's childrens' future..Last year, the 50 states spent $977,000,000,000.00  on education, and the Department of Education spent $209,000,000,000 ... that's almost $1.2 TRILLION. There are about 63,000,000 children between the ages of 5 and 19..  The US is spending over $19,000.00 per child! This is nothing in the stats of spending or test results that shows.. much less PROVES... the US Dept of Education has actually HELPED education..what the DOE has done, basically, is divert 1/6th of the money spent on education, and used it to control what is done and taught at the local levels.

---
Found more interesting figures while looking up the above. Let's talk healthcare spendings.. In 2008, Americans spent $2,3 TRILLION on healthcare.. in 2016, Americans spent $3.2 TRILLION on healthcare! In 2016 alone, that's almost $3,000.00 MORE per person in the US being spent on healthcare than was being spent in 2008. Where are the "savings" Obama promised with OObamaCRAP?

---
Online headline/story: "Columbia University accepts hundreds of students by mistake " -- And what's new... Columbia accepted Obama, and has shut down access to all info regarding his application.

What's ironic about the Columbis snafu is that all 300 students "pranked" by Columbia were for the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health Master's Program.. Guess Columbis realized that with OObamCRAP soon to be history, there was no sense in expanding the Masters Program in Public Health.

---
L-E headline: "Mayor Teresa Tomlinson in 'audacious' speech: ‘We are remaking this city’" -- "remaking this city"? Sorta like Obama saying he was "transforming America"..

From the above L-E story: "The luncheon, sponsored by the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce," -- Excuse me.. but why is the Chamber sponsoring this since it takes a considerable amount of money out of the City coffers annually.. yeah. it's partially taxpayer funded!

---
Online headline: "Heavy rain and snow pound California, raising mudslide risk" -- Well, well, well... all those Moonbeam Brown prayers to save the "snail darter" at the expense of the farmer are coming to pass.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "The Obamas are looking for interns" -- Looking for interns? Guess that's cheaper than paying  $15.00 minimum wages per hour.....

---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton takes grandkids to cool place 8 Hillary may win y-the ultimate grandma award based on her most recent outing to Sesame Street Live"-- "Sesame Street"?  "ultimate grandma award"?  The way I read this is that Hellary forfeited chances at winning the "ultimate grandma award " back in the early 90s when she said she was not in the kitchen "baking cookies", and if Sesame Street accommodated her, it was so Sesame Street could show her the  "Big Bird".

---
From the "they're coming to take you away.. ha ha" department - Online headline/story:Robots that steal human jobs should pay taxes, Gates says *  Bill Gates, the co-founder of  Microsoft and world’s richest man, said in an interview Friday that robots  that steal human jobs should pay their fair share of taxes." -- Hmm.. how about just confiscating the immense accumulated wealth of the men who create the chips, software, and mechanics of the robots.. In effect, they are the ones who are eliminating the repetitive jobs

---
Online story: "Less than a month after exiting the White House, Obama received high marks from presidential historians for his pursuit of "equal justice for all" and for his commanding "moral authority," ranking third and seventh among all former presidents in each respective category. " "equal justice for all"? Its that what Obama and/or his DOJ did when persecuting George Zimmerman, the Boston Police for following procedures, for Officer Wilson in Ferguson, MO, for the Baltimore Police Department, for the citizens in South Chicago, for defending the American consulate in Libya, or releasing over 1,000 drug convicts, or releasing terrorists from Gitmo, or allowing "sanctuary cities"? Oh, and don't get me started on "moral authority" on abortions, or his economic prowess!

---
Online headline: "Chicago gang members say more police won't stop the murders" -- Unfortunately, this is probably true.. as long as Rahm Emanuel is mayor, and promotes Chicago as a "sanctuary city". Imagine that,, only criminals and police officers have guns in Chicago. The problem with this is that Chicago's prohibitive anti-gun laws keep law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves or assist others when they are in trouble....

---
Online story: "Ticket prices are plunging as this weekend’s NBA All-Star festivities kick off in New Orleans, six months after the league relocated the annual showcase event from its original site in Charlotte in protest of North Carolina’s controversial transgender bathroom law. * As of Friday morning, the cheapest available seat for Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game at the Smoothie King Center cost $184, according to data compiled by TicketIQ, a resale market ticket aggregator. That number is a 71% decrease from last year in Toronto, when the cheapest ticket on the Friday before the game cost $644. The plunge may not be over -- the price of the cheapest seat in 2014, when New Orleans last hosted the All-Star Game, fell 39% between Friday and tip-off on Sunday." -- Well, you could blame families who want to protect their children if they need to use a bathroom for not buying tickets.. but that would be wrong.. the simple problem is more likely that no one wants to pay a premium price for a ticket and have to sit next to one of these 'transgenders" for which New Orleans is full of.. oh.. either that or transgender folks are not going to attend unless they get cheaper or free tickets.

---
As much as I like "Fixer Upper" starring Chip and Joanna Gaines, I also "hate" them. Their show about fixing up homes gives my wife tons of ideas, but when we ask contractors what they will charge, it's 3 times (or more) than what Chip and Joanna do it for on TV.

---
Good grief...mainscream media is upset that Trump has publicly ordered the DOJ to investigate leaks from the State and Security departments. Where was mainscream media's outrage when IRS was ordered to screen/holdup 501 (c) 3 applications for conservative groups?

---
OK...President Trump needs to write an Executive Order removing Obama's racially discriminatory "tanning booth tax"!

---
Online headline: "CA Governor Brown Will Not Face Charges, Dam Disaster Being Blamed Instead On ‘Global Warming’ "-- Hmmm... the real headline should have been, "CA Governor Brown Will Not Face REALITY, Dam Disaster Being Blamed Instead On ‘Global Warming’. but the blame should be placed on Brown AND Obama for not trying to fix the problems.

---
Online headline/story: " WOW! Corrupt Florida Democrat Corrine Brown Faces 357 YEARS IN PRISON    * Indicted Democrat partied with Pelosi, flew with Obama, and campaigned for Clinton * She ran a fake charity which directed money away from kids and if convicted on all counts she’s going away for a long time. *  The disgraced congresswoman must defend against charges that she funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars from a non-profit charity, One Door for Education, into her own pocket. If convicted on all 24 counts, she faces 357 years in prison and $4.8 million in fines" -- Yeah.. Democrats are real interested in our childrens' education... NOT!

---
L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS POLICE DEPARTMENT * Columbus police plan to drop.45-caliber pistol for smaller 9 mm * We will get a handgun that will be more accurate for our officers and of course will be able to have fresh guns that haven’t been shot 2,000, 3,000 or 4,000 times.”" -- Hmm.. wouldn't a new barrel improve accuracy (especially if a Glock barrel) at a lesser cost? And while we discussing such.. has there been conversation to purchase a weapon from Heckler & Koch.. a local company.. which would also add additional economic benefits to our community...

---
From the "truth is self evident" department - L-E "soundoff": "It’s mid-February and between premiums, deductibles, and copays, I’ve already spent a third of my 2017 salary on health care. There’s no such thing as affordable care. The Act only made things worse." -- In 2008, Americans spent $2,3 TRILLION on healthcare.. in 2016, Americans spent $3.2 TRILLION on healthcare! In 2016 alone, that's almost $3,000.00 MORE per person in the US being spent on healthcare than was being spent in 2008. Where are the "savings" Obama promised with OObamaCRAP?

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Alabama needs a levelheaded Democrat like Troy King for state attorney general." -- Good grief.. Alabama and every other state needs an Attorney General with BRAINS and commitment to keep law abiding citizens safe.. that had nothing to do with liberalism.

---
L-E "soundoff": "Why does MCSD need a mission statement? One would think the mission would be self-evident." -- Amen!

The Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation announced it's 10 Semi-finalists for "Teacher of the Year". Compliments to all of them, but I hope either Shane Larkin of Early College Academy or Ron Forgie  of Columbus High win.. Both teach AP (Advanced Placement) U.S. History, and there is sure a shortage of students graduating that have no clue to the real history of our country!
