From the "efforts in false security" department - "Online headline/story: "Metal detectors installed at all schools in New Jersey district * Bayonne schools are putting metal detectors at every entrance. * On Wednesday, they trained teachers and staff on how to use them." -- Hmmm... even with metal detectors... and ARMED guards/teachers manning them, it won't stop a sicko student with a gun from doing major damage.. think about the TSA lines in airports.. hundreds of beltless/shoeless people lined up awaiting "inspection" to get into the departure gate section.. they are "sitting ducks.. unarmed ducks" for any sicko who comes up behind them and just opens fire at will..

Oh...and think about how much earlier you have to get to the airport before your flight actually leaves in order to walk through TSA's metal or X-ray machines.. How much extra time will either be added to a school day or deducted from classroom time..

Online headline: "AG Sessions says no second special counsel for FBI probe — at this time, anyway" -- You know.. while we "knew" President Obama had to "know" what was going on within his DOJ/FBI operations, it's just recently that documents confirming his knowledge/involvement have surfaced, and this should take op priority of Sessions' office.. Hey, Mueller, put that in your pipe and smoke it.

---
Online headline/story: "Parkland high school shooter Nikolas Cruz has been receiving tons of fan mail in prison * Piles of letters, including greeting cards and even provocative photos, have been mailed to the jail cell of the 19-year-old gunman, who is currently facing the death penalty after being accused of murdering 17 students and staff members at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14." -- Good grief.. can a new TV series already be in the works at BC and/or HBO or Netflix?

---
Online headline: "Judge throws wrench in Daniels' suit against Trump" -- Hmmm. wanna bet against it not being the first wrench Daniels has had intimate knowledge of?

---
Online headline: "China's 9.4-ton space station is about to fall from the sky — and no one is sure where its debris will land" -- Hmmm... brings back memories of "Skylab" in 1979...
In 1979, with the "the sky is falling" was a common term.. For a little absurdity, I bought a plastic "hard hat", used stick-on vinyl letters to emblazon "SkyLab Recovery Team" across the front and wore it around town. During the summer.. in the week or so before "touchdown" was expected. went to Albany on a church team softball tournament venture.. We had a motel near the softball complex, so you know we were not in the ritzy-part of Albany, and there was a a small "pub" in proximity...After our Friday night game, before we settled in for the night, I stopped by this "pub"... in softball uniform.. wearing my "SkyLab Recovery Team" hard hat and was carrying a clipboard and my briefcase-held "cell" phone.. there were a few folks milling around, and I went into an exercise of seemingly walking off distance from the door.. them went up to the bar, took the barstool that was between two men and set it aside..scribbled "notes" on my yellow pad, gave it to the barkeep and told him that the spot where the barstool I moved was an "educated guess" as a possible landing area for "space debris" in the next two weeks, and that he should warn any "patrons" about not sitting in that spot.. then walked away.. As I left the door, I could see the two men that were sitting next to that spot grab their beers and move to the other end of the bar... I slept well that night ...

---
From the "poll truth and nothing but the poll truth" department - Online headline: "Poll: Trump loss in 2020 anticipated by over half of Americans" -- Hmmm sorta "deja vu-ish" of the summer of 2016 polls..

---
Laura Ingraham apologized for mocking David Hogg... presumably because of some of her advertisers bringing pressure.. Here are three things I get out of this.. 1 - David Hogg should apologize to America... for being David Hogg, 2 - Laura Ingraham should apologize to America... for being Laura Ingraham AND for kowtowing to advertisers, 3- I'm not apologizing for boycotting David Hogg, Laura Ingraham or the companies that "weenied out" of their advertising on the Laura Ingraham Show.

---
Another from the "efforts in false security" department - Online headline/story: "US State Department to require social media handles on visa applications * As a part of new “extreme vetting” measures, social media for potential immigrants will be under scrutiny. * The US State Department has proposed that those seeking a United States visa will be required to give their social media handles, email addresses, and five years of past phone numbers on immigration forms." -- Good grief.. we know "illegal aliens" don't apply for Visas, but what's the State Department going to do when the applicant writes in "none" in all of the e-mail, social media, or cellphone info areas?

Now that ruffled feathers have been smoothed out, and Carlton Gary only exists in the depths of our memories, I gotta ask...when the Claflin School project is completed, will there be a marker erected showing Carlton Gary went to school there?

---
From a "whole new classification of DWI in Colorado" department - Online headline/story: "Rocky Mountain High: Marijuana-infused beer coming to Colorado * Keith Villa, the brewmaster behind Blue Moon, plans to introduce a line of marijuana-infused non-alcoholic craft beers. The company is called Ceria Beverages." -- Hmmm.. and can "Smokey and the Bandit IV" be far behind... remember when Burt Reynolds brought back a semi full of Coors back to GA within 24 hours when Coors wasn't sold "east of the Mississippi? "Bandit IV" will probably be about Reynolds getting a "scooter chair" load of "pot beer" back within 30 days..

Donna Brazile..remember her.? She back and excited about the new DIMocrat candidates...newbies such as Biden, Warren, Pelosi, Schumer, Kaine.. hmmm..looks like the only change Brazile and the DIMocrats have undergone is Brazile's new shade of lipstick... Hey Sarah Palin.. whatta think about Brazile's new shade of lipstick?

---
Mainscream media and the DIMocrats are in a tizzie! Should they show more concern/focus on Trump calling Putin, or Trump calling RoseAnne....

---
A DIMocrat spinmeister/strategist says the DIMocrats will be focusing on Russia, and medical care for the midterm elections...like every election, DIMocrats just have no policy issues to run on, and the people will vote on the economy...as usual.

---
This is a day late..the 4TH Quarter GDP was up to 2.9 percent.. initial estimates were 2.5..and first adjustment estimate was towards 2.7 percent, but came in at 2.9! I'm late because I heard it on the radio while driving Wednesday so I couldn't write it down, but there wasn't any mention in the L-E Thursday to jog my memory.

---
Already getting inquiries about the MCSB District 8 race.. am 100 percent behind Frank Myers' re-election.. we've already seen major changes in how the Board "works" and our students are benefiting.. taxpayers, too.

---
A couple of weeks back, I posted an item about the streets in my neighborhood being rated a "45" and that the City was only working on streets rated from 30-to-35. I want to tell you, the City is not working on 54th St between River Road and Veterans, and it's even worse than our neighborhood streets.. It's a major traffic artery, and if 54th Street is "in between" our neighborhood's "45", and streets between "30-35", then my neighborhood will NEVER get repaired/repaved.

L-E headline: "Columbus jury acquits former NFL player in meth trial" -- Another Columbus "jury fail".. Even if the jury felt Savage was not directly involved, Savage still allowed an illegal operation to be carried out in his business. Let's parse some of this knowledge.. 1 - is allowing someone to reside in a business even legal.. and regardless of that, allowing an illegal operation inside you business is operating "a house of ill-repute", and the business owner is just as responsible. Oh, and if money was found in such a business containing an illegal "house of ill-repute" , it would be confiscated. Now, since the jury has found the chargee "innocent", the DA's office should now turn over all of it's financial research.records over to the IRS and let the IRS determine the source of income/outgo with a detailed audit.

---
L-E headline/pic: "Russia to expel 60 US diplomats and close a consulate" -- Good grief.. we taxpayers have been stuck funding the operation of this castle in Russia? Good riddance.. in today's times, contact via video meetings is sufficient for government needs, and American travelers just need to be nice tourists when traveling abroad.

Soapbox Moment: We have been bombarded with elements of FBI scandals "at the top" since the summer of 2016...and we still do not know the depths and breadth of how bad the FBI has tainted our trust... can you imagine how little we would know if Hellary had won and redirected the US Attorney General and mainscream media to move on?

From the "a tad bit over reactive" department - Online story: "A British Paralympic athlete says she is furious after she was asked to prove that she was disabled by an employee of budget airline EasyJet. * Sophia Warner, a 43-year-old track and field Paralympian who has cerebral palsy, was flying from Milan to London when an EasyJet worker raised doubts about her need for special assistance. * Warner, who earned a silver and a bronze medal at the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships, took to social media after the incident to lament the way she was treated. * "I’ve not complained on twitter before. The order to publicly prove my disability incident by @easyJet yesterday was beyond devastating," wrote the athlete. * "I was told ‘you look completely normal. Why do you need help’ I cried all the way home. I don’t even know where to begin with a complaint." -- There's something not right about this person's reaction/response... With my layman's knowledge of cerebral palsy, I would wonder.. no .. maybe marvel, at a victim being able to race in sprint events, and probably would marvel and wonder if she was maneuvering around in an airplane with agility? Now, if I were the cerebral palsy athlete, and someone said to me, "you look completely normal, why do you need help", I would be flattered, and would take the time to educate "my new friend" on the disease and what the issues are.
---
Mainscream media and liberals are incredibly biased.. Now they are attacking Fox for a commentator's words of thanks.. "working the streets for us and Sean Hannity" to an investigative female reporter. I guess two things have contributed to mainscream media's reactions... first... mainscream media has no investigative journalists anymore.. it relies on "leaks" and "DIMocrat facts".. secondly, mainscream media does not know HOW to recognize a woman who actually prostitutes herself.. Stormy Daniel has become a celebrity while, in fact, her everyday job constitutes of her having to "fake" it.. Talk about the picture Webster should include in its dictionaries to showcase "Fake News"!
---
The NFL is changing rules on the field DURING the games.. after it failed to enforce rules prior to the games.. yet, the NFL.. the NCAA for that matter... have not touched a rule I think needs to be included.. It's already a penalty for a defensive tackler to put his hands on a runners "face mask", yet it's not an infraction for a runner to stiff arm a defensive tackler's "face mask". Do I want to take the "stiff arm" away from runners? No way.. it's part of the game, but it was included long before face masks were mandatory equipment..and runners get a definite advantage being able to do it.

Online story: "More than 30 suspected illegal immigrants have been detained by federal agents at a home in Phoenix, Arizona, according to government officials. * The Homeland Security Investigations unit of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Phoenix responded to the home late Tuesday evening for suspected human smuggling, according to Lauren Mack, an ICE spokeswoman." -- BUILD THAT WALL!
---
Online headline/story: "Mateen originally wanted to attack Disney Springs before Pulse * Pulse gunman Omar Mateen planned to shoot up the Disney Springs resort in Orlando, not the gay nightclub where he murdered 49 people. * Prosecutors made the revelation during closing arguments Wednesday in the case against his widow, Noor Salman * The killer may have been scared off by a heavy Orange County sheriff’s department presence around the complex, federal prosecutors said in court." -- "the killer MAY HAVE BEEN SCARED OFF BY A HEAVY ORANGE COUNTY Sheriff's department PRESENCE"? OMG! Good people with guns DID MATTER.... DO matter!

Online headline: "Colorado seeing rise in rabid skunks" -- Ooops.. thought this was going to be a story about marijuana or DIMocrat voters moving from California...

ABC took it on the chin when it took "Last Man Standing" with Tim Allen off the air, but really got a "left hook" from liberals who felt they have been suckerpunched by RoseAnne.

From the "progress is not static" department - Online headline: "Budget analyst: Georgia's decision to lower taxes leaves budget shortfalls" -- "Budget analysis"? Good grief.. when you put politicians in charge of analysis, they do not think out of the box.. maybe they don't think AT ALL! None seem to realize that too high taxes STAGNATE an economy, nor that lower taxes "STIMULATE" the economy, and a properly stimulated economy brings about increased tax revenues.
http://www.northwestgeorgianews.com/rome/business/budget-analyst-georgia-s-decision-to-lower-taxes-leaves-budget/article_5804202c-3146-11e8-a079-9f7e3aeb3e1d.html
From the "proof is in the pudding" department - Online headline/story: "Online headline/story: "Education, transit to benefit from state revenue hike * Georgia's growing economy is continuing to pay dividends to the state budget. * Gov. Nathan Deal announced Tuesday he is increasing his revenue projection for fiscal 2019 by more than $194 million, a move that will increase next year's proposed budget to $26.2 billion.
* Working with Georgia House and Senate budget conferees, Deal is recommending 11th-hour spending additions to both K-12 education and transit." -- Yeah, those political budget analysis wonks really know what they are talking about... NOT!

Online headline/story: "Ex-presidents praise Zell Miller as friend, servant, example * Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush drew laughter, applause and an occasional “amen” at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church as they recalled the remarkable and sometimes paradoxical public life of a man who rose from Appalachia to become a Georgia icon." -- Hmmm... wonder if Carter and Clinton "chuckled".. Bush43 for that matter, if anyone mentioned that Zell Miller blasted the DIMocrat Party for "leaving him"?

You've heard my opinion of Chamber of Commerce exec Amy Bryan running for Mayor without resigning from her current job, but here is another view expressed bu=y one of the other Council Post 10 candidates..

Weaponization of the Chamber of Commerce
March 25, 2018
Regardless of the outcome of the election for Council Post 10, we have seen for the first time the political weaponization of the Chamber of Commerce. In the past, the Chamber has required any paid employee to resign should they want to run for political office. By allowing Amy Bryan to remain as a paid employee in charge of community development, the Chamber has taken a stand in the political process. That is a concern for a couple of reasons.

The city provides money to the Development Authority that then provides money to the Chamber to assist in economic development for the city. This laundering of taxpayer dollars apparently provides sufficient separation to ensure that no laws are broken. Nonetheless, our money is supporting an organization, the Chamber, with a full time employee running for office. If Ms. Bryan wins, the Chamber will then have an employee in a position to influence directly the amount of money going to the Chamber through the Development Authority. Even if someone makes the argument that Ms. Bryan works community support and not economic development, the money still is going to some part of the Chamber so that the Chamber can use other money to pay her salary. Do we want an employee of any organization receiving local taxpayer money voting on the provision of that money to their employer?

Another problem with this goes to Ms. Bryan’s community support duties. Membership falls under this. I joined the Chamber on February 7, 2018, about a month before Ms. Bryan declared her candidacy. I have not received any notices of events related to the Chamber since I joined. I do not know if I am even in a database of members. However, the person from the Chamber who took my money knows that she did so. My credit card and bank know as well. So now, an employee of an organization I joined in order to show my support of their mission is opposing me in a political forum. The lesson is that the Chamber will gladly work against a member in the political arena. Anyone considering membership should keep this in mind before joining.

Allowing a full time employee of the Chamber to run for political office is at least interesting if not unwise. Precedent is being set. The Chamber is not apolitical any longer and should be treated as such. I do not know if this will help or hurt Chamber membership or its interactions with political or governmental bodies. Regardless of those effects, everyone should now realize that the Chamber has changed. The Chamber is now a political weapon. -- By John House"
Like I've said many time previously.. already.. we were blessed to have such good candidates like Tollie Strode, Jr and John House stepping forward and competing for one of the "at-large" Council Posts, and that I personally am supporting Tollie Strode because I've worked with him during the "Keep the Freeze" campaign and am impressed by b=his focus, love of Columbus, and his ability "to-get=things.... and the right things... DONE. but, I would not be disappointed if John House won..what I don't want is for those two be thrown into a run-off because of a "spoiler candidate" who is being allowed to keep her taxpayer funded job as she campaigns.. Let the race be determined by the main election..

L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS * Police target distracted drivers in 2 locations * Columbus police targeted distracted motorists in two high-profile locations Wednesday morning and issued more than 100 traffic citations, Lt. Clyde Dent said. * As part of an ongoing operation that started in June of last year, police used roadside spotters looking for distracted drivers and other violations. * “This morning there were a total of 111 citations,” Dent said. “Thirty of those were distracted driving citations. The others were miscellaneous citations — seat belt, tag violations, people running red lights and other various violations, even littering. There were three people arrested during this time." -- Hmmm .. 30 out of 111 citations were for "distracted driving".. I'm going to assume.. right or wrong.. this means some sort of "cellphone use" and that there were 111 violations written up from stopping 30 vehicles with drivers using cellphones. .. so while other "crimes" were "caught", it boils down to several police . "teams" being isolated at two points that no violent crimes were occurring .. Now, how many vehicles passed either of those points that trained lookouts could see no cellphone "distractions" stopped? What was the percentage of all those that got stopped?
---
From the "isn't it nice" department - Mainscream media explodes into euphoria whenever Trump sends another government head out of the building.. but.. the way I see it, is that Trump allow people to shine, and when they don't he gives someone else the opportunity, and that.. my friends.. is a blessing compared to past presidents who let incompetent people to just hang around until they can retire on the taxpayers' money.
---
Mainscream media's bias is showing - From the "way it ought to have been all along" department - L-E headline/story: "Trump plan would penalize immigrants who use tax credits, other benefits * Immigrants who accept almost any form of welfare or public benefit, even popular tax deductions, could be denied legal U.S. residency under a proposal awaiting approval by the Trump administration, which is seeking to reduce the number of foreigners living in the United States." -- Since when is looking after the best interests of American citizens a "penalty"? America loves immigrants.. we are a nation of such.. but.. a nation does not thrive when being a citizen of America subjects you to higher taxes to support illegal aliens.. or even "legal aliens" who are not trying hard enough to become American Citizens.
---
L-E headline: "Justices troubled by partisan gerrymandering" -- You know.. "gerrymandering" is not possible by political party leanings.. it's only possible by racial demographics.. If districts were balanced.. percentage wise by a state's overall racial demographics, who can say what would be fair... it certainly is not in the eyes of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr's "dream" that we see everyone by their character rather than the color of their skin.

---
Hmmm... Mainscream media's bias is showing - L-E headline: "As Trump targets immigrants, many brace to lose caregivers" -- Hmmm.. what a wonderful opportunity for Americans.. and legal immigrants seeking American citizenship.. to find a job.

Online headline: "China confirms North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited Beijing" - Hmmm.. Maybe Trump should invite Kim Jong Oooops to visit the US... by train...
---
Online headline/story: "Utah passes controversial 'free range parenting' law * The so-called “free range parenting” law allows kids to do things like play outside, ride their bike, or take a walk alone without parents facing any neglect charges." -- Good grief.. this is how our "Baby Boomers" grew up... grew up being responsible and accountable.. Of course, it's going to be doomed for failure when Utah liberals start filing charges against parents who allow their teens to go to movies rated PG by themselves..
---
From the "putting the cart before the jackass" department - Online story: "Virginia Tech sent out apologies Tuesday after video circulated of its women’s lacrosse team belting out n-word laced lyrics of a Chris Brown and Lil Dicky rap song." -- Talk about "killing the messenger"! The real message is that nothing is done about the offensive lyrics used in the rap songs.. but... but if the rappers use the 1st Amendment argument, then it's blatantly a racial discrimination case.. and law suit.. for forbidding anyone else from singing what's now in the public domain..
---
Online headline: "Congress didn't give Trump the money he wants for his border wall, so now he reportedly wants the military to build it" -- Hey.. the number one job of our military is to keep our borders safe.. and Mexico WILL pay for it via relieving US taxpayers of having to nursemaid illegal aliens..
---
Love seeing the Chappaquiddick incident of July 18, 1969.. Coverage was muted by the national interest/distraction of the Moon landing 2 nights later, but one question was never answered satisfactorily.. we knew that Ted Kennedy.. well none of the Kennedy men were "gentlemen" by Southern standards, but how did Ted get out of the sinking car yet Mary Jo Kopechne stayed trapped in it?
---
Online story: "A local Planned Parenthood office in Pennsylvania had some advice for the creators at Disney Tuesday after tweeting about the need for princesses who have “had an abortion” or are “trans.” * The tweet from Planned Parenthood Keystone, which was viewed by Fox News but has since been deleted, said, “We need a disney princess who’s had an abortion. We need a disney princess who’s pro-choice. We need a disney princess who’s an undocumented immigrant. We need a disney princess who’s actually a union worker. We need a disney princess who’s trans.”" -- or decades now, Disney has burned it's social candle at both ends.. promoting alternative lifestyles in the shadows while openly promoting it's "family values" to attract Mainstreet America. Now Disney is frantic.. after actively promoting a homosexual attraction of one "Beast" character to another, now other aberration entities want their "15 minutes" in the spotlight.
---
Online headline: "Mark Zuckerberg takes out full-page newspaper ads to say 'sorry'
" -- Whatta waste.. he could have just looked into a mirror and pointed to his image and seen "SORRY!".
The sad thing is that what Facebook has become is not what 6uckerberg imagined when Facebook was created.. but now he has hired other people to basically "run the show" while he's out enjoying his wealth, and he doesn't really have control of the direction anymore..
---
Almost 2 months have passed since the last report on the AMTRAK train carrying the Republican lawmakers/families was intentionally wrecked by that garbage truck.. intentional because the truck was driven onto the railbed after the warning barriers were closed and the 3 men intentionally did not not get out of the cab.
---
DIMocrats and mainscream media will try our patience.. and souls.. for the next 7+ months.. constant stories about "the blue wave" will dominate up to the November Election date.. basically trying to wear us out so we don't go to the polls. It use to work, but Trump changed this.
---
From the "there may be hope for California.. yet" department - Online headline/story: "California sheriff's office to publish inmates' release in pushback against state's 'sanctuary' law * The Orange County Register reported that the county’s sheriff’s department will publish a “Who’s in Jail” online database, including the date and time of inmates’ release, to help cooperate with other law enforcement agencies including Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE.)" -- There is hope.. for California.. and the safety of law enforcement officers and their families.. Local sheriffs are pouring out the Kool-Aid and thinking for themselves.. the sheriffs must have realized that when they let a dangerous illegal aliens back on the streets, their and their families' lives are put needlessly back in danger.
---
Online headline: "Steve Hilton on Census Citizenship Question: 'Perfectly Reasonable' for Gov't to Know Who Is a Citizen" -- Absolutely! Our Census must identify the status of each person counted.. we NEED to KNOW.. our Congress .. thus our Electoral College.. is based on the number of Americans living in states/districts, and giving states like California "credit" for non-citizens is .. basically.. traitorous!
---
Online story: "Despite earlier criticism from top Republicans, a bill is now set to pass the state Legislature that would ban people in Georgia from holding their cellphones while driving in most situations." -- You know.. I can see a Supreme Court challenge already.. based on any fines being discriminatory to lower income voters.. not every car is equipped with this capability, and many cars cannot be upgraded by 3rd party soft/hardware.
https://www.wabe.org/holding-phone-driving-banned-bill-set-pass-ga-legislature/
---
From the "where's the pride now" department - L-E headline/story: "KENDRICK HIGH SCHOOL
* Fourth suspected gang member charged in fight * Q***** L***** T*****, 18, was charged with participation in criminal gang activity, obstruction of a police officer and aggravated battery two days after the fight at 6015 Georgetown Drive. * T***** has pleaded not guilty to all the charges, denying participation in “Kids of the Ghetto,” a gang identified in a recorded video of the fight." -- "has pleaded not guilty to all charges"? You know... for street thugs seemingly proud to participate in crimes, why do they deny it in court? Juries should weigh their actions against their punkness when caught and tried.
---
L-E commentary headline: "At least Stormy Daniels is no hypocrite * BY LEONARD PITTS JR.
* At least Stormy Daniels is no hypocrite *BY LEONARD PITTS JR. * Miami Herald Miami Herald" -- Heh heh heh.. but Leonard Pitt's sure is a hypocrite.. of course, both are quite similar in another way.. both are media whores...they both do/say whatever they need to do to earn money without producing a product.

It's nice to see old friends getting along again...16 of the EU countries (et al) ..AND the US stood up.. together.. expelled the Russian diplomats/officials because of Russia's use of chemicals to kill an agent. I imagine Obama would have bowed down and apologized for not giving Putin the benefit of the doubt.
---
You know..my bride likes Pottery Barn... .therefore, I like Pottery Barn.. there's a certain comfort in liking decor you know most people like... I'm looking at the new Pottery Barn catalog.. the front cover highlights, "Lily Pulitzer....exclusively for Pottery Barn".. There should be a law...exclusive and Pottery Barn cannot be used together!
---
Did you see the backers at Senator UpChuck Schumer's' press "demand" demonstration calling for DIMocrat gun bills be brought to the "floor" within a week? What. .. 3 maybe 4 people actually clapped in support?
---
You know, mainscream media needs to ask it why it fawned over Obama bowing to Saudi kings while being upset that Trump called Putin following the Russian election.
---
From the "somethings just will not change" department - Online story: "The hard-charging folks at the Peachpod political podcast caught up with Democrats Stacey Abrams and Stacey Evans on whether they would revisit a new law that cuts taxes on Georgians by an estimated $330 million over the next half-decade. * Abrams, a former House minority leader, said she would push to reverse the cuts and funnel the extra cash instead into “real programs that would advance economic justice.” Her top priority is expanding Georgia’s Medicaid program, which Republicans have resisted over fears of long-term costs." -- Stacey Abrams said, "she would push to reverse the cuts and funnel the extra cash instead into “real programs that would advance economic justice"? Is not allowing hard working Georgians to keep more of their money not JUSTICE ALSO? I guess it doesn't matter whether a DIMocrat is a governor or Congressperson, they are against tax cuts.

It's not mine, but want to pass this along.. after seeing the numbers for "March for our Lives" being given typical DIMocrat status.. (enhanced and inflated figures), someone else renamed the movement... "March for our LIES". It';s a good fit.. and most appropriate..
---
Online headline: "NBC's Savannah Guthrie accused Stormy Daniels' attorney of 'playing games' over evidence of Trump affair" -- You know.. there's really only one question that needs to be asked .. and answered.. Is Stormy Daniels... or her attorney.. or ..NBC... or CBS.... the biggest whore.
---
Note: Gonna backtrack on my assertions about properties owned by a Mayoral candidate.. some confusion may exist dealing with unclear generational designations.. some other issues are being look at though..

Not sure what is is, but there must be MORE to learning that the father of the killer at the Pulse Club in Orlando was a FBI informant..for about 11 years... will keep looking..

From the "poll truth and nothing but the poll truth" department - Online story: "According to a new CNN poll, President Trump has recently experienced an uptick in his approval rating, climbing to a level not seen since the 100-day mark in his presidency.
* “42 percent approve of the way Trump is handling the presidency, 54 percent disapprove. Approval is up 7 points overall since February,” CNN noted. * The poll was conducted for the network by research firm SSRS. It took place from March 22 to March 25 and involved 1,014 phone participants." --- Hmm.. so the base is loyal as ever, and DIMocrats have no one who can woo the other 54% to see it "their way" in 2020.. America wins in 2020.. also!
---
Apparently the California "Rocketman" successfully fired himself into the atmosphere and walked away from the landing as well.. I don't think he proved the Earth is Flat though, because he didn't land at the same point he took off from.. What he did prove was that he has to be considered a serious contender in the next California governor's race..he may even be a "legal" alien.
---
From the "this is front page news.... really?" department - L-E headline: "Americans favor Trump plan to talk with N. Korea’s Kim" -- Good grief.. of course WE do...but the L-E feels Kim Jong Oooops will "win"...

L-E headline: "Concerns raised over proposed Horace King overlook bridge" -- Good grief///f course such would end up being used as a shelter for the homeless and a "canvas" for the street artists.. but that is nit the reason NOT to build it.. it would be spending... wasting... $1,000,000.00 of tax dollars and could never be the "whitewater viewing platform" it is suggested it will be.. a better already exists a half-block away on the 14th St Walking Bridge.. Of course if "powers that be" want it so bad.. why doesn't TSYS donate the funds... sorta as an apology for the burning down of Mott House...
---
L-E headline/story: "Ex-NFL player goes live on Facebook before police search car * Savage, 33, was pulled over while driving his 2010 Acura sedan near the Warm Springs Connector and Manchester Expressway for failure to maintain his lane, according to a police report. * Savage urged those watching the Facebook video to share it. * “You know they f-----g with me again,” he said. “For what particular reason, I don’t know.” -- You know... maintaining control a vehicle and controlling the integrity of a vehicle are responsibilities.. once stopped, when the officer runs the license number and past charges of drug crimes appear, the officer SHOULD ask about the possibilities.. Perhaps Mr Savage would be better off spending his money on maintaining the integrity of his vehicle than spending it on legal fees.

L-E headline/story: "Fake photo of Parkland student ripping Constitution goes viral * A doctored animation of González tearing the U.S. Constitution in half circulated on social media during the rally, after it was lifted from a Teen Vogue story about teenage activists. In the real image, González is ripping apart a gun-range target." -- "Constitution...gun-range target"? Hmmm.. maybe this boils down to simply whether she can read or not.

Anyway to look at it, "60 Minutes" and CBS have become the "National Enquirer" of TV, Not because it had Stormy Davis on it, but because CBS elevated Anderson Cooper to prime time. Didn't watch.. but that's not anything new, but scanning the online interview "high-or-low points" showed this will be CBS executive team's "pea" in the bed they made for themselves.

From the "facts don't lie" department - Online story: "Facts don't lie. That's as true now as it was at Donald Trump's January 2017 inauguration. * The estimated turnout at the March For Our Lives demonstration in Washington, D.C. falls at around 800,000. That data point comes from official connected to the demonstration's organizers, speaking to NBC." -- "Facts don't lie"? "comes from official connected to the demonstration's organizers"? Excuse me, but when has the left ever used "facts". The adage most appropriate here is, " Figures don't lie... but liars figure a lot".

But speaking of "facts"... fact is that the weather in Washington, D.C. was 58 degrees and Sunny.. and it was on a Saturday in Spring... and Spring Break for schools.. On the other hand, Trump's inauguration day was the 20th of January... on a work day.. in Winter...temperatures in the low 40's.. morning showers.. no umbrellas allowed... security checks at a maximum.. and celebrants had to have TICKETS to get in.

Yes.. "facts are facts".. but "apples ain't oranges". and "half-truths" are still "the blackest of all lies".

On the other hand, Washington protesters were safely guarded from potential mass murder by armed law enforcement officers...

Sunday evening update" CBS announced that proprietary aerial photos and counting logarithms showed the March For Our Lives in Washington attendance peaked at a maximum of about 200,000 ..not the 800,000 'fact' organizers put out.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Marching for their students, teachers say more guns in schools are not the answer" -- Hmmm... on the other hand.. teachers WITHOUT guns are useless in a school shooting situation.. "Facts are Facts"..

---
Online headline/story: "Gas inhalation blamed for death of Iowa family visiting Mexico *
Mexican authorities today blamed "asphyxia by inhalation of toxic gases" for the deaths of four Iowa family members vacationing in the Caribbean resort town of Tulum." -- It was eerie listening to ads for Mexican family vacation trips on the TV coverage of the Dell Match Play Championship while seeing the horrific news story about the Iowa family of four who checked into their vacation condo in Tulum but mysteriously died overnight.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Sen. Marco Rubio tells students he does not agree with the March For Our Lives" -- Wow.. Little Marco finally got his "man set".

From the "More NCAA tournament woes" department - Online story" " Michigan advanced to the Final Four for the eighth time in program history thanks in part to a friendly draw aided by a handful of massive upsets around them. Not only did the Wolverines not face a single team seeded fifth or better en route to the West Regional title, they’ll also be favored against South Regional champion Loyola in next Saturday night’s national semifinals." -- "did not face a single team ranked 5th or better"? In actuality, Michigan did not face a team ranked in the Top 20! Each bracket had it's own "seeds" so there were 4 teams of each seeding in the brackets. In fact, Michigan will face an 11th seed, Loyola of Shicago, to get into the finals.. Loyola was a 44th rank team at best.

Online headline: "Report: Patriots S Harmon caught with pot in Costa Rica" -- Officials told the paper they discovered 58 grams of cannabis inside a can of iced tea while doing a routine search of Harmon's luggage at the Juan Santamaria Airport. * In addition, airport police allegedly uncovered three pipes with cannabis oil, a THC candy and 4.3 grams of compressed marijuana in glass containers." * "This involved a professional NFL player, who tried to come into the country carrying marijuana. We (have) sent (him) back to US territory. It is important to highlight the work of different police bodies, who carry out important operations in different areas of the country. We want to prevent undesirable people from entering the country," Fiscal Control Police director Irving Malespín said." -- Duron Harmon does not know how lucky he was at getting "caught" trying to get into the country and sent back, rather than getting ARRESTED with it by the police (rather than airport security) AFTER he gained entry..Now, the big question.. how did Harmon get through baggage checks in Boston and Ft Lauderdale?

---
Online headline/story: "Report: Bolton poised to oust NSC staffers ‘disloyal’ to Trump * According to Foreign Policy magazine, “Those targeted for removal include officials believed to have been disloyal to President Donald Trump, those who have leaked about the president to the media, his predecessor’s team, and those who came in under Obama.”" -- You know.. this is what should have been normal.. political appointees/hirees under a previous administration SHOULD have their resignations already on the incoming president's desk, and let him/her decide which ones to accept, and which ones to keep on.. The president should not have to decide on "firing them for cause".

There's a strange list circulating.. one concerning "States Where the Most People Live With Their Parents".. it compares children between the ages of 18 and 34 who live with their parents.. it compares the percent who lived with their parents in 2005 versus who lived with them in 2015.. The top nine states (MA, RI, PA, CA, FL, MD, NY, CT, and NJ) had one particular element in common.. all voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012..

From the "Rip Van Winkle only slept 20 years.. it's been 44 since the "Roe v. Wade" Supreme Ct decision" department - Online headline/story: "New York's Cardinal Dolan: Democrats have abandoned Catholics * Last year, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez insisted that pro-life candidates have no place in the modern Democratic Party." -- Good grief... even if the Cardinal was anti-abortion 99% all along, turning his eyes away from the fact that DIMocrats see nothing wrong with barbaric PARTIAL-BIRTH ABORTIONS should have caused a separation a long time ago. I can only imagine that the Cardinal finally stopped using Hellary's Kool-Aid in the sacramental wine goblet.

From the "an Obama appointee.. a Californian one at that, must have led the initial investigation" department - Online headline headline/story: "Driver's crash, fiery death at Travis Air Force Base have investigators stumped * Investigators said Friday that they are stumped as to why a man drove a flaming minivan -- carrying propane tanks and gasoline containers -- into Travis Air Force Base in Northern California this week, and they see no evidence of terrorism. * A man identified as Hafiz Kazi, 51, from Sausalito, Calif., died in the Kia minivan Wednesday after veering through the main gate at Travis and crashing, FBI Sacramento agent Sean Ragan said." -- "see no evidence of terrorism"? A man named Hafiz crashes a flaming vehicle carrying propane tanks and gasoline containers into the front gates of an American military base IN THE US, and no one in California can see evidence of a possible.. no... PROBABLE terrorist attack? Bolton.. get out to California .. today!..and fire them ALL!

Online headline: "CNN's Chris Cuomo is sick and tired of Kellyanne Conway complaining about Hillary Clinton" -- Hat Chris.. that is only a small penance compared to the pain most America hears when you idolize Hellary... and your dad..

From the Ol' Philosopher's Soapbox: I think I know why DIMocrat politicians want to address gun issues rather than mental health issues.. I honestly feel that to be a successful DIMocrat politician, one has to be mentally ill to be accepted by so many alternative groups...

In fact, solving gun issues would not help the mental health issues... but solving mental health issues WOULD help with sicko shooter issues.

From the "wow.. that'll be convenient... unless you're a rafter" department - L-E headline: "DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT _ Vacant riverfront mill may get new life as brewery" -- Perfect.. go to the brewery.. partake in a "sampling tour". and then step up to the railing and relieve oneself into the Chatt...

Writers note: If you are a liberal, this probably wasn't funny... but then again.. if you didn't find it the least bit amusing, you have publicly defined yourself as a liberal..

---
L-E headline: "US and China inch closer to brink of major trade war" -- You know.. we've seen decades of trade abuse with China and others, and it's cost many jobs here in America..and it will be getting worse if Trump doesn't put the skids on it.. Now, look at the trade deficits and economic demise of the 8 years of Obama and show me your debatable "facts".

---
From the "life as it should be" department - L-E headline: "Trump’s new team wants the world to blink first" -- we've come a long way in recovering from "the Apology Tour" of 2009..

Question: What has happened with "Together 2017"? Seems like it's fallen apart...

L-E COMMENTARY headline: "South Commons tank farm: What will happen next with this biohazard eyesore?" -- Hmmm.. I imagine the current mayor will allow this to be kicked further down her bicycle trail for the next mayor to address...

Online headline/story: "Trump moves to limit transgender individuals from military service * The White House said on Friday that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis had found that individuals with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria(*) presented a risk to military effectiveness. * "This new policy will enable the military to apply well-established mental and physical health standards ... equally to all individuals who want to join and fight for the best military force the world has ever seen," the White House said." -- Liberals cannot have it both ways... well, at least not and be cleared to carry guns. Isn't all the aberrant action at school shootings about mental health issues? What parents of a soldier would want to find out their son died because their son asked Brad Manning to "watch my back" and find out that "Brad" had "left" , and Chelsea was now in the foxhole?

(*) - Gender dysphoria is not the same as gender nonconformity, which refers to behaviors not matching the gender norms or stereotypes of the gender assigned at birth. Examples of gender nonconformity (also referred to as gender expansiveness or gender creativity) include girls behaving and dressing in ways more socially expected of boys or occasional cross-dressing in adult men. Gender nonconformity is not a mental disorder. Gender dysphoria is also not the same being gay/lesbian.

Online headline: "Andrew McCabe slams Trump for celebratory tweet after his firing" -- DOH! Who'd expect anything else from someone who had been slamming the president while he was working for him? McCabe also defines the attitude of what Obama installed in our government during his 8 year stretch.. hard working, taxpaying Americans don't matter... except for the revenue we can confiscate from them.

---
Robert Kraft sent his team plane to carry protesters from Parkland, FL's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to Washington, D.C. to be part of the "March For Our Lives"..You know, this may be worse than NFL players "kneeling" during the National Anthem disrespecting our military and law enforcement. What kind of person sends a plane with "Patriots" painted on the fuselage to carry protesters against the 2nd Amendment?

---
From the "poll truth and nothing but the poll truth department - Online "headLIE": "Poll: Americans want armed school guards, tighter gun laws" -- You remember polls..like the ones that said Hellary would win BIG over Trump...Liberal pollsters manipulate "the truth" by posing questions aimed at getting only the responses they want..getting to the "truth" is not part of their agenda. What Americans really want is for mental cases to be separated from normal society.

There's a list out of the "50 Worst Action Movies of All Time".. I'm posting a "link" to it.. not wanting you to necessarily read it, but just to know it exists.. it's BOGUS.. not only is the WORST ACTION MOVIE not #1, it's not even on the list of 50.. the Dustin Hoffman/Warren Beatty 1987 movie, "Ishtar" is the hands down WORST MOVIE as well as WORST ACTION MOVIE ever in Hollywood history!

---
TRUMP was pretty smart in signing the "Continuing Resolution" bill..
It shows how bad Ryan and McConnell were in negotiating spending issues with the DIMocrats, and Trump was not going to be blamed for shutting down government to cover - up the Ryan/McConnell inadequacies, nor give up great military spending parameters.

---
So, Government wasn't shutdown ...did you really think you would be at a loss or inconvenienced?

---
DIMocrat spinmeisters must be pulling their hair out...on Friday, they were out in droves supporting the stop gap spending bill because of what was included in it to support the military! Beginning Monday, they will be out complaining that too much is being spent on our military..

---
Is could be my imagination, but I swear the US flag flying over the White House is flying higher and prouder now than anytime in the past 10 years..

The death of Zell Miller couldn't come at a worse time.. Some GA legislators
are looking into stripping the one redeeming grace out of the lottery purpose of helping Georgians who want to go college achieve such. Putting "financial need" above "educational achievement" is wrong.. and Zell Miller would fight to keep the original concept intact.

---
Talk about timing...Cardinal Dolan of NY spoke the same words as Zell Miller did years ago. Zell Miller just handed off the torch shining the light of truth.. the truth about DIMocrats...DIMocrats have abandoned America.

---
From the "the truth is" department - You know, if Hellary were innocent of the e-mail and dossier issues associated with her, she would be out pushing for the unredacted documents to be made public.

---
Online headline: "Disturbing survey finds trash, needles, feces littering streets of San Francisco" -- Hmmm.. this is probably why San Francisco was declared a "Sanctuary City".. there was no way SF could claim to be a "Sanitary City" with illegal aliens living on the streets.

---
Online headline: "Ruth Bader Ginsburg rules that hot dogs are sandwiches" -- Hmmm.. And some Supreme Court judges are "hot dogs" as well... what a wonderful potential epitaph for Justice Ginsburg.

---
You know.. I wonder if Mayor Tom-LYING-son will even try to get any more of her
"whims" approve before the May elections.. one of her rubber stamp votes had to resign to run for Mayor, one has decided not to run for re-election, two have passionate, but not serious challenges, and one .. Bruce Huff.. we can count on..

---
L-E headline: "Zell Miller remembered as a great friend of Columbus" -- Yeah.. one of the first to recognize that "The DIMocrat Party left him!". Unfortunately, neither the L-E nor current Columbus DIMocrats still haven't learned that lesson..

The death of Zell Miller couldn't come at a worse time.. Some GA legislators

L-E commentary headline: "May the Parkland kids forgive us for failing them so miserably * BY LEONARD PITTS JR." -- Good grief.. not going to read Pitts' content, because I'm sure it doesn't agree with the headline, but liberals really have failed them.. and are manipulating them still.

I cannot completely contain myself, but will limit this to a single question..were tickets sold online for Saturday morning's event at the River Center?

The AJC has this headline/story "floating".. "These Georgia cities have the worst credit scores in the country, report says * After analyzing the results, they found that four Georgia cities had some of the lowest credit scores in the country. Union City, Riverdale, College Park and Forest Park were all in the bottom 20 nationwide"

Meanwhile, "A new report from Experian reveals that, in the U.S., the average credit score in 2017 was 675, up two points from 2016
1 - Greenwood, Mississippi: 624
2 - Albany, Georgia: 626

-- Haven't delved into the Experian report, but Congressman Bishop's Albany is the second worse in THE COUNTRY.. I imagine Columbus and Macon.. two other Din Congressman Bishop's "control" aren't much higher up the ladder.

Hmmm... wonder when the first lawsuit will be filed countermanding the "open container" laws of drivers driving within the confines of the "Downtown Open Roaming Area"? Bicyclists, too.. or passengers in Uber vehicles....

Hey.. what a great combo option the Uptown Columbus executive director is advocating.. carrying your drinks with you as you exercise your right "to carry" a gun with a permit..

L-E headline: "Poverty, crime and economic development among topics at Mayor Tomlinson’s forum" -- Well, it's about time she addressed them.. wish she'd done this 8 years ago..

Yesterday we saw why match play golf lost favor with the TV coverage companies. It wasn't because Bubba Watson tore up Kevin Kisner in a match of UGA Bull Dawgs, but because the announcers didn't know how to fill-up time/space with pertinent conversation or information

---
NBC really pooped out on the PGA Matchplay tournament...both matches ended before 6:00 PM, and coverage was scheduled to 7:00..and it couldn't run those high priced ads if the play goes down to the wire

What happened to the "Home of the 2006 Little League Champions" signs at Columbus City Limits crossing the 13th St Bridge from Alabama?

---
I have a wish for MCSB candidates...whether incumbent or new candidate..even sitting representatives not running this year...promise to get rid of the policy prohibiting individual representatives from asking direct questions to the Superintendent.
The current policy just doesn't allow individual representatives the freedom to go after details of administrative decisions.

---
Times..they are a changin'....we went to the Gulf last week.. we came back through Dothan on Sunday and saw something I was not expecting... remember the giant metal pig off Ross Clark Circle..the one more or less marking the scrap metal business further off the road..it was pink for a long time, but more recently painted to honor the Crimson Tide.. did a double take this time..now it's dressed out in an orange and blue Auburn scheme..wonder if there was a football bet involved or a change in management?

From the "California's next governor" department - Online headline/story: "Rocket launch will prove Earth is flat, California man says * A California man intends to launch himself 1,800 feet high on Saturday in a home-built rocket to prove that astronauts faked the shape of the Earth. * Mike Hughes, a 61-year-old limo driver, said his stunt will be the first phase of the flat-Earth space program, sponsored by Research Flat Earth, a group that believes Earth is, well, flat." -- You couldn't make up a movie script about this.. Governor Moonbeam followed by Governor Rocketman.

Just looking at Council Post 10 candidate Amy Bryan's job title with the Chamber of Commerce..."Executive Vice President - Community Development and Growth".. Doesn't look like she can run on her record.....

Was looking at Amy Bryan's Financial disclosures.. She lists a Rental; property she owns as valued "Between $5.000 and $100,000", but she does not list an address. Anybody know where this is?

---
Is this a conflict of interest? See where MCSB District 6 candidate Eddie Obleton lists his profession as an Assistant Principal ... in the RUSSELL COUNTY School District.. seriously.. does anyone else see confusion if not conflict?

---
Looks like Skip Henderson has some "splainin' " to do..too .. He's listed with H1 exemptions at two addresses on Comanche Rd.. 9523 and 9555, and listed as owner/co-owner on a total of 14 properties, and only 1 of the properties is listed on his Campaign Financial Disclosure filed March 8, 2018..

From the "do wish it was this easy to get all repairs tended to" department - L-E headline/story: "Black smoke wasn’t normal for Metra Transit bus on Veterans * Concerned about possible air pollution from the thick smoke, she grabbed her cell phone and sent a picture of the bus for a closer examination. After a photo of the smoking bus was delivered to Metra Transit director Rosa Evans, bus No. 1212 was immediately pulled from the service fleet." -- A simple phone picture got immediate results.. sorry to say it doesn't always work this fast on other City problems. About 2 weeks ago, I sent a picture of the pothole in front of my street to Council, and it still hasn't been fixed...

---
L-E headline: "Council to weigh plan to remove tanks from South Commons" -- The state should do this.. but it's gonna be a while.. Mayor Tom-LYING-son will "kick these cans down a bike trail" for the next mayor/council to deal with...

Friday, March 23, 2018

Even aside from the fact that entering the US illegally is a crime in itself, an even bigger "crime" is that the DIMocrats argument that illegals are essential to our economy. While it still wouldn't change their illegal status, it would be one thing if illegal aliens added to our tax revenues rather than our welfare/indigent healthcare expenses.

---
Well, Mayor Tom-LYING-son lied to us again to get Council to eliminate our twice-a-week garbage pick-ups.. W\e stayed in a private rental home in the Florida Gulf area, and we got Tuesday AND Friday pick-ups.

---
Online headline: "Congress approves $1.3-trillion spending bill, sends to Trump" -- Have you noticed that when Congress passes a partial term, "Continuing Resolution" bill, it's simply referred to as a "spending bill"? It's treated as a child's "allowance". not a family's "budget". You know, when a "budget" is actually drawn up, it focuses on covering the essentials.. the NEEDS.. of a family rather than the "wants". "Wants" are secondary.. "wants" are "lagniappe" (something given or obtained gratuitously or by way of good measure). Family's can reward themselves when the expenses allocated come in less than expected, or when a "bonus" is received from an employer that becomes "disposable income" (or set aside in a "rainy day" fund).

---
You know, we have too many "spenders" versus "budgeters" in our local government entities..We are getting "wants" of the politicians versus the "needs" of the community taken care of.. the Mayor "wants" dog runs, indoor swimming, bike trails, new replacement buildings, roundabouts, and $244,000.00 unmaintained (and usually not even open) bathrooms instead of streets safe to walk or drive on. And our School Superintendent wants $312.00 a square foot metal-on-slab wrestling buildings, $3.600,000 high school baseball fields, and rebuilding an unnecessary high school rather than boosting teachers' pay or adequate teaching aids in the classrooms.

Ah! 29 years ago today, I put out my last cigarette...

Online headline/story: "March for Our Lives: Everything you need to know about the gun control protest * According to the official march website, some 838 events will be taking place around the world in conjunction with March for Our Lives efforts — with a central rally taking place in Washington D.C. Other cities including New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles are also scheduled to host events" -- Hmmm, and you can bet there are armed law enforcement officers on duty protecting all 838 groups from mentally-ill crackpot with guns.. Unfortunately, even armed law enforcement officers cannot protect the 838 groups from mentally-ill crackpots disguised as socialist organizers.. or themselves.

You know, maybe we need background checks on "antifa" protesters and organizers as well..

From the "it's refreshing to have a businessman in the White House rather than a politician" department - Online headline/story: "Trump says he would tell 25-year-old self not to run for president * During the White House millennial forum on Thursday, President Trump was asked what advice he’d give his 25-year-old self, knowing what he does today. * “Don’t run for president,” he replied. * The line got big laughs, and Trump went on to note, “all my life I’ve gotten really, you know…I got the greatest publicity. I was getting such great [coverage] until I ran for office.” -- You know, but by being honest, Trump was ready to become president and survive the assault by career politicians and mainscream media for being strong in his beliefs.. Too bad no one told Bush43, the Clintons or Obama that getting "popular" coverage means you were not doing the job of a real president.

Appeasing sycophants in Congress or mainscream media is not what an effective president does.. it doesn't work in the private sector either.... ask Jeff 6uckerberg at 6acebook.

---
From the 'but some animals are more equal than others" department - Online headline/story: "Maryland and Washington DC summon President Trump in a lawsuit alleging that he's violating the Constitution * The Emoluments Clause bars public officials from receiving gifts or cash from foreign governments, and ethics experts and lawmakers have repeatedly raised concerns over the patronage of Trump's properties by foreign government officials." -- Hmmm... and the Attorneys General of Washington, D.C. and Maryland felt the 100s of millions foreign countries and business interests donated to the Clinton's Foundations were not violations of the "Emoluments Clause".. not even the "gift" that got Russia 20% of our uranium supply?

You know.. Washington, D.C. is not a state.. nor did our Founding Fathers ever WANT it to become one.. how does giving Washington, D.C. Electoral College votes, or Congress even allowing talk about the possibility Congressional representatives get into the mix of the future of Washington, D.C.?

Am glad to see Columnist Richard Hyatt speaking out about the proposed wants of Uptown to increase public drinking.. you can read his views at:

I added commentary to his Facebook link: "Good start Richard, but you didn't broach a vital detail... the majority of CSU students are under-aged.. most students do not reach the drinking age of 21 until they are engaged in their 3rd year of college, and CSU's.. like other colleges, has more frosh and sophomores than Juniors/Seniors (drop outs from financial/scholarship changes) . Sure, most have fake ID's but use of them would be moot if bars and alcohol serving restaurants used the ID readers like our voting precincts.

There's a list of the "25 Worst Cities to Raise Children" in.. Looking at the criteria. especially the Graduation and Crime rate.. I was a little apprehensive about scrolling through the list..I breathed a sigh of relief that I didn't see "Columbus, GA" in the Worst 25... but I also was grateful the list was not longer.

---
From the "Grandpa McCoy, 'no brag, just fact' " department - What's with the criticism about Trump being proud of his accomplishments that actually happen.. Obama was always bragging about what only he thought were accomplishments.

Online story: "The independent Christian movie “I Can Only Imagine” performed far better than anyone could have imagined at the box office last weekend, bringing in $17.1 million when it was only expected to sell between $2 million and $4 million in tickets.
* Why? Because people of faith in this country are speaking loudly. The elitists on the left who continue to ridicule Christianity while they preach at us to coexist need to stop talking and start listening." -- A really good movie.. if you haven't seen it yet.. put it on your "to do".. it's a message of hope.. not a sermon..

---
Hmmm... You know.. with the absorption of Columbus Regional into the Piedmont Group, Columbus citizens no longer have a hospital that considers the needs of Columbus first. St Francis went first, and now Columbus Regional is governed by out-of-town interests, and the interests of Columbus citizens needs just went to the bottom of the corporate concern list.

And, of course, Columbus Council is still sending 3 mils of our property taxes to Piedmont...

Online headline/story: "'Bozo the Clown' performer Frank Avruch dead at 89 * Longtime Boston television personality and children’s entertainer Frank Avruch, best known for his role in “Bozo the Clown,” died on Tuesday at the age 89, his family said." -- Hmmm.. at least it won't be so hard for Boston to replace Bozo this time as in the past.. Massachusetts' own Pocahontas Warren has been working hard to replace him.

---
I tell you what..I'm not near as as concerned about my data being mined on Facebook by a political company as I am about what the FBI under McCabe and Comey collected. I try to limit as much personal info being published which would benefit a civilian company gleaning such to sell to advertisers, but I cannot stop the FBI from its demonstrated bias against conservative opinion.

---
I haven't figured out what department to classify current Lindsey Graham comments...a Fox anchor of the obviously "balanced" and "fair" persuasion rather than factual, asked Graham about Russian election interference.. Graham started out, "If I were president "... hold on Graham! ..you were thoroughly rejected by the Republican primary voters who overwhelmingly said , "We want Trump, not you to speak for us! We want you and the other Republicans to SUPPORT Trump and our wishes!"

---
I want to make sure this is on the front burner for all Columbus... all Georgia citizens for that matter, but there is a bill being floated around the GA Legislature that would change the rules on the Hope Scholarship. Some are thinking that Hope Scholarships only be awarded on a "need" basis, but that is not what was on the table when the lottery was being pondered and voted on.. if the legislature wants to pursue this new route, then the lottery itself needs be re-subjected to a voter referendum.

L-E headline/story: "Bolton replaces McMaster as top security adviser * Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, the battle-tested Army officer tapped as President Donald Trump’s national security adviser last year to stabilize a turbulent foreign policy operation, will resign and be replaced by John Bolton, a hard-line former United States ambassador to the United Nations, White House officials said Thursday." -- As skilled as McMaster is, it's time for a stronger opinioned spokesman to be America's lead in this area..the world is almost weaned off the Obama/Clinton/Kerry wishy-washiness, and Bolton will seal the deal.

---
From the L-E's "soundoff" replacement.. Two Cents Worth: "Georgia House backs push to keep lottery winners anonymous * “The winner should have a choice. Plus, I have always felt publishing the winners name makes them a target.” -- Good grief.. allowing anonymity just insures the probability of future lottery scams involving friends/family of lottery officials...

---
From the "is this really the best use of tax and donation funds for affordable housing" department - L-E headline: "NEIGHBORWORKS GETS NEW HISTORIC DISTRICT HOME" -- You know, the Historic District has a lot of rules and regulations involving construction and remodeling.. all of which drive up the cost of building/rebuilding homes in the area. Should not such funds be used in areas that do not demand materials be approved for its architectural compliance..

The photos and credits seemed to intentionally omit the NeighborWorks Executive Director... MCSB member.. and Historic District resident.. Cathy Williams..

From the "yeah, that's the ticket.... NOT!" department - Online headline/story: "Citigroup sets rules on gun sales by business clients * Citigroup is setting restrictions on the sale of firearms by its business customers, making it the first Wall Street bank to take a stance in the divisive nationwide gun control debate. * " -- Mainscream media and ill-informed liberals will rejoice... but... Good grief.. all small merchants will do is issue a handwritten specific receipt to it's customers for the merchandise, and run just the card amount through the authorization system. Most small businesses do this already..

From the "fair's only fair" department - Online headline: "Mueller homes in on obstruction of justice as he gears up to ask Trump about 4 key events" -- Hmmm, and rump and his lawyers should get a chance to ask Mueller about his actions under Obama .. under oath as well.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Elizabeth Warren introduced a bill aimed at dramatically increasing the affordability and reliability of health care coverage" -- Hmmm.. and for identification purposes, everyone should have to get a DNA test, starting with Pocahontas Warren, to help establish where everyone was born.
Oh, and why was she not on board the last 5 years with getting rid of OObamaCRAP and replacing it with her bill?
---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Footage shows the moment cops fatally shot unarmed black man Stephon Clark * Two officers with the Sacramento Police Department shot at Clark 20 times on Sunday night after police received a call about car break-ins. Clark, a father of two young children, was armed only with a cellphone when he died, and was in his own backyard. * Disturbing helicopter footage of the incident, released Wednesday, shows thermal images of Clark running through his neighborhood and hopping fences as two officers begin to close in on him. He stops at the home he shared with his grandparents and two sons. Seconds later, officers shoot him dead. * In body camera footage also released Wednesday, officers can be seen talking to neighbors before pursuing Clark in a foot chase. * “Hey, show me your hands!” an officer yells at Clark as they continue to chase him. As the two officers round the corner, one yells out “gun!” * “Gun! Gun, gun, gun!” he shouts. Both officers unleash a hail of gunfire on the unarmed man." -- Tragic.. but.. avoidable...running away when asked to stop by police officers created this situation. Don't you know the two officers weer just as concerned over their own lives..safety.. while chasing an unidentified runaway suspect carrying something in his hand...Pray for the officers, their families, and the family of the dead man.

Local update: Nearly four years after it was suppose to have begun, preliminary site work has been done at the River Road "roundabout" location.. None of the Current/former Councilors have come forward with the now projected costs. The last "estimate" was given in February of 2016 as $2,700,000.00 ($1.5 Million by the State, and $1.2 Million straight out of our City taxes). I'm not going to embarrass the one candidate... at least not YET... This candidate said on Feb 7, 2018, that the City had not put the project "out for bids". What BS.. Who among us has ever authorized a project at our homes where a reasonably close cost was not discussed PRIOR to starting? BTW, I haven't heard back and it's been 6 weeks now.
---
I want to apologize to Mayoral Candidate Henderson.. I previously wrote he had not answered a single e-mail question of mine in 10 years.. I was wrong.. I found a response he made in 2011. It involved commercial property ( PARID: 008 002 008 ) being bought for $1,400,000.00 in 2010 and being "Moratorium Valued at $578K and Moratorium Assessed at $231K, and taxes went down by $1,500.00. As to why, Skip said, "Not completely sure, Hal but I'll check." Of course he never did check (to my knowledge) and let me know.. BTW, that property today is FMV'd at $599,770.00.. Hardly seems fair for property bought for an agreeable amount of $1.4 MILLION.
---
Online story: "Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said "I'm really sorry that this happened," in his first interview on the massive Cambridge Analytica data scandal that has roiled the social media network this week." -- 6uckerberg's apology would be more accurate if he cut out the last three words of it.
---
There's a list out naming the 19 worst sports chokes.. this one names the Falcons loss to the Patriot in the SuperBowl, but we all n[know that that was not as big a choke as Greg Norman's loss in the '96 MASTERS, nor when Bill Buckner let a roller go between his legs in the '86 World Series. My guess is that too many of the "voters" weren't old enough to have seen those two events.
---
From the "Have you thought about this?" department - Why are so many "experts" ripping apart businessman/President Trump's economic recovery path? Did any one of these
"economic geniuses" ever figure out why Obama's "economic policies" were bring America to its knees..
---
I tell you what...I hope every sitting "establishment" Republican has an opponent in the primaries, I want a choice this time. I've seen too many blasting Trump for calling Putin to congratulate him. Trump has to work and deal with Russia, and like him or not, Putin is the president there.
---
Getting Trump elected has not solved everything we need to do..Too many of the establishment Republicans still haven't gotten the message..They complained that they couldn't get things done with a DIMocrat in White House, and now they still aren't getting things done..and it's because they liked the old way of doing business in Washington.
---
California officials claim they don't keep illegal aliens for ICE to pick up because of laws about keeping criminals incarcerated longer than their laws permit. Excuse me, but isn't it illegal to release an illegal alien out of jail so he/she is illegally breaking the law again for being in the US illegally?
---
From the "see what a little communication does" department - Mentioned how sad.. and BAD... it was that the MCSD hired someone from Atlanta to be the new principal at one of our schools yesterday.. one of the MCSB members took the time .. and effort .. to let me know that the man in question had actually worked here for 14 years before moving to a similar position as a principal in Atlanta. It's more of a "homecoming".. This is a much better picture of what happened than was released in the L-E.

L-E headline/story: "Downtown open container law headed to Columbus Council after slight change * The change was suggested by Columbus Police Department to control areas where people are walking around with open containers of alcoholic beverages in the entertainment district. The boundary is limited to Broadway from 10th Street to 14th Street and Front Avenue bounded between 12th Street, Bay Avenue and 10th Street" -- Good grief.. reducing the range is like putting a band-aid on an amputation.. it'll stop the bleeding for about 2-seconds.. to boot, it also creates a barrier to expanding places new restaurants can be created, and.. it doesn't do anything to curb the abuses that will surely happen from DT residents, cars that get parked inside the confined area, nor from minors getting their hands on a cup marked by the bar that sold it originally. Our police department will have it's hands tied checking ID's from the abundance of CSU students who are mostly under-aged.

An interesting point is the picture the L-E has used.. the Rankin Courtyard.. with the "new" smaller control area, the Rankin Courtyard would have to close 3 of the 4 access points.. the ones on 11th St, 1st Ave, and 10th Sts all fall out of the new area the Uptown Drinking Club bill specifies .
---
You know, the Junior League of Columbus is holding what it advertises as "kid friendly, an outdoor movie of "Sing" tomorrow night at Woodruff Park. Woodruff Park is one of the areas that "wandering drinkers" will have access to if the Uptown Drinking Club gets it's new law approved by Council... there won't be anything "kid friendly" about future events.

From the "Don Quixote jousts again department - Online headline/story: "GSU leading effort to get U.S. Civil Rights sites on the World Heritage list * An exhaustive effort is underway to catapult the international recognition of the modern Civil Rights movement in the South. * Georgia State University is shepherding the effort to get about a dozen Civil Rights landmarks to be nominated as World Heritage sites." -- Good grief.. While America has made great strides, the rest of the world could really care less.. There are more civil rights issues ongoing in China, Russia, all of Africa and in all Muslim countries today than in the worst of times here in America.

https://saportareport.com/gsu-leading-effort-to-get-u-s-civil-rights-sites-on-the-world-heritage-list/

One of the issues to be on the local table this or next year will be about whether Columbus is OK with a gambling Casino being built here.. I hope this is a topic at every political forum between now and the May election dates.. Every Council/Mayoral candidate should be up-front on this issue.. One thing all candidates need to understand that :it's not about potential money" such a facility may provide, but on all the crime and family damages that come with such an addition.

While I'm not happy with the Republican spending bill of $1.3 TRILLION, but I have to admit, a lot is necessary to reverse the downward spiral created by the Obama programs and Executive Orders. Like I said earlier, the establishment Republicans still don't understand why the American voters sent Trump to the White House..and Republicans need to embrace the wishes of the American voters who will turn them out over time unless certain issues get done.
---
The Washington Post just published a "meet and greet" story on the women who have sued President Trump... does anyone remember a favorable story about ALL the women who came forward about Bill Clinton's sexual assaults/affairs?

L-E headline/story: "SOUTH COMMONS *Blighted tank farm could come down but costs and more remain * Mayor Teresa Tomlinson said Wednesday that the city has been in negotiations with the Georgia Ports Authority, which received the state docks site from the city in the 1960s to operate a port for barges along the Chattahoochee River * But not everybody is as optimistic about the pending agreement. Local historian Virginia Causey said it’s her understanding that the Ports Authority is paying half the costs to remove the tanks, but nothing for any of the other structures on the site. * “There are four rail lines, there are dilapidated sheds, there’s one big building and there’s a huge state docks site,” she said. “So, there’s a lot to be removed from that site. It was all built by the Ports Authority. * “The city of Columbus never got any rental income from the Ports Authority or their tenants; it all went to the Ports Authority,” she continued. * The results were that there was no contamination related to the tanks or otherwise the dispensing of the fuels ... ,” Tomlinson said. “There was one area of contamination, and actually it was as a result of the city - Columbus, Ga. - back many decades ago having used that as a dump site." -- Good grief.. we need Trump on board the negotiating team! Why does Columbus have any responsibility to pay for removal, but one thing the Mayor revealed that should open up an old discussion.. the one about building the tanks on an old landfill...and there not being any problems with the structures.. How about Spencer High.. the one they built on another landfill property.. sounds like the structural problems could have been avoided if the plan and construction methods had been proper. Think about it.. those tanks held 1000s of gallons of liquids which are the hardest structures to stabilize from motion and settling, and the fact that no structural damages have occurred pretty much exposes the Spencer High failure as avoidable

Stories are rampant about the death of "the last white rhino".. One question.. in today's time.. don't tell me DNA and sperm cells haven't been gathered and stored and available for clone procedures..

L-E guest commentary - Headline/content: "Not always like this * BY WALTER E. WILLIAMS *
Gun ownership is not our problem. Our problem is a widespread decline in moral values that has nothing to do with guns. That decline includes disrespect for those in authority, disrespect for oneself, little accountability for anti-social behavior and a scuttling of religious teachings that reinforced moral values. Let’s examine elements of this decline." -- I like Walter Williams commentaries, but here, he doesn't go far enough.. I consider all he listed as pertinent, but the real issue has become one of people who just don't respect life itself..

The Austin Bomber is dead..ironically at his own hand to avoid capture..While I could care less knowing anything other than he is dead, it's scarier that he didn't surrender like the coward he was so he could 'bask" in his own infamy.. Don't you know that Mainscream Media is running around like a chicken with its head chopped off.. all those exploding packages have left them wondering how to blame the packages.. versus the bombmaker/sender...

---
With what's going on in Austin, TX, I'm sure glad Comey and McCabe aren't running the FBI.

---
Congressman John Yarmuth, D-KY, stated he was "proud" of the "F" rating he received from the NRA and has asked all other DIMocrats to join him by wearing a button with an "F" on it everyday until the GOP helped pass a gun legislation. Let me tell, you.. Yarmuth and the rest of the DIMocrats EARNED "F" before the NRA Award when voted for OObamaCRAP without reading it, and when they refused to stand and honor our military during Trump's SOTU speech.

Online headline: "Mystery dinosaur skeleton to be auctioned in Paris" -- Ooops, my bad.. thought maybe the DNC finally found a way to get rid of Hellary.

Public Notice: If you have "Toys "r" US" gift cards.." use'm or lose'm ".... they become

Online headline/story: "'Ashamed' Fox News contributor quits, blasts 'propaganda machine' * Retired U.S. Army officer Ralph Peters blasted Fox News in an email to colleagues explaining his decision earlier this month to not renew his contract with the network as a "strategic analyst." * Today, I feel that Fox News is assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers. Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed."" -- Good grief.. if you heard Peters in the past 6 months, you'd think he was part of the NFL "kneelers" brigade.. Fox probably dropped him..

From the "perfecta" department - Online headline: "Jim Carrey follows up his apparent Sarah Sanders portrait with one that resembles Trump" -- Hmmm.. looks like Jim Carrey has fully evolved.. now we know he has no talent as a painter... either.

---
It gets worse... for the NCAA "Sweet 16" matchups.. Only 7 of the originally ranked top 16 seeds made it to the "Sweet 16", but one of the 7, Perdue, will be playing without it's star 7'2" center..

I'm copying a post by a mostly friend... but sometimes polar opposite... Columbus "celebrity".. celebrity in the sense he's been a community leader in his youth (last century), served on our Council for two terms, and well-known (on his block) marketing --commercial and political- guru..

Per Jack Basset on Facebook:

"Our Chamber of Commerce has always claimed to maintain political neutrality in individual races. Their philosophy has been that the Chamber represents the entire community and never took positions in favor of individual political candidates.
With their approval of Amy Bryan candidacy the Chamber endorses a very nice and capable candidate, but, its bad for the chamber membership and I think a conflict of interest for the Chamber.

The Chamber receives a million dollars from the city every year to assume responsibility for the operation of the Development Authority. I served as a Council member for eight years and we always thought of the funding for the Development Authority as a legal way to give city funds Chamber work. It appears to me that Council Ordinance 17-50 prohibits these funds from being received by the Chamber if they have an employee running for political office.

Now the Chamber will say that the Development Authority is in no way affiliated with the Chamber - legally totally separate. Does it feel separate to you?
If the Chamber wants Ms. Bryan to continue as a candidate the city should assume responsibility for operating the Development Authority.

Then, local businesses need to decide if they want to remain a member of a politically active Chamber of Commerce."

I have already questioned the ruling allowing Ms Bryant to maintain her day-job while she campaigns for a Council Post on the same basis as Mike Edmondson, candidate for a MCSD seat, had to resign from his MCSD job. Both are paid with tax funds..Ironically, I figure the best she will do as a 3rd entry into the Council Post 10 election is to throw
the race into a runoff.. which will be an additional expense on the taxpayers.

Big news in the mainscream media world is that Stormy Daniels passed a lie-detector test.. hmmm.. like she's not a professional at "faking" other things on cue, too.

---
Online headline: "Stoneman Douglas students arrested for knives, deputy suspended for sleeping on job" -- and combined with the killer's brother showing up on campus, looks like the Broward County sheriff.. blah-blah Israel hasn't a clue how to run school security.

---
Online headline/story: "Illegal immigrants, who dodged California ICE raid after Dem mayor's tip-off, re-arrested for new crimes * Three illegal immigrants, who avoided capture after Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf blew the whistle on a raid by federal immigration authorities last month, have since been re-arrested for new crimes including robbery and spousal abuse, ICE officials said" -- Hmmm.. I think a federal judge should take command of the situation, and order the 3 illegals be confined to "house arrest".. at the Mayor's house.. for the next 5 years.. then departed.

---
Our Mayor claims that Columbus has been voted as a Best Run City in both 2016 and 2017...if so, it's only because cities with DIMocrat mayors were considered, and I imagine all of them "tied" for 1st and it's little more than a participation trophy. Personally, how can any mayor claim leadership when her signature effort to raise property taxes was rejected by 62% of the voters.

---
Online headline: "Gutfeld: Hillary 'Bitter' Because 'Decades of Doing Her Husband's Bidding Didn't Pay Off' -- Poor Hellary.. bless her heart.. she just doesn't know when to stop digging.. she complains that white women do their husbands biddings, yet she's a white woman that has done nothing but her husband's biddings all her life..

---
Online headline: " (Charles) Payne on Wealthy Dems' Town Hall on Income Inequality: The 'Hypocrisy' Goes On * Sanders, Warren, (Michael) Moore slam 'rise of oligarchy.'" -- Good grief.. straight out of "Animal Farm".. a bum[nch of pigs claiming all animals are equal, bur some are more equal than others.. Ask any of the 3, how did you accumulate wealth if you champion sharing it with others?

---
Mainscream media doesn't have a chance at figuring out Trump maneuvers.. even Newt Gingrich says he is confused by Trump's twitter tactics.

From the "what if the situation was reversed" department - Would President Nieto of Mexico be concerned if skilled illegal aliens from the US were sneaking in and filling all the hi-tech jobs created when American manufacturers moved their plants to Mexico?

---
Heard Peter Schweitzer promoting his new book, "Secret Empires" on Fox yesterday.. Schwietzer also wrote, "Clinton Cash". In "Secret Empires", Schweiter delves into behind the scene deals children/families of politicians get into with foreign countries that do not have to be revealed by the candidates themselves. I'm going to buy a copy this week..his examples were horrifying... especially Hunter Biden's dealings and we know how well he treats his own family...

---
Whoa! Taking social security numbers off Medicare Cards will INSURE increases in abuse of the system...Drs/hospitals will not know if they are treating illegal aliens who get them.4

---
L-E headline: "Crime, schools top concerns in On the Table survey" -- This is funny when you compare what citizens think about how Columbus is run, and how Mayor Tom-LYING-son currently boasts how Columbus is a Best Run Top 50 City for 2016 and 2017.

---
I tell you what.. promotions and transfers.. I understand, but when a open principal MCSD position is filled by an out-of-towner, there's something wrong about this.. It's not even about the qualifications of the "out-of-towner", it's about either not having a qualified individual within the system or giving an out-of-towner a position that a qualified local employee could do.

Leonard Pitts asks, "What to do about Louis Farrakhan?" - Well, Leonard, you helped create him.. and under report what he was/is, and now you are trying to dodge your responsibility by throwing up your hands. Fish or Cut Bait!

Wake up you sleepy heads.. today is the first day of Spring 2018!
---
From the "if you're explaining, you're losing" department - Online headline/story: "Clinton offers explanation for controversial comments on female voters, Trump supporters * Clinton offered a variety of explanations, including the suggestions that Trump supporters are more nostalgic than forward-thinking and female voters are still largely influenced by their husbands. " -- Her words and actions speak for themselves, there's only one conclusion.. Hellary's a LOSER!
---
From the "Deja Vu doesn't seem to matter" department - Online headline/story: "Nikolas Cruz's brother arrested for trespassing at high school * Zachary Cruz, 18, rode his skateboard through the Marjory Stoneman Douglas campus in Parkland despite being warned to stay away from the school, * The younger brother of accused Florida high school shooter Nikolas Cruz was arrested Monday for trespassing on the grounds of the school where 17 people were killed, authorities said. * Cruz reportedly told the deputies he went to the campus because he wanted "to reflect on the school shooting and soak it in," an arrest report obtained by the newspaper says." - There's one BIG question not answered in this story.. did authorities arrest him on the campus, or did hey just catch up with him somewhere else later? If security was improved..better than before.. you'd think the authorities would be bragging LOUDLY about catching him on the school grounds.
---
Another from the "deja vu moment" department - Online headline: "Florida school plans moment of silence for bridge collapse victims" -- Good grief.. don't you think the collapsed bridge has already "silenced" the victims? Maybe FIU just needs to hire Hellary to come explain "What Happened" to the victims' families in a court of law.
---
The first military parade scheduled in Washington, D.C. for Veterans Day this November will be interesting.. will Pelosi show up and stage another DIMocrat sit-in?
---
While we were in Florida, we came out from a delicious meal at AJ's of Grayton and found a note under the wiper blade.. a couple had seen the "Trump 2020" sticker on my back window and expressed how much the LIKED IT! Even better was they left their names and that they were from Illinois. Want Illinois be a real plum to add to Trump's Electoral College vote total in 2020.
---
There's a new list out... "The Worst School District in Every State".. I hate to admit it, but I had a sigh of relief to find it wasn't our MCSD.. Clay County was the "winner"
Georgia
> Worst school district: Clay County School District
> Location: Clay County
> Per student spending: $13,091 (total enrollment: 308)
> High school graduation rate: N/A
> Adults with a bachelor’s degree: 7.4%
What's scary is that there is more spent per student in Clay County than Muscogee County.. it also confirms throwing more good money into a bad situation doesn't help much.
---
From the "when will mainscream media learn" department - Online headline: "Trump unveiled his opioid plan. Here's what he didn't say." -- Good grief.. mainscream media is desperate.. it cannot explain what Trump does say, so now it will focus on what Trump doesn't say..O course, if it was Hellary, mainscream media would be focusing on explaining what she meant....
---
Online headline: "Woman dies in Arizona after being hit by Uber self-driving car" -- Hmmm... watch the number of deaths rise when driverless UBERs start delivering McDonald's meals to people at home..
---
I mentioned a L-E story about recycled rubber-tire playgound equipment in Columbus burning up yesterday.. I was informed that such compounds were subject to spontaneous combustion.. I looked it up, and he was right.. I do suspect that the temperature in Columbus yesterday wasn't hot enough to cause this, but it is of concern for hot summer days.. While some other form of ignition is more likely in the case of this equipment breaking out into fire, the fact that such material CAN self-ignite brings up concerns as to why this material is USED at all in making playground equipment.
---
I am flabbergasted that I actually impressed with Alan Dershowitz's evaluation of the situation at the FBI. I remember him originally as a liberal defender of whatever the Clinton's did, and now he's done a complete reversal ...
---
From the "it is a collusion" department - Online headline: "Ousted FBI official McCabe offered jobs by Dem lawmakers so he can get full pension" -- Wait a minute! McCabe brought this on himself placating DIMocrat appointed/colluding Justice Department executives.. and in no way should the American taxpayer have to shoulder the responsibility of providing McCabe with a lifetime pension or "perks"
---
McCabe may have just got fired last weekend..but it was for his YEARS of corrupt behavior.
---
I tell you what, if anybody I can vote for criticizes the way McCabe was fired, I will support whoever runs against them. McCabe let down the FBI frontline agents, and every American who has to believe the FBI is the first and last defense against government corruption.
---
Florida will go Trump big in 2020...down on the gulf..new condo complexes are going up all over...Other than singles, and du&quad-plexes, very little been built in the last 8-10 years.
---
What is it with DIMocrats? They want to blame Trump for the DACA problem.. There wouldn't be a problem for Trump to fix if the DIMocrats hadn't created it to begin with.
One other thing.. how can courts support DACA.. DACA is not a legislative law.. it was an Obama directive...
---
From the "if the shoe was on a DIMocrat's hoof" department - Online headline/story: "Zinke defends 'konnichiwa' comment to Japanese-American lawmaker * Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke defended his use of the Japanese greeting “konnichiwa” when responding to a question from a lawmaker. * Zinke took heat last week after he said “konnichiwa” to a Japanese American congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa, D-Hawaii, who quizzed him over funding for the Japanese American Confinement Sites program. * Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif., called on Zinke to apologize for the remark: “Zinke's comment betrayed a prejudice that being Asian makes you a perpetual foreigner. Intentional or not, it's offensive. He should apologize.”" -- You know, if Zinke was a DIMocrat appointee, he would be being cheered for his acceptance.. I say "konnichiwa" when dining at our favorite Japanese Steakhouse in Columbus, .. I learned it from the restaurants "menu" of Japanese phrases.. I've yet to see anyone working there offended.
---
McCabe, Comey and other politically corrupted FBI execs needed to be made an example of! I was watching the FBI crime investigation trucks roll into Austin, TX to solve the serial bombings going on there, and those Austin citizens need to have their faith restored in the FBI.
---
Have you wondered why mainscream media and DIMocrats are concerned about whether Russia interfered with our elections, yet isn't concerned about illegal aliens, dead people, and felons actually voting in ours?
---
Our Clerk of Superior Court just passed.. a battle with a recurring cancer was the culprit. Our L-E went desperate to inform us that "(Mayor) Tomlinson held a news conference to express sadness for Hardman’s untimely death and inform the public of her replacement. She was dressed in black " -- We all join in prayer and sympathy with Ann Hardman's family, but, excuse me, what does what Mayor Tom-LYING-son WORE at a press conference have to do with acknowledging Hardman's death?
---
Thank goodness for President Trump and his respect and love of America and out military.. a good general, just moved upward from his command at Ft Benning, and we have another good one who can step right into his job, and "the caissons keep rolling along"? Thank you General Wesley, and welcome General Brito.. look forward to meeting you in the celebration of Ft Benning's 100th Anniversary.
---
There was a fundraiser for the UNCF this past weekend.. Representative Calvin Smyre of Columbus.. affectionately known as "the Dean of the (GA) House" was a speaker. Hey.. L-E.. how is that investigation coming in exonerating Rep Smyre from the "#meetoo" charges of news spinmeister Jehmu Greene? You cannot let her get away with besmirching Rep Smyre's reputation.
---
L-E headline: "Trump opioid plan includes death penalty for traffickers" -- Hmmm... wanna bet the L-E .. and DIMocrats .. are against this?
---
L-E "headLIE": "Students expect 1 million at gun control marches" -- WRONG!.. Mainscream media and DIMocrats may bus in a million Students for a photo-op.

---
L-E headline/story: "Paper ballot voting system mulled * The proposal would move Georgia from its 16-year-old electronic touchscreen voting system with no paper backup, to either a touchscreen system that prints a paper ballot or paper ballots marked by pencil. * Republican Rep. Ed Setzler of Acworth, one of the bill’s primary backers, said it was needed to ensure that election results could be audited if there were claims or evidence of irregularities and to bolster voter confidence." -- Good grief.. didn't stories of the re cent Russian election and it's "suspected" ballot stuffing claims wake any of these people up? Proponents have got to be kidding that pencil marked ballots will improve voting integrity... only advanced identification of voters.. at the polling places... and especially in absentee ballot centers, will insure more accurate voting results.
