A conservative's daily look at the news with an aspect of "Laugh-In Looks at the News" and "Johnny Carson's monologue" twisted in.

From a fellow BCer: "In regard to Clayburn's racist comments, about voter ID laws, it is enlightning to learn that Mr. Clayburn's sacred cow, organized unions, do require ID cards to be shown before their members are allowed to vote during union elections."

Online quote source: "A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road." - Henry Ward Beecher" -- Sorta sums up the whole liberal political correctness constipation problem.
---
Online quote source: ""My formula for living is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself as best I can." - Cary Grant" -- I knew it! He was a conservative! No wonder I like his work.
---
Online quote service: ""A nation which has forgotten the quality of courage which in the past has been brought to public life is not as likely to insist upon or regard that quality in its chosen leaders today - and in fact we have forgotten." - John F. Kennedy" -- No wonder the current DIM&DUMBERats don't like to use 'party of Kennedy' as slogan.
---
Online quote source: ""To wear your heart on your sleeve isn't a very good plan; you should wear it inside, where it functions best." - Margaret Thatcher" -- Hits the liberals number two problem dead smack on the head...The number 1 problem...? Obviously they sit down on their brains
---
Online quote service: ""A thoughtful mind, when it sees a Nation's flag, sees not the flag only, but the Nation itself; and whatever may be its symbols, its insignia, he reads chiefly in the flag the Government, the principles, the truths, the history which belongs to the Nation that sets it forth." - Henry Ward Beecher" -- In a nutshell, sorta explains why liberals wanna burn, change, or p*ss on it!
---
From L-E story: "Police are looking for two suspects, both black men in their early 20s with low haircuts." -- "low haircuts"? Does anyone have an idea what a 'low haircut' is?
---
Socialist L-E "soundoff": "Our prison/slave labor is the mark of a degenerate society. Organized labor is the mark of a free and democratic society. To promote and profit from the former is to embrace Empire over Republic." -- "to promote and profit"? How do these people look at something with such warped perspective?
---
Since house on Wildwood that burned was converted to a duplex, how can it have a H1 homestead exemption? In addition, this house bought in 2004 for $80K is valued at only $57K for tax eveluation purposes under some 'moratorium'. You have to wonder if the tax assessors office were run efficiently whether we actually need to have politicians trying to get rid of the tax freeze. There's probably more money not being properly collected that the budget needs.
---
L-E headline/story: "Man who was shot in left arm walks out of hospital * Police left hospital to investigate, victim was gone when they returned * There is no description of the shooting suspect." -- Since he was shot why is he referred to as a "shooting suspect", but more importantly, does Doctors Hospital expect us to believe it treated someone without getting basic information so it could submit the costs to Medicaid?
---
L-E headline/story: "UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA * Police ID man who fell into river at college party * Police have recovered the body of the University of Alabama student who fell into the Black Warrior River during a sorority party aboard a riverboat. * Police Sgt. Brent Blankley says it’s still unclear exactly what happened on the boat. " -- "unclear what happened on the boat"? This is definitely the odds on winner of the 2012 Barney Fife Award.
---
It's almost prophetic that universities are setting record enrollments all across the country. This actually gives some credibility to the "Occupy Wherever" demonstrations. Universities seem to be focused on the quantity of education rather than the quality of it .

If it's not Phil on top of THE leaderboard, we can certainly enjoy Fred being there.

Online headline/story: "Keith Olbermann Sues Current TV * The lawsuit also states that "Olbermann was disheartened to discover Al Gore, Joel Hyatt, and the management of Current are no more than dilettantes portraying entertainment industry executives." -- Olbermann just blew his case.....he had to know going in that Gore was a career dilettante executive.

potUS O'Blather could help the country's finances just by refusing to allow any Californian from serving as his Secretary of Defense (or as the House Speaker). Leon Panetta is 'required' to fly in a military jet wherever he goes so when he commutes back and forth to California and DC. Panetta pays the equivalency of $630.00 per round trip on flights that cost the military $32,000.00 each week. Since July when he took over, he's repeated this 27 times. He's paid about $17,000.00 out of pocket for flights costing taxpayers about $864,000.00. I just ran a search for the lowest roundtrip fares between Washington and LA and came up with $788.22 as the lowest. That's a $158.22 more than Panetta is being charged, so Panetta should at least repay US an additional $4271.94 for the 27 trips so far.

The guy that walked off a work detail the other day because he couldn't stand serving another 4 years in jail.... guess what...he got caught in Atlanta yesterday, and now faces another 20 years on top of the 4 he has left. DOH!

potUS O'Blather really doesn't have a leg to stand on when he claims his mandatory HELL-thScare bill should be considered under the commerce clause of the Constitution. His 'bull' requires every one to have insurance, but doesn't make every individual responsible for paying for his or hers policy.

McClatchy headline/story: "S.C. Rep. Clyburn compares voter ID laws to Jim Crow era * The congressman compared the voter photo ID law that Gov. Nikki Haley signed last month and similar laws in other states with the post-Reconstruction Jim Crow laws that Southern states enacted, imposing poll taxes, literacy tests and other hurdles to prevent blacks from voting." -- What a racist act of fanning the flames of hatred! Any American citizen can get a photo ID for little or no cost, and having one actually protects, insures your vote won't be cast by someone else using your namely falsely. One more step needs to be taken...making it mandatory to show such ID when voting absentee.

potUS O'Blather says Augusta National needs to take in a woman member based on previous IBM heads being offered membership. Does that mean Augusta National has to extend potUS O'Blather a membership because President Eisenhower was a member?

potUS O'Blather must not think much of the US Supreme Court. He's chastised members in a State of the Union speech, and now is trying to impugned the courts Constitutional rights and duties.

I love Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA", BUT apparently a Massachusett's school felt it was better serving to replace God with "We love". Parent objections made the school officials change plans, but not by putting God back into the song, but by not letting the children sing it. Parents should have stood and sang it themselves.
* Follow up: The school superintendent stated it would be fine for the children to sing it the "Greenwood" way, BUT children who objected could sing "we love" when it calls for "God Bless" or mouth it. How courageous.... NOT!

L-E headline/story: "Young Americans less likely to drive * About 69 percent of 17 year olds had a driver’ license in 1983. By 2008, that had dropped to 50 percent * One possible explanation: Virtual contact through the Internet and other electronic means is reducing the need for face-to-face visits among young people, researchers say." -- Did someone actually pay these people to come up with the idea that Facebook is why there are fewer teens driving? More than likely, it's because of the costs associated with teens getting a license. To get one at 16 in GA, the teen must get school permission and take a nearly $500.00 driving class, and that's just the beginning of the costs. Wait until your insurance company recalculates your bill when you buy your child a car or just add your child on as a driver for you and your spouses cars. Then you may have to add in the impact of costs of insurance for divorced marriages. Gas, we haven't even gotten to the cost of a teen driving around at $4.00 a gallon. Some researchers....NOT!

L-E's "Quotable": "If stupidity got us into this mess, then why can't it get us out?" - Will Rogers, American Humorists (1879-1935) -- This must be the mission statement of potUS O'Blather's White House, only he didn't realize Will Rogers' was making a joke out of the situation.

Online headline: "Nancy Pelosi Predicts 6-3 Supreme Court Vote In Favor Of Health Care Law" -- Oh, she couldn't read HELL-thScare before she voted on it, but she can read the US Supreme Court before it votes on it.
---
Where does potUS O'Blather get the idea that the US Supreme Court MUST listen to, even heed his warnings about what the US Supreme Court MUST or MUST NOT decide about laws/executive orders he or Congress make. It is not Judicial Activism for the U S Supreme Court to rule whether a law, any law, complies with the intent of out U S Constitution. THAT'S THEIR ONE JOB!
---
Thomas Sowell's response to potUS O'Blather's demand that the US Supreme Court leave HELL-thSCare alone since it was overwhelmingly passed by Congress (even though they didn't read it first):
"But how unprecedented would it actually be if the Supreme Court declared a law unconstitutional if it was passed by "a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress"? * The Supreme Court has been doing precisely that for 209 years!

The Tuesday primary results show, no demonstrate, that Romney has tweaked his message, adopted his voters concerns, to appeal to more Republicans, and that's what the primaries are for.

HBO is showing "Beavis and Butthead Do America". Oooops, my bad. Thought this was a political documentary starring Geithner and potUS O'Blather.

L-E headline: "Labor rights forum attendees criticize city's use of prisoners" -- If these people are so concerned about prisoners doing labor while incarcerated, why are these people not out on the streets convincing people not to do crime? If there were no criminals, there would be no prisoner labor to do such work, Oh, by the way, the city could save much more than $17,000,000.00 by not having to maintain and operate the prisons. Win-win!

L-E headline/story: "Obama signs insider trading ban for officials * Called the STOCK Act, which stands for Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge" -- Dang! A built in loophole! "Congressional Knowledge" is not only an oxymoron, but assures a jury verdict for 'reasonable doubt' if ay Congressperson ever gets charged.

There's a list of "The 15 Dumbest Superhero Films" out online, but the lister left off the worst one...The potUS O'Blather documentary, "The Road We've Traveled" by the Award Winning Director of "An Inconvenient Truth". Why don't directors learn that even if a movie is good, the sequel will not be,

Online story: "BOSTON -- President Barack Obama's uncle has been granted a hardship driver's license by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles just a week after he lost the right to drive for 45 days in a deal in a drunken driving case. * He's appealing a deportation order." -- Looks like when it comes to potUS O'Bama and his family, we're "a nation of scoffLAWS"

Planned Parenthood wouldn't accept funds from someone who has written about women in an "extremely offensive" way? Planned Parenthood would give any woman in Max's life an abortion, would gladly take tax dollars to fund them, but won't accept Max's donation? PotUS O'Blather did it again. On an international press conference, potUS O'Blather thinks referring to world leaders by their first names creates goodwill, but it just doesn't work that way when you pal around in this hemisphere, but bow down to Mid East kings.

PotUS O'Blather did it again. On an international press conference, potUS O'Blather thinks referring to world leaders by their first names creates goodwill, but it just doesn't work that way when you pal around in this hemisphere, but bow down to Mid East kings.
---
Betcha potUS O'Blather won't campaign on Hope & Change. He will actually hope the voters forget how little change they have left in their pockets.
---
McClatchy headline/story: "A Clinton run in 2016? Bill and Hillary send mixed signals * As eager as Clinton might be for his wife to run again, his immediate political interest is in helping the current president win another four years." -- Yeah.... if XPotUS Clinton and his wife werer interested in re-electing potUS O'Blather, they wouldn't be out explaining the condition it would take for her to run in 2016.

Online story: "MOSCOW — Huge flames danced for hours on the top floors of an under-construction Moscow skyscraper that is to be Europe's tallest, lighting up the night sky Monday. No injuries were reported in the blaze." -- Oooops, my bad. Thought this was an promo for the next Bruce Willis "Die Hard" movie.
---
Online story: "NBC News has launched an internal investigation into a story that ran on the "Today" show about the killing of Florida teenager, Trayvon Martin. * The "Today" version of the call makes it sound as though Zimmerman volunteered the information that Martin was black. In actuality, the 911 officer asked if the "suspicious person" Zimmerman was calling about was "black, white or Hispanic." * The omission of the 911 officer's question in "Today's" story paints a significantly different picture." -- Once again, liberal mainstream media fans the flames of racism and taints the credibility of journalism.

Online headline: "'O.J. Is Innocent And I Can Prove It': In New Book, P.I. William Dear Claims O.J. Simpson's Son Was The Killer" -- When will publishers understand that "if it doesn't fit, don't publish it"?
---
L-E headline: "Officials: 6 dead in Christian school shooting " -- I guess because it was a Christian school the story only rated a page 3 headline. Way to go, L-E....NOT!

Why is the CWW doing a search for a new president when of the finalist named, 1 is already on the job here since 1991 and a GA Tech graduate, 1 has a resume that makes you think of School Superintendent applicants with all the previous short term jobs he's had, including three in Florida, and 1 is a Florida graduate, and who thinks Florida water is good?

Why would anyone want to have a J R Allen exchange named after him? It's like having a Demolition Derby named for you.

If you're getting this a little later than usual, I'm operating on beach time this week.

Online headline: "Clinton doubts that Assad is interested in peace" -- DOH! Why should the next thousand years be any different than the last 1,000 years?

Online headline/story: "Top Obama Donor Accused Of Fraud * The New York donor, Abake Assongba, and her husband contributed more than $50,000 to Obama's re-election effort this year, federal records show. But Assongba is also fending off a civil court case in Florida, where she's accused of thieving more than $650,000 to help build a multimillion-dollar home in the state * Obama is the only presidential contender this year who released his list of "bundlers," the financiers who raise campaign money by soliciting high-dollar contributions from friends and associates. But that disclosure has not come without snags; his campaign returned $200,000 last month to Carlos and Alberto Cardona, the brothers of a Mexican fugitive wanted on federal drug charges." -- You can almost understand why the Cardona brothers would have liked to have influence on potUS O'Blather, but why would a West African purportedly running a charitable organization distributing school supplies and food in Africa be raising that kind of money for potUS O'Blather and other DIM&DUMBERats? You really have to wonder.
---
PotUS O'Blather now says it's time for is to pull together rather trying to do things by out selves. Good advice just a little late . He should have thought about that 3 years ago.

I am Kayla Castro. I want justice!

Standing water will always be a mosquito breeding ground. Speaking of that, what will the Whitewater group do about the newly created 'pools' of standing water created by the dam breaching? There are newly created pockets of water which use to have the Chattahoochee flowing through them that now are stagnant.

Thought it was interesting that it rained on the "Hood March" Saturday AM, but the sun shine brightly for the Easter Egg hunt on post.

Online story: "Keith Olbermann has been fired by Current TV, the network announced Friday. He will be replaced by former New York governor and CNN host Eliot Spitzer. * The channel released a statement signed by Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, the founders of the network, on Friday. The statement made plain that Current's relationship with Olbermann had devolved to an unsustainable point: * To the Viewers of Current:
We created Current to give voice to those Americans who refuse to rely on corporate-controlled media and are seeking an authentic progressive outlet. We are more committed to those goals today than ever before. Current was also founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it." --Liberals just kill me...."loyalty TO our viewers"? Like all political DIM&DUMBERats, 'loyalty' is holding a finger into the air to see which way the wind is blowing versus making your opinion consistent that viewers/voters willingly give you their loyalty.

Online headline: "Obama Urges Congress To Pass 'Buffett Rule' Tax" -- And Warren Buffet will urge his army of CPAs and brokers to simply reduce his taxable income.

Today I am making a change. Have you seen the latest Gillette ads boasting about using it's blades for 5 weeks. Today I'm changing my Schick Hydro blade after 3 months! Have been using them for about 18 months, and using them 30 days was my usual pattern, bu ob January 1st, I decided to see how long I could use one comfortably, so I have been using it since. Today I am changing, not because the shave isn't still good, but because I wanted to share this with you. BTW, I do not own any Schick stock.

L-E headline: "Over 200 hooded marchers rally in downtown Columbus for justice for Trayvon Martin" -- Yesterday's 'march' wasn't about justice. It was anger, hatred and racist. It was about 'black & white', though like our president, George Zimmerman is half white, but yesterday's protesters, who consider potUS O'Blather black, consider George Zimmerman 'white' versus Latino. Hatred is not about justice; hatred is as hatred does. It's all about attitude. If Zimmerman's story is factual, and you still are angry, then it's not about facts or justice. If Zimmerman's story is proven false, then Zimmerman should be prosecuted. Period!

Gas is close to $4.00 a gallon for regular. I'm pretty sure it will already be that for anyone buying gas in Florida this week. I remember, in 1973, pulling out of a gas station in Panama City because it's pumps were all $1.019, and I was not going to pay a dollar or more for gas. Drove all the way back into Dothan on fumes to get gas for under $1.00. I also remember, during 'gas wars', filling my gas tank for less that $2.00. I also remember cartons of cigarettes being less than $2.00. At what cigarettes cost now, I'd never would have smoked at all. March 23rd of this year commemorated my 23rd year of quitting smoking cigarettes.

So Georgia, and I'm sure our Council and MCSD Board, want to collect sales taxes on internet sales that currently do not collect such taxes. Before hiring legal staffs to go after them, why not make lawyers collect/pay sales taxes on the 'time' they sell to clients? Just because lawyers can write them out of such laws doesn't mean they should be exempt from collecting/paying them.

It's sorta suspect that the three Mega Millions lottery winners live in Maryland, Illinois, and Kansas, Well, not so much Kansas, but potUS O'Blather is from Illinois, and VPoTUS Biden is from Maryland. Conspiracy?

Chris Johnson's column is actually humerous and worth reading (and acknowledging) today. If he wrote like this all the time, I'd probably have read his stuff in the past.
