There appears to be a lot of false expectations among kayakers. The increase in rapids is solely due to the fact that about 1/3 of the dam has been breached so all the water is channeled into the breach opening making the rapids 3 times more aggressive than they will be once all the dam has been breached. When it's completed, the kayakers now fawning will be kayakers with yawning.
