Rahm Emanuel says Trump cannot dictate values to Chicago. Wait a minute, since when is protecting illegal alien criminals a value to support? Besides, based on the drop in illegal aliens crossing our border into America, I imagine a lot of Chicago's illegal alien population would voluntarily leave if they knew Chicago police were going to follow federal laws.

---
Online headline: "Chicago sues Trump administration over sanctuary city plan" -- You know, Trump should counter by funding  a class-action suit by the citizens of South Chicago to specifically sue Mayor Emanuel for inadequate police protection on the streets.

---
I have a correction to make on something I wrote yesterday... the MCSD  paid $1,100.00 for the CPD report on the school bus accident in which the driver died, and a number of kids were injured.. not for the Montravious Thomas debacle.. conversation became ambiguous, and I mixed the facts.. Of course, the same principle applies.. why is one locally funded arm of government charging the other locally funded arm of government for public information?

---
Mainscream media ... I'm not sure whether it's outright stupidity or just intentional, but mainscream media doesn't understand Trump on his "wall" claim.. Mexico WILL pay for it, whether the US pays for the initial construction... or not..Mexico will pay for the "wall" because all the deportees, and the all the criminals that want to get into America will become the wards of Mexico and drain Mexican government  resources rather than American.

---
From the "Speaking of walls" department _Online headline/story: "Democratic senator on reelection: 'I don't give a s--t *  Over the weekend Democratic Senator Joe Manchin used some blunt words over the weekend to address critics who want him to fully commit to Democratic policy points. * The West Virginia lawmaker told the Charleston Gazette-Mail on Sunday, "I just don't give a s--t." * "Don't care if I get elected, don't care if I get defeated, how about that," Manchin said. "If they think because I'm up for election, that I can be wrangled into voting for s--t that I don't like and can't explain, they're all crazy." -- Hmmm.. what I think we have is that Senator Manchin read the HANDWRITING on "the Wall" after seeing the WV Governor swutch to the Republican Party at the huge rally President Trump held in WV...

---
From the "can you believe this" department - Online story: "A Florida veteran became ensnared after receiving a letter asking him to remove an American flag wrap from his mailbox. * John Ackert is a retired U.S. Navy commander. He said he received the notice from the Southwood Residential Community Association in Tallahassee late last month asking him to remove the wrapping of Old Glory. * "As the holiday season has come to a close, please remove the American flag mailbox wrap. Decorations may be displayed 30 days prior to the associated holiday and must be taken down within 15 days after the holiday," the letter from the local homeowners association read," -- Good grief.. only in Liberal Land can American patriotism be considered "a holiday season"!  Let's rally behind our flag!

---
From the "iz that so, Senator?" department -- Online story: "Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal tweeted this out Monday, "Mr. President: Your bullying hasn't worked before and it won't work now. No one is above the law." -- Hmmm.. could fooled me.. now, Senator.. step up to the plate and lead the Democratic Party in prosecuting, Loretta Lynch, Hellary, and Debbie Washerwoman Schultz to begin with..

---
From the "Speaking of feeling he's above the law" department - Online story: " Years ago, (Senator) Blumenthal did misrepresent his military service, repeatedly conflating his time in the Marine Reserves in Washington, D.C., with those who served overseas in Vietnam. * In reality, the senator obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970, according to The New York Times’ 2010 expose that found Blumenthal had sometimes falsely claimed to have served in Vietnam; when he eventually enlisted in 1970, Blumenthal got a spot in the Marine Reserves, engaging in Washington drills and local projects like campground repairs. * He later apologized for misrepresenting his service, saying he regretted saying he’d served "in" Vietnam instead of "during" Vietnam." -- You know, Senator Blumenthal was serving in the Senate when the "Stolen Valor Act" passed in 2103.. there's really only one apology that's fitting.. resignation...

---
Online headline: "ARKANSAS MAN ARRESTED, ACCUSED OF HAVING SEX WITH FAMILY'S PET DONKEY" -- Hmmm.. guess since Trump's program to purge voter lists of dead and moved voters, the Democrats are desperate to add more future voters..

---
Online story: "Loretta Lynch used the alias “Elizabeth Carlisle” for official emails as attorney general, including those related to her infamous tarmac meeting last summer with former President Clinton. * Top federal officials using email aliases is not illegal or new, considering others in the former Obama administration also used them, arguing security concerns and spam to their official email addresses swamping their in-boxes. * Internet sleuths say Elizabeth Carlisle is the birth name of Lynch’s maternal grandmother.  * Eric Holder, Lynch’s predecessor, used “Lew Alcindor,” the former name of retired NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. * However, critics of the practice argue that such aliases can result in some requested emails to and from officials going undetected." --  You know.. using a pseudo name for personal versus official capacity e-mails while being a top government official is OK with me, as long as they are kept and available for scrutiny in certain situations, but otherwise, they are subterfuge in nature..and should be explored fully... especially the Pric Holder one's using the name of "Lew Alcindor".. in reality Holder has excoriated Kareem Abdul Jabbar's Muslim identity..

---
From the "there is a solution for politicians feeling they are above the law: department - Online story: "SAN FRANCISCO –  These days, the price of a San Francisco home can easily top a million dollars. But one savvy investor has bought up a whole street in the city's most exclusive neighborhood for a mere $90,000. *  Lined with towering palm trees and multimillion dollar mansions, the street has been home, over the years, to famous residents including Sen. Dianne Feinstein and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi. *  Thanks to a city auction stemming from an unpaid tax bill, Bay Area real estate investor Michael Cheng, and his wife Tina Lam, bought the street and now own the sidewalks, the street itself and other areas of "common ground" in the private development that, the San Francisco Chronicle reported, has been managed by the homeowners association since at least 1905. * It turns out the homeowners association for Presidio Terrace failed to pay a $14-a-year property tax, something that owners of all 181 private streets in San Francisco must do" -- Good grief.. who better than Feinstein and Pelosi should know that ignorance of the law is never an excuse.. or that not knowing/reading  what's in a law can ruin you...

---
Think about this..is there anything more shallow than a Democrat talking about bipartisan solutions when none will vote for anything Trump proposes?

---
Lying LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I wish Georgia had United States senators with backbone like Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, and yes, John McCain. Real leaders who won’t just rubber stamp agendas for party instead of country." -- Good grief.. this psychological liar would never vote for any of the three if they ran in Georgia with a "R" d]beside their names.

---
Uber_LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The Commerce Department issued report Friday demonstrates Obama’s eight years in office produced a steady growth of jobs." -- You know.. there were basically three categories of jobs that grew in Obama's 8 years.. OObamaCRAP explainers, food stamp issuers, and staff attendants for his wife.

---
L-E story: " The city of Phenix City created a special entertainment district Aug. 1 where people may openly drink alcoholic beverages within the district area, as long as they are purchased from approved vendors. * People can buy drinks from those vendors and then leave — perhaps to stroll along the Phenix City Riverwalk after a show at the amphitheater — without worrying about breaking open container laws" -- Two things will come out of this.. more drunks walking on the Phenix City Riverwalk, and more litter being thrown into the Chattahoochee.

---
L-E headline: "Report: Columbus apartment rents among cheapest in the U.S." -- Hmmm.. as any Falcon or Braves fan will lament, "Wait till next year!"

---
One of the things I've noticed is that apartment complexes are pretty much valued at what they were assessed last year, and most were assessed last year at what they were years ago.. seems like if Mayor Tom-LYING-son was complaining about FMV's not being up-to-dater on homes. she shoulda been looking at apartment complexes first.

---

Curiosity question: "Anyone got figures on how much the Columbus Ice Rink charges per hour/day/season for commercial ventures.. we know the AquaCenter doesn't charge enough for users to offset the costs.

Monday, August 7, 2017

From the "mainscream media's wishful thinking" department - Online story: "The new White House chief of staff, retired General John Kelly, is reportedly trying to reign in at least some of President Trump's tweeting." -- Good grief.. doing so would be like the Yankee's batting coach of Aaron Judge taking the bat out of Judge's hands and replacing it with a ping pong paddle... because other teams' pitchers thought it was unfair for Judge to use a bat.

---
Why is mainscream media trying so.. no, trying TOO hard to get "Colon KaeperPRICK " signed to a new team? I'm beginning to wonder if mainscream media icon headquarter buildings still fly the American flag.

---
I heard Saturday that the CPD charged the MCSD $1,100.00 for a copy of the police investigative files concerning Montravious Thomas. You know the MCSD should already know all the "best information" about what happened.

You know.. why should one arm of the taxpayer funded local government be paying the other arm local government anything for something that already belongs to the taxpayers?

---
Unless it's a college football or baseball game that I follow certain teams' games, I really no longer tune in to ESPN, but here's another confirmation of my decision...Online headline: "ESPN HOST Calls Cops “Slave Patrol” and Rips NFL for Not Signing QB Colin Kaepernick" -- Even in the calmest.. most erudite of times, crap rhetoric like this is not going the unite people in anything... well, maybe united them in disgust for the speaker of such.

---
From the "guess we'll find out sometime today" department - Online story: "Mayor Emanuel says he’s going to sue the Trump Justice Dept on Monday, over its new Sanctuary City rules. * New rules just out, prevent Sanctuary Cities like Chicago to get certain law enforcement grants. The mayor says Chicago will file suit to kill the rules and get the millions in question." -- Sancuary City of not, Chicago has already shown it does use the federal funds wisely or efficiently, and that alone justifies withholding future fed funds on the basis of pour more good money down the drain.

http://www.wlsam.com/2017/08/04/emanuel-to-sue-feds-over-new-sanctuary-city-rules/

L-E story: "Lajay D. Jenkins, 35, faces one count each of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects, having a cracked windshield, fleeing and eluding police, obstruction of a police officer, having no state license, and two counts each of stop sign violation, hit-and-run and one count of failing to maintain his lane. He was taken into custody at 6:06 p.m. after a short foot chase and held in the Muscogee County Jail on bonds totaling almost $8,000 for a 2 p.m. Thursday hearing in Recorder’s Court." -- "possession pf drug related products/possession of marijuana with intent to distribute"?  "held in the Muscogee County Jail on bonds totaling almost $8,000 for a 2 p.m. Thursday hearing in Recorder’s Court"? Excuse me.. but why is ANY bail involving any kind of violence set BEFORE an already SCHEDULED Recorder's Court hearing?

---
L-E commentary  headline: "Bipartisan messages clear; does the president hear?" -- Good grief.. if there IS bipartisan agreement in Washington, you can bet it has nothing that will benefit America or it's citizens.. The only thing Republican and Democrat politicians agree on is that they both want to keep themselves above the laws they write for everyone else.. their healthcare packages, Hellary's  "bubble" of protection from prosecution.. oh, and the Senate not willing to convict Bill Clinton are great examples messages of what is bi-partisan "clarity" is in Washington.

---
L-E guest commentary headline: "Affirmative action back in spotlight * BY MARY SANCHEZ * Kansas City Star" -- Hmmm.. is there anybody with a clear conscience who can say that he/she doesn't equate the term "Affirmative Action" with it's only true definition... "Racial or Gender Prejudice"?

---
A lot of local chatter on a Columbus FaceBook page has been about what's charity..It's not really charity to pass on a few bucks per a request just to see a smile or to get by a place/person then think nothing else about it.. That's a hand out...not a hand up. It's the hand up that is charitable. A oft used adage is the one about giving a person a fish or teaching a person to fish.. Just shining a brief light on someone merely puts them back into the darkness when you move on. Now to light a path that leads to the end of the darkness is what real charity is about.

---
Online story: "Google executives over the weekend rushed to denounce an engineer's memo that ascribed gender inequality in the technology industry to biological differences, a view that sparked outrage at the internet giant and inflamed tensions over sexual harassment and discrimination in Silicon Valley." -- Hmmm.. so the great bastion of diversity flares up in outrage when one of it's diverse employees makes a diverse personal comment.. Sound more like Google is not the open environment it proclaims itself to be.

---
Online story: "(College Park), Maryland is considering a plan that would give undocumented immigrants the right to vote, making their city the largest in the Old Line State to do so. * The city, which is home of the University of Maryland’s main campus and nearly 30,000 residents, is weighing approval of the new measure to let noncitizens cast ballots for mayor and City Council, The Baltimore Sun reported Sunday." -- Good grief.. I can see the first two new laws the college kids will vote in.. Toga Party Tuesday for Election Dates, and Long Weekends Off for the Police Department on home football game weeks.

---
Online story: "An image of a monster crocodile caught by Outback Wrangler Matt Wright has gone viral, with some animal lovers criticizing the use of duct tape to bind the animal’s snout shut." -- Hmmm.. the next time Matt Wright catches a 20' croc, I think he should call one of these "animal activists" and appoint him/her as "official croc snout holder".

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The NRA has won. Any Tom, Dick or Harry with evil intent can obtain a gun, including 18-year-olds who cannot legally buy or drink alcohol until they are 21." -- Hey Dumbo (and I'm not talking about the Flying Elephant),  While it is legal for an 18-year old to possess a handgun in GA, it is illegal under federal law for anyone under 21 to BUY a handgun

---
Stupor-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "It’s a sad day when Boy Scouts of America has to issue an apology because of a speech given by Trump. It’ss even sadder that there are Americans who still support this man. Pitiful." -- Typical lib.. one BSA weenie makes a "liberally correct" comment, while 40,000 politically aware young men cheer for our president is sad only in that the "weenie" is still employed by the BSA!

L-E guest Commentary headline/content: "Call Maduro what he is – a dictator * BY ANDRES OPPENHEIMER * Miami Herald (like the L-E, a McClatchy unit, too) *  In light of the tragic events in Venezuela, it’s time for us in the media to start calling things by their name, and refer to Venezuelan ruler Nicolas Maduro as what he is – a dictator. * Most media organizations still refer to Maduro as “Venezuelan President,” “Venezuelan leader” or “Venezuela’s head of state.” That’s OK for a first reference, but it puts Maduro at the same level as Germany’s Angela Merkel, or – even if you consider him a disastrous president, as I do – Donald Trump. * Now, Maduro has gone all the way to try to impose a Cuba-style dictatorship in Venezuela: He convened a sham July 30 election for a constituent assembly that plans to re-write the constitution and close down the National Assembly. * The vote was a farce: As in Cuba, you could only vote for government supporters. All 5,500 candidates were members of Maduro’s socialist party. There were no credible international observers, and reporters were forced to remain 550 yards – away from the polls." -- Hmm.. and if Hellary had won, Oppenheimer would be embracing Maduro as would Hellary, and Maduro would be praised as having Obama skills. Oh, and does not Oppenheimer remember when Hellary's campaign forces actually "lassoed" mainscream media into a group so they would be forced back from Hellary during her campaign.. maybe not 550 yards, but distance is not the only factor in keeping the media under one's control.

Oh, NO! There was a fire at Ed's Bar B Que and Country Cooking in Phenix City on Sunday!  Where will we eat this week?

Saturday, August 5, 2017

From the "Gomer Pyle ...NOT" department -  AOL headline: "Rep. Maxine Waters calls Trump ‘the most deplorable person’" -- No "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise" here.. Of course, she feels, you and I are "deplorable" as well.. in fact, if you don't live in her gated, mansion-filled neighborhood, she feels you are "deplorable", shoot, she feels everyone who actually lives  in the District she represents is "deplorable", and if you're white, you're deplorable even if you're a Democrat. Why is anything she says "newsworthy"?

---
From the cover of "Newsweek" tabloid: ""Donald Trump is bored and tired," the sub line reads. "Imagine how bad he'd feel if he did any work." -- You know, from Newsweek's perspective, the staff is unaccustomed at understanding what work is.. but then all most of the staff has been shown of what work is happens to be Obama and a significantly failed magazine. Follow the URL "link" to a recap of the current insignificance of Newsweek...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newsweek

---
Online headline: "Jeff Sessions gets slammed over Justice Department plan to cramp down on leaks" -- Well, I guess so..mainscream media is so use to "not working" anyway, and now Sessions is about to cut off its source of "fake news" altogether..

---
Looks like the Democrats are gearing up for 2018/2020 by opening up training schools for candidates.. guess Trump "schooled" all the old candidates about winning  being hard work and a lot of listening to actual taxpayers. The trouble with the Democrat plan is that they are use to social promotions/graduations in school.

---
Last year was a record for shooting deaths in a year since Rahm Emanuel became mayor of Chicago..it was a huge 33% increase over the previous worse year (2012) Rahm has been in office .. you'd think that was a blip, but, alas, 2017 is running ahead of 2016. Wonder when mainscream media is going to start blaming Trump?

---
From the ""you can't make this up unless you're a liberal journalist" department -- Online "headLIE": "Brothers with clean records deported after one tells ICE he got into college " -- Now, as Paul Harvey would say, "the rest of the story": "The Washington Post notes that though neither had a criminal record, the two had been in the country illegally for some time. * They were reportedly caught entering the U.S. on fake passports in 2009, and in 2012 were ordered to leave. Both were subsequently given a 1-year protection from deportation but attempts to have that allowance extended were not successful." -- "clean records"? Using fake passports to get into America is not "clean", and getting to stay via a pass from Obama in defiance of federal laws (hey, didn't Obama's Aunt Zeituni get one of those before she died in  2014.. she was on government dole and in subsidized housing.. hey, isn't that how the Obama's lived in Washington, too?)

---
From the "the worm has/is turning" department - Online story: "According to the Wall Street Journal, former "Sex and the City" star Cynthia Nixon may take on New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary in 2018." -- It had to happen.. Democrat elitist have told alternative lifestylers that Democrats are the answer to their issues so stay dependent, and now the alternative lifestylers are "mutinying" to take over the "ship".

---
From the "mainscream media just got blasted by the Clinton's "confidant" department - Online headline/story: "Clinton confidant Blumenthal lashes out at Grassley over hearing comments * Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, had mentioned Blumenthal during a Russia-related hearing last Wednesday. Suggesting a double standard was at play, he questioned why President Trump's associates were taking heat for foreign ties but Blumenthal did not register as a foreign agent while working as an “off-the-books” intelligence resource for then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. * “There can be no ‘news’ without facts,” Blumenthal wrote. “Whatever you may have read could only have been baseless smears.” -- Ooops! You know, liberals really "cry foul" when the rules they hold others up to are applied to themselves.

---
From the "life's confusing enough but more so when "the signs" are given new meaning" department - "Online headline: "Planned Parenthood: Teach your preschoolers 'their genitals don’t determine their gender'
-- Next we'll hear from the ASPCA that just because your puppy has external genitals doesn't make it a male.

You know.. why is it that the most distraught spokespersons from  Planned Parenthood have parents that practiced what the distraught spokespersons preach?

---
Columbus has recently had a story about two teens involved in the shooting death of another, yet the "defense" is that in it was an accident, and the charges are "involuntary manslaughter" -- While it is under investigation, and the two are out on bail, one thing that really stands out is why the two ran from the scene rather than wait for the proper authorities... it was "an accident"... wasn't it?

---
You know..mainscream media is trying to put Arizona's lower poll numbers on Trump but with OObamaCRAP imploding in Arizona and with McCain cuddling up to Schumer, it's McCain who has awakened the voter wrath.

---
From the "what time is it really for" department - Online story:  "MACON, Ga. -- Reverend Al Sharpton spoke at the National Action Network Middle Georgia Conference in Macon on Thursday evening. * He said he is concerned about White House leadership and people's rights. * "It's time for us to put the heat back on those in government for the people to benefit rather than the richer getting richer and we run around attacking each other," Sharpton told the crowd." --Hmmm What it's really time for is Al Sharlatan to pay his back taxes and serve his time under "Big House" arrest.

---
From the "can't you already see where this is headed" department - Another online story from Macon, GA: "MACON, Ga. -- School officials are recommending parents talk to their kids about playground safety before sending them on to school. * Dr. Rogelio Delacruz with the Pediatric Emergency Center at Navicent Health said playground safety is important. The emergency center sees kids get hurt on playgrounds all the time. * “Most of the injuries we see are fractures, children come here because they break their forearm, because they fall and land on their head and they sustain a concussion,” said Delacruz" -- Without a doubt, school children of every generation have learned life lesson's on school playgrounds,, and most of those are broken bones or bruises.. it's part of their education that they are not invulnerable to pain, and that prepares them for Real Life 101.. Of course.. liberals are already working on eliminating playground equipment.. and children "playing" at schools.. snowflakes might get hurt...

---
Online story: "The timing is right for bringing back a proposal to build a multi-modal passenger terminal (MMPT) in metro Atlanta, the chairman of the Georgia Senate's Transportation Committee said Thursday.
* "We're in great financial position. We've got a lot of growth coming," Sen. Brandon Beach, R-Alpharetta, told reporters following a meeting of his committee to talk about a project that has been on the back burner for years. "If we have the political will and the political courage, we can work with our partners and come up with a plan that works for everybody." -- "Republican"?  I don't think so.. some RINO running around trying to spend more money because it's "there". A Republican would be saying, "Let's find away to get this surplus back in the hands of the taxpayers so continued growth will soar!

---
Hank Johnson, D-GA 4, .. is trying to tip over another island.. Ole Hank has introduced the “Southeast Crescent Regional Commission Reauthorization Act of 2017.” * Working with the states and localities, the Commission can assist in leveraging public, private and philanthropic resources to improve the overall economy and infrastructure of the region to encourage private investment and promote growth in distressed areas. The bill would also provide job skills training and entrepreneurial development, ensuring that the jobs of the future can be filled by skilled workers * The Southeast Crescent Regional Commission encompasses most of the counties of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
* Congressman Johnson said the bill could open up the door to a historic opportunity to help create good jobs and develop a disadvantaged region with targeted investments. * The bill would also reauthorize economic and infrastructure development programs in the Northern Border Regional Commission and the Southwest Border Regional Commission. * The appointment of a federal co-chair by the president is still needed to launch the start-up phase." -- Good grief.. Johnson claims he is the originator of this program... a program that will never get off the ground because Trump is not going to appoint a "federal chair" that will take any advice from Johnson.. I do believe... and this is hard for me to say, but I think GA and District 4 were better represented by Cynthia McKinney..

---
L-E headline/story: "CIVIL LAWSUIT * Jury awards millions in 2014 fatal shooting * A 2014 Columbus homicide in which the defendant was acquitted on a self-defense claim has led to a $4.5 million civil verdict against the property owner." -- deaths are emotional, but how can a real estate company prevent people from abusing the rules and regulations of the complex when the lessee  brings in his own armed "bouncers" and invites/allows guests in who are carrying guns? Especially one in which the defendant was acquitted of a crime!

---
L-E commentary headline: "Today, Trump would get only 99 Electoral votes * BY JOHN A. TURES *
LaGrange College (John A. Tures is associate professor of political science at LaGrange College; jtures@lagrange.edu . Twitter: @JohnTures2.) --  The L-E should run this column again on November 4, 2020... along with it's announcement that no more of associate professor Tures' opinions will see print.

---
From the L-E "quote" feature: "Margaret Fuller - '' NATURE PROVIDES EXCEPTIONS TO EVERY RULE. - Margaret Fuller, American critic (1810-1850" -- Hmmm... every rule except this one.. there are no absolutes in the world.. well except "Absolute Zero"..

---
L-E headline: "Man shot in head in Columbus" -- wow.. even another "involuntary attempted manslaughter".. Chicago has nothing on Columbus!

---

L-E headline/story: "Man denies flashing women downtown * “He said he placed his hand down his pants and placed two fingers out the opening as a way to pick up women,” Scruggs told the court." --  Hmmm.. besides the fact that no woman would find a 2-finger appendage worthy of a second thought, why hasn't the (_*_) also been charged with "driving while distracted"  for not having both hands on the wheel?

Friday, August 4, 2017

From the "ambiguity is the mainscream media's favorite slur" department -  Online story: "Some Canadians have been speaking out against first lady Melania Trump's scheduled attendance of the Invictus Games in Toronto next month." -- "some Canadians"? Liberals love to use "some" because all it indicates to a rational mind is more than a couple, but could infer millions to those who have no other real facts/figures to present to support their opinion.

---
How about that.. While he was a Republican registered voter prior to running as a Democrat in 2015, the governor of West Virginia is now a Republican again..Governor Jim Justice announced yesterday that the WV Democrats "had left him", so he is joining the Republicans.. Let's seem that makes the current number of Republican governors 34 now.

---
The Obama's are returning to Martha's Vinyard this weekend for more vacation time.. poor Barry.. this trip he'll actually have to ride on the same plane as Michelle.. or do I have it backwards?

---
Online headline: "With Harvard's incoming class, minorities will be the majority this fall" -- Good grief.. guess this is the Ivy League liberals way of dispersing their "white privilege" life by becoming the minority...

---
Online headline/story: "Suspects sought after shooting in San Francisco's Dolores Park * At least one gunman opened fire in the park, which was full of families and tourists around 3:05 p.m., police said. Several suspects, wearing bandannas, were seen fleeing the area" -- Hmmm.. don't worry liberals.. San Francisco is a Sanctuary City, so if you weren't one of the victims yesterday, you'll get your chance in a few days after they are caught and released.

---
Online headline/story: "Toyota, Mazda set to announce $1.6 billion US plant * The $1.6 billion plant, to be built in an unspecified U.S. location and open in 2021, will be able to produce 300,000 vehicles a year and employ 4,000 people, Reuters reported." -- Pure Trump! And these aren't minimum wage seasonal jobs either, like the Democrats get excited about reporting when they are in the majority.

---
Online headline: "A marijuana company has bought a California ghost town to turn it into a pot-tourism destination" -- Hmmm.. can we speed up the petition process to get "CalExit" on the ballot... in the OTHER 49 states? Let's had that all the highways into California be given "one-way West" designations.

---
From the " 'info update' and 'I kid you not' " department - Yesterday, I mentioned it looked like some MCSD buses were on a used car lot on Veterans.. as it turns out  they were on a lot next to a car lot for repairs/service of their Air Conditioning systems. Now for the "I kid you not"  element.. the buses are being serviced by former, and probably future MCSB District 2 also-ran Bart Steed... guess the MCSD wants to keep any opponent of John Thomas close to it's vest for the 2018 election.

---
Online Atlanta J/C  "headLIE": "Georgia cancels registration of more than 591,500 voters" -- Hmm.. as Paul Harvey would say, "here's the rest of the story"..." Each of the 591,548 voters affected by the move had already been on the state’s “inactive” registration list. That means they had not voted, updated their voter registration information, filed a change of name or address, signed a petition or responded to attempts to confirm their last known address for at least the past three years. * None of the voters had had any contact with local election officials or the state since at least Sept. 16, 2014, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office. * The date coincides with the early-voting period leading up to the midterm Nov. 4, 2014, general election. State and federal law requires that Georgia give voters at least two federal general election cycles before it can take action to remove voters from the rolls, as it did starting overnight Friday. * “Voter list maintenance is both a statutory obligation and critical safeguard for the integrity of the ballot box,” said Candice Broce, a spokeswoman for the Secretary of State’s Office. “By regularly updating our rolls, we prevent fraud and ensure that all votes are cast by eligible Georgia voters.” -- Oh, and let's not forget how much the taxpayers will save on postage alone at sending out continuous inquiries to dead people and addresses..

---
From the "stop the leaks" department - After firing McMasters for continuing Susan Rice's access to classified files, Trump's next Executive Order should be to fire anybody left over from the Obama administration..period.

---
Think about it..when he was president, Bill Clinton gave China classified instructions on how to build ICBMs, and now their NOKO buddy Kim Jong Oooops has such info, , and as Secretary of State, Hellary gave Russia about 20% of our uranium supply.. and the Clintons are still trying to run the Democratic Party. I've had enough Democrat socialistic conspiracy...

---
You know..just thinking about putting together 5000+ backpacks with school supplies gets the figures swirling...while no specific dollar figure was mentioned (at least to my knowledge), I'm going to guess that it was at least $40.00 dollars a package to be a meaningful project. That adds up to $200,000.00..Next year, how about just raising the $200,000.00 and distribute it to the schools' tteachers to help buy supplies for their classes..that way, all the supplies will make it to the schools.

From the "I'm not sure the info is correct, but it sounded feasible" department -- One FaceBook criticizer of an item I published made mention that the bookbags/school supplies were distributed  to the children who's parents/guardians took them to the distribution point. You know, if that's true, then why can't said parents/guardians take their children to school as well. On the other hand, children with obvious transportation issues didn't receive said bookbags/supplies.. doesn't this sorta diminish the effort to get supplies into the most needy students?

What's with the sudden reemergence of "Doan's" pills for back aches? Can we expect to see "Carter"s Little Pills" (f.k.a Carter's Little Liver Pills).

Online headline/story: "National PTA sends stern warning to Georgia unit * In a letter sent Thursday, National PTA President James L. Accomando wrote, “The National PTA Board of Directors is closely watching Georgia PTA’s actions and the harm being done to the PTA brand … The National PTA Board of Directors cannot allow the brand to be further tarnished and will take appropriate action.” * The national office has had to rethink that posture as more complaints poured in from across Georgia and local PTAs threatened to become unaffiliated PTOs, Parent Teacher Organizations." -- You know, the National PTA really has only 1 interest.. the percentage of fees each member of local PTA groups pays that gets sent to "National". Parents..teachers.... take back control of your schools!

From the "where do we begin at parsing the court/jail systems failure" department - L-E story: "A Columbus driver was charged with murder after allegedly fleeing the scene of a five-vehicle wreck on Veterans Parkway that left a 43-year-old woman dead, authorities said." If you look at how a story in yesterday's L-E reported that a man who aimed a loaded gun at another and purposely pulled the trigger was being charged with "involuntary manslaughter", you have to scratch your head at this scenario.. But let's look at the past of this guy.. in early 2007, he was convicted of a misdemeanor simple battery and ordered to sevre 20 days.. later in 2007, he stole a vehicle and was sentenced to 6 years but only 90 days to serve.. In the Spring of 2008,  he pleaded guilty of a "B&E" and sentenced to 10 years and only 4 to serve, but.. BUT less than 18 months later in the Fall of 2009 he was back on the streets and caught stealing ANOTHER vehicle and while he pleaded guilty, but there doesn't seem to be a record of any sentencing.. Fast forward to 2013, he was "accused" of theft by receiving another stolen car but that was dropped for a guilty plea for misdemeanor possession of marijuana,,(no sentencing info provided). Less than a year later in the Summer of 2014, he's "accused" of possessing cocaine, and possessing marijuana with intent to distribute (drug dealing), and possession of a .38 caliber pistol by a previously convicted felon.. and was eventually sentenced in May of 2015 to 8 years in prison but only 2 to serve on the drug  charges and probation on the gun charges.  You know.. if he had served the entire well-deserved 10 years he was sentenced to in 2008. yesterday's event would not have happened,, neither would the crimes in 2009, 2013, 2014 and 2015, and a woman from Lagrange would be waking up this morning in her home. Liberalism is killing our system of justice..

From the "we gotta manipulate the figures to prove what we say is important is the most important issue" department - AOL "headLIE"/rest of the story: "Poll: Climate change and the Islamic State essentially tied as the world's top greatest threats"..... "According to a new poll from the Pew Research Center, climate change and the Islamic State are essentially tied when it comes to what people around the world see as the greatest security threat. * People in 13 countries ranked climate change at number 1, while 17 countries put ISIS at the top of the list. * However, the United States ranked climate change 3rd with cyber warfare as the number 2 threat. * Fifty-six percent of Americans said that global warming as the greatest threat, while 71 percent said cyber warfare * Overwhelmingly tho (sic), Americans said the greatest threat is the Islamic State at 74 percent." -- Once again.. mainscream media tries to make Climate Change look like the world agrees with it... When 30 counties are polled, and 17 vs 13 (57% to 43%) believe one thing, that's called a "landslide victory".. especially when mainscream media is doing the polling..It must be particularly  disheartening to US mainscream media that "Climate Change" didn't make the Top 2 concerns.

Online headline: "'The Middle' to end with season 9 on ABC" -- I'm going to lose sleep over this.... NOT.. Yo know, when a show's premise cannot appeal to me once in 9 years so I want to watch even one episode, it makes me think a show's advertising base has no connection to what I consider what's important.. what's worth my time to watch.

---
Online headline: "Ford is falling after a lackluster sales report" -- I can tell you one thing that has hurt Ford, and that's the return of the Lincoln (almost) Continental... When I saw the news of it's return in 2015 as a full sized sedan with the "suicide doors" of the 60's, I knew this would be the car I was going to wait for to replace my huge SUV.. but when Ford finally put it out on the sales floor, it had shortened the wheelbase, and dropped the "suicide doors".. it was ordinary instead of extraordinary... it was a "No Sale".

Online "headLIE": "Chains like Chili's and Buffalo Wild Wings are failing because customers are changing their attitude toward healthy eating" -- Good grief.. Chili's and Buffalo Wild Wings customers are not going to become organic food fans.. Like all restaurant failures, it's either because of "location", menu changes in offerings or value, or just bad management...

From the "Rachel Dolezal School of Color Blindness" - Online headline/story: "MINNESOTA * Black Lives Matter Minneapolis apologizes about photo of 'lynched' man" *  Black Lives Matter Minneapolis apologized on Tuesday after it sparked rumors by sharing horrific photos that suggested a black man had been lynched -- even when police clarified the picture was of a white man who had hanged himself in a city park. * "As more information came out and Mr. Bringle's family came forward, it became clear that this was an unfortunate incident caused by mental illness," the group said. * A passerby found the body just before 6 a.m. Tuesday and posted three photos of the scene on Facebook, suggesting that the man was a victim of a hate crime. " -- Once again, liberals do not care about facts when they try to exploit their own victimization..

---
From the "you can sell them your soul, but they won't buy into your "vote for me" plea" department - Online headline: "John McCain is now more popular with Democrats than Republicans after his vote to kill the GOP health care bill" -- Yeah.. bask in McCain... but you and your RINO buddies better remember 2008.. Dems are not going to vote for you...

Online headline/story: "Report: Al Gore's Home Uses 21x More Energy Than Average US Household * A new report found that former Vice President Al Gore’s estate near Nashville, Tennessee, used more than 21 times more energy than the average U.S. household over the past year. * The report by the National Center for Public Policy Research, citing the public electric company that powers Gore’s home, found that the 10,070-square-foot mansion used 230,889 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity during the past 12 months.
* According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the average American house uses less than 11,000 kilowatt hours annually." -- Hmmm.. guess Algore's claim to "greenness" must be limited to how he "feels  around the gills" today.. You know, I thought he and Tipper had divorced, but apparently not.. this may explain why the utility bills are so high.. Algore must be trying to cool down the hell he created for him and Tipper.

Why do businesses continue to feel that automated phone menus enhance the experience their customers have? Give me a capable human who speaks English as his/her primary language, and I'll continue.. even increase.. doing business with them in the future.

---
CNN's Jim Acosta got an education... and his head handed to him...  yesterday on the diversity of countries who's citizens know/learn the English language as he exposed his bias, and his ignorance....and his racist attitude to the nation as well as the rest of mainscream media.

Have you seen the bank formerly known as Columbus Bank& Trust's new slogan..."here is where we know you by name not an account number."? There is nothing "homey" about Synovus..

---
In Trump's reminder of the current new bill addressing legal immigration, he emphasizes the importance of immigrants assimilating into the American way of life. You could the liberals' gender neutral panties being sucked into their rectum in disbelief. Let me ask..does a true immigrant seeking to improve theirs lives really want to bring the life they are fleeing from to restart their lives here?

Noticed MCSD buses on Veterans Parkway on a used car lot...are those consigned or did the MCSD sell/auction them off to a dealer? Now the biggie..if our school buses are good enough to resell, why are we replacing them?

This is a bonus for "The Breakfast Club". A fellow BCer passed along this website of historical pictures you probably have never seen.. Well worth your time.. some are caustic, some are poignant.. all are amazing.

L-E headline: "Ribbon-cutting marks MCSD arts school’s ‘long-awaited fulfillment of a vision’" -- A sad thing about this school is that when Page 1 Award winners are announced, no other school's nominee will have a chance at winning because it will embarrass the concerted effort to group the elite talented under one roof.. even sadder is that all this talent will be corralled under the mentoring of a single group of instructors which will kill the individuals creativity and individuality.

L-E headline/story: "Two men charged in fatal shooting of Carver High graduate * Two men were charged in the death of the Carver High graduate who was shot July 14 on Farr Road, authorities said. * Alex Antonio Wilson, 18, and Lorenza Davonta Madden, 19, were taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with reckless conduct in connection with the incident. Wilson faces an additional charge of involuntary manslaughter." -- "additional charge of involuntary manslaughter"? Good grief.. that[means these two will be out on the streets again.. that's shameful! I do have a burning question for our DA... "How can it be consider "involuntary manslaughter" when a gun is aimed, and a trigger is pulled"?

L-E story: "More than 5,000 Columbus area disadvantaged students will be better prepared for the start of the new school year because the fourth annual Stuff the Bus initiative, conducted by the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, produced a record amount of donations. *  United Way officials announced during Wednesday’s celebration in the Char-Broil parking lot that 5,226 backpacks filled with school supplies are being distributed this week among 33 Title I schools: 24 in Muscogee County, five in Phenix City, three in Russell County and one in Harris County" -- Just a curiosity question.. doesn't "rewarding" failure dampen the drive and initiative for people to strive and achieve? What about the children in non-title 1 schools who want to better themselves.. are they not worthy of being elevated for their efforts?

Seems there was a real life version of Beauty and the Beast going on in the 1970s... Pete Rose was the BEAST.  Guess there was a cryptic message to his nickname... "Charlie Hustle".. looks like he may have  hustled us all.

Online story: "SANAA (Reuters) - A man convicted of raping and murdering a three-year-old girl was executed in the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Monday in front of hundreds of onlookers, witnesses said. * A policeman fired five bullets from an assault rifle into Muhammad al-Maghrabi, 41, as he lay with his hands handcuffed behind his back on a blanket on the ground in Sanaa's Tahrir Square, after a judge read out the death sentence." * Yahya al-Matari, the father of the girl, told reporters after the execution that he felt as if he had been reborn. "This is the first day in my life," he said. "I am relieved now."-- You know.. justice served IS justice.. Somebody post his in Carlton Gary's ... and any of his lawyers' offices..oh.. and especially the JUDGE's!

Some smart(_*_) on Facebook has suggested that Trump supporters be drafted if we get into an all out war.. In a nut shell, WE won't have to be drafted..WE are ready to serve our country... now,  the smart(_*_)s, on the other hand, need to decide whether WE are to consider you FRIENDs or FOE!

---
Listening to the battle of the richest men in the world in recent months because of the rise in stock prices since Trump's election adds such hypocritical aspects to the the rants about Trump not being their president

---
Why are all Republicans being blasted about not getting things done, when it's only a handful of so-called Republicans that are gumming up things, and it's all 48 of the Democrats that are in a locked-arm protest against what the majority of voters want to Make America Great Again.

---
Democrats are grumbling about needing "better" leadership before the 2018 mid-term elections. . personally, the Democrats need a better message or nothing else matters.

---
Hey, Obama..you, too, Sean Penn ..when are you going down to Venezuela for a new, all smiles. hand-shaking photo-op with the Venezuelan despot?

There's a list of the "Best States for Women".. Oklahoma, Louisiana, Utah, Mississippi, Missouri, Texas, Michigan, Virginia, Georgia, and Kansas were the Top 10... Hmm.. Hey Hellary.. wanna know "What Happened"... nine of the 10 Best States for Women voted AGAINST you and FOR Trump... That's "what happened"!

Saw a spectacle outside of Atty Mike Hostilo's Columbus office yesterday evening during rush hour..looked like every radio station in town had a "on location" van on site..Hmmm maybe chasing ambulances is too expensive or competitive, so he wanted to create a multi-car collision outside his office.

You know, if I needed to take a brain supplement, why would I want to take one that gets it's main ingredient from jellyfish? I've never had a good experience involving a jellyfish.

L-E story: "An official crucial to running Kenya's presidential election next week has been found tortured and killed, the electoral commission chairman said Monday, as concerns grew that the East African nation's vote again would face dangerous unrest." -- Hey, Obama.. why haven't you grabbed Jimmy Carter and gone to Kenya to monitor your family's country's election..

---
Online headline/story: "Landowner’s Bill of Rights tested at Georgia Supreme Court *  A case that could have implications for how the government takes private property is being weighed by the Georgia Supreme Court. * The city has a duty to tax payers not to overpay, but is obligated to give “fair compensation” for anything it takes. " -- "duty ... NOT to overpay"? Let's see if we can tack on what Mayor Tom-LYING-son has authorized to overpay for enterprise and redevelopment properties on Cusseta Road and connecting streets?

---
You know.. when property is assessed, there is no consideration for the costs the owner has to absorb in selling it.. selling costs can run from 6% to 10% (depending on residential/commercial) of a FMV determined by a willing buyer/seller. Property assessments should at least be reduced by such amounts.

From the "look at us libs be generous.. but not enough to matter" department - L-E story: "George Clooney’s foundation is planning to open seven public schools for Syrian refugee children. * The Clooney Foundation for Justice announced a new partnership Monday with Google, HP and UNI-CEF to provide education for more than 3,000 refugee children in Lebanon. * George and Amal Clooney said in a statement Monday that the foundation’s commitment of more than $2 million toward education for Syrian refugees aims to prevent thousands of young people from becoming “a lost generation.” -- Hmmm $2,000,000.00 ,, though not piffling.. hardly enough to keep a generation from getting "lost".. For 3,000 children, that's $666.66 per child.. ,,hmmm.. that's a lot of 6's.. like it's said.. "the DEVIL is in the details"

L-E headline: "Property tax appeals lead to longer assessor’s hours" -- Good grief.. now we're gonna hear Mayor Tom-LYING-son complain that overtime pay is the reason she can't balance the budget, and she needs to raise property taxes even more.
