How about a great big applause and "thank you" to Trump, our national security agencies, and our local law enforcement agencies who stayed diligently alert while we celebrated of nation's birthday. Yesterday would have been an ideal target date for jihadist to destroy/disrupt our sense of security.

---
Online headline: "Trump to military personnel: 'I will always have your back'" -- Hmmm... why is it that only Republican presidents unabashedly stand behind our troops and their families?

---
You know, don't you wonder about the biggest advocates for abortions relationships with their mothers?

---
Just got our 2017 Tax Assessment and it's a different figure than is what is on the Muscogee County Tax Database.. how can this be?

---
Online story: "The Canadian government will apologize and give millions to a former Guantanamo Bay prisoner who pleaded guilty to killing a U.S. soldier in Afghanistan when he was 15, an official said Tuesday. * The Canadian-born Khadr pleaded guilty in 2010 to charges that included murder and was sentences to eight years plus the time he had already spent in custody. He returned to Canada two years later to serve the remainder of his sentence and was released in May 2015 pending an appeal of his guilty plea, which he said was made under duress. * The Canadian Supreme Court ruled in 2010 that Canadian intelligence obtained evidence from Khadr under “oppressive circumstances,” such as sleep deprivation, during interrogations at Guantanamo Bay in 2003, and then shared that evidence with U.S officials *  An official familiar with the matter told the Associated Press that Omar Khadr will receive $8 million." -- Good grief! I hope Trump puts Canada on the "no travel" and "sanctions" list as a country that is openly financing terrorists!

---
Online headline/story: "EPA-funded lab faked research results on respiratory illnesses, whistleblower lawsuit claim * Duke University has admitted that one of its lab technicians falsified or fabricated research data on respiratory illnesses that were used to get large grants from the Environmental Protection Agency. *  former lab analyst Joseph Thomas alleges that all or nearly all the work ERin  Potts-Kant did during her eight years at Duke compromised grants worth $112.8 million to Duke and another $120.9 million to institutions like UNC-Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University" -- Good grief.. the EPA, with 15,000 employees, yet not one wrote a regulation prohibiting falsification of test results?  Shut it down President Trump!

---
From the "haven't they learned anything from Trump" department - The NYPD was on Fox detailing all the ways it would securing people for last night's 4th of July fireworks show.. Now, jihadists have a pretty good understanding about what to expect if ..IF .. any were planning some dastardly act.. you know,  when you have good hand in poker, you don't show your hand to your opponents.

---
This past Sunday, my bride and I visited a relatively new eatery across from the Post Office after church services.. We'd both had bakery items from there at outside events, so we decided to try it for lunch.. we won't be back.. when we ordered, one employee rang up the order, took my cash, then retrieved the fruit tarts and delivered the same to us to take back to our table to await our quiches being prepared.. sounds innocent enough, but.. BUT she did so without having any gloves on.. I cannot accept someone handing cash register keys, cash, then handing my food...without gloves .. or at least some waxed paper or other suitable material...

---
Online story: "Well, one transgender activist insists that straight men who don’t desire transgender women simply have an issue they “should try to work through. * Well, one transgender activist insists that straight men who don’t desire transgender women simply have an issue they “should try to work through.” -- "straight men... have an issue THEY "should try to work through"?  Seems like the ones who haven't worked through an issue are the ones that decided to be transgendered..

---
From the "touche'... and where do I send a donation to" department - Online story: "Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren refused to take a DNA test mailed to her by Indian-American entrepreneur V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai, who’s running against her for her U.S. Senate seat. *  Ayyadurai then posted hilarious screenshots of a DNA test kit he purchased online as a birthday gift for Warren, who turned 68 in June." -- and in case you, too, want to make a donation... https://shiva4senate.com/

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Great Ledger-Enquirer story of Dr. Heval Kelli, the Syrian refugee welcomed to America by the Episcopal Church. As a cardiologist, he will save lives. Wondering how many Dr. Kellis are languishing in immigrant prisons." -- Answer: Zero.. Dr Kelli was admitted.. now, LIV, answer this one.. how many potential jihadists are being held out from entering  the US without valid documentation ...

As we celebrate the beginning of the greatest nation our world has known, let us not minimize the wisdom of forefathers. They wrote and entrusted us with a Constitution that has withstood changes in attitude of our nation's people..and has allowed the needed corrections that reflected the acceptance that all people were created equal. A path to citizenship, a path to vote, a path to equal rights for all...women and minorities.. is now protected because American's grew and became a better nation than even our forefathers created.... What once were differences are now our strengths. Let's celebrate our oneness. God Bless America!

Online headline/story: "Trump's election didn't actually inspire more Americans to move to Canada *  In the first four months of 2016, an average of 264 people filed applications each month. This year, the number rose to 400 in that period — that's more than a 50% jump from 2016 but just half of the average from 2012. The data actually suggests a trend of declining applications overall." -- "declining trend"? You know, I'll bet Canada realizes it is better off when liberals win here... because.. BECAUSE when liberals win, earnest, productive Americans choose to go to Canada, but, when earnest, productive Americans win elections, liberal whiners and slackers increase...

---
I do not know who the anchors were on Fox yesterday, but I changed stations because they were talking like they were working for CNN. Fox has already lost me in the evenings since O'Reilly was cut loose, and I already change the station any time Shepard Smith, Geraldo or Juan Williams is talking on any Fox show.

---
The video spoof of Trump whupping up on CNN is a great way to identify even closet liberals. If they don't laugh at it, they are liberals.

---
The saddest thing about the Republican effort to pass a replacement healthcare bill for OObamaCRAP is that the costs of healthcare rose so much under OObamaCRAP, that hospitals and insurance companies had to alter their administrative costs so much, that neither can go back to their costs pre-OObamaCRAP.

---
When you think about CNN basically demanding "a safe place" from President Trump, CNN has basically been exposed as a bully itself by supporting the Democrats advocating a bill to allow themselves to medically diagnose Trump..when in actuality, the Democrats have proven they don't even have the ability to diagnose it's huge loss in the November and subsequent Special Elections since.

---
From the "where do liberals come up with feel good ideas" department - Online story: "A new law meant to protect you from drunk drivers is now in effect in Georgia. * In the first change to Georgia’s DUI law in nearly 20 years, the state will now begin enforcing an ignition interlock law. * The law will require some first-time offenders to install an ignition interlock device, which prevents a car from starting if the sensors detect the alcohol level on the driver’s breath is above the legal limit for them to operate a vehicle." -- Good grief.. there isn't but one thing that will make a dent in drunk driver's lives.. impounding of the vehicle they get caught in and  upon convict, confiscation of such vehicle.. whether it's theirs. pr someone else's.  I can think of two immediate "solutions" to getting a breath-smelling feature overridden without extending my self.. 1 - just grab a stranger walking by, and giving them $5.00 to "blow into the meter", or easier still, before you leave your house, blow up several small balloons, and put them in your glove box/console. When you've been drinking. just put a balloon over the meter and let the air out.

---
From the "maybe all  judge's should have a 5 year period in which their title can be revoked" department - Online story: "A judge in Florida ruled Monday that the state's updated "stand your ground" law, which required prosecutors to disprove a defendant's self-defense case at pretrial hearings, is unconstitutional, setting up a showdown that could make its way to the state's top court. * Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Milton Hirsch ruled that the amendment to the law allowed lawmakers to overstep their authority, adding that it should have been crafted by the Florida Supreme Court in the first place"{ -- "adding that it should have been crafted by the Florida  Supreme Court in the first place"? This judge needs to be ousted on treason, and all his previous decisions be vacated!!  His injection that the Florida Supreme Court should be in charge of writing and interpreting laws is basically government terrorism! ... Not to mention truly unconstitutional.

---
Incredibly ignorant LIV's L-E "soundoff": "We were promised jobs (we have to fund), perimeter security (fences we would have to pay for) and goodbye Obamacare (aiding the rich and already financed by retirees). You’ve been duped by Trump’s con game." -- Good grief.. This writer just suffered 8 years of America being "transformed" form greatness, and doesn't have patience but for 6 months as Trump aims at restoring America to its greatness...Oh.. and as for "promised jobs"... the jobs are there and more are coming, but YOU are going to have to get off your butt and find them... oh, and be prepared TO work!

---
L-E story: "The Georgia Department of Transportation had two regional winners in the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Official’s 2016 America’s Transportation Awards, and one was from Columbus. * According to a report in the Spring 2017 Georgia Milepost Magazine on the Georgia DOT website, the $8.5 million Brown Avenue Bridge Project won in the Small Project Under Budget category." -- Good grief.. I just rode over this last week and commented about what a waste of money it was to build and arterial bridge with only 2-lanes. North Lumpkin Road should be a key to connecting the growth of South/North Columbus, yet has been kept ineffective by being rebuilt as a 2-lane "clog" for traffic.

I don't know what it is (well, actually, I do.. media bias) that makes mainscream media get its gender-neutral panties in such a wad over inane happenings involving Republicans.. Take the excoriation of NJ Governot Chris Christie for using the beach of a closed state facility this weekend.. He had his family at the state provided gubernatorial beach house which has direct access to said beach.  Under those circumstances, even a Democrat governor would probably done the same.. Get a life mainscream media!

Hmmm. I wish mainscream media had "observed" the Obama's using separate jets for themselves... and even one for their dog... to get to the same vacation sites...

Online story: "President Trump has faced sharp criticism after posting a video of himself at a WWE match punching a man with the CNN logo superimposed over his face. CNN responded: "It is a sad day when the President of the United States encourages violence against reporters. Clearly, Sarah Huckabee Sanders lied when she said the President had never done so. Instead of preparing for his overseas trip, his first meeting with Vladimir Putin, dealing with North Korea and working on his healthcare bill, he is instead involved in juvenile behavior far below the dignity of his office. We will keep doing our jobs. He should start doing his." --  Can you believe CNN complaining about Trump? CNN has a whole lot of rearranging to do in it's own "house". CNN needs to start with apologizing for disrepecting the office of the President regardless of who is President; CNN needs to apologize to America for not reporting scandals involving Hellary, Slick Willie, Holder, Lynch, and Obama; CNN needs to abandon taking  biased political stances; CNN needs to stop promoting liberal's violence against conservative groups; CNN must learn that Trump IS  prepared for his overseas trip; and ...and CNN needs to apologize again and again for how it covered up the atrocities of Saddam Hussein's inhumanities. In short, if CNN wants to be in the news business, CNN needs to start doing its job. In fact, CNN needs to be THANKING Trump for exposing it so it can revise its policies.

---
Online headline: "Trump payroll cuts could save taxpayers $22 million" -- Probably one of Trump's easiest accomplishments.. the attrition of all of Michele Obama's entourage of will cover 10% of this, and Melania riding on the same jet as Trump will minimally save the rest.

From this story: "Trump himself is required to get a paycheck but he is reportedly donating the money to construction on the Department of the Interior and to help restore military cemeteries." --  Hmm, and I imagine CNN has a story about how Trump is using this for his own benefit......

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Hillary Clinton to launch PAC aiding 2018 candidates, resistance organizations" --"aiding 2018 candidates"? Yeah.. right.. maybe Hellary should try to do  something that will be aiding America instead.

---
From the "what did you expect" department - Not having any other route to save face with their base, Congressional Democrats have resorted to frivolous attempts to promote self-serving bills questioning Trumps mental stability... The truth is that Democrats are really proving their own mental diminishment by trying to convince others that it wasn't their fault that Trump won, and the voters want more conservatives in Congress.

---
Someone has compiled a list of Will Ferrell's "10 best " movies.. I'm upset the "Elf" wasn't #1, but more upset that apparently there are actually more than 10 other Will Ferrell movies circulating.

---
L-E headline/story: "6 months of free in-state commuter rail begins Monday * The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is offering the free service among the state's three commuter rail stations, Providence, Warwick's T.F. Green or North Kingstown's Wickford Station. Ridership numbers at Wickford have been much lower than projections since the service began in 2012." -- bet this is omen-like for Queen Tom-LYING-son's high speed rail predictions

---
L-E headline: "Theoretically, the Braves aren’t out of division race" -- "Theoretically"? let's talk reality

---
L-E editorial headline: "Do we still believe in free speech? Only until we disagree" -- and it's WAY obvious when you look at the letters/op-eds the L-E does print from liberal sources versus conservative sources .

---
L-E headline/story: "Discarded waste is too close to Fall Line Trace walking trail * Until the waste appeared, most problems for the trail were good. People started using the trail before it was completed in 2015, and users have not stopped pounding the 12-foot wide patch of asphalt. The entire trail runs 11 miles from Psalmond Road south to the 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge in downtown. * Although the trail is maintained by the Parks and Recreation Department, Rick Jones, director of the Planning Department for Columbus Consolidated Government, said he hadn’t heard about the solid waste near the trail. “That is the first I have heard of it,” he said Friday."* Jones said the trail is popular. “Yes, absolutely,” he said. “They are wearing that thing out, which is a good thing.” -- Two things become apparent.. one is that the P & R may not be spending enough time of maintenance if now hearing about  the solid waste "is the first I have heard about it", and secondly, since "they are wearing that thing out", it's obvious that bikers/hikers do cause damage to roadways, and if they want to "Share the road", they need to "Share the LOAD".. Bike licenses and acquiring biking licenses  would help pay it.. plus insure better knowledge of bike riding laws.. oh, and make it easier to identify stolen bikes..

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Yayyyy, we're number one! America is #1 in the world in spending for healthcare. The flip side is that we are ranked #37 in the world for healthcare services delivered." -- Hmmm.. then how about this LIV pick one of the "top 36" to move to ...

---
Uber_LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The poorest states are controlled by Republicans. GOP working-class voters keep electing the same kind of politicians who take and take and take from them. It really makes me wonder what is wrong with these sad people." -- You know, he question here is not so much about the L-E printing such an unfounded "fact", but why the L-E intentionally prints unfounded "facts" throughout it's offerings.

---
Ignorant LIV's L-E "soundof": "Frank Myers is a bully engaged in undermining the Muscogee County School Board and the school system. Shame on him." -- You know.. it's easily assumable that David Lewis.. or his wife, could have submitted this...

---
I'm about fed up with cable TV....You know.. it's not about cable companies charges for cable access TV, it's about scrolling through the TV offerings and finding nothing worth watching on the Big 3 Networks....

---
L-E story: "With industry’s help, Pruitt surges toward altering EP * In a sign of both Pruitt’s influence in the White House and the high regard in which Trump holds him, he will take a leading role in devising the legal path to withdraw from the Paris agreement on climate change, a job that would typically go to the State Department. * And he is doing all this largely without the input of the 15,000 career employees at the agency he heads, according to interviews with over 20 current and former EPA senior career staff members." "doing it largely without input of the 15,000 career employees"?  Good grief, 15,000 employees "trash" would clear a forest!  Oh, and remembering the joke that a camel was created when a committee was engaged to design a horse pretty much describes what you get when 15,000 career liberal design EPA regulations unchecked..

---
From the "let's make it appear the culprit doesn't sound like a liberal" department - L-E "headLIE"/story: "Pope replaces conservative cardinal" * Francis and German Cardinal Gerhard Mueller had clashed, most recently over the pope’s cautious opening to letting civilly remarried Catholics receive Communion. * It was also the second major shake-up this week, after Francis granted another Vatican hard-liner, Cardinal George Pell, a leave of absence to return to his native Australia to face trial on sexual assault charges. -- Good grief.. Poop Francis just axed a traditional Cardinal for not going along with his Highness's deviance from Catholic doctrine... and blamed it on "conservatism".. That's two dismissed Cardinals this past week and both served at the whim and pleasure of Poop Francis... sounds more like the Poop has embraced sharia law...

---
From the "claiming this is too much of a stretch" department - L-E guest editorial headline/content - "COMMENTARY * Getting it wrong – and being accountable * BY JAY BOOKMAN Atlanta Journal-Constitution * Upon learning of its mistake, CNN fully retracted the story. It publicly apologized to Scaramucci, who graciously accepted it. The three top journalists responsible for the mistake were forced to resign from CNN, and their careers will be permanently damaged. CNN also instituted policies to ensure against a recurrence. In short, it took every step possible to correct its mistake." -- "took EVERY step possible to ensure against a recurrence"?  Good grief.. "allowing" the byline group to "resign" is not taking EVERY step possible.. in fact, it's not even close..

Curious.. the championship game of GA's District 8 Major Boys was played yesterday afternoon between Peach LL and Northern LL, and I haven't found results in the L-E  today (guess the 2:00 PM opening pitch was past the L-E's deadline). Anybody got the results?

2017 hasn't been good for the ex-Fox women...Kelly, Carlson, and Van Susteren. Mainscream media applauded them as they left Fox, but has turned them out since. Looks like they are learning what John McCain learned after winning the 2008 Republican nomination..Mainsream media slathered him with praise during the primary process, but turned on him as soon as he was the.nominee against Obama.

---
Oh! Can anyone connect me with a link that shows "Morning Joe" chastising Obama for his attacks on Fox News reporters and stories?

---
From the " how ironic" department - Trump is sending in a federal task force to work with the Chicago Police Department to combat the street gun problem that has plagued Rahm Emanuel's mayoralship. Ironic in that Emanuel was Obama's original Chief-of-staff, yet Obama did nothing to help him, while Trump is stepping across the aisle to try to Make Chicago Great Again.

---
Trump literally told the Republicans to "either fish, or cut bait"..."either s***, or get off the can" when he told them to repeal 00bamaCRAP now and replace it later.

---
The one thing that no liberal can explain about 00bamaCRAP is that people voluntarily paid a non-participants tax rather than buy poorly constructed insurance plans.

---
Some states are refusing to cooperate with the commission to investigate past voter fraud...Question: why would any state not want to cooperate?

---
Liberal have their man-panties in a wad...they are upset at the thought of GOP "operatives" seeking hackers to get Hellary' e-mails. Gimmee a break, did anyone really think about the Democrats trying to get them and bring them to light?

---
Why is mainscream media only interested in the appropriateness of what Trump tweets but not what mainscream spews?

---
It's amazing how mainscream media accuses Trump of bullying...of course, mainscream media considers any responsive opinion different from theirs is bullying...the truth is that mainscream media has gotten so used to "political correctness" protecting them regardless of however incorrect their opinions are that they've forgotten their job is really about digging up and reporting the truth.

---
Does Senator UpChuck Schmoozer do anything other than stand at the rostrum in the Senate chamber when the Senate is in recess and complain about what Trump wants to do?

---
Looks like Venus Williams' defense for vehicular homicide will be "celebrity privilege"...sorta like Sen Ted Kennedy's Chappaquiddick defense when May Jo Kopechnewas left in his car to drown or Caitlyn Jenner's ....oooops, excuse me, I think she used the "out of body" defense since she was in Bruce's body at the time.

---
Has anyone been able to find..downloaded the Chattahoochee RiverWarden's Swim Guide for Android devices?

---
Today is July 1st.. the beginning of Fiscal Tear 2018 in GA and Columbus..You know, it also marks the beginning of the last year Mayor Tom-LYING-son has a chance to finish the River Road/Bradley Park/Cascade/Green Island Drive "round-a-bout" before a new mayor is elected next May (that's something else that needs to be changed.. local elections of City and School Board officials should be held on the November General Election date). Ironic, isn't it, that Tom-LYING-son won't be around when such is, if ever, finished..  guess she'll just claim that the GA DOT never got" around about to it".

---
Online headline/story: "Georgia to skip sales tax-free weekend * It’s official: there will be no tax-free weekends in Georgia this year. * State lawmakers failed to pass legislation during this year’s Legislative session to provide for any 2017 tax holidays, according to the Georgia Department of Revenue, ending the state’s two tax-free weekends. *  Teachers, students, and their families have used the annual back-to-school tax-free weekend to save money while stocking up on school supplies, clothes, and electronics before the start of the school year. The weekend had been scheduled for July 29-30" --  "State lawmakers failed to pass legislation during this year’s Legislative session"?  Hey.. whatta we pay these folks for!

You know, why doesn't Mayor Tom-LYING-son and her Council declare it a weekend of no "LOST or SPLOST" taxes.. at least locals could save 3% of the expense of back-to-school clothes/supplies.

---
From the "now we know how much the Democrats REALLY wasted in the 2017 District 6 Special Election" department - Online story: "Rodney Stooksbury is the Democrat who captured about 38 percent of the vote in November in the race against Rep. Tom Price. He raised no money, had no social media or online presence and as far as we can tell, he never had any campaign events." -- Good grief.. the Dems had 38% of the vote in November without spending a dime, and then spent $35 - $40 MILLION in the Special Elwection and runoff to get but 10% more of the vote....Ossoff's loss is even MORE embarrassing (and costly) for Democrats than anyone previously has thought.

---
From the "one side's viewpoint is as bad as the other side's" department - L-E story: "Anthem Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of Georgia announced earlier this month in letters to some policyholders that it will no longer cover the cost of emergency room care if a “prudent layperson” would not consider the treatment an emergency. *  The new policy will not apply to children 13 and younger, members who do not have an urgent care clinic within 15 miles, or ER visits on Sundays and major holidays, when the emergency room is often the only medical establishment open. *  The move is not without its critics. The American College of Emergency Physicians condemned the policy change and said that it “violated federal law.” *  "This new policy will mean that patients experiencing emergencies will not go to the ER because of fear of a bill, and could die as a result," *  "Health plans have a long history of not paying for emergency care. Now, they are trying to roll over federal law that emergency physicians fought for to protect patients from this 'profits first, people last' behavior by insurers." -- "to protect patients from this 'profits first, people last' behavior by insurers"?  Excuse me, but isn't the "kettle" calling the "pot" black? When has any Emergency Room operated on the "people first. profits last" basis.. I remember cutting one of my fingers pretty bad, and going to the Emergency Room to get it attended.  I also remember waiting over two hours to get seen, and when  seen, the ER doctor decided that it could be treated with "butterfly strips" (and my non-use for 10 days), so he had a nurse apply one "butterfly strip" and a "finger sleeve".. My bill for this was $1,000.00 for the Dr's time and, get this, $323.00 for the bandage.

---
Online headline: "Sanders investigation: Bernie's wife attempted to evict disabled group home residents, report claims" -- You know..without any other facts presented, I do believe that this charge is probably true.. It just supports Bernie's "communist doctrine" of eliminating the weak and defenseless if they aren't able to pull their weight for "the party".

---
Queen Nancy.. a.k.a. Pelosi. describes repealing OObamaCRAP is a slur against God...She said, "To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God that made us"... but when asked about whether she's talked to God about abortions, Pelosi is completely wordless.. You know, she may be right about what her god feels, but her god is "other people's money".

---
Online headline/story: "An initiative by the leaders of Australian Public Service to promote gender equality through blind recruitment efforts has failed, according to reports  *  Researchers assumed that removing gender identifiers from an application would make it easier for women to obtain employment in senior positions that have traditionally been dominated by men. *  The trial, which was an effort to push more women in senior position jobs, revealed that removing the gender from a candidate’s application does not help boost gender equality in hiring. The trial also revealed that adding a male name to a candidate’s application made them 3.2 percent less likely to get the job while adding a female name made it 2.9 percent more likely that the candidate would be hired. * We anticipated this would have a positive impact on diversity — making it more likely that female candidates and those from ethnic minorities are selected for the shortlist,” said Professor Michael Hiscox, a Harvard academic." -- "anticipated this would have a positive impact on diversity"? Oh.. the results are even worse than they are since the goal was to prove their goal, not see what was really happening.. Guess education, and previous job experiences really are justified in hiring whether a man or woman...

---
From the "what's wrong with this" department - L-E headline/story: "Tomlinson talks issues, Democrats on radio show * On Wednesday, the mayor was one of three panelists on GPB’s “Political Rewind,” where the subject of her political future surfaced once again. The hourlong show aired at 2 p.m. * “I’m really happy; we’re joined by Mayor of Columbus, Teresa Tomlinson,” said host Bill Nigut, while introducing her to his statewide audience. “She’s been talked about as a candidate, a Democratic candidate, for governor for a long time. She has already said, ‘Nope, not going there.’” * Then Nigut said to Tomlinson: “There were a lot of people who thought this was gonna be your year to do it, mayor.” * Tomlinson’s response? * “Well, you know, truth be told – and I’m just gonna be honest – if I thought about it sooner, I may have done that,” she responded" -- What's wrong with this? Bunches! To start, Mayor Tom-LYING-son saying, "truth be told.. and I'm just gonna be honest" pretty much says you should forget reading at that point, but then when you realize that it took until Friday for this to make it in the L-E (guess Thursday's "cut off time" was before Tom-LYING-son's radio show), and that the L-E had to run this article to show that GPR had a Radio Show..

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Our President can put his picture on a fake Time magazine cover, and that's OK; but he tells us that everything else is fake news." -- Good grief.. there have been sites to put your own face on magazine covers for 50 or more years! I remember when a favorite "Father's Day" gift was a "Sports Illustrated" or "Times Man-of-the-year" cover with your dad's picture on it.. Liberals just have too much time on their hands.. must be because they aren't working and have too much time on their hands to feel "petty" about successful people.

---

From the "what's wrong with this picture" department - L-E story and picture: "a dance instructor teaching a workshop for the Thompson-Pound Art Program, teaches participants a butterfly dance as part of this years theme of transforming me to we." --  Pink scarves for the boys, too? If the idea was for lack of diversity, why not blue scarves or all?

Friday, June 30, 2017

Online "headLIE": "Majority of Americans think President Trump is abusing his powers" -- Perhaps "Majority of  Liberal-Americans think President Trump is abusing his powers", or "Majority of Uninformed-Americans think President Trump is abusing his powers", or "Majority of Journalist-Americans think President Trump is abusing his powers", but not the majority of Patriotic-Hard Working-Tax Paying-Americans.

---
Random Thought: Of all the ways to get people listen to your ideas, ANGER is the least effective to rally long lasting support.

---
From the "now we understand why Fox parted ways with Gretchen Carlson" department - Online story: " (Carlson) quoted a December 2015 poll showing majority support for an “assault weapons” ban and said, “I’m with the majority today, taking a stand.” *  Interestingly, when confronted by Second Amendment supporters on Twitter, Carlson doubled down on her pro-ban stance, claiming that “the fact that you’re even using the Second Amendment as an argument against banning assault weapons shows me you’re ignorant. Don’t you know the 2nd Amendment was written before guns were even invented?”" -- Our "2nd Amendment was written BEFORE guns were invented"?  While the first use of a "firearm was recorded in Sweden during the 5th Century, use of what we refer to as "guns" appeared in 1364. I learned this from a PBS website so even liberals should know better.

---
Online headline/story: "MSNBC fires Greta Van Susteren, replaces her with liberal host *  Greta Van Susteren is out at MSNBC less than six months after she started at the cable channel. * MSNBC said that Van Susteren's nightly 6 p.m. show would be replaced with one hosted by Ari Melber, MSNBC's chief legal correspondent who also hosts his own weekend show, "The Point." -- Hmmm.. While not surprised that Van Susteren wasn't "liberal enough" (DOH! MSNBC's most popular host is Rachel Maddow.), MSNBC has another problem it will have to explain.. MSNBC fired a woman and replaced her with a man....

---
L-E headline: "Georgia Power Company spokesman explains why they're closing Columbus payment center" -- Hmmm.. sounds more like GA Power is no longer interested in being a participating "citizen" in Columbus... GA Power is eliminating local jobs, eliminating paying local property and B.I.D. taxes, and happy to let customers "pay fees" for the "privilege" of paying their bills to other bill payment agents. Hey, PSC, GA Power's expenses are going DOWN... how about adjusting their "rates" down...

---
Online headline/story: "NJ millionaires-on-welfare bust: More arrests to come, prosecutor says *  The seven wealthy New Jersey couples, including a rabbi and his wife, who allegedly gamed the system to collect about $2 million in unmerited welfare benefits may just be the tip of the iceberg. *  One of the couples allegedly received Medicaid benefits for multiple years despite their annual income of more than $1 million, the complaint said." -- Hmmm.. wanna bet that none of them was a Trump voter in 2016?

---
Online headline: "Study finds US city with the worst drivers" -- I'm wondering how Columbus didn't make this "list", but then I realize, the two-week narrowing of 13th Street wasn't factored in..

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "President Trump 'obsessed with former President Obama,' columnist claims * President Donald Trump has spent much of the first six months of his presidency promoting his own agenda, but he's also worked to dismantle some of his predecessor's achievements. * In an op-ed in the NYT. columnist Charles Blow argued President's Trump's actions prove he's absorbed withe the former president's successes. -- "(Trump's) absorbed withe the former president's successes"?  Good grief.. Obama's "sucessess" would take less than 2 minutes to dismantle.. it's his failures that are taking so much time for a weak Congress to dissolve.

---
From the "only in California" and the "when you imagined California had no room to grow insanity wise" departments - Online headline/story: "San Francisco to pay $190G to undocumented immigrant over sanctuary law violation, lawyer says *  A man from El Salvador in the U.S. illegally who sued San Francisco after police turned him over to immigration authorities in violation of the city's sanctuary law is set to be awarded $190,000 *  A man from El Salvador in the U.S. illegally who sued San Francisco after police turned him over to immigration authorities in violation of the city's sanctuary law is set to be awarded $190,000" -- Good grief.. not only should San Francisco be cut completely off any more fed tax funds, but San Francisco should be sued for the return of previous fed tax funds!  Now.. how did the man get a car/driver's licence, and was he illegally registered to vote via California's "motor-voter" laws?

---
What's the latest in finishing the Uptown Columbus rerouting 12th Street project?  It was a combination deal with rerouting 10th Street and 12th Street back into 2-way streets with bike lanes? I though the money was already reserved to do so.Personally, the first half of the project (10th Street) is a commercial disaster, but... Council needs to either finish it or apologize for wasting money and correct the damage already created.

---
Wow! The first half of 2017 ends tonight at midnight..

---
Mainscream media is dumbstruck at how Trump "punches back" when they get too big for their britches.. yet not one of the leftist rebuked Obama in 2011 when he filleted Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner while Trump had no opportunity to respond.

---
Trump is getting excoriated for "attacking" the woman co-host of "Morning Joe".. In reality, Trump is just punching back at people who have gotten away with being bullies with microphones for so long that they feel entitled to be unaccountable for what they say.

---
Online story: "Gainesville and Hall County are in early talks to establish a land bank authority — a tool giving local governments broad powers to obtain properties that are blighted, vacant or on delinquent tax rolls — and put them back to productive use," -- Good grief.. please make sure Columbus Mayor Tom-LYINGson doesn't see this until after today's filing date passes! Makes her T.A.D.s picayunish when compared to taxpayer abuse potential.. While the "idea" feels good, name me a government project that has actually "put them (confiscated properties) back to PRODUCTIVE use".

---
With all the disappointments Columbus has suffered during the demise of the L-E, I really thought we'd seen the bottom and could not be disappointed in L-E "failures" anymore... but I am wrong.. it's 10 minutes to 8:00 AM and the e-dition of the L-E is nowhere in sight..  will include any accidental-in-value stories tomorrow, as I have more Breakfact Club reades waiting on me to wait any longer on the L-E.

The recent revelation of property values in the Columbus Park Crossing area not only should wake up the Tax Assessor's office, it ought to revive MCSB conversations about selling the near 44 acres it owns on Whitesville Road being used as a school bus repair shop and graveyard. It wasn't too long ago that Jay Auto sold 24 acres at $1 MILLION per acre, and now an acre on Whittlesey just sold for over $3 MILLION. The MCSD has room to move those buses and repair shop to the old Brown Avenue School property.

---
Tuesday morning, after going to the National Infantry Museum with my brother, we returned via N. Lumpkin Road/Brown Ave. Wanted to see why the City felt paying 50+ percent more for properties than assessed value was a good investment for the taxpayers.. Scratched my head as I rode by that purchase, but really became disappointed as we rode over the replacement bridge over the railroad tracks. I thought to myself, why would the City leaders feel rebuilding that bridge as a 2-lane road would be beneficial to revamping that area.

---
You know, liberals have plenty of "words" on how to "solve" racism.. unfortunately, their actions are counter-productive to getting better results.

---
Republicans could do a lot for their public image by remaining in session and knocking out their version of healthcare...with or without Democrats.

---
Right now , either party could endear itself just by making it clear that it is working for the good of the country rather than " the party".

---
Remember the hullabaloo when it was reported that Hunter Biden was having an affair with his deceased brother's widow..while he was separated from his wife. Anybody got a clue about what they are up to now? They are Democrats, so we know mainscream media is not going to keep us up-to-date.

---
I had to laugh a bit when Fox smugly reported about the demise of CNN's "credibility". Fox should be concerned about its own demise.. O'Reilly is gone, but Shepard Smith and Juan Williams are not...  to boot, Fox keeps bringing in liberal spinmeisters who will not abandon their "talking points" to engage in meaningful conversations.

---
L-E headline: "Starbucks’ iced coffee may have fecal bacteria in it — so do all these other things" -- Hmmm.. think I'll stick with what I brew at home.

---
L-E headline: "Traffic congestion a major challenge for Midland shopping development" --  Hmmm.. how about some double-decker round-a-bouts..or maybe figure-8s or tunnels?

---
Online headline: "Susan Rice suggests race, gender bias linked to 'unmasking' backlash" -- If lying about the truth won't get you out of the "fire", then throw down the "Race" card.. and if that doesn't work, either, throw down the "gender" card. Seems Rice is forgetting she joined in supporting the lies of a black male and a white woman so she hasn't "a leg to stand on".. Hey, Susan Rice.. no leg to stand on?; then why not throw down the "handicap"  card, too!

---
L-E story: " A Muscogee County School board member claims the board chair’s accusation that he violated an ethics clause has no support. The alleged ethics violations stems from Frank Myers’ willingness to be deposed in the case of Columbus teen Montravious Thomas. Montravious attended Edgewood Student Services Center in Fall 2016." -- Good grief.. EVERY MCSB member should be volunteering to bring the truth out in the open..A young man's life has been devastated.. not only by the physical injuries but by an attempt to cover the School Administration's butt.

---
Wanna give Mayor Tom-LYING-son your 2-cents on what you think about her handling Columbus' present,, and future..Here's the donation website of her college..(www,sbc.edu/give). Visit there and make a "2-cents" donation in her "memory"..

---
Wallethub has a new "list" out.. it names the 50 states in order of their "patriotism" based on 13 bits of criteria..GA was rated the 9th MOST patriotic..(and 4th in the most important category "Military Engagement"). What is most telling.. and least surprising is that the bottom 7 states on the list (ranked worst to worse - New Jersey, Illinois, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut, and California."
) all voted for Hellary in the 2016 Election.. and they account for 140 Electoral College votes.. which is 52% of all the Electoral College votes Hellary needed to win..

---
L-E headline/story: "Wondering about the water quality in the Chattahoochee River? There’s an app for that *  Rafters, boaters, swimmers and all other river lovers now have a way to check the Chattahoochee’s water quality any time through an app and website called Swim Guide." -- I'm sure this will be a valuable asset, but where can this "app" be acquired.. an extensive search on "Google Play Store" was fruitless..

---
L-E headline/story: "New law allows Fort Benning children to attend any MCSD school — well, almost *  Five MCSD schools aren’t accepting transfers under HB 224: Clubview and Dorothy Height elementary schools, because they don’t have space for additional students, and Britt David Magnet Academy, Columbus High School and Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts, because they are total magnet schools and require all students to apply" -- Hmm.. sorta like they can go anywhere they want to go.. except they can't go where they want to go..

---

L-E headline: "Synovus named Most Reputable Bank in America" -- How does Columbus benefit since the name "Columbus Bank and Trust" is being phased out?  It going from "the bank of here" to "the bank of where?".. Remember when Callaway Gardens changed its logo from "30 Minutes North of Columbus" to "A hour South of Atlanta"?  Hardly  worked out for Callaway Gardens..

From the "simple fact" department - Online story: "House Speaker Paul Ryan sat down with Fox & Friends Tuesday to defend the Senate Republican health care plan. * The Speaker was responding to the Congressional Budget Office report that said 22 million people would be uninsured by 2026 if the Senate's replacement bill passed. * "What they're basically saying at the Congressional Budget Office is if you're not going to force people to buy Obamacare, if you're not going to force people to buy something that they don't want, then they won't buy it. So, it's not that people are getting pushed off a plan, it's that people will choose not to buy something they don't like or want." -- Try as liberals try to make healthcare a US Constitutional issue, the Founding Fathers did not include an amendment guaranteeing nor mandating such.

---
From the "it's not one world" department - Online headline/story: "Reports: Unsuspecting Yazidi sex slave was fed her own child by ISIS *  Vian Dakhil, an Iraqi Parliament member who is also Yazidi, has reportedly revealed on television how a starved ISIS sex slave had been tricked into eating her own child * "One of the women we managed to retrieve from ISIS said that she was held in a cellar for three days without food or water. Afterwards, they brought her a plate of rice and meat, she ate the food because she was very hungry." *  "When she was finished they said to her: 'We cooked your one-year-old son that we took from you, and this is what you just ate.'" -- And libs/mainscream media believe this is tolerable..is culturally acceptable..  well. not in MY eyes.. not in God's eyes..

---
From the "and I agree" department - Bill Russell.. was presented the 1st NBA Lifetime Achievement Award as a player and coach of the Celtics.. (the Celtics were "my team" growing up). % NBA "giants" presented him with the Award..Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ( I remember his as Lew Alcindor) , Shaquille O'Neal, David Robinson, Alonso Mourning and Dikembe Mutombo. After accepting the award, the 83-year-old turned to the other stars, pointed to each one of them and whispered, "I would kick your ass." ...and he would have..

Bill Russell's accomplishments: 11 NBA championships as a player (nearly as many as the other five players have combined), and two more championships as a coach; five league MVP awards and 12 All-Star selections over a 13-year career.  I always wanted Number 6 as my basketball jersey number but it wasn't allowed in high school or college.

---
Yesterday, I picked my younger brother up, and we made a morning celebrating our older brother's "would have been" 74th birthday..We went to breakfast at a Columbus icon, Evelyn's, then went to the National Infantry Museum to see the new exhibit honoring our Revolutionary War and earlier warriors. We talked about our ancestors contributions to the founding and establisment of our Great (Again) country. It was a good day.. Miss you, bro.

---
With healthcare being such an important issue, why don't  the Senate Republicans stay in session and challenge the Democrats do the same?

---
From a WaPo editorial - Headline: "Jon Ossoff: I lost in Georgia; here's what Democrats won" -- Good grief..
the only thing the Democrats "won" was..  the DNC lost the highest cost Congressionial election EVER, and, to boot, the Democrats LOST in their effort to make Trump look weak..

---
Since the US Supreme Court has basically accepted Trump's "entry ban" for people from 6 countries with dysfunctional governments, and will take it up in the Fall session as for specifics, the US Supreme Court should issue blocks for the 9th and 4th District Courts of Appeal on hearing any more cases involving immigration.

---
Again I ask, how can one convert an IRA retirement account, (particularly a non-Roth IRA) to gold and keep it at home? I understood IRAs were retirement accounts to defer taxing revenues until later in life, and there are penalties for early withdrawals.

---
Mainscream media TV journalists are such crybabies... I'm glad the White House is shutting off cameras at press meetings..Reporting raw news and "sound bite" news from press briefings is not a good way to get accurate news to the public.

---
A fellow BCer (and former dependent of the City coffers) brought up a few of Mayor Tom-LYING-son's "achievements":
*Over $3,000,000 of tax payers money for law suits among government entities;
*Highest unemployment in the State for the most months;
*One of the lowest bond ratings of the City in recent times;
*One of the highest crime rates in recent times;

I'll add "worse maintained roads"

In fact, I have a new #1 road in the embarrassing road list.  Slade Drive.. It has bypassed 54th Street and the section of Warm Springs Road from Manchester Expressway to Ezell's Catfish Restaurant. What's particularly embarrassing is that Slade Drive is named for one of our oldest and most prominent Columbus families. There are many Slades in our history, but one Thomas Bogs Slade was married to the daughter of my great-grandfather's brother Richard Kirven, and TB Slade was in the Navy receiving team as the Stature of Liberty was delivered from France.

---
I actually heard a mainscream media head say Trump should curtail his ego.. Excuse me, but I think the "ego problem" is mainscream media.

---
L-E headline: "Council considers spending $1M to pay workers 40-hour bonus" -- Excuse me, but if the "20 hour" adjustment more than makes up for ALL the variables in converting to the new pay schedule (as claimed), why should Council spend unnecessary tax dollars on DOUBLING it? It's not a question of whether each employee is worth it or not, but one of being economically accountable to the taxpayers,

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": 'Why not allow all the illegal immigrants to become resident aliens, not citizens, and no voting rights? Bring them into our tax system. Give them a green card. Stop trying to deport them." -- Hmmm.. can't you just see a gang of MS-13's signing up for "green cards" and enrolling into the tax system.. me neither. Tell you what though.. if this Uber-LIV will identify him/herself, and commit to letting an illegal alien live (and any future arriving family members) live in his.her home. I might consider listening to his/her further drivel.

Once again, the failure of our Tax Assessor's Offices erupts.. Chick-fil-A just bought the property at 5520 Whittlesey (Shogun) for over $3,000,000.00 dollars and is going to raze the existing building and erect it's own. On the surface, it just sounds like business as usual.. but.. our Tax Assessor has the site.. WITH a 10 year old, 68-- sq ft building at a Fair Market Assessment of $1,239,418.00 .. and taxes collected have been "only" $20,450.39, Quick math indicates that if the assessment value had been kept up with, around $50,000.00 could have been coming in annually. Ironically, the Mayor felt going after us deadbeat home owners was the course of action to take.

Wonder if the Mayor's new computer software will do any better?
