A Fed Judge has ruled against a Census question concerning "citizenship" .He didn't say the question was illegal but only that policy and procedures weren't correctly followed. The question is valid..and it will be back.. I have a question though: Why would any American object to a question concerning a respondents citizenship status? Following up on yesterday's comments about the ills of a CSU-MCSD planned guaranteed job for teaching graduates... it's not like CSU is guaranteeing graduates a job in a state school in the city of their preference, nor do I think other school systems would lock-in on such a plan, but there are only so many teaching positions in MCSD, and with slow attrition, non-CSU grads would be hard-pressed to get in without political connections within the system.

You know.. there needs to be more clarity in SPLOST proposals that citizens vote on.. Money asked for to repair school roofs in previous SPLOSTs is being diverted to renovating a high school baseball field...this..in a word is just ... WRONG! Whether the funds were not needed immediately or repairs came in a bit lower that projected, roofs are roofs, and they will need more repairs in the future, and that money should have either been "refunded" (via a millage adjustment) or put in escrow for future roof repairs.

The basic military decision difference between Trump and Obama is: Obama would replace generals (and admirals.. over 40 as I recall) who's opinion he didn't like, then when one agreed with him, he'd promote him until something went wrong. then pass the blame onto his general in charge and name a new general who agreed with him. Congress "works" in session about 138 days a year.. 240 Democrats at $174,000.00 annual salary means that we pay them over $302,000 for 1 days work. Talk about wasting money on non-essential "employees".. Trump 2020!

I erred in my info "pass-along" yesterday concerning the money being spent at Columbus High that has been re-allocated from money not spent... yet... from past SPLOSTs.. for then current and future roof repairs. There seems the $3.6 Million allocated at Kendrick is being used, but the Jordan expenditures will come in at a $2.82 million, leaving about $600K open, and it appears is being redirected to Columbus High.. and Columbus High's project is estimated at $1.5 Million... so, it looks like only $900,000.00 is being taken away from previous SPLOST funds for roof repairs. This still does not justify the move. The original "roof repair" SPLOST was in 2003 and bolstered in the 2015 SPLOST, but seeing how a roof has a "life" of maybe 20 years, and it's been 15/16 years since the 2003 SPLOST was passed, some of those roofs are going to need further repairs/replacements in the next 4 or 5 years. Hmmm... maybe the MCSD can repair the roofs with sod from the CHS field....

Drove by Cloverdale Rd yesterday to see if any action had been done on fixing the massive potholes that look like scars from IEDs. Nope.. I've sent pics to Council ad the 311 Center, but unless the potholes were fixed during the night hours, they are still injuring tires and suspensions as we speak.. on a positive note, at least the 311 Center acknowledged the information.. cannot say that about anyone from Council.

Memory Lane...took a trip down memory lane..the good one, too.. stopped at Dinglewood for a tribute Scramble Dog to remember Lieutenant. True, Lieutenant passed earlier this year, and his funeral will be this Saturday, but Lieutenant is not gone...he lives in the chili he perfected over more than 50 years. Last week there was an armed robbery at the CB&T (a.k.a. Synovus) on River Road...To my knowledge, it was never reported in the M/C L-E, and other than day of action, none of the TV stations seems to have followed up on it.. the only things we know are we were told he was armed (didn't see any weapon in the videos), wore a funny looking face mask, and escaped north on River Road o=in a Volvo SUV.
