You've received a 16 page, full color report on the quality of water .. and other pertinent information... this week. Wasn't it "wonderful"? Well, I can't say I've read it for any other reason other than to point out that whatever it cost for them to print and mail is added into the costs WE have to pay to get the water... Think about it.. somebody was paid to put this together this, and the US Post Office doesn't deliver it for free.. and (even though the City's Tax Database is still "down" for the past 4 weeks due to some malware situation) we know that there are better than 55,000 "current residents" who were mailed one, and at a guessed minimum cost of $1.00-$1.50 per copy, that's in the neighbor hood of $55,000..-$82.500.00 in expenses added into our water bill. Hey, Council.. the Mayor is ON THE WATER BOARD.... next year, hold him responsible for just posting the results online, and include the website address somewhere on our monthly bills so we'll know where to look it up if... IF.. we are so concerned.. Oh... how about telling the Water Bill payers exactly how much this DID cost.. and let us know..

 

Addendum: Just saw this "report" as a "banner ad" on the Columbus Ledger-on-Line website! This is a blatant waste of users money! Somebody's head needs to ROLL.

In earlier comments, I mentioned that the Covid-19 Relief checks should be screened against arrests for rioting and looting... now that another round of checks is being discussed, it would be even more important to check on arrests than ever.. While I think that if the City of Seattle would simply cut off cellphone and Wifi services, and shut down Starbucks stores in the area, the protesters would ditch their hostage community within a few hours, but have heard a couple of other strategies that would work as well.. one is to require people wanting in... or OUT... provide a passport to leave/enter the US; a second would set up a Duties Office where all food headed into the complex would have to be quarantined for two weeks before being allowed.

I'm so glad I had already mention I was going to move-on from T-mobile after 24 years of loyalty. Yesterday.. T-mobile lost it's Nationwide Network (according to a North Columbus T-mobile spokesperson, about 1:30, and we didn't get service back until 10:22 last night. The T-mobile spokesperson said that a single "switch" failure in Atlanta was the culprit.. I'm sorry, but that cannot be the whole truth.. Surely, no single Network component can control a nationwide network! Sadly, this opens up the possibilities of where an enemy can pinpoint sabotage attacks on our communication abilities at very vital times. I challenged the T-mobile spokesperson... I said even though I haven't had to use one, I keep generators and inverters at home for situations that my power goes out. Surely, T-mobile should have back-up capabilities!

I entered the polling place this year the same way I have for decades.. ID in hand. Instead of having to fill out a ballot form by hand, I only had to give the first poll official my driver's license, and he put it on a scanning device and then turned a tablet screen around to face me that gave me the 3 ballot option (Democrat/Republican/Non-Partisan). I touched the appropriate screen option, the poll official turned the tablet back around, encoded a digital ballot card, and handed that and my license back to me. I then went to the voting staging area and was directed to an open station where I inserted my encoded ballot card. The screen popped up the ballot I asked for, and I proceeded to "touch" the screen icons to express my desires. When I finished, I got a review of my choices, hit another screen icon that sent my voting info to a printer, and my choices were printed out. I then took my encoded ballot card to another poll official who took it and directed me to insert my paper ballot into a secured scanner. Process complete! The only things f=different this year than last was I didn't have to fill-out a form by hand to get my ballot, I got a printed out copy of my ballot, and I got to feed it personally into a scanner. How the hell is this confusing/flawed to anyone! Well, to anyone who's not trying to find a way to manipulate the ballot count. There are no "flaws" in the procedure.. maybe it's just a "thwarted attempt" at trying to do something fraudulent!

According to Chief Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley the victim is 24-year-old C********* W*******. Worley says W******* was pronounced dead at 5:06 p.m. His body will be sent for autopsy." -- How many is this? At least 18.. probably about 20, but possibly around 25. none of our news sources seem to care about keeping us informed..

Let's see... Amazon, IBM, and Microsoft have announced they will not sell their "facial recognition" software to police departments or other government agencies.. Hmmm.. wonder who they WILL sell it to.. China, Venezuela.. and other dictators... to keep tabs on Freedom Loving dissidents?... or will Amazon, IBM, and Amazon simply close down those departments and fire their employees?

Columbus L-E headline: "NASCAR finally bans flags of the Confederacy" -- While I'm not one that really objects to seeing the Confederate Battle Flag being banned from inappropriate display (historic Cemeteries, battlefield, and such being exceptions), we've got to wonder why only this flag is being targeted.. I find it just as inappropriate for people to fly Mexican, Russian, German, British, Spanish, Cuban, Japanese, Italian, Libyan, Moroccan and French flags on American soil as well.. all these countries have waged some kind of war on US at some time in history as well."
