The Breakfast Club June 23, 2010

There's no doubt that General McChrystal is a product of the Nero-bama administration. First, what conservative would sit down with a reporter from Rolling Stone magazine, but more revealing is that McChrystal fired his aide, the messenger, to establish the "blame". This is from Page 1 of the Nero-bama playbook.
---
Just in: Rumor has it that General McChrystal has been replaced by Generalette McWendy, formerly known as Clara Peller who was known by her proclamation of "Where's the beef!".
---
One thing for sure is that POTus Nero-bama made a tactical mistake when he committed only 30,000 troops to the 'surge' when McChrystal wanted 40,000. No matter what the outcome, McChrystal always has an out. In my world, when you want a person to get a job done, give him the tools he says he need to accomplish the mission with. You don't give a carpenter a tack hammer when he says the job calls for a framing hammer.

From the "what goes on in California should stay in California" department - The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), a California advocacy group (doh!), said Tuesday that it will sue McDonald's unless it stops using toys to promote Happy Meals within 30 days." -- Wouldn't it be more effective to sue the parents who drive-in, and buy their children Happy Meals?
---Online headline: "New Push to End "UFO Secrecy" -- Ooops, my bad! Thought it was about revealing the "Unions For Obama"
---
Little Chief DIM/DUMBorat, Denny Hoyer of Maryland says the defense budget should be the main area of cuts to fix the budget deficits. Excuse me....the Defense of this country is one of the few things the Constitutions says the Federal government is responsible for, yet 2/3rd's of the actual budget is spent on liberal entitlement programs.
---
L-E story: "Minister Louis Farrakhan, National Representative of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam, will speak Saturday in Atlanta" -- How did Farrakhan and Honorable get in one sentence?
---
L-E headline: "Muscogee County grand jury indicts man for murder in Herta Bailey case" -- Finally, a "True Bill"; now we can pray for TRUE JUSTICE!
---
L-E headline/story: "City orders Parks & Rec workers to talk to police * “I am trying to get to the truth,” Wetherington said." -- While we can hope he will be successful, can he handle "the Truth"?
---
L-E headline: "Firefighters battle to keep wildfires away from Flagstaff " -- Ominously missing was "Smokey el Oso".
---
L-E headline: "Judge blocks deep-water drilling ban" -- Without reading any further into the article, I can bet on two things with certainty: The judge is not from California, and POTus Nero-bama and his spinmeisters will do an immediate smear job on the judge. Let me know if I am wrong.
---
A L-E letter writer asks why the delays in getting Carver High School teachers' belongings/materials moved from Carver to its temporary home at Baker Middle School. She writes, "Dr. Susan Andrews might want to get out of her nice posh office and visit around to see what in the world is happening in her district’s own backyard." -- What the writer doesn't grasp is that Dr Andrews still lives in Harris County and she doesn't drive by Carver on her way home from work even though it's only a few blocks away from her MCSD Taj Mahal office.
---Dusty, Dusty, Dusty..... it's way past time to replace (or at least clean) your rose colored glasses. The MCSD can 'earn' millions of dollars over the years just by making teachers living outside of Muscogee County pay the out-of county tuition other GA and AL parents have to pay to send their children to MCSD schools, but that is not the point of this response to his 'editorial'. Dusty writes about the 'Hollywood offer' by saying "Given the Hollywood context, we can perhaps be forgiven an easy allusion: Show us the money. ". Dusty, the guy ain't suggesting he's willing to invest with his money; he wants to do it on "OUR" money!

From the 'it's not one world' department - L-E story: "Judicial officials say a Saudi court has convicted four women and 11 men for mingling at a party and sentenced them to flogging and prison terms. The men, who are between 30 and 40 years old, and three of the women, who are under the age of 30, were sentenced to an unspecified number of lashes and one or two year prison terms each. The fourth woman, a minor, was sentenced to 80 lashes and was not sent to prison. Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam that prohibits unrelated men and women from mingling." -- Wonder if this means "e-Harmony" can't operate in the mid-east?
---
What's happening at CSU? Last week I got a letter thanking me for my past support, and asking I let them know if I was going to support them again this year. Last night, I received a phone call (probably from a student reading a script) saying I had been sent that letter, and I need to let CSU know whether I was going to send a check this year. Excuse me? CSU needs nothing of the sort! I told the young woman (and am sending this to Dr Mescon, too) my family has supported CJC/CC/CSU continuously since 1949 (yes, 10 years before it became a reality), but fueled by this letter/phone call and the turmoil of this past Spring, my future support will hinge on some renewed discussion on what's going on out there.
