It’s not a good season for baseball in Georgia.. and it probably won’t be a good one next year either… the Atlanta Braves (barring an “Angels in the Outfield” miracle) not only won’t make the playoffs, probably won’t get close to a break even record this season… with 49 games left, the Braves will have to win 34 of them to get to a .500 season. You can “say” it’s a rebuilding year, but when you look at their minor league teams (Rome, GA –“A”; Columbus, GA – “AA”; and Gwinnett, GA – “AAA”), all three of them are struggling in the .410 - to- .415 range, there doesn’t look like any relief is coming…

Speaking of Columbus GA’s “Clingstones”, while they did win last night, but when Mayor Skippy the POO, local media, Pinnacle Bank,  and Clingstone management try to tell you they had another “sellout”, here’s a picture of reality!

Columbus GA L-E  headline/story: “Columbus GA chief responds to allegations of over-policing and profiling * "We write three times as many warnings as we do citations," Mathis told the council. "So, our self-initiated calls is up 20,000. So, at least two-thirds of the traffic stops that we make, people are getting warnings." * Mathis said he is an advocate for warnings. * "Our job is not to generate revenue," he said. "Our job is to change people's behavior, and a warning does that a million times more than a citation." --  Hmmm… to my way of thinking, issuing so many  warnings for traffic tickets is akin to "no cash bail", and sends a message that promotes recidivism. Also, his statement that “Our job is not to generate revenue” sorta makes the “speed trap cameras” at some of our school locations EXTREMELY hypocritical!

I just read that 64,000 pounds of butter were recalled because the FDA said the packaging did not list a known “allergen” …. Interested, I read further and found that the “allergen” is MILK! Good grief! Does ANYONE not know that you make butter FROM MILK!
