Yesterday was the first day of Columbus, GA using it's new quarter-of-a-million dollar automated recycling trucks. Obviously, some more communication between the City and it's citizens is needed.. As I drove around my neighborhood, I saw 3 homes in "compliance" with the "new rules - wheels to curb,, 3' of space on either side".. and bookooodles of cardboard boxes on the curbs.. It all got picked up, most went with the recycling, but quite a bit went with the garbage..

In Bibb County the project involves the resurfacing of 5.206 miles of Georgia 247 from north of US 41 BUS/Georgia 49 and extending south of US 41/Georgia 19. The contract was awarded to C. W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. of Marietta for $2.7 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of February 2022.

Earlier his year, a man died from complications following a late summer/early fall shooting.. He didn't die until Jan/Feb of 2021.. I don't think this death has been counted in either 2020 or 2021. So either the "count" should be upped another death in 2020 (to 47) or in 2021 (to 29) plus pending ones..

Two school aged teen girls were killed in an "accident" last week.. but we have no clue as to what caused it. The unknown driver was taken to the hospital and we still don't know his name or age...or if other people were in the car when this happened. We also don't know whether it was just an out of control "accident" or whether there were other circumstances..or cars...involved. Two teen-aged girls died last Tuesday on a school night... Our community needs to know the facts .. and the truth.

Well, while waiting for details that caused the death of two high school aged girls in a car wreck last Tuesday, we experienced another homicide Saturday.. Depending on how you count things, it's either number 28 or 31, or number 30 or 33, so we are on a track to end up between 84 and 100 homicides for 2021.. That would put in the Top 10 of the world's most Dangerous Cities, and a solid contender for the Most Dangerous in he US.. A Casino in our future could be the clincher... Being alerted, Columbus Visitors and Convention Bureau did respond to the sources and had at least one of the stories "pulled".. now there's a 3rd destructive story for Columbus.. In the May 2021 Southern Living article highlighting "special districts" in 3 GA cities.. Broad St & Downtown in Augusta, Little 5 Points in Atlanta, and Starland District in Savannah. Neither Columbus' Historic District nor the combined Historic/Uptown District got a mention.. Sometimes, complete omission is worse than just bad information...

What an image he gave to world leaders as he desperately searched for his unneeded mask.. he even declared himself "in trouble" because he couldn't find it.. I miss President Trump....America misses President Trump.
