Senator Portman... if your son came out and said he had tried cocaine, you would still love him, but would you want to legalize that, too? Your personal love does not mean it is the best thing for the country.

---

McClatchyMcClatchy headline story: "Death row inmates challenge use of death penalty drug * Daniel Wayne Cook sexually assaulted, tortured and killed two men, a jury agreed. He’s dead now, executed last August in an Arizona prison. * But Cook’s name lives on, as part of a lawsuit challenging the Food and Drug Administration’s allowing importation of a drug used in executions by injection. * “This case is not about halting executions, but about ensuring that illegal drugs are not used in carrying out otherwise legal executions,” attorney Eric A. Shumsky, who represents the death row inmates, said Friday. -- "This case is not about halting executions"? You're damned right it's not about 'otherwise legal executions"; it's about siphoning as many tax dollars as a lawyer can get out of the government! The ABA needs to neuter this particular lawyer to send a message to all others.

---

McClatchy story: "Fresno police are reporting a disturbing trend in the city's long-running war against car thieves: Imprisoned criminals are getting out quickly and teaching their skills to younger gang members." -- So we are seeing a new generation/category of "family businesses/reality show opportunities in California. Wonder how many are buying licenses, collecting & paying taxes, amd filing income taxes forms?

---

Online story: "Congressman Timothy Huelscamp revealed this week that the Department of Homeland Security has refused to answer questions from “multiple” members of Congress regarding its recent purchase of huge amounts of weapons and ammunition. * “They have no answer for that question. They refuse to answer to answer that.” Huelscamp said. * The DHS has purchased over 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition over the past year – enough to wage a 20 year plus war." -- Or to shorten/curtail a 'civil war' with a shortage of available ammo for individual American citizens. You know this is under direct order of Judas 00-bama because of the signature transparency (NOT) of the DHS.

From a fellow BCer:

There's more to this than Hillary revealed...... DOH!

---

Mayor Bloom(ring idiot)berg says 12,000 will die if gun control measures don' t pass. Hmmm, wonder if any mainstream media folks told him that 12,000 will die regardless.

---

Only quote: "“The power to tax involves the power to destroy,” Chief Justice John Marshall in McCulloch v. Maryland, 1819." Hmmm, man was Justice Marshall a visionary! His picture and this quote should be posted in every State house, and every voting booth (especially when the MCSD board asks for a SPLOST).

---

Unintended good intentions? States that have approved marijuana, medical and/or recreational use, are having problem because they have to retrain the drug sniffing dogs to ignore marijuana.

---

When he spoke at Georgetown University a few years back, Judas 00-Obama's advance team had a cross in the background covered before he spoke. Yesterday, he spoke in Israel with a banner of Arafat in the background. These are not 'hints', they're out-and-out arrogance.

---

TSA will humiliate a paraplegic Marine, but a person wearing an Air France pilot's uniform can walk through and get into an American passenger jet's cockpit. Don't you feel safer?

---

First round upsets should resonate through out the NCAA administrative offices. If you cut the NCAA field back to the old 32 number, you'd still have the top 32 teams to pare down from.

This is how redistribution works in politics:

Online story: "CHICAGO — Under orders to trim hundreds of millions of dollars from its budget, the Federal Aviation Administration on Friday released a final list of 149 air traffic control towers that it will close at small airports around the country starting early next month. * The closures will not force any of those airports to shut down, but pilots will be left to coordinate takeoffs and landings among themselves over a shared radio frequency with no help from ground controllers. Those procedures are familiar to all pilots." -- Hmmm, sounds like the FAA could have/should have done this years ago instead of wasting tax dollars. Look where it has gotten us.
---

Unedited Huff&Post headline: "Demorats And Republicans Unite Against One Aspect Of Obamacare" -- Yes! Huff&Post has been reading my blog, and has turned on the DNC!

---

Story from above headline: "WASHINGTON -- It isn't every day that more than half the Democrats in the Senate vote to repeal part of President Barack Obama's health care law. * But that's what happened Thursday night when the Senate voted 79-20 to repeal a 2.3 percent sales tax on medical devices such as catheters, pacemakers and MRI machines, which was intended to help to finance coverage for the uninsured that starts next year. * ...others pointed out that the vote was nonbinding, amounting to budget guidance." -- Bubble burst! What ya bet every one of the dissenting DUMBERats will have a video byte of them voting against HELL-thScare in the 2014 Senate re-election campaigns?

---

L-E story: "Myers thought Wells’ filing an ethics complaint was hilarious: “Can you imagine John Wells’ filing an ethics complaint against somebody else? How funny is that?” -- Well, I'll be.. Lawyer Myers finally made a comment that can be declared "non-partisan/non-personal gain" in nature.

The real issue with the MCSD board's expenditures for legal services should be at how picayunish the board is on asking for legal advice.

Part 1 for today... Part 2 will come later after the Color Me Rad run, so check back.

Part 2:
Online story: "An exhausted Senate approved its first budget in four years early Saturday, calling for almost $1 trillion in tax increases over the coming decade while sheltering safety net programs targeted by House Republicans. * Despite the fanfare -- and the spectacle of senators lingering for hours into the weekend to vote on dozens of amendments before the final tally -- the budget passed by the smallest of margins, 50-49. Four Democrats facing tough re-elections voted against it. " -- What leadership! NOT! Hope the Republicans hold the DUMBERats's votes who voted no because of the re-elections up to vivid scrutiny. Those 4 were afraid to vote their convictions, so what else are they afraid of?

---

Online headline: "Georgia Baby Dead: 13-Month-Old Antonio Shot By Young Boy In Front Of Mother, Sherry West, Police Say * A Georgia woman said Friday a teenager trying to rob her at gunpoint asked "Do you want me to kill your baby?" before he fatally shot her 13-month-old son in the head." -- Where the hell is the ACLU demanding the all the teens not only be charged as adults, but with an absolute HATE crime. No amount of prison time will 'rehab' these, so forget the trial. take straight to the death chamber!

---

Online story: "DENVER — Attorney Jack Ebel testified before the Colorado Legislature two years ago that solitary confinement in a Colorado prison was destroying the psyche of his son, Evan. * When Jack Ebel's longtime friend, Gov. John Hickenlooper, was interviewing a Missouri corrections official for the top prisons job in Colorado, he mentioned the case as an example of why the prison system needed reform. And once Tom Clements came to Colorado, he eased the use of solitary confinement and tried to make it easier for people housed there to re-enter society." -- Is it because Hickenlooper is a DUMBERat that the media didn't mention his association with white supremists before his election? Oh yeah, I do agree the prison system needs reform... dangerous people need to die in the first 3 years of incarceration, not paroled.

---

Once and for all,L-E headline: "OBAMA WARNS OF SYRIA BECOMING EXTREMIST ENCLAVE " -- "Warns"? Judas 00-bama is actually head cheerleader!

---

The DUMBERat interest in the minimum wage laws are two-fold: 1 is to make Republicans look cold-hearted, but the main reason is to booster their relationship with the unions. Raising the minimum wage will actually make fewer jobs available for teens and first time workers, but more important to DUMBERats is that the base union scale is predicated by a formula on the minimum wage.

---

L-E's "Online comment of the day: BoZoe (aptly mnamed) said: “I wish all kids were told that when they are threatened or hit at school to call the police." -- Bet the Chief of Police would welcome this since there's not enough actual crime going on to keep our police officers busy. Bet this low-info voter would voter to assign every child their own person al body guard... as long as he doesn't have to pay for it.

---

L-E story: " NEW YORK — The producers of the cable TV miniseries on the Bible say Internet chatter that their Satan character resembles President Barack Obama is “utter nonsense.” -- Absolutely... their Satan doesn't resemble Judas 00-bama, 00-bama IS Satan.

Just for follow-up. When I told Council and Historic Columbus about the faux pas of naming the North End of Lakebottom "Wildwood Park" because 3 blocks north is the original "Wildwood Park", they all did their interpretations of Uncle Remus' "Br'er Rabbit".... they just didn't say nothin'.

Online story: "Citing budget concerns and falling enrollment, Chicago Public Schools officials announced Thursday they plan to close 54 schools next year and shut down 61 school buildings -- the largest single wave of school closures in U.S. history. * For months, looming closures seemed inevitable. After a teachers union strike last fall concluded with an expensive contract, observers were left without a doubt that the only way the cash-strapped district could afford it was to shut down schools and fire the teachers who worked there." -- Between the past leadership of former Illinois Senator Judas 00-bama, past Chicago school head/current Sec of ED Arne Duncan, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, union greed, and the rampant Chicago street killing, Chicago's education system has become the sequel to "The Perfect Storm".

---

Online story 'fact' (liberal argument point): "The U.S. incarcerates its citizens at a rate roughly five times higher than the global average. We have about 5 percent of the world's population, but 25 percent of its prisoners, according to The Economist,." -- Simple solution... send prisoners back to their country of origin.

---

Online headline: "Powerful Chicago Democrat Found Guilty Of Tax Evasion" -- Ooops, hoped I'd see how Jay Carney spun Judas 00-bama's demotion from being the 'powerful Chicago Democrat'...

Online story: "Of all places one would expect to find Pope Francis celebrating a major ceremony before Easter, a youth prison probably ranks pretty low on the list. * Yet that's precisely where Pope Francis will celebrate Holy Thursday next week, washing and kissing prisoners' feet at Rome's Casal del Marmo jail for minors." -- Albeit that Pope Francis has always been recognized as a public people's person, due to so much past pedophilia concerns in the past, is it really in the best interest of him or the Catholic church to be kissing minors' feet?

---

Online headline: "Powerball Jackpot Soars To $320 Million Prior To Saturday Drawing" -- Hey, that's an idea... Let Congress buy one of each number combination! Ooops, at $2.00 a pop, they'd have to buy 175,223,510 tickets at a cost of $350,044,620.00 to win the current prize of $320Million. Oh, and don't forget the one-pay buyout deduction and what the government was already going to get in taxes. When you look at it, Powerball isn't even worth it if you won all by yourself.

Remember when Judas 00-bama was saying he was going to be campaigning in all 57 states.... and we laughed and pointed at him? Well. he may have not been in error. From Wikipedia: "The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is an international organisation consisting of 57 member states. The organisation states that it is "the collective voice of the Muslim world" and works to "safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony"

Kicker to above: (Judas 00-bama appointee) Rashad Hussain (born in 1978), is an American attorney, and U.S. Special Envoy to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the second largest intergovernmental body after the UN, with 57 member states. Hussain, a Muslim of Indian heritage, has served in the White House Counsel's Office, and in his role as Envoy, has advised the Administration on policy issues related to the Muslim world. He has traveled to numerous countries and international conferences, and has met with foreign leaders and Muslims around the world

Judas 00-bama estranged most of the DUMBERat base while in Israel. He acknowledged Christianity, Judaism, and Islam as the top religions. Now he'll have to appease the atheists, wiccans, agnostics, Queen Jamesers, et all.

---

Judas 00-bama says Israel has "no better friend".... hmmmm, didn't Judas Iscariot say that to Jesus?

---

Judas 00-bama is dead set on "getting the facts" about chemical weapons being used in Syria. Does that mean he really wants to get the facts and do something, or does that mean he wants to 'get the facts' and bury them under bureaucracy like Benghazi, Fast & Furious, and ACORN?

---

Senator Ayotte wants to end "The Missile to Nowhere" program. There's $381 Million set to be spent on a so-far- $3BILLION-already-been-spent project that the military doesn't want, and the Pentagon doesn't think will even work, but it's an " earmark" for the home states of powerful Senators/Congresspersons. Wanna bet their party allegiances?

L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Three years, two elections, and one Supreme Court decision after President Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act, its promise of health care for the uninsured may be delayed or undercut in much of the country because of entrenched opposition from many Republican state leaders. " -- Let's face it... there are 30 states with Republican/conservative leadership... if they all hold their ground, there's no way the Judas 00-bama administration can enforce HELL-thScare there. Another dividend for those 30 states would be mass migration of Medicaid recipients to the other 20 states, and migration of productive individuals and businesses into the Republican/conservative lead states. 2014 & 2016 elections are looking better already.

---

L-E headline/story: "DIVERSITY CONFERENCE * Poverty, class issues dominate speeches * "I believe very strongly that communities today are segregated by income, that we don't labor any longer under Jim Crow laws, certainly, but we have segregated ourselves by income.", Mayor Teresa Obamalinson." -- Let's address that more pointedly.. Under the War on Poverty of Lyndon Johnson and the Democratic game plan, controlled income for the poverty levels was established to keep lower income persons under control of the government, and to insure, not loyalty, but fear that if government programs were eliminated, poverty stricken persons would have no other safety net to catch them. The War on Poverty was an enslavement plan from the beginning, and has grown evefr since.

---

L-E story: " It should take about three weeks to remove the pieces of the City Mills Dam, Meadows said. When the dam was blown March 12, whitewater organizers were hoping to get a preview of the upper part of the course that runs from City Mills to the North Highland Dam in Bibb City. * “We would have hoped the pool would have dropped more than it has,” said Richard Bishop, president of Uptown Columbus Inc., the nonprofit downtown redevelopment corporation charged with building the $25 million course. " -- Well, there it goes again. The original expected cost of simply restoring the Chattahoochee River was about $2 Million, and now we're talking $25 million "they" will

admit to. Remember the National Infantry Museum? Originally it was to cost $60 Million, but has risen to over $100 M and still not finished.

---

Jarvis Jones, bless his heart, thinks his 4.92 40-yard-dash won't bother his status in the draft, but it doesn't negate the fact that if he doesn't make a tackle in front of him, he's not going to catch them from behind. L-E headline: "Four-week jobless claims fall to 5-year low " -- Don't get too excited... no consideration is given to there actually being less jobs to be terminated, but also how many full time jobs are now being cut in half so it takes 2 non-healthcare eligible workers for a lot of low/mid-level jobs?

No wonder Robert Gibbs gave up, and Jay Carney has to be thinking about abandoning Judas 00-bama. Carney is out trying to convince the public that 00-bama is not Satan (on The Bible miniseries), and now 00-bama is out trying to disassociate, through "the Sequester", himself from the Easter egg roll at the White House.

Bill Maher may have left the....uh... Left. Obviously he must have finally actually listened to Fox News instead of channel surfing by it.

California has started billing small businesses for 5 years of retroactive tax incentives (plus interest) on a court ruling that stopped an existing tax break for start up businesses. If that doesn't cause more business flight, it certainly will stop new businesses from going there. Yoohoo, California, you'll be made welcome in Columbus, GA.... well as soon as we step down on our Mayor Obamalinson's plan to end the tax freeze.

---

Detroit, home of the largest union and Muslim population groups in the US, home of the biggest black-eye ever laid on DUMBERat led city government, has attained the ultimate worst motto a city can attain, "Detroit, home of 400 liquor stores and 0 chain grocery stores".

---

Why is the science world, and media world for that matter, so oblivious to the power of God? Both groups are so excited about discoveries of life like living conditions that may have existed on Mars millions, even billions, of years ago? Is it beyond their consideration that millions of years ago the Sun was hotter and it was Mars that had a livable environment, and as the Sun cooled, Mars became frozen, and Earth became livable as the atmosphere cooled?

Online story: "A costly program replicating a $200 million project introduced by Michelle Obama in 2011 for the state of California is moving closer to being passed in the Magnolia State. * The Mississippi House approved the measure HB 798 by an overwhelming 114-4 last month to move another step closer toward its passage as the “Healthy Food Retail Act.” The proposed legislation would cost taxpayers untold millions as it works to allegedly make produce more readily available to those living in so-called “food deserts.” -- How can such drivel be passed in a non-DUMBERat state? Look at the facts... who amongst us think that a heavily obese shopper is going to choose to buy carrot chips instead of potato chips even if they were side-by-side?

---

Online story: "Transportation Security Administration inspectors forced a wounded Marine who lost both of his legs in an IED blast and who was in a wheelchair to remove his prosthetic legs at one point, and at another point to stand painfully on his legs while his wheelchair was examined, according to a complaint a congressman has registered with the TSA. * Rep. Duncan Hunter said in his letter Monday that the Marine, who is still on active duty and showed TSA agents his military identification, was still forced to undergo that scrutiny." -- Maybe the Marines should issue a dress Burqa Uniform for use during TSA inspections. That way, TSA will only check their necks.

---

Online story: "JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A federal judge has struck down a Missouri law exempting moral objectors from mandatory birth control coverage because it conflicts with an insurance requirement under President Barrack Obama's health care law. * The ruling by U.S. District Judge Audrey Fleissig cites a provision in the U.S. Constitution declaring that federal laws take precedence over contradictory state laws. -- Where do we get judges like this... oh yeah, by DUMBERat appointment. Speaking of the Constitution, has she forgotten, or maybe just ignored, the 9th & 10th Amendments?

Standing "O" for Senator Paul Rand for bringing perspective to the immigration problem. Like the abortion issue, Republicans spend too much time and energy trying tp 'stuff toothpaste back into the tube".

Online headline/story: "Elizabeth Colbert Busch Wins Democratic Primary In South Carolina 1st District * Her famous brother, host of the late night TV political comedy show, The Colbert Report, actively campaigned on her behalf. * Former Governor Mark Sanford was comfortably leading the field of 16 Republican candidates, according to preliminary election results posted on the official website of the State Election Commission, but could face a run-off April 2 if he fails to win more than 50 percent of the ballots" -- South Carolina could be faced with an election between Colbert=Busch & Mark Sanford to replace Tim Scott. No way either can do that, so why doesn't Governor Haley just 'forfeit' that District for the "good of the country"?

---

Online headline: "President Barack Obama makes his Final Four picks " -- Oooops, my bad. Don't know why I thought he might be working on budget and tax cuts to help the economy.

Story from above headline: "In 2012, President Obama's men's bracket ranked 2,347,421 out of 6.45 million entries in ESPN's bracket contest, placing him in the 63.6th percentile." -- Wonder why he didn't have a court seal this record? Now we have to wonder whether the reason Judas 00-bama sealed his high school/college records was because the results were worse...

---

As long as we are being teased with a "Name That Bridge" dilemma, why not name it for a historical Columbus man who actually held the position of "Bridgekeeper" in the 1830s-40s? Richard Gray who's American ancestry dates back to Jamestown in 1616, not only lived in Columbus prior to it being chartered in 1828, was official "Bridgekeeper" for many years and also one of 12 'founders' of First Baptist Church of Columbus.

---

Is it just me, or do the claims of less violent crime in Columbus seem contradictory to stats furnished by Mayor Obamalinson and the GBI? Nearly everyday we see gun crimes reports in the L-E. Wish some of the 20,000+ gun laws on the books were strictly enforced.

L-E story: "NEW YORK — A bankruptcy judge has approved the sale of Twinkies to a pair of investment firms, one of which has said it hopes to have the cakes back on shelves by summer. * Hostess Brands Inc. is selling Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Ho Hos and other brands, to Apollo Global Management and Metropoulos & Co. for $410 million." -- Not that I buy them, but acknowledging the Americana aspect of "Twinkies", I do hope they are not made in and imported from China.

Here we go again! A teenage girl microwaved a cup of noodle soup and placed it on the table in front of her 3 year old brother. Someone (not sure whether by boy, sister, or mother) tipped it into the 3 year old's lap and the mother is suing the soup company. I have utmost sympathy for the boy,his sister, and mother, but I hope the soup company counter sues for bad parenting. The very thought of putting a scalding food into the area of a 3 year old is disgusting!

Online story: "President Obama was offered a feast of Maine treats, including University of Maine lobster salad and Wild Blueberry Pie when he visited Senate Republicans for a Capitol Hill luncheon on Thursday (March 14). But he didn’t touch a bite, Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) told reporters following the 1:30 PM eat n’ greet. That’s because the President didn’t have a food “taster” with him, said Collins, who was responsible for the menu." -- Guess he thought Biden turned down a similar invite. You know, when a person invites you to "break bread" with him/her, it's a special opportunity to get to know them. Refusing so is a real slap in the face.

---

From the "wow, crack reporting..NOT!" department - Online story: "ORLANDO, Fla. — A (21 year old) college student with two guns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a backpack filled with explosives pulled a dorm fire alarm Monday in an apparent attempt to force other students out into the open so that he could slaughter them, authorities said. But he instead put a bullet in his head as police closed in. * According to Florida records, his only adult arrest in the state was in 2006 for driving with a suspended license." -- "21 year old" - "only adult arrest in state was in 2006 for driving with a suspended license"? 2006 was 6 or 7 birthdays ago making his get arrested at age v14 or 15 when he wasn't old enough to have a license to drive.

---

Mainstream media is going berserk over The Bible's actor portraying Satan and his resemblance to Judas 00-bama. What's it they say.... art imitates life?

Scene (seen) in downtown:

Now here's something Mayor Obamalinson should be writing a $1.00 per hour parking ticket for.

Online story: "A Florida website became the first known target of an election-focused cyberattack last year, when more than 2,500 "phantom requests" for absentee ballots were made from international locations, NBC News reported Monday. * The Miami Herald first reported in February about the irregularities on the election website, which took submissions for absentee ballots. The Herald found that 2,552 requests were filed to a Miami-Dade County elections website over a two-and-a-half week period in July, primarily targeting Democratic voters ahead of upcoming primary elections. They came on behalf of voters who had not actually applied for absentee ballots and were tracked to a few Internet Protocol addresses registered in India, the United Kingdom and other foreign countries." -- As Robin would probably say, "Holy donkey poop, Batman!" Looks like the Judas 00-bama has outsourced election fraud to India... no wonder the job market in the USA is so weak.

---

Online headline/story: "MSNBC Almost Entirely Dominated By Opinion: Pew Study * MSNBC, where opinion fills a full 85% of the channel’s airtime." -- The irony of this is that the PEW opinion is that MSNBC stinks.

---

Online story: "Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) made a case for increasing the minimum wage last week during a Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions hearing, in which she cited a study that suggested the federal minimum wage would have stood at nearly $22 an hour today if it had kept up with increased rates in worker productivity." -- A Senator who's been sitting on the job 2 months is now an expert on minimum wage? I'm willingly to bet she gets her productively figures based what people now on unemployment claim to be making and won't get off unemployment until a paycheck exceeds their unemployment benefits package.

---

Interesting fact about Senator Warren: She uses the last name of her first husband although she's been married to her second husband for 33 years. -- You know, I could understand a woman retaking her maiden name or keeping her married name following a divorce. I could even understand a woman who went to using her maiden name hyphened with a new husband's name, but what is she 'thinking' by subjecting a new husband to by keeping the name of someone she divorced?

---

Another fact about Senator Warren: For a year, she taught children with disabilities in a public school, based on an "emergency certificate", as she had not taken the education courses required for a regular teaching certificate" -- Hmmm, I guess once she's made her point for the $22.00 minimum wage, she'll be championing education with her 1 year of actual non-renewed experience.

---

Fox News seemed blown away that some researcher is out taking credit for discovering that Gustave-Whitehead made the first powered airplane flight two years before the Wright Brothers. I have in my hand a book, "Contrary to Popular Belief", published in 2005 (8 years ago) that one Samuel Pierpoint Langley built and flew an unmanned plane in 1896, 7 years before the Wright Brothers and 5 years before Gustave-Whitehead.

---

When challenged on her views of the 2nd Amendment rights, Sen. Diane Feinstein retorted, "I respect your views, respect mine." Unfortunately, Sen. Feinstein, no one asked of your interpretation of the 2nd Amendment, he wanted to know if you respected the 2nd Amendment as written by our Founding Fathers. You finally answered you didn't. Shame on you.

---

Successful CEO's become that way because they surround themselves with people who understand the corporate goals, and work hard to help attain those results efficiently and cost consciously. Judas 00-bama surrounds himself with people who will only do as they are told.

---

Why doesn't Congress separate what we and our employers pay into Social Security and only use that as what is described as "Social Security"? The other programs should be put under separate accounts and names so politicians couldn't threaten Seniors with SS check delays.

---

Hmmm, here's a question to ask Harry Reid, especially for the mainstream media. Senator Reid, you got new taxes passed with ObamaCare, partial repeal of the Bush Tax cuts, and repeal of the Social Security deductions, so why did you present a budget with more tax increases?

---

Don't you hate it when DUMERats point at budget surpluses under Clinton (because of Republican control of House and Senate), yet the DUMERat Senatr won't even propose any kind of balanced budget with Judas 00-bama?

---

Spring arrives Wednesday. Not sure if that's a good thing or not for the Veterans Parkway street scenes project. Last year, the growing season ended with 25 dead/dying trees that looked alike all winter. With Spring here, the live ones will green up, while the other 25 will just be there.

---

L-E story: "Corporal punishment will be banned in the Muscogee County School District if the school board approves the policy change Interim Superintendent John Phil-lips officially recommended during Monday night’s meeting. * The board will vote on the recommendation at next month’s meeting, April 22. " -- What we need here is a little, no, a lot of paddling for the Board! Lack of discipline options is a major problem already for schools, and now the MCSD board wants to tighten the 'handcuffs' on the schools' administrators some more? No wonder the board caved on the dr. Crumbs issue... Ron White is right, 'you can't fix stupid'!

A previous low-info voter's L-E "soundoff": " There’s so many things that we don’t know that if we did know could change the outcome of things. One little thing is the president’s dog handler gets $102,000 a year. That could have changed my vote." -- Wonder if that the writer had known that the said dog was flown by separate jet on family vacations and if it would have made more of a difference? Unfortunately, it probably wouldn't have.

L-E story: "NICOSIA, Cypru — A plan to seize up to 10 percent of people’s savings in the small Mediterranean island nation of Cyprus sent shockwaves across Europe on Monday as households realized the money they have in the bank may not be safe. " -- What was that noise? I swear I heard Judas 00-bama's ears perk up.

---

L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton announced her support for gay marriage Monday, putting her in line with other potential Democratic presidential candidates" -- As Gomer Pyle was apt to say, "Surprise, surprise, surprise"..... NOT! Trouble is, neither Clinton cared to define their own marriage in the traditional manner.

---

The only 'freeze' that need to be associated with Mayor Obamalinson is to freeze her out of office.

---

One really good thing could come out of the sequester that I haven't heard anyone mention yet. Death row prisoners could be 'fast tracked' to complete their sentences rather than tax dollars being wasted on 20 years of incarceration costs and legal fees.

L-E headline: "Tide focused on succeeding in NIT" -- What's the purpose of the NIT anymore... to see which team is the best of those not in the NCAA top 64?

---

Looking at the 1st and 2nd and 3rd team All-Americans listed, it looks like making the top 5 in the ACC was even harder.

With heavy heart we learn of the passing of Lt. General (RET) William B. Caldwell, III. Gen. Caldwell was a blend of honor, patriotism and servant leadership we shall continue to strive to attain.

Online story (wish I could say it's from the "only in California"department): " ..Friday's bee at Sierra's (Shoemakers) California school district almost put the youngster out of the running this year, all due to a judging gaffe. * when Sierra spelled "braille," she knew she had it right. The judges, however, claimed the word only had one "l" in it because that incorrect spelling appeared on their answer sheet at the Selma School District spelling bee. * Sierra said even the audience caught the error, but she knew better than to make a stink about it in competition, even if it meant elimination. * "I didn't want to say anything, because... if the word master tells you [that] you got a word wrong, you don't really argue with him," * Fortunately, the school community got behind her. ABC News reports that an initial appeal on Sierra's behalf was rejected by the county, but her school "appealed the appeal" and won." -- When you look a "braile" on paper, it doesn't look right, but school officials were determined to go by what was written down as correct, even when first appealed. What a condemnation of how detached the education system has become from what's best for students.

Our pastor's sermon yesterday was a look at the Gospel of John, chapter 12. Mary had acquired a jar of very expensive perfume, and chose to use it to wash Jesus' feet with. Judas Iscariot, yes, the one that betrayed Jesus days later, objected to her using it in such a manner when it could have been used to help the poor. Does this not describe the attitude of our current President? Does Judas 00-bama not think he knows better how to spend our money for what he deems a better use? Today, potUS 00-bama becomes Judas 00-bama.

Those "green" electric cars may not be so green as the liberals want them to be. It seems the construction process of an electric vehicle produces twice the carbon output of a traditional car, and due to the short range of the batteries, buyers are unlikely to ever make a positive impact on carbon output during the lifetime of such vehicles. And don't even talk about replacement batteries for ones that die or go bad. Does Boeing's battery research and implementation ring a bell?

The Congressional Barber Shop costs taxpayers over $300,000.00 in supplements. Seems like trimming anything in Washington on a balanced basis is not an option.

---

The broke US Postal Service is sending 400 employees to a $2,200,000.00 conference. That's $5,500 per attendee. Of course, based on past performance of the Post Office, none of them will get there on time.

---

Senator Graham has revealed that survivors of the 9-11-12 Benghazi terrorist attack have been ordered not to comment about what actually went on. He says he's going to write a letter to demand those survivors to be allowed to be questioned by the Congressional Committee. I just wish this was being orchestrated by a Senator who actually matters.

Those 00-bama phones.... now we are finding out they are being sent to dead people. Guess they need'em to order absentee ballots.

---

You know, I'm beginning to like sequester more and more. Since it began, every federal employee I've met seems to be working harder to pleas me/us. It's as though they are concerned I might report any bad behavior which might lead them to being downsized. That's a nice feeling, and good for the country.

Knowing the Hurricane Sandy victims haven't been made whole yet is a disgrace for FEMA and Judas 00-bama to begin with, but on another subject, has GA POWER been reimbursed for the expenses incurred in helping out or are we going to have to pay for it with a rate increase?

L-E, ooops, L-I (Inquirer) story: "We have learned a lesson this week at Inquirer Central. That being, if you’ve purchased property that has a storm-water pipe running beneath it, you are responsible not only for its repair, but for any damages it causes, should something go wrong. Unless. * Now, if the city installed the drain or has accepted some degree of responsibility by performing maintenance or repair on it, it’s the city’s problem. * Assuming that since the drain is on the street, which the city owns, and that it is performing the public service of draining said street, Weathers thought the city should handle the problem. So he called them. * The city sent out engineers to investigate and to check city construction and maintenance records. Turns out, the city did not install the drain, nor has it ever maintained it, so it’s Weathers’ problem, he was told. * “Our records also indicate that Columbus has never undertaken any repairs to the pipe on this property,” she wrote. “Therefore, Columbus is not responsible for the pipe’s current condition. Columbus will not use public funds to make any repairs to the pipe and Columbus will not be liable for any future damages caused by the functioning of the pipe.” -- Hmmm, the City took the opposite side of this when it checked out a 'believed to be' cemetery site down in the Liberty District. After paying a search team to use underground "x-ray" equipment, the team reported it had found absolutely nothing that indicated any graves had every been dug there, but the City went on with itspre-determined course of action to highlight that area as a pre-Civil War grave site. What's the difference in these two situations that the City didn't do ever any work or maintenance on?

Thunder in the Valley... 1000's came and enjoyed even without federal government participation in the show. Boy.. that sequester sure ruined everything.... NOT!

L-E headline: "Obama plans listening tour of Israel" -- Wow, Judas 00-bama plans to visit Israel to listen... the meeting will be over in 5 minutes.

---

L-E headline: "Barbra Streisand to perform in Israel " -- Well, I guess that explains Judas 00-bama's "listening tour" in Israel.

---

L-E story: "A body was taken out of the Chattahoochee River Sunday, said Chattahoochee County Coroner Travis Hancock. * Hancock said he has no information on the body. * He also said the case is being investigated by the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division at Fort Benning. " -- Hmmm, wonder if the Columbus Police Department will seek dual investigative rights to see if it can ticket the body with the newly enacted 'failure to wear a PFD (personal flotation device)" in the river?

---

There's a picture on the front page of the L-E sports section featuring players from a Mizzu-Texas A&M basketball game.... be honest now, who thought of SEC?

Who'da thunk Kentucky would not make it into the NCAA 64 team bracket?

Online headline: "Judge To Announce Verdict Sunday In Ohio Rape Case" -- Oh, great... Mixing Government with a Sunday. In legalese, the judge is giving the defendants an automatic appeal technicality.

Online story: "A Marine Corps veteran with a concealed carry permit stopped a suspect in a brutal beating in West Allis, Wis., * Charlie Blackmore, Jr. told Wisconsin Fox affiliate WITI that he saw a man kicking a woman in the head and belly at the side of the road as he was driving to work early the morning of March 12. He pulled his car over and told the suspect to stop, but the man came towards him. * According to WITI, audio of Blackmore's 911 call reveals the suspect tried to walk away when confronted. * There’s a (.) male that just beat up a female in the street. He’s walking away from me. I told him to stop,” Blackmore said on the call. "If you come at me, I will shoot you,” he told the suspect. * Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr., a proponent of the state's new concealed carry law, who has urged residents to arm themselves and take firearms classes, praised Blackmore in a statement Wednesday." -- Hmmm, maybe we should let our public safety officers take over the aspect of cleaning up the 20,000+ laws on the books and recommend sentences when criminals use guns.

Wouldn't it be nice if potUS 00-bama spent as much time & effort working on our economy & budget as he does on his NCAA brackets & golf?

Online story: "A new genus and species of extinct saber-toothed cat has been found in , Polk County, Fla., scientists say. * "The new species shows that the most famous saber-toothed cat, Smilodon, had a New World origin, and it and its ancestors lived in the southeastern U.S. for at least 5 million years before their extinction about 11,000 years ago" -- Rumor has it Algore is making a sequel to "Inconvenient Fluff" to offer this as proof of global warming, and potUS 00-bama's spinmeister team is out blaming Boehner.

---

Online headline: "Top penny stock for 2013 revealed" -- Ooops, my bad.. just knew it would be any choice of the DOW stocks after 00-bamaCare kicks in fully.

I have my own theory why there appear to have been new jobs created in the last three months.... employers are reducing 40 hour employees to 20 hours and hiring a new person for the other 20 hours of the previous job.

---

Online story: "The NBC article falsely reported that NRA will not oppose legislation being negotiated in the U.S. Senate that would mandate background checks for all gun purchasers. * This statement is completely untrue. NRA opposes criminalizing private firearms transfers between law-abiding individuals, and therefore opposes an expansion of the background check system." -- There's an inherent wrong in lying, but even moreso when the intent is purposely orchestrated by mainstream media... that's how it works in dictatorial environments. NBC should be stripped of it's 1st Amendment rights!

---

The L-E had a marvelous, MARVELOUS front page and follow-up stories honoring the lives & deaths of local area soldiers. Just think, compared to the number of street deaths in Columbus over the same period, owning a properly distributed gun made it safer to be in a war zone than on the streets of Columbus.

---

How many voters were denied the opportunity to vote in Columbus this past November? How many voters were allowed to vote more than once because of not following voter registration and regulation laws? Those are the questions to be answered before extending the discriminatory 1965 Voters' Rights Act.

---

Karl Douglass's infatuation with trains is warped! There's not a single railway transportation system that is solvent, much less profitable. Every form of government transportation is taxpayer supplemented. Therefore, none are successful. Once again,. the L-E presents the opinion of political employee without identifying him as such when he promotes Democratic Party propaganda. Shame on the L-E!

---

I do hope those full page, color ads for United Way have been "comped" by the L-E as the L-E publisher, Rodney Mahone, was this past year's Campaign Chair, but even so would not those in need be better off if the cost of just producing those ads (let alone the retail value) were donated to United Way than spent on self-pats-on-the-back?

---

Obviously the L-E doesn't want to embarrass the Mayor/Council/Parks&Rec Department any more than they seem to do for themselves, but the L-E sat on an earlier letter I sent questioning why Columbus taxpayers are supplementing the use of Golden Park by the Chattahoochee Valley Community College baseball program. CVCC, of course, is in Alabama, and is allowed to use Golden Park as its "home field" for $500.00 per game date. There's no way $500.00 per game date covers the costs of preparing and maintaining OUR facility for another state's institution to be using. I'm OK when Golden Park is used for Columbus based events, but we should be outraged at CVCC using it on a below cost basis.

Online quote: By Thomas Edison - Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” - Bet this quote doesn't sit on the desk at a single government job search desk.
