Back in November, I went to Macon for a wedding.. I made two points.. one was how desolate downtown Macon s-Streets were because of the Parking meters discouragement of shoppers and diners.. the other was how much more vibrant the main artery into the downtown area was compared to our eyesight trail on Veterans Parkway.. Well, it looks like there;s a reason for it.. We learned yesterday that another Columbusite, the 4th of the weekend is dead from Saturday. And it's another 13 year old dead..this time via a possible "game" of Russian Roulette. That's 7 deaths now for less than 3 weeks, and 2 of them 13 years old. We can do better than this, Columbus....we HAVE to do better!

Times.. they have a changed... here's a local church bulletin item showing that Jordan Vocational High School had a graduating class of 509 in 1961. I know my CHS Class of 65 had well over 500 as well. As a rule, high school Senior Classes are generally the smallest of the 4 class years .. Now, most of our public high schools have but 200-300 in a graduating senior class. The MCSD does not have but 3 high schools with over 1,000 students overall.

So far, that means some $30,000.00 would have to be collected from the community to raise the money to pay the ring and T-shirt vendors. Wouldn't a wall plaque with team picture be a lot more appropriate and a nice one can be had for about $20.00 each. Tell you what.. if the "powers that be" choose the picture/plaque option, I will donate $1,000.00 towards the picture/plaque option.

While the square foot costs are a bargain compared to what the MCSB recently agreed to pay for a girls locker room for the Northside girls softball team (1,008 square feet for $448,414.00 equals $445.00 PER square Foot) (Oh, BTW, I haven't seen any evidence that the boys baseball locker room is valued at the same amount ) the cost per square foot of this public housing project is nearly twice the value of my homes tax value per square foot, and considerably more than what my insurance company feels the guaranteed replacement value per square foot should my home need a complete rebuild. Hey, Housing Authority.. Council.. and you, too, MCSB/MCSD.. that's OUR (and your) tax money you are spending.. demand accountability!

In fact, I can remember feeling that another team's coach had "picked up on our signals" our team used. We used it to our advantage.. with players on 1st and 2nd bases, we gave a signal to our batter to "bunt".. and at the same time we gave our runners a new "steal sign". As the pitcher wound up, the other teams 3rd baseman was already heading in to field a bunt, and as soon as the baseball got to the plate, our base-runners pulled off a double-steal. The batter "took the pitch" and the flustered catcher threw the ball to 3rd base, but there wasn't anyone covering the base for his team, and it went to the left field fence.. our runners scored the tying and winning runs. Yes.. this is how baseball is played.

Yesterday, I mentioned that Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam has received at least $364,500 in contracts and awards from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Justice between fiscal 2008 and fiscal 2019 to teach religious study programs for federal prison inmates. A BCer reminded me of Ron Reagan's political ad run in the October Democratic Debacle for his Freedom From Religion Foundation which said he was "alarmed by the intrusions of religion into our secular government. That’s why I’m asking you to support the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the nation’s largest and most effective association of atheists and agnostics working to keep state and church separate". Why isn't the Freedom From Religion Foundation campaigning against the Nation of Islam's contract with the US Prison/DOJ started during the Obama/Biden administration?

Have you driven west on Bradley Park Drive and seen the traffic direction signage at the Roundabout? at the lane separation, one lane is marked for "right turn" (only), but the main lane is marked for left turn and thru traffic... mind you, there is no left turn from Bradley Park to head south on River Road. There's been a lame attempt to mark the proper route south around the Roundabout, but it is lame under normal conditions, and will be lamer at night or during rainy moments. Excuse me.. why all the interest by Democrats to stop the removal of "inactive" voters from the Voter registration list in GA? I'd say most voters interested.. or concerned.. vote whenever possible..Incidentally, GA had record numbers of voters in the last election, and still the names being stricken from the "list" were "inactive". Keeping those names who don't vote on the list just creates fraud opportunities.

I'm still baffled at why Stacey Abrams is a Democrat (other than none of her ideals fit in the category of "Good for America").. she such a fanatic on voter registration and history of fraud yet she forgets that it was not until the 60's when Republicans had enough candidates that it could even hold primaries.. or started winning many elections in GA.. In fact, down on 2nd Avenue here in Columbus, GA is a marker showing where local barber and minister Primus King attempted to vote in the 1944 Democratic primary election. Primus King was denied his right to vote, and forcibly removed from the building. King’s long legal battle to win his right to vote changed local and state voting laws and credited here as the first act in Georgia’s Civil Rights Movement.

Major example.. and it goes on all the time:
Mega-Donor "A" sends the maximum to Candidate "1".. then Mega-Donor "A" goes to Candidate 2 (who doesn't have a real challenger) and asks them to take another "maximum donation" and donate it to Candidate "1" this year , and then next year, Mega-Donor "A" will send another Donation to Candidate 2. Meanwhile Mega-Donor "A" has doubled the maximum amount to Candidate "1" for this re-election year.

While Tom Steyer has been a real disappointment for me as a candidate for the Democrat nomination, obviously Steyer has begun to click with the Democrat voters..his poll numbers have surged in South Carolina..my guess is because he's mentioned he's for term limits, and Democrat voters are seeing this as the only way to rid their party of PeLOUSY, Schiff, Schumer, Nadler, Waters, and Lee.
