Online headline: "Democratic Rep. says Trump is 'militarizing the White House' with Kelly appointment" -- It's worse than we thought.. about how Obama transformed America.. Democrats no longer look at the President as the Commander-in -Chief of our military, and the Presidents number one constitutional charge is to defend our citizens from all enemies.. foreign and domestic...and it appears that Democrats are a worse domestic enemy than ISIS is a foreign enemy.

---
Online "headLIE": "President Trump breaks 150-year tradition of pets in the White House" -- Hmmm.. I'd say Trump has put a bunch of mainscream media on leashes.. and that more than qualifies...(diminishing the value of dogs and cats is not intended)

---
Going back down the :Thaw the Freeze" campaign.... remember the shameful attack on the Freeze by a outspoken local attorney.. kept saying his 1959 built house was wrongfully taxed and he was only paying $550 in property tax even though it was worth well over $300,000 now?  Ooops, the new FMV he would have to appeal on (except for his still-in-existence FREEZE) is only $278,000. And that's with asbestos shingles no buyer wants. Hey, "Uncle Miltie", you can forego your homestead exemption if you wish..

---
It struck me at supper Saturday night as my bride and I were enjoying "baby back ribs".. Vegetarians are hypocrites...plants were living things, too.

---
There's an online effort suggesting Trump issue an Executive Order removing the healthcare package enjoyed by our Congressional Representatives immediately, and requiring them to sign-up for the OObamaCRAP Exchange programs offered in their respective states. This would be brilliant of Trump,

---
Has any had the opportunity to check how the new tax assessments came out in the areas of Mayor Tom-LYING-son's T.A.D.s? I'll look them up and compare them to 2016 figures if someone can provide me with addresses or blocks to look up.

---
The projects announced by Together 2017..specifically the benches and 'Little Libraries', does anyone know if there is a map that shows the locations of these, or if there are any follow-up reports spelling out the successes (or vandalism) of them?

---
You know, the title of Hellary's new book, "What Happened" , should be the title of the Congressional Investigation of Hellary

---
Stopped and got 25 bales of pine straw from a street "vendor" on Saturday AM. Couldn't help but notice he was a little anxious about my Trump sticker on my pickup's back window as he loaded them in. Also noticed his GA-Muscogee County tag and wondered why he should be anxious at all since I'm sure our tag office verified his insurance status knowing citizenship is necessary for owning/insuring vehicle.

Quick Geography Test: Name all countries in continental South America with all or some land West of Columbus, GA...times up! Nary a one...

From the "how can his happen in America" department - Online headline/story: "ICE not alerted when sex assault suspect released from jail in 2016, official says * PORTLAND, Ore. -- A man accused of breaking into a 65-year-old woman's home, sexually assaulting her and stealing her car was arrested after allegedly assaulting another woman and running from police. *  According to court documents filed in March 2017, Martinez has a history of illegal entry into the United States. He has been a transient in the Portland area for more than a year and has been deported 20 times. *  Martinez has at least five probation violations for re-entering the United States. His most recent removal was in November 2016, according to the March court documents. *  The Department of Homeland Security said a detainer was requested for Martinez in December 2016, but he was released into the community and authorities did not notify ICE. * Earlier this year, Multnomah County leaders and Sheriff Mike Reese wrote a letter to the community saying, "The Sheriff's Office does not hold people in county jails on ICE detainers or conduct any immigration enforcement actions." -- Why isn't the ACLU lining up to sue Multnomah County officials AND Sheriff Reese off the map! The woman was denied her civil rights in every conceivable way a government can fail a citizen.

---
With a reminder from a fellow BCer - You know, Trump should ask the CBOE to run the figures it originally projected for OObamaCRAP against new factual ones, and re-project the figures of how it will be in 10 years from now.

---
L-E headline/story: "MONTRAVIOUS THOMAS CASE * MCSD responds to allegations made by board members * Asked why the MCSD administration waited until a month after Montravious was injured to inform the board about the incident, Ellington said, “The full board was apprised that a student injury had occurred at AIM about two and half weeks after the incident. During those same days following the incident, the District complied with the mandatory reporter requirements, cooperated with outside investigations and was conducting its own investigation.” -- There are a whole lot of issues discussed (very carefully.. too carefully) in this much longer that usual L-E recount, but the number one is that taxpayers were denied knowledge when the Superintendent and Legal Advisors decided  NOT to inform the MCSB immediately of the occurrence.. This intentional concealment  should absolve the taxpayers of any financial burden the courts/mediation concludes, and all responsibility should be shouldered by the Superintendent, legal team, and any MCSD administration personnel who helped the prior tow entities delay knowledge to the Board and citizens of Columbus,.

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "You can always recognize Hillary hater contributors who get their news from the goofy online sources and talk radio. They should check a variety of sources before they send in anything." -- Huh? It's more like Hellary supporters get all their talking points from CNN/MSNBC... after it's been rewritten by the DNC... I think.. therefore.. I AM..; libs "feel".. unfortunately, they "feel" the truth and our Constitution are different for them.

---
L-E headline/story: "MOTOR VEHICLES * State could eliminate license plate decals
Georgia could save almost $2 million annually by not having to print the decals, according to a Revenue Department memo last year." -- Politicians cannot see past their noses.. how is this going to save $2,000,000.00? As it is, the "decal" on tags alerts a police officer visually. Without "decals", officers will have to call in every tag on every stop to see if the license is up-to-date.. That will involve many more millions of dollars in People-time, and computer time as well extending the time the particular officer is away from other duties.

---
L-E commentary headline: "COMMENTARY * Police serious about distracted driving * BY CHUCK WILLIAMS" -- How can anyone be serious about "distracted Driving" until Council makes those electronic billboards illegal?

Defining moment of a president:

In a way, the difference between Presidential and  RESIDENTIAL!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frank Myers posted a story on the parking project at Columbus High..it showed it stalled as a muddy swimming hole with school ready to start. The project has a projected cost of over $900,000.00 for 60 +/- parking spaces (@ $15,000 each), but my experience tells me that when a project is stalled, there're more problems popping up and the costs are surging even higher. Perhaps the MCSD can..should let us taxpayers know.

---
While we're talking about projects on books having a way to escalate when the finish date seems likely not to be met, it's even more certain project costs are soaring when the start date is being delayed.. What about our River Road/Bradley Park Drive roundabout..when it was first proposed, it was going to be a $1.2 MILLION dollar project, but after bringing more issues up, it was determined it was going to take $2.7 MILLION ($1.5 by the state, $1.2 from City coffers) but that was last year, and more issues have popped up. This was a project Mayor Tom-LYYING-son promised would start in June/July 2014 following her re-election. How about it, Mayor...GA DOT... how about updating us on the latest start date and cost projections.

A retired  Superior Court judge stopped me yesterday, and asked if I could aim my community/political activism to get the judge who's sitting on the decision about Carlton Gary's appeal to make a decision so the process can continue. He pointed out that the Judge has been sitting on his decision for 7 and 1/2 years..on a case that has been active for over 30 years on crimes committed 40 years ago. These were facts I knew, but then he threw a new fact I hadn't even thought about. There is only 1 surviving child living of the victims! That man deserves to see justice done as he now represents all the children of the victims. No one argues that the rights of the convicted should be protected, but the victims, their families, their friends and the community are entitled to the rights of a speedy judicial process.

---
L-E headline: "TAX ASSESSMENTS * Here’s background on dramatic tax increases" -- Guess you can say this is another of Mayor Tom-LYING-son's "roundabouts".. She's "roundabout" enraged everyone  who owns rental property or if their frozen homes have more than 2 acres.

---

L-E headline: "Chattahoochee Paddle Company holds ribbon cutting in Phenix City" -- Hey, Columbus taxpayers.. we won't see a penny in tax revenue/ROI on the "investment" Mayor Tom-LYING-son made with OUR tax dollars!

Saturday, July 29, 2017

Jim Delaney.. Democratic Congressman from Maryland just announced his candidacy for the 2020 Democratic Party Presidential nominee.  You're probably hearing it first here.. oh, and it may be the only place/time you do.

Charlie Gard has died... but he's died a hero to the world... Charlie Gard showed us what government controlled HELLthcare is all about.

---
From the "want to see libs and mainscream media have a meltdown" department - Online headline/story: "Trump to cops: 'Please don't be too nice' while arresting 'thugs,' and don't worry about their heads when you toss them in the 'paddy wagon' *  Trump took a moment during the speech, which was focused on the administration's efforts to destroy the street gang MS-13, to let the law enforcement officers know he is okay with them being rougher while apprehending violent suspect" -- Yeah!

---
Seriously..why would anyone really want their employer to pay more in taxes than they do now? It the employers are taxed more, it means they have less money to pay their employees.

---
After thoughtful deliberation, I think I'm able to pretty much answer Hellary's question of "What Happened " ... She was right in feeling America could accept a woman as its President, only America didn't think she was the right woman. She could have helped herself more if she didn't campaign like it was her coronation.

---
From a fellow BCer: On Friday, the Trump administration released their annual report to Congress on White House Office Personnel. It includes the name, status, salary and position title of all 377 White House employees. * The report also said that Trump decided not to take a dime of his salary, instead he donated it to an amazing cause! * The report also showed that President Trump is far better at saving money than Obama was. The total annual White House salaries under trump are $35.8 million vs. $40.9 under Obama, a savings of $5.1 million. 8 There are 110 fewer employees on White House staff under Trump than under Obama at this point in their respective presidencies. Nineteen fewer staffers are dedicated to The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS).  Currently, there are five staffers dedicated to Melania Trump vs. 24 staffers who served Michelle Obama (FY2009).

We went on a venture with our granddaughter yesterday...to Wild Animal Safari near Callaway. I think I quite well seeing the menu..A large van for $25.00 ( would have paid teice that if for a hours use..$25.00 for my bride and $22 for each myself and "little bit"..oh, and 13.50 for nearly enough food pellets. Lots of pics and 5 year-old's glee as we drove through the herds of welfare animals, and I enjoyed the $114..86 I spent. And I didn't even mind the $26.00 we spent on 2 souvenir animal toys...but I knew the bubble had to burst...and it did....she wanted a single scoop kid's cone of rainbow sherbert..$2.49! There oughta be a law!

---
L-E story: "Georgia Rep. Richard Smith said he spoke to the state’s Revenue Commissioner recently and learned that the Muscogee County Board of Tax Assessors has the authority to roll back property tax assessments to 2016 levels. * “What she told me was that the Board of Tax Assessors can do that if they want to, but if somebody challenges it in court, they have to be able to justify why they did it,” Smith said Friday in an interview with the Ledger-Enquirer. “Then it becomes a court case.” * The issue of rolling back assessments surfaced at a July 25 Columbus Council meeting. Councilor Walker Garrett said he wanted to explore the possibility as a way to help taxpayers....But City Attorney Clifton Fay told councilors they had no authority regarding the matter." -- Hmmm.. who ya gonna believe..Your connected State Representative..or the left hand of Mayor Tom-LYING-son...

---
I do not know why McCain stayed and cast his vote against the "skinny repeal". He could have simply left the Chamber/Capitol Building before the vote claiming a "medical emergency" and the bill would have gotten the same result without him standing up and soiling himself.
---

L-E headline: "North Korea tests ICBM that can hit West Coast" -- Hmmm.. well, if Kim Jong Oooops makes one that can travel further, then we should stop him...

Friday, July 28, 2017

Online story: "Senate Republicans failed to pass a pared-down Obamacare repeal bill early Friday on a vote of 49-51 that saw three of their own dramatically break ranks. * Three Republican senators — John McCain, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski — and all Democrats voted against the bill" -- McCain just screwed up following his earlier heroic gesture of getting back to Washington to vote for letting the healthcare bill be opened up for Senate discussion.. McCain would have been better off by not showing up last night to vote at all.. the results would have been the same, but he wouldn't have soiled himself.

---
Mainscream media just doesn't understand how Trump works...remember last campaign when Trump seemed to lay on his own hand grenades...and did so until the 3rd debate, then spun on a dime on the winning course? He's doing it again..all the mainscream media are now trying to do is tell him how yo do his job the way they see it..Then soon, when mainscream media is least expecting it, Trump will up for air and leave mainscream media treading in his wake. Oh.. Trump's base "gets him".

---
Online headline: "Putin threatens to retaliate over new sanctions" - Hmmm.... how.. by finding new hidden poll boxes that have enough uncounted Hellary votes to over turn the 2016 results?

---
Online headline: "Shocking video shows former NFL player running through glass door" -- Hmmm.. guess we'll hear from the Democrats that the player is transgender and was showing he could break through glass doors and ceilings...

---
So Hellary is promoting a "bombshell" in her new book. Well, the only bombshells that could earthshaking would be if she actually spoke the truth...or...announced her divorce from Bill... don't hold your breath on either thought.

---
Hellary's new book, "What Happened".. should be retitled, "What Happens"... and associate it with the old bumper sticker one of Columbus' former mayors "banned" on cars...after all, you can bet the book will be full of "what".

---
Yesterday, we learned about what can only be described as a questionable deal involving a property exchange between Mayor Tom-LY\ING-son and her sister.. one "legal eagle" has made the following observation, "$181,500, then "quitclaimed" to Tomlinson Properties LLC in 2011---deed in lieu of foreclosure? Maybe transaction a little deeper."  I do believe the IRS and some GA Ethics Committee should make some inquiries into this.. Maybe this is why Josh McKoon's committee got "deep sixed".

---
For a brief moment yesterday,Amazon's Jeff Bezos took over the title from Bill Gates as the "richest man/person in the world"... of course Bezos was probably using a Windows-based spread sheet to calculate, and Gates ordered a brief software "crash" to fix things?

---
Online headline: "Google pledges $50 million to help people land jobs" -- Hmmm... Hmmm.. why not just give McDonald's the money to open 50 inner city franchises to staff only with jobless people?

----
WalletHub has a top 150 "worst run cities in the US list out": Only two GA cities made the list.. Atlanta, and... Columbus.. Hmmm.. Macon, Augusta, Savannah, Athens. Albany didn't make this list.. Our Mayor Tom-LYING-son does fit in well with her Atlanta background...

https://wallethub.com/edu/best-run-cities/22869/#detailed

---
L-E  headline: "Boy Scouts of America head apologizes for Trump’s ‘political rhetoric’ at Jamboree" -- Hmmm 1 weenie out of 40,000 plus others.. The L-E really knows how to demonstrate its biases.. I'm sending a donation offer to BSA... good when the BSA terminates the weenie.

---
Warped LIV's L-E "soundoff": "If we were not so driven to lock away immigrants, those migrants would not have died in that hot truck. If they did not fear us, they would be alive." -- Good grief.. we only "lock away" people who have broken our laws.. Immigrants that come through the FRONT DOOR have no need to fear being "locked away". What immigrants should fear is liberals encouraging them to sneak in illegally..

---
With the number of "distracted driving" cases made at a CPD "sting operation". my advice to those wanting to fight it in court is not to expect the Recorder's Court judge for help.. ask your case to be bound over to State Court, and if the State Court chooses to pursue the case, you'll get a jury to talk with.

---
L-E headline: "Columbus jobless rate jumps to 6 percent, second highest in Ga." -- First, did you notice how the L-E tries to mimimize the damage by saying Columbus has the "second highest" rather than the "second worst"? I don't know who's legacy gets the biggest dings.. Mayor Tom-LYING-son who wants to run for higher office, or Congressman Bishop who also has the worst city (Albany) and the 4th worst (Macon) in his District.

---
L-E headline: "Public vote will decide which historic Columbus property wins grant" --  Whatta cop out.. the HCF should announce it's choice based on merits of how it will be used to improve Columbus.. not on a popularity contest that pits supporters against each other.

L-E headline/story: "Soap Box Derby racers set to take to the streets Saturday *  Typically, soap box derby has been a family activity, where families go out and purchase cars for their children and they enter them into a soap box derby race in their area,” Robbie Branscomb, co-founder of Let’s Grow (STEAM)X , told the Ledger-Enquirer. “What we were able to identify very quickly was that, with the cars starting at $700, almost $800 per car, it wasn’t going to be an activity that every child could participate in if it required the parents to purchase it.” -- While I am overjoyed at the return of the Soap Box Derby,, but I am dismayed that people think the purpose of this is to see which "bought" car is the best. The real purpose of the Soap Box Derby was, and should be,  to promote the relationship between a parent and his/her child as they built something together and reaped that life-changing benefit. It use to be, only the wheels were bought (to insure safety and uniformity) from the Soap Box Derby organization.

Online story: "With Hillary Clinton supporters anxiously anticipating her upcoming tell-all, we're learning more about the book due out in September. * According to the Hill, Clinton will double down on her theory that Russia's election meddling and James Comey's public remarks over her email investigation ultimately cost her the election." -- "cost her the election"? Good grief... she couldn't have won the Democratic nomination if not for the "super-delegate" conspiracy, and those who voted for Trump would never have voted for her against anybody else...

---
Online headline: "Rep. Steve Scalise discharged from hospital after being wounded in June baseball shooting" -- Please pause a moment for continued and renewed prayers for Representative Scalise and his family.

---
Online headline: "Former president filed UFO sighting report 43 years ago" -- Oooops, my bad.. that was Carter, and I figured he was meeting current California Governor Moonbeam Brown for the first time..

---
Online headline: "One month later, Jon Ossoff has harsh words for Donald Trump" -- "has harsh words for Donald Trump"? Good grief.. like Ossoff could think of something he hasn't already said at a time when no one but CNN/MSNBC actually cares for what he says?

---
Online headline: "Gwinnett Democrats planning to get boisterous for ‘Democracy Day’" -- Good grief.. what do Democrats actually know about Democracy other than it flies in the face of Socialism and Individual Freedoms?

---
Going to bring up another Tomlinson held property today.. wasn't going to do so, but her sister made such an issue.. and on facts not in evidence... yesterday, and she's involved in the transaction I'm bringing up..The Mayor's sister owned a house and another attached lot she bought in 2006 for $181,500, then "quitclaimed" to Tomlinson Properties LLC in 2011.. Trouble is.. there was a "zero" value on the exchange.. I understand when a spouse "quitclaims" property to the other spouse that there is not a monetary exchange, but how can this happen between sisters? And after 11 years, said two properties have lost value under the Mayor's new tax assessment software....HMN (holding my nose)....

Yesterday I wrote that Ben & Jerry's was caught with weed killer in their ice cream products. I chastised them a bit for that, but maybe it was because I didn't think it all the way through.. Ben & Jerry may have done us all a favor.. with marijuana so prevalent in many liberal states/communities, maybe Ben & Jerry were trying "to kill" the "effect" of "weed" by putting in an "antidote" in their "munchies" so the rest of us won't necessarily be in danger as the pot smokers get in their cars after smoking and "munchie-ing".

---
Looking further into the 5-year lease of the Civic Center announced yesterday to the "Burn", I now realize there is no mention of how much the new owner will pay to practice at either the Civic Center or the 2nd ice rink. It's expensive to keep those surfaces frozen and in playing condition.

---
Even Sam's is getting sneaky.. at least more deceptive...I went in and bought my giant economy sized shampoo this week. Same location/price as usual, but..when I got home and swapped it out I noticed something..the old bottle was 40 ounces..but the new one is only 38.2 ounces..shame on Sam's..trying to sneak by me with less product for my money.

---
L-E story: "President Donald Trump tweeted Wednesday morning that transgender people would not be allowed to serve in the U.S. military." -- why is mainscream media so averse to common sense? Trump's main concern is to spend tax dollars more wisely on supporting the safety of our soldiers, not paying for personal decisions.

---
L-E headline: "Kentucky Democratic PAC director charged with theft, forgery" -- Good grief.. earlier this week, a Debbie Washerwoman Schultz staffer was arrested trying to flee the country...now this.. tip of the iceberg!

---
L-E story: "SIOUX CITY, IOWA  * A former baseball player intends to challenge Republican U.S. Rep. Steve King in Iowa's 4th District. *  The 37-year-old played baseball at Morningside College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and later for the Sioux city Explorers." -- Good grief.. is the mainsceam media so desperate to find "celebrity" candidates (since Trump was one) to ballyhoo that it raises the value of a college/minor league athlete to stardom?

---
Doubleheader headlines: "Walmart Inc. (NYSE:WMT) met with government and business leaders in Washington on Wednesday to unveil a plan to spur growth in domestic manufacturing efforts that company executives say will create an estimated 1.5 million new jobs in the United States." -- "Foxconn to build Apple iPhone Factory in Wisconsin" -- Mainscream media is having a mental breakdown.. it's biggest demon and it's favorite icon are praising Trump for making it easy to do business in America Again!

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "What a role model for the Scouts! Trump curses, insults Obama, and turns it into a political rally. Read the Scout laws and see how Trump, who was not a Scout, violated all of them." -- Ldet's see.. Trump never equated himself as anything other than THE President! And, certainly no one can asociate either Clinton or Obama with leading the life of a good boy scout.

---
L-E headline: "Countywide tax reassessments could give city coffers a boost" -- Well.. not on the backs of two "Thaw the Freeze" supporters.. since the tax freeze was upheld... AGAIN.. the drop in property values won't reduce the tax liability of one of our Representatives who's new property vale was assessed $144,000 lower nor a lawyer who's home was reassessed nearly $200,000 lower than last year's value. Both would have seen tax debt lowered by over $2,000.00 per year... not so since they are both under the Freeze.

---
From the "wrongful controversy" department - L-E headline/story: "Ohio carries out execution amid controversy * An Ohio prisoner convicted of raping and murdering a toddler in Akron in 1993 was put to death Wednesday morning, the state’s first execution in more than three years. * The execution of Ronald Phillips, who was 19 when he killed Sheila Marie Evans, his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter, came amid a legal dispute about the constitutionality of Ohio’s execution method" -- The only controversies should have been why this scumbag was not executed 23 (or more) years ago, and why any lawyer would file an appeal for him.

---
L-E headline: "Experimental treatments target brain cancer like McCain’s" -- Hmmm... and if it works and cures McCain, maybe Trump can issue an Executive Order that all Democrat Politicians and voters get the same treatment/cure.

Wednesday, July 26, 2017

Looks like Ben & Jerry's has been declared anti-green.. and for good reason.. in a test of 11 of its product, 10 contained elements of a commercial weed killer. So much for libs wanting to make things greener.

---
From the "we can't let America know how well the Scouting generation likes Trump" department -  Online "headLIE": "The Boy Scouts of America distance themselves from President Trump" -- Good grief.. the BSA released a statement following Trump's dynamic appearance, " "The Boy Scouts of America is wholly non-partisan and does not promote any one position, product, service, political candidate or philosophy." It's also worth noting that the article stated that, "It's worth noting that former presidents Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton were all boy scouts, while President Trump was not." which is wrought with lies..Bush and Clinton were both in the Cub Scouts, while Obama was never a Boy Scout (though is credited with being in a boy scouting Indonesian organization called Gerakan Pramuka (I imagine Obama's Gerakan Pramuka files are sealed, too).

---
Online story: "Another hot mic moment for two U.S. senators. * This time, Republican Susan Collins and Democrat Jack Reed were talking specifically about President Trump and his budget. * They both called the White House's handling of spending irresponsible, saying, "I think -- I think he's crazy. I mean, I don't say that lightly and as a kind of a goofy guy." -- You know.. the Republican Party should expel Collins from the Party and exclude her from running in the next Republican primary.

---
From the "the reality of it is reality" department - Online headline/story: "Ivanka Trump mocked after misquoting Albert Einstein on Twitter *  The tweet, which Trump posted in June 2013, attributed the quote, "If the facts don't fit the theory, change the facts," to the famed scientist." -- The reality is that while it's not a proven quote of Einstein, it is often ATTRIBUTED to him. We all know that ""If the facts don't fit the theory, change the facts" is more likely the joint secret creed of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, the Democrat National Committee, and the Clintons.

---
How interesting...mainscream media and Democrats want to delve deeply into whatever a Trump says to uncover if any lies are present...strange since mainscream media and Democrats have zero interest in the career of lies the Clintons have lived on.

---
Congressman Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland, stated he and the Democrats are very proud of OObamCRAP. Every Republican running for National office in 2018 should run the clip of Hoyer's statement as their "go to" ad statement.

---
Online headline: "A U.S. Navy ship fired warning shots at an Iranian ship in the Persian Gulf on Tuesday, U.S. defense officials confirmed to Fox News." -- What a difference with Obama out of the picture .. our military leaders can now protect our soldiers ..first!

---
You know, if some Republicans running for re-election in 2018, and say they feel threatened, it's probably because they have not embraced the Trump phenomena which has fired up the Republican base.

---
Has anyone had any dealings with K12.com or ConnectionsAcademy.com? Both advertise free public school education online.. such a system would ..could..revolutionize education as we now know it. Just think of how dramatically our property taxes would drop, and how many discipline and logistic problems would disappear.

---
Online headline/story: "Feds arrest IT staffer for Wasserman Schultz trying to leave country * A House IT staffer at the center of a congressional computer equipment scandal has been arrested by federal officials and charged with bank fraud * the FBI and Customs and Border Protection were involved in the arrest of Imran Awan at Dulles International Airport.  * (Awan) had bought a ticket to fly Monday to Doha, Qatar, and then Lahore, Pakistan, with a return flight booked for early January. * Awan and his relatives worked for House Democrats for more than a decade" -- And Debbie Washerwoman Schulz declared, "I know Nothink".

---
Online headline: "BART officials withholding crime surveillance tapes for 'fear of racial stereotyping'" -- You know. just by expressing it's fear of potential racial profiling, BART has DEMONSTRATED it IS racial profiling...

---
L-E story: "The man who is working to resurrect hockey in Columbus now has a five-year lease with the Civic Center, all that remains is to secure a franchise with the Southern Professional Hockey League * The lease is a 23-page agreement that will charge Burn Entertainment $3,000 per home game. * The lease also gives permission to the new hockey franchise to upgrade the video scoreboard and sound system in the arena at the owner’s expense. When the improvements are completed, Burn Entertainment will get a $1,000 per game credit against the $3,000 per game payment. The per game credit will remain in place until half of the capital improvement costs are recovered." --  Good grief! Who negotiates leases for the taxpayers of Columbus.. a 5 year speculative lease with no provision for inflation, and franchise gets $1,000.00 per game  credit for installing a new scoreboard which he'll probably get donated (partially or totally) by the ad sponsor..

---

L-E headline/story: "Council seeks state advice on tax assessments * Columbus Council approved a motion Tuesday to seek guidance from state officials about what council can do to address tax assessments that have jumped by as much as 1,000 percent. * Councilors made the decision with an unanimous vote after nearly three hours of intense discussion over the issue. Councilor Glenn Davis made the motion despite legal counsel from City Attorney Clifton Fay, who told councilors that they had very limited authority in the tax assessment process. * Fay said there wasn’t much council could do. * “There are state laws that set up appeals to go to the Board of Tax of Assessors, which is an arm of the state,” Fay said. “One of the statutes that does give this council some authority only comes into play if the State Revenue commissioner disapproves the local county digest.” -- "Fay said there wasn’t much council could do"? You know.. this was known before Council approved of the contract with new software company.. now either Tom-LYING-son or Fay did not inform/explain this properly to Council, or Council knew exactly what would happen and is now feigning "ignorance and indignation" since the taxpayers are revolting in great numbers.

---
Mike Pence did something as heroic as McCain yesterday.. While McCain's vote of "Yes" set the stage for Pence, it is Pence's vote that throws healthcare into the Senate arena for open discussion.. something the Democrat Senate did not do when voting on the current OObamaCRAP bill.

A L-E Letter to the Editor writes: "It pays to shop around at various pharmacies when you have to pay out of pocket for a prescription. A patient of mine, with no insurance, had to buy 21 tablets of 1 gram Valtrex, for shingles. The cash price varied tremendously… at Publix, the cost was the highest at $254. At Walgreens $233, at CVS $232. But at the independent pharmacies, Medical Park, Glenn's and U-Saveit, it was $27." -- You know, if the writer simply gets a free app to "Goodrx", he can get his prescription filled at Target/CVS for $26.05, and save even more.

"Thaw the Freeze" advocate for today's purge is Mayor Tom-LYING-son.. well. her rental properties in Wynnton./MidTown:
One rental property in Overlook on OakCircle went up from $109,750 to over $215,000.. you cab bet she'll be appealing this one herself, but the question is why did she not have it reassessed during the last 17 years she has owned it and paid too little in taxes.

Two other properties abut each other at 1234 & 1236 Wildwood..She bought them in 2002 for $57,000, and $245,000 respectively.. She got a great price on the first piece (1236 Wildwood at $57K) and it was up in value to $110K last year but has risen to $137K this year.. strangely, the actual property.. the dirt and such, has gone down in value by 39%. The 1234 property has not kept up and dropped $1,000 in value this year with an amazing drop in the actual property vale by 17%.. I say amazing because of all the tax money she's spent to spruce up MidTown.

Extreme LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Fees, lotteries and civil forfeiture programs pay for government through the middle class and poor. Republicans don't like taxes on the rich, but love regressive tax vehicles. Is the Republican middle class on board?" -- "Republicans....love regressive tax vehicles"?  Hey, it's not Republicans that drool over SPLOST, LOST, and other sales taxes; there's no tax more regressive than the lottery and SPLOST/LOST sales taxes. and not one of the ones we suffer from in Columbus have been brought to fruition by a Republican or the local minority Republican voter base.  Democrats have learned they can get people to vote taxes on themselves simply by promising it will affect only the Republicans.

Online story: "CBS46 is uncovering why some city workers say they need free tickets to the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. We're learning a battle is brewing between Invest Atlanta, an economic team led by Atlanta's mayor, and the city's ethics board. * The group says the free tickets are crucial to helping Atlanta's economic growth. * I reached out to Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, but he is not talking about it on camera. The mayor's office simply sent us an Invest Atlanta letter asking the ethics board to expedite consideration of tickets for football and soccer games." -- He. Invest Atlanta< schedule those games here at Columbus' Civic Center, and the Civic Center manager has the power to give away free tickets to anybody he wishes.

---
Online headline: "The (GA) GOP debate over a minimum wage for cops and deputies" -- You know.. I'd hate for a police officer to believe he/she was earning "the minimum" while putting his/her life on the line.. Each community should demonstrate how much it respects the jobs our law enforcement neighbors do... and starting with the politicians who set the priorities.

---
From the "it's absolutely amazing" department - L-E headline/story: "‘Record’ job creation nudges Georgia’s unemployment rate lower * Georgia’s employers are creating “record numbers” of jobs, pushing the state’s unemployment rate lower from 4.9 percent in May to 4.8 percent in June. * That compares to a rate of 5.3 percent in June a year ago. Furthermore, the current jobless rate hasn’t been this low this September 2007, the Georgia Department of Labor reported Thursday. This also is the fifth month in a row that the Peach State’s rate has declined." -- Lowest percent since 2007... 5 straight months in a row... whuile this is wonderful.. even "amazing", what's "ABSOLUTELY AMAZING" is that this L-E generated story did not mention that 8 of the bad ten years were under Obama, and the uplifting 5 months in a row are under TRUMP.
---
From a L-E/Dusty Nix Editorial on information in the above article: "But as Ledger-Enquirer business writer Tony Adams documented in a recent report, the rate of job growth here is considerably slower. And that’s among the better local job figures, at least for now." -- Guess this a as close to an admission that Columbus has suffered under Tom-LYING-son's reign, and that Trump's efforts are still not capable of overpowering her influences...

---
From the "Gomer Pyle" department - Online headline: "John Lewis backs Stacey Abrams in Georgia governor's race " -- Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!..... NOT!

---
From the "maybe you should rethink single-pay government healthcare" department - Online headline/story: "Baby Charlie Gard Loses His Fight and the State Gets its “Death Wish *  Because the British government and London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital have fought Charlie’s parents for the last five months, his condition has progressed too far for even the most experimental treatments to offer hope *  The British government has failed to perform its most basic function and protect one of its most innocent and helpless citizens. *  parents of baby Charlie Gard have announced that they are giving up the fight to save their son. *  Charlie’s mother, Connie Yates, tearfully explained in court this morning, “We only wanted to give him a chance of life. A whole lot of time has been wasted.”" --  I tell you what.. when you hear Democrats, and mainscream media.... and some Rinos,, talking about keeping any part of OObamaCRAP.. remember Charlie Gard.. and Keep your GARD up!"

I'm going to be parsing some "Thaw the Freeze" advocates properties this next few weeks.. and their neighbors.. Since he was so anxious to vote on it, I'm starting with soon-to-be-EX-Representative John Pezold.. His plan really backfired on him. but his next door neighbors will have mixed emotions.. Comparing last year's tax database figures with the recent "new" ones, Pezold's home dropped $144,647.00 since last year.. a whopping 25+%.. If the Freeze had been "thawed", he'd have benefited nearly $2400.00.  As it stands now.. he just lives in a house that lost $144,647.00 in value and is stuck with the old frozen tax rate.. serves him right. Now, lets look at his two neighbors on each side.. one belongs to a bank out of foreclosure.. it used to belong to a ministry and paid no taxes, so Columbus will at least gain something here, though since it moved into the hands of a bank, the property value this year is over $125,000.00 less than 2016's figures.. On the other side, his neighbor's home lost $53,000.00 in value, though she will still have to pay the :frozen" rate though her assets are now lower. There's another home on Pezold's street that's separated from Pezold's house by one of the aforementioned examples.. this neighbor (though she lives in Ft Walton Beach so I assume she's declared Florida his home state for estate purposes) probably has mixed emotions.. unlike her next door neighbor she doesn't have a H1 homestead exemption, and his home actually rose in value by some $15,000.00 and without  the Freeze, her taxes will be higher this year.

---
L-E headline/story: "Motorists caught in distracted driving sting face court dates this week * On June 1, a special detail from the police department’s Motor Squad set up along Bradley Park Drive and issued 96 citations, most for distracted driving and no seat belts in just two and a half hours." -- If the Mayor and CPD really want to make "driving while distracted on a cellphone" a steady source of income, she should post undercover police in all the known drug-laced neighborhoods and catch drug dealers making sales while behind the wheel of their cars.

---
Since it began last year as "Together 2016" and now has evolved into "Together 2017", the L-E has run daily ads promoting the individuals who are part of this group.. I still am waiting for the answers to "Who is footing the ad bills?", and "How much has been spent on ads that could actually have been spent on projects?".. Oh, one other question remains unanswered.. "What are the positive results from any of the announced projects?".

---
Editorial cartoonists are a mixed breed... some..few actually.. have an observant eye that captures the overall political mood of the country.. most.. especially the ones that the Columbus L-E chooses to print, seem to have nothing to do but parse Trump/Republican efforts in a way to strike down all their efforts to Make America Great Again.

---
Many Columbus restaurants are offering great specials this week..What a great opportunity to have great "date nights" and enjoy the best of Columbus' food fare at a comfortable price. Get out. ... and ..ENJOY!

---

Wow.. after seemingly lower numbers, the L-E's "Foreclosure Section (though split in 2-sections to disguise it as best the L-E can) has over 8 pages of foreclosure ads.. Here's Tom-LYING-son's true legacy...

Regarding the newly released property assessments in Columbus, GA: Two really  big questions are floating out here.. Since the Tax Freeze was upheld, how can taxes be raised/lowered by new assessments, and if your H1 property was assessed higher/lower, do you have to file an appeal to protect your interests?

---
With the influx of shootings/shooting deaths in Columbus, GA of late, The City slogan "What Progress Has Preserved" may soon change to "Chicago South"

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "We liberals declare you Repugs the champions in the humor department. We couldn't come up with the biggest joke of a president the world has ever seen ... but you did." -- We conservatives had to laugh when y'all put Obama in but only because crying was self destructively painful. Bottom line is that the only bigger joke than Obama would have been Hellary..

---
It's now 40 years we have been stressed at justice being administered in the case of Carlton Gary. While it is paramount that all efforts be made to protect the rights of the charged.. and convicted, those rights do not precede the rights of the citizens to see justice carried out in a timely manner.

---
A Minnesota School District has ordered it's schools to allow all students (read..TRANSGENDERS) to use the bathroom they feel safest in. Hmmm..how about the majority of girls who have to be concerned that boys entering the Girls bathrooms aren't just there on a fantasy trip?

Online story: "Pope Francis created a controversy amongst Evangelicals this week, when he stated in his weekly address, that those who believe they can maintain a "personal" and "direct" relationship with Jesus Christ outside the "mediation of the Church" was "dangerous and harmful." * In his weekly address from St. Peter's Square, the Pope said, "No one becomes Christian on his or her own! Is that clear? No one becomes Christian by him- or herself." * "Christians are not made in a laboratory. A Christian is part of a people who comes from afar. The Christian belongs to a people called the Church and this Church is what makes him or her Christian, on the day of Baptism, and then in the course of catechesis, and so on," the Pontiff continued.
* "We are able to live this journey not only because of others, but together with others. In the Church there is no 'do it yourself', there are no 'free agents'," the Pope added." -- "dangerous and harmful"..."the Church... is what makes him or her a Christian"? Once again, Poop Francis confirms my moniker for him is more than accurate.

I asked the Mayor and Council whether Columbusites with H1 ememptions would have to file appeals on thei property tax assessments.. this is Mayor Tom-LYING-son's same day response:

"Thanks Hal. Actually, no, if the owner has a Tax Freeze or H1 exemption, their valuation does not change regardless of the reassessment. Their assessment is frozen from upward and downward valuation. So, no they don't have to file an appeal to keep their frozen valuation."

Teresa Pike Tomlinson

-- Hmmm.. I'm going to "accept her word" on his one as it applies to me.. but from what I've heard from other people about their re-assessments, I'd remember her past.. and file anyway.

---
Two weeks ago, we left Columbus for a 9 day Texas adventure.. the 6 acre lot at River & Mobley Rds was pretty much "wooded" except or some prelimnary work to seemingly cut out some future raod beds through the property. When we got back, the whole 6 acres was devoid of greenery, and looked like a used construction machinery dealership.  I still don't know what is going up there (inquiry to my Councilors was in vain), but don't companies usually post a huge sign advertising "what's coming"?

---
There's a horrific story about 9 men being found dead in the back of a semi-trailer parked in a parking lot in San Antonio, TX. Purportedly, they were smuggled in illegally.. The article is not clear as to whether the people were loaded into the back of the truck in Mexico, or at some point in the US, but if  they were brought across the border inside the truck.. I want  to know HOW this could happen .

---
Online headline: "USS Constitution, newly restored, is returning to the water" -- Ahhhh! I remember my venture aboard the USS Constitution in 1992 at the Boston Harbor. It was bigger than life, though I cannot imagine a sailor of 6' 6" in height enjoying working aboard her...

---
Online headline/story: "Ruth Bader Ginsburg hopes for less political gridlock 'in my lifetime * "My hope is in my lifetime we will get back to the way it was," Justice Ginsburg said.'" -- Good grief.. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was APPOINTED to CREATE "political gridlock"... and so far she's done a great job at it.. to America's dismay...and as far as getting "back to the way it was". as soon as she relinquishwes her seat.. it will be a good start.

---
L-E headline: "Rise in homicides has families, police looking for answers" -- "families, police looking for answers"? How about us neighbors, innocent bystanders, and taxpayers as well.. what we need is a Mayor and Council and Court system looking for SOLUTIONS!

From above story: "“All of the unsolved homicides in Columbus are related to drugs, gangs or both,” he said." -- Hmm.. there's the answer.. at least the politically expedient one.. we have no gangs or drug problems! In fact, drug crimes are considered "non-violent" as outlined by immediate past President Obama and confirmed by Mayor/Council.

---
L-E headline: ""Take a Magical Mystery Tour of the Government Center" -- While concerned with all, my two main concerns are, in no certain order, are  that water pipes have corroded (didn't know copper or PVC corroded), and why are employees selected to anxiously point out deficiencies they should have been maintaining all along?

---
Obvious flower child and Uber-LIV's L-E  "soundoff": "The House Budget Committee 2018 budget calls for deep cuts to Medicaid and food stamps and converts Medicare to voucher system. Said they’re “unsustainable,” yet increased defense spending by $662 billion." -- Good grief.. without a good military, slackers in this category would never see "free anything" if another government took over the US because we could defend our borders.

---
L-E headline: "The five most dangerous creatures in the Chattahoochee * Copperhead Snake, E. COLI, Snapping Turtle, Flesh-Eating bacteria, Timber Rattlesnake" -- Wait a minute.. if not number 1, then certainly in the top 5 would be the alcohol-laced speed/ski boat drivers!

---
From the "maybe some 'splainin' may be necessary" department -L-E story: "From Council Agenda: "PROPERTY ACQUISITION - 1511 CUSSETA ROAD: Approval is requested to acquire 1511 Cusseta Road in the amount of $375,000, plus closing costs, in an effort to relocate the Public Works Street Division onto Cusseta Road. Public Works is interested in the warehouse property mentioned above to relocate the Street Division off of Schatulga Road. It would also be used for records storage and surplus auction items. This property is adjacent to the current property that the Public Works Department already occupies at 602 11th Ave." -- You know, I generally find where the Mayor has volunteered tax dollars to pay more than the fair market value of such properties, but in this case. it seems we're getting a break, and some taxpayer is getting shafted. The siad property was carried on the books last year at a total value of $533K, and this year was assessed at $583K, yet the City is buying it for "ONLY" $375K (plus closing costs). I want to know if the current property owner might want to sell the property to me for $400K (plus closing costs)? The sad thing is another $9K in annual taxes will go up in smoke.

I also notice  that "upgrades" for a new "Network switches and AP bundles" package for the Mayor's and City Manager's offices is in the requests.. excuse me, if the Mayor and City Manager are wanting the old building gutted or replaced, why are taxpayers going to have to waste money on "upgrades"? Can;t ewither the Mayor of City Manager just ask someone in another area not scheduled for dismantling do their computer searches?

Argh! Another tax dollar request drips of waste.. From abouve story: "VIDEO VISITATION SYSTEM FOR MUSCOGEE COUNTY JAIL - It is requested that council approve the purchase of a new video visitation system from Lightspeed Data Links (Columbus) in the amount of $ $495,694; an initial $80,000 payment will be made to Light-speed Data Links upon completion of the installation. It is further requested that council approve the City Manager and Sheriff to enter into an Equipment Lease with a purchase option with Family Holdings Sub, LLC in order to fund the remaining balance due for the equipment." -- "an Equipment Lease  with a purchase option"? We're talking electronics.. if there is a lease, then by expiration, the value of the equipment is way past value.. why would we taxpayers be on the \hook to purchase such.. the Leasing Company should be required to remove all said equipment when the lease is over so the City can seek new and updated equipment..

Also on the agenda is this "head scratching" item: "First reading – An ordinance amending Chapter 2 of the Columbus Code by adding a new Section 2-3.07 so as to prohibit candidacy for office in Muscogee County by persons employed by grantees receiving general operating funds from the Consolidated Government; and for other purposes. (Councilor Davis)" -- One can only think that something has happened to bring such an ordinance rewrite to a head.. how about the City telling us the who;e story before voting on such a change?

Online headline/story: "New York Times reporter criticized over essay about racism shown by white women on sidewalks * as a pedestrian in New York then says, "In seven years of living and walking here, I've found that most people walk courteously — but that white women, at least when I'm in their path, do not." *  He adds that "sometimes they're buried in their phones. Other times, they're in pairs and groups, and in conversation. But often, they're looking ahead, through me, if not quite at me. When white women are in my path, they almost always continue straight, forcing me to one side without changing their course." -- You know.. this isn't about racism, it's about a reporter who has no respect for women.. and their color doesn't really matter.

---
Online headline: "Trump cheers 'record-high optimism' among US manufacturers" -- Now, if we can only get mainscream media to focus on this... this is the real story about Trump the President.

---
Neither wanting to seem or come across as callous, I do wonder what Senator McCain, and every Congressional member, would feel about having brain cancer, and have OObamaCRAP as their healthcare source. Especially Senator McCain having to muse how a panel would consider whether medical costs at his age should be withheld.

---
Amazing...not a single liberal, not a single federal judge from Hawaii has filed an injunction about Muslims living in America being banned from traveling to North Korea.

---
Extra stupid Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "GOP, go ahead and repeal healthcare. But you and your families must also lose coverage. Politicians like Perdue, Isakson, Ferguson, Handel, etc., must watch their family members get sick and die." -- Good grief.. what have Democrats bred.. a following of slackers who don't even consider they are responsible and accountable for caring for their families.. not the government!

---
From the "Here they come... again,, America!" department - L-E headline/story: "CHARITY MOTORCYCLE RIDE * Miracle Riders roar off on journey to Arctic Circle * the Miracle Riders rumbled off to begin their 10,000-mile journey from Columbus (GA) to Coldfoot, Alaska. * The 17 riders on motorcycles, and two others following in a chase vehicle, will return to Columbus in August. * The trip will raise money and awareness of the Methodist Home for Children & Youth of South Georgia and funds for that organization’s two Our House campuses in Columbus: Carpenter’s Way home for boys and Arabella home for girls." -- OK, America.. welcome these generous, dedicated, and concerned men as they travel through your areas..

---
The nerve of Superior Court Clerk Ann Hardman.. ordering informed people not to help their neighbors learn about how to file tax assessment appeals... But, first, lets parse Hardman's connection to the City..according to the Muscogee County Tax Database, she is not a homeowner, and her adresses used on Financial Disclosures required of elected officials are just as confusing whether she actually even lives here. The rented address she used during her campaign was sold out from under her this past December, but yet she used that address on her January 31, 2017 Campaign Contribution Disclosure Report, and then used another address.. one that is on "the books" belonging to another couple with a H1 homestead exemption, for her June 19, 2017 Personal Financial Disclosure Statement. She actually lists "No ownership interests with a fair market value in excess of $5,000.00" for neither her or her husband. Obviously, she must be renting at her "new address" which should revoke the listed homeowners' H1 exemption status.

L-E story: "The Alabama State Department of Education isn’t expected to release the 2017 results of its standardized tests until September, but Phenix City Schools superintendent Randy Wilkes has provided the Ledger-Enquirer a sneak peek – and the scores include historic highs for the system. " -- Hmmm coming on top of the dismal report we had about the MCSD scores, Columbus can negotiate a trade.. and even swap for School Superintendents and Mayors.

Never expected to hear/say this again... "The Juice is on the Loose".... come October 1st...

---
Online headline/story: "Democrats' reported 2018 slogan bears a strong resemblance to Papa John's *  Late on Wednesday, The Washington Post reported that congressional Democrats are set to release a de facto 2018 campaign platform focused on highlighting their positions on economic issues, under the slogan "Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages." *  The slogan generated some backlash on social media, where some users pointed out that it was reminiscent of pizza chain Papa John's longtime slogan: "Better Ingredients, Better Pizza."" -- Hmmm.. even though the Democratic Party "product" resembles a Papa John's "product... FLAT.... Papa John's does something the Democrats do not do.. Papa John's DELIVERS!

---
Remember how involved Mayor Tom-LYING-son was in holding forums to inform.. to "educate"... the citizens about how they'd benefit from voting off the "freeze"? Hmmm, then why isn't she " as caring" about informing the citizens about how to file appeals over the new tax assessment increases?

---
Hmmm.. Ole Miss' Coach Hugh Freeze just resigned... seems something out of the blue hit him from  "The Blind Side".

---
L-E headline/story: "MCSD improves standardized test passing rate but trails state average *  The L-E emailed MCSD Superintendent David Lewis questions about these results. He didn’t respond directly, but he said in a news release, “I am pleased with the return on investment we are realizing in the sustained areas of improvement such as increased reading Lexile levels in nearly all grades." -- The number one question is why was not the resignation of Lewis and every MCSB member who voted to hire him on Frank Myers' desk already? I tell you what, after reading Dr Lewis' statement, it's no wonder our students are lost.. if this is the way Lewis communicates, no student has a clue of what they need to know to communicate in the world upon graduation...

You know, the math scores really reveal how poor our students are reading.. math requires the ability to READ and COMPREHEND the problems in order to solve them.

The Democrats are not only disengaged with the needs of America, they are desperate heading into 2020... Dems are floating the name of Kamala Harris as potential presidential candidate.. She's the Junior Senator from California, and at this time she has a total 6 months (and 3 days) of being trained by UpChuck Schumer to be an obstructionist. What Democrats don't understand is that America needs LEADership... not another "lead balloon".

---
When was the last time you saw your print newspaper with a headline about the stock-markets being at record levels... and employment seekers growing in numbers? Oh.. didn't know that .. huh.. not surprising.

---
I do not want to sound callous, as I am not... an 11 year old girl was viciously killed in New Jersey..and there has been an arrest of an 18 year old in the same apartment complex, but that's not the focus of my observation.. there's an effort to bring the girl's father back from Jamaica before his daughter is buried.. according to the story, he was deported to Jamaica in 2001.. excuse me, but either the date reported is a typo, or he's not the girl's father...

---
Once again libs are trying to make a mockery out of the2016 election results by claiming Hellary had 3,000,000 more votes than Trump.. The trouble is that though Hellary had 3.9 million more votes in California. Trump not only won 30 states, but Trump had the majority of votes in the other 49 states that aren't California. Hellary's win by 3.9 million in California only proves one thing... that it's possible.. no, probable.. that flakes like Moonbeam Jerry Brown, and "the Arnold", and Maxine Waters/Pelosi/Feinstein can win elections.

---
There's one of those liberal polls saying most Americans "fear" a war with Korea... goof grief.. Korea won't be able to get a missile across its Eastern border without it being shot down by us, and about 5 "MOAB" bombs dropped from higher that Korea has the capacity to shoot down will obliterate Kim Jong Oooops' world.

---
Online headline: "Al Gore: I thought Trump 'would come to his senses, but I was wrong’" -- Good grief.. Algore has always been "wrong".. from the gitgo of his public life, Algore was WRONG for America... in every way.

---
Online headline: "Wells Fargo to close 450 branches" -- On a local issue.. now that Columbus Bank and Trust  is dropping its "forever" name and being relabeled "Synovus",  will closing some.. maybe most, of its local branches be far behind, too?

---
Oh, one thing that I learned.. it's been a while since I bought a breakfast biscuit at McDonald's. I usually buy those at Burger King because the sausage is better and the price is less .. When in Waco, we had no close BK so we grabbed a breakfast at a McDonald's. I had suspected that BK has been reducing the size of its biscuits but my suspicions were confirmed compared to the McDonald's biscuit.. at least in Texas.. I plan to test out local offerings this week and will report later.

---
You know.. liberals don't want to talk about our Constitution unless they are looking at ways to change it to suit their own egos and agenda.

---
L-E headline: "Republicans aid Trump effort to legalize politics in the pulpit" -- Hmmm.. I guess it is about time that Republicans do what Democrats have been doing all along...

---
Fraud? There's one of those fresh food by mail companies advertising it only costs "$10.00 a meal". Maybe a portion, but claiming that you can have a family meal for $10.00 is a bit too much for the FCC not to put a stop to that ad.

---
You know, when liberal polls expound on Trump's popularity of being presidential are the lowest/worst numbers ever, it's really because liberals don't have an example among themselves who knows/knew how to.be a successful president.

---
Online headline" (GA) DOT announces 2nd continuous flow intersection in state" -- Hmmm.. just shows how out of contact Columbus' Democrat Mayor Tom-LYING-son has been.. she's still bragging/advocating about roundabouts.

Online story: "MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Donald Trump Jr. is scheduled to visit Montgomery for an Oct. 5 speaking engagement at the Faulkner University Benefit Dinner. * University President Mike Williams tells Al.com (http://bit.ly/2oZpnat ) that Trump will speak at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center during the university's annual dinner to raise money for student scholarships. * For more information visit www.Faulkner.edu/Trump ." -- Just in case we don't hear about this opportunity in the L-E...

From the "suspicions confirmed" department - Online headline/story: "First statewide bicycle tax in nation leaves bike-crazy Oregon riders deflated *  Democratic Gov. Kate Brown is expected to sign the sweeping $5.3 billion transportation package, which includes a $15 excise tax on the sale of bicycles costing more than $200 with a wheel diameter of at least 26 inches. * The bike tax is aimed at raising $1.2 million per year in order to improve and expand paths and trails for bicyclists and pedestrians." -- Good grief.. even when bicyclists are the beneficiaries of their mandated contributions, they feel it is unfair.. and we wonder how the Republican Party has become moderate..

---
Online headline/story: "Vigilante pothole team brings relief to California drivers but draws ire of county officials * Months after heavy rains ravaged roads and bridges in Northern California, officials in Santa Cruz County say it could still take more than a year to repair all the damage, especially in the mountains that are home to several thousand residents.  * That's too long for the Santa Cruz Vigilante Pothole Brigade, a group of intrepid locals who've raised money and manpower to do the job themselves. * The brigade is comprised of moms and dads, firefighters, entrepreneurs and fearless do-it-yourselfers fed up with tire-popping potholes – and a county public works agency telling them to just be patient *  Using their own pickup trucks, they back over the repair job several times, smoothing the patch with their tires. Each job takes about five minutes. * But Mcvoy said he and his band of road warriors will continue to pave over problems and help their community – whether the government approves the group or not. " -- Columbus.. it's about time we took back our roads! We could organize the "Red McDaniel Brigade"!

Online story: "Georgia is ranked the No. 2 state for business in CNBC's annual "America’s Top States for Business" ranking, published Tuesday. * That's a big jump from last year. In 2016 Georgia slipped to No. 8 on CNBC's list. *  "Georgia takes the No. 2 slot this year in America's Top States for Business rankings," CNBC said. "The Peach State finished with [a score of] 1,616, rising six spots this year due in part to its economy — the best in the nation, according to our study — boasting solid state finances and solid growth. The state also finishes near the top for Workforce (No. 3) and Infrastructure (No. 4). *  CNBC's ranking is not all peachy for Georgia, though. "However, there is room for improvement in the categories of Education," CNBC said, "where it holds steady at No. 33, due to low test scores and spending; and Quality of Life, where it comes in at the bottom half of the category, at No. 28. Georgia is consistently adding jobs, but recovery has been difficult for the state." -- Hmmm.. looks like GA would have come out on top had Columbus figures been better.. but when a community decides it's locked into the past by supporting Hellary and Tom-LYING-son, you get what you get..

From the "how come this isn't front page news" department - L-E story: "Housing starts climbed 8.3 percent over June a year ago to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.22 million, the Commerce Department said Wednesday. Home construction has risen 3.9 percent year-to-date. *  So far this year, builders have turned their attention toward single-family houses. Starts of single-family houses have risen 7.9 percent, while construction of multi-family buildings has slipped 4.2 percent" -- Hmmm.. a sure sign of consumer.. AND banking industry confidence, and our L-E posts it on the outside of page 4B.. one of the worst placements a newspaper can place a story..  Go, Trump!

---

L-E story: "One month into a three-month task, the Alternative Education Community Advisory Committee for the Muscogee County School Board has released a progress report *  “Our team is looking at the entire alternative education system in the school district, acknowledging gaps in its administration, and providing the school board recommendations to resolve those issues. By doing so, we believe that many of the challenges faced are fixed. Remaining issues are addressed by capabilities that are already present in the school district.” --  Columbus, GA is fortunate.. not only to have Tollie Strode in our community, but having Tollie Strode step up to the plate and be involved with this and other community issues.

We're back home in Georgia after a fun 9 days of enjoying... indulging... ourselves with new sights, old friends, and fine dining a cross the South. Will catch up today and tomorrow. Today will be the ramblings and thoughts that i had while traveling.. spurred on by what we saw and observed..

Stupor-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Since the Republican Congress cannot get any bills passed at this time to make their rich friends richer, they’re opening their hearts to our veterans. Hypocrites." --- "to make their rich friends richer".... "hypocrites"? Was there anything more hypocritical than electing non-business oriented politicians and expect them to run our country efficiently?

---
George Clooney...Mr Lib himself..is abandoning his luxury estate in England to move to LA because of increased Islamic terrorism in London. Hmmm, naturally,.Mr Open Borders wants a walled estate in LA so his family will be safer. Typical lib..do as we preach, not as do.

---
Columbus Water Works has a problem with the cascading fountain on River Road and the drainage below it. It must be vital as CWW assigned a huge work crew to work on it both Saturday and Sunday... they stopped working early in the afternoon without completing the work...well you would think it was so important to be worked on during a weekend that they would have finished it before leaving.

---
Random thought: Times...they have a changed...even the definition of racism is no longer based on the color of one's skin...no, now it's more dependent on an individual's attitude and lack of gratitude.

---
NYC Mayor Bill de Bl(_*_)io showed his (_*_)...again...he shunned the memorial to Officer Familia so he could attend a protest of President Trump at the G20 meeting in Germany. New Yorkers should call for his ousting

---
Mainscream media is America's worst enemy...If mainscream media had a commonality based on the truth, our politicians would be more inclined to work towards America's best interests all the time.

---
There oughta be a law! The ICC should require all cellphone companies to maintain a 4/5 bar-4G coverage on all Interstate Highways!

---
Charlie Gard...if you ever thought you saw merit in government control of your family's healthcare, this is your wake up call.

---
Having just driven I-20 to Texas, and intercity connectors between Waco, Austin and Dallas, it's obvious Obama could care less about our nations infrastructure.

---
Stopped at a Burger King in Monroe, LA...sales taxes totaled 10.5%...you know, I remember when a 10% TIP was a reward for decent service.

---
Between McGregor, TX and Temple, TX, we rode on a two-lane highway with a 75 MPH speed limit..didn't see the first cop..reckon the police felt that if you did speed, they'd figured they'd get a 911 call to come pick up the pieces

---
Fox News asked a contributor if mainscream media has a double standard about how it reports scandals about Democrats.. huh? I think we've totally lost Fox, now. I mean, when have the Democrats/mainscream media had ANY standards?

---
You know, racism is not about the color or race of other people, it's about your poor attitude about other people.

---
Observation: If you change nothing, nothing will change.

---
Let's take a moment to remember Charlie Cumiskey.. former Headmaster at Brookstone School years back.. an educator without peer... a supreme Breakfast Club member ..we shall miss him.

---
It's an absolute travesty, perhaps treasonous, when a lower court judge in Hawaii feels he is entitled to override the US Supreme Courts ruling on immigration restrictions.

---
If I was Trump, I do believe I'd issue an Executive Order repealing OObamaCRAP, and reinstituting the free market system. Then when Reps AND Dems brought me a new signable bill, I'd revoke my EO. After all, Obama himself created EO legislation knowing it would take years for a court to over turn it.

---
Waco is whacko...at least its politicians are..just got our bill for the last 3 nights, and each day,bin addition to the $8.06 in state daily sales taxes, and the $12.08 daily City taxes, we had an addition daily charge of $7.99 listed only as a service fee.I asked the clerk about it, and was told it was a fee for redevoloping historic downtown Waco. Hmmm, I thought..the next time you'll get me back is when historic downtown Waco is fully restored and this exorbitant fee has been revoked.

---
I swore the map on my GPS said Texas, but after being there I know it was Taxes mispelled.

---
Wanna know what's wrong with the Republicans? Well, 24 of them  voted against the military not paying for gender change procedures.

---
Racism....it's not about the color of one's skin, it's about the color of one's thoughts and words... and heart.

---
In case you missed it, that picture purported to possibly be Amelia Earhardt was actually a photo printed in a Japanese "Travelogue" 2 years before her lost flight.

---
Senator McCain underwent surgery..to remove a blood clot above his right eye...maybe it will clear up his vision so he can see RIGHT.,,,again.

---
Heard surgeons removed a blood clot over Sen McCain's eye...I was hoping they would remove that RINO clot in his brain.

---
Senator McCain...while there are plenty of other reasons he needs to be sent home from Washington, but his use of the Mayo Clinic rather than the Veterans medical options proves he's not really interested in helping vets get the medical services they deserve.

---
Went to the "6th Floor Museum" at Dealey Plaza while in Dallas..there were big blown up pictures of Americans waiting for Kennedy to arrive..a lot of the signs mentioned "JFK.. grassroot Democrats"..Bet there are no "grassroot Democrats" today who would vote for Kennedy in a Democrat primary.

---
We went to the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas. The grass was knee high. We asked "why" and were told it was part of a water conservation plan to use indigenous "prairie grass" . To me, it looked more like an appeasement to liberals. The grounds looked unkempt and uninviting. CUT THE GRASS, 43!

---
Nespresso? We had one of those machines in our Dallas hotel...it sucks as bad as George Clooney's political choices and opinions.

---
Never in my life have I seen my bride get as excited about coffee until she spotted a Duncan Donuts store on out way out if Dallas.. We spent 3 glorious mornings in a superlative hotel, and we got ZERO cups of good coffee.. Our room had a crappy Nespresso machine; coffee at their fine restaurant was lukewarm; and the "French Press" coffee brought up by room service was strong & thick enough to have been the star in a Heinz Ketchup "Anticipation" commercial.

---
When I was 16, the sight of toddler John-John Kennedy stepping out to the curb and saluting his father's casket as it rode slowly by brought a nation weepingly to its knees. Watching the video again this past weekend brought  tears back again.

---
You know, millennials really do not understand what socialism is really about so they feel they would like it. Now,.if we tell them that under Socialism, their iPhones would work only as efficient as OObamaCRAP, most millennials would understand why they really wouldn't like Bernie or Hellary as president.

---
I remember a time when it was illegal for lawyers to advertise their services other than in the Yellow Pages. Just drove across Alabama, and I think about half of the billboards were lawyers "fishing" for accident victims..especially big truck accident victims..you know, I'm going to bet some smarter lawyer is going to advertise he's hunting for a victim who had a wreck while distracted by those other lawyers' billboards.

---
My bride and I have been out of state for the past 9 days, and have missed it if the burned body in the back of that car has been identified.. at this point, I'd think the owner of the car should be identified, and get any info he/she might could add.

---
Trump needs to be recruiting candidates to run in Republican Senatorial and Representative primaries in 2018. If the RINOs who currently are obstructing legislative action know they will have to fight for re-election, they'll be more on board in helping Trump..Make America Great Again!

---
When in Austin, TX, we went and visited friends.. For all you Seniors out there, this will stir memories our younger friends will find perplexing... this was from the original McDonalds.. the red and white with the Golden Arches one,  on Macon Road.
It's now lovingly displayed... and used... at the home of one of the daughters of Marshall Raff who owned the original McDonald's franchise in Columbus

From the "huh?" department - John Podesta called President Trump a "whack job" yesterday.  Let me get this straight.. President Trump won the election that Podesta was in charge of for Hellary who was pretty much a conceded  winner, and Podesta screwed it up.. Hmmm... now, who's really the "whack job"?

---
From the "it's in the eyes of the beholders" department - Online headline: "How Russian media reported Trump's meeting with Putin" -- Hmmm.. guess this reporter, Veronika Bondarenko of Business Insider, slept through the class on Russian media bias.. In a much vaunted story of the Cold War 60s, Russia staged a race between an American car and a Russian car.. The American car won easily.. Of course, the Russian media reported that the Russian car finished second, and the American car finished "next to last".....

---
Online headline:42% of Americans want Trump to forgive their student loan debt" -- Hmmm... guess that means that 58% want the 42% to be held accountable.. Wanna bet that the 42%  supported either Bernis or Hellary?

---
Online headline: "Turkey confiscates some 50 religious properties from Christian minority" -- Hmmm.. guess this pretty much justifies Hobby Lobby's CEO getting Christian relics out of the hands of Muslim run countries anyway he could.

---
From the "is that an ultimatum... PLEASE!" department - Online headline: "California to feds: Pay $18M fire debt or we'll watch it burn" -- Hmmm... promises, promises... Maybe California should adopt "Disco Inferno" as its mascot, and "Burn, Baby, Burn" as its state song..

---
Did you see the video of French President Macron weave through the congregation of world leaders in order to get to stand next to President Trump for the "group picture" at the G20 meeting? Wanna bet Macron would not have done so if Obama..or Hellary..had been there..

---
From the "mainscream media asks, how can we reort this negatively" department - Online story: "The U.S. economy added 222,000 jobs in June to surpass expectations, keeping the Federal Reserve on course as it steadily raises interest rates. *Job gains of 222,000 beat economists’ forecast for 179,000. * The labor force participation rate was 62.8%, up from 62.7% in May. Average hourly earnings grew 0.2% to $26.25 an hour." --  I guess mainsceam media will try to offset this with stories about how Poland's First Lady shook hands with Melania before President Trump...

---
222,000 new jobs...versus expectations of 179,000..will someone pass on to a last week's  LIV L-E "soundoffer" who complained about Trump's promise to deliver more and better jobs. Hey, buddy, get yourself better prepared for these jobs, then get off your duff and find one!

---
Don't you love all the protest signs in Germany condemning Trump...did you notice all of them are in English regardless of the primary language of the sign holders?

---
From the "trying to convince taxpayers that Council can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" department - L-E headline: "NAIA Swimming & Diving National Championships to stay in Columbus" -- Good grief.. taxpayers will have to endure another year of losses at the Aquacenter just to boost the egos of our elected officials? Excuse me, but the importance of the NAIA is not like having an NCAA event here..

---
From this AJC story about Josh McKoon running for Secretary of State: "McKoon has gained enemies among fellow lawmakers and statehouse lobbyists for his outspokenness on many issues, including Capitol ethics, and for pushing for more openness in how the General Assembly operates." -- Good grief.. anybody who "gained enemies among his fellow lawmakers" because of his stand on ethics and more openness DESERVES our votes and support!

---

L-E story: "A South Carolina inmate used wire cutters that were apparently dropped from a drone as part of an elaborate escape plan that also included cellphones smuggled into prison, guns and at least $47,000 in cash, authorities said Friday after his capture." -- He had $47,000.00? Hope that's confiscated and used to pay taxpayers back for the (_*_)'s legal expenses so far, and also deny him any thought of taxpayer funded defense in the futuire.

Pray more for Congressman Steve Scalise..since being shot, his condition is worsening at the moment.

---
I tell you what, with today's environment of tolerances and "gotchas", I don't think I'd blink an eye if it wee revealed that "Victoria's Secret" is that she was a "Victor"

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Poll: Most Americans think President Trump's dealings with Russia were unethical or illegal" -- Good grief.. according to HuffPOOPOO Polls, Hellary IS president..

---
From the "charity begins at your wallet" department - Online headline: "Mark Zuckerberg thinks universal basic income is a 'bipartisan idea' worth exploring in the US" -- Hmmm.. hey, 6uckerberg, lets' start by divvying up some of your $61.9 BILLION.. if you gifted all 300,000,000 in America..say $205.00 each, taht would come to $61.5 BILLION which would leave you with $400,000,000.00 "to get by on".

---
You know, why are silver brokers claiming silver is going to $200.00 an ounce, yet are "willing" to sell it to anybody who wants it for $16+/- per ounce?

---
Watching the German police turning water cannons on the crowds of protesters just basically was showering them off on a hot summer day. To be effective, police ought to fill their tanks with liquid manure..I imagine crowds would disperse pretty quickly

---
Following Volvo's announcement that it would be producing no gasoline burning cars beginning in 2019, France announced it would have a ban of all gasoline burning cars by 2040. Wonder if anyone ran the figures by the French budget preparer before making such a law.. France currently gets $3.07 in taxes  PER GALLON that would completely disappear.

---
Online headline: "Obama touts Paris accord despite 'temporary absence of US leadership'" -- Good grief.. will someone inform Obama that America finally HAS leadership after an 8-year vacuum...

---
Our District 29 State Senator, Josh McKoon, has announced he's running to be GA's next Secretary of State. It will be nice to have a Columbusite holding a state-wide elected office..having a Democratic Party mayor like Tom-LYING-son surely hasn't helped us.

---
L-E headline/story: "Sheriff Tompkins: Cut to inmate’s head not likely cause of death *  Five days after Feaginess Wood Jr. died after sustaining a head injury at the Muscogee County Jail, Sheriff Donna Tompkins said the superficial cut most likely didn’t cause Wood’s death." -- Good grief.. why do you call a press conference to announce, as Sgt Schultz would say to Hogan, "I know nothing".  The Sheriff should be better prepared before going public by KNOWING the cause of death.

---
L-E headline: "Strangers respond to traffic fatality by forming prayer circle around victim" -- Ecuse me, but why the secrecy of the driver's name and whether alcohol was an issue?

---
L-E headline: "N.Y. police look into motive for deadly ambush" -- "look into motive"? Good grief.. it was a hate crime that has been accelerated by the politics of the last administration.

---
From the "excuse me, your bias is showing" department - L-E headline: "On health legislation, Trump misses opportunities".. Has Congress even presented a healthcare bill to the President? No,, but, what's amiss is this headline, and why the L-E/McClatchy didn't use it to question OObamaCRAP during Obama's 2 terms in office.

---
L-E headline: "Chick-fil-A gives free entrée to those in proper bovine attire" -- Hmm.. you know, I remeber when Chick fil A announced it's new ad direction was going away from using the cows.. looks like Chick fil A may be moving away from the new advertising guru. Good mo-o-o-o-ve, Chick fil-A!

---
L-E story: "Muslim groups in Malaysia and Indonesia have called for a boycott of Starbucks because of the coffee chain’s support for LGBT rights." -- Hmmm.. and I would have thought the discovery of fecal matter in Starbuck's coffee would have taken priority for a boycott.. after all.. it could have been "hog s***"...

---
L-E headline: "How bad are things at the Government Center? Sign up for a public tour to see" -- Good grief.. why would the people in charge want to promote their own malfeasance in doing their jobs? Hope Council tours with them and hands out pink slips at the end of the tour.

---
Random Thought: Do you think any of the supporters of "Single Pay Healthcare" realize that they would be the "single payer" for their healthcare?

---
L-E headline: "Coming soon: Higher prices, food upgrades at AMC theaters here" -- You know, if AMC wants to keep our business, it will definitely need a menu change.. scrap the popcorn it now serves and go back to the formula used by Carmike.

---

A L-E story goes after the CEO of Hobby Lobby for getting Christian relics out of Iraq.. Let's face it.. Hobby Lobby's CEO should be praised for getting Christian relics out of the Mid-East.. we've seen to much utter disregard.. and criminal vandalism by Islamic terrorists to risk more Christian tenets being destroyed in the future.

Online story: "UNITED NATIONS, July 5 (Reuters) - The United States cautioned on Wednesday it was ready to use force if need be to stop North Korea's nuclear missile program but said it preferred global diplomatic action against Pyongyang for defying world powers by test launching a ballistic missile that could hit Alaska." -- You know, China has more reasons to be conscious of Kim Jong Oooops than the US does.. Beijing and Shanghai are only a little over 500 miles away from Pyongyang, and for that matter, Moscow is in reach if Alaska is...

---
Online story: "Vatican police broke up a drug-fueled gay orgy at the residence of a secretary to one of Pope Francis' key advisers, according to an Italian newspaper. * The apartment sat close to the city and belonged to the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the congregation designated to tackling clerical sexual abuse * the flat was allegedly home to Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio, an aid to the 80-year-old Pope. * The top priest was arrested, presumably on drugs charges, as gay sex is legal in Vatican City" --  I'm not sure about Vatican laws, but doesn't Catholic doctrine demand celibacy?

---
It's Bill Clinton's fault! It's his fault that N. Korea has ICBM technology...it's most likely that China provided the technology that Clinton wrongfully, perhaps treasonously, gave China.

---
Oh.. final results for the Chicago 4th of July holiday weekend is: 15 killed, and 88 wounded... 103 all total shot ,  Somebody needs to explain to the street thugs of Chicago  what Independence Day Fireworks means.

---
A CNN editorialist just compared..and negatively at that... Trump to Hugo Chavez... wait a minute, doesn't CNN idolize Chavez?

---
Online headline/story: "Lawsuit seeks to void Georgia congressional election results * The lawsuit was filed Monday in Fulton County Superior Court by the Colorado-based Coalition for Good Governance and voters who are members of the group. It seeks to overturn the results of the June 20 runoff election between Republican Karen Handel and Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District. Handel was declared the winner with 52 percent of the vote to Ossoff’s 48." --  Good grief.. What is it with Democrats? Didn't spending $35-$40 Million trying to buy the 6th GA District "learn" them anything? I guess not.. it looks like the Dems are going to pour more money "down the JON"...

---
We wondered why Ossoff could run in GA District 6 when he didn't live in it, but Maxine Waters, D-CA, doesn't live in the District she's "represented" for about 40 years..To boot, the District she represents is hugely black, yet the District where her $4.3 MILLION dollar home is has only 6% black population. Somethings "right" are just not right...

---
Online headline/story: "New York City cop 'assassinated' in the Bronx * A New York cop was "assassinated" while sitting in her marked patrol car early Wednesday in what NYPD commissioner James O'Neill called an "unprovoked attack." -- If there will be one main aspect to define Obama's "legacy", it will be the number of police officers callously  assassinated.

---
Online headline/story: "Clash looms as Puerto Rico prepares to send reps to Washington, after statehood vote * Congress has not formally recognized Puerto Rico’s vote for statehood, but that isn’t stopping the territory’s political leaders from gearing up for a Capitol Hill clash with plans to dispatch representatives to Washington.  * Gov. Ricardo Rosselló on Monday began naming those representatives – a list that eventually will include two senators and five congressmen – with the intent of seating them in Congress." -- Hmmm.. isn't this sorta like putting the "horse before the cart"... only in this case, it's putting "jackasses before the cart".

---
A fellow legal-eagle BCer made this comment following the recent release of 2017/18 property assessments/taxes by the City: "City said they were reassessing every parcel in town in 2017. No way to physically do that without drive-by estimates. Across the board changes are acceptable, apparently, under the freeze. Follow closely." -- Technically.. the City will be avle to use "drive-by" assessments  due to the new computer software and services it's purchased..Sadly, this is going to really "tax" everybody... and a lot of people "twice".. Prior Board of Assessors positions have been that the Board is not empowered to lower property taxes on appeal. and that the homeowners will have to "lawyer up".. which also means the City will "lawyer up" in return.. so anybody appealing through the court system will be paying lawyers on both sides.

And you thought Mayor Tom-LYING-son stuck us with big legal fees for her friends for the lawsuits Countryman and Bishop brought...

---
You know..Democrats insist that 10s of millions of Americans will lose their healthcare if OObamaCRAP is repealed. I'd love for any Democrat to explain what the out of pocket costs and deductibles these 10s of millions pay for their insurance.

---
There was a lot of consternation during the Superior Court Clerks race last year about the address of Ann Hardman.. does anyone actually know where she lives? According to her "State of Georgia Personal Financial Disclosure Statement" (http://columbusga.org/elections/Disclosures/AnnHardmanPFD062217.pdf) filed last month, her address is the same one that has a H1 exemption for another couple in the new tax database..

---
From the "did you really think otherwise" department - Since it's Democrats who are always complaining about voting registration suppression, why is it that the Democrats are the only people fighting against establishing the  integrity of the voting lists?

---
One Democrat spinmeister on Fox said more people are struck by lightning than vote fraudulently.   Of course, Democrats quickly get those struck by lightning immediately registered to vote.

---

Random thought: I am opinionated.. always have been.. I do research, and observe all around me, and make decisions accordingly.. but.. I don't base my decisions on whether they are "Right or Wrong".. I weigh what I know and have learned, and try to come up with a "GOOD" decision based on that info.. this way, when someone has a differing opinion, and is willing to discuss his/her views in a civil.. factful.. manner, I can add or change the overall info I based my opinion on. Good discussions either alter my previous position, or...in  most cases, digesting new info merely strengthens my previous convictions.. and I can help another with a softening or firming of his.her opinion..
