The Democrats are not only disengaged with the needs of America, they are desperate heading into 2020... Dems are floating the name of Kamala Harris as potential presidential candidate.. She's the Junior Senator from California, and at this time she has a total 6 months (and 3 days) of being trained by UpChuck Schumer to be an obstructionist. What Democrats don't understand is that America needs LEADership... not another "lead balloon".

---
When was the last time you saw your print newspaper with a headline about the stock-markets being at record levels... and employment seekers growing in numbers? Oh.. didn't know that .. huh.. not surprising.

---
I do not want to sound callous, as I am not... an 11 year old girl was viciously killed in New Jersey..and there has been an arrest of an 18 year old in the same apartment complex, but that's not the focus of my observation.. there's an effort to bring the girl's father back from Jamaica before his daughter is buried.. according to the story, he was deported to Jamaica in 2001.. excuse me, but either the date reported is a typo, or he's not the girl's father...

---
Once again libs are trying to make a mockery out of the2016 election results by claiming Hellary had 3,000,000 more votes than Trump.. The trouble is that though Hellary had 3.9 million more votes in California. Trump not only won 30 states, but Trump had the majority of votes in the other 49 states that aren't California. Hellary's win by 3.9 million in California only proves one thing... that it's possible.. no, probable.. that flakes like Moonbeam Jerry Brown, and "the Arnold", and Maxine Waters/Pelosi/Feinstein can win elections.

---
There's one of those liberal polls saying most Americans "fear" a war with Korea... goof grief.. Korea won't be able to get a missile across its Eastern border without it being shot down by us, and about 5 "MOAB" bombs dropped from higher that Korea has the capacity to shoot down will obliterate Kim Jong Oooops' world.

---
Online headline: "Al Gore: I thought Trump 'would come to his senses, but I was wrong’" -- Good grief.. Algore has always been "wrong".. from the gitgo of his public life, Algore was WRONG for America... in every way.

---
Online headline: "Wells Fargo to close 450 branches" -- On a local issue.. now that Columbus Bank and Trust  is dropping its "forever" name and being relabeled "Synovus",  will closing some.. maybe most, of its local branches be far behind, too?

---
Oh, one thing that I learned.. it's been a while since I bought a breakfast biscuit at McDonald's. I usually buy those at Burger King because the sausage is better and the price is less .. When in Waco, we had no close BK so we grabbed a breakfast at a McDonald's. I had suspected that BK has been reducing the size of its biscuits but my suspicions were confirmed compared to the McDonald's biscuit.. at least in Texas.. I plan to test out local offerings this week and will report later.

---
You know.. liberals don't want to talk about our Constitution unless they are looking at ways to change it to suit their own egos and agenda.

---
L-E headline: "Republicans aid Trump effort to legalize politics in the pulpit" -- Hmmm.. I guess it is about time that Republicans do what Democrats have been doing all along...

---
Fraud? There's one of those fresh food by mail companies advertising it only costs "$10.00 a meal". Maybe a portion, but claiming that you can have a family meal for $10.00 is a bit too much for the FCC not to put a stop to that ad.

---
You know, when liberal polls expound on Trump's popularity of being presidential are the lowest/worst numbers ever, it's really because liberals don't have an example among themselves who knows/knew how to.be a successful president.

---
Online headline" (GA) DOT announces 2nd continuous flow intersection in state" -- Hmmm.. just shows how out of contact Columbus' Democrat Mayor Tom-LYING-son has been.. she's still bragging/advocating about roundabouts.

Online story: "MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Donald Trump Jr. is scheduled to visit Montgomery for an Oct. 5 speaking engagement at the Faulkner University Benefit Dinner. * University President Mike Williams tells Al.com (http://bit.ly/2oZpnat ) that Trump will speak at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center during the university's annual dinner to raise money for student scholarships. * For more information visit www.Faulkner.edu/Trump ." -- Just in case we don't hear about this opportunity in the L-E...

From the "suspicions confirmed" department - Online headline/story: "First statewide bicycle tax in nation leaves bike-crazy Oregon riders deflated *  Democratic Gov. Kate Brown is expected to sign the sweeping $5.3 billion transportation package, which includes a $15 excise tax on the sale of bicycles costing more than $200 with a wheel diameter of at least 26 inches. * The bike tax is aimed at raising $1.2 million per year in order to improve and expand paths and trails for bicyclists and pedestrians." -- Good grief.. even when bicyclists are the beneficiaries of their mandated contributions, they feel it is unfair.. and we wonder how the Republican Party has become moderate..

Online headline/story: "Vigilante pothole team brings relief to California drivers but draws ire of county officials * Months after heavy rains ravaged roads and bridges in Northern California, officials in Santa Cruz County say it could still take more than a year to repair all the damage, especially in the mountains that are home to several thousand residents.  * That's too long for the Santa Cruz Vigilante Pothole Brigade, a group of intrepid locals who've raised money and manpower to do the job themselves. * The brigade is comprised of moms and dads, firefighters, entrepreneurs and fearless do-it-yourselfers fed up with tire-popping potholes – and a county public works agency telling them to just be patient *  Using their own pickup trucks, they back over the repair job several times, smoothing the patch with their tires. Each job takes about five minutes. * But Mcvoy said he and his band of road warriors will continue to pave over problems and help their community – whether the government approves the group or not. " -- Columbus.. it's about time we took back our roads! We could organize the "Red McDaniel Brigade"!

Online story: "So much for the plea he can't find a job.. I also suggest he get more tattooing so that it looks like he has a full beard...

Online headline: "Jane Sanders cries sexism in bank-fraud accusations as GOP hits back" -- Wait a minute.. how can a Socialist's wife complain about "sexism"? Isn't it the backbone of the Socialist agenda that males/females are equal?

Online story: "Georgia is ranked the No. 2 state for business in CNBC's annual "America’s Top States for Business" ranking, published Tuesday. * That's a big jump from last year. In 2016 Georgia slipped to No. 8 on CNBC's list. *  "Georgia takes the No. 2 slot this year in America's Top States for Business rankings," CNBC said. "The Peach State finished with [a score of] 1,616, rising six spots this year due in part to its economy — the best in the nation, according to our study — boasting solid state finances and solid growth. The state also finishes near the top for Workforce (No. 3) and Infrastructure (No. 4). *  CNBC's ranking is not all peachy for Georgia, though. "However, there is room for improvement in the categories of Education," CNBC said, "where it holds steady at No. 33, due to low test scores and spending; and Quality of Life, where it comes in at the bottom half of the category, at No. 28. Georgia is consistently adding jobs, but recovery has been difficult for the state." -- Hmmm.. looks like GA would have come out on top had Columbus figures been better.. but when a community decides it's locked into the past by supporting Hellary and Tom-LYING-son, you get what you get..

From the "how come this isn't front page news" department - L-E story: "Housing starts climbed 8.3 percent over June a year ago to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.22 million, the Commerce Department said Wednesday. Home construction has risen 3.9 percent year-to-date. *  So far this year, builders have turned their attention toward single-family houses. Starts of single-family houses have risen 7.9 percent, while construction of multi-family buildings has slipped 4.2 percent" -- Hmmm.. a sure sign of consumer.. AND banking industry confidence, and our L-E posts it on the outside of page 4B.. one of the worst placements a newspaper can place a story..  Go, Trump!

L-E story: "One month into a three-month task, the Alternative Education Community Advisory Committee for the Muscogee County School Board has released a progress report *  “Our team is looking at the entire alternative education system in the school district, acknowledging gaps in its administration, and providing the school board recommendations to resolve those issues. By doing so, we believe that many of the challenges faced are fixed. Remaining issues are addressed by capabilities that are already present in the school district.” --  Columbus, GA is fortunate.. not only to have Tollie Strode in our community, but having Tollie Strode step up to the plate and be involved with this and other community issues.
