7 – “White Irish immigrants were also enslaved * Irish immigrants experienced brutal conditions as indentured servants, but they were never chattel slaves.” --  A rose by any name is still a rose..
8 – “Lincoln fought the Civil War solely to end slavery” * Emancipation was ultimately adopted as a vital wartime measure to cripple the Confederate economy. The primary goal was national preservation, not racial equality.” – But Lincoln knew here could not be full unity with split values.
