Well, considering the 2025 FBI report, based on 2023 statistics, GA was the 9th worst state for “murders per 100,000 people.. GA’s number was 8.3 murders per 100,000..(The worst state in the report is Louisiana with 22.2 murders per 100,000) Based on Columbus GA’s 200,00 +/- population, if we were average for a GA area, we’d have had about 16.6 murders in our town.. I’m not sure I can pinpoint a year that our murder number was ever this low (proportionately).. in fact, I can remember in the 2020’s when we had over 36 murders PER 100,000 one year. I just can’t believe Mayor Skippy the POOPOO tells us with a smile.
