Online headline: "Trump has shaken up decades of diplomacy with 4 phone calls" -- Good grief.. mainscream media praised Obama for saying he would sit down with jihadist leaders without any preset protocol, and mainscream media swooned at Obama's "Apology Tour" and terrorist releases from GITMO, and now it's shocked at anything Trump does to re-establish America as a world leader.. ..gimmee us break!

---
I guess we're just going to have to get use to it.. "It" being that the mainscream media, after blindly supporting 8 years of Obama lies and ineffective leadership, and after holding-its-nose support of nearly 25 years of Hellary's lies and scandals, is going to nitpick Trump's every word, every choice, and every move in Making America Great Again.

Update on the minimum wage imposed in Washington State : Effective January 1, 2017, the state minimum wage goes to 11:00, and various cities will demand their minimum wage be between $15.00 and $15.24.  Sounds great ...until you read that Washington State is the worst state to live for young people.. Washington has one of the highest populations of 20-24-year olds, and is the 4th worse state in employment of young people. Nobody is hiring young people at $15,.00 a hour!

About Columbus Mayor TomLYINGson wanting to spend $20,000.00 in "matching" funds on the T-SPLOST project to landscape TSYS's property where the Mott House unexpectedly burned down.. As we reread the T-SPLOST referendum, there is indeed a "discretionary" fund.
 It Reads:
25 percent are designated as discretionary funds and will be used for local projects chosen by each city and county government in the region. Cities and counties will receive these extra funds in direct proportion to their population and the number of road miles in their jurisdiction.  Columbus is projected to receive approximately $30 million in TSPLOST discretionary funds over the next ten years.
Hmmm... other than we must demand that our legislative delegation make sure no "discretionary funds" provisions are inserted into any future T-SPLOSTs (as is the case with regular SPLOST referendums), what's abundantly clear is that Mayor TomLYINGson has requested such. THis is how we got the Queen TT Lounge as well.. Guess Mayor TomLYINGson not only has "peed" on us, she's making sure she has a pretty site/sight to look at while she does it.

---
Part 2 of the above item: Since there will be approximately $30,000,000.. dollars earmarked for Columbus projects, and we get back only 85-cents per dollar in tax we pay, that $30,000,000.00 will actually cost us OVER $35,290,000.00... plus... PLUS additional matching 20% funds of $6,000,000.00.. So, in  order to GET BACK our $30,000,000.00 portion from the GA DOT, we will pay over $41,000.00 in taxes/matching funds. Wow.. without inflation, that's about 169 $244,000.00 Queen TT Lounges, or 412 $100,000.00 TSYS landscaping deals.

Something went wrong on Saturday's BC edition and this story did not make it into the e-mail edition.

L-E headline/story: "Charges dropped after man spends 35 years in prison * Thirty-five years after he was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for (armed with a gun) rape, aggravated sodomy and burglary, P*** J**** T**** is a free man. * The Georgia Court of Appeals overturned his convictions Nov. 20, 2015, ruling T**** deserved a new trial because the late Judge John Land had erred in denying T****’s request to have an attorney resume his defense after trying to represent himself. * Now T**** no longer faces prosecution for what authorities charged was a series of violent sexual assaults against Columbus women whose homes he broke into over eight months in 1980 and 1981. * It was during the trial’s conclusion that Land made crucial errors * prosecutors informed the judge they had decided to dead-docket the charges. * T**** more recently has been represented by Columbus attorney S***** J******, who said Friday that retrying the case would have been difficult for both the prosecution and defense." -- Good grief.. a known violent criminal with and additional 35 years spent in emotional upheaval is back on the streets because of the "error" of a judge who is dead and cannot speak out, because our DA's office decided that "the case would have been difficult". Well, what is justice when there is no justice for the victim's families or the community of Columbus. Will someone of integrity with a legal education step up and run for the DA's spot in the next election!

L-E Headline/story: "2016 COLLEGE AND CAREER READY PERFORMANCE INDEX * Here’s how each Muscogee County school scored * Nearly two-thirds of the Muscogee County School District’s schools improved on the state’s performance index during the past year. * Comparing the 2016 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) to the 2015 results, 33 of MCSD’s 53 schools (62 percent) increased their scores." --What a flawed test.. how can one school score greater than 100% *(Columbus High School with 102.4) unless.. unless the scores are graded on "a curve) which skews the bottom scores higher than they should be to lessen the true image of how bad they are actually doing. You know, the real sad part of this story is the elementary section.. so goes the elementary section and so goes the future.. If children aren't reading at a proper 3rd grade level when they are in the 3rd grade, their chances of improving in the future has been stunted. To be really aware of the situation, you really have to parse the Columbus High report.. Even in a great school, the 2015 98& score was high, so when in jumps 4 percentile points to eclipse 100%, there has been a "dumbing down" process in the overall testing materials.. subtract that 4-percentile points from all the other schools "scores" and you get a better picture of the truth.. which, of course, is not the purpose of this newspaper story.

From the bottom-of-the-barrel-scum-level of LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Four years from now, when we’re choking from polluted air and women are dying from back-alley abortions, some will say, “But I couldn’t vote for a candidate with a private e-mail server.” -- Chicken Little's claims of "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" are better rooted in reality than this LIV's analysis of the future.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Congratulations, America — we’ll soon have a First Lady who has posed nude in a thong, and all the “good Christians” think that’s just fine!" -- Obviously written by someone born with fig leaves in place....

---
I put Evolutionists in a low-IQ group.. they can add 1+1 and get an answer of 2 but they haven't been able to "proof" it. Where are the still-in-transition specimens and mutations?

---
Random thought: If there is so much concern about humane executions, why not go back to the certainty and speed of a firing squad.. or try a guillotine.. of course, cyanide acts quickly and thoroughly as well.

---
Another random thought.. on a pure local basis: Remember when AFLAC and TSYS co-ventured in creating a CSU class/curriculum in computer programming at CSU to fill the void of graduates being able to fill the needs those two companies had... Is it still ongoing?

---
L-E headline: "U.S. to add 200 troops to help assault on Raqqa" -- Good grief.. whatta Chritmas present to the soldiers and their families... and a futile one at that..

---
L-E story: "Columbus Council Agenda:
"RESOLUTIONS - Commending and congratulating Jordan Vocational High School automotive program for reaching the finals in the Quaker State Best in Class Challenge. (Councilor Thomas)" -- "reaching the finals"? THEY WON! and like Obama, Council COULD have read about this in the paper!

---
Another Council Agenda item: "Theresa El-Amin, representing Southern Anti-Racism Network: Sept. 13, 2016 Public Comment Follow-Up." -- If there's anyone up on racism, Theresa E--Amin is certainly qualified to represent it. Now Council needs to have someone to off set her on the positive side.

---
Another questionable Council Agenda item: "It is requested that council approve payment to Ledger-Enquirer (Macon) for legal advertising expenses, required for tax sales, in the amount of $15,990." -- Hmm.. Aside that the Columbus L-E is now officially a Macon entity.. but what advertising is this about?  I don't remember any tax issues except the THAW on property tax freezes that Mayor TomLYINGson tried to ram through.

---
An even more questionable Council Agenda item: "Tire Leasing Services for City Buses (Annual Contract) – Provide tire leasing services for City buses to the Columbus Consolidated Government Department of Transportation/ Metra Transit System, on an “as-needed” basis." -- Good grief.. at what advantage is "leasing tires" to the taxpayers?

---
L-E headline: "Obama rushes to Trump-proof his legacy" -- Good grief.. if there was any merit to Obama's "legacy", no one could undermine it, much less override it. The only true legacy is what people remember is good... or bad.. Nothing will erase OObamaCRAP or Obama's release of terrorists from GITMO..

---
While Air Force One has some technical improvements over AirTRUMP One, and AirTRUMP oNe does not have a missile defense system (that we know about, Trump does know about costs. You can bet AirTRUMP One is not lacking in communication needs nor luxuries, but he built his for $100,000,000.  Other than the costs of needed defense systems, Boeing has got "to show him the facts" that boost costs up into the Mulit-BILLIONS area.

---
Local issue...have you seen that Zoe Pediatrics TV ad? Undoubtedly, it is worse than the Hussey Tire Jungle ads of the 60's.

---
Online headline/story: "Top tech executives to attend Trump summit on Wednesday * Top executives from Alphabet Inc, Apple Inc and Facebook Inc are among a small group of tech leaders invited to a summit to be held on Wednesday * Executives from Microsoft Corp, Intel Corp and Oracle Corp will also be among "a very heady group of less than a dozen * "I plan to tell the president-elect that we are with him and are here to help in any way we can," Oracle Chief Executive Officer Safra Catz told Reuters in an emailed statement. * "If he can reform the tax code, reduce regulation, and negotiate better trade deals, the U.S. technology community will be stronger and more competitive than ever." -- Hmmm... Hellary who?

---
Online headline: "An Arizona college is charging students a FEE to pay for a scholarship for illegal immigrants. " -- Even worse is that GA universities, CSU included, are charging an athletic fee" which gives scholarships to other parents children. It's tough enough to either pay your own way (work/loans) or for parents to pay for heir own children, but it's a damn shame that the education system tacks on tuition/board&keep/books of other students. Write your Congressperson!

---
Random thought: You know, if Jill Stein was really trying to expose voting irregularities, she should have filed suits in Chicago and Los Angeles to scrutinize each voter for citizenship and for death certificates.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Book claims to reveal to he "Worst President".  Ever"--- Oooops my bad.. reading the liberal headline, I just figured it was about Trump even though he hasn't been sworn in as yet. FTR.. Buchanan..

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Critical concern could get worse under Trump" -- "could"? With mainscream media, it's guaranteed!

---
From the "why is it now a controversy" department - Online headline: "2-Word name of this bow raised eyebrows this year * Melania had everyone talking with the timing of her "pussy bow" in October..and it's just one election style moment that got attention this year" -- Good grief.. "pussy bow" has been a fashion term since the 1800s! From Wikipedia: "While bows at the neck had been worn since at least the 19th century, the term "pussy bow" or "pussy cat bow" took hold in the 20th century. In 1934, the St. Petersburg Times offered a pattern for an Anne Adams dress featuring a convertible collar which could be worn in four different ways, including as "an intriguingly feminine pussy cat bow tied high under your chin."[2] In 1947, pussy cat bows were part of the look inspired by Gibson Girls and 1890s fashionscreated by designers such as Omar Kiam.[3] * By the 1960s, pussy bows were a fixture in American fashion having been incorporated by top designers like Coco Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent.

Online headline: "Islamic State militants retake ancient city of Palmyra" -- Hey, Obama.. guess
the varsity" wants to make sue you get a better send-off!

---
L-E headline/story: "CRIMINAL JUSTICE * Judges use accountability courts as alternative to jail * “We spend about $50,000 a year to keep someone in prison,”" -- $50,000.00 a year per prisoner...
hmmm... considering that the Sheriff's Office is responsible for the care of about 1,000 prisoners daily, then the Sheriff's Office should be getting $50,000,000.00 A YEAR!  This means either that that the mayor's budget of a couple of million is woefully short and John Darr was right to sue, or the figures of $50,000.00 per prisoner is awfully wrong and needs to be adjusted if we are to continue discussing alternative sentencing. Of course, we can also wait until January 21st and see how much saving we're gonna get when Trump rips through the regulations liberals have imposed on the jail and other industries/services.

A few weeks ago, driving by River Road School. I noticed a concrete ramp being installed in a zig-zag design connecting the playground level with a landing on the steps leading down..I figured it had to do with some sort of regulation imposed by the Obama administration.. . Now. it is finished.. and I can only see waste and inefficiency.. the ramp connects the ground area to a landing midway up the steps.. how do handicapped/wheelchair users benefit since they must still traverse steps to get to-from the School Level and the ]landing where the ramp begins/ends?

---
L-E headline/story: "Bipartisan group of senators seeks election inquiry *  Displaying rare bipartisanship, four leading senators from both Republican and Democratic parties called Sunday for an urgent inquiry into allegations of Russian meddling in the U.S. election." -- Good grief.. what is bipartisan about MCCain and Graham.. considering them Republicans at all is not only a misnomer, but heresy! Of Course it does confirm my  earlier stated observation.. that..

---

L-E guest commentary headline: "Secretary of State: What’s at stake? * One of the more intriguing cabinet positions is Secretary of State. Currently, 68 people have served in this position whose chief responsibility is to promote diplomacy and goodwill abroad." -- Good grief.. it's about time we got a "MAN" in the job.. we've been saddled with a muppet and a liar for the last 8 years!

Random thought: You know, one of the biggest differences in the Trump transition period is the complaints...with Trump appointments, even the process of his choices, it's liberal/Rino politicians and mainscream media that are complaining.. when Obama was doing the same, it was the American people.

---
From a fellow BCer.. Obama in a nutshell:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Every Columbus taxpayer needs to understand that the revenue Columbus gets from the T-SPLOST tax costs us more than if it was raised by the LOST or SPLOST tax or came out of the City budget. Columbus only gets 85 cents for each $1.00 in taxes we pay. In other words, when the GA DOT pays $80K and we "match" with $20K, we are really paying closer to $115,000.00 tax wise. Sorta like the City Manager buying a $24,000.00 car and adding $3,200.00 worth of add-ons like alloy wheels and deluxe sound system.

---
Hellary now is blaming "fake news" for the ills of the (and her) world... interesting, since it was REAL news about the "fake" her that caused her defeat in the election.

---
Remember what I said about the Clintons buying the home next to theirs in Chappaqua? I called it "Bill's dog house"... I guess it will come in REAL handy now that Hellary will  be home every night...

---
Obviously, Jill Stein is not a "Black Panther"... hmmm.. maybe a "white Cougar"?

------------------------------------------------------------------
case would have been difficult for both the prosecution and defense

---
Super-low-informed-voter's L-E "soundoff": "Rumor has it: The Donalds’s nominee for Treasury Secretary is going to do away with the mortgage interest tax exemption. That is going to hurt this middle income homeowner, and I expect, millions like me." -- Good grief.. there is "talk" about changing the personal exemptions on taxes to $15,000 ($30,000.00 for married couples) which would make it easier for more families to file taxes without itemizing their deductions, and this under informed "analyst" doesn't realize that he/she would still have the choice to itemize his mortgage interest on his/her taxes if it was of more benefit to him/her. Chances are the writer already takes his 1040-EZ forms to a tax prepare as it is.

---
L-E headline: "Obama orders review of Russia’s role in election" -- Good grief.. Obama just cannot get over his narcissism.. Besides, combined  Hellary's scandals and lies, voters just didn't want nor could ill afford a third term based on Obamaism.. Sadder is that even IF the Russians could hack into all our security, isn't that Obama's fault for appointing hacks to offices that could do something to prevent such, and for firing competent military officers who disagreed with his policies?

---

L-E headline: "CHARLESTON CHURCH SLAYINGS * Roof laughed during confession to FBI" -- "laughed"? While it certainly is vile, and the defense of a tortured mind and soul, how come mainscream media wasn't this concerned over "Black Lives Matter" verbal encouragement to randomly.. intentionally kill police officers?

Friday, December 9, 2016

Online headline: "Consumers, businesses, and CEOs are all loving life since Trump's election — and that's great news for the economy" -- Hmm.. The "little people's" outlook has improve so much that rumor has it that the American voters are urging Trump to replace "Hail to the Chief" with a song from "The Wizard of OZ"... ""Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead".

Speaking of "dead witches". Harry Reid is gone as well.

---
From the "contradictory liberal intents versus reality "department: HuiffPOOPOO story: "Many travelers who left “love locks” on Paris’ Pont des Arts were disheartened to learn last year that officials were banning the trend and removing the mementos from the bridge. But leave it to the City of Light (and love) to come up with a heartwarming way to honor the hundreds of thousands of locks left over the years. * Paris plans to auction off some of the locks and donate the proceeds to refugees, city officials have announced. * All of the proceeds will be given to those who work in support and in solidarity of the refugees in Paris." -- Good grief.. only a liberal could equate the expression of love being desecrated and given to potential terrorists as a sincere expression of passing love around.

---
HuffPOOPOO "headLIE": "Pope Francis: Refugees are our Brothers and Sisters" -- Yeah.. and the Menedez brothers are orphans! I have a problem with welcoming refugees as "brothers and sisters" that have possible terrorist intent into our country who have the intent of "fratricide and sororicide".

---
From the "liberals failed concept of reality" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Mexican Children’s U.S. Dance Trip Cancelled Over Post-Election Fears *  “We know we can tell them things are safe here,” Bod Wenzlau (Grupo Folklorico's president) said. But in their view, sending the kids to anywhere in the U.S. in this climate could still be risky." -- Good grief...other than Chicago, being in America is safer than being  anywhere in Mexico!

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: " Trump Only Getting One Intelligence Briefing Per Week, U.S. Officials Say" -- Well, Trump's "one up" on Obama already.. who can claim any reports Obama got from the hacks he appointed had any intelligence to report?

---
Online headline: "Supreme Court executes Alabama inmate after two court-ordered delays" -- Ooops, my bad.. thought the judges had marched the (_*_)s straight out of the courthouse to the nearest tree and strung them up for the public to see.. Well,, we can dream, can't we?

Online headline: "Workers and unions condemn Trump after brutal tweet criticizing Carrier union president by name* -- You know, I'm pretty well tired of the union (_*_) in Indiana harping about the number of jobs Trump "saved". He was about to lose ALL of them..in fact, why had the union members even kept the (_*_) as their representative after Carrier first announced its plans?

---
Some Rinos who made it back to Congress are feeling their oats...they're even talking about how they can undermine Trump's campaign promises about companies leaving America being taxed. I can see Trump campaigning in two years during the Republican primaries. telling voters to say to them, "You're Fired!".

---
Thinking further about our Aquatic Center's plan to have a showing of "Frozen" with children on floats in a pool with lights darkened so the children can see the screen is alarming...at a minimum...young children are always "at risk" swimming without a parent closely observing them, even in bright sunshine, but our Aquatic Center is basically telling parents the City will watch them "free" and in a darkened facility..can you not see DISASTER staring the City in the face?

---
It's amazing.. our Columbus "Fund Balance" is at a 10 year low, and now Mayor TomLYINGson wants to dip another $20,000.00 out of it to pay for "our share" of a GA DOT project that enhances the TSYS property.. Don't even try to say it's not coming from the Fund Balance.. there's not a loose/unspoken for dollar in the current budget that can be used to pay for it from expected revenues.

---
L-E headline: "Local districts net highest CCRPI scores" -- This report.. and the L-E's recap of it just remind us of the time-proven adage.. "Figures don't lie, but liars figure a lot." Just look at the Chattahoochee County figures.. then recall earlier this week that the State is starting a "College and Career Academy " with the "mission" to "prepare students for the workforce".  Primarily because some politicians have noticed that the schools have failed with their primary purpose... and goals.

---
Have you noticed the real difference between Kellyanne Conway and Obama's past and present White House Press agents? We don't shake our heads while muttering "LIAR" under our breath while she answers questions.

---
L-E "soundoff": "God has a sense of humor. Be careful when you berate women, gays, the poor, the elderly, the homeless and disabled veterans. He may enact reincarnation and you are in a lot of trouble." -- God grief.. how little liberals know about God.. God does not "reincarnate" when Christians die..He "elevates" and "eternalizes" us.

---
Dyslexic LIV's L-E "soundoff": "What else can citizens say except thank you Councilor Glenn Davis? A true statesman who puts the welfare of Columbus ahead of himself." -- From recent positions on "thawing the freeze", building a disastrous "roundabout", and "Casino", I think the "soundoff" writer meant that Davis is concerned about putting Columbus taxpayers ON welfare.

---
L-E story: "Arkansas’ highest court on Thursday threw out a judge’s ruling that could have allowed married same-sex couples to get the names of both spouses on their children’s birth certificates without a court order, saying it doesn’t violate equal protection “to acknowledge basic biological truths.” -- Good grief.. what parents would want what could be vital information to be left off their child's birth certificate! In today's world, not knowing who the biological parents are is tantamount to aiding and abetting a possible death.

---
L-E headline: "Trump picks labor secretary, heads west to meet OSU victims" -- "heads west to meet OSU victims"  Hmm.. maybe mainscream media will learn the difference between Obama "acting" presidential, and Trump "BEING" presidential.

---
L-E headline: "U.S. life expectancy falls slightly" -- Hmm.. another "tribute" to the advocacy of  OObamaCRAP...

---
L-E Editorial headline: "EDITORIAL * Lean reserve bodes ill for city * BY DUSTY NIX" -- Wow.. another benefit of electing Trump! Sobriety is returning to liberal media.. Now, where was the L-E when it endorsed, Hellary, when it endorsed Mayor TomLYINGson and her follies, when it endorsed the sitting MCSB members in their re-election bids, when it endorsed the "THAW", and its  continued endorsement of the MCSD projects and failures? Now, where is the L-E on Mayor TomLYINGson dipping $20,000.00 deeper into the Fund Balance to landscape the "plaza" at TSYS?

---

L-E headline: "No 1. Alabama sweeps AP All-SEC" -- Good grief..I'd have named all the Alabama starters as 1st Team, and all the Alabama second string as runners-up.. then let the rest of the SEC, fight it out for "honorable mention".. There would be one exception.. at second team quarterback.. how do you deny Mississippi State's Nick Fitzgerald...

Thursday, December 8, 2016

From the "are all CNN 'reporters' this stupid" department - Online story: "CNN's Fareed Zakaria approached White House staffers several months ago to propose a documentary assessing the president's legacy * Zakaria sat down with the president in September for a two-hour interview that touched on everything from ISIS to Obamacare. * Zakaria said that Obama is "very aware of history and the way in which history is shaped, the way in which people are remembered" and will go down as "one of the most intellectually-minded presidents" we've ever had. * "The most important thing about Barack Obama is not what he did, but who he was. The first African-American president in a country that had slavery," Zakaria said. "That historical dimension to his presidency will always endure." -- Hmmm..."The most important thing about Barack Obama is not what he did, but who he was. The first African-American president in a country that had slavery"? Good grief.. The most important this is "who he was"... the first African-American president in a country that had slavery? Wait a minute.. NO OTHER COUNTRY will ever HAVE any kind of 'American' as its president, and if Obama was the president of another country, no one would ever refer to him as an "hyphen" citizen.. Was Nelson Mandela ever referred to as an "African-South African"?

---
L-E headline/story: "City’s fund balance well below 60-day threshold * The city’s fund balance has steadily eroded from its 10-year high of 132 days in 2007 to a low of 55.2 days in fiscal 2014, then for the first time since the Great Recession began, the city added a bit back to the reserves, going up to 56.1 last fiscal year before dropping back down to the current 54.5 days." -- "dropping back down to the current 54.5 days"? Wait a minute.. Hmmm.... there was specific mention that the current budget did not plan the use of the "Fund Balance" to "balance" TomLYINGson's new budget, so how can this happen?

---
Today is December 8th.... 75 years ago, my parents-to-be changed their wedding date from June of 1942 to January 10th, 1942 so my they could get married before he reported for active duty after he enlisted following the bombing of Pearl Harbor.  God bless the USA!

---
Dems are harassing their own Senators Manchin and Heitkamp not to take positions in the Trump administration, and Pelosi calls Dr Ben Carson unqualified. Now......which is the party of inclusion and oneness?

---
Online headline: "Donald Trump named TIME Person of the Year" -- Hmmm was there any... could there be any doubt... unless, of course you considered Hellary.. for blowing the biggest lead since Greg Norman in the final round of the 1996 Masters.

---
How snarkey CAN Time Magazine get..on it's cover story naming Trump "Person of the Year", it adds "President of the Divided States". Let's be clear, first, Trump is "only" the president-elect..secondly, Trump won 60% of the states..thirdly, and on the other hand...the Time magazine assertion of we being the "Divided States" does fit the scenario of what we had become under the current sitting president.

---
Soapbox moment: While we will get behind our new Sheriff if she can pull off operating within the budget her puppetmaster, Mayor TomLYINGson, says is enough, how costly will litigation be if she cannot do so?.. That, my friends is the rest of the story.. and a potential "budget buster" of enormous proportions...

---
Extra-Super-Low-Information-Voter's L-E "soundoff": "Did you know Pope Francis and Denzel Washington endorsed Trump? Not so. Some examples of “fake news” on Facebook, provided by Russians and others. Trust only reliable news sources: NY Times, Washington Post, Ledger-Enquirer." -- Hmmm.. my first reaction is that this "soundoff" was one from Dusty Nix at the L-E (and I'm probably close if not dead-on-the-money). but .. really.. how do we distinguish "fake stories" from real ones when you read where Nancy Pelosi actually said that neurosurgeon Dr Ben Carson isn't "qualified" for a government position?
---
L-E story: "Enjoy the movie “Frozen” at the Columbus Aquatic Center 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Bring your own towel and float to watch the movie on the big screen. There is no cost. Concessions will be available for purchase. The Aquatic Center is located at 1603 Midtown Dr." -- Is there any wonder why the Aquatic Center cannot meet a make/break even budget? Children will be dropped off for "free baby-sitting" and  the Center will have a logistical..and costly.. headache of tending to them for 3-hours at increased costs to the taxpayers.
---
From the L-E's "ON THIS DATE" feature: "In 1980, rock star John Lennon was shot to death outside his New York City apartment building by an apparently deranged fan." -- "apparently deranged fan"? You know.. after 36 years, you'd think authorities would have DETERMINED for sure whether or not the (_*_) was "deranged" or not..
---
L-E story: "Law enforcement authorities are searching for a gunman after a Wednesday morning shooting just south of the Griffin Bell Golf Course has left an Americus Police Department officer dead and a Georgia Southwestern University officer in critical condition. *  The suspect is identified as M***** K***** L****, 32, according to a release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. * The GBI is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect." -- Good grief.. the culprit is known by name, and his picture is in the police mugshot file.. why would the GBI put out a reward on the (_*_)'s head when the public should gladly ..and ..willingly... want to get him off the streets!
---

L-E "headLIE": "30M to have no coverage if health law repealed" -- Good grief.. that many don't have it NOW! And when you consider that most families cannot afford to pay for their "deductible", that many more families, in effect, do not actually have "coverage".

First, a moment of silence as he remember.. honor... the memory of those who fought.. and died.. and survived the vicious sneak attack the Japanese inflicted on Pearl Harbor.

---
Online story: "Muslim Yuriy Alterman carrying a Son of Hamas book has been arrested at Rockefeller Center near the Christmas Tree. He was carrying a can of gas and matches, in addition to the Son of Hamas book."-- This ought to set the record straight.. a Christmas Tree IS a religious symbol/icon of Christianity to Muslims..

---
What's this stupid argument about "civilian" control of our military being sacred? The President is "THE Commander-in-Chief" and.he should have the best advisor he/she wants. Besides, look at the Generals who have served as Commanders-in-Chief..Washington, Jackson, Grant, Hayes, Pierce, A. Johnson, Arthur, and Harrison.

---
You know, when a General retires, he becomes a civilian.. what's the beef about Mattis?

---
Madonna..a real piece of art..NOT.. said she was really disappointed, felt betrayed, by women who voted for Trump...Hmmm..well, a lot of us felt betrayed by Madonna influencing our coming-of-age daughters with her loose morals.

---
Good grief..Obama says since he stopped "water boarding", his people tell him their intelligence search has not suffered. Of course "his" people tell him that..it's what he wants..no, demands, to hear..In fact, he's relieved every military officer who's ever challenged him.

---
Does it sound as hypocritical to you as me that Obama talks incessantly about being against torture tactics for prisoners of war, yet has no problem torturing us with his piety about it?

---
There was a threat against the subway system in Los Angeles... safety measures are in effect as the FBI determines whether.it is credible or not..Good grief, name anything political coming out of California that is credible.

---
While Obama finishes his apology tour in Hawaii with a Japanese politician, Trump announces a deal with a Japanese BUSINESSMAN that will create 50,000 new jobs in America. Hellary who?

---
Have you seen the billboard on Veterans soliciting Medicaid users to get braces? Excuse me, I can "see" some extreme cases of the need for braces to correct some unusual situation that affects someone's health, but cosmetic applications should not be covered by taxpayers.

---
How can "TV talking heads" even suggest that Hellary lost the election because of the votes Jill Stein got..Let me tell you, any lib who voted for Stein did so because they were not going to vote for Hellary under any circumstances.

---
You know, if Jill Stein were honest about her desires only to weed out improprieties in our voting system, she'd start in California and show if all those Hellary voters were vetted/ID'd before they cast a ballot.

---
What is Bleep Veep Biden thinking...his only value as VP was as the insurance that no one was going to harm Obama and put Biden in the Oval Office.. maybe some Physician's Assistant injected his botox injections too far into his head.

---
Online headline: "Obama says what he'll miss about being president" -- What... the sychophamts and brown-nosing mainscream media?

---
Online headline/story: "US seeks to reassure Beijing after Trump call with Taiwan leader * White House spokesman Josh Earnest said senior National Security Council officials spoke twice with Chinese officials over the weekend to reassure them of Washington's commitment to the "One China" policy and to "reiterate and clarify the continued commitment of the United States to our longstanding China policy."" -- Good grief.. how can any "assurances" from Josh Earnest be an "Assurance".. anybody who's ever listened to Earnest.. knows his words are not in the beast bit "earnest".

---
Online headline/story: "Republican Texas elector says he won't cast ballot for Trump * S*****'s part, he says "I am asked to cast a vote on Dec. 19 for someone who shows daily he is not qualified for the office." -- Yeah... there is a person who is not qualified to vote.. but it's the (_*_) who value's his opinion higher than the American voters' opinion!

---
Online headline: "Country that may not be real pushes for closer ties to US" -- Ooops, my bad... thought mainscream media and libs were talking about their wishes for America..

---
Online headline/story: "Trump says 'cancel order' on new Air Force One from Boeing * "We want Boeing to make a lot of money but not that much money," added Trump, who takes office on Jan. 20." -- Well.. this is the difference between a man who owns his own custom jet knowing about what things cost, and a Community Organizer spending other people's money.

Hmmm .. Boeing was quick to respond that it had only spent $170,000,000.00.. and hadn't got the plane off the drawing table.. I think Boeing should show Congress and the taxpayers what we got for $170,000,000.00. and show where Trump is wrong about estimating final costs to be $4 BILLION!

---
Yesterday, it was announced that there would be College and Career Academy  erected in Chattahoochee County.. with the "mission" to "prepare students for the workforce". I mentioned the fact that I was under the impression that it was the sole purpose of high schools to do this. I guess this just shows that by eliminating the graduation tests, no employer or institute of higher learning can depend on a diploma attesting to all graduates being so prepared.

---
How do you distinguish "fake stories" from real ones when you read where Nancy Pelosi had said that neurosurgeon Dr Ben Carson isn't "qualified" for a government position.

---
I keep thinking about 160 teams playing in 80 bowl games...you know, this is the culmination of a generation who has always gotten "Participation Trophies" regardless of Real World results.

---
Have you heard the liberals "talking point" about Trump's handling the Carrier Corps attempt at sending all of its jobs to Mexico? The libs contend that the " precedence" means every company will "claim" they are going to do the same thing, and get tax cuts. This just shows how out of touch, how business ignorant, how insensitive to middle-class NEEDS the Democratic Party really is, and makes you wonder how any of them ever got elected. Trump's business plan, lower stateside corporate taxes, and penalty taxes for those moving jobs out of America will make American companies WANT to stay and expand, and that, my friends, is how our economy will surge.

---
L-E story: "World Cup luge races scheduled for Friday at the Whistler Sliding Center have been delayed until Saturday because heavy snow has delayed the delivery of sleds." -- I do hope Algore was the scheduled "starter" for the sled races...

---
L-E headline: "Donna Tompkins defeats John Darr for Muscogee sheriff" -- You know.. I hope the L-E is happy .. happy with the "hit job" it did on Darr.. I pray Columbus is happy one or two years from now if Tompkins stays within the Mayor's budget... and we get hit with state and federal lawsuits for non-compliance to prisoner treatment mandates.

---
You know.. Darr won the vote of those who cast their votes on Tuesday... yet could not overtake the margin that voted early at the Citizens Center.. I wonder if having a voting precinct at a government building really is in the best interest of the taxpayers of Columbus.. It's "too convenient" for government workers who are voting on local government personnel..

---
L-E headline: "Obama defends terrorism strategy before Trump handover" -- Yeah... blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah .....

L-E headline: "Georgia leads U.S. in executions this year; 9th one is scheduled" -- GA leads with it's 9th execution slated.. Put in perspective, if all 50 states executed 9 violent criminals per year, that would be 450 total.. and some more "perspective" is that 450 is 299 LESS that street deaths in Chicago this year alone! Our courts are not doing the job of making the death sentence a deterrent for others to kill.

Online headline/story: "Trump lashes out at China after getting criticism over phone call with Taiwan * "Did China ask us if it was OK to devalue their currency (making it hard for our companies to compete), heavily tax our products going into their country (the U.S. doesn't tax them) or to build a massive military complex in the middle of the South China Sea? I don't think so!" Trump said on Twitter." -- Yes! It's good to have a president that stands up for the American Way.. The world already feels sanity has returned.

---
I support Trump recognizing Taiwan.. Doesn't mainscream media remember remember that Carter not only initiated this situation, he gave up the Panama Canal as well.. so we have no control over Panama in its dealings with China. And until Obama came on the scene, Carter had no competition for being the worst president in our lifetime.

---
Online headline: "Joe Biden: 'I am going to run in 2020'" -- Hmmm... OK.... but my question is: where... or at a minimum.. where to?

---
It would almost have been worth it to actually watch a NFL game to see KaeperPRICK get sacked more times than his output on yards passing in Sunday's game..but my integrity is more important than instant gratification

---.
Jill Stein...whatta fraud...she says she'd call for a recount regardless who won.. Good grief..does Stein think Hellary supporters would have funded her witch hunt if Hellary had won.. and who does she think funded this one.

---
It's been 4 weeks since the voters rejected the assault by Columbus "Progressives" to remove the tax freeze...now, how many of those "Progressives" have gone to the tax office and voluntarily given up their Homestead Exemption and tax protection?

---
Good grief...Obama has invited Japanese officials to visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial.. What is Obama doing...ending his term with another "Apology Tour"..sorta apologizing for our ships and men getting in the way of Japanese bombs?

---
California Representative Rohrabacher has been added to the list of potential candidates as Secretary of State. Rorhabacher has a penetrating, chiseled image which would serve our needs effectively. As it is, John Kerry is the current Sec of State, and his "muppet" look has been a disadvantage to American interests.

---
Liberals are the pits.. Trump's new tax plan may raise personal deductions to $15,000/$30,000 for single/couples,and libs are out with their doomsday message that it may reduce the number of people filing itemized taxes, and people may not be able to take their mortgage interest deduction. Good grief, as I figure out my taxes, I will compute whether itemizing or using the fixed deduction is best for us.

L-E headline/story: "CHATTAHOOCHEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * College and Career Academy coming * The mission of the academies is to prepare students for the workforce through relevant secondary and postsecondary career training. " -- "prepare students for the workforce "? Huh? Isn't this what high school is SUPPOSE TO BE DOING ALL ALONG?

---
Good grief.. there are 80.... that's right 80 bowl games this season... not 80 teams going to a bowl game, but 80 bowl games..  160 teams.. I guess most of them are played so even coaches with losing records can collect that "bonus" in the contract clause about going to a bowl game.. Too bad Hallmark will be finished with its "Christmas Movie Lineup".. so we'd have something worthwhile to watch during the Bowl season..between REAL bowl games .

Will someone please put Mayor TomLYINGson in the same room as Marshall Countryman and have them discuss what a "PPV" (Police Pursuit Vehicle) designation means on a Dodge Charger vehicle purchased by the City Manager.. It seems that Countryman has a better grasp of the basic equipment, but TomLYINGson has the sycophantic L-E reporting her version. * The mission of the academies is to prepare students for the workforce through relevant secondary and postsecondary career training.

From the Council Agenda..First Reading: "PROPOSED PILOT PROJECT PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN CCG & RUBICON GLOBAL, LLC: Approval is requested to accept a donation of consulting services and technology from Rubicon Global, LLC, for a Municipal Waste Data Pilot Project for services valued at $443,880 and authorize to enter into any appropriate agreement for participation in the waste data pilot project. The 12- month partnership will allow the city to test a suite of technological resources designed to improve residential waste and recycling systems." -- You know.. if donated "consulting services and technology" are worth $443,880.00, paying for them would eat up the Mayor TomLYINGson stated savings of once, versus twice, a week garbage pick ups. And since it still takes the Garbage Department 4 days, whether visiting every household once or twice a week, how are we saving the money TomLYINGson stated..

---
From the Council Agenda: "GREEN PLAZA (MONUMENT & REHABILITATION): Approval is requested to enter into a contractual agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation for the rehabilitation project for Mott's Green Plaza in the amount of $1 million. Under this agreement, GDOT will provide 80 percent of the Preliminary Engineering and Construction Cost ($800,000). The local match of 20 percent ($200,000) is budgeted in the fiscal year 2017 Capital Improvement Program under the TSPLOST Discretionary funds." -- Wait a minute.. I thought all SPLOST.. whether T-SPLOST or local city/school SPLOSTS were voted on to pay for estimated costs of SPECIFIC projects.. how does a "discretionary fund" exist?

---
Another Council request: "PROJECT FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT FOR INFANTRY ROAD & EXTENSION OF THE FOLLOW ME TRAIL: Approval is requested to enter into a contractual agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation for the new Infantry Road and the extension of the Follow Me Trail project in the amount of $1,500,000. Under this agreement, GDOT will provide 80 percent of the Preliminary Engineering and Construction Cost ($1,200,000). The local match of 20 percent ($300,000) is budgeted in Capital Improvement Program under the TSPLOST Discretionary funds." -- Again.. how can there be a "discretionary fund" in a bill of specific projects?

---
Another Council purchase request: "MOBILE/AUTOMATIC LICENSE PLATE READER - It is requested that council approve the purchase of three mobile/ automatic license plate readers with associated equipment and one-year warranty, from Madden and Associates (Braselton, Ga.), in the amount of $61,455. The purchase will be accomplished by cooperative purchasing via GSA federal contract." -- And what purpose are these "license plate readers" to serve?

---
Another questionable Council purchase request: "SUPPORT OF THE IASWORLD AND ORACLE SOFTWARE SYSTEM * It is requested that council approve payment to Tyler Technologies (Dallas, Texas) for the annual maintenance and technical support of the ias-World and Oracle software system in the approximate amount of $191,815. for the period covering Dec. 1, 2016 through Nov. 30, 2017. Approval is also requested to approve payment for the annual maintenance and support for subsequent years, including cost increases for all aspects of the system, which will be budgeted in the appropriate fiscal years." -- Tyler Technologies.. that's the company the Mayor hired to computer assess our properties.. Two things.. Why do we need an ongoing use of such services since 1- we have a paid Tax Assessor's Office and staff, and 2 - since WE beat the mayor's attempt at elimnating our property tax freeze, why would we need annual updates from a Texas technology firm when we have a city office that should do that?

---
Council even wants to purchase 3 new "street sweepers"... Heck, if the City ran a street sweeper on my street in the condition the asphalt is in, the sweeper would inhale everything down to the dirt base.

Online story: "Duncan Lloyd, who is an assistant city solicitor, was caught on surveillance video with another man vandalizing property in Philadelphia with anti-Trump statements *  has been identified by police as one of the men who participated in writing "F*** Trump" on the wall of a local supermarket on November 25. *  Police have estimated the damage between $3,000 and $10,000. * The city attorney has kept his job, according to Philly.com. * No arrests have been made in the incident, according to reports." -- Hmmm.. no arrest... or  firing.. Apparently, "the swamp" that needs draining includes Philadelphia as well.

Online headline: "Fidel Castro laid to rest in Cuba" -- That was easy.. a lot easier than the Cuban people in general, and those family members who will live forever with the scars of what Castro did to them.

---
Let's talk about Hellary's "popular vote victory" -- Take away California alone, and Trump wins easily.. Now, if Democrats and mainscream media want to continue whining, the FEC should make them pay for a voter-by-voter confirmation of every California voter being eligible since no photo-ID is required to vote. (According to the Office of the California Secretary of State, "in most cases, California voters are not required to show identification at their polling place." A voter may be asked to provide identification at the polls if it is his or her first time voting (this requirement applies if the individual registered by mail without providing a driver's license number, state identification number, or the last four digits of a Social Security number). --

---
Online headline/story: "Green Party's Stein drops Pennsylvania presidential recount bid * Green Party candidate Jill Stein abruptly dropped her bid to seek a recount of the presidential election vote in Pennsylvania after a judge ordered her campaign to post a $1 million bond, a spokesman said on Saturday." -- Hmmm... guess Stein decided to spend her funds provided by Hellary supporters on her own debts..  AMERICA WINS!

From the "does Bernie.. well, Democrats in general.. understand Economics 101" department -- Online headline/story: "Trump targets another company, draws Sanders' criticism * President-elect Donald Trump, after threatening consequences for companies that move jobs overseas, turned to another Indiana company planning a move to Mexico * On Saturday, (Bernie) challenged Trump over his Rexnord tweet. * "What are you going to do, @realDonaldTrump? Stand up for working people or give the company a massive tax break?" Sanders tweeted in response to Trump's post." -- Good grief.. Trump is saving American jobs BEFORE they disappear, and Bernie is challenging Trump on whether he's for saving American working people... I really don't think Bernie a=has a clue...

---
From the "suspicions confirmed" department - Online headline: "Bergdahl seeks pardon before Trump takes office" -- After putting Bergdahl in the very "public eye" by a praising Rose Garden photo-op, Obama is treading on another legacy-killing decision if he pardons Bergdahl..

---
Ask yourself.. will Trump provide better leadership for our country surrounding himself with a Cabinet of successful Captains of Industry, or political cronies looking for another government paycheck?

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Donald Trump uses Scotch tape to hold his tie together" -- Me, too! in fact, it's very common among tall people because we have adjust the starting point in tying a tie to get the right length, which makes the hidden part of the tie too short to utilize the loops/labels put on the back of ties to contain the back piece. I guess not knowing this means the reporter is short..... in smarts as well as stature.

Boy did Penn State throw a wet towel into the Championship Bowl Committee's plan for Ohio State..Wow.. does the Committee boot Conference winner Clemson, Penn State or Washington.. or even Alabama just get Penn State beaten Ohio State into the mix? Hey, Bowl Committee, boot Bama.. it'll make the other results more of a mystery. Yeah.. that's the ticket.. just make Alabama "King" and let the other 4 play for 2nd prize.

---
I do believe the Super Bowl winner will have to beat Alabama to claim its the best team in the country.

---
I heard another talking TV head ask the question: "Why does Trump want to ruin the new relationship with Cuba?" Good grief..the new "relationship" SUCKS! You know, Cuba, under Castro made a deal with Russia that brought military weapons/missiles to within 90 milles of the US! Why would an American president want make any deal that occludes Cuba from being responsible to correct its horrible human rights past, or give Cuba a business advantage over Americans?

---
Good grief.. a liberal spinmeister was blasting Trump for probably making money for himself/children by improved business plans, then he revealed that he didn't feel it was "fair" that Trump real estate values would increase while his own bond portfolio lost value.. The hypocrite! He's "made his" and now wants to sit back, clip coupons,  and benefit as the economy slips down further as it would with Hellary in charge..I.hope the (_*_)'s bond portfolio tanks, and America soars to new heights!

---
It can only be ironic that the Washington Monument became damaged during Obama's term and will be fixed during Trump's term.. The "official" claim is that it was damaged by nature (still waiting for the "climate change" reasons), but it is sorta suspect that the Monument to Honest George came during Obama's term...

It's sad that Sheriff John Darr is being challenged based on his fight to get the mayor to properly fund the Sheriff's Office. Darr's abilities and results are not the issue. The lawsuit is a smoke and mirrors attempt by Mayor TomLYINGson to gain control over the Sheriff's Office. Darr is within his rights.. and mandates, to have access to the budget funds the Sheriff's Department needs to run the jail and  perform its court duties as outlined by state laws and federal/court mandates. The mayor has been the one denying the proper budget. Now what needs to be exposed.. and it should have been publicly admitted/denied prior to the election, is whether Mayor-supported Tompkins has been promised.. led to believe, she would get the budget funds to run the Sheriff's Office properly if she drops the lawsuit.

On a local issue.. why wasn't Trump around when the Bradley Company moved it's grill manufacturing operations to China? Fortunately, Golden Foundry does manufacture it's great new grills here in Columbus.
