As the China "balloon" traversed the width of America for a week, maybe it was smart to wait until it got to the Atlantic before shooting it down. Who knows what the balloon "gas" was? Perhaps it was laced with chemicals or bacteria, and in a dormant state in the sub-freezing temperature and as it was released drifted to Earth as a virus ..or worst....
