Online headline/story: "Pentagon leaders cancel drag show at a Nevada Air Force base * The show, which was in celebration of Pride Month, was approved by Air Force leaders, but Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, told the Air Force it is not Pentagon policy to fund drag shows on bases and the show should be canceled or moved off base. * Drag shows and events on military bases have become a politically contentious issue in recent months, with conservative politicians and pundits arguing the military should not be spending taxpayer money on them." -- "approved by Air Force Leaders"? What... or maybe... "WHO" is/are the Air Force Leaders? The Nevada Air Force Base commander's career should be over!

Online headline: 'Biden accuser Reade defects to Russia out of 'safety,' expert warns it's not whole story" -- Hmmm... so Tara Reade feels she's safer being in Russia than in the sights of Resident Biden's minions.... this says a lot... Maybe even "TOO MUCH"!

Wonder if Columbus GA Council has thought about what would happen if the City shut the railroad off from the 6th Ave rail yard? A huge part of Columbus' shipping and economic strength is the rail access for the Big Rigs.. it's especially important since we don't offer East/West limited access highways.

---
Oooops... We may have to cancel something else...since Ft Benning has become Ft Whomever, sooner or later, that one on Confederate General Slade's grandchildren, Thomas Bog Slade, was a member of the US Navy's welcome/reception unit that accepted the Statue of Liberty from France, and he was married to Thirza Ann Kirven.

Most of us in Columbus, GA only see this from Whittlesey Road but here's a pic taken from the neighborhood cul de sac. It is not a blessing for the homeowner or kids in the Fox Chapel neighborhood.. This is their view.

Seriously... While I'm glad Wray has acquiesced, why was FBI Director Wray refusing to submit a document the House Committee wants.. The document is not even a "classified" one. Does Wray realize he's suppose to be helping America stay safe?

I had very wise grandparents.. parents, too, but my maternal grandfather always had some special adages he shared... One day, when I was 15, and had been picked up from Everett Case's basketball camp at NC State in 1962. (I'd just met Press and young Pete Maravich). We drove to Goldsboro, NC for an additional week of visiting, and on the way, he asked, "Do you know the difference from being nude and naked?". I knew a gem was coming, so I said, "I think so, but I'm probably wrong." He grinned.. ear to ear...and finished with these words of wisdom... He said, "You can feel completely naked even when you're fully dressed." I thought about that.. and said, "You're absolutely right.."... That's been great advice I follow and pass along.

The Republican campaign strategy for addressing conservative/independent women's issues/concerns for 2024 should focus on only two aspects: Democrats deliver promises they won't keep, and Republicans will deliver results.... and even IF Democrats tries to keep a woman's issue promise, those same Democrats are going to vote against women who want border security, drug and street crime control, lower taxes, better education, energy independence, and responsible government spending.

WTVM-TV9 headline/story: "Columbus recognized as Bicycle Friendly Community by League of American Bicyclists * Columbus joins 506 communities across the country in the movement for safer streets, and better bicycling for everyone." -- I'm curious, how have bicycles made out streets safer? Seriously, most bicycle riders have no clue about the laws that govern their use. Uh-uh-uh-uh.... I'm no "Debbie downer" ... I once rode my bicycle to Panama City Beach, Florida. Oh.. I want to know, also, why the "League of American Bicyclists" feel bikes are a "sustainable transportation choice"? I recently looked at some new basic model bicycles at a specialty shop, and most were priced higher than either of the first 2 cars I bought...

---
From the "Bias? What bias?" department - Online headline: "U.S. House passes debt-limit bill as four Georgia lawmakers vote ‘no’" -- This "Journalist", Tia Mitchell, should have her diploma revoked! You'd think from the "headLIE" that all Georgia Representatives were voting in unison, yet only 4 of 5 Democrats, and 4 of 14 GA Representatives voted against the bill! Ms Mitchell seems to not know what our Constitution's 1st Amendment is about...protecting her ability to be truthful, and OUR rights as citizens to KNOW the truth.
