What is going on in Columbus GA news… a huge highway block by Columbus GA law enforcement was made yesterday morning of a major commuter artery connecting Harris County and Columbus GA.. and I cannot find online information about what happened.. There have been speculations of gun shots, or “road rage” but nothing official I’m aware of… it’s like information from the Columbus law enforcement officials has been silenced… and local media is cooperating… so much for claims that violent crimes are declining.

Seems another non-local government department is doing the collecting,  and we , David Britt, found out  Columbus GA taxpayers are sending over $483,000.00 in such fees OUT OF TOWN!. Britt callously justified this by saying more local taxes would have to raised to cover that $483,000.00 if his department processed the payments. Well,  that would be better than sending that half-million dollars OUT OF OUR ECONOMY to somebody else's economy, and think about how much our local economy loses by not circulating and multiplying hat amount here in Columbus GA. Even another aspect would be that for $483,000.00 in addition local revenue, for the first week of October and December, our Tax Office could set up many satellite property tax collection spots which would save Columbus GA taxpayers lots of time from standing in line at the Government Service Center. Another alternative would be to bid out a local contract with our local banks... even if the rate didn't come down, it would still keep that $483,000.00 "convenience fee revenues" circulating here ....and providing a  few more good jobs for Columbus GA citizens..

What I noticed, too, about the rental address used is that there appear to be a cycle of "weird" transactions involving selling prices of that property (2832 Colorado St here in Columbus, GA)
