GO DAWGS!

From the "doomed prophecy" department - Online headline: "O.J. Simpson appears at Las Vegas restaurant to support Bills" -- Of course, after the game, the restaurant was hoping that all the BILLS would be paid..
---
Online headline/story: "With renewed vigor, Supreme Court scrutinizes curbs on voting *
The justices will hear arguments in Republican-governed Ohio's appeal of a lower court ruling that blocked its policy of erasing from voter registration lists people who do not regularly cast a ballot. * Under the policy, such registration is deleted if the person goes six years without either voting or contacting state voting officials. * "Voting is the foundation of our democracy, and it is much too important to treat as a 'use it or lose it' right," said Stuart Naifeh, a voting rights lawyer with liberal advocacy group Demos, which is representing plaintiffs challenging Ohio's policy along with the American Civil Liberties Union." -- "Voting is the foundation of our democracy, and it is much too important to treat as a 'use it or lose it' right"? Ya damn right it is! And My vote is too important for it to be countered by someone illegally voting for another person who's moved, died, or known not to go to the polls!

Looking at a gallery of photos set at the Golden Globes, it was nice to see most women dressed more appropriately than in the past, but a few still showed up under the past normal Hollywood code that if your nipples are covered, it's modest enough.
---
Random thought: Do you know how much in taxes you pay for gasoline in Columbus, GA... let's see, GA's tax is 31.09-cents.. add fed taxes of 18.04-cents... add local/state sales taxes of 8% (about 25-cents per gallon), and it's total of about 74-cents per gallon of regular (say at $2.30 per gallon).. maybe this is why people younger than my generation scoff when they hear us talk about paying 15 (or less)-cents a gallon..In perspective.. if you drive to a gasoline/convenience store to buy cigs and lottery tickets, and fill up.. with say 20 gallons of gas, you paid nearly $15.00 in gasoline taxes. Add a carton of cigarettes, and that station has collected upwards of $25.00 in state/fed/local taxes.. Maybe hitting a pothole as you leave the station will sober you up... and you'll call your City officials about the lousy roads in Columbus.
---
Online headline/story: "11 dead after gun battle erupts outside Mexican beach resort * Acapulco is the biggest city in the southern state of Guerrero, one of Mexico's most lawless and a center of opium poppy production. * The beach resort is one of Mexico's most famous and for decades served as a playground for Hollywood stars." -- Maybe there's another reason to build "the Wall"... keeping liberals and other drug advocates from going to Mexico.
---
Online headline/story: "Major Democratic donor threatens to pull funding from senators who called for Al Franken’s resignation * Susie Tompkins Buell, a liberal mega donor who primarily supports female politicians, said in interviews with Buzzfeed and the New York Times that she is reconsidering her financial support of politicians who called for Franken’s resignation, a move that she considered to be “unfair,” “cavalier” and a “stampede". * more than two dozen Democratic senators to call for Franken’s resignation following the allegations against him and helped to lead a coordinated response among the U.S. Senate’s female politicians" -- Hmmm.. and even though Franken is gone now, some DIMocrats are "rethinking" their decision... you know.. this just shows how "buyable" DIMocrats are...the old :i was agin it before I was for it" defense.
---
According to reports, Seth Meyers made on one joke at Donald Trump's expense.. Guess Seth Meyers' accountant has told him how much the new TAX CUT bill will save him next year, and Meyers doesn't want to lose that the year following... or get a tax audit.
---
From the "the truth hurts liberals even more" department - Online story: "CNN’s Jake Tapper has a message for top White House aide Stephen Miller: Stop wasting my viewers’ time. * Tapper shut down his tense interview Sunday with President Donald Trump’s senior policy adviser after Miller continued to parrot talking points touting his boss while also attacking CNN. * “I think I have wasted enough of my viewers’ time,” Tapper told Miller as he abruptly ended the aide’s air-time." -- Tapper is right.. none of his viewers know.. much less believe the truth...and he doesn't want what viewers he has to seek other sources to find out what's really going on in the world.. Of course, I wish Fox News would cut out it's DIMocratic Party spinmeisters from on-air "discussions", too.. they belong on Seth Meyers' show.
---
From the "bias... what bias" department - Online headline: "Trump unloads on Russia investigation, libel laws and explosive new tell-all book during press conference" -- You know.. Steve Bannon has gone from mainscream media goat to hero in less that 2 months.. mainscream media eviscerated Bannon when he we working for Trump and Roy Moore, but now he's their "golden child". What's funny is mainscream media WANTS to spread the dirt and innuendo of an unvetted source, yet when former Secret Service agents wrote about the Clintons, mainscream media pooh-poohed them all.
---
From the "added benefit of President Trump" department - Online story: "Saudi Arabian authorities have detained 11 princes after they gathered at a royal palace in Riyadh in a rare protest against the government suspending payment of their utility bills, the public prosecutor said on Saturday. * Saudi Arabia, the world's top oil exporter, has introduced reforms that include reducing energy subsidies, introducing value-added tax and cutting some perks to royal family members to try to cope with a drop in crude prices that has caused a budget deficit estimated at 195 billion riyals ($52 billion) in 2018." -- Hmmm... I do imagine the Sauds rue the election of Trump versus a third term of Obama via Hellary. Now that AMERICA is back in the OIL GAME.. big time... the rest of the world is not subjected to the whims of the Sauds.
---
There's no doubt that TV media bosses are enjoying the sexual harassment charges.. just think about how many over... excessively paid... "celebrities" the networks have been able to cut from their payrolls..
---
Online headline: "Dunkin' Donuts ditches artificial food coloring in its donuts" -- Whoa! You mean sugar-overload wasn't the worst thing about consuming an extra donut or two?
---
The number one item that Columbus needs to address through the legislature is getting all our local election.. for political positions AND SPLOST tax referendums... back on the General Election date in November when people are motivated to go to the polls..
---
L-E story: "• Support an extension of Interstate 14 to and through Columbus and take any appropriate legislative action concerning the highway extension." -- Once again.. why not just connect Columbus eastward to Macon (I-75 and I-16), and westward to Auburn and Montgomery (I-65 and I-85), then Montgomery to Meridian, MS to connect with I-20. This was the original intent, and not only more feasible, but less expensive as well.
---
Speaking of starting the new legislative session.. has the L-E gotten to the bottom of Jehmu Greene's charges of Calvin Smyre's inappropriate body contacts? Smyre should be cleared... or cleared out.
---
On the positive side of the L-E's "soundoff" -- One thing for sure is that liberals, using their anonymity, leave no doubt to the common sense educated that Trump and conservatism are the ways to Making America Great Again..
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Hardly a subtle distinction - Illegal alien minors had no choice in entering America with their parents, so they should stay. But so should their parents, who willfully entered, simply because they’re related? Illogical argument!" -- Hmmm.. and what about the minors sent or crossing on their own? No one should be allowed into our country without going through the procedure set up for legal immigration... no other country allows what libs demand in ours..
---
L-E headline: "COMMENTARY * 7 years later, McKoon appears wiser * BY CHUCK WILLIAMS" --
Hmmm... wonder if "Buzz" Pezold approved of this article? Anyway.. it would be nice if the entire L-E staff got behind the idea that having a local state-wide elected officer would elevate Columbus' position in the eyes of the Republican legislature.
---
So "Together 2017" is going to build an open work-out park on the RiverWalk section at Rotary Park... now the big.. and PERTINENT question: And what provisions have been made for/by "Together2017" (even though it's 2018) to provide long term maintenance and upkeep... or will this be an albatross for the taxpayers in the foreseeable future?
---
Columbus Council Agenda:
First readings: (Delayed from Dec. 12, 2017) An ordinance rezoning 5344 Kolb Ave. The current zoning is LMI (Light Manufacturing and Industrial) zoning district. The proposed zoning is GC (General Commercial) zoning district. The proposed use is Pest Control (in Building A) and Banquet Facility (in Building B). The Planning Advisory Commission recommends approval and the Planning Department recommends conditional approval. (Applicant: Jarrod Yasenchok) (Garrett) -- Sorta strange to have a chemical company and a food service business side by side...
*
DONATION OF A FITNESS PARK AT ROTARY PARK: Approval is requested authorizing the acceptance of a donation of a fitness park from Together 2017, valued at $73,650 placed at Rotary Park and will be known as Fitness Together@Rotary Park. This fitness park is a donation to the city through Together 2017 and will be utilized by citizens using Rotary Park as well as those citizens using that portion of the Riverwalk. This will be at no cost to the city as it is a private donation. -- Hmm.. and what part of ongoing maintenance is included in this "donation"? What it appears to be is another liability that the City is piling on to the backs of the taxpayers.
*
ROOFING SERVICES AT NORTH PRECINCT – It is requested that council authorize the execution of a construction contract with RYCARS Construction, LLC (Atlanta) in the amount of $139,880 for roofing services at the North Precinct of the Columbus Police Department. -- Excuse me, but where is the North Center.. and $139.800 for "roofing services" is not very clear.. is it to re-do, build, clean or what?
*
ADDITIONAL SERVICES ADDENDUM - DATABASE ADMINISTRATIVE (DBA) SERVICES FOR THE IASWORLD ORACLE DATABASE - It is requested that council approve the Additional Services Addendum from Tyler Technologies (Moraine, OH) to provide (DBA) Database Administrative Services, in the amount of $26,640 for one year. The addendum may be renewed for four additional years at Tyler’s current DBA Service Fee at the time of renewal. -- Good grief.. we haven't even recovered from the back-stabbing Tyler Tech software has done, and Council wants to give them more money?
---
Online headline: "Thousands gather for 0-16 Cleveland Browns parade" -- Hmmm... word was that none of the Cleveland Browns showed up for the parade... but then why ruin a perfect season... none showed up for the games either.. Of course, it would have been a perfect season if Brown's fans boycotted the parade altogether, too.
---
From the "same party that gave us Marion Berry, Wash DC mayor" department - Online headline/story: "Judge Jailed For Lying To FBI Now Running For Congress As Democrat *
Breitbart reports: "Philly Judge Who Resigned over Sex Scandal and Was Jailed for Lying to FBI Now Running for Congress as Democrat * A former Philadelphia judge who was caught up in a ticket-fixing scandal, resigned over charges of sexual harassment, and was jailed for lying to the FBI, is now running for Congress as a Democrat with the slogan “A Fresh Start for Pennsylvania.” * Willie Singletary, a former Philadelphia Traffic Court judge, has announced his run for the First District seat currently held by U.S. Rep. Robert Brady, who is also chairman of Philadelphia’s Democratic City Committee, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer." -- Wait a minute.. isn't lying to the FBI the same charge as Mike Flynn is being persecuted by the FBI today.. and President Clinton's impeachment?
---
Yesterday's FBC sermon brought out something... "Fake News" has been with us for centuries.. Moses "spies" spread the news that the Jewish people should not go into the promised land of "milk and honey" because there were giants and fortressed cities the "spies" didn't think they could handle. Numbers 13: 30-33.
---
Josh McKoon is watching out for the taxpayers of Columbus.. He's sponsored SB 20 (http://www.legis.ga.gov/Legislation/20172018/162911.pdf ) which addresses election dates so we can vote on our officials during the General Election dates as well as SPLOSTs.. Definitely a "win" if it passes. but I expect most of the Columbus legislators to be against it.. Let'em know how you feel! (e-mails: ed.harbison@senate.ga.gov , josh.mckoon@senate.ga.gov , debbie.buckner@house.ga.gov , carolyn.hugley@house.ga.gov , john.pezold@house.ga.gov , richard.smith@house.ga.gov , calvin.smyre@house.ga.gov )
---
L-E story: "Rep. John Pezold, R-Columbus, said he will follow through with plans to drop a bill which will make it legal to take your attention away from the road while operating a vehicle — if it’s stopped at a traffic light. * “What I would like to see is that you are not guilty of distracted driving unless the vehicle is moving,” Pezold said." -- Hmmm.. then the probability that the guy holding up traffic after the light changes to green WAS John Pezold as someone reported a few months ago.. I wonder if I can get an update on my car's horn.. to blast louder when stopped behind someone texting at a GREEN light.
---
L-E story: "In a national television appearance Sunday morning, Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson said the country is moving closer toward an Article V Convention. *
Good grief.. a federal balanced budget would put the DIMocrat Party out-of-business.. Taxpayers could control revenues simply by living off their savings for a year or two.. Actually, like our Founding Fathers, I'm against a federal balanced budget because it would weaken our ability to respond to a foreign threat.
Ironically, Mayor Tom-LYING-son will get more coverage from by blog website than from MSNBC. * She said conservative supporters of this move are saying it is only about a balanced budget amendment and nothing more. * She said conservative supporters of this move are saying it is only about a balanced budget amendment and nothing more. * Tomlinson said that is not the truth, that it is all about limiting federal power. She said the balanced budget amendment is a “great marketing moniker.” -- Good grief.. a federal balanced budget would put the DIMocrat Party out-of-business..

Last night was historic for my family... 189 years ago, 3 of my family members, 2 of them women, founded what is now the First Baptist Church in Columbus.. six prior generations of family women, and now a seventh generation have/are serving the church with love and devotion.. but last night was special.. my bride was ordained as a deacon.. she becomes the first female member of my family to serve as a deacon.. it wasn't until the 21st Century that our church acknowledged the equality of the women who have been the backbone of our church family.

And in case you didn't hear me the first time, GO DAWGS!

From the "since when is enforcing the law being on the wrong side" department - Online headline: " Booker says Jeff Sessions' 'obsession with marijuana' puts him 'on the wrong side of history' -- Good grief.. how can a sitting Senator be allowed on the floor who does not understand that upholding the US Constitution is what he swore to do?
---
From the "are we going to take this anymore" department - Online headline/story: "US man held as ‘enemy combatant’ in Iraq lawyers up with ACLU * A U.S. citizen being held in Iraq as an enemy combatant wanted the ACLU to represent him and fight his detention, the civil liberties group said in a court filing Friday. * A federal judge last month ordered the government to let the unidentified man — who was picked up on a Syrian battlefield in September and accused of fighting for ISIS — speak to lawyers. * "Basically, the government for the last three months has fought tooth and nail to prevent a U.S. citizen from speaking to a lawyer and having his day in court," Hafetz said." -- "basically the government... has fought tooth and nail to prevent a U.S. citizen from speaking to a lawyer and having his day in court"? Good grief.. a terrorist, captured on the field of battle, BASICALLY gave up his American citizen's rights when he committed treason and declared war on America!
---
It's amazing.. the Southern Poverty Law Center has not recognized "Anti-fa" as a "hate group", but the DNC has... and embraces it.
---
Here's a list that really hits home.. one listing :the worst city in each state to live in". Georgia's is ALBANY...
"10. Georgia
> Worst city to live: Albany
> Population: 71,109
> Median home value: $92,600
> Poverty rate: 32.0%
> Adults with at least a bachelor’s degree: 19.0%
Population trends are indicative of the desirability of a city. New residents are often attracted by a healthy economy and job market, while residents tend to desert areas with a poor economy, a high crime rate, and widespread poverty. As the national population expanded by 3.9% over the last five years, Albany’s population declined by 10%, the steepest drop of any large city in Georgia.
This decline appears to reflect some of the problems the southern Georgia city faces. The city’s annual unemployment rate is 7.9%, the highest in the state, and well above the 5.3% national unemployment rate. Additionally, 32% of the city’s population lives in poverty, well above the 17% statewide poverty rate."
I bring this up as Albany is represented by Congressman Sanford Bishop.. who also represents a lot of Columbus, and Columbus seems to be in the same economic woes of Albany. Why are Muscogee County voters still voting to support Bishop? Are DIMocrats in Columbus satisfied with the stagnation Bishop brings? You know.. I'm not asking Columbus DIMocrats to vote against DIMocrats, but at least change "{the diapers".. Bishop's smell has made local DIMocrats "nose blind"..
---
A friend of mine..who traveled to see the Dawgs in the Rose Bowl was asked if he would be "in the Benz" this Monday as well.. no, he said shrugging his shoulders, "my children are too old to sell".
---
One question shoots down all the concerns the DIMocrats claim about blaming Republicans for any Government shutdown...the DIMocrats will not vote up or down unless their pork projects are included. Conversely, Republicans should consider it a "badge" of honor and courage to shutdown DIMocrat political blackmail.
---
BERNIE... Our socialist friend Bernie has posted a Facebook video of multimillionaires saying they want to be taxed MORE.. they WANT to PAY more..... Well, Bernie, simply remind them they can donate more money to any cause, movement..even the government if they want to.. Of course, remind them that once they are broke, mainscream media nor DIMocrats won't have another thing to do with them.
---
From the "irony personified" department - Who'da guessed 2 months ago that mainscream media would embrace Steve Bannon as one of their heroes. Bannon was number 1 one on mainscream media's hit list as he supported Roy Moore, but now mainscream media feels maybe it misjudged him.
---
What is with liberal splinter groups that makes them such megalomaniacs that they feel they are owed a national platform.. national access to media outlets? Anti-offshore drilling groups are popping up like pimples on a teenager since Trump started eliminating regressive EPA regulations, and mainscream media covers them like they are established pillars of the Constitution.
---
Well, it looks like it may be another month before we find out where the MCSD will erect the Wrestling building at Columbus High... maybe.. seems I was right.. there are no obvious locations.. other than the existing parking lot... to build one that's appropriately convenient or use for wrestlers and cheerleader practices.. The one area "close" to be considered has numerous pitfalls and probably would need code variations.. I just got e-mail changing the preliminary Jan 11 2015 Citizens SPLOST Committee meeting date until February. The main question, though, is... Why is the MCSD keeping the campus locations option "secret"? The MCSD OWNS the property, and, in my opinion, it would be of benefit if the school and public had input for potential spots.
---
L-E story: "The campaign to bring Interstate 14 to the Chattahoochee Valley has crossed state lines. _ Frank Lumpkin IV, the 19-year-old pushing the project, recently formed the Youth Infrastructure Coalition to help promote the project." -- Once again.. why not just connect Columbus eastward to Macon (I-75 and I-16), and westward to Auburn and Montgomery (I-65 and I-85), then Montgomery to Meridian, MS to connect with I-20. This was the original intent, and not only more feasible, but less expensive as well.

From above story: "... wants the interstate to run along JR Allen Parkway, a road that’s already built to interstate standards." -- Excuse me, but I do not agree that J R Allen Parkway is built to interstate standards.. if you polled people's responses to which exits/entries are "the best" and "the worst", you'd probably get the same answer for both! Ingress/egress at at all ramps are like the results of a horse being designed by a committee.. and the committee gave us the camel.
---
L-E guest commentary headline/content: "Time for a patriotic GOP intervention * BY MARTIN SCHRAM * Tribune News Service * Attention House Speaker Paul Ryan, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and all Republican congressional leaders. * You are being implored to undertake a new mission — one that is far more imperative than the joyful tax bill love-fest you performed for President Donald Trump just before Christmas. * The president that your Republican Party nominated to lead our nation has spun out of control. You have seen it. You know you are concerned." -- "the president that your party nominated"? Does this lib just not understand that THE PEOPLE of America elected Donald Trump.. not the Republicans.. The PEOPLE of America CHOSE Donald Trump over Hellary! The PEOPLE of America actually SUPPORT Donald Trump.. just having access to barrels of ink to publish YOUR, Martin Schram, opinion does not make it legitimate.

From the "Oregon.. the ultimate 'snowflake' state" department - Online headline/story: "People in Oregon are now legally allowed to pump their own gas — and some people are really mad about it * Comments: “Yuck! Pumping my [own] fuel in freezing temperatures and handling a nasty ole fuel nozzle that 50 other people have touched that day (and who knows what cooties are on there), no thank you. It’s nice to not have to pump your own fuel.” and "Does no one consider the cumulative effects of breathing in small amounts of gas over time? Lung cancer rates will skyrocket. Who knows how this will effect (sic) other body systems". -- Apparently, Oregonian snowflakes have no concern about the effects of "breathing in small amounts of gas" ALL DAY, EVERY DAY like attendants do..
---
Online headline: "The government shutdown fight is about to get nasty over Democrats' key issue * One issue, the DACA immigration program, is likely to be the biggest sticking point in the negotiations. * The government will run out of funding if no bill is passed by January 19 to extend that deadline, which would result in a partial shutdown of the federal government. " -- You know.. DACA was not a Congressional Act.. it was an Obama "magic wand" decision.. and as far as putting pressure on DIMocrats to re-evaluate their positions on shutting down, Trump should issue his own Executive Order that no back pay will happen for "non-essential" government workers once the shutdown ends..I'm taking bets that there are very few "non-essential" government workers who vote for Republicans anyway. Besides, I have my own explanation of what DACA should stand for... "DIMocrats Against Caring for Americans".
---
---
The DACA issue is not one Congress caused nor confirmed..Obama waved his wand, and his DOJ ignored federal laws... just like what was done on our federal marijuana laws.
---
Correcting a typo from yesterday: L-E headline/story: "PAWN SHOP ROBBERY * Police say 2 tried to steal guns before shootout * Authorities were called to the Columbus Pawn Shop at 2241 Fort Benning Road around 12:05 p.m. Dec. 20 to investigate a shooting. They found 68-year-old Joseph Howard Johnson III unresponsive inside of the business with a single gunshot wound to the head. * Marquiell Wilson, 21, pleaded not guilty to murder during a hearing Wednesday. He was ordered held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail. Judge Julius Hunter bound the case over to Superior Court. * Wilson’s plea comes nearly a week after the second suspect in the case, a 15-year-old boy (Quintavis Williams), pleaded not guilty to murder." -- Both plead "not guilty" .. are we talking about the "mysterious magic bullet defense"? Wait a minute.. Marquiell Wilson plead "not guilty" yet another source (WTVM) reported that he admitted he was the one who shot Joseph Johnson and the other clerk.. We taxpayers NOT should be responsible for paying a public defender!
Seeing a video documented killer plead , under oath, "not guilty", should be treated as another crime...Marquiell Wilson, who shot the Columbus pawnshop clerk in the head but pleaded "not guilty" in court has perpetrated a fraud on the taxpayers by accepting a public defender.

Speaking of Marquiell Wilson, are we going to see his past records?
---
I'm about through listing "lists".. 24/7 Wall Street just "listed" the 50 worst Action Movies...Not only was my pick not #1, it wasn't even ON the list... No movie ever made has been a waste of time and talent than the Warren Beatty/Dustin Hoffman disaster, "Ishtar".
---
From the "I guess New York got Bill Clinton to define 'donation'" department - Online headline: "New York museum's $25 'donation' to be mandatory for out-of-staters" -- I guess DIMocrats believe that if Obama could impose a "mandatory" fine for not buying insurance, making "donations" mandatory works for them.
---
Online story" "Clinton crony George Stephanopoulos is facing increased pressure at ABC now that morning-show competitors Matt Lauer and Charlie Rose have been kicked to the curb over sexual misconduct allegations, and his eight-figure salary is sticking out like a sore thumb as NBC rolls out a fun-loving and far less expensive team during the first two hours of arch-rival “Today.” * The former top aide to the Clintons and close friend of Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is believed to earn roughly $15 million dollars a year at ABC, according to Business Insider, even though his role on “Good Morning America” is limited largely to political and hard-news stories and the show favors lighter stories more suited for ebullient co-hosts Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer." -- "believed to earn roughly $15 million dollars a year at ABC"? In my book, there's a difference between "earn" and being "given" a pay check. Hmmm.. I guess Bill Clinton defined "earn" for ABC.
---
Racism charges get bandied around pretty routinely by libs and DIMocrats, and most often without any valid support to those charges. We need to establish standards and ground rules for such. I suggest one basic standard be that if you support segregation..for that matter sit around and ignore it as it happens, then you're a racist... color does not matter.
---
Gonna revisit an observation I made last month..I usually buy Mayo in a squeeze bottle, and Hellman's makes the best squeeze bottle..but it's more pricey that way. Last month, my daughter wanted to make a LARGE pot of mashed potatoes, and asked if I'd buy the ingredients she needed..so... I went to buy a quart of mayo...and found that quarts are no longer available (nor liters either). Instead, I found 30 ounce jars. Why are they doing this...I think of the huge move our government made to convert 'us' to the metric weights/measures years ago, yet here (reduction to a non-standard sized jar) is a situation that should have been avoided.. Why didn't the "Mayo" companies simply collude and create a smaller jar standard...why not make the size used widespreadly by the liquor industry...the 1/5th of a gallon (25.6 ounces). They could have made it look more like a price reduction as well.
---
You know...I wonder..in this day of advanced electronics...why do people...particularly politicians have a sign language specialist on screen? Don't all TVs made in the last 20+ years have "caption" ability? And wouldn't a deaf person already have "caption" enabled TV? Just another waste of tax dollars
---
Heh heh heh -- Trump has been in office almost a year.. and has already given us a Tax Cut, and fixed Global Warming.
---
L-E headline: "OPEN RECORDS * Ledger-Enquirer sues to get classroom video of injured boy
* BY TIM CHITWOOD tchitwood@ledger-enquirer.com" -- Hey.. I thought Mark Rice was the L-E "go to: connection to the MCSD stories! Guess the L-E didn't want to create tension between Rice's wife and her boss.
---
Uber LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Not getting any better I work in the Government Center. It’s 58 degrees in my office and I’m not sure if the air blowing out my vents is warmer or colder than that. It’s time to do something." -- Hmm.. just confirms we have too many City employees who cannot leave on their own to get better jobs/working conditions. While we do have many well-qualified, it just takes ones like this to ruin it for all.
---
Uber LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Somehow, other nations manage it Canada and Denmark are two productive countries in the free world that place healthcare first. But here in America we have a scam going on." -- Obviously, a DIMocrat listening to other DIMocrats.. yet not willing to move..
---
From the "another judicial fail" department - L-E headline/story: "Homicide suspect killed police officer in ‘75 * The man charged in Columbus’ first homicide of 2018 was convicted of killing a Tennessee police officer in 1975 and has other felonies on his local court record, authorities said Thursday. * Police employed a SWAT squad Wednesday to capture Tommy McNeal, 65, at a home on Kendrick Avenue, charging him with the fatal Jan. 1 shooting of Nancy Johnson during a New Year’s Eve party on Colorado Street. * McNeal’s criminal history includes the March 17, 1975, murder of Officer Hugh Everette Eubanks of Bolivar, Tenn., who was killed after being called to a domestic dispute. * Upon his arrival, Eu-banks spoke with two men who told him nothing was wrong and no one had called police, authorities said. The officer was on the radio with a dispatcher when McNeal shot him three times in the chest with a .30-06 rifle, investigators said. * Though McNeal was sentenced to life in prison, he was paroled in 1982. * Columbus court records show McNeal was arrested for armed robbery, aggravated assault, being a convicted felon with a firearm and pointing a pistol at another person for an incident on Aug. 6, 2000." -- This animal.. shot an officer 3 times with a hunting rifle.. fully demonstrating zero regard for life and zero remorse for his actions but was pardoned.. then arrested 18 years later on another gun charge yet was paroled in 2005. Surely, that can be no compassion warranted for an animal like this.. Now, a woman.. a mother protecting her child is dead.. LIBERALS.. we can't live with them, but the laws say we can't shoot them... WHY NOT! They have no regard for laws they don't like, so why should we have to restrain ourselves. Well, we do.. because we are BETTER than them.
---
You know.. while mainscream media relies on its in-house polls to "justify" itself.. there's another poll of millions of Americans.. it's called the "DJIA.. (Dow Jones Industrial Average)"...a.k.a. "The DOW".. The Dow hit 25,000 yesterday.. Trump is keeping his promise to Make America Great Again.. and "Making Americans Prosperous Again".
---
L-E headline: "REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK * Macy’s at Peachtree Mall is a survivor once again" -- Hmmm... don't blame me.. I stopped shopping there when Macy's dumped Trump merchandise.
---
Oh.. guys.. take your brides to see "The Greatest Showman".. Sure, it's a chick-flick love story, but you will love it, too.. great music .. Hugh Jackman..
---
Running this again.. inadvertently, the pic I posted about the MCSD attendance issues being a great indicator of what the problems really are did not have the "caption" attached. This is a listing of schools with the percentage of students missing 15 or more days a year (mind you, as I understand it, there are guidelines saying 10 absences annually is all that are allowable for grade advancement:

From the "who will cast the first stone" department - Online headline: "New York braces for 'bomb cyclone' as snow starts hitting Queens" -- Hmm... and mainscream media, Pelosi, and Schumer will jockey for positions to be the first to "blame Trump"... for "hell freezing over".
---
Online headline/story: "New poll: Trump has highest approval rating since July * He stands at 39 percent overall, with 82 percent of Republicans, 34 percent of Independents and 8 percent of Democrats giving favorable responses. * the uptick in results may have been triggered in part by the passage of the GOP tax bill. " -- "may have been triggered 'in part' by the passage of the GOP tax bill"? Wonder if mainscream media was trying to say "the GOP tax CUT bill"? Actually, it purposefully avoided doing such.. but the important "number" is that 8% of cherry-picked DIMocrats have noticed Trump's success, and will not be happy with DIMocrat candidates wanting to repeal the Tax Cuts in the November elections.
---
Online headline: "Firefighters respond to fire at Clintons' home in Chappaqua, N.Y." -- Hmmm... didn't take long for the FD to get there and put it out.. maybe it was just her broom that caught fire... well. we do already know she wasn't in the kitchen "baking cookies"...
---
From the "could this simply be a wake up call" department - Online headline: "Magnitude 4.5 earthquake rocks San Francisco Bay Area" -- Hmmm... "hell freezing over" in NYC and "fire and brimstone" in San Francisco.. and I'm not talking about Schumer and Pelosi..
---
I tell you what.. if Republicans are going to be blamed for any government shut downs, then they ought to set up that no one who is not considered "essential" and doesn't work during the shut down not get back pay when the "shut down" stops.
---
Thanks to WTVM for publishing the name of the second killer in the pre-Christmas pawn shop killing. The L-E needs to remove "news" from its banner. ..Marquiell Wilson, 21.....joins Quintavis Williams, aged 15.. Now we need y=to know their "priors"
---
Mainscream doesn't...well doesn't WANT...to understand Trump...Trump knows the power he has at his fingertips, but also knows the power or perception when dealing with 3rd World..and mainscream media megalomaniacs. Back in my "beast days", I was out nightclubbing when an inebriated challenger tried to land a couple of suckerpunch haymakers. Having trained in boxing in my youth, I picked both swings off and no damage was felt.. his Adrenalin rush sobered him up, and as he reevaluated his position, he determined it was not going to be in his best interest to continue.. I just told him to go sit back down before someone...got hurt.
---
Former President Obama is directly responsible for the numerous 3rd world despots "rattling their sabers". It was Obama's "Apology Tour" that has emboldened these real rejects to command fear from their people to put up with their despotic rule.
---
Saw a pertinent...and poignant comment on Facebook yesterday..it was a comment about the bakers who refused to create a cake for a same sex wedding being vilified kn a court action. The analogy was well worth sharing with "The Breakfast Club"... Does this mean I can go into a Muslim sandwich shop and demand they make me a bacon/lettuce/tomato sandwich? And it doesn't matter whether they offer it on the menu.. it's what I want.

L-E headline/story: "HUD orders temporary evacuation of Ralston Towers * With temperatures expected to reach a low of 25 degrees Wednesday night, HUD officials told The Ralston’s management company to move out residents and temporarily house them in hotels until the heating issues can be repaired, said HUD spokesman Joe Phillips. * “All of the residents with insufficient heat have to be moved into local motels at the owner’s expense,” he said. * HUD was made aware of the lack of hot water and and portions of the facility being declared unsafe for human occupancy Wednesday morning by City Inspections and Code Director John Hudgison. * Hudgison said his office learned of the issues Tuesday morning when they returned to work from the three-day holiday weekend. * Ralston residents and staff were unaware of the decision from HUD and the building was calm and quiet when a Ledger-Enquirer reporter went to the tower shortly after 3 p.m. * However, she (Mayor) reiterated that it’s the company’s responsibility, not the city’s, to handle the evacuation. * HUD is responsible for the facility inspections of The Ralston. Through information posted inside the building, residents are encouraged to contact the National Housing Compliance in Atlanta with any issues. * The Housing Authority of Columbus has no control over project-based funding at The Ralston and is not involved with that project. * Columbus Housing Authority CEO Len Williams said Wednesday afternoon he was not aware of the HUD decision to have residents moved out of The Ralston." -- Good grief! This sounds like the plot line of a "Keystone Kops" sequel.. doesn't seem anyone is aware of anyone else..

An "almost gets it" L-E "soundoff": "The ‘Goodness of Their Hearts’ offer Apple admits downloading an “update” to slow my iPhone so I "might buy a new phone. Apple apologizes and offers me the opportunity to spend $26 for a new battery. What a great marketing campaign!" -- Hmmm.. and the 8 ton elephant walks around the room unnoticed.. what about batteries in iPads and MAC/Airbooks? How many people have been "conned" to buy a new version because the old one was "slowing" down?
---
L-E headline/story: "PAWN SHOP ROBBERY * Police say 2 tried to steal guns before shootout * Authorities were called to the Columbus Pawn Shop at 2241 Fort Benning Road around 12:05 p.m. We taxpayers should be responsible for paying a public defender!
---
How can any true American be against defending our borders from the siege of illegal entry?
---
From the "can even DIMocrats say, "Thank you" to President Trump" department - L-E story: "Regions Financial Corp., which operates four bank offices in the Columbus market, has pledged to pay its employees a minimum wage of $15 per hour, while also pumping an additional $140 million into the communities in which it does business.
* Like other companies have done in recent days, Birmingham, Ala.-based Regions noted in a release Tuesday that the money it is now promising to invest comes “in anticipation of the savings it will recognize as a result of federal tax reform intended to support economic growth.” -- "“in anticipation of the savings it will recognize as a result of federal tax reform intended to support economic growth.”? Good grief.. even corporations supporting DIMocrats will not admit that this is feasible.. possible.. because of the Trump inspired, Republican backed TAX CUT bill.. not "federal tax reform".

L-E guest commentary headline/content: "Happy New (election) Year * BY CHARLIE HARPER *
GeorgiaPol.com * "Likewise, Democrats funded by teachers’ unions/associations often start with the platitude that they will fix education. The metric usually offered is that of spending. If any accountability metric is attached to teacher or school performance, the conversation is quickly shifted to why money isn’t the only problem in education. And then back to why money is all that is needed." -- This is the crux of the problem.. teachers believing DIMocrats' political promises... and the unions are only interested in the revenue flow versus results.
---
L-E story image:

This chart alone pretty delineates the successful and failures in school results..and should the conversations as to how to improve the failures..

HuffPOOPOO headline: "President Trump threatens to cut aid to Palestinians" -- Hmmm... and why were we giving them money to begin with.. to keep them placated... bribed.. to limit their antagonism?
---
From the "so much for '15 minutes/years of fame' " department - Carson Palmer has announced his retirement? I had to read the story to find out who Carson Palmer was... is... The story said he was the QB for the Arizona Cardinals... no help... then the story mentioned he was the 2002 Heisman winner from Southern Cal... Who was/is Carson Palmer?
---
From the "I knew this was coming" department - Online headline: "University of Central Florida athletic director proclaims team national champs after bowl win" -- Hmm.. and he has a pretty good argument... and without the "playoff system", a VERY good argument.. undefeated, and beat Auburn which beat handily both teams playing in the Championship game on Monday.
---
From the "Stupid is as Stupid says" department - Online headline: "Lindsey Graham: US would pull out of Winter Olympics if North Korea attends" -- Good grief...It's not even Graham's "call", but why bring up an "it ain't gonna happen possibility" to begin with that has no escape route for America? Don't send the team there if the motivation is for safety, not because of Kim Jong Oooops' ego, but don't give this pond scum a spotlight to make himself look "big" in the eyes of libs and 3rd World despots.
---
From the "OObamaCRAP.. British version" department - Online headline/story: "Badly strained UK hospitals to delay non-urgent procedures * National Health Service England officials are telling hospitals to delay some procedures to free up staff and beds to deal with emergency patients. * The restrictions are set to last until at least the end of January and are predicted to affect around 55,000 operations." -- Welcome to the ongoing future on one-source healthcare..
---
Hmmm...now UGA's Rose Bowl record..2-0!
---
California's state debt is $1.7 TRILLION... about $33,000 per Californian . California also just raised its its gasoline taxes to .50 cents a gallon.. unless you're a politician or state management...then you get free gas..maybe even a free car. Now, even if you try to take you family out of California to shake the state debt of $33K per person.. they figure you'll pay for it in gas taxes on the way out.
---
As a rule, especially after a DIMocrat has slinked into the White House, there is usually a midterm "revolt" following a sobering up of voters seeing what Socialists really bring to the table. Don't look for it in 2018..The Republicans biggest issue is voters throwing out RINOs with the DIMocrats in the "swampwater".
---
As "probablized" last week, it's UGA vs Bama in the championship game..as I noted, the FBS needs to restructure its ranking protocols. In the Top 4, numbers 3 and 4 were favored..and took measure of numbers 1 & 2, and now number 4 is favored over number 3. Maybe the FBS ought to listen to the Las Vegas oddsmakers for ranking advice.
---
Political pundits keep saying Trump will have be more restrained and work with Republican candidates to get them elected....WRONG! Republican candidates need to grasp the energy that Trump gives them that the American voters are excited about, and seeking .
---
From the "unfortunately.. for libs.. it's the truth" department - They are very available online so I'm not going to publish pics of them here, but "trolls" have really captured the state of chaos in California by adding "welcome" signs to the State's "welcome signs" celebrating California becoming a "Sanctuary State" on Jan 1st. Some signs are welcoming in "Felons, Drug Dealers, and MS 13" and others welcome low wage nannies and farm workers. Private sector satire is much more illuminating than mainscream media coverups. Case in point, "The Breakfast Club".

Online headline/story: "'Mapping the Swamp' report finds 30,000 feds earn more than any governor * “Nearly 30,000 rank-and-file federal employees who received more than $190,823 out-earned each of the 50 state governors,” the report said. * According to the report, the number of federal employees making $200,000 or more increased by 165 percent between fiscal 2010 and 2016. Federal employees making $150,000 or more grew by 60 percent, with the number making more than $100,000 increasing by 37 percent in the same time period. * According to the "Mapping the Swamp" report, a total of 406,960 federal employees made six-figure incomes in fiscal 2016 – that’s roughly one in five federal employees. " -- You know, until "W" and Obama, no president of the USA was paid more than $200K annually.. and Obama tapped into the treasury pool and put in a large diameter spigot to replace the old "teat" his friends drank from.

From the "other facts found looking up other facts" department: "In fiscal 2016, the United States Postal Service and the Department of Veterans Affairs employed more than half of federal employees. USPS employed 32 percent of all disclosed federal employees, totaling 621,523 people on the payroll; and the VA employed the second-most employees with 372,614." -- There are nearly half as many US Postal employees as there are active military personnel in ALL our branches! We have 1,373,650 +/- active US military personnel and 621,253 +/- US Postal employees..
---
Online story: "A former U.S. Navy sailor has fallen on hard times after serving a year in jail for taking photos of classified areas inside a nuclear submarine, and says a tweet by President Trump on Tuesday morning has restored his hope for a pardon." -- Good grief.. while taking the pictures wasn't right, it's like a pimple on an Elephants butt compared to Huma Abedin passing on state department access passwords to foreign agents!
---
L-E headline: "Somehow, Senate Dems united as 2018 opens" -- DIMs..united?.. Only in subterfuge and the destruction of America.
---
The "Today" show has announced it's replacement hostess for Matt Lauer... .. Koda Hotb. Maybe NBC should update the show's title... "الوَÙ‚ْت الحاضِر اليَÙˆْÙ…"
---
Lack of perspective LIV's L-E "soundoff": "They deserve our gratitude Thankful to the men who pick up the recycled materials and trash from our homes. They ride on the back of a truck in the freezing cold and rain, and lift heavy loads. Thank you!"-- Hmm.. thankful.. OK, but not grateful... lets not forget the actions they made to put them in this situation, and that being "rewarded" to participate is a desired action by inmates.. We can be thankful, for sure, that these men are trying to change their past..be also thankful for our social services programs that support their continuing growth once their time has been served.
---
From the "can we all say, 'Thank you, President Trump!' " department - L-E headline/story: "TSYS giving most employees one-time $1,000 cash bonus TSYS giving most employees one-time $1,000 cash bonus" -- Hmmm... Columbus is about to receive ANOTHER nearly $5,000,000.00 in local cash influx ... we just had one announced by AFLAC, and numerous other National companies are already doing so.. Hey, Columbus DIMocrat voters.. remember who didn't feel you deserved a Tax Cut and the benefits of it when you go to the primaries in May and the ballot boxes in November!
---
L-E story: "A failure of the heating system has forced the city to close the Government Center on Wednesday, Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson said. * The Government Center’s tower and east and west wings will be closed after a part went out on a boiler valve, she said. Normal hours of operations and all city services in these buildings will resume on Thursday. * Government Center Maintenance Supervisor Jerry Gowen said an electrical part on a gas valve for the boiler had to be replaced. " -- Very convenient.. and coincidental.... but do you really believe in coincidences when politicians have their own agenda at stake?
---
L-E headline/story: "Hatch to retire from Senate * Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, the longest-serving Senate Republican, announced Tuesday he will retire at the end of the year, rebuffing the pleas of President Donald Trump to seek an eighth term and paving the way for Mitt Romney, a critic of Trump’s, to run for the seat." -- Hmmm... this will indeed be a epiphany moment for Mitt Romney... does he side with establishment Republicans/RINOs who advised him to back off from pummeling Obama after the first debate which cost him being elected president, or does he embrace the "Make America Great Again" momentum of the Trump policies?
---
From the "if you're a NFL boycotter, you'll understand" department - When did the Rams go back to Los Angeles.. Oh.. and does this mean St Louis doesn't have a team anymore?
---
From the "I wish" department - When Alabama lineman Da'Ron Payne caught that interception and the following TD pass. I wish John Madden had been announcing.. Madden loved "big people" making unexpected splashes.
---
L-E headline: "Customers jam stores as Calif. starts recreational pot sales" -- Well, if there are any consolations, maybe it's they won't have enough money left over to buy gas since the gas tax just went up to 50-cents a gallon.
---
From the "why does McDonald's hire stupid researchers" department - L-E story: "McDonald’s is testing the use of fresh beef in another burger, the latest move by the fast food chain to swap out frozen beef as it seeks to improve its image. * The company said Tuesday that the new burger, called Archburger, is being tested in seven McDonald’s restaurants in Tulsa, Oklahoma. McDonald’s held similar tests for fresh beef Quarter Pounders for about a year before announcing in March that it would roll it out to most of its 14,000 restaurants by the middle of this year. McDonald’s said the latest test is limited, and it is seeking feedback from customers and its restaurants." -- Good grief.. it's not rocket science to know fresh beef tastes better than frozen.. why does McDonald's pay these people?
---
From the "temper tantrum capital of the world" department - L-E headline/story: "Pakistan bashes New Year’s Day tweet by Trump * Pakistan fired back Tuesday after President Donald Trump accused it of harboring terrorists, calling his New Year’s Day tweet “completely incomprehensible. * The government summoned the U.S. ambassador to complain but stopped short of demands by protesting Islamic groups to expel the envoy." -- Hmmm.. "stopped short of" of expelling the American envoy? Guess Pakistan knows how long it's chain is.. and looking at the picture, it's obvious... by the use of English in the protest signs.. that the "protest" was put on for the American mainscream media's benefit.

From the "he almost got it right" department - L-E guest commentary: "Liberals endure plague of purges * BY FRANCIS WILKINSON * Bloomberg View * Liberals are at a loss." -- "liberals are AT a loss"? Liberals ARE a loss!

From the "well, happy new year" department - Online headline: "James Comey hopes for 'ethical leadership' in 2018" -- Good grief.. Comey could have GIVEN us "ethical leadership" but didn't when he had the chance.

Temps are heading down below freezing in Florida (it's 19 degrees here in Columbus, GA as I type).. Hey, Algore, how about a "flyover" in your jet.. maybe the exhaust will provide some "local warming".
---
Wow.. GA vs Bama next Monday night.. The rest of the country will see first hand that college football in other conference will have to step-up-their-game.. either that, or their states will have to legalize marijuana to absorb the reality... and the pain.
---
Matt and his wife Annette, through Orange Lakes Ltd, purchased a 16,000-acre cattle and sheep farm near Lake Wanaka on New Zealand's South Island earlier this year. But New Zealand’s Overseas Investment Office, which regulates foreign investment in New Zealand, stipulates foreigners who seek to purchase land in New Zealand must be "of good character." -- Hmm.. if I have to move my family, I want be looking for a "Safe Zone".. I'm heading for a "Liberal Free Zone", and New Zealand looks like a good fit!
---
Hmm.. so Bernie thinks all Vermont college students should get a free ride paid for by the citizens of Vermont.. Looks like Vermont is the number 2 state for its college grads that leave the state following their graduation.. 69.54% leave.. maybe Vermont citizens need to smarten up and get rid of Bernie..
---
CNN is surely not trying to be a role model... at least I hope not.. in the CNN New Year's Special, one "journalist" smoke marijuana "live", and another kissed his boyfriend "live". Surely the FCC has some regulations about what CNN employees can/can't do on air....
---
It's gonna be a long 7 years for Auburn fans...wins over GA and Bama wiped out the fans hopes Malzahn would be gone, but instead he'll be a very expensive "buy out" through the 2024 season, by finishing up with embarrassing losses in the SEC Championship and Peach Bowl, this will be what the Auburn fans remember.. not the wins over the two Championship game teams.. Bet a lot of Auburn fans with they had kept enough toilet paper to wipe themselves clean of the 2017-18 season.
---
Don't you know UCF will have something to say about not being ranked #1 at the end of the FBS playoff season? UCF is the last man standing with an undefeated season record, and it beat the team that beat both of the teams playing in the FBS Championship game..
---
According to City Manager, Isaiah Hugley, the new Spencer High School will be the "best in Georgia" (hmmm..strange that this confidence is not coming from the MCSD/MCSB), how about transferring all the CHS students there to have access to the high tech aspects...then transfer all the Spencer High students to CHS to take advantage of the already proven successful curriculum.
---
Yesterday was not a good day for "tigers".. Auburn, LSU, and Clemson were all declawed on National TV.
---
In retrospect.. the FBI has a long way to go to recover confidence in its commitment to make average American citizens respect the upper managements' decisions. The same folks that tried to protect Hellary from real crimes are trying to create crimes to charge Trump..in effect..at this time.. the FBI image is more blood splattered than Hellary's..

L-E story: "Obama shared an eclectic list of his favorite songs and books of 2017 Sunday on his Facebook page, including Jay-Z’s “Family Feud” and Styles’ “Sign of the Times.” The 22-song list also singled out Lamar’s “Humble,” U2’s “Ordinary Love (Extraordinary Mix)” and Stapleton’s “Millionaire." -- What an admission ... Obama extends his list of "favorites" from the past year..You know, he did this throughout his presidency.. just shows that he had too much time for taking care of his own wants to attend to the needs of the country.. I cannot name 22 songs/books released in 2017, much less narrow it down to my favorite 22.
---
I guess the L-E really loved the fact that UGA won the exciting Rose Bowl before it's "journalists" went off duty.. The L-E got a front page story that didn't harbor on the multiple shootings a deaths that happened on New Year's Day.
---
From the "how libs try to 'redistibute' the truth" department - Online headline: "Chicago homicides fall 16 percent in 2017" -- Of course the "rest of the story is" that Chicago street homicides dropped 16% from last year which went up 61% from the year before.. There's really not a "drop", it's just that there were less violent people on the streets this year killing other people.
---
Did you see Penn State's star running back Saquon Barkley making his first appearance on ESPN yesterday... there's nothing more futile than a football player trying to convince people of his humbleness by proclaiming it loudly.

Happy New Year...I have a resolution for the Columbus L-E to make...The L-E should not rest until it fully investigates the charges Jehmu Greene made accusing Calvin Smyre of very inappropriate activity on an elevator at the 1996 DIMocrat National Convention..leave no stone unturned, L-E! Save Calvin!

Ringo.... as in Ringo Starr... drummer boy of the Beatles... OK.. but Sir Ringo? Gimmee a break...yeah-yeah-yeah.....

I remember when Jan 1st was BOWL DAY...Sugar, Cotton, Gator, Rose, and Orange Bowl day..Gator Bowl is now the Taxslayer Bowl, and it and the Orange Bowl were played on this past Saturday, and the Cotton Bowl was played Friday. Now on January 1st, only the Sugar and Rose remain being played on "the" traditional bowl day. Hmmm.. and next year, the NCAA needs to change the name of the Taxslayer Bowl...I think a good name would be "The Trump Bowl"!
---
You know.. if "the government" is going to "forgive" loans for students who enrolled at sham institutions, it should only be initiated if "the government" goes after every "sham institution" employee who received any compensation for any services rendered to such "sham institution".

Uber-stupor LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I just read that Hillary’s popularity has dropped to 36 percent. Having just finished reading her book, I have developed a new appreciation for Hillary. At least she’s intelligent." -- "at least she's intelligent"? Only in the sense Hellary is "smarter" than the reader who just shelled out money to buy her book...Sadly,, the "soundoffer" still believes his/herself to be intelligent..
---
You know, when "journalists" report a story based on unnamed or anonymous sources, the "journalists" are only interested in getting a story published.. truth be damned...
---
As Mayor Tom-LYING-son begins her LAST year in turmoil, how about a recap... an update.. on how her "End Homelessness in Columbus in 10 years" project has progressed...seems to me, the homeless service organizations are stressed out needing more money for a growing problem.

Guest editorial content in Columbus L-E: "“Biggest Winner”: Let’s hear it for Doug Jones, Alabama’s first Democratic senator-elect in more than 20 years. Although Jones was helped notably by allegations of pedophilia against his Republican opponent, Roy Moore, his nail-biter of a victory in the deeply conservative state encouraged Democrats as much as Donald Trump’s presidential victory over Hillary Clinton had depressed them.
Coming a few weeks behind a “blue wave” of surprisingly large off-year Democratic victories in Virginia and New Jersey, Jones won with the help of a larger-than-usual turnout of women, especially black women, in a race that saw a larger turnout than usual among blacks and lower-than-usual among whites. No wonder Republicans criticize Democratic “identity politics” so much, even as they practice more conservative versions of their own." -- If this is the cornerstone DIMocrats plan to build momentum, they are starting with a flat tire.. Jones won only 1 of the 7 Congressional Districts and won over all by less than 2%.. In addition, it took a 93% turnout of 2016 DIMocrat voter while less than half of the 2016 Republican voters went to the poll. And "big wins" in NJ and VA is a little, well A LOT over the top.. Both are highly DIMocrat based states... But as far as I'm concerned, I hope the DIMocrats do build continue to build on their foundation of sand.

I've been pretty true to my 2 year boycott of the NFL for not stepping up and correction the flag/military/law enforcement disrespect initiated by Colin KaeperPRICK.. I have been so diligent that it was yesterday morning that I learned.. by an accidental notice .. that the Cleveland Browns were 0-15 for 2017 going into their game with Pittsburgh later Sunday.... Update.. couldn't avoid hearing Cleveland finished with a perfect record...YES!
---
I'm going out to buy a new printer this week.. I finally decided to stop buying HP products because their "support team" had not been supportive of my last two purchases not living up to previous purchases in performance. I bought a new printer.. an EPSON last Spring, and in 3 months started getting deteriorating results.. no amount of routine "maintenance options" (nozzle cleaning, head alignment, or ink flushing) would clear up the black printhead. and it has become pretty much useless as a photo printer.. Any one have a recommendation of a non-HP or EPSON color inkjet printer?
From the "Forrest Gump 'Stupid is as Stupid does' " department - I'm amazed at the consistency of Nancy Pelosi...I'm guessing she calls Trump voters stupid because she hasn't read a dictionary to learn the definition, nor could find 'deplorables' so she could know how to spell and pronounce it.
---
Mainscream media seems perplexed that the Irani people are protesting more loudly than in the last 10 +/- years. Hmmm ..could that simply be that the Irani people knew Obama would support the current despots rather than help them?
---
I just listened to a DIMocrat spinmeister say that Trump hasn't repealed OObamaCRAP and that will hurt Republicans. Good grief..the OObamaCRAP mandate just was neutered by the Tax Cut bill, so for all intent, OObamaCRAP will die own its own before the end of 2018.
---
We're winning! I had seen "suggestions" this was happening but waited to see for myself....The NFL Sunday Night football game was "bumped" for a game show.. . Guess the networks hate having to refund ad revenues when viewer numbers drop below a contract number.
---
Online headline: "NORTH KOREA * Kim Jong Un claims he has 'nuclear button' on his desk" -- Yes.. now Trump knows where he will be under duress... and can send in one microwave missile and fry the brains of the computer system ... and Kim Jong Oooop's at the same time.
---
From the "now we have clear conspiracy evidence that Hellary was trying to wrongly "influence" the November 2016 Election" department - Online headline/story: "Hillary Clinton backer paid $500G to fund women accusing Trump of sexual misconduct before Election Day, report says * One of Hillary Clinton’s wealthy pals paid $500,000 in an unsuccessful effort to fund women willing to accuse President Trump of sexual misconduct before the 2016 election, The New York Times reported Sunday. * Susie Tompkins Buell, the founder of Esprit Clothing and a major Clinton campaign donor for many years, gave the money to celebrity lawyer Lisa Bloom who was working with a number of Trump accusers at the time, according to the paper’s bombshell report." -- Wow.. even Hellary will be out yelling "Fake News" at the New York Times.. because the NYT is as close to a Bible as most libs have read. Hmmm... wonder if PETA will protest the use of $500,000.00 to support "political cows" versus "animal cows"?
---
Online headline/story: "Trump pulls brakes on $13B Obama-backed rail-tunnel plan * Trump pulls brakes on $13B Obama-backed rail-tunnel plan * The original Obama-era plan called for costs to be split among New York state, New Jersey and the federal government." -- Hey.. NY..NJ... now you'll have to raise your state/local taxes to pay for it, but.. if you do, more people will move out of your states, and not as many people will be using the rail-tunnel.. so you can scrap the project altogether and remove the existing taxes as well as new ones!
---
Online story: "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts said on Sunday he would launch a review in 2018 of how the federal judiciary handles sexual harassment, following the recent resignation of a U.S. appeals court judge amid allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct and comments." -- Hmmm.. good start.. but a better one would be investigating how mainscream media handles .. and become "judge & jury" on unsworn, uninvestigated charges.
---
Online headline: "Trump accused of not spending enough time with Barron by Democrat Steve Cohen" -- Hmmm... of course this is another DIMocrat's lie, as Trump is obviously working hard to Make America Great Again... for his son as well as all our children/grandchildren. Au contraire, Trump could "tweet" back that Steve Cohen has not spent ANY time helping his TN constituents by supporting Pelosi...
---
-- Hmmm... $56,000,000.00.. 200,000 sq ft... 60 classrooms... Good grief... the MCSD is spending $280.00 a square ft for a new school with 60 classrooms, and while I haven't seen a number this year, last year the MCSD had 127 UNUSED classrooms available for use..in defense... at $280.00 a square foot or a high tech building, it is a better use of tax dollars than the metal-on-slab wrestling buildings that are being built at $312.00 a square ft! Of course..Amazon is building an ultra high-tech "fulfillment center" near MACON at $90.00 a square ft.....

From the same L-E report as above: "City Manager Isaiah Hugley said the city isn’t done with the area, and more changes are on the way. A graduate of Spencer, Hugley agrees the cost of the school is a big investment in the community. * “It’s going to be the best in Columbus, the best in Georgia,” he told a gathering of more than 95 residents. * Since 2014, the city has been busy acquiring property to revitalize the area. “We are not done yet,” he said. “We are working to acquire more property.” * Just because the land is near the new school, Hugley noted the city will not pay more than fair-market value for property where people aren’t taking care of it. * “We are going to clean up Benning Road,” the city manager said. * The city already is moving forward on plans for a 12-foot wide walking and biking trail along Fort Benning Road. A right-of-way coordinator is acquiring property for a roundabout at Fort Benning, Cusseta and Brennan roads. There also is a streetscape project from Shelby Street to the intersection of Brennan Road." -- Excuse me, but where has the City shown it has a "magic wand" for turning eyesores into prosperity.. or, for that matter, just the ability...no, more like
"the interest" in maintaining our existing buildings?

L-E headline/story: "Supreme Court to take up Ohio’s purges of inactive voters * Joseph Helle was expecting a different sort of reception when he returned home from Army tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and showed up to vote in his small Ohio town near Lake Erie. *
His name was missing from the voting rolls in 2011, even though Helle had registered to vote before leaving home at 18 and hadn’t changed his address during his military service. * The case has taken on added importance because the parties have squared off over ballot access across the country. Democrats have accused Republicans of trying to suppress votes from minorities and poorer people who tend to vote for Democrats. Republicans have argued that they are trying to promote ballot integrity and prevent voter fraud. Only a handful of states use a process similar to Ohio’s, but others could join in if the high court sides with the state." -- You know.. as much effort as the DIMocrats spend driving voters to the polls, you'd think that there would be no legitimate DIMocrat voters who haven't voted so their names won't be purged for "not voting". On the other hand, all those casting ballots under a given name should be able to show that they are who they say they are.
