From the "Oregon.. the ultimate 'snowflake' state" department - Online headline/story: "People in Oregon are now legally allowed to pump their own gas — and some people are really mad about it * Comments: “Yuck! Pumping my [own] fuel in freezing temperatures and handling a nasty ole fuel nozzle that 50 other people have touched that day (and who knows what cooties are on there), no thank you. It’s nice to not have to pump your own fuel.” and "Does no one consider the cumulative effects of breathing in small amounts of gas over time? Lung cancer rates will skyrocket. Who knows how this will effect (sic) other body systems". -- Apparently, Oregonian snowflakes have no concern about the effects of "breathing in small amounts of gas" ALL DAY, EVERY DAY like attendants do..

Online headline: "The government shutdown fight is about to get nasty over Democrats' key issue * One issue, the DACA immigration program, is likely to be the biggest sticking point in the negotiations. * The government will run out of funding if no bill is passed by January 19 to extend that deadline, which would result in a partial shutdown of the federal government. " -- You know.. DACA was not a Congressional Act.. it was an Obama "magic wand" decision.. and as far as putting pressure on DIMocrats to re-evaluate their positions on shutting down, Trump should issue his own Executive Order that no back pay will happen for "non-essential" government workers once the shutdown ends..I'm taking bets that there are very few "non-essential" government workers who vote for Republicans anyway. Besides, I have my own explanation of what DACA should stand for... "DIMocrats Against Caring for Americans".

The DACA issue is not one Congress caused nor confirmed..Obama waved his wand, and his DOJ ignored federal laws... just like what was done on our federal marijuana laws.

Correcting a typo from yesterday: L-E headline/story: "PAWN SHOP ROBBERY * Police say 2 tried to steal guns before shootout * Authorities were called to the Columbus Pawn Shop at 2241 Fort Benning Road around 12:05 p.m. Dec. 20 to investigate a shooting. They found 68-year-old Joseph Howard Johnson III unresponsive inside of the business with a single gunshot wound to the head. * Marquiell Wilson, 21, pleaded not guilty to murder during a hearing Wednesday. He was ordered held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail. Judge Julius Hunter bound the case over to Superior Court. * Wilson’s plea comes nearly a week after the second suspect in the case, a 15-year-old boy (Quintavis Williams), pleaded not guilty to murder." -- Both plead "not guilty" .. are we talking about the "mysterious magic bullet defense"? Wait a minute.. Marquiell Wilson plead "not guilty" yet another source (WTVM) reported that he admitted he was the one who shot Joseph Johnson and the other clerk.. We taxpayers NOT should be responsible for paying a public defender!
Seeing a video documented killer plead , under oath, "not guilty", should be treated as another crime...Marquiell Wilson, who shot the Columbus pawnshop clerk in the head but pleaded "not guilty" in court has perpetrated a fraud on the taxpayers by accepting a public defender.

Speaking of Marquiell Wilson, are we going to see his past records?

I'm about through listing "lists".. 24/7 Wall Street just "listed" the 50 worst Action Movies...Not only was my pick not #1, it wasn't even ON the list... No movie ever made has been a waste of time and talent than the Warren Beatty/Dustin Hoffman disaster, "Ishtar".

From the "I guess New York got Bill Clinton to define 'donation'" department - Online headline: "New York museum's $25 'donation' to be mandatory for out-of-staters" -- I guess DIMocrats believe that if Obama could impose a "mandatory" fine for not buying insurance, making "donations" mandatory works for them.
---
Online story" "Clinton crony George Stephanopoulos is facing increased pressure at ABC now that morning-show competitors Matt Lauer and Charlie Rose have been kicked to the curb over sexual misconduct allegations, and his eight-figure salary is sticking out like a sore thumb as NBC rolls out a fun-loving and far less expensive team during the first two hours of arch-rival “Today.” * The former top aide to the Clintons and close friend of Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is believed to earn roughly $15 million dollars a year at ABC, according to Business Insider, even though his role on “Good Morning America” is limited largely to political and hard-news stories and the show favors lighter stories more suited for ebullient co-hosts Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer." -- "believed to earn roughly $15 million dollars a year at ABC"? In my book, there's a difference between "earn" and being "given" a pay check. Hmmm.. I guess Bill Clinton defined "earn" for ABC.

Racism charges get bandied around pretty routinely by libs and DIMocrats, and most often without any valid support to those charges. We need to establish standards and ground rules for such. I suggest one basic standard be that if you support segregation..for that matter sit around and ignore it as it happens, then you're a racist... color does not matter.

Gonna revisit an observation I made last month..I usually buy Mayo in a squeeze bottle, and Hellman's makes the best squeeze bottle..but it's more pricey that way. Last month, my daughter wanted to make a LARGE pot of mashed potatoes, and asked if I'd buy the ingredients she needed..so... I went to buy a quart of mayo...and found that quarts are no longer available (nor liters either). Instead, I found 30 ounce jars. Why are they doing this...I think of the huge move our government made to convert 'us' to the metric weights/measures years ago, yet here (reduction to a non-standard sized jar) is a situation that should have been avoided.. Why didn't the "Mayo" companies simply collude and create a smaller jar standard...why not make the size used widespreadly by the liquor industry...the 1/5th of a gallon (25.6 ounces). They could have made it look more like a price reduction as well.

You know...I wonder..in this day of advanced electronics...why do people...particularly politicians have a sign language specialist on screen? Don't all TVs made in the last 20+ years have "caption" ability? And wouldn't a deaf person already have "caption" enabled TV? Just another waste of tax dollars

Heh heh heh -- Trump has been in office almost a year.. and has already given us a Tax Cut, and fixed Global Warming.

L-E headline: "OPEN RECORDS * Ledger-Enquirer sues to get classroom video of injured boy
* BY TIM CHITWOOD tchitwood@ledger-enquirer.com" -- Hey.. I thought Mark Rice was the L-E "go to: connection to the MCSD stories! Guess the L-E didn't want to create tension between Rice's wife and her boss.

Uber LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Not getting any better I work in the Government Center. It’s 58 degrees in my office and I’m not sure if the air blowing out my vents is warmer or colder than that. It’s time to do something." -- Hmm.. just confirms we have too many City employees who cannot leave on their own to get better jobs/working conditions. While we do have many well-qualified, it just takes ones like this to ruin it for all.
---
Uber LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Somehow, other nations manage it Canada and Denmark are two productive countries in the free world that place healthcare first. But here in America we have a scam going on." -- Obviously, a DIMocrat listening to other DIMocrats.. yet not willing to move..

From the "another judicial fail" department - L-E headline/story: "Homicide suspect killed police officer in ‘75 * The man charged in Columbus’ first homicide of 2018 was convicted of killing a Tennessee police officer in 1975 and has other felonies on his local court record, authorities said Thursday. * Police employed a SWAT squad Wednesday to capture Tommy McNeal, 65, at a home on Kendrick Avenue, charging him with the fatal Jan. 1 shooting of Nancy Johnson during a New Year’s Eve party on Colorado Street. * McNeal’s criminal history includes the March 17, 1975, murder of Officer Hugh Everette Eubanks of Bolivar, Tenn., who was killed after being called to a domestic dispute. * Upon his arrival, Eu-banks spoke with two men who told him nothing was wrong and no one had called police, authorities said. The officer was on the radio with a dispatcher when McNeal shot him three times in the chest with a .30-06 rifle, investigators said. * Though McNeal was sentenced to life in prison, he was paroled in 1982. * Columbus court records show McNeal was arrested for armed robbery, aggravated assault, being a convicted felon with a firearm and pointing a pistol at another person for an incident on Aug. 6, 2000." -- This animal.. shot an officer 3 times with a hunting rifle.. fully demonstrating zero regard for life and zero remorse for his actions but was pardoned.. then arrested 18 years later on another gun charge yet was paroled in 2005. Surely, that can be no compassion warranted for an animal like this.. Now, a woman.. a mother protecting her child is dead.. LIBERALS.. we can't live with them, but the laws say we can't shoot them... WHY NOT! They have no regard for laws they don't like, so why should we have to restrain ourselves. Well, we do.. because we are BETTER than them.

You know.. while mainscream media relies on its in-house polls to "justify" itself.. there's another poll of millions of Americans.. it's called the "DJIA.. (Dow Jones Industrial Average)"...a.k.a. "The DOW".. The Dow hit 25,000 yesterday.. Trump is keeping his promise to Make America Great Again.. and "Making Americans Prosperous Again".
---
L-E headline: "REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK * Macy’s at Peachtree Mall is a survivor once again" -- Hmmm... don't blame me.. I stopped shopping there when Macy's dumped Trump merchandise.
---
Oh.. guys.. take your brides to see "The Greatest Showman".. Sure, it's a chick-flick love story, but you will love it, too.. great music .. Hugh Jackman..

Running this again.. inadvertently, the pic I posted about the MCSD attendance issues being a great indicator of what the problems really are did not have the "caption" attached. This is a listing of schools with the percentage of students missing 15 or more days a year (mind you, as I understand it, there are guidelines saying 10 absences annually is all that are allowable for grade advancement:
