Happy New Year...I have a resolution for the Columbus L-E to make...The L-E should not rest until it fully investigates the charges Jehmu Greene made accusing Calvin Smyre of very inappropriate activity on an elevator at the 1996 DIMocrat National Convention..leave no stone unturned, L-E! Save Calvin!

Ringo.... as in Ringo Starr... drummer boy of the Beatles... OK.. but Sir Ringo? Gimmee a break...yeah-yeah-yeah.....

I remember when Jan 1st was BOWL DAY...Sugar, Cotton, Gator, Rose, and Orange Bowl day..Gator Bowl is now the Taxslayer Bowl, and it and the Orange Bowl were played on this past Saturday, and the Cotton Bowl was played Friday. Now on January 1st, only the Sugar and Rose remain being played on "the" traditional bowl day. Hmmm.. and next year, the NCAA needs to change the name of the Taxslayer Bowl...I think a good name would be "The Trump Bowl"!

You know.. if "the government" is going to "forgive" loans for students who enrolled at sham institutions, it should only be initiated if "the government" goes after every "sham institution" employee who received any compensation for any services rendered to such "sham institution".

Uber-stupor LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I just read that Hillary’s popularity has dropped to 36 percent. Having just finished reading her book, I have developed a new appreciation for Hillary. At least she’s intelligent." -- "at least she's intelligent"? Only in the sense Hellary is "smarter" than the reader who just shelled out money to buy her book...Sadly,, the "soundoffer" still believes his/herself to be intelligent..

You know, when "journalists" report a story based on unnamed or anonymous sources, the "journalists" are only interested in getting a story published.. truth be damned...

As Mayor Tom-LYING-son begins her LAST year in turmoil, how about a recap... an update.. on how her "End Homelessness in Columbus in 10 years" project has progressed...seems to me, the homeless service organizations are stressed out needing more money for a growing problem.

Guest editorial content in Columbus L-E: "“Biggest Winner”: Let’s hear it for Doug Jones, Alabama’s first Democratic senator-elect in more than 20 years. Although Jones was helped notably by allegations of pedophilia against his Republican opponent, Roy Moore, his nail-biter of a victory in the deeply conservative state encouraged Democrats as much as Donald Trump’s presidential victory over Hillary Clinton had depressed them.
Coming a few weeks behind a “blue wave” of surprisingly large off-year Democratic victories in Virginia and New Jersey, Jones won with the help of a larger-than-usual turnout of women, especially black women, in a race that saw a larger turnout than usual among blacks and lower-than-usual among whites. No wonder Republicans criticize Democratic “identity politics” so much, even as they practice more conservative versions of their own." -- If this is the cornerstone DIMocrats plan to build momentum, they are starting with a flat tire.. Jones won only 1 of the 7 Congressional Districts and won over all by less than 2%.. In addition, it took a 93% turnout of 2016 DIMocrat voter while less than half of the 2016 Republican voters went to the poll. And "big wins" in NJ and VA is a little, well A LOT over the top.. Both are highly DIMocrat based states... But as far as I'm concerned, I hope the DIMocrats do build continue to build on their foundation of sand.

I've been pretty true to my 2 year boycott of the NFL for not stepping up and correction the flag/military/law enforcement disrespect initiated by Colin KaeperPRICK.. I have been so diligent that it was yesterday morning that I learned.. by an accidental notice .. that the Cleveland Browns were 0-15 for 2017 going into their game with Pittsburgh later Sunday.... Update.. couldn't avoid hearing Cleveland finished with a perfect record...YES!

I'm going out to buy a new printer this week.. I finally decided to stop buying HP products because their "support team" had not been supportive of my last two purchases not living up to previous purchases in performance. I bought a new printer.. an EPSON last Spring, and in 3 months started getting deteriorating results.. no amount of routine "maintenance options" (nozzle cleaning, head alignment, or ink flushing) would clear up the black printhead. and it has become pretty much useless as a photo printer.. Any one have a recommendation of a non-HP or EPSON color inkjet printer?
From the "Forrest Gump 'Stupid is as Stupid does' " department - I'm amazed at the consistency of Nancy Pelosi...I'm guessing she calls Trump voters stupid because she hasn't read a dictionary to learn the definition, nor could find 'deplorables' so she could know how to spell and pronounce it.

Mainscream media seems perplexed that the Irani people are protesting more loudly than in the last 10 +/- years. Hmmm ..could that simply be that the Irani people knew Obama would support the current despots rather than help them?

I just listened to a DIMocrat spinmeister say that Trump hasn't repealed OObamaCRAP and that will hurt Republicans. Good grief..the OObamaCRAP mandate just was neutered by the Tax Cut bill, so for all intent, OObamaCRAP will die own its own before the end of 2018.

We're winning! I had seen "suggestions" this was happening but waited to see for myself....The NFL Sunday Night football game was "bumped" for a game show.. . Guess the networks hate having to refund ad revenues when viewer numbers drop below a contract number.

Online headline: "NORTH KOREA * Kim Jong Un claims he has 'nuclear button' on his desk" -- Yes.. now Trump knows where he will be under duress... and can send in one microwave missile and fry the brains of the computer system ... and Kim Jong Oooop's at the same time.

From the "now we have clear conspiracy evidence that Hellary was trying to wrongly "influence" the November 2016 Election" department - Online headline/story: "Hillary Clinton backer paid $500G to fund women accusing Trump of sexual misconduct before Election Day, report says * One of Hillary Clinton’s wealthy pals paid $500,000 in an unsuccessful effort to fund women willing to accuse President Trump of sexual misconduct before the 2016 election, The New York Times reported Sunday. * Susie Tompkins Buell, the founder of Esprit Clothing and a major Clinton campaign donor for many years, gave the money to celebrity lawyer Lisa Bloom who was working with a number of Trump accusers at the time, according to the paper’s bombshell report." -- Wow.. even Hellary will be out yelling "Fake News" at the New York Times.. because the NYT is as close to a Bible as most libs have read. Hmmm... wonder if PETA will protest the use of $500,000.00 to support "political cows" versus "animal cows"?
---
Online headline/story: "Trump pulls brakes on $13B Obama-backed rail-tunnel plan * Trump pulls brakes on $13B Obama-backed rail-tunnel plan * The original Obama-era plan called for costs to be split among New York state, New Jersey and the federal government." -- Hey.. NY..NJ... now you'll have to raise your state/local taxes to pay for it, but.. if you do, more people will move out of your states, and not as many people will be using the rail-tunnel.. so you can scrap the project altogether and remove the existing taxes as well as new ones!

Online story: "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts said on Sunday he would launch a review in 2018 of how the federal judiciary handles sexual harassment, following the recent resignation of a U.S. appeals court judge amid allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct and comments." -- Hmmm.. good start.. but a better one would be investigating how mainscream media handles .. and become "judge & jury" on unsworn, uninvestigated charges.
---
Online headline: "Trump accused of not spending enough time with Barron by Democrat Steve Cohen" -- Hmmm... of course this is another DIMocrat's lie, as Trump is obviously working hard to Make America Great Again... for his son as well as all our children/grandchildren. Au contraire, Trump could "tweet" back that Steve Cohen has not spent ANY time helping his TN constituents by supporting Pelosi...

-- Hmmm... $56,000,000.00.. 200,000 sq ft... 60 classrooms... Good grief... the MCSD is spending $280.00 a square ft for a new school with 60 classrooms, and while I haven't seen a number this year, last year the MCSD had 127 UNUSED classrooms available for use..in defense... at $280.00 a square foot or a high tech building, it is a better use of tax dollars than the metal-on-slab wrestling buildings that are being built at $312.00 a square ft! Of course..Amazon is building an ultra high-tech "fulfillment center" near MACON at $90.00 a square ft.....

From the same L-E report as above: "City Manager Isaiah Hugley said the city isn’t done with the area, and more changes are on the way. A graduate of Spencer, Hugley agrees the cost of the school is a big investment in the community. * “It’s going to be the best in Columbus, the best in Georgia,” he told a gathering of more than 95 residents. * Since 2014, the city has been busy acquiring property to revitalize the area. “We are not done yet,” he said. “We are working to acquire more property.” * Just because the land is near the new school, Hugley noted the city will not pay more than fair-market value for property where people aren’t taking care of it. * “We are going to clean up Benning Road,” the city manager said. * The city already is moving forward on plans for a 12-foot wide walking and biking trail along Fort Benning Road. A right-of-way coordinator is acquiring property for a roundabout at Fort Benning, Cusseta and Brennan roads. There also is a streetscape project from Shelby Street to the intersection of Brennan Road." -- Excuse me, but where has the City shown it has a "magic wand" for turning eyesores into prosperity.. or, for that matter, just the ability...no, more like
"the interest" in maintaining our existing buildings?

L-E headline/story: "Supreme Court to take up Ohio’s purges of inactive voters * Joseph Helle was expecting a different sort of reception when he returned home from Army tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and showed up to vote in his small Ohio town near Lake Erie. *
His name was missing from the voting rolls in 2011, even though Helle had registered to vote before leaving home at 18 and hadn’t changed his address during his military service. * The case has taken on added importance because the parties have squared off over ballot access across the country. Democrats have accused Republicans of trying to suppress votes from minorities and poorer people who tend to vote for Democrats. Republicans have argued that they are trying to promote ballot integrity and prevent voter fraud. Only a handful of states use a process similar to Ohio’s, but others could join in if the high court sides with the state." -- You know.. as much effort as the DIMocrats spend driving voters to the polls, you'd think that there would be no legitimate DIMocrat voters who haven't voted so their names won't be purged for "not voting". On the other hand, all those casting ballots under a given name should be able to show that they are who they say they are.
