We are "told" that since there are 50 Republicans and 50 Democrats, and the Vice-President of the Senate is a Democrat, the the Democrats are the "majority".. but... but in actuality, there are 50 Senators who were elected as Republicans, 48 Senators elected as Democrats, and 2 Senators (Bernie of Vermont and King of Maine) elected as INDEPENDENTS, so in reality, the Republicans are the majority, and should be in charge of committee leadership.

It's gotta STOP! This plague of shooting homicides on the streets of Columbus.. My last Friday's edition of the "Breakfast Club Blog" brought up the 11th homicide, but as soon as I published it, a story about Columbus, GA's 12th homicide was coming online! 12 street killings! 12 in 6 weeks of 2021.. this puts Columbus, GA on a path for potentially (at this rate) 104 homicides in 2021! On a "per 100,000 basis, that scales out as nearly 53 per 100,000... and that's high in the Top 10 of cities with the most homicides per 100,000 in population.. Boy.. this figure is gonna look great.... NOT... as it shows up in the safety data used by the Chamber of Commerce and Real Estate companies here in Columbus to "sell" Columbus as a place to relocate/expand businesses or bring in new or hold on to current families. Right now, I'm praying hat this number of 12 holds out before I publish this comment...

 

UPDATE!: No sooner than I reported the 12 homicide in 2021 for Columbus, GA than number 13 happens. There are years that we didn't have 13 homicides in them, but now we have 13 in less than 6 weeks! Lord... help us!!!

Columbus, GA just suffered it's 12th homicide of 2021...and less than 6 weeks have passed... Columbus, GA is heading toward a unfathomable 100 homicides this year (that's over 50 homicides per 100,000) if this rate continues! What flies in the face of Columbus citizens is NOW, the mayor shows some concern for the over 100 police jobs still not filled for several years.. Hey Council, it's time to "get it done" or either rescind the 2009 Safety LOST sales tax which was passed to pay for them...

I supported "Tunnels to Towers" when it was created to assist the families of First Responders who died or became sick serving after the 9-11-01 terrorist attack in New York City. Now, I'm concerned... even a bit skeptical that "Tunnels to Towers" is now soliciting donations via emotional ads for "wounded warriors". I don't feel assured that all the families of the First Responders have all their needs completely taken care of that frees up the "Tunnel to Towers" fund for a completely different mission direction. Does anyone have any information on what's the status of the First Responders' families ongoing needs?

Now, last night I learned that the the brutal death of a Capitol law enforcement officer Sicknick was filled with misinformation. According to every MSM TV "journalist", Officer Sicknick was brutally beat to death with a fire extinguisher, but last night I learned that no such thing happened... in fact, we learned that hours after the turmoil ended. Officer Sicknick was alive, unbeaten, and texting to his brother from an office in the Capitol Building, and died later. The coroner reported his death as stroke related, and his body not only was quickly cremated, but the coroner's report sealed. It looks like the "defund the police Democrats" basically staged a ceremonial photo-OP so they could look supportive of the police they detest. May Officer Sicknick rest in peace, and be remembered for doing a really tough job to the best of his ability... and not for the lies MSM and the Democrats denigrated his life with.
