Online headline/story: "Another Banker Accused of Hotel Attack * A former chairman of a major bank is arrested on charges of sexually abusing a maid at a Manhattan hotel" -- He probably felt she was a customer of his bank, and has a hard time breaking old habits.
---
Online story: 5 people were arrested in the Jefferson Memorial this weekend... for dancing. The US Park Police were pathetic. Bet they wouldn't have arrested Emperor O'Bozo, and he's the worst dancing president ever.
---
L-E headline: "Muscogee County School District's Summer Feeding Program begins Wednesday" -- Why is this done under the budget of the MCSD? What is the actual (I'd almost settle for what the MCSD has budgeted this for) projected cost of the food, labor, and utilities used for this non-educationally based program?
---
Another aspect about the above program is screening those who will be served. Any child 18 or under (since when is a person who has already turned 18 considered a child) can just walk in and eat for free, and basically, any adult can walk in and eat lunch for $3.00, but who's going to be screening the adults to see if they should be allowed to hang around schools, or around other people's children?
---
I got no response from any of the people I thought I might hear from concerning the Muscogee Republican Women giving a scholarship to a student who vandalized his school?
---
During an eternally long period of advertising on Fox yesterday AM, I cghanged over to C-Span. A representative of Center for Americam Progress was talking about the difficulties 'we' have in the Mid-East being compounded by the 'porous' border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Surely Emperor O'Bozo can recognize the problem of a 'porous border' but what's he going to do about it there when he want do anything about the porous Mexican border?
---
Saw Nancy Pelosi, too, for the first time since she lost control of the Speaker of the House's chair/gavel/perks. She looked really haggard (and more in costume for the witch she is). Guess it's because she can't fly home on tax dollars every few days to keep her hair and make-up appointments.
---
Fawn Johnson, a correspondent for the National Journal was on C-Span, too, taling about the state of gasoline prices and the taxes on such. She mentioned that the taxes were higher on diesel fuel and truck tires, because trucks do "more damage to the roads than my Suburu". Was actually thinking about buying a Suburu for my bride, but not after seeing this elitist liberal snob and name dropper.
---
Emperor O'Bozo must be concerned about his future after the 2012 election. It seems the guy owns 1 suit. and is jockeying for a role in Men in Black 3".
---
Watching Emperor O'Boze address the G8 without use of his TelePrompters really reveals how poor a speaker he is. His manner completely undermines the media portrayal of his as a silver-tongued orator. His delivery was incessantly filled with 'ers' and 'uhs' as he had to look down at the rostrum to find out what his notes said to say next.
---
L-E "soundoff": Now that GM and Chrysler have repaid the bailout money, posted profits and are adding jobs, will any of you who castigated President Obama for the bailout have enough courage to say you were wrong? " -- I know "liberal idiot" is redundant but what else describes such babble? Billions were lost in non-union retirement accounts of shareholders of stock and mutual funds, billions were lost to suppliers for unsecured debts, and GM was given the ability to write off old debt against new 'profits' despite having those old debts dissolved during the bankruptcy proceedings. I hope some of the companies that were mauled during the bankruptcy proceddings will file suit against GM for be allowed to use those debts again to avoid taxes on the pseudo profits being claimed by GM now.
---
Another liberal L-E "soundoff": "As a former teacher, I know that some girls go to school to find a “baby daddy.” In TAP, teachers are expected to provide them with moral values. Enough said. " -- Sorta putting the cart in front of the cart? Most students assigned to TAP have already displayed their lack of moral values. Besides, if a young unmarried mother doesn't learn from having to be totally responsible for the life she brought into this world by the total experience of caring for it, how do people 'feel' she will think twice before adding more to her plate? It's a shame we have/had 'teachers' who think this way in charge of students.
---
So much for efficiency in the construction of the new median additions on Veterans Parkway. It looks like the landscaping is complete, but there are two of the trees left in the parking space on the east side of Veterans that have died in their root ball wraps for lack of care/watering? Why weren't trees that size actually put into the ground? What a waste of tax dollars.
---
This will be an oft inclusion of the Breakfast Club: Diane Schneider, a representative with the National Education Association (NEA), said that graphic sex education needs to be taught in the classroom. * "She said that 'gender identity expression' and sexual orientation are a spectrum, and...that those [who are] opposed to homosexuality are stuck -- quote -- 'in a binary box that religion and family create.' -- This should be sent to every teacher in every school district, and they should be asked to either endorse it, demand Ms Schneider be fired, or drop their NEA membership.

Online headline: "Obama Acts As Healer-In-Chief In Tornado-Stricken Missouri" -- Unfortunately, Missouri was looking for a President who would/could do something.
---
Online headline: "Jared Loughner's Lawyers Want Notice If He Is Drugged" -- Why, so they can get their share of it?
---
L-E story on high speed railways: "If a referendum on the August 2012 ballot for a 1 cent sales tax that would last 10 years is approved, the money would provide matching funds for federal dollars designed to improve high-speed rail and other transportation needs." -- Why are we having a "SPLOST" type election scheduled in August rather than the November 2012 General election? Does the GA House/Senate think the issue cannot pass if the initiative is voted on when people have the greatest interest in the election? Didn't the GA Congress finally pass a bill that will keep the MCSD from scheduling future SPLOST referenda on days other than General Elections for this reason? Back to the drawing board, Columbus representatives!
---
L-E headline: "Ledger Inquirer *Monday, May. 30, 2011 * Rose Hill residents' problem gets response from mayor, city" -- "Ledger Inquirer"? There are times when I think the L-E has merged with the National Inquirer...is this confirmation?
---
From the L-E's "Weekly Agenda": "WEDNESDAY Happy birthday: “Blue’s Clues Live! Blue’s Birthday Party!” runs throughout June at Columbus State University Theater on the Park on the RiverPark campus at 901 Front Ave. The first show is at 9:30 a.m. today with tickets $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under -- What would really be fun is to go and watch the fireworks when some parent tries to drag his/her 11 year old child there to watch "Blue's Clues".
---
L-E headline/story: "The Muscogee County/Harris County Republican Women’s Association recently presented its second annual scholarship awards at the Columbus Public Library. Receiving scholarships were: ...........Stefan Wieczorwk, Columbus High School, going to the University of Georgia" -- Excuse me, but isn't this one of the CHS students who was caught vandalizing the CHS campus the night before graduation?
---
L-E headline: "Obama sees tornado’s aftermath * President promises national response to devastation" -- "Hope" Emperor Scarlett O'Bozo "Changes" his 'response to devastion' from the one that has devastated nour economy and future.

We went to another game of the NCBA baseball tournament at Golden Park last evening, but will not go back. We'd met a number of the players from UCSB last week, and felt a little connection, but that was lost last night when the National Anthem was played and a number of the players cajoled during the playing, and did not bother, no, did not desire to salute our flag, especially during Memorial Day weekend.
---
Last Thursday at 4:00 AM, a person drove his car off Standing Boy Road into a gas and utility metering station, and broke a gas line and disrupted Knology services. There was a cockamamie story about the driver swerving out of the way of 3 deer, and that caused the wreck. There was no mention of a sobriety test, nor no mention of the driver's name. I've been by the site twice, and there's no indication that any kind of spontaneous evasive action was taken. There are no tire markings indicating a hard braking situation, and the ground where the vehicle traveled shows no sign of stress one would see when a vehicle leaves the road and travels across the gras/dirt in an erratic manner. In fact, the tracks almost look like the vehicle was traveling in a slow and straight course. Why has this not been reported fully in our local media?

Ran across this tidbit this AM: According to Fortune Magazine, 2.1 million people work at Walmart's. The state of California has 2.3 million government employees. California's population is 36.1 million; the US population is 311 million. In other words, California has 1 government employees for each 16 people in the state; Walmart's has 1 employee for each 148 US people. Using Walmart's as an efficient factor for employees to citizens, California should downsize about 2 million of its government employees. Bet that would get the CA budget under control.

There is concern over whether the US, possibly in conjunction with Israel, made a cyber attack on the software than controls Iran's plutonium enrichment factory. AOL/Huff Post seems to be upset if this is true.... who are these people? Go USA!
---
Online headline/story: "Gay Marriage Debate Continues Across The U.S. * "There's a special status when you say `my wife,' and civil unions don't give that," said Annie Cronin-Silva, of West Warwick, RI, who married a woman in neighboring Massachusetts in 2008." -- Yeah, I agree, but only if you're that woman's husband, and no where is "husband" designated a female.
---
Before any further discussions begin, since Mayor Mother Teresa Obamalinson has stated that the National Civil War Naval Museum is attracting only a fraction of the 160,000 projected annually, the Museum should publish the actual number of paid visitors (including annual members' visits) that have been there last year (do not include free admissions for busloads of children on school field trips). Let's put all the cards on the table.
---
Unbelievable L-E story: "One recent case in Columbus highlighted the difficulties lawmen face in stemming preventable metal theft. Michael Joyner, a real estate attorney and Recorder’s Court judge, recalled a defendant brought before him on theft charges. The man allegedly swiped about eight of the city’s sewer grates and successfully pawned them to a local recycler, the name of which Joyner could not recall off hand. *
Investigators could not charge the recycler with receiving stolen property, Joyner said, because they could not prove he knew the grates were stolen." -- If true, we need new and better investigators! Surely there is a manufacturer's mark on the grates, and the manufacturer has records of to whom the grates were sold.
---
Praise for Rep. Bishop for wanting to help our soldiers with PTSD, but why isn't he trying to help other American citizens with another type of PTSD, Permanent Tax Stress Disorder?
---
I can understand why a 4:00 AM Thursday wreck that ruptured a gas line on Standing Boy Road not be in the Thursday L-E, but what is the L-E's excuse for not reporting such news in the Friday, Saturday or Sunday editions?
---
L-E headliner: "New Navy destroyer arrives in Mobile " -- Ooops, my bad. Thought some DUMB&DUMBERat subcommittee member had scheduled a Town Hall meeting in Mobile.
---
L-E horror story: "NEW YORK — A 4-yearold boy playing with his young brothers in a bedroom was fatally mauled by a family dog that had been feared by neighbors, police said. * Jayelin Graham suffered horrifying wounds to his head, neck and torso Friday night in the assault at his mother’s apartment in Brooklyn’s Brownsville section. * His mother told police that when she tried to intervene, the dog, a male Cane Corso mastiff, turned on her, too. * Police removed the dog from the house in a cage after the attack, along with other pets including a German shepherd. Investigators were unsure why the dog attacked. As of late Saturday afternoon, no charges had been filed.": --it's still unbelievable to me that any parent will bring a large dog that's primary use is for security/protection into a home, much less an apartment, with small children.
---
Random thought: Why would anyone live with someone else who didn't want to get married to him/her? Lack of a committed status really just means that one or both people are just using the other in hopes someone better comes along.
---
From the "lazy, no, pathic journalism" department: There's a picture in the L-E today with the following caption: "An unidentified Georgia player wearing Jonathon Taylor's number is tagged out at second by Florida's Josh Adams during one of Saturday's games in the SEC tournament at Regions Park in Hoover, AL." -- How hard would it have been for the photographer to ask the official scorer who the player was?
---
There's a baseball tournament going on at Golden Park this weekend and next week. Why is it that the L-E cannot include this in its "Today's Events" section of the sports or include results of afternoon games?

Welcome home, Scott & Friends!
---
I watched a replay of a collision at home plate recently when the catcher had his leg broken. It's painful to watch a runner coming at full speed on a collision course with a catcher who is standing still at best, and probably does not have the time to even brace himself for the contact. I'd like to see a catcher keep his helmet/mask on during such a play, and lower it into any runner who does not actually slide into home plate.
---
L-E headline/story: "U.S. judge rules against corporate contribution ban * In a ruling issued late Thursday , U.S. District Judge James Cacheris tossed out part of an indictment against two people charged with illegally reimbursing donors to Hillary Clinton’s 2006 Senate and 2008 presidential campaigns. " -- Bet the judge wouldn't have felt this way if the donations had been made to George Bush.
---
L-E story: "Want to go for a swim? Public pools in Muscogee County are open until July 31." -- We spent how much money on building and remodeling the public pools, and none are open in August, the hottest month of all? Someone at the City has already been sitting out in the sun too long. This is another reason the MCSD needs to re-evaluate starting schools before the Tuesday after Labor Day.
---
While WTVM9 did walk on eggshells concerning details of a 4:00 AM accident Thursday morning (leaving out details such as names and whether or not there was alcohol involved) that ruptured a gas line on Standing Boy Rd, the L-E has completely ignored it. Something smells in River City. Any of you people (no wonder we prefer 'y'all')have any details you'd mind letting the rest of us know about?
---
Why is GA Power allowed to donate money to politicians? Let's face it, GA Power gets its rate increases at the whim of politicians elected to the PSC.
---
The L-E ran pictures of downed trees following Thursday night storms that also hit Columbus. The area off Country Club Road still looked like a war zone Friday night. Couldn't the L-E use local pictures to write a story about?

What if Harold Cramping was actually right, but he missed 'the cut'?

Here's a pass on from the same BCer:

Here's two classic photos of President Netanyahu and 'The Marxist Idiot' while in their early 20's.

Mr. Netanyahu from his days with the IDF Special Operations 'Sayeret Matkal', an elite commando unit. (Think... U.S. Navy Seals)
Master Obama in his dope smoking, community organizing thug and 'Bill Ayers' loving days. (Think... The Weather Underground)

This explains a whole lot about their social, political and negotiating styles.

---
Thanks to a fellow BCer, we have a new name for our President. Let's hear it for Emperor O'Bozo.
---
Online headline/story: "Patriot Act Signed Into Law By Machine * With Obama currently in France, the White House said the president would use an autopen machine that holds a pen and signs his actual signature. It is only used with proper authorization of the president. Minutes before the midnight deadline, the White House said Obama had signed the bill." -- Even before the age of electronics, there was a need for the "autopen". Presidents sent out mass mailing of Christmas cards, pictures, and campaign letters, and it is physically impossible for a president to actually hand sign them all, but this is carrying the use 'too far'. It's scary to know that some imposter in the White House could issue some order or decree with the president's signature. The problem is that Emperor Scarlett O'Bozo spends too much time gallivanting around the world.

Wednesday morning, stopped at the the light at 12th and Veterans, I witnessed a most unusual sight. A private company truck filled with water followed by a man on foot who was followed by another truck with flashers on was watering the medians recently added on Veterans. Excuse me, but walking by a patch of grass and a tree sprinkling only enough water to wet down some of the dust is not going to keep those median 'green', yet you can bet WE are paying for the contract to do that, and I'll bet the house that it's not a token payment contract. Michael Owen..this is for you to check on.
---
Yesterday's newspaper story on the tree pruning on Broadway opened up another can of worms. Seems like 2 of the 7 or 8 folks observed hovering around the tree were not city employees. That means we had 5 or 6 city employees there via 5 different vehicles. I didn't notice a single one of those vehicles having seating limited to one employee. What urgencies could possibly be that would justify 5 vehicles needed to transport 5 or 6 employees? I understand the Police officers needing ways to respond to emergency calls, but it seems that the Urban Forestry (is that a resume enhancer like Sanitation Engineer?) service call would be a planned event, and one vehicle could carry the personnel that would be needed.
---
It was interesting to watch two men swinging through the tree limbs on Broadway ( ala Tarzan) Wednesday preparing the tree for some sort of adventure climb in October. On the other hand, there was another Laurel Oak half-a-block south of the that tree which has seriously damaged limbs that are truly a danger to pedestrians, bicyclers and cars alike, that was completely ignored. Getting an expert in to shape tree limbs is wonderful, but wouldn't we have been better served if those experts had spent that time pruning the dead and dying limbs out of the more seriously damaged tree?
---
Online story: 'Ed Schultz will take one week of unpaid leave from MSNBC following his controversial comments about Laura Ingraham. * On his radio show Tuesday, Schultz called Ingraham a "right-wing slut". * Last September, he was reprimanded by the network after calling New Jersey Governor Chris Christie a "cold-hearted fat slob." -- Hmmm, giving him an unpaid week of vacation is sorta like Br'er Rabbit pleading to Br'er Fox & Br'er Bear not to throw him into the briar patch. How would MSNBC penalize him if he called Hilary Clinton a 'left-wing slut' or George Soros a 'cold-hearted fat slob'... that my friends is the real question MSNBC needs to address.
---
There was a potentially disastrous wreck Thursday at 4:00 AM. WTVM9 has skeletonized coverage, and the L-E has ignored it altogether. I touched on it briefly yesterday, and yesterday afternoon sent the following e-mail to WTVM's manager, and the only real writer at the L-E. Neither has responded.
Here's the e-mail:

"Following ABC's (TV9) less-than-candid report as far as details go, who was the 21 year old who ran into the gas pipeline on Standing Boy Road? The WTVM-9 report was quick to use the '3 deer' in every report as the excuse for the wreck, but since there were no deer present at the scene, how can it be assumed there were deer present at all. Obviously, a 4:00 AM wreck makes one think of whether there was alcohol involved. Was there a field test administered? As the driver was 21 years of age, why was not his name mentioned. Since there was eminent danger and probably considerable expense for Atmos to shut down and repair the pipe, why wasn't the driver's name mentioned for that alone? Speaking of that pipe, why was it in a position that a vehicle could run into it to begin with?
Reading the WTVM9 reports on this wreck can only be described as listening to Dave Platta giving baseball scores in the following manner, "Today's scores were 3-to-1, 6-to-2, and 1-to-0 in extra innings. Sure, it tells me there were games played, and the scores are probably accurate, but without the names, those scores are useless."

Follow up: I went by the site after work, and could see no sign that any emergency evasive action was taken. It looked like someone just ran off the road at a somewhat slow speed. I didn't see any braking tire marks or any soil disruption that a braking car would make sliding across grass/clay before it ran into the gas line.

There's something fishy about this; who was the driver?

The Breakfast Club - May 26, 2011

You should keep a copy this in your wallet to address any liberal who's ranting about the cause of the moment he/she is pushing.
"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results."

- Kenneth Blanchard

---
Listening to the press conference featuring Emperor Scarlett O'Bama and UK's Prime Minister David Cameron was quite revealing. He referred to our president as "Barack". While casualness in private is somewhat expected, public addressing in such a casual manner shows the lack of respect our long time allies have for him.
---
Did you realize we have a "Urban Forestry" department in our City government? That means we have a Department head, and I'm sure 1 or more assistants, and a crew or two on the full time payroll. Do we need that? Wouldn't this be a budget area that could be better served by outsourcing such needs?
---
Update:
Was watching our Urban Forestry team at work on Broadway yesterday. There were five trucks involved (3 pick ups, 1 chipper, and 1 cherry picker), and 7 or 8 people (2,3 or 4 working at any one time) surrounding 1 tree. Yeah, budget cutting is definitely a tough job. Oh, and a second cherry picker drove up as they were packing up.
---
Jared Loughner was examined for mental competency (and was found lacking it) to stand trial for shooting Arizona Rep Giffords and others. Wouldn't it be nice if Arizona voters, all US voters for that matter, would undergo mental competency testing before voting in the DUMB&DUMBERats' primary races?
---
I used to think Emperor Scarlett O'Bama wanted Joe Biden around to make the gaffes so O'Bama would look like a polished spokeman. After viewing a compilation of O'Bama blunders, finishing up with his 'toast' to the Queen of England, it would seem O'Bama is the master.
---
My internet cable is out this morning, so have brought out my phone and its marvelous portable wi-fi capability. Don't know if the cable being out is related to the SUV rupturing a gas on Standing Boy Road. Seems the driver tried to avoid 3 deer at 4:00 AM. Do have to wonder if there was actually only 1 deer, and if the deer was pink.
---
Praise God that Scott Ressmeyer and Co were not traveling through the tornado alley during the recent eruptions.
---

May 25, 2011

Online headline: "Obama Dates Westminster Abbey Guestbook Entry '24 May 2008'" -- Hmmm, in a way that would indicate Emperor Scarlett O'Bama might be related to John Hancock. our president either forgot he "wasn't in Kansas anymore" or that it was a backhanded message that England was behind in the times. Remember when he sent the Prime Minister a gift of DVD videos in the American, rather than European format? Or when he sent the bust of Winston Churchill back, or now when he's ridding the archives of old Royal pictures? What is he really trying to tell the British?
---
I tell you what, if you read Casey Anthony's attorney's opening allegations, trail lawyer credibility may have reached an all time low.
---
How can the city golf courses be considered "one of the biggest assets we have", when they do not add value to the community by generating sufficient cash flow to take care of their needs? This is 'recreational', not needed services, and if the users aren't charged enough, or unwilling enough, to pay what it costs to maintain and grow, why should the course be a drain on the taxpayers?
---
Why is there a necessity to hire a 'firm or individual to provide organized ice skating and hockey instruction at the new ice rink"? Didn't the City just hire a retired hockey player to manage the facility?
---
L-E's "Late laughs": WASHINGTON, D.C. high schools are being investigated for teachers helping students beat the standardized tests by giving them the answers or changing wrong answers for them. Where were these teachers when I was in high school?. — Jay Leno -- Hmmm, so altering children's test results was not just a local phenomena.
---
The board of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Macon has voted to close it's doors as of June 12, 2011. Dependence on tax dollar funding is the culprit in the board's mind. Could/would it have been illogical if the music industry stepped up to the plate to begin with and fully supported its own interests rather than asking taxpayers to do it? The same is true about Columbus' tax supported special interest offerings. Public/Private ventures should get 'public' support via referenda.
---
Have you noticed how the main stream media will support the DUMB&DUMBERat pleas for 'bi-partisanship' when Republicans have the majority, but offer no support for Republicans asking for 'bipartisanship' from a DUMB&DUMBERat majority?
---

Passed by a fellow BCer: The truth of humor is what we perceive is reality. This is real funny!
I was eating lunch on the 20th of February with my 8-year-old grandson, and I asked him, "What day is tomorrow?"

He said, "It's President's Day!"

He is a smart kid.

I asked "What does President's Day mean?"

I was waiting for something about Washington or Lincoln . . . etc.

He replied, "President's Day is when President Obama steps out of the White House, and if he sees his shadow, we have one more year of unemployment."

You know, it hurts when iced cold Coca Cola spurts out of your nose . . .

May 24, 2011

Online story: "The Government Accountability Office, in a report being released Tuesday, said at least 3,700 government contractors and nonprofit organizations that received more than $24 billion from the stimulus effort owed $757 million in back taxes as of Sept. 30, 2009, the end of the budget year" -- If the recipients had just paid their back tax debts with the grant money they received from yours' and my pockets, it would have only taken 3% of the money they received. Now, let's see a report on which Congressmen have received political donations from these groups or principals.
---
Online story: "Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam (R) must decide by June 1 (Update: Haslam signed the law last evening) whether to sign legislation prohibiting cities in the state from passing anti-discrimination laws protecting LGBT individuals." -- Cities creating "sanctuary" situations contrary to state and federal laws need to be shut off from state and federal funds for any aspect of local government function. States are prohibited from enacting laws that oppose or negate federal law; why should a city no be prohibited from doing the same against state laws. This includes cities that have adopted the policy of not reporting illegal aliens as well.
---
From the 'suspicions confirmed' department - Online story: "In an interview with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) argued that Jared Loughner (shooter of Rep Gabby Giffords in Arizona) deserves sympathy for his apparent mental problems. * "It's an irony," Kennedy told Gupta, "but we think no stigma towards Gabby and her brain injury, but [Loughner] has a brain injury as well, because clearly his brain was not working properly when he picked up that gun and shot all those people." * "We failed as a society," he added" -- "WE failed"? "WE" wish "WE" could say this is just a Kennedy disease but unfortunately, it has "gone viral" throughout the DUMB&DUMBERat Party.
---
From L-E story: "Attorney Michael Eddings, a subcommittee member, explained that the group felt that the people in the executive positions report to the mayor and he or she is responsible for their performance, but does not have the authority to dismiss and replace them if necessary." -- You know, I actually agree with something a lawyer has said based on the basic logic of reality. Now I'll have to decide whether this lawyer would say this if the existing mayor was not a lawyer....
---
A tip of the hat to a fellow BCer - Online headline: "Netanyahu Urges U.S. Return to 1845 Borders - Hmmm looks like the score is: Netanyahu 1, American-yahoo 0.
---
Emperor Scarlett O'Bama's 8th trip to Europe since he's been roosting in the White House just demonstrates not only how out of touch he is with the economy, but also with the average American citizen. Maybe we need to tighten border security to keep him inside the USA the remainder of his term. On the other hand, he does do less damage to our economy when he's out of bill signing range.
---
Interesting online headline/story: "Illinois Is Proving any State Can Change its Schools * As Illinois Senate Bill 7 awaits the governor's signature, education advocates in other states are looking closely at how Illinois was able to pass one of the strongest education reform bills in the country" -- It's ironic that such major changes are being enacted after the departure of our current Secretary of Education. Arne Duncan, was hired away from the Illinois school situation. Will our Congress vote to change/correct Duncan's nationwide programs once he's left office?
---
L-E "soundoff": "Instead of meddling in Israel’s affairs, President Oboma (sic) needs to clean up the mess in Washington. " -- Dream on! Emperor Scarlett O'Bama not only has a better chance of solving 1000s of years of Mid-East problems than he does at any problem in Washington, O'Bama doesn't want to solve any problems in Washington.
---
Oh! Did you see where Obama said he was in Ireland to find his 'apostrophe'? All Emperor Scarlett O'Bama has had to do was read this blog.
---
L-E's "Late laughs": MORE THAN 250 colleges are using graduation gowns this year made from recycled plastic bottles. Yeah, it’s great preparation for the job most college students will be getting: collecting and recycling plastic bottles. — Jimmy Fallon " -- Speaking of non-existent college recycling programs, it's obvious from seeing the River Campus at CSU trash and trash collection vehicles that CSU uses mostly anti-green food containers, then lumps it all together to dispose of.
---
L-E headline: "U.S. SUPREME COURT Calif. prison overcrowding deemed unconstitutional" -- Wow! Now if we could only get the SCOTUS to rule that not sending illegal aliens back is unconstitutional, and letting criminals sentenced to death sit around for 20 years is unconstitutional, we may be on our way to cutting entitlement budgets, lowering medical costs, reducing criminals incarcerated, as well as reducing actually crime!
---
L-E headline: ‘EDUCATION, NOT INCARCERATION!’ FORUM * Speakers contend get-tough attitudes not paying dividends" -- It's funny how leaders of One Columbus, the NAACP, the Columbus Black History Museum and Archive, and the Southern Anti-Racism Network can call for action, yet if any white person does the same, those same organization leaders will immediately 'throw out the race card' to immediately end meaningful conversation. That's the biggest tragedy in all this; and also the biggest reality.
---
A L-E story about Forest Park, GA's City Council says women are banned from breast feeding their older than 2 month babies in public. Wonder what the next Council ordinance will be...to ban bears s***ing in the woods, or teens cruising the city streets on weekends?
---
On a personal note, my nephew David Mobley, Jr, is heading back to Iraq tomorrow. Keep him in your prayers.

Monday, May 23, 2011

From a fellow BCer who has just enlightened me he still agile enough to be punny: "Democrats voted for Obama to prove they weren't racist,....now they can vote for Cain to prove they're not stupid. We need Cain because Obama is not Able."
---
Learned a couple of things about a fellow BCer today: T. Sam loves grilled cheese sandwiches (one of my favorites, especially with mayo,, too). I can honestly use one of Sam's favorite lines, "I didn't know that" before today.

Something came to light this weekend that really upsets me. CHS had a record high number of applicants for a record low number of openings for this Fall's term. Many students from Columbus schools were not accepted, but have found out that students from Harris County were accepted. This is just wrong. No out[of-county students (unless as allowed with family military status) should be accepted, even considered at any Columbus public school unless there are openings available that local students aren't interested in.

Talk about ingenuity, American spirit, and resolve against all odds, a number of Mississippi residents have built levees around their homes in an attempt to thwart the ravages of nature. Under regime of the Emperor Scarlett O'Bama, I'm waiting for one of his Tsars to declare that the personal levees be torn down because it's 'not fair' that those homeowners didn't build levees for all the other homeowners.

L-E story: "
Education, Not Incarceration!” is the topic of a forum from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the Columbus Public Library, 3000 Macon Road." -- All this inflammatory ruckus, yet not one solution from within. Education is there for the taking to all, just as for some, other people's property looks like it's there for the taking. It becomes a personal choice of whether a person takes advantage of educational opportunity, or whether they decide to take something that belongs to another.

Looks like Michael Owen has found his niche. Hope Michael decides to tackle the LOST expenditures as to whether the 70% reserved for Public Safety is being used only as such, and hope he delves into the MCSD SPLOST to see how short the revenues will be at the end of the revenue collection period as pertains to the list of projects that are supposed to be paid for from the SPLOST. While he's at it, hope he looks at how the City needs to replace 18 garbage trucks at one time. This reeks of bad resource management.
---
This is a L-E "soundoff" that not only 'hits home', but is a major component of the over-inflated billing/discount system that insurance companies/hospitals use to disassociate the actual Dr/patient relationships. We recently had a routine medical procedure performed at Doctors Hospital. Being a self-pay family, we were forced to give them an exorbitant up front payment. 4 weeks after the procedure, we did receive a 'refund' of a good portion of their projected costs, but to-date, we have not received a detailed bill/accounting to show what we were charged for. It's now been 2 months since the procedure.
---
It's interesting, but not very transparent as to the L-E's concern over the political inputs into redistricting processes. The L-E will conveniently forget that when DUM&DUMBERats met to redistrict GA in 2001, the D&Ds tried to put 3 super-majority minority based districts into the mix. Fortunately, the Court struck those down. Those 3 districts would have been akin to establishing areas of ethic isolation as was done to our Native Americans when reservations were instigated.

It's May 22, 2011, and it looks like we are all still here. Hmmm, did we "miss the call", or could it be that Camping may have been wrong?

Passed on by a fellow BCer:

I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against a mosque being built at Ground Zero. I think it should be the goal of every American to be tolerant. Thus the Mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.

That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy ", and the other a topless bar called "You Mecca Me Hot."

Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called " Iraq o' Ribs."
Across the street there could be a lingerie store called "Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret ", with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.

Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, "Koranal Knowledge ", its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called "Morehammered."

All of this would encourage the Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so the mosque problem would be solved. If you agree with promoting tolerance, and you think this is a good plan, please pass it on.....

You know, Emperor Scarlett O'Bama made a fortune off his book, "The Audacity of Hope". Guess his sequel will be "The Austerity of Change".

---

If Mayor Mother Teresa Obamalinson is going to hire an 'outside' entity to compare/evaluate/suggest solutions/direction for the Marshal Office, let's demand that such an "outside entity" not be a government agency/funded entity. No government agency/entity will side on reducing government jobs.

Healthcare is expensive enough without Hospitals running full page advertising pronouncing people awards that would be just as, if not more, effective if just presented in a presentation ceremony to their friends and co-workers at the Hospital.

---

Remember the car ads saying they can finance you if you bring home $350.00 a week? Today there is an employment ad for a car dealer saying it pays a monthly salary of $1200.00 while you train. Doesn't that mean the employees in training do not qualify for a new car?

---

L-E statement about itself: "The Ledger-Enquirer reaches more people every day than any other news source" -- I can assume the L-E is implying "locally" as other papers are bigger, but in this day and time, this cannot be true. I would summarily project that more people sign on to the internet daily than read a L-E newspaper, and the first thing we see when signing onto the internet is news, and what about the 'app' you probably have on your phone that alerts you to some form of news as 'the wires'?

---

How can a newspaper talk about local-based eating establishments in Columbus, and not mention Smokey Pig and Evelyn's? Out-of-towners, I surmise.

L-E story: "Walter R. Holler, 51, had previously been held without bond on charges stemming from a crash that killed 18-year-old Natalie Elizabeth Windham. In addition to vehicular homicide, Holler is charged with failure to stop and render aid and improper lane change."-- In spite of the callousness of Holler, the real culprits are the exchange designer and Columbus Council members who accepted the design from the state.
---
You know, one way to cut the city budget would be for the police et al vehicles to be washed by our city jail inmates rather than by privately own services.
---
An online headline/story says: "Can Casey Anthony Get a Fair Trial? * Legally, she's entitled to one, but lawyers in the case are having trouble finding impartial jurors." -- Isn't this why lawyers are provided... a lawyer worth his salt would welcome a jury of people with preconceived notions, BECAUSE, if she's innocent, it's much easier to create doubt and get jurors questioning themselves when new ideas/evidence presented are contrary to the public's previous knowledge.
---
Online headline: "(AFL-CIO president) Richard Trumka Threatens To Abandon Democrats In 2012 Unless They Fight Harder For Labor" -- Yeah, right, like he's really going to support conservatives. Trumka really has no bargaining chips with DUMB&DUMBERats other than giving them extra funds to run scare voters to voting DUMB&DUMBERat candidates.

Israeli PM Netanyahu must be scratching his head wondering who this American-Yahoo is.

All we can hope for is that once Registe is sent to prison, he be put in a cell with someone who is serving a death sentence for some reaction to killing someone trying to hurt his family, and that the prisoner be told that Registe ducked the death sentence because Aruba wouldn't extradite him unless the death sentence was taken out of the equation.
---
L-E story: "Who knows how long it will last, but gas prices plunged as much as 26 cents per gallon overnight at stations in Phenix City and outlying areas in Alabama. * On Thursday, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded was $3.69 at the Crown convenience store at 911 Broad St. in Phenix City. Friday morning? How about tanking up for $3.43 per gallon? -- Hmmm, GA has the lottery, and Phenix City has Sunday beer sales and $3.43 gasoline. Looks like Phenix City will win the weekend.
---
Once a week or twice a week garbage collections? I like twice a week and so do my neighbors. Who wants to draw a Thursday or Friday only pickup day if you have had a paryy at home on the weekend?
---
Got a message from Mayor Mother Teresa Obamalinson saying she doen't want to reduce the current garbage fee that was tacked on to pay for the second day pickup if she gets Council to OK single day pickup BECAUSE the city has to replace 18 garbage trucks. Granted, 18 garbage trucks haven't gone bad during her 4 month reign, but why has Council/City Manager allowed the recently retired head of Garbage to let the fleet fall into such poor condition?
---
The claim that Columbus is out of synch with reality is because it's one of few cities that have twice a week garbage pickups is a cop out. I remember visiting my grandparents in Goldsboro, NC as a child, and not only did the garbage get picked up twice a week, the garbage crew actually went to their backyard, retrieved the garbage cans, then returned the cans to their "up right position".
---
From the 'it's not one world' department - L-E story: "DAYTON, Ohio — An Ohio woman convicted of killing her month-old baby daughter in a microwave oven was spared the death penalty and sentenced Friday to life in prison without parole. * Prosecutors say China Arnold, 31, of Dayton, intentionally put 28-day-old Paris Talley in a microwave and turned it on after a fight with her boyfriend. * The couple had argued over whether the boyfriend was the infant’s biological father." -- How could any jury prolong this person's fate with death!
---
L-E headline/story: "Man accused of exposing self to bus full of children * (Sgt. Mark) Rogers said. “We put a few officers on the bus to see if we could actually see it happen, which we could not, and we got a warrant.” -- Huh? While it's good to get reprobates off the streets, on what basis would any judge issue a warrant if this lack of observation is what happened?
---
People who look for racial tones/implications in every aspect of their lives are not looking for a cure or solution. They are just interested in keeping their heads buried in the past.
---
Government red tape is at it's epitome when the issue is whether a drug to kill death row prisoners was obtained by "prison officials circumventing the law to obtain the supply". -- Reread the quote-end quote phrase... Why is the method of obtainment an issue at all? Why is there any concern over obtainment of such drugs? Lets go back to taking death sentenced criminals straight out of the court rooms and execute them on the spot by firing squad or hanging. Enough of this pandering as to whether death sentenced criminals should have dignity or mercy.

Remember when the Lone Ranger would ride off into the sunset, and some wrangler would ask, "Who was that masked man?"? We should all ask, "Who is this person we have sitting in the Oval Office?" He cannot solve one problem in our country, but feels he's an Oracle in solving a centuries old Mid-East problems. Emperor Scarlett O'Bama says he can read the mind of Gaddafy, and can remap the Mid-East, and attain World Peace... I don't think so; he's not a Miss America candidate.

does he think/feel he's in a Miss America Pageant?

L-E story: " A forum on “Education, Not Incarceration” will be held 6:30-8 p.m. Monday at the Columbus Public Library. This event is meant to bring attention to high incarceration rates at a time when there are massive cuts to education. Speakers on the panel include State Representative Carolyn Hugley; Edward Dubose, president of the Georgia NAACP; and H. Berrien Zettler of One Columbus. * The Muscogee County School District reports the FY2010 cost of educating a student is between $10,948-$11,386. The Georgia Department of Corrections spends $15,115-$22,079 to incarcerate a prisoner." -- For those incarcerated, we wasted money on education. How is spending more on education going to help that?
---
This morning as I rode by the Court House looking for a non-existent parking space, I noticed Public Safety vehicles in a number of spots. Don't they have specified places to park? With the garage closed to the public, shouldn't the street parking spaces be closed to government vehicles? Fair is fair.
---
I'm curious...if raising the extra fee for garbage (in addition to the portion allocated in the main budget) an additional $10.00 a month would fully fund the twice-weekly garbage pick ups, what was Mayor 'Mother Teresa' Obamalinson going to do with the excess of the existing fee we already pay for twice-weekly pickup? Nowhere in her proposal was it suggested the existing fee be reduced. She really is looking out for us...NOT!

Online story: "WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama will announce plans Thursday to funnel billions of dollars in economic aid to Egypt and Tunisia as part of a broader effort to inject democracy into the Middle East and North Africa. * Obama will unveil a massive package of economic measures, including up to $1 billion in debt relief and another $1 billion in loan guarantees, during a speech on U.S.-Middle East policy set for Thursday morning at the State Department" -- A general once said, "A million dollars here, a million dollars there, and pretty soon we're talking about serious money" (or something like that). Now mentioning only a billion or so seems like chump change to a politician. What I want to know is if Emperor Scarlett O'Bama is going to release this info before a speech, why give the speech at all?

L-E story: "Columbus police officers on ATVs will escort the (bicycle riding) group and officers will control traffic at road crossings. A patrol car escort will accompany the group once it leaves the bike path at the Buck Ice and Coal plant and proceeds into downtown to Broadway for music and a celebration." -- Hmmm...thought one of the reasons to ride a bike was to escape the exhaust of gasoline powered vehicles, but it sounds like such will be in all the riders' faces. Hope they observe the laws and stay off the sidewalks, especially downtown!

Had a phone call at our business yesterday; the caller said, "Finally! You people are hard to get in contact with. "You people", I thought....funny, I didn't think of it as a racial attack. Guess it's how I was raised.

You know, if a government employee is responsible for discrimination or other crimes against another government employee, why are tax dollars used to pay off the 'victim'? The taxpayers had nothing to do with the 'crime', and a taxpayer supported judicial system should recognize that.
---
L-E "soundoff": "What good are energy saver appliances when utility companies around the nation, including Georgia Power, keep raising their rates? " -- Amen, brother! It's gotten to be that the number one complaint to the PSC that GA Power uses is that people are using less, and at the same time. GA Power uses the expenses of advertisng to people not only how to use less energy, but that it's almost patriotic to do so.
---
You know, it seems the burr under the saddle of anti-freeze proponents is that their neighbors are paying less than them for the same circumstance. Maybe these proponents should work on the basis that they should only pay the lesser amount that their neighbors pay. It would be more gratifying to win.
---
L-E story: "The historic Liberty Pool at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park will not open this year due to lack of money to operate it, according to Georgia Department of Natural Resources. " -- This is a typical government response to budget crises... stop providing recreation services as a reminder to the public that the public is being blamed for lower revenues. Why doesn't the DNR try to open the pool on a customer 'pay as you go' basis before just announcing it won't open it at all?

Online story: "HOUSTON — Police who found a man's dismembered (by a chain saw) body outside a vacant house, with the head and an arm stuffed into a trash bag and the rest of his remains in a backyard next door, arrested his best friend Monday for murder. * "That's his best friend for over 20 years," said (the victim's) sister. -- "Best friend"? Guess Noah Webster is going to have to write a new definition as to what "best friend" means.

L-E story: "ATLANTA -- Georgia cities suing online travel companies over lodging taxes won another victory Monday as the Georgia Supreme Court ruled in favor of Atlanta, which like Columbus contended the services were not properly collecting room taxes." -- How did Columbus win? Priceline lists only Phenix City rooms, Expedia lists 4 Columbus' in other states, and Hotels.com lists Phenix City and Opelika places, but none in Columbus. Way to go, Mayor and First Dude Obamalinson.
---
Another L-E story: "Tomlinson agreed, saying she wants to “maximize the assets” that are Oxbow and Bull Creek. She said she’s heard critics suggest that she ultimately wants the city to get out of the golf business. That’s a smokescreen, she said. * “It’s a false premise, a cheap trick and an intellectually dishonest suggestion to say that my valid concerns about these things have to do with doing away with golf,” she said. “It has everything to do with preserving golf.” -- Like her former (and hubby's current) law firm eliminating Columbus from online hotel room exposure? Looks like an anti-business, anti-Columbus pattern is emerging. Also, throw in that Mayor Obamalinson moved her business plant out of Midtown when she merged it with another company.
---
L-E story: "The board approved an increase of 10 cents to all student meal prices for next school term, with the exception of secondary school breakfast, which would be increased by five cents * This is being done because the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 requires schools to have equity in pricing and encourages school systems to increase the price of meals by 10 cents per meal until the price charged is equivalent to the federal reimbursement rate for the breakfast or lunch. The school district must do this to continue to receive federal reimbursement for free meals." -- Another reason to end federal government school programs. Not only does the fed government use OUR tax dollars to fund programs that exclude many, but it "encourages" (ala Mr Rogers, can you say 'forces', boys and girls?) the MCSD to raise the prices on the people who are paying the taxes that fund the program to begin with.
---
L-E headline/story: "Columbus mayor seeks study of consolidating Muscogee Marshal's and Sheriff's departments * The study would likely cost the city about $60,000 to $70,000, which Tomlinson said could come from 2012 LOST funds." -- Aside from committing the entire LOST revenue on $6M-to-$7M in retail sales (an even higher amount if you consider the "Public Safety" portion is 70% of those revenues needed to do so) to some other government entity, we already know what the results will be. Just eliminate the Marshal's job, and let the Sheriff add the necessary staff to carry out the Municipal Court's delivery needs.

An AP story in the Birmingham News (didn't see it in our crack L-E) says GM is going to invest $109,000,000.00 in Detroit operations that will keep/create a total of 96 jobs. Think about that...that's $1,135,417.00 per job. No wonder GM went belly-up, and we're going to see GM do it again before long.
---
If the clubhouse at Bull Creek is in need of repairing/replacement, then the fees charged for use, and the prices for food/beer should be profit motivated. To be of real value to the community, any service offered by the city should be of value that the users are willing to pay for it. Otherwise, farm it out to private industry.
---
L-E story: "The Georgia Supreme Court’s 4-3 decision overturned the law creating the Georgia Charter Schools Commission, which allowed the state to approve and fund charter schools over the objection of local school boards. The decision promises to reshape how public schools are funded by concluding that only local boards of education have the power to open and pay for public schools. " -- While the Court is technically correct, and this is a constitutional issue, there must be diligence in watching for more population shifts, therefore tax revenue shifts, from urban to suburban areas.
---
L-E headline: "FIELDS & FARMS Tate Hutwagner divides his time between the baseball diamond and the garden with Harvesting for Hope " -- What an outstanding young man, who can truly be said to be "outstanding in his field". This is better than a 'walk-off grand slam' in game 7 of the World Series.

While I'm highly in favor of rewarding scholar-athletes with higher education opportunities, one must really wonder why a multi-campused school like Chattahoochee Technical College has a sports program, especially a non-revenue producing track program.

From one of our BC legal eagles: "
JURY Duty Scam

Pass this on to your grown children and anyone else you can think of. This
has been verified by the FBI (their link is also included below). Please
pass this on to everyone in your email address book. It is spreading fast so
be prepared should you get this call. Most of us take those summonses for
jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on their civic duty that a
new and ominous kind of fraud has surfaced.

The caller claims to be a jury DUTY coordinator. If you protest that you
never received a summons for jury duty, the Scammer asks you for your Social
Security number and date of birth so he or she can verify the information
and cancel the arrest warrant. Give out any of this information and bingo,
your identity was just stolen.

The fraud has been reported so far in 11 states, including Oklahoma ,
Illinois , and Colorado , AZ and more. This (swindle) is particularly
insidious because they use intimidation over the phone to try to bully
people into giving information by pretending they are with the court system.

The FBI and the federal court system have issued nationwide alerts on their
web sites, warning consumers about the fraud.
Check it out here:

Interesting thought that everyone has to consider: "With all the resources Emperor Scarlet O'Bama has at his beck and call, neither the economy, the job & housing markets, despot opinion of the United States, nor his golf game (and let us not even go down the bowling lane) has improved over the past 2 1/2 years.

Online headline/story: "Terrorist Plot New York City: Two Men Arrested In Alleged Terror Plan To Target Synagogues With Grenades * Ahmed Ferhani, a 26-year-old of Algerian descent, and Mohamed Mamdouh, a 20-year-old of Moroccan descent, plotted to bomb a "major synagogue" in Manhattan and bought several weapons and an inert hand grenade from an undercover officer, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said. * Officials said they had been watching Ferhani for several months and that he had said he was fed up with the way Muslims were treated around the world * They are Americans of Algerian and Moroccan descent. * Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said the suspects have no known connection to al-Qaida." -- The point? Just expands the concept of radical Islam hatred for all others.
---
L-E headline/story: "Bond, retrial set for Lathan Word * Armed robbery conviction reversed after man served decade in prison * Georgia Court of Appeals reversed Word’s conviction on the grounds of ineffective assistance of counsel" -- That it is again, an appeal based on "ineffective assistance of counsel". Since every lawyer was/is not #1 from his/her class, convictions of even the most patently guilty are little more than a revolving door away for new trials.

The Marshal wants $52,000.00 delivery cars? I agree whole heartedly with Counselor Allen. In fact, it's more than past time that Council should look at whether we actually should keep funding the Marshal's office at all. Countryman's assumptions are somewhat megalomaniacal.

L-E story: "The Muscogee County School District Summer Feeding Program begins June 1 and will operate through July 29. As part of the National School Lunch Program, meals are served Monday-Friday at no charge to children 18 years old and younger. Breakfast is served 8:30-9 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. " -- Our school system is running a feeding program all summer, yet the school system faces huge budgetary problems. Running a feeding program IS a budgetary problem! No wonder more and more citizens believe they cannot do things for themselves; our government keeps pushing more and more nannyism on them.
---
Interesting question: Why the disparity over the salaries of the Director of Public Safety, and the Director of Parks & Recreation? isn't our community better served by focus of Public Safety than Public Nannyism?
---
Hmmm, speaking of such, why is it we have to go out of town to find a Parks & Rec director? If someone local were hired, it would mean a new for the community would be opened somewhere else as well. Using the same concept of external searching, why not advertise for a new City Manager from out-of-town who could bring in "fresh ideas" in ways to save money. Might not be a bad way to select our Mayor and Councilm either.

Sorry, the L-E 'struck out' today on anything worth a comment.

Huckabee..... Now we have a real VP partner with clout for whomever emerges with the Republican nomination.
---
Excuse me, but why would Cypert's wife (ex?) want him to be around her children; and why would any other parents want Cypert near their children? When you poot in church, you sit in your own pew.
---
Wish someone would go back to the original GA DOT plans to see if the current configuration at JR Allen & Bradley Park Dr is the same. Council complained so loudly about the original plans that the GA DOT changed things (like the split and confusing parallel & separated stretch between Exit 4 and and Moon Road); sometimes I think the GA DOT made changes just to get revenge on Council's complaints.
---
L-E "Corrections": "On Saturday’s front page, the photo of Walter Holler, who has been charged in the May 8 fatal wreck on J.R. Allen Parkway, was incorrectly identified." -- While the error was avoidable; shoulda been avoided, and unbelievably insenstive, the LE should have posted the "correction" on the Front Page as well.
---
L-E headline: "Safe Kids Columbus Bike Rodeo " -- I do hope some of the lesson time was spent discussing GA's (and Columbus') laws governing the use of bicycles. If a bicycle rider is over 12, it's against the law to ride a bike on a sidewalk.
---
Headline of Dusty Nix's diatribe: "Petulant pols punk themselves in post-Osama pout" -- If Dusty spent as much time thinking about what he was opining and penning as he did on contriving this headline, he might have something meaningful to add to a discussion.
---
Using Councilman Mike Baker's "logic", Columbus' Garbage Trucks should be equipped as well as 'police pursuit vehicles'.

Ride by Wynnton School this week. For the first time in decades, Wynnton has the appropriately sized flag to run up its majestic flag pole. Long may it wave.

May 14th 2011

For some unknown reason, this Google blog site was out of commission for a couple of days. I'll get the 12th and 13th editions posted soon. HAK

With an idea assist of a fellow BCer: Like John Kennedy's request that we "ask not what your country can do for you", DUMB&DUMBERats must shudder when spokesman Bruce Springsteen takes the stage and randomly breaks out in a stirring rendition of "Born in the USA".
---
Online story: The White House is watching 25 cameras that were attached to the helmets of the SEALs to try to further figure out what actually happened....DOH? What happened was that the SEALs kicked Osama bin Laden's but for me, for you , and the world. How DUMB can DUMB&DUMBERats be if they have to examine videos to figure this out?
---
I am more surprised that it has taken this long for a tragic accident to happen at the loop entry/exit ramps at JR Allen and Bradley Park Drive. The design was horrible from the git-go. All traffic should be diverted to the straight ramps, and traffic lights added at Bradley Park so cars could make left and right turns, and the looped ramps should be closed.
---

Online quote program: " "Feeling grateful or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life."

- Northrup Christiane

-- Amen! You know, this should be stamped on every level of government paycheck (military excluded), and every entitlement check/voucher/EBT card.
---
From L-E story: "They survived a Navy SEAL raid that killed bin Laden and were taken into Pakistani custody. The White House has said it was important that the U.S. be allowed to interview them. The women could provide information about bin Laden’s life in his compound." -- "The women could provide information about bin Laden's life in his compound"? What's Emperor Scarlet O'Bama interested in now, starting a reality show to honor bin Laden?
---
The Spencer-National Infantry Museum incident should never have happened, wouldn't have happened if the teacher involved had neither violated the 'confetti ban' in the contract, or if she had not been looking for insensitivity in the use of "you people". "You people" has been one of the phrases destroyed by 'political correctness' and by groups/individuals just looking for a way to throw the always in waiting "race card". I've been referenced as "you people" and there certainly was no racial attachment intended. Did I resent being stereotyped with other unknowns? You betcha (thanks Sarah)! The world just needs to lighten up. Especially teachers who impact the future of her students adjustments into the real world.
---
L-E headline: "Inflation: Experts say worst is over " -- Are these the same 'experts' who have denied there has been any inflation so there was no case to increase a COLA for Social Security checks?
---

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Online story: "Julian Assange, WikiLeaks Founder, Gets Australian Peace Prize " -- As ridiculous as this is, it does make you think about one thing: Whether he deserves it or not, Assange actually did something to get his Peace Prize.
---
From the Emperor Scarlet O'Bama's border security stand-up routine: "We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement," Obama said. "But even though we've answered these concerns, I gotta say I suspect there are still going to be some who are trying to move the goal posts on us one more time." * "Maybe they'll need a moat," he said mockingly to laughter from the crowd. "Maybe they'll want alligators in the moat." -- I would normally tell someone with this little grasp of comedy and solutions to "keep your day job", but in this case, that IS the issue.
---
L-E headline/story: "Police officer placed on administration leave with pay after shooting suspect * “The male came to the door, holding something in his hand behind his back,” Boren said of Apt. “They ordered him to drop it. The man came around with a pistol, pointing it at them. * (Officer Derrick) Moore then fired his weapon, striking Apt in the wrist. Apt was taken to the hospital, and Moore was placed on administrative leave with pay pending an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Boren said." -- Why's this guy on administrative leave? We NEED him back on the street!
---
L-E headline/story: "PHENIX CITY MAN ON DEATH ROW GETS NEW TRIAL * The charges against Harrison stemmed from a stabbing on Jan. 13, 1998. Authorities said Harrison, now 52, attacked Day inside his 18th Avenue home. * Harrison drove Day’s car around for several days after the slaying, trying to sell the Mazda 626 along with Day’s television and VCR. Surveillance cameras inside a local pawn shop later recorded Harrison selling more than 200 of Day’s CDs. * Harrison has maintained his innocence throughout his proceedings. He admitted fighting the victim but claimed Day struck him first, punching him in the ribs. Harrison pulled out a knife but said he only nicked Day’s neck. He claimed someone else must have killed Day later that night" -- Only 'nicked' his neck? Guess that's the excuse the al-Qaida would claim if brought to trial over beheading Daniel Pearl.

Carmike's loss this past quarter really reflects how out-of-touch the industry is with reality. Showing the same movies in "2D and 3D" splits the audience of a movie and doubles the cost of showing it. In addition, all those 'kiddie movies' being offered in 3D have backfired as parents look at it as being forced to pay adult prices for their children, and having to pay a premium adult price just to go with them. Throw in the high price of "celebrity voices" for animated characters just adds to the misery.
---
So Omar bin Laden wants proof... show him the pictures...maybe even insert them into a Father's Day Card.
---
L_E headline: "Mayor Tomlinson comes under fire for her public safety supplement proposal " -- This is exactly one of the issues of discussion between Mayor Wetherington and myself. Told him I could believe him if he told me this wouldn't happen, but there was nothing to prevent another mayor from trying to use the LOST money to prop up the ordinary budget by dipping into those funds for ordinary expenses
---
L-E's "Quotable": "Credit you give yourself is not worth having.” Irving Thalberg American film producer (1899-1936) -- Is this not the perfect adage to carve in the desk of every elected official and government administrator at every level of government?
---
The one question we haven't heard: "Why is a Ph.D a bonus for the director of Parks&Rec? Is it rocket science?

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

A moment of silence and remembrance for Haywood Turner III; a fellow BCer.
---
L-E story: "Muscogee County School District Superintendent Susan Andrews said at a work session Monday night that the district has little choice but to approve higher prices. * The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 has a clause that requires school systems to have equity in pricing. * “In order to get government reimburses for our free meals, we must raise the price of our meals until the price charged is equivalent to the federal reimbursement rate for the breakfast or lunch. We’re about 70 cents below that now but the government will only allow us to raise the price of our meals 10 cents per year so we’ll be doing this for seven years.” -- Another example of why the MCSD should not accept Washington money. It was our money to begin with, but government only returns about 20% of it to the community, and that comes with huge strings and conditions attached. "We" lose $ .70 a meal in order to get some "free"... like the old adage says, "There ain't no such thing as a 'free' lunch' ".
---
Good call, though, by the MCSD on putting Dr. Crumbs back at CHS. He's a good and capable man.
---
The Page one Awards at the River Center, the MEEF Teacher of the Year Award at the Convention Center, and the Junior Achievement Awards at the Cunningham Center are all being bestowed tonight..... wouldn't it be nicer, even more impacting, if all these honorees could be present together?
---

Monday, May 9, 2011

The "should be bumpersticker of the year: "My Dad/husband was a honor student at the Navy SEAL school".
---
If Bush 43 had dumped Osama bin Laden into the ocean, Greenpeace, PETA and Algore would all have been protesting about pollution, mistreating fish, and Global Harming.
---
L-E headline: "WASHINGTON REPORT * Georgia lawmakers omit mention of president" -- Hmmm...you know the last time I looked up the word, 'teamwork' there was no "I" in it, and Emperor Scarlet O'Bama knows no other word to describe his participation.
---
Between the Huffington Post becoming AOL News and the L-E closing for weekends, Monday Breakfast Club issues are might thin.

Sunday, May 8, 2011

Wonder if homeowners in the Memphis area will be able to add new flood insurance regardless of pre-existing conditions? Makes about as much sense, but actually would be fairer than HELL-thScare's version.
---
Ever had one of those moments when you wish your brakes failed as you approached an intersection? I had one yesterday. Driving up 2nd Ave, an adult, wearing NASCAR type bicycle gear and riding speedily on the sidewalk at 12th St, took a quick look, then sprinted across 2nd Ave as I was going through the intersection. A near miss only because I have quick reactions. Bet this is one of those guys that writes letters to the newspaper complaining about bicycles having the same rights on the roads as cars.
---
Seve... we hardly knew ya. Adios, amigo..Vaya con Dios.
---
Stopped at Krispy Kreme for the first time ever the other day, and bought a couple of custard filled chocolate iced doughnuts...Golden Donuts wins by a mile.
---
Emperor Acarlet O'Bama says he will not allow budget cuts that make it impossible for industries to grow and build plants in other states. Huh? Will some one remind the Emperor of his appointments to the Nationbal Labor Relations Board, and how he is against Boeing building a new plant in a right-to-worj state...
---
First off, why is anyone asking Gary Stickles about anything..this is the guy who was running the landfill when 100s of $1,000 of dollars in billings were either lost or unaccounted for. Council should have fired him then rather than giving him a lateral move job that has enabled him to retire with a pension. Give a new administrator an opportunity to run the garbage service before bailing out of twice a week service. Who knows, the garbage division might be in a lot better shape than Stickle says.
---
If Council really wants to save money, take the existing cross-walk monitors down, and either sell them to some other city or some scrap metal service. Columbus has spent literally millions of dollars on them, and will continue to do so if Council doesn't stop the automatic installations of them. Let parents and K-4 teachers teach kids how to properly (and safely) cross a street like it used to be done.
---
Wow! This City Manager's agenda item is in today's L-E: "TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTRACTOR (ANNUAL CONTRACT): It is requested that council approve the procurement of traffic signal contractor services from Signal One (Shiloh, Ga.). The traffic signal contractor will perform work for the city on an annual “as needed basis.” The primary traffic signal work will be the construction of new traffic signal installations, with the remaining work including the upgrade of signal equipment at existing traffic signal locations."
---
A liberal's "soundoff": "The fact that Republicans would even consider a first-term Florida Tea Bag as their presidential candidate tells us that they’ve taken one step up from Palin." -- I agree, and isn't this the same situation that Emperor Scarlet O'Bama was when the liberals elected him? Where's the liberal call for recall movement?
---
This should be the campaign slogan for every conservative politician running for election in 2012: "And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man."
---
Wonder if Michael Owen will tackle a mystery Ledger-Inquiring minds would like to know: What exactly were the community service assignments of the Parks&Rec 3, and have such assignments been completed, and can we see tangible evidence of such work? Please don't tell me such records were 'buried in the Chattahoochee, and we'll just have to trust such service has been done/completed.
---
Item from the City Manager's Agenda: "CARPET (ROLL & TILE) & CARPET INSTALLATION (ANNUAL CONTRACT): It is requested that council approve the purchase of carpet (roll & tile) and carpet installation services from Huckaby Brothers (Phenix City) on an “as needed basis.” The roll and tile carpet will be replacement and new carpet installations in various offices as a result of the renovations in City Government buildings. The estimated annual contract value is $40,000. " -- Why is an Alabama firm getting this contract from our City government?

From a fellow BCer:
Osama bin Laden's headstone
---
Online headline: "'Is This What Justice Looks Like?' * Killing 'godfather of terror was political' * Was Killing of bin Laden Legal? -- Ooops, my bad. Thought the main DUMB&DUMBERats had already turned on Emperor Scarlet O'Bama like they did on President Bush 43 a few day after 9/11.
---
Online headline: "Obama's Fraud Squad Targets Record Oil Price Plunge" -- Ooops, my bad again. Thought Pete, Linc and Julie were hired to reviving their show of the 60s/70s.
---
So Rashard Mendenhall thinks we shouldn't be elated at the death of Osama bin Laden. Champion just ended its contract with him over this, and it would be very appropriate for the Pittsburgh Steelers to decide to retire his number 34 jersey and pack him off to Pakistan.
---
L-E story: "A large crowd of Kiwanians, parents, and school officials gathered at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center May 3 as the Kiwanis Club of Columbus recognized 12 outstanding middle school students at the 17th annual T. Hiram Stanley Scholarship Awards Luncheon. " -- Unfortunately, the L-E only mentioned the name/school of only 1 of the 12; what a missed opportunity to praise, encourage, and reward young scholars.
---
As the school year comes to an end, soon would be a good time for the MCSD to publish a list of the SPLOST projects that need to be scrapped due to lower expected revenues. There's likely going to be a minimum $50,000,000.00 shortfall from the original projection.
---
L-E headline/story: "Raid reveals stealth helicopters By ROBERT BURNS AP National Security Writer * WASHINGTON — Secret until now, stealth helicopters may have been key to the success of the Osama bin Laden raid. But the so-far-unexplained crash of one of the modified Black Hawks at the scene apparently compromised at least some of the aircraft’s secrets." -- What an asinine idea! The very idea that anything was as (or more) important than the skills, bravery, and courage if the Navy SEALs is testament to how self-important the media has become.
---
From L-E story: "Vice President Joe Biden joined Obama in a briefing and in thanking the members of the mission behind closed doors. He emerged to the broader audience of troops and put it bluntly: “We just spent time with the assaulters who got bin Laden.” -- "Assaulters"? How about heroes or freedom fighters or patriotic Americans, but noooo, our VPOTUS calls these men "assaulters". Next week, to appease certain political supporters, Biden may call for their court martial!
---
L-E story: "EDINBURGH, Scotland — The Scottish National Party won a majority of seats in Scotland’s parliament and promised Friday to hold a vote on independence, while the Liberal Democrats suffered an enormous defeat in Britain, losing more than 600 local seats. " -- The tsunami of 2010 in America is sweeping across the ocean!
---
L-E headline: "Haas ahead of Mickelson by 1" -- True, BUT Haas isn't the leader.... Mickelson trails Perez by 2.
---
L-E headline: "ANALYSIS: THE DEATH OF BIN LADEN * Is it OK to cheer a death? " -- Ohhhh.... like there wasn't world wide Muslim cheering at the news that the Twin Towers were destroyed? While there is no joy involved, there is satisfaction/relief that the king of all cockroaches has been squashed (assuming Emperor Scarlet O'Bama can tell the truth...SHOW US THE PICTURES!).

Friday, May 6, 2011

Online headline: "The Dog That Took Down Osama Bin Laden?" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought Biden or Algore were trying to claim one of them had taken out Osama.
---
L-E headline: "Obama honors victims at ground zero " -- Maybe, maybe not. I do think there should be a poll taken of the victims' family member as to whether they believe it was an honor before saying so. After all, he has flown AF1 to NYC on dates, but it has taken him 2 plus years as president to bother to visit Ground Zero.
---
You really have to be concerned about April's Employment/Unemployment figures when you consider the full-fledged promotion McDonald's made about hiring 50,000 new employees on April 19th.
---
This will be an oft inclusion of the Breakfast Club: Diane Schneider, a representative with the National Education Association (NEA), said that graphic sex education needs to be taught in the classroom.

Thursday, May 5, 2011

The Huffington Post News reports it has found a small business owner who wants the Bush tax cuts repealed because it is only about a $12K difference than without the cuts. Hey, buddy, why not use that $12K to hire some more part time help or give existing employees a little 'bump' in pay, or if you're so determined to pay more in taxes, donate the $12K to the IRS, but don't look for sympathy!
---
Now that Osama bin Laden's will has been published, his children will need a death certificate in order to do probate. Do you think any probate court in any part of the Muslim world will take Emperor Scarlet O'Bama's word that Osama is dead? Show us the pictures!
---
The "Tear Of Grief" or "Teardrop" monument, dedicated to the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and "the struggle against world terrorism," was unveiled in Bayonne, NJ in 2006 as a gift from Russia. Though the monument was intended for a Jersey City location, city officials rejected it once they actually saw it; one 9/11 survivor even likened it to "a cross between a scar and a female sexual organ," according to Foreign Policy.

Would this not make a perfect addition across from the RiverCenter, next to the 'Viagra Falls' sculpture?
---
Listening to the reports, the re-write of those reports, and anticipating further re-writes of those reports on Emperor O'Bama's decision making protocol concerning the raid on Osama's compound, it's perfectly clear the Emperor has no real decision making protocol. Listening to everyone else's 'take' on the situation, and looking for consensus with which to explain it if something went wrong just demonstrates how poor the Emperor is in being decisive and taking responsibility for his choices.
---
L-E headline: "Columbus Council: Garbage, golf still hot topics during first budget meeting" -- Ooops, my bad. Didn't think they were actually talking about the garbage collections.
---
While Mayor Mother Teresa Obamalinson wants to reduce garbage pickup to once while not reducing the extra $14.00 a month we pay as the second pickup supplemental fee. The supplemental fee brings in over $9,000,000.00 annually to the City's coffers. I would like to see a complete breakdown of the garbage collection costs. , Using prisoners to pickup, it's not like frontline labor costs are running rampant. Show us the complete picture! Hmmm, is there a pattern developing? The Emperor Scarlet O'Bama didn't want to show his birth certificate; doesn't want to show us Osama bin Laden's death pictures, and fellow DUMB&DUMBERat Mayor Obamalinson doesn't want to show us anything either.
---
Pictures, video actually, of Leon Paneta watching 'live feed' of the SEALS action in Osama bin Laden's compound revealed something very strange... What was Timothy "Beavis" Geithner, Sec of the Treasury, doing in the CIA's office with Paneta?
---
L-E headline: "Questions, confusion in classrooms over bin Laden" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought maybe Emperor Scarlet O'Bama had enrolled into a "Decision Making and Foreign Policy for Dummies" class.
---
L-E story: "The leader of the Fort Sill Apache Tribe is looking for a formal apology from President Barack Obama for the government’s use of the code name “Geronimo” for Osama bin Laden. " -- Couldn't you just see this coming?
---
From L-E story: "JERUSALEM — Rival Palestinian factions celebrated the signing of a reconciliation pact they hope will end their four-year split and accelerate efforts to form an independent state. " -- Hmmm, must be the "Osama bin Laden Peace Dividend".
---
Picture in the L-E:
These are the "guard rail" supports. If they don't work, why do we pay good money to install/replace them?
---
L-E story: "Officials told Riverside Military coach Diego Vacca that four Eagles players, including Salsido, were ejected for their roles in the fight. * Vacca said he regretted the way the game ended and said players’ emotions boiled over after an intense game. * “I didn’t want it to end the way it ended up,” Vacca said. “But emotions come out, hormones come out, and you know how kids are.” -- Deja vu? Haven't we just heard the expression "you know how kids/boys are" from Coach Richt at UGA? What is it with coaches who slough off crimes of stealing and assault as just things all boys do as teens? What we have is lack of discipline and coddling of athletes.
---
Unbelievable L-E story: "WASHINGTON — The Justice Department wants to know why the NCAA doesn’t have a college football playoff system and says there are “serious questions” about whether the current format to determine a national champion complies with antitrust laws. " -- Can't you see the California Court of Appeals overturning the results of a game based on whether one team had an advantage because the other teams coach recruited a star out of the other coach's state, or for the "instant replay" referee falling asleep while on duty?

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

Interesting thought....Why would Al "The Ocean is Rising, the Ocean is Rising" Gore build move into a $9 million dollar house on the California coast with an elevation of only 180'?
---
If you listened to White House Counter-Terrorism Advisor John Brennan, you would think Emperor Scarlet O'Bama personally discovered the location of Osama bin Laden, and personally led the SEALS raiding party.
---
Condolezza Rice... Emperor O'Bama could have kept her on the job, but nooooo. he had to replace her with the Clintons.
---
Hmmm...so Osama bin Laden didn't have telephones or internet service at his compound, but was able to upload and download info via his computer. Guess the CIA should start running more intense body cavity searches looking for swallowed 'thumb drives' and replace 'waterboarding' with 'colonoscopies'.
---
Online headline: "Osama Bin Laden Was Unarmed During Navy SEAL Raid, Says White House " -- Overconfidence...or maybe just a bad choice?
---
Hearing Emperor Scarlet O'Bama beg us to believe his promise that Osama bin Laden is dead is about as believable as any of his campaign promises to fix our economy. Show us the long form 'death certificate' and the pictures!
---
Online story: "(Leon) Panetta said that bin Laden made "some threatening moves that were made that clearly represented a clear threat to our guys. And that's the reason they fired." -- Oh, he was there, too? Mr. Panetta, our men didn't need any other reason to kill Osama bin Laden than that just the fact they were in the same room with him. Besides, if the SEALS had extricated him out alive, and brought him back to the US, can't you see some liberal judge in California ruling that we have to let him go because he wasn't read his Miranda Act, or we didn't have a Pakistani Search Warrant?
---
Hmmm...Question: "How ethical is it for a body of elected officials being scrutinized by a designated group be allowed to cut the budget of the group designated to scrutinize it?
---
L-E headline/story: "18-year-old Columbus man pleads guilty to murder * Jeffrey Jones accepts plea deal to avoid life in prison without chance of parole * Jones’ charges of attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime were also dismissed. " -- Huh! What's the Parole Board going to look at when such a parole request is made? If someone is murdered by a gun shot, why would you drop the charge of him using a firearm during the crime?
---
Curiosity has me: Is there an office pool at the DA's as to when Curry's lawyer will file an appeal based on 'ineffective assistance of counsel"?
---
L-E headline/story: "Illegal immigrant student gets to stay at Kennesaw State * (Jessica)Colotl is set to graduate next week from Kennesaw State University and hopes to work for a year before applying to law school. " -- Wait a minute! How can someone who is illegally in our country, who has illegally taken state funds for her college tuition, be allowed to attend law school, much less be allowed to practice such?
---
L-E story: "PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Police in South Florida say they charged a man with stalking tennis star Serena Williams after he tried to enter her gated subdivision." -- Why arrest the guy? Why not just let him get caught by Serena; she's more than capable of beating him to a pulp, which should discourage further action on his part, and save the taxpayers a bunch of money.
---
Street scene: Saw a school bus parked in the lot of a McDonald's yesterday; had to wonder if it was a Michelle Obama research class on obesity in children.
---
This will be an oft inclusion of the Breakfast Club: Diane Schneider, a representative with the National Education Association (NEA), said that graphic sex education needs to be taught in the classroom.

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

From a fellow BCer heard at Evelyn's yesterday AM: "Can you prove Bin Laden is dead?
I WANT TO SEE HIS DEATH CERTIFICATE!" -- Now, this is funny.
---
Let's just pray Emperor Scarlet O'Bama doesn't take as long to produce pictures of Osama as he did his birth certificate.
---
Online headline: "9 Signs Inflation is Crushing America" -- And the number 1 sign that inflation is crushing America is Emperor Scarlet O'Bama smiling as he tees off in a foursome with Geithner, Bernanke and Ayers.
---
While it's is gratifying to see liberals emotionally moved in the right direction concerning the death of Osama bin Laden, like the day following 9-11-01, but who can forget how quickly the liberals resumed their hatred for Bush and the military in the days following. Once the DUMB&DUMBERats in Congress have gotten their picture taken wrapped up in a US Flag, you can bet they'll be back trying to shut down the military, and the future of America for our children and grandchildren.
---
What irony, the same guy that promoted one the biggest hoaxes ever on live TV (Al Capone's crypt) is the one I heard telling us about the death of Osama bin Laden.
---
Wonder if the liberals will understand that if Emperor Scarlet O'Bama gets a popularity jump, it will be caused by the killing of Osama, not by abandoning Gitmo or our soldiers in the Mid-East.
---
The jury is out in England as to whether they are as happy as we are about Osama's death. It has knocked William and Kate off the front page and which will probably affect the tourism numbers.
---
May Day will forever take on a different meaning in America and the world. From its beginnings a day of festivities here to a day of muscle flexing in Moscow, from now on it will the death date of Osama bin Laden.
---
L-E story: "In a new letter to congressional leaders, Geithner said Monday that he can delay an unprecedented default on the debt until Aug. 2, using a series of bookkeeping maneuvers to keep the government running. That’s nearly a month longer than the July 8 deadline Geithner had previously cited." -- We already knew that while "figures don't lie, liars figure a lot", but who'da thunk a DUMB&DUMBERat would be proud to admit it publicly?
---
L-E story: "HONOLULU — A close friend of President Barack Obama has pleaded no contest to soliciting a prostitute in Hawaii. * Obama and Titcomb have spent time together during the president’s vacations in Hawaii." -- Dang!nother DUMB&DUMBERat coming clean!
---
Chuck Williams wrote a proper eulogy for old 431S. May the future generations of Spring Breakers never experience the tragedies we grew up with.
---
I don't know which is the worse of two 'pictures' of Larry Mize published in the L-E 23 years apart. Today's or the one Steve Adamek tried to 'paint' in a column. Adamek went away soon after...but whoever chose to use the picture in today's L-E failed (probably intentionally) to give credit for the shot. L-E, you can do much better.
---
