Online headline: "Obama Acts As Healer-In-Chief In Tornado-Stricken Missouri" -- Unfortunately, Missouri was looking for a President who would/could do something.

Online headline: "Jared Loughner's Lawyers Want Notice If He Is Drugged" -- Why, so they can get their share of it?

L-E story on high speed railways: "If a referendum on the August 2012 ballot for a 1 cent sales tax that would last 10 years is approved, the money would provide matching funds for federal dollars designed to improve high-speed rail and other transportation needs." -- Why are we having a "SPLOST" type election scheduled in August rather than the November 2012 General election? Does the GA House/Senate think the issue cannot pass if the initiative is voted on when people have the greatest interest in the election? Didn't the GA Congress finally pass a bill that will keep the MCSD from scheduling future SPLOST referenda on days other than General Elections for this reason? Back to the drawing board, Columbus representatives!

L-E headline: "Ledger Inquirer *Monday, May. 30, 2011 * Rose Hill residents' problem gets response from mayor, city" -- "Ledger Inquirer"? There are times when I think the L-E has merged with the National Inquirer...is this confirmation?

From the L-E's "Weekly Agenda": "WEDNESDAY Happy birthday: “Blue’s Clues Live! Blue’s Birthday Party!” runs throughout June at Columbus State University Theater on the Park on the RiverPark campus at 901 Front Ave. The first show is at 9:30 a.m. today with tickets $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under -- What would really be fun is to go and watch the fireworks when some parent tries to drag his/her 11 year old child there to watch "Blue's Clues".

L-E headline/story: "The Muscogee County/Harris County Republican Women’s Association recently presented its second annual scholarship awards at the Columbus Public Library. Receiving scholarships were: ...........Stefan Wieczorwk, Columbus High School, going to the University of Georgia" -- Excuse me, but isn't this one of the CHS students who was caught vandalizing the CHS campus the night before graduation?

L-E headline: "Obama sees tornado’s aftermath * President promises national response to devastation" -- "Hope" Emperor Scarlett O'Bozo "Changes" his 'response to devastion' from the one that has devastated nour economy and future.

We went to another game of the NCBA baseball tournament at Golden Park last evening, but will not go back. We'd met a number of the players from UCSB last week, and felt a little connection, but that was lost last night when the National Anthem was played and a number of the players cajoled during the playing, and did not bother, no, did not desire to salute our flag, especially during Memorial Day weekend.

Last Thursday at 4:00 AM, a person drove his car off Standing Boy Road into a gas and utility metering station, and broke a gas line and disrupted Knology services. There was a cockamamie story about the driver swerving out of the way of 3 deer, and that caused the wreck. There was no mention of a sobriety test, nor no mention of the driver's name. I've been by the site twice, and there's no indication that any kind of spontaneous evasive action was taken. There are no tire markings indicating a hard braking situation, and the ground where the vehicle traveled shows no sign of stress one would see when a vehicle leaves the road and travels across the gras/dirt in an erratic manner. In fact, the tracks almost look like the vehicle was traveling in a slow and straight course. Why has this not been reported fully in our local media?
