Statistics from August of 2020 show that there are about 111,000 gas stations across the US.. and some 908,000 people are employed by them. Both figures are lower hat they were 20 and 10 years ago .. car's are more efficient being a big reason.. There are about 270 Million cars in America (about 2 Million are electric, so each gas station averages serving about 2,400 cars. Now with government mandates for the promotion of eliminating gasoline fueled cars, the number of gas stations will begin dropping precipitously in the next 15 years.. as will the jobs they create. Oh! And how about the effect on NASCAR... how will pit crews "recharge" the batteries on a 500 mile race.. are how will the "sound of silence" excite the crowds like the roar of race tuned engines?
