Spoiler Alert: I mentioned the higher costs of turkeys this year versus last, but what;s not being highlighted is the costs of cooking them..One of my BCers is an avid DYI Fried Turkey Aficionado, and he just informed me that the 35 pound container of peanut oil that cost $19.00 last year at Sam's, costs $55.00 this year.. Unless you use "new math" to calculate, this is almost tripling the cost! We're not just talking about inflation.. were talking INFLATION with a Capital "T" Right here in River City!

Online headline/story: "Many environmentalists back Biden’s move to tap oil reserve * Democrats and climate activists generally supported President Joe Biden’s decision to release a record 50 million barrels of oil from America’s strategic reserve, even as the move appeared to contradict his long-term vision of combating climate change" -- You know... when JoKKKe Biden was elected in November of 2020, gasoline's average price was about $2.10 a gallon.. and it began rising immediately. Now the average is over $3.40 per gallon That's a 62% INCREASE in less tha 11 months. MSM... and believe it or not, the ECO-freaks that want to eliminate fossil fuels...are ecstatic that Resident Biden wants to release 50,000,000 barrels from our Strategic Reserves. That's about a 3 day supply of oil America will use, but it's also joyful for OPEC... we won't see any decreases as OPEC will simply reduce production and raise prices... KNOWING those Strategic Reserves will NEED to be replaced, and JoKKKe Biden has stopped America from being able to do this ourselves...

Online story: "The Labor Department said Monday that it had finalized a regulation that sets a $15 wage floor for workers under federal contracts. Firms providing services to the U.S. government will have to pay workers at least that much under contracts implemented or renewed starting Jan. 30, 2022. * The rule covers not just workers on federal properties but anyone who works under a service or construction contract with the government. It applies in all U.S. territories and states * After the initial bump to $15, the wage rate will be tied to an inflation index so that it increases with the cost of living, requiring firms to adjust their minimums each year. The rule will also eliminate the tipped minimum wage by 2024, requiring firms to pay the full minimum wage, not counting gratuities, at restaurants and other businesses under federal contracts." -- Hmm.. and you KNOW what this means.. Every non-federal worker will be hit by a tax increase to cover it... and it will mean that all non-federal businesses will have to compete with government to hire workers, and these businesses will disadvantaged as their customers WON'T be the federal government which can simply raise OUR taxes to cover any increases in costs to federal agencies..

---
Online story: "The Justice Department filed a lawsuit on Tuesday seeking to block a major U.S. sugar manufacturer from acquiring its rival, arguing that allowing the deal would harm competition and consumers." -- Hmmm...so controlling "sugar" is more important than controlling the harm to US citizens caused by illegal aliens swarming over our Southern Border..

---
Online story: "The families of most of those killed and wounded in the 2018 Florida high school massacre announced Monday have reached a multi-million dollar settlement with the federal government over the FBI's failure to stop the gunman even though it had received information he intended to attack." -- Excuse me... how can the federal government "settle" with citizens for something it didn't do simply because the FBI cannot arrest private citizens for a crime they haven't committed yet, and at the same time, the federal government has stonewalled settlement of FBI agents who COMMITTED crimes (FISA warrants et al) against private citizens?

---
Online story: "President Joe Biden will require essential, nonresident travelers crossing U.S. land borders, such as truck drivers, government and emergency response officials, to be fully vaccinated beginning on Jan. 22, the administration planned to announce." -- Hmmm...I guess he's saying illegal aliens, drug and sex traffickers are not "essential" so they don't NEED to be vaccinated......

Wow! Columbus, GA has just recorded homicide number 63, which is already 17 (37% higher) more than we had in all of 2020.... and the "busy season" is just beginning...

WTVM-TV9 story: "COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Senator Jon Ossoff was in Columbus today to talk about President Biden’s newly passed infrastructure law and what it means for the folks in the Fountain City. The bill will bring over $11 billion to the Peach State and go towards upgrading Georgia’s transportation and transit infrastructure. * Today, Senator Ossoff joined Mayor Skip Henderson and other Muscogee County leaders at the METRA Transfer Center. * It’s unclear how much money Muscogee County is expected to receive. However, city council says they plan to use the money for electric charging stations and to upgrade other infrastructure." -- "unclear what Muscogee County is expected to receive"? Hmmm... maybe a Republican state legislator should have delivered the news.. seems like the Democrats already shafted GA from getting "it's fair share". As one of 50 states, GA's share should be $24 BILLION. and if it was meted out "per capita", GA's share would be way up there. Perspective wise, Bernie's Vermont gets $2.2 Billion, one-fifth the amount we get, but Vermont has only 623,000 population which is only one-seventeenth of GA's population.

Instant repeat of WTVM-TV9 story: "It’s unclear how much money Muscogee County is expected to receive. However, city council says they plan to use the money for electric charging stations and to upgrade other infrastructure." -- Excuse me.. but is Council going into business of charging electric cars? Shouldn't that be a private enterprise? Oh, and what rate would the City charge... for charging... and would there be an automatic parking ticket for cars charging more than 2 hours?

WRBL-TV3 version of the same story: "COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – President Joe Biden signed the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill on Nov. 15. Of the $1.2 trillion Georgians will see $12.34 billion * The infrastructure bill plans to create thousands of jobs, stimulate the economy, and revitalize roads, bridges, and highways. Here in Columbus, it has not yet been determined exactly where all the funds will be allocated." -- "Plans to create thousands of jobs, stimulate the economy, and revitalize roads, bridges, and highways"? Of course, "plans to" is not the same as "WILL". It's a typical Democrat political promise...

Online headline: "Biden expected to nominate Shalanda Young for budget director * If confirmed by the Senate, Young would become the first Black woman to hold the position" - America will not be able to "move on" until headlines like this concentrate on character and ability rather than gender and race.

---
Headline: "Biden Energy Sec. Granholm admits she does not know U.S. oil consumption rate when pressed by reporter * Biden's plan to release 50M barrels of oil would last less than three days, reporter suggests" -- Like I said... America cannot move forward until our leaders are selected by their character and ability rather than gender and race...

---
Online headline: "CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC ignore NYT bombshell report on Hunter Biden's business deal with Chinese company" -- Hunter Biden... when his dad was VP, was involved in the sale of an American Cobalt mine to China... Hunter Biden probably knew less about cobalt than he did Ukraine Energy when he sat on the Board of Burisma..also when his dad was VP...

---
Online headline: "False media reporting that Rittenhouse transported rifle 'across state lines' leads to corrections, mockery" -- MSM has made such an issue over Kyle Rittenhouse "crossing over" the Illinois-Wisconsin state line as though he set out on a week long mission of terror! Well. From Antioch, IL to Kenosha, Wi is but 15.8 miles. That's closer than it is for us in Columbus, GA to cross over the Alabama state line to get to Opelika/Auburn. For the record, the Riverwalk in Columbus, GA is LONGER than the 15.8 miles between Antioch, IL and Kenosha, WI.

From the "even Bill Clinton cannot describe the word like this" department - Online headline/story: "San Francisco’s Mayor Has a ‘Genius’ Idea to Stop Looting Over the Holiday * So what “big and bold” idea has San Francisco Mayor London Breed come up with to stem the tide of this crime wave in her city? * Limit parking. * And/or limit traffic." -- Good grief! It would be better to just search every car entering/leaving the the shopping area for licenses. insurance cards and receipts for everything in their cars... but if there's no "parking" there is no shopping! What a stoopid politician... Democrat, of course!

---
WRBL-TV3 headline: "On way out General Assembly door, Columbus’ Rep. Calvin Smyre gets a standing ovation across party lines" -- Well deserved.. good luck in Haiti!

---
Online headline: "Experts' blasted for cautioning against use of term 'looting' to describe large-scale California thefts" -- Good grief! Not use "looting"? There are few words in our dictionary that are as clear meaning as "looting"... it is what it is! These so-called "experts" need to be banned from commenting about everything!

---
Online headline: "Brian Laundrie update: Family surrendered guns to law enforcement on Sept. 17 -- but one was missing" -- Hmm.. yet that now they tell us Laundrie committed suicide with a bullet to his head, we still haven't been told if the "Missing Gun" was recovered...Triggers don't pull themselves.. and guns do not walk off by themselves..

---
If his actions about sending unrequested absentee ballot requests to most GA registered voters prior to the 2020 elections wasn't enough to warrant the GA Republican Party to oust his connection to the GA Republican Party in the future, now we learn than Multi-Billionaire Mark 6uckerberg donated $5.6 MILLION to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office last year . Guess that paid most of the postage...GA GOP should not even allow him to enter the primary!

---
Glad to see Muscogee County did not.. repeat... DID NOT MAKE THE LIST of the 50 Laziest Counties in the US.. from our crime rates, it sounds like our criminal element was constantly active.. maybe low/no cash bail had a lot to do with it...

---
Online headline: " Stephen Colbert mourns Kyle Rittenhouse acquittal: We should change the law" -- "Change the law"? What I think is Colbert should be forced to practice FCC regulations concerning lying on air.

---
Online headline: "US COVID-19 deaths in 2021 surpass 2020's toll" -- Hey, Resident Biden.... looks like your "better than Trump's" plan was just another campaign lie.

---
From the "blame everything but reality and the truth" department - Online headline: "DC hits grim homicide milestone not seen in nearly 2 decades, mayor blames pandemic for increase DC police recorded 200th homicide – record not reached since 2003" -- Wow.. yet we only hear about the few homicides tha happen in the shadows of the White House?

---
Of course JoKKKe Biden says he will run again in 2024.. he has to say so! If he said he wasn't, half or more of Democrat Congressional members would be voted out of office for fear of Chuckles Harris being what the DNC puts on the ballot.

---
Online headline: "Dodge Hellcat V8s to die in 2023 due to government fines" -- Fines just killed a working product.. maybe there ought to be fines for Democrats working so hard to ruin our country...

---
Online headline: "NYC may soon let 800,000 non-US citizens vote" -- Good grief! Nothing but blatant fraud preparation for 2022/2024!

On Monday, I published an item that contained a word that may have distorted my message.. I ran a spell check on the e-mail, but not a  "grammar" check so I'm running it corrected today as we prepare to pause for Thanksgiving Day reflections:

This week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. Most of us will be thanking God for providing us with HIS bounty. Unfortunately, too many will be thanking government ....
