Friday that was being played with highly restrictive attendance "for (unspecified) safety reasons (though we can pretty much guess). The Columbus Police Department has confirmed with News 3 that an unidentified male body was found in the creek near Camille Drive and Cherokee Avenue." -- Hmmm.. the man had wreck on Manchester Expressway which "totaled" the car he was driving/in, and he 's found many blocks away .. dead... in a creek .. Could this be Number 6 in 2022 homicides?

Did hear a legitimate.. though inefficient one... reason our Columbus, GA Council and School Districts "have to have" different district lines... Government regulations ....and like so many..this one is one of the more stupider ones...... Seems the School District regulations have to count on-base Ft Benning residents (versus the City not having to do so).....even though they aren't necessarily Columbus voters or taxpayers... in the "body count" for districting purposes. Think about this.. the district that gets the Ft Benning number of people means that the School Board District Representative doesn't actually represent as many Columbus families/students as the other 7 District Representatives. This also means the families in the other 7 School Districts don't have an equal representation or voice in decisions.

WTVM-TV9 story: "PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (WTVM) - In honor of Black History Month, Chipley Historical Center is hosting a new exhibit honoring Horace King. * King was born into a family of enslaved people in 1807 and found his freedom. He later started a career as an architect, engineer and bridge builder, constructing dozen of bridges in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. * One includes the Dillingham Bridge in Columbus. * The exhibit opened January 30 with a lecture series and small celebration. Organizers of the exhibit spoke with us about the importance of the history. * “We talk about history... you can’t change history but you do need to understand it in order to not do some of the things we did in the past,” said Cindy Dowden with the Chipley Historical Center. * The exhibit will run through May 27. " -- Wow!... The last thing Columbus did to highlight Horace King was to not notice... until after-the-fact... when a building he built at the City Mill site was unceremoniously torn down.
