Good grief! 2019 National figures for reading proficiency showed only 35% of 4th grade students were reading at their minimum level (my recent 4th grade graduated granddaughter, in a Christian school, reads at a high school level... including script writing), and as noted, this abominable National figure was BEFORE classroom lockouts issued for Covid-19. Now locally, I'm still looking for the MCSD figures... and I don't think they will be as "good" as the national average.... otherwise, they'd probably be more easily available.

What she doesn't say is 1 - the test wasn't given until 2 hours after he was arrested so it was much higher at the time of his arrest, nor 2 - that .08 BAC is a the overwhelming level states use to determine what level of BAC determines whether a driver is committing a potentially deadly crime. What's also truly evident is the DA treated Queen PeLOUSY's husband to special privileges versus justice.

I mentioned 2 past Columbus, GA City employees who were convicted of embezzling funds recently, and how their sentencing included their reimbursement of some of those funds (ALL should have be requires!). Well, seems a lot of the money for the Demps situation has been "discovered" in bogus accounts in the Clerk's Office and the City has gotten that back (still short $1.6 plus million), but he's in jail and will be there for a while, but former Parks and Rec head Adams moved out-of-town (to my understanding). The Court and Council should follow-up NOW and bring to light his record of any paybacks .. and if he's not making progress at a consistent and reasonable rate, bring him back to court on a sentencing violation..

How can an elected law enforcement official sleep at night knowing he is responsible for allowing arrested felons being released within minutes of n=being processed!
