Paws rescued 27 cats from Collier and Madison counties in Florida whose shelters were impacted by the storm. * Pierce says the cats rescued from Florida will be available for adoption once they receive their vaccinations and are spayed or neutered. “ -- Seriously .... People in Florida have shipped 27 cats to Columbus, GA ? I didn’t think Paws Humane was even accepting local ctas! Sounds like a money grab to me as I imagine most of these Florida cats will probably end up with “notched ears” and put out near the RiverWalk.

While it's refreshing to hear and see students being responsible, it's discouraging that the Muscogee County School System was not on top of the issue earlier, and that the Columbus GA City Manager ignored it, too.
