Online headline: "Columbus State University hosts Democratic leaders on listening tour" -- Hmmm...on a self-proclaimed "listening tour", local Columbus GA  Democrat legislator Teddy Reese told a handful of Columbus State students that Democrats care about their "concerns" and "issues"... what he didn't say was that they care about the students' FUTURE! Another local Democrat legislator was mentioned/shown, but the WTVM-TV9 report did not say/mention was whether Dem Representative Carolyn Hugley, wife of Columbus GA City Manager "I-See-Nothing" Hugley, and GA Democrat Minority Leader was at the event.

Note: Did you know that Columbus GA Legislator Carolyn Hugley splits her political time and energy as the Senior Analyst for the  Mississippi State Legislature's Joint Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review, and as the Director of Planning and Economic Development with the Lee County (GA) Council of Governments? Hmmm... seems like her time would be better spent helping Columbus GA get better.

WTVM-TV9 headline “half-truth”: "White House denies Georgia’s request for extended Hurricane Helene relief deadline * FEMA said they would not issue another extension for Georgia and several other states to apply for federal relief funds" -- Hmmm... looks like Columbus GA's WTVM change in management is also a change in honesty as well... This headline is somewhat "misdirecting" in truthfulness... down in the story, Governor Kemp is quoted: “We had already gotten one extension so to do another one would’ve really been abnormal,” Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp told Atlanta News First on Monday. “We were prepared for that in case that was not to happen.” Kemp also said he “worked with lawmakers to put additional relief funding in the amended state budget. Industries like farming and forestry, two of Georgia’s largest that lost a combined $5.5 billion in the storm, and cities and counties would be able to access those state funds.”, and  “We definitely still have a lot of work to do,” said Kemp. “My message to them is look, we’ll continue to work on this, make everything whole, and make sure that we continue to get all that trash picked up and put our communities back together.”  Sounds to me that the White House and Gov Kemp are on the same page… wish WTVM-TV9 would join them…

This past Saturday, at 1:57 PM, the School Zone lights in the North-bound lanes of River Road at River Road School were “flashing”, then last evening, the same lights were “flashing” at 6:09 PM as we drove home.. Who knows if the “speeding cameras” were active as well. but regardless.. the Muscogee County School District needs to get its act together on this aspect as well… in other words. This NEEDS TO BE FIXED!

A great crowd of about 1,300 assembled for the " Black History Month" breakfast at the Columbus GA Trade Center. Texas Democrat Representative Jasmine Crockett challenged those in attendance to not only celebrate Black History but to push back when people try to erase or alter it. What she didn’t say is all history can be presented in an overly biased point of view, and that history should record all aspects rather than one…

The sellers, because of the high rates left by Biden policies, are having to lower their asking prices to get to payment rates buyers (especially first time buyers) can qualify for loans.. This means the sellers are having to lose a great deal of what they thought was their "nest egg" if they have to sell, and have reduce their home price to do so. Nobody wins at these high interests rates!
