This past weekend was "billed" as a "No KINGs" protest, but what it turned out to be was a "No Clue" protest...

---
According to a WRBL-TV3 news story, “ Many people rallied across America on Saturday for the ‘No Kings’ Protest, and a local organization brought the rally to Columbus GA. * Participants were also joined by local officials to push the message and embody the democracy in the Columbus GA that the community wants to see in the future.” -- You know.. if this was such a "good thing" for Columbus, GA,  why weren't "local officials" who "joined in" identified? Usually, when there's a "photo-op" event that's a "good thing", politicians CLAMOR to be front and center of any available news camera....

---
I'm curious.. were any of the eligible  "No Clue" protesters denied an opportunity to vote last November when the Electoral College vote gave Trump a 62% to 38% landslide victory? You know... a MAJOR part of DEMOCRACY is for the losing side of an election to accept the results, work with the winning side... at least until the next election cycle where everyone gets a chance to vote on issues again.

Online headline/story: “Fed Chairman Powell admits central bank may have helped fuel pandemic housing boom * Fed action did little to discourage buying frenzy * The Fed’s goal of buying MBS (Mortgage-Back Securities) is to provide support to the mortgage and housing market. During the pandemic, the Fed bought a lot of these securities to help keep home borrowing costs down and support financial markets. But Powell admitted it’s “challenging to determine” how much they affected the housing market, which was already running hot at the time.  * Data from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas showed that home prices rose to record levels during the COVID-19 pandemic, spiking as much as 19% in July 2021. This surge came at a time when stimulus checks and extended unemployment benefits boosted household incomes while very low mortgage rates, driven by the Fed's emergency policies, fueled the demand for housing." --  HMMM....remember when Trump called Powell on this even before he took office!  Yes, as usual .. Trump WAS right.. Trump IS right!

Online headline/story: "Search for Columbus’ next city manager enters final stages, mayor says * Mayor Skip (a.k.a. “Skippy the Pooh”) Henderson confirmed Monday that the finalists — a mix of local and out-of-town applicants — will be interviewed Tuesday. * The city has only had two city managers in the past three decades — Carmen Cavezza and Isaiah Hugley." -- Wow! It's almost.. in a word.. sacrilegious.. to put former City Managers retired General Carmen Cavezza and "I-see-a-nothing" Hugley in the same sentence, but I really hope the "search group" being used had nothing to do with the hiring of that recently fired School Superintendent in Iowa, or the recent firings of City Managers in a couple of GA cities. Also, I hope the "local candidates" are not internal candidates that were influenced by Hugley....

Online headline/story: “'No Kings' protester steps up to mic and calls for ICE agents to be 'shot,' 'wiped out' * "A staff member at Wilbur Wright College is calling for ICE agents to get ‘shot’ and ‘wiped out.’  * A man was captured on video calling for federal immigration agents to be shot while he spoke at a "No Kings" rally in Chicago * "You gotta grab a gun, we gotta turn around the guns on this fascist system," the "No Kings" protester * "These ICE agents gotta get shot and wiped out." -- Hmm Wilbur Wright College... over 9,300 students attend the Chicago Community college whose MOTTO is : "Education That Works"... Now we must look askance and ask.."Works for whom?" Obviously it doesn't "work" for America or the students. Hmmm... this "Peaceful Protest" must be a Bill Clinton defined version..

If I take my Synovus card to a Synovus ATM, I can withdraw cash with no fee charged... If I take my non-Synovus card to a Synovus ATM, there is an outrageous $5.00 fee to get cash using it.. It doesn't matter if I want $10.00 or $600.00, the fee is $5.00... So, why does Columbus GA Council  allow a bank processing contractor to charge 2.5% for using the same card for making payments or paying Columbus GA services?  Example.. paying $600.00 for Columbus GA  taxes/fees costs $15.00 in a "Convenience Fee" (or for, say, paying taxes “online”… or in person as well…has a $25.00 PER $1,000.00 “fee”), yet using the same card at a Synovus ATM cost $5.00.  This is on Columbus GA Council! Oh! By the way.. the City doesn’t get any of that “convenience fee”.. Oh.. while I don’t know for a fact (I could be wrong.. but probably not), but with no one on City Council seeming to have any idea of the contractor or “deal”, I’d say it probably was made by the current Mayor or last City Manager…
