Online headline/story: "The Justice Department had to go to extraordinary lengths to conduct a raid on top Trump lawyer Michael Cohen * On Monday, the FBI raided Cohen's Manhattan office, his home, and his hotel room, as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Vanity Fair reported. The FBI was apparently acting on a referral from the special counsel Robert Mueller." -- It's bad enough that the NYT is mentioned in the same breath as the WSJ, but including "Vanity Fair" as a reputable news source , too, just proves that Robert Mueller should be arrested and charged with 'lying to the American people" about not considering Trump as a criminal..

Let's face it, if everything Mueller feels is true, a negotiated deal to quash a negotiated "deal" is not against the law anyway..

Even sadder is the disregard of the FBI on two aspects the American citizens has faith in.. 1 - the lawyer-client privacy, and 2 - the gestapo tactics exposed of past and current Obama administration hirees.. Not only in this event, but in the cover-ups of the Clintons.. both Clintons... and the DOJ, during the last election cycle..
---
From the "who'da ever thunk it" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "2013 Syrian gas attack survivor: Whole world 'should be ashamed' * Kassem Eid, a Palestinian Syrian rebel and human rights activist, called on the international community to “do something” to stop the conflict, which has killed hundreds of thousands of Syrians since it began in 2011. * “My message to the international community is that you should be ashamed,” Eid said Sunday during an appearance on CNN. “You are as guilty as [Syrian President Bashar Assad] and [Russian President Vladimir Putin] and Iran on the atrocities in Syria.”" -- Good grief.. Bashar ASSwad is as terrible as he seems, but that's not Nikki Haley's fault.. what's happened is a Muslim has escaped to America in 2014, has been adopted by mainscream media and Hollywood, and has been indoctrinated into blaming the people who actually are helping... Eid has become possibly the first Muslim liberal.. who'da thunk it?.. and like all libs, will not mention other libs as the problem. It was Obama who had a chanced to quash ASSwad, but he passed on the opportunity.

Online headline: "Stormy Daniels working with artist to sketch man who threatened he " -- Hmmm... and in the day of cellphones glued to everyone's hands, a video porn queen didn't have hers "handy" to at least get a picture of the "culprit" as "he" left the area...Nice try, legal-whore Michael Avenatti...
---
I've got jury duty this week...Since Mayor Tom-LYING-son is pretty much on the record saying the Government Center is "condemned" as the Chief Public Safety Officer, doesn't she put herself liable if I get injured while on jury duty?
---
No wonder Columbus is cash strapped... I'm serving on jury duty this week, and the jury manager apologized for the 9th Street parking lot being full because the 'Exit Gate' is broken and everybody parks there. Excuse me..at $2.00 a car. How much DAILY is the City losing? Even if it takes a while repair the exit gate, I "feel" there's more than enough "cash flow" to pay a person to man the exit gate and take people's parking fees.
---
In my haste yesterday, I failed to note the the Civil War ended with Lee surrendering to Grant at Appomattox, VA 153 years ago.. of course, I don't recall seeing this in the L-E (I could be wrong), but then again, the L-E is a member of the movement to rewrite history so that the Civil War has never ended.
---
I remember April 9th for another reason.. 53 years ago, my wonderful Cocker Spaniel, Tarheel, died after being attacked by a pack of 3 large dogs. I'm reminded of my sadness every year at this time by the prolific ground covering of oak pollen.. I still see Tarheel's torn body covered in the stuff when I found him....
---
So far, a city in Virginia has written 2,000 tickets to cars :not keeping up with traffic" in the left hand lane.. think about this.. you could be riding in the left lane at 5-MPH OVER the posted speed limits, and get a ticket for "slow driving".. Wouldn't Virginia be better off writing tickets for SPEEDING in the left lane for those who don't feel the posted speed limits are meant for them?
---
From the "obviously, the L-E not invited" department - L-E headline/story: "Campaign cash stop? Paul Ryan finally visits TSYS * In what may have been a campaign-related search for political donations, U.S. Speaker of the House and Rep. Paul Ryan made a fairly clandestine visit to the headquarters of TSYS in Columbus on Monday. * Security for the visit by Ryan, who was accompanied by U.S. Rep. Drew Ferguson of Georgia’s 3rd District, wasn’t off the charts, Mims said. The politicians had a security team with them, while the Columbus Police Department provided an escort for the drive from the Columbus Airport." -- Of course the L-E is "peeved" at not hearing about this until "after the fact".. but the L-E didn't deserve otherwise.. now I do wonder at what benefit Columbus got if he was driven to TSYS.. a helicopter ride would have kept him from seeing the blight on the available routes and the condition of our streets .
---
Looks like the L-E's replacement ("Two Cents Worth") for "Soundoff" wasn't worth the "two cents".. it's apparently "worthless" for today's L-E Edition and didn't make the final edition.
---
Wow.. the MCSB District 6 race is now down to two... incumbent Mark Cantrell, and a Russell County, AL assistant high school principal. Students nor voting citizens in Columbus have no real choice for improvement. A candidate who e[works in another state's school system, and a metal building businessman who has not publicly condemned the excessive costs the MCSD is willing to pay ($750,000.00) for a 40' X 60' metal building on a concrete slab.
---
Columbus is in bad shape news wise, too, now.. We've long accepted the demise of the L-E as a reputable news source, but yesterday, WTVM-TV9 joined "the party".. all day, WTVM announced that the Republican party "meet 'n greet" for the Columbus Mayoral candidates was last night, while in fact, it's tonight.. of course INFORMED voters of Columbus know this. Now WTVM-TV9 could help Columbus by reporting the May elections will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd rather than Tuesday, May 22nd so that the more informed voters will get here to actually vote.

From the "another one bites the dust" department - L-E headline: "US airstrike kills ISIS leader in his northern Afghanistan hiding place" -- Whew.. whatta difference an American patriot president makes.
---
From the "isn't it funny" department - L-E headline/story: "Analysis says deficit will hit $1T by 2020 * The CBO report says the twin tax and spending bills will push the budget deficit to $804 billion this year and just under $1 trillion for the upcoming budget year." -- Hmmm.. isn't it funny that mainscream media is now concerned about government budget shortfalls.. hardly a word was mention about our National Debt DOUBLING under Obama .. and while our military and national law enforcement officers were denied proper equipment an other government support.
---
L-E headline: "Teachers acquire a new skill: How to stop the bleeding" -- Hmmm... since there is such a course for teachers, there ought to be one for government officials on "How to stop the bleeding" for local, state, and National government officials in charge of budgeting..
---
L-E headline/story: "Child advocates ask FTC to investigate YouTube * The fine print of You-Tube’s terms of service has a warning that goes unheeded by millions of children who visit You-Tube to watch cartoons, nursery rhymes, science experiments or videos of toys being unboxed. * “If you are under 13 years of age, then please do not use the service,” the terms say. “There are lots of other great websites for you.”" -- Talk about folly.. how can Child Advocates blame You-Tube if Children's parents are not doing their job.. the only thing that will stop this is a blanket law that prohibits minors from accessing the Internet... and such a law is not going to get passed.

---
L-E headline: "Trump says he’ll ‘make it up’ to farmers hurt by tariffs" -- You know.. whatta relief it must be for farmers to hear this... from a president that makes his best effort to deliver on hos promises...

Looks like Trump has trivialized mainscream media....again.... Once again, Trump has declined the "invite" to the White House Correspondents Dinner.. looks like mainscream media will stay "all messed up and nowhere to crow".

Do you reckon women Islamic terrorists feel there are 72 virgins waiting for them following a suicide mission?
---
From the "as if we didn't know" department - Online headline: "Trump slams DOJ, FBI over missed document deadline: 'What is going on?'" -- Hmmm... old school politics as usual is my guess... further evidence that the swamp needs draining..We... and I mean the American citizens, need a new law... a toothy law forbidding nepotism in politics... especially in Washington, D.C... it's really depressing to read where the spouse of a politician or government department exec works for another government department or gets government contracts..
---
From the "even the blind liberal finds an acorn...occasionally" department - Bill Maher interviewed "Geraldo"... another journalist.. Marlow Stern started his Daily Beast "report" of it with, "There was a time, believe it or not, when Geraldo Rivera was considered an intrepid news reporter." -- Talk about hitting the nail on the head!
---
From the " 'political correctness' still walks among us.. unfortunately" department: Online story: "An upstate New York nurse was charged with decapitating her 7-year-old son with a large-blade kitchen knife in a grisly attack 10 days after she was released from a hospital psych ward, according to police. * Hanane Mouhib, 36, was charged with second-degree murder Thursday after police, responding to frantic 911 calls, found the first-grader, Abraham Cardenas, in the family’s Sweden, N.Y., home. * According to court papers, Mouhib stabbed the child in the upper back and cut his neck, severing his head.
* "There's absolutely no explanation for this," Sheriff Todd Baxter said at a news conference Friday." -- "There's absolutely no explanation for this"? .. Hello! Excuse me.. Does the name "Hanane Mouhib" not give a clue? Did the sheriff bother to notice that the name, "Hanane Mouhib" is probably Islamic... and in her eyes this was "OK"...
---
L-E headline/story: "Vacant lot offers blank canvas for Columbus * The property is the former Booker T. Washington Apartments, which were built in 1941 at the intersection of Victory Drive and Veterans Parkway, the latter known years ago as Fourth Avenue * “We can screen out what we think are not good uses for our community. We would look to get something for the highest and best use of that property.”" -- "best use of property"? You know.. this is typical government inefficiency.. "tear down without a clue for future use"... I think the priority now would be for a use that does not include "Curb cuts" on Veterans Parkway or Victory Drive.. the intersection is already inefficient.. but what might be a better priority is for business(es) that do not open at night nor weekends... no business (other than a parking lot) would survive during South Commons/Civic Center events.

L-E headline: "COLUMBUS * Rapper killed outside Pizza Hut" -- 11
---
L-E commentary headline: "What government interest is served by disenfranchising felons?
* BY GEORGE WILL Washington Post Writers Group" -- Good grief... it's not about "government interests... it's about America's and it's citizens' interests and safety.. without "rules" convicted criminals (versus political criminals) could rule the roost and write their own rules) like the current "political criminals" do.. Our forefathers recognized that there have to be rewards for obeying the laws of the country... and voting rights are the most important one.
---
As skilled as he is, Rory McIlroy is not "good for the game".. he attitude (if I'm not going to win, why try) stinks .. .. The Masters...watching McIlroy trivialize himself made pulling for everyone else even more fun.
Speaking of the Masters, I think I saw our Jimmy Blanchard out on the First tee Sunday.
---
From the "when we BUILD THE WALL, California should be on the other side" department - Online headline/story: "Proposed Law Says Suspects With Imitation Weapons Can't Be Shot By Police" -- You know.. California legislators who vote for this bill should have to work a week as a patrol officer in a large California city until they have to face/arrest someone who's actually carrying a gun before being able to vote on this asinine bill.
---
L-E commentary headline: "What government interest is served by disenfranchising felons?
* BY GEORGE WILL Washington Post Writers Group" -- Good grief... it's not about "government interests... it's about America's and it's citizens' interests and safety.. without "rules" convicted criminals (versus political criminals) could rule the roost and write their own rules) like the current "political criminals" do.. Our forefathers recognized that there have to be rewards for obeying the laws of the country... and voting rights are the most important one.

From the "have you seen the log in your own eye" department - Online story: "Apple CEO Tim Cook has doubled down on his objection to repealing DACA, an immigration policy which temporarily protects certain young, otherwise undocumented immigrants from deportation. * "The DACA situation is one that I am truthfully, as an American, deeply offended by," Cook says, according to an excerpt of an interview with MSNBC's Chris Hayes and Recode's Kara Swisher set to air Friday, April 6. * "The DACA situation is not an immigration issue. It's a moral issue. This is a moral issue," Cook says." -- "Moral issue"? Cook is one to talk about morals... wasn't too long ago we found out his company was intentionally "slowing down" our Apple electronics after a certain period ... in order to make the public want to buy a replacement product.. Cook is wrong about something else... DACA is not a LAW.. it's a one-man policy decision to CIRCUMVENT EXISTING LAWS... what is MORAL about this?
---
From the "as if we didn't know" department - Online headline: "Trump slams DOJ, FBI over missed document deadline: 'What is going on?'" -- Hmmm... old school politics as usual is my guess... further evidence that the swamp needs draining..We... and I mean the American citizens, need a new law... a toothy law forbidding nepotism in politics... especially in Washington, D.C... it's really depressing to read where the spouse of a politician or government department exec works for another government department or gets government contracts..

Did you see the furor of an attack on a busload of UFC fighters by Conor McGregor? Wonder how much he percent was of all the free publicity and interest it creates for the next UFC Extravaganza?
---
L-E headline: "Developer wraps up Columbus project, eyes faster-growing cities" --Confirmation of the failure of Mayor Tom-LYING-son's "Reign of Error-After-Error"... and another reason Amy Bryan should not be considered for a Council Seat... nor.. for that matter.. extension of her job - Executive VP - Community Development and growth - at the Chamber...
---
From the "justice appears in many ways" department - Online headline/story: "‘Hamilton’ star Lin-Manuel Miranda has shingles * The 38-year-old wrote the book, music and lyrics and starred in the Broadway smash “Hamilton.”" -- "Broadway smash"? It got more notoriety from "dissing" the Vice President..
---
I'm glad I wasn't in Superior Court Judge McBride's robe last week...I would have had an even harder time at not being able to sentence all 3 of the monsters to death .. this was caused not only by a "jury fail" but a "SYSTEM fail" as well.. The young age of the monsters prevented consideration of what they really deserved.. Think about it..all the time it took to travel 20 miles..the discussions..the plotting..the venom that built up among the 3..as the trudged for hours to get there. Let's all pray..Not only for the Short family..but for the monsters...pray they find remorse...
---
After 9 days, the body of the 4 year old child that drowned while fishing with his father was recovered..praise God.. the healing can begin.. pray for the family...

From the "bias, what bias" department - Online headline/story: "Sen. Kamala Harris raises eyebrows on 'Ellen' with Trump joke * (After a light-hearted question about 'tattoos") She was then asked, “If you had to be stuck in an elevator with either President Trump, (Vice President) Mike Pence or (Attorney General) Jeff Sessions, who would it be?” * “Does one of us have to come out alive?” Harris asked, prompting cheers from the audience. Harris laughed hysterically at the joke and took a second to compose herself. * The San Francisco Chronicle’s report pointed out that “Even DeGeneres applauded the senator's wit.” -- Good grief.. only in Liberalville can an alternative life-styler ask a minority politician a "funny" question about political violence to a white person and mainscream media laugh along..
What would have happened if the situation was reversed?
---
From the "I told you so" department - In my blog last week, I mentioned the "GoFundMe" account set up for Andrew McCabe and stated that McCabe should have to report the funds as "ordinary income", and the donors report their :donations" as gifts (and pay the gift taxes as required). Well here's a follow-up headline/story: "Swamp: Guess Who Set Up Andrew McCabe's Legal Fund? * it turns out, McCabe's pay day wasn't a result of a grassroots effort to defend him against false attacks. The GoFundMe page was set up by a Washington, D.C. lobbying firm connected to President Barack Obama. * Melissa Schwartz is a crisis and communications consultant who currently works for The Bromwich Group.
* She’s also McCabe’s present spokesperson. * The Bromwich Group is a K Street consulting and PR firm headed by Michael R. Bromwich. * Immediately prior to founding the firm, Bromwich served as the first director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management under President Barack Obama." -- This literally.. STINKS.. and donors revenue sources need to be vetted and audited.
---
From the "if you can make it in New York City, you can make it anywhere" department -
Online story: "A Georgia sheriff's "welcome" sign warns visitors that "if you kill someone, we might kill you back." * Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley, who has displayed unusual signs before, placed the message Tuesday near the department office, according to Patch. * "Our citizens have concealed weapons," the sign read. "If you kill someone, we might kill you back. We have ONE jail and 356 cemeteries. Enjoy your stay!" * Jolly told local media outlets that the sign, which he said he paid for, was meant to be "tongue-in-cheek."" -- "meant to be 'tongue-in-cheek'"? Nah... it's meant to get him re-elected as long as he wants to be sheriff.. Vote for Mike Jolley!

The Chinese government has just ordered Bibles and other books " without publication numbers" (whatever that means) pulled from store shelves. The clamp down on the books comes as the Vatican and Beijing negotiate to appoint bishops in China. China’s officially atheist government doesn't like organized movements it can't control, including religious ones.... Hmmm... no wonder China is having difficulties with Trump.. China is not use to having to deal with an ORGANIZED and PURPOSE focused American President.
---
From the "only in California" department - Remember the Menendez brothers.. Kyle and Erik? You know the brothers in California that were suddenly "orphaned" back in 1989... well, the California Penal System just reunited them after being separated for over 20 years. Good grief.. they cold-bloodily shot...and shot...and shot... and shot.. their parents... with shotguns in order to get "their inheritance" while they were young enough to spend it... You know the only "reunion" the Menendez brothers deserved is in the grave yard.
---
From the "all the characteristics of "fake news" department - Online story: "President Donald Trump's lawyers are reportedly getting him ready for a possible sit-down with special counsel Robert Mueller as part of the ongoing Russia investigation, CNN reported on Friday. * According to CNN's sources, the meetings between Trump and his legal team are "short and informal," and consist of possible subjects that Mueller and his investigative team may want to discuss." -- "according to sources"? IN other words.. either there's a "leak" or CNN is just throwing "balloons" into the air to see which ones may fly.
---
Tomorrow evening.. beginning at 6:00 at the Double Tree hotel on Sidney Simons, the Muscogee County Republican Party is holding an informal session with all the candidates for Columbus' Mayoral Race being there... and accessible. You can also make dinner reservations for 7:00 @ $15.00 a head - http://rsvp.muscogeegop.org. Otherwise .. just show up if you want to meet these folks..

From the "confirmation of my claims that ANY of the J R Allen on/off ramps can be nominated for EITHER the BEST .. or WORST.. ramp' department - L-E Headline/Story: " Diamond Interchange coming to Buena Vista Road to ease traffic bottleneck at I-185 * After the Buena Vista Road project is completed, Jones said a similar design will improve the Bradley Park Drive ramp at J.R. Allen Parkway. A Smiths Station High School senior was killed in 2011 after losing control of her SUV while driving on J.R. Allen Parkway." -- To boot, the Buena Vista Road Project is pegged at $47+ MILLION . no telling HOW MUCH one at Bradley Park will cost just for the rights-of-way. .. and combined with the "roundabout" at Bradley Park and River Road, all we need is a "loop-the-loop" connecting them, and we'll have an entertainment site to rival "Great Wolf" for tourism..
Hmmm... one thing I note is that we probably need to go take driving lessons in England to learn how to drive on the other side of the roads.
---
Did something Friday night that I haven't done in 2 years...ordered a Papa John's Pizza...and it was good. Papa John's ended it's status as the Official Pizza of the NFL after fan boycotts of NFL sponsors cut into the business.

Looks like Arby's will be the next corporation apologizing for clever advertising...Arby's is running and ad featuring gyros.. after mispronouncing "gyro" (gear-o, jy-ro), the announcer just calls them "Mediterranean Tacos". Heh heh heh...
---
My granddaughter had strep .. the pharmacy filled the prescription for Celfindor and handed it over and it was completely coveted by her insurance..but the pharmacy notes reveal the cost..and I'm sure it will be submitted for reimbursement...was $393.00 for a 100 'ML bottle of an antibiotic... I ran the medicine through the GOODrx app on my phone, and the same medicine at the same pharmacy was available for $37.93 with the discount. That's less than 10% of the cost that will be submitted for insurance.. This crap is why our insurance is so...no, TOO..high.

When I was in Elementary school, recess was my favorite time.. Now that I'm in the "school" of life, my favorite time is when Congress is in recess.
---
From the "only in California" department - Remember the Menendez brothers.. Kyle and Erik? You know the brothers in California that were suddenly "orphaned" back in 1989... well, the California Penal System just reunited them after being separated for over 20 years. Good grief.. they cold-bloodily shot... and shot... and shot.. and shot their parents with shotguns in order to get "their inheritance" while they were young enough to spend it... You know the only "reunion" the Menendez brothers deserved is in the grave yard.
---
Here's another thing to attache to Obama's "legacy"... passing gas... Yep.. Obama drew a line in the sand challenging ASSwad, but we know all about building a foundation on anything but solid rock...too bad mainscream media didn't hold Obama's "feat to the fire" when the world news was about ASSwad's "Pootin" more than it was about Putin.
---
Saw a "previously unpublished picture" of Slick Willie as President puffing on (versus dipping one) a Cuban Cigar.. Hmmm.. you know, unless that Cuban cigar had a pre-1962 date on it, it was illegal.. but then again.. all the Clintons have felt they were/are "above the law" the rest of us must adhere to.
---
Online headline: "Did the Kennedy family try to put the kibosh on the new film ‘Chappaquiddick?’" -- DOH! Of course they did.. just as they blocked the investigation in 1969..

Online headline/story: "Horse trailer carrying at least 18 illegal immigrants crashes in Southern California * A witness told the California Highway Patrol that the two-axle trailer being hauled by a pickup truck began to fishtail and eventually tipped onto its right side along northbound Interstate 8." -- Question: How does a pick-up truck towing a horse trailer with illegal aliens get on a US Interstate Highway? ... Answer: there was no "WALL" where he crossed the border..... build "THE WALL"!
---
From the "myth" department -- Online story: "London police have shot a man dead after the man reportedly claimed he had a weapon. * Police said the man was shot and killed early Monday morning in Romford in east London." -- Hmmm... a London police officer CARRYING a weapon for self defense... hmmm.. there goes the last argument that libs have...
---
For years I've contended the best name for the water sculpture on Bropadway across from the River Center should be "Viagra Falls".. the more bills we get from the CWW for Sewage and Garbage fees, I think the Columbus Water Works' original name for the project was the "Up Yours".
---
The Columbus mayoral candidates will all be on 'view" Tuesday evening at the Double Tree.. I hope the Republicans will hold a similar event with the Council Post 10 candidates.. I hope Amy Bryant will be asked that since she is the Executive VP of the Chamber's "Community Development and Growth" department, how does she think she can help as a Coucilor what she hasn't done for Columbus at the Chamber? Oh, and ask her "What's so amazing"?
---
The L-E "Two Cents Worth" posted this comment on developer Bud Allen's comments about Columbus no growing like the rest of the State: "“Remove tax freeze so those of us retiring here doesn’t pay triple/monthly on taxes then those who are from here or from that time. People moving on to city’s with less taxes.” — Karen Schleter" -- Don't know of Schleter but she's just wrong! It's the Tax Freeze" that keeps homeowners SAFE from "tax and waste" politicians like our current mayor..A recent story about the current real estate condition said Columbus is now in a "seller's market" which means there are more buyers than sellers... this means BOTH sellers and buyers are happy to know their property taxes will remain affordable as the years ahead go by.

Question: Propaganda... what's the difference in news submitted about Trump from Trump officials and DIMocrat "news" made up by DIMocrats officials?

Friday, April 6, 2018

From the "mainscream media must feel the same leg-tingle Chris Matthews felt" department - Online story: "U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he did not know about a $130,000 payment made by his lawyer to adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about a sexual encounter she says she had with Trump. * In his first public remarks about Daniels' allegations, Trump said aboard Air Force One that he did not know where his attorney, Michael Cohen, got the money to pay Daniels. Cohen has said he paid Daniels out of his own pocket. * “No, I don’t know,” Trump told reporters when asked if he knew where the money came from." -- You know... this sounds like mainscream media is putting the DIMocrat's Jackass ahead of the cart.. and if I were Michael Cohen, I'd be suing for libel/slander of my client because I'd be the one mainscream media would have to prove was lying before they could say my client was.

---
Online story: " President Donald Trump said on Thursday he had instructed U.S. trade officials to consider $100 billion in additional tariffs on China, fueling an already heated trade dispute between the world's two biggest economies." -- Thank God that Trump won! If Hellary or any of the RINOs had won, they all would have rolled over and played dead on China;s doorsteps. in fact, all of them would probably want to be sending a gift of our tax dollars along with an apology for living.

---
From the "poll truth and nothing but the poll truth - Online headline/story: "Poll: Support for Trump’s immigration stance slips among supporters * While people who voted for President Donald Trump are still largely supportive of his immigration policies, their approval has eroded somewhat since he took office, according to Reuters/Ipsos polling. * While about nine in 10 Trump voters still approve of the president's immigration policies, they are somewhat less enthusiastic about his performance now on one of the key issues he campaigned on." -- You know.. here are the liars figuring again...No Trump supporter "blames" Trump... he has exposed the DIMocrats as the "potholes" (***hole is OK, isn't it, if it doesn't begin with a "T") on the road to Make America Great Again.. but we KNOW Trump will get things done here in the near future..

---
From the "shades of Tin Cup" department - Online headline: "Sergio Garcia hit five straight balls in the water at the Masters" -- Pain is making a 13 on the 15th hole at Augusta..especially for the defending champion. ..unlike his "Tin Cup" counterpart.. he didn't hole out his approach for another GREAT 12.

---
Yesterday, I was going to surprise my granddaughter with a "treat" when I picked her up from school, so I stopped at the Circle K station on Veterans. Piked out chips and a drink and stood in line behind other customers. The young girl in front of me was waving a $20 as she moved up to the counter..I assumed she was buying gas, but then she started picking out lottery tickets..1 at a time.. and no way was she 18 or older. She'd pick one, and the clerk tore it off...then she'd pick another one, and the clerk would tear it off. On the 4th one, I looked at the other 3 red-shirted Circle K attendants who were just standing there watching.. I put my merchandise on the counter..and walked out..I won't go back.

---
You know..GA having 11 of the 100 economically growing counties in the country is something to be excited about...but Muscogee County is not one one of them...I hope the L-E and other Council candidates get Amy Bryan to explain why we are not included in the excitement..From her job title at the Chamber of Commerce, Executive VP - Community Development and growth, is her field and we deserve to know why she feels she can help as a Councilor when she hasn't as the main focus of her job.... which we taxpayers are already funding...

Related L-E headline/story: "Developer wraps up Columbus project, but won’t build again here anytime soon. This is why. * Longtime Columbus real-estate developer Bud Allen is putting the finishing touches on Summit Pointe, his high-end rental property off Williams Road on the city’s north side, and is now looking for future projects. * But the Columbus area doesn’t appear to be on Allen’s radar for the foreseeable future. Instead, he has targeted the faster-growing cities of Alpharetta, Ga., Charleston, S.C., Chattanooga, Tenn., and Nashville, Tenn. * “I don’t have any other plans in Columbus right now,” the developer said. “I’m a little disappointed in the job creation here. Our commercial business is basically the same as it has been the last 10 years. We just aren’t seeing the population growth and job growth here that we are in other areas.”" -- Confirmation of the failure of Mayor Tom-LYING-son's "Reign of Error-After-Error"... and another reason Amy Bryan should not be considered for a Council Seat... nor.. for that matter.. extension of her job - Executive VP - Community Development and growth - at the Chamber...

You know.. every sitting/incumbent Councilor needs to be asked why they didn't make a POSITIVE difference in our economy, and why should Columbus put them back in office.

From the "the NFL should even be MORE embarrassed" department -- Pitcher James Paxton of the Seattle Mariners should become the "poster MAN" for all professional sports! During the National Anthem, a Bald Eagle brought in as a symbol of America, landed on the shoulder of Paxton as he stood reverently on the field... Seattle should give him a lifetime contract, and the NFL should have to play the video on the Jumbotron at every NFL game during the National Anthem.

While she's been an asset on the MCSB, I'm wondering why the L-E has not eviscerated her for having her child at St Anne - Pacelli School. I remember when educator Sally Lasseter was eviscerated unmercifully for serving on the MCSB while her child attended Brookstone. Are there any real differences the L-E would like to address?

It's disgusting that Mexico is issuing "transit visas" to Central Americans to "caravan" through to the US? Do any of them have passports? Now, we cringe at the thought of Bull Fights still going on , but now it seems the Mexican government is making "matador cape passes" at illegals crossing its border en route to the US.

I definitely understand why there are rules that prohibit the National Guard taking action against Americans on American soil..we have governors like CA's Brown who are certifiably nuts.,. but I don't understand the National Guard being restricted from actions when illegal aliens actually cross out border.. especially along our southern border because it seems the Mexican government is basically colluding with Central American aliens in waving them through to infiltrate our country.

Online headline/story: "Rep. Buzz Brockway wants to form commission to study voting systems if elected secretary of state" -- Hmmm... and maybe appoint the cast of "Toy Story" to the commission, and place locked "Toy Boxes" at the precincts to place ballots...
Keep the dignity of the office of Secretary Of State.. Vote for Columbus' own Josh McKoon.

Online story: "An enormous crack spanning for miles opened up in the earth outside Nairobi, Kenya. * The 50-feet-deep crevice that sliced through a major highway measures up to 50 feet deep and 65 feet across at its widest point. * Not only has it divided the land, but the crack is dividing scientists, who can’t quite seem to come to one conclusion as to how the natural phenomenon occurred." -- Hmmm... guess an appropriate "name" for it would be "C-r-r-a-c-k Obama" in honor of his splitting America in half.

---
The fact that Tiger Woods CHOSE an iron to tee-off on the 1st hole at Augusta just proves the USGA needs to overhaul the equipment rules of both clubs and balls.. Pros just pulling out irons on the tee box of nearly 450 yard holes is pretty much demoralizing to 90+ percent of golfers...

---
We're reading about a string of military aircraft crashes that's disturbing... it shows how bad our military was treated under the Obama Administration.. but it also shows the lack of priority for maintenance liberals have. They'd rather spend money on new projects than maintaining what we have.. Columbus, GA residents have to look no further than Spencer and Carver High Schools or the Government Center.

L-E headline: "Board OKs Baker as candidate in election" -- Well... that's that... but I really cannot see Zeph Baker being the best choice for a full-time job as Mayor of Columbus. I supported Zeph in his earlier attempt, and am happy that he's found new love, but he's grounded, as he should be, in his family... in a half-million dollar plus home .. in Newnan,GA. I still do not know why his tax database has his correspondence address list designated to be sent to him at another home/address in Columbus that he doesn't own...

L-E headline/story: "Mentally challenged Country’s employee robbed, beaten * A mentally challenged man who lost his mother to gun violence in January was robbed and beaten Wednesday morning in front of his place of employment. * Lamar Johnson, a busboy at the Country’s Barbecue on Broadway, was walking to work at about 3:50 a.m. when the incident occurred." -- To the (_@_) who recently expressed disdain that police officers would stop and detain him walking about the streets of Columbus at 3:00 AM.. this is why.. Sadly, the police had not seen these 2 (_@_)s in the vicinity of Country's parking lot..

From the "what did I tell you" department - L-E headline: "Mueller’s investigators tracking down Trump business partners" -- Here he goes.. Mueller just stated he was not looking at Trump for "criminal issues"... I think Mueller LIES! and I think Sessions should bring him up on "Lying to The American People" charges.

---
From the "good grief" department - L-E story: "Hawaii became the latest state to legalize medically assisted suicide Thursday as the governor signed a measure into law allowing doctors to fulfill requests from terminally ill patients to prescribe life-ending medication." -- Good grief.. Hawaii's legislators and governor just enabled Dr's to violate their Hippocratic Oath of " I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm", but the legislators and governors are also hypocrites... they have BANNED the death penalty for even the most heinous of criminals!

I do have another question to ask..why is it OK to have Drs administer life ending solutions to people, but such solutions/methods appear to banned from being given in executions of criminals?

L-E headline: "Why China is confident it can win the trade war" -- Confident? maybe OVERCONFIDENT.. because China has had no practice at dealing with a real trade negotiator...

L-E "headLIE": "Where Trump and Obama have common ground: Syria" -- The correct headline should read, "Where Trump and ASSwad have common ground: Syria" -- Yeah both have no problem crossing "the line in the sand" Obama drew...

As we remembered Martin Luther King, Jr yesterday, someone asked how I left Al Sharlatan out of the discussion... easily.... Al Sharlatan was not a part of Dr King's "dream" team... and that continues today...

---
Well... the San Bruno, CA Police ... and Sherry Hamby, "noted" research professor of psychology at the University of the South, must have egg on their faces today for dismissing Iranian born terrorist Nasim Najafi Aghdam's attack as being instigated by a "domestic dispute".. And what we haven't heard is whether the Iranian-born "suicide missionist" had ever become an American citizen.

---
Online headline: "New York police shoot black man holding pipe after reports he had firearm" -- Good grief.. "Pipe"? Could have been a "gun barrel" or a "pipe bomb", but it does not matter when a police office is faced with a situation of an unknown object being waved/pointed at them or citizens on the street... it's a weapon.. and the person holding it has the choice to cooperate and rid him/herself of the object when police order it dropped.

How about that Master's Par-3 Tournament! 68 year old Tom Watson won, and 78 year old Jack Nicklaus not only shot a 4-under score, and came in 4th, but got to witness his 15 year-old grandson (and caddy) make a hole-in-one!

From the "suspicions confirmed" department - Online headline/story: "Renowned Harvard Psychologist Says ADHD is Largely a FRAUD * (Dr Jerome) Kagan's analysis of ADHD concludes that it is more of an invented condition rather than a serious illness. Moreover, he thinks that the pharmaceutical industries and psychiatrists have invented the disorder because of money-making reasons." -- Yeah.. those "DRUG FREE ZONE" signs at our schools are really a joke...

Online headline: "Hillary Clinton claims 'Fox News is always trying to impeach me'" -- Hmmm... I think Hellary has done a more than adequate job of "impeaching herself"... Fox just reports it.. "fair and balanced". By the way, Hellary.. you have to be someone IN government to get "impeached".. this is another reason you should actually read our Constitution.

---
From the "warped perspective" department - Online headline: "Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards: Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump offered a 'bribe' to stop abortions" -- Good grief.. a plea for compassion with a bonus of more money to advocate for alternative options for abortions is not a bribe.. it's an opportunity to show humanity and humaneness.. Cecile Richards failed on both accounts..

L-E headline/story: "Man says someone threw a blanket over his car windshield — then shot him on Milgen Road * An early Tuesday shooting on Milgen Road in north Columbus drew the interest of police, who later closed the case after the victim decided not to prosecute. * A man told police he was driving between 30 and 40 mph in the 5700 block of Milgen Road around 3 a.m. when someone threw a blanket over this front windshield. The man got out of the car and told police he was shot in the left arm. * The man signed a waiver, saying he did not want to prosecute, Hawk said. * Police consider the case closed, Hawk said." -- Whoa! "The man signed a waiver, saying he did not want to prosecute"? "Police consider the case closed"? -- wait a minute.. the criminal discharged a firearm in the City limits.. it's a CRIME against every citizen in Columbus.. I'll sign a paper top prosecute.. the "shot victim" is not the ONLY victim in this crime.. some felon is rambling the streets with a gun, and the CPD feels that's alright.. Not in my book!

Hmmm..looking back at the deadly shootings at Stoneman High School, do you think the 17 people who were shot but didn't die feel slighted at not being sympathized over for their pain and sufferings?

What is the government's concern over political candidates/parties using Facebook and/or other social media sites to contact users about an election? I get such from both parties' candidates and PACs, and have for YEARS... and have always felt it was up to me to discern the information as for veracity. It's the way it should be.

---
It's ironic.. we are having more gun crimes on the streets of Columbus, and now we have two new businesses that offer "target practice" with paint/electronic guns so young criminals return to their cars and pick up their real guns and head out for a evening's "fun".

From the "it's official" department - L-E headline: "Mexico giving caravan migrants transit visas" -- Build that "WALL".. and shut down NAFTA until Mexico pays the bill... and add an annual "maintenance clause" to "the deal".

Wednesday, April 4, 2018

April 4th... an ordinary day for the most part, but not so in 1968... Martin Luther King, Jr was assassinated in Memphis, TN. We remember him today.. Unfortunately, we also remember the cowardly Illinois-born stalker who shot him...I'm not going to publish his name as he doesn't deserve to be remembered WITH Dr King...unfortunately, too, we do remember... vividly.
You know.. of all the soldiers... all the disciples.. of Dr King.. Jesse Jackson is the most disappointing one of all.. I do not look at him and see Dr King's message... I see only a man looking out for his own gain. John Lewis is a pretty close 2nd..

From the "tiptoeing through the two-lips" department - Online headline/story: "YouTube shooting: Female suspect dead, three wounded at firm's HQ in San Bruno, California * A woman opened fire at YouTube's California headquarters Tuesday afternoon before turning the gun on herself, authorities said. Three other people were shot, one of whom was in critical condition. * Four senior law enforcement officials identified the woman as Nasim Najafi Aghdam, 39, whose last known address is in the San Diego area. They said she used a 9mm handgun. * Law enforcement officials said the woman approached an outdoor patio and dining area near lunchtime and opened fire in what appeared to be a domestic dispute not related to terrorism * the shooter was believed to have killed herself." -- Hmmm... "Nasim Najafi Aghdam"? "believed to have killed herself"? "not related to terrorism"? ... Good grief... a female Muslim suicide killer... and police authorities immediately deny it wasn't "terrorism".. tell that to the victims.
---
In a subsequent story to the terrorism at YouTube's HQ: "American mass shootings tend to follow a grim pattern: A man opens fire on a school or workplace, claiming lives and sowing chaos. * It's definitely very rare to see a female shooter," said Sherry Hamby, research professor of psychology at the University of the South. "The more extreme the violence, the more likely the perpetrator is to be male." * Hamby said research has pointed to a variety of reasons men are more likely to be violent, including a sense of entitlement. When women are violent, there tends to be a connection to a domestic dispute, Hamby said." -- "when women are violent, there tends to be a connection to a domestic dispute"? Talk about stereotyping women... and men!

Those "clear" backpacks being distributed to Parkland, FL students... how does that keep sickos from carrying a weapon in a non-suspicious "lunch sack"?

Online headline: "Ratings for the Villanova-Michigan championship game were the lowest ever" -- Good grief... American basketball fans had been treated to a fantastic Women's Final 4 weekend where the Number 1 seeds in each bracket met in the semi-finals which bot went to overtime, then the final game ended on a walk-off 3-point shot..the Men's Final 4 match-ups were, at best, a disappointment. There's no mystery here.

It's Masters Week! If the azaleas in my yard are any indicator, we're in for a wonderful week in Augusta!

Mueller needs to have his reins yanked taut on pressing charges for "lying" until Comey produces the notes and recordings taken during Hellary's "interviews". His plea that none were taken reeks of deceit itself, and Mueller better yet, Sessions, needs to strap Coney into a lie detector.

I heard American lawyers have gone to Mexico to "coach" the caravan of illegal aliens snaking through Mexico on what to say to have a better chance on gaining entry into the US. This has to be treasonous activity..perhaps the US Visas and citizenship of the lawyers should be suspended/revoked ...at least until 'the WALL' is finished.
Most ..if not all, of the caravan comes from Central America.. maybe all from Honduras..how do they get into Mexico without challenge... and perhaps - most likely - without passports, and be allowed to march from Mexico's southern border to its northern border without being arrested.. we know how stringent Mexico is on "visitors" entering from the US.
---
From the "it's time to disband the US 9th District Court system" department - Online story: "Deep in a seemingly obscure Supreme Court case on Monday, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg sounded an alarm for liberals: The New Deal may be under attack. * The conservative majority is undermining worker protections from the 1930s, Ginsburg wrote, "without even acknowledging that it unsettles more than half a century of our precedent. * "By stretching the [overtime] exemption ... ," wrote Ginsburg, the 85-year-old leader of the liberal wing, the majority strips away "protection for ... vulnerable workers." * The question in the appeal by a Mercedes-Benz dealership in California was whether service advisers who consult with customers about their servicing needs fell under that exemption. The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that service advisers qualify for overtime pay * Reversing that decision Monday, Justice Clarence Thomas declared for the majority that service advisers, based on ordinary meanings, are "salesmen ... primarily engaged in ... servicing automobiles." -- You know.. whether actually it is or not.. the US 9th District rulings are the most overturned by the US Supreme Court.. and it follows a consistent pattern... lawyers SHOP for way to get their cases reviewed by the 9th.. and this alone shows that lawyers feel that the 9th District Judges are more likely to rule on their own feelings versus interpretation of the Constitution..

Lists... we have another "list".. this one published by the "World Bank" it's one of an estimate by the World Bank as to the rankings of the "most unequal countries. Surprisingly, the US is not "Number 1" in this "list", in fact 54 other countries rank the same or higher than the US... surprisingly, in this PC world, is that Mexico/Guatemala/Honduras are ranked much worse than the US... sorta upsets the "meanness rating" liberals label our country, and this definitely undermines the "sanctuary city" argument of California cities. Even more disturbing is that countries like Iran, Russia, Iraq, and Pakistan are rated "BETTER" than the US.. For some unexplained reason, Syria and Afghanistan didn't make the list.

Online headline/story: "Jill McCabe: The president attacked my reputation. It’s time to set the record straight. * I am an emergency room pediatrician and an accidental politician — someone who never thought much about politics until I was recruited to run for state office after making a statement about the importance of expanding Medicaid. That decision — plus some twisted reporting and presidential tweets — ended up costing my husband, Andrew, his job and our family a significant portion of his pension my husband had worked hard for over 21 years of federal service. For the past year and a half of this nightmare, I have not been free to speak out about what happened. Now that Andrew has been fired, I am" -- "an accidental politician"? Yeah.. put up for and supported by the Hellary cabal to try to buy a vote in the Virginia State Senate with directed donations of about $675,000.00 from a PAC headed by Clinton-minion, former Gov Terry McAuliffe who also was Slick Willie's co-chair in his 1996 re-election effort.
---
From the "reeks of contrived conspiratorial hypocrisy" department - Online story: "A Chevrolet dealership in Chantilly, Virginia has reportedly canceled a planned event hosting EPA Chief Scott Pruitt tomorrow in a claimed effort to avoid the Chevy brand being associated with an expected announcement about the government rolling back Obama-era emissions standards and California’s right to set its own pollution rules, according to the New York Times." -- "Chevy's brand being associated... with the government rolling back Obama-era emissions standards"? Hey, Chevy is a brand of GOVERNMENT MOTORS, and now Trump is "the people's voice"...Maybe Trump should simply revoke the contract the Virginia dealer made under Obama..
---
L-E story: "The Andrews Road nightclub where a Columbus man was killed and two others wounded in an early Easter morning shooting was operating without a city business or alcohol license, city officials confirmed." -- Two things jump to the top of my questions list: 1 - does not the CPD and CFD check into night clubs on a periodic basis and see if licenses are posted.. and up-to-date, and 2 - who sold/delivered the liquor and beer to that operation?
---
From the "talk about a lose-lose situation for China" department - L-E headline: "China targets California wine in trade fight" -- Hmmm... let's see with tariffs on Chinese steel, America wins as we rebuild our ability to rebuild our infrastructure without foreign dependence... China , on the other hand, has just raised the costs of what Chinese wine lovers pay for a "want".

---
L-E story: "Seventeen states and the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit Tuesday to block the Trump administration from adding a last-minute citizenship question to the 2020 decennial Census." -- Interesting.. a story like this and the 17 states were not mentioned.. I do figure I can name most of them, and probably not one voted for Trump.. Now... as I see it, the 17 states should not be allowed to vote in National Elections until they can assure the other 33 states that their voters are ALL citizens, and all 17 states' Congressional Representatives should be banned from voting or being counted in attendance for voting purposes until their elections can be verified as having been elected by verifiable American citizens qualified to vote.

From the "DIMocrats have dug their hole too deep, but will keep digging" department - Online headline/story: "New poll shows Trump’s approval at 50 percent, putting him ahead of Obama * A recent poll from conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports shows President Trump’s approval rating has climbed to 50 percent, putting him ahead of where Barack Obama was at the same point in his presidency. * Forty-nine percent expressed disapproval, with 39 percent indicating they felt strongly about that response. " -- Hmmm..."a recent poll from CONSERVATIVE-LEANING Rasmussen Reports"? When was the last time you were presented the results from a "LIBERAL/PROGRESSIVE-LEANING" polling organization? And with only 39% of poll respondents expressing "strong disapproval", I'd say the DIMocrats will be sweating the "bullets" in November that they are trying to confiscate now..

---
Online story: "Connecticut Democrat Elizabeth Esty announced on Monday that she will not seek re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in November, just hours after she asked the Ethics Committee to expedite its review of her August 2016 dismissal of a staffer." -- Have you noticed the amount of Congresspersons "retiring/resigning" this year... from both parties... We need a law a Trump Executive Order confiscating all funds in incumbents "campaign chests" collected before 2018, and all donations collected in 2018 be returned to the donors. As it is, retiring/resigning politicians know another campaign will be expensive (and probably not successful) and that donations dry-up when candidates flounder, so they get out while they still have accumulated donations. AS it is, theses donations have to be declared "ordinary income" and be taxed, but it's a rule Congresspersons passed for themselves, and we never see whether those funds were actually reported to IRS...

---
From the "awaiting the first court challenge" department - Online headline: "Parkland students return from spring break to clear backpacks and TSA-style checkpoints" -- Heh heh heh... so students who've basked.. and been manipulated.. in their 1st Amendment Rights of "free speech" come back to finding their right to "free speech" has been muffled... can't wait for a class-action suit by the girls complaining their feminine hygiene products are now on full view in their new backpacks..

---
There's a poll of historians rating the popularity of all the presidents based on what they accomplished... the top 25 are listed.. I don't know how Gerald Ford was ranked in the Top 25, because most people don't even remember that he WAS a president..
Of note is that Clinton (15) and Obama (12) made the list.. what's interesting is that in their world of social media and mainscream media bias/fawning is that neither made the Top 10.. and that George H.W. Bush made it while "W" did not.. Lincoln and Washington were "1-2" though I'm not sure if in the correct order.. Sadly, Richard Nixon was not.. he ended the Vietnam debacle of Kennedy/Johnson (both made the list), and opened relationship with China

From the "it depends on the shade of "rose" your lenses are tinted" department - Online headline/story: "Gun violence in Chicago drops for 13 straight months * According to new statistics released by Chicago police, there has been a 22 percent reduction in murders and a 25 percent reduction in shootings in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017." -- Hmmm...of course it's not being reported of the soaring deaths of 2016 and 2017 versus 2015.. 2016 saw shooting deaths rise 61% over 2015, and 2017 saw shooting deaths rise 39% over 2015, Therefore, a drop of 22% is still not an improvement over what existed in 2015.. I see two valid reasons for this "drop".. 1 - there were so many killed in 2016 and 2017 that there are less shooters on the streets of Shicago, and 2 - the economy under Trump has created jobs that 2017/18 Shicagoans go to rather than "hang out" on the streets with illegal guns.

---
Online headline/story: "Air Force veteran sues after being pulled from ceremony mid-speech * A retired Air Force sergeant who was forcibly removed two years ago from a military retirement ceremony as he recited a traditional passage honoring the flag filed a lawsuit Monday, claiming he was ousted for mentioning the word "God." * Senior Master Sgt. Oscar Rodriguez was invited to speak at an April 3, 2016 ceremony by an outgoing fellow master sergeant from the 749th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Video of the event showed Rodriguez being physically removed by service members at Travis Air Force Base in California as he was delivering a flag-folding speech. * "I was removed from the speech because my script mentioned God. Air force officials did not want me to utter those words," he told Fox News. "There was no direct communication between the Air Force and myself to forbid me from making this speech."" -- Hmm..While I sympathize with Senior Master Sgt. (RET) Oscar Rodriguez, his beef is not with the Air Force.. he ought to be suing Obama for giving illegal orders to his military under threat of dismissal.

L-E story: "Peachtree Mall is ready to fill another spot in its lineup, with an escape room now under construction in the former Picadilly Cafeteria space around the corner from Dillard’s. * The themed rooms include Superhero’s Adventure, Hollywood Premiere, Escape From Alcatraz, Black Ops, Special Agent, Treasure Island, Houdinis Magic Cell, Pharoah’s Tomb, Sherlocks Library and Zombie Apocalypse." -- Good grief.. after all the liberal banter the L-E has spewed about the rise in violence, the L-E has celebrated not only the upcoming attraction for kids to "pretend" kill each other, but also the recent opening of a new Paintball attraction where kids can "pretend" kill each other. The L-E should examine it's "soul" as closely as it examines it's revenue sources.

Do my eyes deceive me, or am I seeing the fewest pages in the Foreclosure Section of the L-E at it's lowest in a decade-plus? Guess Trump's "Make America Great Again" is working for families..

---
From the "double dose of good news" department - L-E headline: "MCSD dropped from $25 million lawsuit in Montravious Thomas case" -- Good news for the taxpayers... the other good news is for Montravious Thomas and his family... the case progresses with the contractor and appropriate MCSD employees still on "the hook".

---
As we read about MORE ROUNDABOUTS in our future, we should focus on this. In 2 months we have local elections. One issue all of the sitting Councilors should be on top of is the roundabout purportedly planned at River Road/Bradley Park/ et al. I say "purported" because it's been bandied around since 2012, money has been spent on re-locating utilities, figures have been discussed (moved from $1.5 million of State tax dollars in 2014 to $1.5 million in State tax dollars plus $1.2 million local tax dollars in 2016), yet when Council has been asked to provide a current figure, only one ex-Councilor bothered to answer, and the now mayoral candidate said he had no idea because the bid hadn't been "let out" (and of course he hasn't gotten back with me since early February). You know, I really don't think it's right for tax dollars to be spent when the public doesn't know how much an unconfirmed project will cost... or be finished.

Every Council and State Legislative incumbent should be quizzed about what they know.. otherwise, we will not hear until AFTER the elections this May

I am worn out from seeing the LifeAlert commercial where the old women falls while in the shower. I'm just glad I'm not an EMT.

Online headline/story: "Fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe stops taking online donations for legal defense fund after collecting more than $500G * A GoFundMe account was created for McCabe last week in an effort to gather donations for his legal defense fund after being fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions last month, just days before his planned retirement." -- You know... these donations are not truly "gifts"... they are requested.. and who knows if donors may feel coerced to do so.. I think the IRS should step in and declare this taxable income for McCabe, and all donors' names be published, and if they gave more than allowed, be audited on their tax returns as well.

From the "guess what" department - Online story: "Eleven of the nation’s 100 fastest-growing counties are in Georgia, the latest Census estimate shows. Seven of them are in Atlanta’s distant suburbs or the mountains, and two are close to Athens – which the AARP has cited as one of the best retirement cities for three consecutive years." -- Hmmm... and guess what... North Georgia Mountains, Metro Atlanta, Athens, Augusta and Savannah are included, but Columbus is not.. this tells you how ineffectual Mayor Tom-LYING-son and the current Council have been in building our economy.. we've lost more businesses than we've gained.. and what will be the effect if Synovus (formerly known as "Columbus Bank & Trust), TSYS, and AFLAC decide Atlanta is the "place for them" As bad as this looks on the local leadership, you cannot ignore than none of the fast growing areas are in Congressman Bishop's District... at all..

Oh.. and I think Chamber Exec/Mayoral Council Post 10 candidate Amy Bryan should be the spokesperson explaining this.. she's funded with many of our tax dollars.

Mainscream media must really look forward to running stories on April 1st... they can say whatever they want.. as usual.. but can avoid having to apologize later by declaring it was an "April Fools" prank.
---
From the "they took the bait" department - Online headline/story: "China imposes tariffs in response to US duties on steel, aluminum * China has slapped extra tariffs of up to 25 percent on 128 U.S. products including frozen pork, as well as on wine and certain fruits and nuts, in response to U.S. duties on imports of aluminum and steel, China's finance ministry said." -- Trump is "the Deal Maker". America's infrastructure is now protected, while China just raised prices for on itself on feeding "wants".
---
NBC tried to present itself as "quasi-Christian" last night.. it was presenting its version of "Jesus Christ, Superstar".. using a cast of Hollywood 'No-Trumpers"...not in my home... except weekend for GOLF when CBS doesn't carry it, we don't watch NBC other than "This Is Us"..
---
Online headline: "NBC's Chuck Todd slammed on Twitter for Good Friday comments" -- You know, I've never seen Chuck Todd on anything other than some online report of his aberrations.. don't guess I ever will..
---
From the "is he really that dumb" department - Online headline: "Dismissed VA head Shulkin says he did not resign" -- Then Shulkin better "resign himself" that he was FIRED for "JUST Cause". Can you believe a person could be so stupid that he will tell the world that he was fired.. and at the same time SHOW the world WHY he was fired?
---
Online headline/story: "Republican Senator Lindsey Graham warns against Syria troop withdrawal * "It’d be the single worst decision the president could make," Republican Senator Lindsey Graham: -- Oooops... and I think the "worst mistake" Trump can make is to endorse the like of Graham for re-election....
---
Online headline/story: "Video shows protester hit by Sacramento sheriff's vehicle at Stephon Clark rally * The newspaper said the protester was taken to a hospital by the fire department and later released with bruises. * The sheriff's office said in a statement early on Sunday that protesters were yelling and kicking the patrol car. "The collision occurred while the patrol vehicle was traveling at slow speeds," it said." -- I tell you what..if a mob surrounded my vehicle, I would proceed slowly to give them more time to consider how stupid they are being, but at the first kick or attempt to board or enter, I'd accelerate to the speed limit and not worry about what a jury would do...
---
Online headline: "Garry Shandling's Twitter account re-activated by friends" -- hmmm... they do know Gary Shandling died over 2 years ago... I'll bet they saw where he voted for Hellary and assumed his death story was wrong.
---
From the "at least Newsweek is more open about it's bias" department - Online headline/story: "White House receives criticism over lack of diversity in intern program * as expected you can count on one hand the number of students of color in the program, reports Newsweek. * you literally have to quint in order to figure out who the students of color are. * Out of the 91 participants, the White House failed to enlist an equitable number of students of color to diversity it’s spring intern staff. * Critics made note that Obama’s intern staff had an ethically diverse population that exceeds Trump’s intern pool. -- Hmmm...."as expected you can count on one hand the number of students of color in the program, reports Newsweek" .... "you literally have to squint in order to figure out who the students of color are." -- To begin with, who can "squint" at a picture and determine the DNA of anyone anymore? Secondly, mainscream media seems to enjoy ignoring Dr. King's "dream" that everyone's worth is determined by there character rather than skin color. Thirdly, mainscream media gets as much enjoyment out of pulling "facts" out of thin air to "create" their point. The following is the Official demographics report of the Census Bureau following the last Census:
The overwhelming majority (97 percent) of the total U.S. population reported only one race in 2010. This group totaled 299.7 million. From the "liberals falsely celebrate" department - Online headline: "N.Y. passes measure prohibiting domestic abusers from owning guns" -- You know.. mainscream media will proclaim, "We won.. we won!".. yet such a law will do nothing to stop someone who already OWNS a gun legally from abusing his/her spouse/family..
---
While not a Roseanne Barr fan, I do celebrate her rights to speak freely.. I also know that more fans will show up at a Roseanne Bar public appearance than at a Hellary one.. this is why America was great in the past, and will be great again..

When will the Catholic Church replace Francis... he's more POOP than Pope.. earlier he presented his own rewrite of Jesus' prayer, and now he's reversing Jesus' teachings on Hell. Wonder what POOP Francis will "feel" when he meets Jesus and is directed to "Door Number 2".. Door Number 2 is ironic for a POOP.

Laura Ingraham was more childish at scolding a child than the child was.. but advertisers canceling on her show are ... basically.. IDIOTS.. I want companies trying to sell me products to show me they are in it for "the long haul". I want to know, that such companies can stand up for the integrity of their products, not "fold their tents" and run in the face of a bit of adversity. These advertisers "folded" under the spotlight.. bye!
The companies announcing that they are canceling their ads are: Nutrish, the pet food line created by celebrity chef Rachael Ray, travel website TripAdvisor Inc, online home furnishings seller Wayfair Inc, the world's largest packaged food company, Nestle SA, online streaming service Hulu, travel website Expedia Group Inc and online personal shopping service Stitch Fix. According to CBS News, four other companies joined the list Friday: the home office supply store Office Depot, the dieting company Jenny Craig, the Atlantis, Paradise Island resort and Johnson & Johnson which produces pharmaceuticals as well as consumer products such as Band-Aids, Neutrogena beauty products and Tylenol.

L-E headline/story: "HOUSING MARKET * Sparse house inventory fueling seller’s market * Those putting their homes on the market to sell this spring in the Columbus area will find themselves with a major advantage over buyers due to a very lean inventory of available dwellings on both sides of the Chattahoochee River. * Ultimately, that means house shoppers wishing to nail down a purchase before mortgage interest rates climb even more in the coming months will need to do their homework and be prepared to act very fast should they see something on the market that they just can’t live without." -- Well, well, well.. once again, the truth exposes Mayor Tom-LYING-son's lies about how the Tax Freeze hurts Columbus.. betcha John Pezold is glad he's not running for re-election as well. Oh... and what about Councilors running for re-election.. or the Councilor running for mayor?
---
Online headline: "Trump suggests if Hillary Clinton had won, US economy ‘would be a wreck’" -- And Trump's right.. Neither she nor "slick willie" owned/ran a real business... for that matter, they lived in public housing from 1979 until 2001. What's more scary is mainscream media doesn't remember during Hellary's campaign that she actually "roped them in".. had her minions literally holding the press corp assigned to follow her, reigning in their movement with actual ropes.
---
From the "bias, what bias?" department - To combat Trump's comments about the soaring GDP, in a stock market analysis piece, Yahoo reported last Wednesday that "the drop has “erased almost 40% of the market cap gains the S&P has enjoyed since President Donald Trump was elected to office.”" -- You know.. the fact that the markets started climbing ahead of the election results then soared when the results came in for Trump speaks volumes about the nation's economy anticipating and needing Trump. Now the yahoo's report a correction.. a needed correction, as a negative of Trump's leadership...GOOD GRIEF.. most of America has seen it's financial holdings/pensions/retirement funds soar 35-plus % before the recent profit takings and corrections, and.. as it is most Americans' holdings/retirement funds are still up 25% as it is. TRUMP 2020!

In 2012, I supported Zeph Baker in his campaign/runoff for Mayor...but I'm looking at the information the Board of Elections will consider as to his residence.. While a Homestead Exemption is not required, I'm concerned that tax correspondence for his home (Parcel ID: 066 028 022 at 1091 Bolton Court) is sent to a 1723 Laney Drive address ( parcel ID: 114 017 035).. Who is Tyler A Wadkins.. looks to me Mr Wadkins is looking after Zeph Baker's affairs at his Columbus home. I also note that Zephaniah Baker's name is involved in some sort of sales transaction at the 1723 Laney Drive address in December of 2008. We need clarity at a minimum.

From the "proof 93-year old ex-presidents do not need to be on Late Night TV programs" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Jimmy Carter rips Donald Trump: Apparently, America wants a jerk for president * Former President Jimmy Carter took a shot at President Donald Trump on Friday’s broadcast of “The Late Show.” * When host Stephen Colbert asked Carter whether America really “wants a jerk as president,” Carter replied: “Apparently, from this recent election year. I never knew it before.” -- You know.. to begin with, it's a shame Stephen Colbert would be given one-on-one access with a 93 year old, but in Cuzzin Jimmy's case, it's as much of a case of "Senior Abuse" as it is a travesty. Please note that Colbert did not touch on the facts that in 1980, America decided.. OVERWHELMINGLY.. that it didn't want "Caspar Milquetoast" for another term.. In fact other than GA, Carter won NONE of the Deep South states, and lost DIMocrat stomping grounds of Massachusetts, New York et al... EVEN California and Vermont.. America wanted someone other than a wuss representing us to the world.. Reagan won 489 Electoral votes and Cuzzin Jimmy got but 49..

From the "libs do not get it" department - Online headline/story: "Students' bad grades might be tied to class time * Students with circadian rhythms that are out of synch with their early class schedules might have lower grades from "social jet lag," a condition in which school time doesn't line up with alert time. * That was the finding of a new study out of the University of California Berkeley published Thursday in the journal Scientific Reports. In their research, the team tracked the online activity of about 15,000 college students and sorted them into three categories - "night owls," "daytime finches" and morning larks" - based on the times they were most active outside of class * "We found that the majority of students were being jet-lagged by their class times, which correlated very strongly with decreased academic performance," co-lead author of the study, Benjamin Smarr, told the Berkeley News. * Social jetlag is also connected to obesity and excessive alcohol and tobacco use, the study said." -- Brilliant... NOT! Good grief.. parents let their kids stay up too late watching TV, computers, and/or their cellphones at night.. of course kids are "too tired" by sunrise.. Maybe it's time to "punch a RESET button" (Hey Hellary.. how about loaning us yours.. maybe it'll work this time... and you don't need it now). My generation grew up with TV stations signing off for the night, and no phones (landlines at that) or computers/TVs in our bedrooms.. even at College Even then, no student actually liked getting up for an 8:00 AM class.. but we did.. and it's our generation that learned how to create better TVs, phones, and computers.. too bad we didn't count on parents buying all the distractions for their children in elementary school..

We didn't watch "Roseanne" on its Tuesday night debut, so we caught it on Hulu Friday. True, it was pro-Trump, but it was just "OK" funny...The Last Man Standing was a much funnier show.

From the "if the alumni doesn't step up now, Harvard's place in history will be forfeited" department - Online headline/story: "Harvard scrubs 'Puritans' from alma mater because it is not 'inclusive' * “Puritans” are no more at Harvard University. * The Ivy League purged the word from its alma mater, “Fair Harvard,” taking out the reference to the English Protestants who founded the nation’s oldest institution of higher education. * The song’s lyrics were revised in 1998 to make it gender inclusive, and Tuesday the university changed the last line, which previously said, “Be the herald of light, and the bearer of love, till the stock of the Puritans die.” * The Task Force on Inclusion and Belonging made the decision to take out “Puritans” from the “living symbol” opting for the line: “Till the stars in the firmament die.” -- Good grief.. as the familiar adage says, "those who forget history are bound to repeat it", but what will be the effect of "rewriting history"? I's no longer just "forgotten", it's as if it never existed...Harvard alumni should be up in arms over having their history blotted out by political correctness.

Soapbox moment: It seems like society is more concerned at making prisons more homelike and welcoming than building them to remind parolees that they really don't want to come back.
---
California is waking up...well, at least the taxpayers are.. Suddenly, the taxpayers are realizing that their legislators have told their police departments to release dangerous illegal alien criminals unceremoniously back into their communities rather than turn them over to ICE for deportation. I can imagine Trump/conservatives are picking up votes in California as we speak.
---
Good grief! We see there are other "jury fails" in places outside of Columbus. The Orlando massacrer's wife was found "not guilty" of all charges of helping/knowing her husbands actions. Casey Anthony's attorney was probably re-patting himself on the back.
---
Court cases here are not about justice anymore.. they are too often decided by "jury fails". Juries wrongly releasing criminals back into the community is not GOOD for Columbus.
---
I think I need some help.. As I understand DACA, DACA was a policy of Obama .. not a law. How can a lower court rule Trump cannot change the immigration policy to one he likes?
---
WTVM 9 headline: "One Dead, Two More Sent to Hospital after Overnight Shooting on Andrews Road" -- Is this number 9 or 10? Either way, Columbus is on a record pace to have it's highest murder-by-gun year. Anybody got a clue what Las Vegas odds are on any of the guns used being legal?
---
From the "maybe we ought to "vet" liberal appointed judges closer" department - Online headline/story: "Judge bars US from 'obstructing' illegal minors' access to abortions while ACLU suit plays out * Pregnant teens who enter this country illegally and are held in federal custody can't be barred by the U.S. government from obtaining abortions while a lawsuit over access to such services progresses. * U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan ordered Friday that the government be barred from “interfering with or obstructing” pregnant minors' access to abortion counseling or abortions while a lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) plays out. * The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) shelters children who illegally enter the U.S. and, according to department lawyers, it has a policy “of refusing to facilitate” abortions." -- You know.. Judge Chutken was born in Jamaica, and became a citizen by naturalization.. perhaps she should have recused herself on this issue. To boot, she was an Obama appointee, and this affect the DACA which is an Obama policy, not a US law.

From the "hmmm.. we might have a predicament here" department - Online headline: "Elton John says he has yet to receive his royal wedding invitation" -- hmmm... didn't I read Sir Elton was "playing" at the event? Could it simply be that the r=]Royals don't send invitations to the hired help?
---
From the "a liberal SYSTEM fail" department - Online headline/story: "'Palm Sunday Massacre' gunman who killed 10 people in 1984 discreetly released from prison * The gunman behind the 1984 “Palm Sunday Massacre” that left 10 people dead and was considered one of New York City’s largest mass shootings in decades was quietly released from prison in January. * Christopher Thomas, 68, was released from Shawangunk Correctional Facility on Jan. 5 and is believed to be residing in Queens, N.Y., the New York Post reported. He was released after serving about two-thirds of his 50-year maximum sentence, good behavior and fulfilling other criteria, a New York State Department of Corrections spokesperson said. * Thomas was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 25 to 50 years in 1985, following the massacre. He was able to avoid a murder rap because it was determined his heavy cocaine usage “contributed to his actions,” the New York Post reported. * “The parole board did not let him out,” the spokesperson said. “He had five appearances before the parole board and was denied every time. He doesn’t need board approval because he served two-thirds.” -- "able to avoid a murder rap because it was determined his heavy cocaine usage “contributed to his actions"? "released after serving about two-thirds of his 50-year maximum sentence, good behavior and fulfilling other criteria"? "is believed to be residing in Queens, N.Y"? Good grief.. we cannot blame this on a jury.. This guy was a mental case back in 1984, and 30-plus years of prison did not cure him, and now he's back on the street, and authorities are not even sure WHERE HE'S LIVING!

Online "headLIE": "Tammy Bruce: Poor California -- Democrats are turning the state into a major nightmare" -- I don't even know "Tammy Bruce" but her evaluation is dead wrong... the headline should read: "Piss-Poor DIMocrats have turned California into a major nightmare".
---
A few weeks back I drew attention to wasteful government spending using the MCSD spending on wrestling buildings, an unneeded new high school, local bike trails, and that footbridge that collapsed in Florida (among others). But I think I witnessed the worst waste a couple of weeks ago.. right before we went on a Spring break trip to Florida, I witnessed a road-striping truck applying new paint to segments of Whitesville Road that have not recently had any repaving.. nor even enough "patching.. that's right.. the trucks operators just sprayed new lines over patched and existing potholes. WE know the road will get resurfaced, and the City will pay again for re-striping which basically doubles the cost of re-striping.

L-E headline/story: "Speed tables on 18th Avenue raising concerns over safety, not speeders * Over the past two or three weeks, some motorists have feared tire damage as anchor bolts have become loose on the speed tables. Drivers said they steer around the bolts to prevent contact with tires. * “This is a known problem with this type of speed table structure,” AliFarhani said. “They cannot be anchored properly and shift causing the anchors to come loose, requiring continuous maintenance.”" -- "a known problem with this type of speed table structure"? More wasteful spending piled on more wasteful spending.. Of course, due diligence before purchasing the rubber strips would have saved ALL the wasted spending, but why are they being re-applied knowing they will not work satisfactorily?

From the "Let's parse what Hollywood says is "SUCCESS" department - L-E story: "Steven Spielberg has found his way back to the top of the box office with the action-adventure “Ready Player One.”

Studio estimates on Sunday say Spielberg’s virtual reality-focused film earned a solid $53.2 million in its first four days in theaters from 4,234 locations since opening Wednesday night, with $41.2 million of that coming from the three-day weekend." -- Hmmm $41,000,000.00 ... sounds IMPRESSIVE.. but as figures don't lie, liars figure a lot...so let's look into the real world figures... 4,234 theater screens showed over 3 days produced $41 Million in ticket sales.. using say $10,00 as a ticket price, that means 4.1 Million tickets were sold. 4.1 Million tickets divided by 4,234 theaters means each theater averaged 969 patrons over 3 days.. 969 patrons over 3 days means each theater averaged about 323 patron per day, I'm sure each theater averaged 4 showing per day so basically, any one screening averaged but 80 or so viewers.. Hollywood is not as hot as it wants us to believe..

The body of a local father who drowned while fishing with his son was recovered... they are still searching for the 4-year old. Everyone.. please pray for this family..

L-E headline: "Commitment to King’s unfinished work remains 50 years later" -- You know, Dr King is sad... sad because his disciples no longer seek to make his dream.. his dream that everyone be judged by their character and not the color of their shin... come true.. now, re-segregation seems to be the goal of his remaining disciples and the next generation.

The NCAA Women's Tournament fared a whole lot better than the Men's version.. the 4 teams in the women's Final 4 were all their brackets' Number 1 seed.. Both the semi--final games went to overtime, and the finals was won on a last second shot. My Mississippi State women's team didn't win but it wasn't the players' fault.. bad coaching decisions happened.. State's start 6'7" center was never relieved during the game, so she was worn out with less that 10 seconds to go and could not make a lay-up to put State ahead...
