Mainscream media must really look forward to running stories on April 1st... they can say whatever they want.. as usual.. but can avoid having to apologize later by declaring it was an "April Fools" prank.
---
From the "they took the bait" department - Online headline/story: "China imposes tariffs in response to US duties on steel, aluminum * China has slapped extra tariffs of up to 25 percent on 128 U.S. products including frozen pork, as well as on wine and certain fruits and nuts, in response to U.S. duties on imports of aluminum and steel, China's finance ministry said." -- Trump is "the Deal Maker". America's infrastructure is now protected, while China just raised prices for on itself on feeding "wants".
---
NBC tried to present itself as "quasi-Christian" last night.. it was presenting its version of "Jesus Christ, Superstar".. using a cast of Hollywood 'No-Trumpers"...not in my home... except weekend for GOLF when CBS doesn't carry it, we don't watch NBC other than "This Is Us"..
---
Online headline: "NBC's Chuck Todd slammed on Twitter for Good Friday comments" -- You know, I've never seen Chuck Todd on anything other than some online report of his aberrations.. don't guess I ever will..
---
From the "is he really that dumb" department - Online headline: "Dismissed VA head Shulkin says he did not resign" -- Then Shulkin better "resign himself" that he was FIRED for "JUST Cause". Can you believe a person could be so stupid that he will tell the world that he was fired.. and at the same time SHOW the world WHY he was fired?
---
Online headline/story: "Republican Senator Lindsey Graham warns against Syria troop withdrawal * "It’d be the single worst decision the president could make," Republican Senator Lindsey Graham: -- Oooops... and I think the "worst mistake" Trump can make is to endorse the like of Graham for re-election....
---
Online headline/story: "Video shows protester hit by Sacramento sheriff's vehicle at Stephon Clark rally * The newspaper said the protester was taken to a hospital by the fire department and later released with bruises. * The sheriff's office said in a statement early on Sunday that protesters were yelling and kicking the patrol car. "The collision occurred while the patrol vehicle was traveling at slow speeds," it said." -- I tell you what..if a mob surrounded my vehicle, I would proceed slowly to give them more time to consider how stupid they are being, but at the first kick or attempt to board or enter, I'd accelerate to the speed limit and not worry about what a jury would do...
---
Online headline: "Garry Shandling's Twitter account re-activated by friends" -- hmmm... they do know Gary Shandling died over 2 years ago... I'll bet they saw where he voted for Hellary and assumed his death story was wrong.
---
From the "at least Newsweek is more open about it's bias" department - Online headline/story: "White House receives criticism over lack of diversity in intern program * as expected you can count on one hand the number of students of color in the program, reports Newsweek. * you literally have to quint in order to figure out who the students of color are. * Out of the 91 participants, the White House failed to enlist an equitable number of students of color to diversity it’s spring intern staff. * Critics made note that Obama’s intern staff had an ethically diverse population that exceeds Trump’s intern pool. -- Hmmm...."as expected you can count on one hand the number of students of color in the program, reports Newsweek" .... "you literally have to squint in order to figure out who the students of color are." -- To begin with, who can "squint" at a picture and determine the DNA of anyone anymore? Secondly, mainscream media seems to enjoy ignoring Dr. King's "dream" that everyone's worth is determined by there character rather than skin color. Thirdly, mainscream media gets as much enjoyment out of pulling "facts" out of thin air to "create" their point. The following is the Official demographics report of the Census Bureau following the last Census:
The overwhelming majority (97 percent) of the total U.S. population reported only one race in 2010. This group totaled 299.7 million. Of these, the largest group reported white alone (223.6 million), accounting for 72 percent of all people living in the United States. The black or African-American population totaled 38.9 million and represented 13 percent of the total population.

From the "liberals falsely celebrate" department - Online headline: "N.Y. passes measure prohibiting domestic abusers from owning guns" -- You know.. mainscream media will proclaim, "We won.. we won!".. yet such a law will do nothing to stop someone who already OWNS a gun legally from abusing his/her spouse/family..
---
While not a Roseanne Barr fan, I do celebrate her rights to speak freely.. I also know that more fans will show up at a Roseanne Bar public appearance than at a Hellary one.. this is why America was great in the past, and will be great again..
---
When will the Catholic Church replace Francis... he's more POOP than Pope.. earlier he presented his own rewrite of Jesus' prayer, and now he's reversing Jesus' teachings on Hell. Wonder what POOP Francis will "feel" when he meets Jesus and is directed to "Door Number 2".. Door Number 2 is ironic for a POOP.

Laura Ingraham was more childish at scolding a child than the child was.. but advertisers canceling on her show are ... basically.. IDIOTS.. I want companies trying to sell me products to show me they are in it for "the long haul". I want to know, that such companies can stand up for the integrity of their products, not "fold their tents" and run in the face of a bit of adversity. These advertisers "folded" under the spotlight.. bye!
The companies announcing that they are canceling their ads are: Nutrish, the pet food line created by celebrity chef Rachael Ray, travel website TripAdvisor Inc, online home furnishings seller Wayfair Inc, the world's largest packaged food company, Nestle SA, online streaming service Hulu, travel website Expedia Group Inc and online personal shopping service Stitch Fix. According to CBS News, four other companies joined the list Friday: the home office supply store Office Depot, the dieting company Jenny Craig, the Atlantis, Paradise Island resort and Johnson & Johnson which produces pharmaceuticals as well as consumer products such as Band-Aids, Neutrogena beauty products and Tylenol.
---
L-E headline/story: "HOUSING MARKET * Sparse house inventory fueling seller’s market * Those putting their homes on the market to sell this spring in the Columbus area will find themselves with a major advantage over buyers due to a very lean inventory of available dwellings on both sides of the Chattahoochee River. * Ultimately, that means house shoppers wishing to nail down a purchase before mortgage interest rates climb even more in the coming months will need to do their homework and be prepared to act very fast should they see something on the market that they just can’t live without." -- Well, well, well.. once again, the truth exposes Mayor Tom-LYING-son's lies about how the Tax Freeze hurts Columbus.. betcha John Pezold is glad he's not running for re-election as well. Oh... and what about Councilors running for re-election.. or the Councilor running for mayor?
---
Online headline: "Trump suggests if Hillary Clinton had won, US economy ‘would be a wreck’" -- And Trump's right.. Neither she nor "slick willie" owned/ran a real business... for that matter, they lived in public housing from 1979 until 2001. What's more scary is mainscream media doesn't remember during Hellary's campaign that she actually "roped them in".. had her minions literally holding the press corp assigned to follow her, reigning in their movement with actual ropes.
---
From the "bias, what bias?" department - To combat Trump's comments about the soaring GDP, in a stock market analysis piece, Yahoo reported last Wednesday that "the drop has “erased almost 40% of the market cap gains the S&P has enjoyed since President Donald Trump was elected to office.”" -- You know.. the fact that the markets started climbing ahead of the election results then soared when the results came in for Trump speaks volumes about the nation's economy anticipating and needing Trump. Now the yahoo's report a correction.. a needed correction, as a negative of Trump's leadership...GOOD GRIEF.. most of America has seen it's financial holdings/pensions/retirement funds soar 35-plus % before the recent profit takings and corrections, and.. as it is most Americans' holdings/retirement funds are still up 25% as it is. TRUMP 2020!
---
In 2012, I supported Zeph Baker in his campaign/runoff for Mayor...but I'm looking at the information the Board of Elections will consider as to his residence.. While a Homestead Exemption is not required, I'm concerned that tax correspondence for his home (Parcel ID: 066 028 022 at 1091 Bolton Court) is sent to a 1723 Laney Drive address ( parcel ID: 114 017 035).. Who is Tyler A Wadkins.. looks to me Mr Wadkins is looking after Zeph Baker's affairs at his Columbus home. I also note that Zephaniah Baker's name is involved in some sort of sales transaction at the 1723 Laney Drive address in December of 2008. We need clarity at a minimum.

From the "proof 93-year old ex-presidents do not need to be on Late Night TV programs" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Jimmy Carter rips Donald Trump: Apparently, America wants a jerk for president * Former President Jimmy Carter took a shot at President Donald Trump on Friday’s broadcast of “The Late Show.” * When host Stephen Colbert asked Carter whether America really “wants a jerk as president,” Carter replied: “Apparently, from this recent election year. I never knew it before.” -- You know.. to begin with, it's a shame Stephen Colbert would be given one-on-one access with a 93 year old, but in Cuzzin Jimmy's case, it's as much of a case of "Senior Abuse" as it is a travesty. Please note that Colbert did not touch on the facts that in 1980, America decided.. OVERWHELMINGLY.. that it didn't want "Caspar Milquetoast" for another term.. In fact other than GA, Carter won NONE of the Deep South states, and lost DIMocrat stomping grounds of Massachusetts, New York et al... EVEN California and Vermont.. America wanted someone other than a wuss representing us to the world.. Reagan won 489 Electoral votes and Cuzzin Jimmy got but 49..

From the "libs do not get it" department - Online headline/story: "Students' bad grades might be tied to class time * Students with circadian rhythms that are out of synch with their early class schedules might have lower grades from "social jet lag," a condition in which school time doesn't line up with alert time. * That was the finding of a new study out of the University of California Berkeley published Thursday in the journal Scientific Reports. In their research, the team tracked the online activity of about 15,000 college students and sorted them into three categories - "night owls," "daytime finches" and morning larks" - based on the times they were most active outside of class * "We found that the majority of students were being jet-lagged by their class times, which correlated very strongly with decreased academic performance," co-lead author of the study, Benjamin Smarr, told the Berkeley News. * Social jetlag is also connected to obesity and excessive alcohol and tobacco use, the study said." -- Brilliant... NOT! Good grief.. parents let their kids stay up too late watching TV, computers, and/or their cellphones at night.. of course kids are "too tired" by sunrise.. Maybe it's time to "punch a RESET button" (Hey Hellary.. how about loaning us yours.. maybe it'll work this time... and you don't need it now). My generation grew up with TV stations signing off for the night, and no phones (landlines at that) or computers/TVs in our bedrooms.. even at College Even then, no student actually liked getting up for an 8:00 AM class.. but we did.. and it's our generation that learned how to create better TVs, phones, and computers.. too bad we didn't count on parents buying all the distractions for their children in elementary school..
---
We didn't watch "Roseanne" on its Tuesday night debut, so we caught it on Hulu Friday. True, it was pro-Trump, but it was just "OK" funny...The Last Man Standing was a much funnier show.
---
From the "if the alumni doesn't step up now, Harvard's place in history will be forfeited" department - Online headline/story: "Harvard scrubs 'Puritans' from alma mater because it is not 'inclusive' * “Puritans” are no more at Harvard University. * The Ivy League purged the word from its alma mater, “Fair Harvard,” taking out the reference to the English Protestants who founded the nation’s oldest institution of higher education. * The song’s lyrics were revised in 1998 to make it gender inclusive, and Tuesday the university changed the last line, which previously said, “Be the herald of light, and the bearer of love, till the stock of the Puritans die.” * The Task Force on Inclusion and Belonging made the decision to take out “Puritans” from the “living symbol” opting for the line: “Till the stars in the firmament die.” -- Good grief.. as the familiar adage says, "those who forget history are bound to repeat it", but what will be the effect of "rewriting history"? I's no longer just "forgotten", it's as if it never existed...Harvard alumni should be up in arms over having their history blotted out by political correctness.

Soapbox moment: It seems like society is more concerned at making prisons more homelike and welcoming than building them to remind parolees that they really don't want to come back.
---
California is waking up...well, at least the taxpayers are.. Suddenly, the taxpayers are realizing that their legislators have told their police departments to release dangerous illegal alien criminals unceremoniously back into their communities rather than turn them over to ICE for deportation. I can imagine Trump/conservatives are picking up votes in California as we speak.
---
Good grief! We see there are other "jury fails" in places outside of Columbus. The Orlando massacrer's wife was found "not guilty" of all charges of helping/knowing her husbands actions. Casey Anthony's attorney was probably re-patting himself on the back.
---
Court cases here are not about justice anymore.. they are too often decided by "jury fails". Juries wrongly releasing criminals back into the community is not GOOD for Columbus.
---
I think I need some help.. As I understand DACA, DACA was a policy of Obama .. not a law. How can a lower court rule Trump cannot change the immigration policy to one he likes?
---
WTVM 9 headline: "One Dead, Two More Sent to Hospital after Overnight Shooting on Andrews Road" -- Is this number 9 or 10? Either way, Columbus is on a record pace to have it's highest murder-by-gun year. Anybody got a clue what Las Vegas odds are on any of the guns used being legal?
---
From the "maybe we ought to "vet" liberal appointed judges closer" department - Online headline/story: "Judge bars US from 'obstructing' illegal minors' access to abortions while ACLU suit plays out * Pregnant teens who enter this country illegally and are held in federal custody can't be barred by the U.S. government from obtaining abortions while a lawsuit over access to such services progresses. * U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan ordered Friday that the government be barred from “interfering with or obstructing” pregnant minors' access to abortion counseling or abortions while a lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) plays out. * The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) shelters children who illegally enter the U.S. and, according to department lawyers, it has a policy “of refusing to facilitate” abortions." -- You know.. Judge Chutken was born in Jamaica, and became a citizen by naturalization.. perhaps she should have recused herself on this issue. To boot, she was an Obama appointee, and this affect the DACA which is an Obama policy, not a US law.
---
From the "hmmm.. we might have a predicament here" department - Online headline: "Elton John says he has yet to receive his royal wedding invitation" -- hmmm... didn't I read Sir Elton was "playing" at the event? Could it simply be that the r=]Royals don't send invitations to the hired help?
---
From the "a liberal SYSTEM fail" department - Online headline/story: "'Palm Sunday Massacre' gunman who killed 10 people in 1984 discreetly released from prison * The gunman behind the 1984 “Palm Sunday Massacre” that left 10 people dead and was considered one of New York City’s largest mass shootings in decades was quietly released from prison in January. * Christopher Thomas, 68, was released from Shawangunk Correctional Facility on Jan. 5 and is believed to be residing in Queens, N.Y., the New York Post reported. He was released after serving about two-thirds of his 50-year maximum sentence, good behavior and fulfilling other criteria, a New York State Department of Corrections spokesperson said. * Thomas was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 25 to 50 years in 1985, following the massacre. He was able to avoid a murder rap because it was determined his heavy cocaine usage “contributed to his actions,” the New York Post reported. * “The parole board did not let him out,” the spokesperson said. “He had five appearances before the parole board and was denied every time. He doesn’t need board approval because he served two-thirds.” -- "able to avoid a murder rap because it was determined his heavy cocaine usage “contributed to his actions"? "released after serving about two-thirds of his 50-year maximum sentence, good behavior and fulfilling other criteria"? "is believed to be residing in Queens, N.Y"? Good grief.. we cannot blame this on a jury.. This guy was a mental case back in 1984, and 30-plus years of prison did not cure him, and now he's back on the street, and authorities are not even sure WHERE HE'S LIVING!
---
Online "headLIE": "Tammy Bruce: Poor California -- Democrats are turning the state into a major nightmare" -- I don't even know "Tammy Bruce" but her evaluation is dead wrong... the headline should read: "Piss-Poor DIMocrats have turned California into a major nightmare".
---
A few weeks back I drew attention to wasteful government spending using the MCSD spending on wrestling buildings, an unneeded new high school, local bike trails, and that footbridge that collapsed in Florida (among others). But I think I witnessed the worst waste a couple of weeks ago.. right before we went on a Spring break trip to Florida, I witnessed a road-striping truck applying new paint to segments of Whitesville Road that have not recently had any repaving.. nor even enough "patching.. that's right.. the trucks operators just sprayed new lines over patched and existing potholes. WE know the road will get resurfaced, and the City will pay again for re-striping which basically doubles the cost of re-striping.

---
L-E headline/story: "Speed tables on 18th Avenue raising concerns over safety, not speeders * Over the past two or three weeks, some motorists have feared tire damage as anchor bolts have become loose on the speed tables. Drivers said they steer around the bolts to prevent contact with tires. * “This is a known problem with this type of speed table structure,” AliFarhani said. “They cannot be anchored properly and shift causing the anchors to come loose, requiring continuous maintenance.”" -- "a known problem with this type of speed table structure"? More wasteful spending piled on more wasteful spending.. Of course, due diligence before purchasing the rubber strips would have saved ALL the wasted spending, but why are they being re-applied knowing they will not work satisfactorily?

From the "Let's parse what Hollywood says is "SUCCESS" department - L-E story: "Steven Spielberg has found his way back to the top of the box office with the action-adventure “Ready Player One.”

Studio estimates on Sunday say Spielberg’s virtual reality-focused film earned a solid $53.2 million in its first four days in theaters from 4,234 locations since opening Wednesday night, with $41.2 million of that coming from the three-day weekend." -- Hmmm $41,000,000.00 ... sounds IMPRESSIVE.. but as figures don't lie, liars figure a lot...so let's look into the real world figures... 4,234 theater screens showed over 3 days produced $41 Million in ticket sales.. using say $10,00 as a ticket price, that means 4.1 Million tickets were sold. 4.1 Million tickets divided by 4,234 theaters means each theater averaged 969 patrons over 3 days.. 969 patrons over 3 days means each theater averaged about 323 patron per day, I'm sure each theater averaged 4 showing per day so basically, any one screening averaged but 80 or so viewers.. Hollywood is not as hot as it wants us to believe..

The body of a local father who drowned while fishing with his son was recovered... they are still searching for the 4-year old. Everyone.. please pray for this family..
---
L-E headline: "Commitment to King’s unfinished work remains 50 years later" -- You know, Dr King is sad... sad because his disciples no longer seek to make his dream.. his dream that everyone be judged by their character and not the color of their shin... come true.. now, re-segregation seems to be the goal of his remaining disciples and the next generation.
---
The NCAA Women's Tournament fared a whole lot better than the Men's version.. the 4 teams in the women's Final 4 were all their brackets' Number 1 seed.. Both the semi--final games went to overtime, and the finals was won on a last second shot. My Mississippi State women's team didn't win but it wasn't the players' fault.. bad coaching decisions happened.. State's start 6'7" center was never relieved during the game, so she was worn out with less that 10 seconds to go and could not make a lay-up to put State ahead...
