Kama-LIAR’s above answer reminded me of a day in the summer of 1963. I was 16, and was working a construction job here in Columbus, GA and was assigned to be the “carpenter’s assistant” to Floyd Hudgins. Floyd was running to replace the late Joe King in a special election. One day, he told me of a 3-way candidates Town Hall meeting held in Cusseta, GA where he was asked how he felt about the current highway proposal  that would bypass the city of Cusseta.  At the time, it was a political bomb. Floyd laughingly told me his answer… he said, “Well half of my friends are “FOR” the highway, and half of my friends are “AGAINST” the highway.. then he took a ‘pregnant pause’  followed by “but y’all know me, and I’m FOR MY FRIENDS!” That worked for Floyd as he became GA State Senator Hudgins… I don’t think Kama-LIAR’s “Floyd” answer will work for her, though…

Though I'm now 77, and grew up with rotary dial land phones, I am truly a product of the 21st Century when it comes to reliance on instant phone communications of today. I was able to contact my nephews in NC and SC immediately after Hurricane HELL-ene devastated their areas, but one of my dearest and oldest friends lives in Asheville now, and when I tried to contact him Friday AM to check on him (and wish him another "Happy Birthday"), I was met with the dreaded "straight to voice mail" feeling.  Through phone and text and e-mail, I tried multiple times to contact him and his daughter all day Friday and Saturday, and finally got a "text message" from him on Sunday . God is good!

I guess it was the 1^st Amemndement that made Mike Wallace, Brian Williams, and Chris Cuomo make up stories that eventually got them fired… I guess it was the 1^st Amendment that made John Kerry to falsely appear to throw away his War Medals yet hang on to them….  It had to be the 1^st Amendment… NOT!

Spectrum is OUT! Yesterday evening, we got back from our grandsons' baseball game only to find out our WiFi and Cable were "out". A call to Spectrum got a robotic response saying service would be back at 12:30 AM. Well, now it's 11:00 AM and Spectrum won't even give us an anticipatory "fix" time, NOR allow us to talk with a living technician! As far as I'm concerned, it's a "Popeye Moment"... "it's all I can stands cause I can't stands no more"!  Ah! Fixed at 11:20!

 

Now, whether to go back to WOW, or get a satellite service...that is my question..
