Amazing... like Comey, McCabe took notes when he talked with Trump. Amazing, because neither took notes.. nor recorded... their INVESTIGATIVE talks with Hellary. Sounds to me like they were already colluding...
---
Online story: "Five Manhattan doctors were paid more than $800,000 by a pharmaceutical company to prescribe a spray version of the highly potent and addictive opioid fentanyl to more and more patients whether they needed it or not, * The money was earmarked as "speaker fees" for educational lectures on the drug that the doctors had agreed to give to medical professionals. In reality, according to federal prosecutors, the "lectures" were just booze-fueled social gatherings, and the fees were kickbacks paid to prescribe the drug, Subsys." -- "$800,000.00 in "speaker fees"? Hmmm.. I can smell Slick Willie's brain churning now.. wondering if he can get Harvard to bestow him an honorary medical degree.. imagine.... "Dr Bill" , and maybe with an honorary OB-Gyn specialist/Sex Therapist degree.
---
Went shopping over the weekend at a grocery store on "the Gulf"..I was upset when juices I use to buy in half-gallon sizes suddenly became "59 ounces", but I was really taken back that the Florida grocery stores are now peddling those juices in "52 Ounce" bottles..
---
From another missing video from Hellary's "trips" in India.. There was video of her second deplorables "trips".. there was video of her "trips" on the steps there.. fortunately there were NO videos of her bathroom 'trip', but what there was no video at all was where Bill Clinton had "tripped off" to...
---
Can't let the university pedestrian bridge that collapsed go by without another comment/reminder. Once again.. government wasteful spending is highlighted under the rubble of a travesty.. The university spent $14 Million (another source said $9.2 Million) on a pedestrian bridge at a traffic-light-controlled intersection.. For that kind of money, the University could have hired peak hour monitors to be there, and could have spent $100,000.00 annually for either 140 or 92 years.. which would far exceed the life of the pedestrian bridge even if it was built satisfactorily..
---
Had a lull Saturday, and watched a bit of the Tenn- Loyola Shicago game.I thought basketball was a team sport, and teams wear matching uniforms in team unity... but 3 different Loyola Shicago players were wearing white, black, and nude shoes. When I played, we all wore the same color shoes.

---
NCAA Update.. 3 Top 16 teams LOST in the first round.. another fell Saturday.. 5 fell Sunday.. This means less than half of the teams ranked in the Top 16 will not be moving into the "Sweet 16"..And only 4 of these were seeded #1 or #2.
---
I love the drone... the rants... coming from he top echelon of FBI execs who were there before Trump took office.. it just shows how corruption has crept into the FBI via political appointments. It also shows how much Trump has been needed.. American citizens need... NEED to know that our security and future are not in jeopardy. Let's all pray for eventual peace.. and silence in the future.
---
Saturday night, there was a club in Louisville, KY that had a gunfight break out, and 7 people were shot.. no reports of death... yet... but for all concerned that metal detectors are a cure-all for school security... they did not stop this from happening.
---
For some reason, Amy Bryan , Chamber exec, and mayoral candidate is being allowed to run even though the Chamber gets funds from the Development Authority which is funded by our tax dollars. Mike Edmondson was drawing pay from the MCSD but he had to resign because the MCSD is funded with tax dollars. This is a legal issue that needs to be delved into, but one clear thing was Amy Bryant and the Chamber were leaders in the Mayor's assault on our tax freeze.. She and the Chamber would have directly benefited if the Mayor's attempt had been successful.. we do not need a tax and spend rep in Council Post 10.
---
Interesting...while crossing the 13th Street Bridge into Phenix City, I saw 3 big Ft Benning buses parked out in front of WhiteWater. Has Mayor Tom-LYING-son so damaged relationships with Ft Benning that they drive extra to use the Phenix City facility which cuts Columbus and Georgia completely out of the revenue cycle?
---
Geraldo Rivera sort slipped into the Fox Saturday conversations and I heard him talking before I had time to reach for the remote to change channels. You know, Geraldo use to be a reporter..not a particularly good one, but a reporter nonetheless. Now he's nothing more than a paid DIMocrat Kool-Aid influenced parrot who is paid to say what the party's mantra of the day is.
---
Excuse me, but why would people go to Puerto Rico and get abandoned/abused dogs to bring them to our mainland to put them into our already overflowing adopt-a-pet system?
---
From the "deja vu" department - Online headline: "'This Board Should Be Taken Apart': NY Lawmaker Blasts State Board for Paroling Double Cop Killer" - Wait a minute.. didn't a deputy in Tennessee recently get killed by another cop-killer out on parole? Shooting a law enforcement officer should carry a life-without-parole sentence.. at a minimum..death should be the "go-to" sentence.
---
From the "huh?" department - Online story: "Adrian Lamo, the notorious computer hacker who turned in Chelsea Manning to the FBI and was arrested for hacking into The New York Times and Microsoft, has died in Kansas at age 37. * Sedgwick County spokeswoman Kate Flavin said Friday that Lamo’s body was at the morgue in Wichita. The Wichita Eagle reported Lamo was found dead in his apartment Wednesday. * Charley Davidson, a Wichita police officer told the media outlet there was “nothing suspicious about his death.” It was not immediately clear how Lamo died." -- "nothing suspicious about his death"? The fact there was "nothing suspicious" about the unexpected death of a 37 year-old is suspicious in itself.. Hmmm.. where was Bill Clinton.. we're pretty sure he wasn't in India.
---
From the "good grief!" department - L-E story: "To pay for the expanded scope and cost of upgrading some athletics fields, the Muscogee County School District wants to take all of the $7.2 million voters approved for these projects at five high schools and spend it on two of them while seeking additional money for the rest." -- Good Grief.. the MCSD has never before been interested in a proper landscaping program.. nor maintenance... of any of the public school grounds, but now wants to pour $7.2 MILLION "upgrading" two schools baseball/softball facilities? And then come back asking for more for the 3 schools being cut-out of the promises made to get parents to vote FOR the SPLOST? No way, Jose! The existing MCSB should make a stand on such waste...

While we're talking about government wastefully spending money on programs that have no maintenance programs included in the plans.. I remember back in the late 80s/maybe early in the 1990s, the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department spent $100,000.00 re-sodding and installing a manual sprinkler system on the football field at Belvedere Park. I was attending a Little League Baseball Tournament there, and walked over to see the work.. The sod was completely burned out.. the City put in the sprinkler system, but there was no one put in responsibility of TURNING IT ON AS NEEDED! I can already see this happening at the two schools the MCSD has picked out "to favor" over the others.
---
L-E commentary headline/content: "Education spending consumes new state revenues" -- I tell you what.. when local school systems spend local money.. whether SPLOST related like the $7.2 MILLION to be spent dressing up high school baseball fields, or a University building a $9.2-to-$14 MILLION dollar pedestrian bridge from donations, why should the state be overly concerned about how much money it delegates to public schools/colleges? Maybe it would be better if the STATE had its OWN state-wide Education-SPLOST in addition to the normal revenue sources, and that tax be used to supplement state education distributions.. and once classrooms are "sufficiently" run/endowed, then the "extras".. like baseball field upgrades and pedestrian bridges could be addressed.
---
L-E headline/story: "Revised federal rules make it easier to hire unpaid interns * The new policy consists of a seven-part test that focuses on whether interns are the “primary beneficiary” of an intern-employer relationship. If the interns are judged to be the primary beneficiary of the job, they can legally perform work without being paid." -- "if the intern is the primary beneficiary of an intern-employer relationship, they can legally perform work without being paid"? You know, an intern will benefit with some on-the-job experience.. maybe with even a college class credit, but.. BUT.. what employer would bring one on that is not going to benefit him/her more? I mean, what employer is going to add an intern that either he/she.. or another paid employee is going to have to "wet nurse" an intern? While the intern DOES get benefit in a field of interest, federal minimum law should apply... after all.. interns are generally already skilled individuals.
---
Think about this.. Nancy Pelosi stood at the House Speakers lectern for 8 plus hours defending illegal aliens' "rights", yet did not stand up at all to honor our military during Trump's SOTU speech..
---
Once again, what is happening in the investigation of the garbage truck that the train load of Republicans collided with following the SOTU? Evidence shows explicitly that the garbage truck was maneuvered onto the track AFTER the warning signals were activated. That, and since none of the 3 men got out of the truck.. adding reason to believe it was an intentional suicide terrorist mission.
---
Not trying to take away from Rory McIlroy's 8-under par round which propelled him to a 3-stroke win yesterday, but Rory McIlroy just defined his future..and it doesn't look good...McIlroy just complained about 2 "sacred cows" of the PGA..he complained about having to play with Tiger Woods (gave him headaches) at the Genesis Tournament...then complained about excessive alcohol sales at the courses. Hey, Rory, Tiger and alcohol bring out a lot more fans than you do... and they are Americans! Go home!

BTW.. hey, golf announcers.. we love Tiger, too, but he's not quite back yet.. almost, but not quite.. stop fawning over him... or his past.. let him win back his edge.

---
When DIMocrats pop up their "October Surprise " 2 weeks before the November General Elections, the Republicans should flood the TV channels with a replay of Trump's SOTU speech when ALL the DIMocrats refused to stand up to honor our military. In fact, the Republicans should also book time on all the new Fall season shows aimed at the millennials to run it also.
---
Online headline/story: "Some officials wanted Stoneman Douglas suspect Nikolas Cruz committed in 2016, documents show * Some school counselors and officials were so concerned about the mental stability of Nikolas Cruz, accused in last month’s Florida school massacre, that they decided to have him forcibly committed more than a year before the shooting. * However, the recommendation was never acted upon." -- "the recommendation was never acted upon"? This... this is.. was... the weakness of "political correctness".. Thank God we do not have to be "politically correct" anymore.

---
From the "dangled with our own carrot" department - L-E headline/story: "Additional studies, concerns threaten plans for Mott’s Green rehabilitation project * In 2016, Columbus Council approved plans for a $1 million project that would rehabilitate green space near the old Mott House historic site. * The Mott’s Green property, located on the north side of the 14th Street pedestrian bridge, was to be spruced up in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation, which committed to providing $800,000 of the funds as long as the city contributed the remaining $200,000. " -- You know.. The GA DOT is dangling $800,000.00 to the City for something not needed but only if "we" cough up another $200,000. Excuse me, but the $800,000.00 the GA DOT is dangling to Columbus is already $800,000.00 from tax revenues we've already provide to the GA DOT!
Glenn Davis finally realized that Mayor Tom-LYING-son IS "duping" him.. this is no different than the Roundabout scheduled to be built near Davis' home driveway.. the GA DOT is paying for its share (about 50%) with tax dollars already collected from Columbus taxpayers.

---
Did you notice that there was no mention in the L-E of the box office receipts of "I can Only Imagine"? Well, I guess mainscream media isn't to keen on showing that a Christian themed movie brought in over $17,000,000.00 it's first weekend out. It's a really good movie.. family worthy!

---
Carlton Gary is now "gone"... finally..... what may never be "gone" are the memories of how terrified Columbus families were at the time of his reign of terror.. Damn him!

---
From the "hey, GA Legislators,, remember this when you're debating a return to paper ballots" department - L-E headline/story: "Putin heads for big win in fraud-tainted Russian vote * The vote was tainted by widespread reports of ballot-box stuffing and forced voting, but the complaints will likely do little to undermine Putin." -- And don't forget, the DIMocrats goal is for Socialism..where everyone is equal... except some.. the officials... are more equal than others...

---
L-E headline/story: "Fire destroys part of Columbus playground * The playground equipment was just installed last year according to Jermaine Billingsley, program assistant at the nearby A.J. McClung YMCA. * “It was around 2:45 to 3 p.m. when the fire started. It was lost quickly,” he said on Sunday. * Billingsley said much of the material used in the construction of the playground was hard rubber. * “It is recycled tires. Once it caught fire there was no stopping it,” he said." -- and not one word about the "cause" of the fire..we know that material had to be intentionally set on fire, but I didn't see the mention of "arson" nor "crime" in this story.. only that Parks & Rec installed it, so we taxpayers will be getting hit with costs and replacement costs..

This is a Special Saturday Edition.. essentially  because of the first couple of subjects... they just cannot wait until Monday's Edition for commentary
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Sessions rediscovered his manhood.. McCabe has been fired. America is streaming towards greatness again! McCabe wasn't fired on a Trump/Sessions whim.. it followed an investigation by the OPR.. the Office of Professional Responsibility.. (The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) is part of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) responsible for investigating attorneys employed by the DOJ who have been accused of misconduct or crimes in their professional functions. The OPR promulgates independent standards of ethical and criminal conduct ..

McCabe should have (probably was) been offered one opportunity to redeem himself in order to keep his pension intact..He was a "lifer"..a career employee..not a political appointee, so he should have known what was the right thing for him to do. Therefore, he was probably PRESSURED to do what he did..that being the probable scenario, McCabe should have had one opportunity to come clean on who "pressured him" and testify about it..then allowed to retire with his pension. Obviously he refused to cooperate.. Sessions did the RIGHT THING!

---
You've seen the hype about the movie "I Can Only Imagine"...Me too, and sorta prepared myself to be a little disappointed as we went to it opening night..About 16 of us from our Sunday School Class saw it together along with a couple hundred more first nighters.. it isn't hype..it's a fantastic movie. Do not miss it! Go tonight so you can tell your friends at church Sunday..

---
With Warm Springs Road at Hilton Avenue still in construction limbo, why have new traffic lights been installed..Why not a roundabout..the Mayor is so determined to spend $3 Million dollars on a roundabout at River Road \ at Bradley Park because she feels the City will save money not paying for electricity to run the existing traffic lights there, so why not at Warm Springs at Hilton Ave?

---
Poop Francis has a movie coming out.."Pope Francis. A man of his word". I wish he was a man of HIS word.

---
Government thinking...obviously an oxymoron of epic proportions. Government decided to build a $9.2 MILLION dollar "pedestrian bridge" in Miami..it collapsed before completion..it wasn't a cure all to begin with as no such "bridges" are suitable for bicycles and handicapped persons. Now..what if government just hired monitors to be there during the primary pedestrian usage hours.. Government could have spent $100,000.00 Annually , and do so for 92 YEARS with that $9,200,000.00 dollars it dispensed all at one time.

This makes my points about the roundabout Columbus Mayor Tom-LYING-son has used in forcing the River Road Roundabout upon us.. and for the "bullet train" she's padded her friends' pockets with "research" cash.

Is Spectrum manipulating our WiFi? Last week, Wednesday, my "power" was 4 bars..Thursday it was 3 bars, and Friday, it was 2 bars...my computer didn't move any of those days. At the same time Spectrum has been running ads soliciting faster speed WiFi at 100 MBs. I cannot help but wonder if the slow down in my WiFi strength has been planned by Spectrum. Anyone else notice?

---
Desiree Armstrong Perez.. better known locally as TV anchor/personality Dee Armstrong was arrested yesterday on simple battery charges.. for allegedly punching her son after he allegedly pinned her up against a wall following a vocal confrontation in her home at 4:00 AM. Considering it is her home, and her son is no youngster, I'm putting my faith in her story versus his.. hope the police arrested him, also, though no mention was made.

---
From the "talk about stereotyping and labeling" department - Online headline/story: "Ga. parents furious after 7-year-old, ‘the only white girl in her class,’ cast to play supremacist * In a video of the play, 7-year-old Anastasia Bertram, playing the part of a segregationist, yelled at a group of black children to “go away, you don’t belong here!” She then marched with a sign that read, “Go home,” on one side and “Cursed is the man who integrates” on the other, ABC-affiliated WSB-TV reported. * Douglas County School District said it is investigating the March 2 incident at Burnett Elementary School in Douglasville, after the girl’s parents complained that they were never notified about their daughter’s involvement in the play, and that they had no idea the nature of her role until they were sitting in the audience." -- You know.. first, the subject matter was not one of 1st/2nd discussion level.. but to put a child of any color on stage as the protagonist of a racial situation was wrong.. just wrong.

Online headline: "Nancy Pelosi complains border wall prototypes too ‘high’ for ‘civilized society’" -- First, what does Nancy Pelosi know about "civilized society". I was taught "civilized society" read contracts and other documents BEFORE you signed them, and besides, that she lives in a city that protects criminals from prosecution... how is that being a part of "civilized society"?

---
From the "how poetic" department - Online headline: "UMBC shocks Virginia, first 16-seed ever to beat a 1" --- Hmmm.. in a game that never should have been scheduled.. except the NCAA was just so greedy for TV revenues.. by putting 64 teams in so the top 16 teams have to play "Cinderella" teams , the NCAA has lost half of the expected match-up for the Championship game.. I usually don't even watch until the Final $, but this has about insured the lowest ever TV ratings for the Final 4.

---
We saw videos of Hellary's slips of the tongue blasting white women/wives, and we saw videos of Hellary's slips on steps in India, and now we hear she slipped in a bathtub and has fractured her wrist... thank heaven there were no videos of that!

---
I saw .. still am seeing signs saying, "Protect Kids, not guns".. Whatta misplaced protest! The protesters should be protesting, "Protect Kids, not felons and mentally ill killers"!

Carlton Gary IS.... no more..perhaps.. in a moment of remorse.. he refused not only his last meal, but the opportunity for prayer... his own or those of others.. I would like to think he found Jesus these 40 + years Columbus families (closer to 50 years for the families of some NY victims) have suffered from his actions, but maybe in his mind, not seeking salvation just suited his guilt by avoiding an eternal life among his victims.. little did he understand that they had forgiven him. There was no Barabbas moment.
---
Prayers for Donald and Vanessa Trump... and their children.. pray. also, that mainscream media gives the Donald Trump, Jrs the opportunity to work things out between themselves.. pray that mainscream media at least gives them the same respect they gave for Hunter Biden's divorce and affair.
---
Online headline: "Collapsed Florida walkway was built using new ‘accelerated’ bridge technology" -- Hmmm.. just hope the architects are not affiliated with Columbus, GA's River Road "roundabout" or the "Spider Web" reformation projects.
---
Looks like "bracket busters" are already affecting the NCAA Basketball pools...losses by Arizona and Miami lead the 1st Round upsets.. You know, if the NCAA would revamp its priorities, 1st Round upsets like these wouldn't happen between good and mediocre teams.. reducing the total participating teams to 48, with 1st round byes to the top 16 teams and teams 17-48 squaring off to to see which meets a top 16 team in the 2nd round would give arena and TV fans more reason to to watch from the gitgo.
---
From the "Shaking My Head" department - Online headline/story: "Bill to replace Georgia’s electronic voting machines passes committee * The legislation, Senate Bill 403, would replace the state’s 16-year-old electronic voting machines with a system that creates a paper backup to ensure accuracy." -- Good grief.. is there no one left in the GA Legislature that REMEMBERS WHY paper ballots were replaced? What's needed is a better use of electronic advancements.. why not use the electronic "fingerprint" tech we have to instantly identify registered voters... coupled with the age old "purple ink finger dip" to make sure there are no "double dip" voters. And while we at it, how about a national comparison of fingerprints/social security numbers of all registration databases to check for duplicate registrations/voting activity, and all death certificates require confirmation of being purged from voter databases..and voting results.

You know...DIMocrats and mainscream media have really revealed themselves as unbelievers...Neither have "hope" in America nor Trump. When Obama was President, Christians prayed for wisdom for him.. same as they did for Bush 43, Clinton, Bush41 et al before them.. I do not see mainscream media or DIMocrats praying FOR Trump.. the truth is very revealing...
---
Question: Do we have any new car dealers left in Columbus that are owned by Columbus people?
---
Satellites...I had a thought flash yesterday...saw a TV satellite dish and wondered if satellites "correct" their orbit when the Earth changes seasons and the equator tilts n/s as the seasons change. My first thought is the gravitational pull keeps them aligned on the equator longitude..but I just don't "KNOW"... any physicists or rocket scientists out there?
---
From the "here we go... again!" department - L-E headline/story: "MCSD promised athletic upgrades at 5 schools —but $7.2 million not enough, district says * “We done have enough in the SPLOST to do all the projects,” Hecht said. “The reasons are several. We didn’t estimate properly, No. 1, and No. 2, the project has grown exponentially.”" -- Well, it looks like the MCSD has seen "The Greatest Showman" and adopted its blockbusting song as it's inspiration...more than enough money is "Never Enough". Fixing two existing high school baseball fields to be "nice enough" to play on is ludicrous.. but to blame it on improper "estimates" takes the cake.. I consider "estimates" of $312.00 a square foot for metal-on-slab wrestling buildings an improper "estimate".. wanting to spend $3.6 MILLION per high school baseball fields is an insult to the taxpayers.. Even sadder, is there won't be an organized maintenance program to insure the fields are even playable 5 years from now.. It boils down to "SPLOST estimates" are not such...they are merely figures pulled out of thin air to run up the goal for revenues. Future SPLOST requests should have to based on actual construction estimates at the time of the requests..
One of the things that Columbus High can do is create a softball field with its home plate out in Center field.. The softball season is in the fall, and the skinned area can be planted over with rye grass to use it as a baseball field in the Spring.. Sorry ..such a solution doesn't require MILLIONs of SPLOST tax dollars to happen..
---
From the "this is worse than a 'jury fail'.. it's an insanity fail" department - Online headline/story: "Calif. judge bars LA from enforcing gang restrictions that authorities credited with reducing crime * The ruling Thursday by U.S. District Judge Virginia A. Phillips, an appointee of former President Bill Clinton, agreed with the American Civil Liberties Union that the injunctions were likely to be unconstitutionally broad, and affect people who did not have adequate opportunity to challenge them in court." -- Hmmm this musta been why Mayor Tom-LYING-son has been so adamant that we don't have gangs in Columbus.. she concerned over the rights of criminals not being arrested for gang activities... at the expense of the community as a whole.
---
From the "talk about social injustice.. the L-E went to press too early" department - L-E headline/story: "US Supreme Court denies Gary’s appeals * The U.S. Supreme Court has denied two eleventh-hour appeals by condemned Columbus Stocking Strangler Carlton Gary, according to Georgia’s Attorney General’s office. * Sabrina D. Graham said the appeals were denied around 9:45 p.m. and the state of Georgia is moving forward with the execution." -- Hey, L-E you missed it.. you let your readers DOWN!...
---
Hmmm... swimsuit season is upon us.. and confusion hits young women in the face.. like all mainscream media, the L-E rants support of the "#metoo" movement, but them accepts ..and runs.. ads for swimsuits that announce the intent is to make young women's bodies more attractive to males they don't even know.. (Dillard's ad.. page A3)

---
From the "another one bites the dust" department - L-E headline/story: "Toys R Us closing all stores in US, plans liquidation sales * That would include the Toys R Us store at 5555 Whittlesey Blvd. at Columbus Park Crossing, which has operated in the market more than three decades. It has done business at Columbus Park since 2002, relocating that year from 3150 Macon Road in Midtown Square, where it had operated at least since the mid-1980s. -- "All stores in US closing"...and that includes the one in Columbus.. Hmmm ... nothing gets by the L-E... sadly, another icon of retail leaves Columbus, and sales tax revenues take another hit locally... thanks Mayor...NOT!

Thursday, March 15, 2018

From the "it's time to put on big boy pants" department - L-E headline/story: "Only 2 Columbus students walked out for national protest. Here's what others did instead. * The girls said they knew there could be consequences for their actions but were not concerned." -- Well, well, well.. "the two knew there "could be consequences but were nor=t concerned"? Well, it's time the MCSD/MCSB makes sure the consequences fit the edict that such actions would not be tolerated. IF the MCSD and MCSB don't, all discipline and respect of such will be lost. Of course, the L-E was pretty pathetic in itself.. seriously... 3 reporters and a photographer at one school? Sounds like it was some sort of pre-planned demonstration... perhaps even manipulated by the L-E...
---
Soapbox Moment: L-E story: "The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles declined to stay condemned ‘Stocking Strangler’ Carlton Gary’s execution or commute his death sentence Wednesday, the day before he’s to die by lethal injection." --
I remember during the reign of terror Carlton Gary created over Columbus that a "victim profile" was issued by the CPD.. the "victims" were basically "white single women in their 60s, living alone" My aunt lived in the center of the main area.. she was a 61 year old white single woman living alone. She was scared to death.. enough so she moved out of her family home..a week or so later, we discovered that someone had broken into her home via the second story . We had already put in an alarm system on the first floor, but someone (no prints were found) scaled a brick wall to access the garage roof, then entered through a 2nd floor window. She would not move back into her home after the terror stopped.. she would be 102 if she was still alive today; in fact all the women assaulted/killed would be over 100 today as Carlton Gary breathes his last. Tragically, only one child of all the victims is still alive this day.. I hope he has been invited to not only attend the execution, but to throw the switch that starts the process.. it wouldn't offend me if a few of the lawyers that have soaked the public protecting this (_@_) were included as well.
---
Did I hear right....that there's a proposal in front of Columbus Council to make an extended viewing station off of the planned River Walk extension at Mott Terrace at TSYS to overlook the rafting course? Excuse me, but we already have the Walking Bridge that already offers great viewing of the rafting, so would another station, with a lesser view at additional costs be just more wasteful spending?
---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton criticized by fellow Dems for trashing female Trump voters" -- Wow.. it's amazing what desperate DIMocrats hear when they stop drinking the Clinton's Kool-Aid..
---
Oh! Did you see the video of Hellary stumbling down the steps in India? All I could think of was "Humpty Dumpty had a great fall"....
---
You know, if Hellary..even Obama.. had campaigned on the issues like Conor Lamb did in Pennsylvania , I might have voted for them. Of course, neither would have gotten the DNC's nomination running on the Trump agenda rather than Pelosi's, so my premise is moot.
---
Did you hear it yesterday, the sound of silence Simon and Garfunkel wrote about? A lot teens held silent cellphones for 17 minutes.
---
I just discovered that there's a new "Paint Ball" facility in Columbus.. What a great lesson it conveys... having fun aiming a gun at friends/people and shooting them.. and we wonder where teens learn to initiate drive-by and school shootings...
---
From "the worm has turned" department - Online headline/story: "Nation of Islam lashes out at 3 black members of Congress, calling them sellouts for denouncing Farrakhan * In an open letter on the group's website, Representatives Gregory Meeks, Barbara Lee and Danny Davis, who have disavowed Farrakhan's anti-Semitic and racist rhetoric, are accused of being sellouts to Farrakhan's critics -- derided as "Satanic Jews" -- and the Nation of Islam leader is compared to Jesus Christ. * “Remember, it was the same Satanic Jews of yesterday that conspired against Jesus and had him killed by the ruling authority of the Roman Empire," the letter reads. "They hated Jesus because he told the truth. Jesus was ridiculed, falsely charged, lied on, evil spoken of and called a hater and a bigot.” -- Hmmm ... and next, Farrakhan will call the "racist alt-rights"...but excuse me, but shouldn't Iran's Ayatollah be issuing a "death edict" for Farrakhan's support of Jesus?
---
From the "life as it should be" - Online headline/story: "Sessions may fire top FBI official Andrew McCabe before pension eligibility * The FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility has recommended the firing of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who remains on the payroll — a move that could put his pension at risk, according to officials familiar with the process." -- Good grief.. any one holding any job in government involving the security of America who gets fired for cause should not get a lifetime taxpayer funded pension.. and it's not just McCabe I'm thinking of, but what Lois Lerner .. the IRS gal that denied 501-(c)-3 permits for conservative groups,, she abused her office to the detriment of American citizens as well.

From the "make sure Columbus Council sees this" department - Online headline/story: "Ohio town must pay back millions of fines collected from speed cameras, court rules * A small Ohio town that lived by the red light camera could soon die by it, after a federal court ruled the speed trap has to pay back more than $3 million in automated speeding tickets. * “The village enacted this unconstitutional scheme primarily as a money making venture,” Josh Engel, the lawyer representing the plaintiffs in the New Miami case, told Fox News. * Bill Seitz, a Republican state representative from Ohio, told Fox News. “But many of these jurisdictions are using these tickets as revenue enhancements that ticket people for only minor infractions.” * Seitz is currently working to push a bill through the Ohio statehouse that would require cities to file all traffic camera cases in municipal court and would reduce state funding to cities by the same amount cities collect in traffic camera revenue." -- Now that's a Republican representative.. of course, ours have a tendency to want to raise our property taxes.. Hey, Pezold.. ya' listening?

Just remembering at how the CWW spent our money on the RiverCenter "Viagra Falls" sculpture, the CWW should make a better effort at BEING a good neighbor..
One of the ways could be keeping up with the amount of water we're billed for. Many bills are for set minimum usage (you pay a certain amount whether you use that much or not in a given month). How about the CWW keep a rolling record of the amounts we pay for that we didn't use, and give us that back in credits when the summer months get here and we start watering our lawns (which don't use the sewage system which is based on how much water goes through the meter).

From the "mainscream media will fault Trump even when a makes a clarification statement" department - Online headline/story: ":Trump admits to making up information in meeting with Trudeau * During a fundraising speech in Missouri, Trump recalled contradicting Trudeau, who told him Canada didn’t have a trade deficit with the U.S. — even though he had “no idea” whether that was true. * “I said, ‘You’re wrong, Justin.’ He said, ‘Nope, we have no trade deficit.’ I said, ‘Well, in that case, I feel differently,’ I said, ‘but I don’t believe it.’ I sent one of our guys out, his guy, my guy, they went out, I said, ‘Check, because I can’t believe it,'" Trump said. * ‘Well, sir, you’re actually right. We have no deficit, but that doesn’t include energy and timber. … And when you do, we lose $17 billion a year.’ It’s incredible,” Trump went on to say." -- Good grief.. whether it's technically "considered" a trade deficit or not.. being on the short end of a money exchange IS a trade deficit.. Of course, the WaPo still believes Hellary never lies... and hers are intentional and never corrected.

You know, Katy Perry once had a event here in Columbus.. she was a lead-in singer at Columbus' own Bebo Norman Christian Concert..Here is how she looked before her "transition" to the other side..

L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS * Council approves $500,000 to fix leaky swimming pools * City Manager Isaiah Hugley said the Parks and Recreation Department doesn’t have a funding source for the repairs. So he would look at the Parks and Rec budget to see if a portion of the money could come through salary savings. If not, the $500,000 would have to come out of the city’s fund balance." -- Pools will be Mayor Tom-LYING-son's true legacy... like all other ideas she she initiated to drain our fund balance.. they don't hold water either.

The NFL boycott worked... just saw an article where Free Agent Kirk Cousins is signing a 3-year, guaranteed $84-Million contract.. I don't know who Kirk Cousins is.. I don't even know what team he played on before signing..
---
Hmmm... there's a new "sculpture" at the Columbus Water Works facility at the corner of Veterans and 14th Streets.. sorta anchoring the Dragonfly Trail at that point.. I remember the last time the CWW "erected" a sculpture.. the one across from the RiverCenter.. The public was furious.. nor only at the design, but that the CWW paid for it from profits from billing us.. and someone "donated" it's cost.. Now.. who paid for the new one..

Mercedes claims it is the first luxury maker of a pickup truck.. Cadillac and Lincoln probably disagree on that, but I';ll ask Mercedes the same question I asked Cadillac and Lincoln.. Why?

From the "really?" department - Online story: "Police say a teacher in California accidentally fired his gun in a classroom, injuring three students. * It happened Tuesday at Seaside High School as Dennis Alexander was teaching a gun safety lesson for his administration of justice class. * Police say Alexander, who also serves as a reserve police officer, was pointing the gun at the ceiling to make sure it was not loaded when the weapon discharged." -- "also serves as a reserve police officer"? Really? Gimmee a break.. anyone trained in gun safety would not "fire" a gun to see if it was loaded or not.. If this "happened". it was planned.. and went more badly than contemplated.. in other words, a typical liberal program.
---
Online headline: "West Virginia governor fires education secretary, wife of US Sen Joe Manchin" -- There's more to this.. a lot political, but... BUT.. the real kicker is that Gayle Manchin should never have accepted a paid appointed government job while her husband is an elected official.
---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton blames 'pressure' from men for why white women voted for Trump" -- Good grief.. what really happened was women not being comfortable with Hellary being portrayed as "the" role model for women or wives.

Online headline/story: "Winner of a $560 million Powerball jackpot can keep the money and her secret, judge rules * The mysterious winner of a $560 million lottery ticket who fought to keep her identity a secret is allowed to stay anonymous, a judge ruled Monday. * Not much is known about the New Hampshire woman, who won the Powerball jackpot in January and asked a judge to let her stay out of the public eye. The judge last week ruled that the woman could claim her prize money while he considered whether her privacy interests outweighed the state’s lottery rules." -- Some petty liberal judge has just opened the door for future lottery scams. Without public disclosure, any high official ..for that matter, any mechanic involved in the number selection device maintenance, can rig the outcome, and the public will not be able to detect it.

From the "really PO'd" department - My wife has been driving her Acura for two years now... I just learned today that her car does not have a spare tire...it has a air pump and "fix-a-flat" instead. The dealer tried to soft-peddle the situation as one with little downside because she has "roadside service"... that's not comforting considering there are places we go that don't have good cell service and some that have NO cell service. Guess it's about time to get rid of her car...and that dealer.

Chances are that Pocahontas Warren already has done a DNA test, which explains why she says she isn't going to get one...She already knows the results but she's not going to release them..because it either confirms the critics, or it might be more useful as an "October Surprise"in her next re-election bid.

You know... but it's not going to happen, but like Trump has shown in economics, school systems won't improve until a Trump-type Superintendent is appointed to lead our MCSD. There has to be someone who understands that $750,000.00 for a 2,400 square foot metal/slab wresting room is robbery,.. from the taxpayers and from the students/teachers who should be getting the bulk of that assigned money put into the classrooms.
---
This is a picture of a pothole on the street in front of my home.. it's pretty representative of the streets in our neighborhood.. Our HOA announced this week that our streets are rated a "45" , and the City is working on streets rated "30-to-35". You know, if Columbus, GA wants to attract new industry and citizens, the City should not let streets get below a "50" rating. All the bike trails in the City will not matter when prospective employers/employees of new industries scout out the housing market and see the road conditions in our City.

---
From the "the sky is falling: department - L-E headline: "MCSD security director calls for full-time officers, metal detectors at every school" -- Good grief...if someone makes it to a metal detector WITH a gun, he/she will already be in position to cause havoc.
You know. last week I posted a question to all MCSB members and candidates about how many people are employed by the MCSD in its "security department".. I remember a number from a few years back that stunned me because the money would be better spent with video/audio security systems connected to the CPD... not one has responded with a number.. One did say he would look and get back with me, but that has happened.

From the "wonder no more" department - Online story: "Several news outlets in Savannah report that Vice President Mike Pence will participate in the St. Patrick’s Day parade and celebration on Saturday. * He won’t be the only politician attending. Virtually every statewide name on the GOP and Democratic primary ballots will be on hand, too." -- And you wondered how bills get passed allowing drive through windows at liquor stores, and Sunday openings for liquor stores..

It has already been ascertained that the garbage truck on the AMTRAK rails at the road/RR crossing had to enter the intersection AFTER the warning gates went down, and considering the 3 men were determined to get themselves killed as well because they did not leave the cab, why haven't we seen a full-fledged terrorism investigation?

From the "the felons have already learned" department - L-E headline/story: "Man charged in shooting death of robbery accomplice at Lucky Food Mart * A man allegedly killed his friend outside of a Floyd Road food mart Feb. 9 after a gun fell into his lap during an armed robbery attempt, according to testimony Tuesday in Columbus Recorder’s Court.
* T**** T**** Jr., the 19-year-old who was also shot during the incident, pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault. He was ordered held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail." -- You know.. after the series of "jury fails" at convicting killers in our local courts, felons have learned that it will behoove them to plead "NOT GUILTY" versus getting a plea bargain deal with the DA's Office..
---
From the "sacrilege " department - L-E headline/story: "Sidewalk, parking closed on part of 12th Street * If you are waiting for the sidewalk and parking places along the south side of 12th Street between Broadway and First Avenue next to the downtown CB&T building to reopen, don’t hold your breath." -- "CB&T Building"? Good grief.. it looks like Chuck has crossed the line since Synovus has renamed itself and dropped its "CB&T" identity.
---
From the "just cannot resist responding to this headline" department - L-E commentary headline: "How do we handle the facts-challenged among us? * BY LEONARD PITTS JR. *

Can you believe there was a contested moment over who would get the remains of Charles Manson.. his grandson, his son, and a prison "pen pal" (hmmm.. a lot of ambiguity could be read into this phrase) fought over the remains.. The grandson was finally "awarded" such.. Me, I'd have ordered the ashed be flushed down into a septic tank... a more proper final resting place.

What is the NCAA "thinking"? Again this year.. teams are "playing in" for the 11th seeds in 2 of the brackets.. this means that 2 brackets gave slots to 12th - 16th teams, and are making 2 teams --supposedly of equal strength - win to be the 11th seeds and the other 2 teams just go home when they should at least be the 12th seed of their bracket.

Online headline: "House GOP: Investigation found no evidence of Russia-Trump collusion" -- As Gilda Radner might respond in one of her SNL skits. "And that's the truth."
---
DIMocrats seemingly have a one-track focus for regaining the majority in the House.. to impeach Trump... DIMs are not interested in the economy.. local or national nor in creating jobs.. just impeaching Trump.. seems the DIMs are flabbergasted at Trump's unverified description of some 3r world countries under despotic rulers.. You know, I think the DIMs just want revenge for the Republican House impeaching Slick Willie back in the 90s.. of course there is a big difference.. Republicans impeached Clinton for lying, and the DIMs want to impeach Trump for telling the truth.
---
Online headline: "Jared Kushner’s brother gave $50,000 to 'March For Our Lives'" -- Hmmm.. and why would mainscream media be interested in what Trump's daughter's brother-in-law does, when it cared less that one of Joe Biden's son's was cheating on his wife/family with his widowed sister-in-law.
---
From the "poetic justice" department - A Virginia woman tried to make an example her hatred for semi-automatic rifles so she videoed herself taking a chainsaw to her husbands AR 15. Now..correctly... she's being investigated for "illegally shortening' a rifle barrel.. see, we do have plenty of gun laws already on the books, and we just have to enforce them better.
---
You know...DIMocrats are making a big deal about the special election on PA being the beginning of a tsunami of "red" winning back the House.. you know... the DIMs said this before Ossoff lost big (and lost a lot of DIMocrat money) in GA's District 6 Special Election, and we can only surmise what the DIM's response will be following a Saccone victory in PA today.
---
A news anchor did a story on "Are the DIMocrats out of touch with American values?" .. That's not the real problem.. the problem is "Are DIMocrat voters out of touch with reality?" No longer are DIMocrat voters concerned with the future of America's growth or opportunities.. DIM voters are only interested in "What's in it for me?". JFK, who said "Ask not what your country can do for you" in his inaugural speech, is rolling over in his grave.

L-E headline/story: "Valedictorian willing to take risk in Harris County protest * Students in Harris County will be allowed to participate in the National School Walkout * (Principal Todd) Stanfill, in a phone interview with the Ledger-Enquirer, explained the administration’s rationale.
“We want our kids to learn about things and understand things outside of Harris County and have an appreciation for it, and we want them to learn how to do things in the right way. … We try really hard to build relationships with our students, and they trust we will allow them to express their feelings in the right way.” -- You know.. what this "walkout" really boils down to is kids being politically manipulated by adults and being rewarded with an "authorized Cut".. which basically voids the point...
---
L-E headline/story: "Third murder suspect wanted in Wickham Drive shooting * A third murder suspect is wanted in the Jan. 24 shooting on Wickham Drive that killed one woman and injured two other people, authorities said Monday morning in a news release. * Herk James Ellis, 32, is wanted on a murder charge stemming from the shooting that killed 24-year-old Lashay Ford. He was described as a 5-foot-6 black man who weighs 170 pounds.
* Officials said Ellis has ties to Columbus, Eufaula, Ala., and New York City. * “We are asking everyone to please use extreme caution as Ellis is considered armed and dangerous,” -- Good grief.. if the killer can read, then he ought just turn himself in and demand a jury trial.. like in so many recent cases, a "jury fail" will exonerate him, and put him back the streets with this killing blotted from his "yellow sheet".
---
L-E story: "In an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday night, DeVos said years of federal investment in public education had produced “zero results” and that American schools were stagnating and failing many students. But asked by CBS’ Lesley Stahl whether she had visited low-performing schools to understand their needs, DeVos, a proponent of school choice, admitted to having visited none. * “I have not intentionally visited schools that are underperforming,” DeVos said. * “Maybe you should,” Stahl said.
* “Maybe I should,” De-Vos said." -- You know.. visiting one.. or even a 100 "low-performing schools" will have zero impact on solving the problems.. schools are not the problem.. POLICIES of the PAST carried into TODAY are the problem, and most of the problems began following the politicizing of school systems when Boards became elected, not locally appointed.
---
L-E story: "The pornographic film actress who says she had an affair with President Donald Trump offered on Monday to return $130,000 she received from Trump’s personal attorney in 2016 for agreeing not to discuss the alleged relationship." -- Good grief.. just like with naming "David Dennison" in her lawsuit, offering to return the money is just another effort by her attorneys to get a response that actually connects her story with Trump... otherwise. she and her attorneys are just spitting into the wind.
---
L-E guest commentary headline: "Colleges’ first obligation is to safety * BY DAN K. THOMASSON * Tribune News Service * WASHINGTON" -- Good grief.. then colleges have already failed.. Colleges first obligation should be to operate an environment that stretches the minds of students so they can deal with the future .. and the past... as it is, colleges inoculate them from the truth by limiting 1st Amendment Rights for all the students, and by nanny-ism moves like "safe spaces".

L-E headline: "PRESIDENTS CUP * Woods, Els chosen as captains" -- Good choices!

In what can only be described as a combination of oxymoronic and ironic travesty, the DIMocrats sent out Maxine Waters to attack the Republican statement closing it's investigation into the Russia-Trump collusion issue.. We sorta knew what was coming, but to hear Maxine Waters say, "Who can believe Nunes" makes even Hank Johnson's statement that the island of Guam would tip over if the US moved ALL its armaments onto the US base there seem logical... well almost logical..

Online headline: "Bernie Sanders will not endorse Sen. Dianne Feinstein in California primary" - Interesting... let's look closer at the ramifications...Since Diane Feinstein is THE "new gun law advocate" when anybody (well, except for people on the streets of Shicago... or police officers) gets shot, this sorta makes Bernie pro-2nd Amendment,, how's this gonna fly in Bernie-ville?

Did you hear? At the end of February, there were 155,000,000 EMPLOYED Americans... the HIGHEST number EVER of Americans working.. Trump 2020!

Online headline/story: "ABC News star Joy Behar: Hanging with Farrakhan 'baggage'; talking to Jesus 'mental illness' * Apparently, ABC News star Joy Behar thinks it’s okay to talk to anti-Semitic figures, but not to Jesus. * Behar and former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett sparked outrage on Friday on "The View" when they defended Women’s March co-founder Tamika Mallory, who has been criticized for her ties to bigoted anti-Jewish Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. * This time, Behar asked if Mallory is being scrutinized for “guilt by association” because she attended an event where Farrakhan mocked both white and Jewish people while predicting their demise. * Behar attempted to defend Mallory, who has said the Nation of Islam supported her after the death of her son’s father 17 years ago. * “She has a personal relationship,” Behar said. * (In a response) Meghan McCain said, "“Louis Farrakhan said, ‘Hitler was a very great man. “This is black and white. It’s very simple: You think Hitler is a great man, don’t associate with that person… there should be no normalizing of this one way or the other.” -- Hey DISNEY.. this is FIRING situation.., not wrist-slapping stuff!

From the "the sure way to eliminate most crimes in your city" department - Online story: "In Kennesaw, Georgia, residents are technically required to own a gun because of a local law, according to CNN. * The controversial law says, “every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm.” -- Brilliant! Basically, every head-of-household must pass a FBI background check, and if the applicant has a record that bars gun ownership, he/she cannot reside in or move to Kennesaw. And technically, any head-of-household could get kicked out of town if convicted of a felony. Just imagine.. your kids can walk the streets of your neighborhood and go to school in safety.

Whoa! Did you hear that the GOP Jewish Coalition has demanded that 7 DIMocrats with ties to Louis Farrakhan resign based on their association with him? The list names Keith Ellison, Barbara Lee, Maxine Waters, Danny Davis, Andre Carson, Gregory Meeks, and Al Green. The demand comes after a recent speech Farrakhan gave for Nation of Islam’s Saviour’s Day surfaced in which he reportedly said Jewish people quote “are my enemy.” After some gusty hem-hawing, Representative Meeks has responded calling Farrakhan’s anti-semitic messages “upsetting & unacceptable” with Representative Davis condemning Farrakhan’s statements but also telling The Daily Caller he thinks he’s an “outstanding human being.” Then, a spokesman for Representative Ellison, the deputy director the DNC, telling Fox News said Ellison’s “repeatedly disavowed anti-Semitism and bigotry, since his first campaign for Congress in 2006.” Ellison is the first Muslim member of Congress." -- Shades of the KKK lifestyle of the late Senator Byrd of West Virginia.. I'm going to be looking for Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to issue a death warrant on Keith Ellison.. for denying his Muslim faith... no practicing Muslim can be pro-Jewish!

Looks like Zeph Baker is back.. another attempt at the Mayor's seat..also add Winfred Shipman in the Mayoral race. Council Post 10 just added Amy Askew Bryan, executive vice president for the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce. Even though she's been cleared Legally" of conflict.. I'm not sure it's legal for a taxpayer funded individual to keep her existing job while she runs.. Skip Henderson and Mike Edmundson both had to resign from theirs. Speaking of MCSB District 2, Sheryl Hobbs McCraine, an employee of AFLAC has jumped into the race..now the District 2 race has one candidate who hasn't been "leashed" by the MCSD.

Last week mentioned how both candidates in the MCSB District 2 race were under the thumb of the MCSD... mentioned Mike Edmundson, who had to resign from his MCSD job to qualify, may have been given his job top stop his activism highlighting the neglect of the MCSD in the Bibb City School property.. He wrote me that "I was hired before the Bibb fell through, and while I was working on it. FYI (part-time, if that matters.) Mike Edmondson".. I responded that it really doesn't since the job offer could easily have been to control his activism.. However, I will support Mike Edmundson over Bart Steed.. Steed has a current open-end contract (worth $165,000.00) to fix heating/AC on school buses, and I find that too cozy for him to challenge any wishes of the Superintendent. I also think we need open discussion about janitorial contracts involving any sitting board members/families. I welcome vetting Sheryl McCraine into the mix for District 2...

From the "another jury fail" department - L-E headline/story: "Verdict reached in home invasion case where victim was shot with his own gun * A jury has found a Columbus man not guilty for his alleged role in a scheme that left a 24-year-old man brain-damaged from being shot with his own gun. * Dewayne Vidal Searcy Jr., 24, is not guilty of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, burglary, and using a gun to commit a felony." -- No wonder there are no standards for safety on the streets of Columbus... Juries no longer set standards for criminal behavior.. We are having a tsunami of criminals released back into our community because juries believe they ARE "the judge and the law". not the guardian of the law. I tell you what, if I was a police officer, I would consider a change of profession.. how long can we expect our law enforcement personnel to stay dedicated when they see dangerous people, whom they endangered themselves to get off the street, being returned wrongly to the street.

Heard an anchor describe Trump's "tariff" order as " breaking from his party"...You know, the Republican party..in fact both of them, putting their own agenda ahead of America's best interest, has been a strain on America's progress since.... well ...forever. Online headline/story: "Georgia Legislature Considers Need-Based College Scholarships * Georgia’s lottery-funded HOPE program, first awarded in 1993, is merit-based. That means students have to meet certain academic requirements to receive scholarships and grants. Lawmakers tightened the standards in 2011 for the HOPE scholarship to keep the program solvent. Despite record profits, the lottery couldn’t keep up with massive demand for the program. * The proposed need-based program would have minimal academic requirements. It would also be limited to students from families who earn $48,000 a year or less." -- "limited to students from families who earn $48,000 a year or less"? Wait a minute.. the lottery was passed because it would benefit all students who applied themselves. regardless of family income.. if the legislature wants to steal this away from as many students as it will effect, then we Georgians need to vote on it... and on whether to continue the lottery.

Online headline/story: "Public hospitals in Ga. could seize your tax refund to pay debt, if this bill passes * Now a new bill moving through the Georgia legislature would allow public hospitals to vacuum up your state tax refund and use it to pay down any unpaid medical debt — all without getting a court order. * The bill is called H.B. 81, and the idea behind it is that rural hospitals, already facing an existential financial crisis, would be able to take greater action to pay down medical debt from patients who are behind on their bills." -- Whoa! Aren't our representatives suppose to represent the people? If this passes, then our representatives need a refresher course on constitutional rights of being a citizen and getting due process.. Oh, and unseating them will give them plenty of time to read and digest it.

L-E headline: "How Piedmont’s dispute with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia impacts Columbus" -- As predicted.. local rates we were use to are going to be billed at the rates hospitals in Atlanta have been using...

What's worse.. even if Council doesn't renegotiate the property tax contract it had with Columbus Regional to stop it, the amount contracted for will not go near as far in taking care of indigent healthcare needs under the Atlanta based rates.

Heard an anchor describe Trump's "tariff" order as " breaking from his party"...You know, the Republican party..in fact both of them, putting their own agenda ahead of America's best interest, has been a strain on America's progress since.... well ...forever. I appreciate a man who makes good decisions ....decisions based on best info available at the time.

From the "Funny, this doesn't sound like the message we are getting from the NAACP, Black Lives Matter, Nation of Islam, or the Congressional Black Caucus" department - Inspirational quote: "“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.” ― Martin Luther King, Jr. " -- A simple test of your humanity and brotherhood is to decide whether you like what Dr King said, or what activist groups are preaching...

L-E commentary headline: "Populist victory in Italy’s election has lessons for US" -- Yeah..the losers blamed the the Russians!

Qualifying for local Columbus offices ended Friday...a lot of new names have stepped forward but I really missed not seeing former Sheriff John Darr put his name into the Mayor's race.

The NRA is right, absolutely right, in stepping up to challenge Florida's new law raising the age to 21 to buy guns.. the 2nd Amendment insists that the right to own and bear arms shall not be infringed, and yet our military openly arms 18 year olds, and some police departments only require applicants to be 18.

Have you noticed the difference in Trump's Press spokespersons versus Obama's? Trump's only have to reinforce what Trump said, while Obama's always had to "spin" whatever Obama said.

When you think about it, it's pretty pathetic that the best DIMocrat that can be sent to rally the base at special Congressional election in Pennsylvania is Joe Biden.

I'm tickled that Tiger is back on tour and playing well again, buy it's irritating that the the media and announcers are hailing him like he's gonna save the PGA. The PGA is doing quite well in spite of Tiger's lengthy sabbatical. I too wish him well, and wish him newfound success, but I do wish the media would wait for Tiger to earn his way back before re-deifying him.

From the "something we can all agree on" department - Online headline/story: "Pelosi: Democratic Caucus divide ahead of primaries is 'exhilarating' * “Welcome to the Democratic Party,” the California Democrat said Thursday, when asked whether a lack of party unity could help Republicans. * “It is the most exhilarating thrill to be a leader in a party that has that kind of diversity of opinion. It’s our strength. We’re not a rubber stamp * It certainly can work to our advantage. So I don’t see it as an obstacle.” -- Hmmm... not only did Pelosi NOT read the OObamaCRAP Bill, it's obvious she cannot read the writing on the wall.

Egos are tough.. especially when parents cave in to theirs to bring in a wolf-hybrid "dog" into their family. In Virginia, one of theses wolf-hybrid "dogs" attacked .. and killed an 8-day old baby in it's bassinet. The beast was 'put down', but Virginia is in a quandary about the couples other two children still in their care.. the couple has two other dogs (not described) as well.

L-E headline/story: "Gun background check system riddled with flaws * The problem with the legislation, experts say, is that it only works if federal agencies, the military, states, courts and local law enforcement do a better job of sharing information with the background check system" -- Well, as President Reagan was apt to say, here liberals go again...blaming everything on he military and law enforcement.. What libs don't admit is that liberals insistence on "political correctness" is the root cause.. juvy crime and school records are sealed and ignored... medical personnel are not allowed to be entered into the "system", and neither are voters' names who vote for DIMocrat politicians.

The movie, " A Wrinkle in Time" is out.. my daughter took her daughter to see it, then had to run home and look up what went on because she was not able to explain it to her daughter. I sent her this online story: "'A Wrinkle in Time' ditches the book's explicit Christian references — and the movie really suffers because of it" * Disney's big-budget adaptation of the best-selling novel "A Wrinkle in Time" falters in many of the same ways the book does— but there was one major change made in the movie from the novel. The film's version of events strips away explicit mention of God or religion, instead trimming down the central conflict to one between "evil" and "light."

You know.. Disney is not the same company it once was...movies use to be charming entertainment, but now must relay a message... a message more often than not portrays alt-lifestyles as preferable to reality.

Online headline: "Report: Hillary Clinton concerned on Trump administration's ability to handle talks with Kim Jong-un" -- Good grief..and I'm more than concerned about Hellary being able to handle, recognize or speak the truth... or her husband.

So far, Shicago has had only 91 homicides his year.. Only? Well when you consider that Shicago has 2,700,000 people, that's only 9 homicide per 270,000 people.. or, for perspective comparison, that's about , percentage wise, the same as 8 per the 200,000 homocide ratio we have here in Columbus so far this year.

And how about the picture in this story ( http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/03/11/as-bullets-fly-chicago-police-boss-blasts-civilian-oversight-plans.html ).. it protests a 17 year old shot by a Shicago policeman performing his duties. Well, in 2017.. when there were 625 gun related street deaths (and a total of 3,361 shot on the streets of Shicago), only 11 were killed and only another 12 wounded by the police force.. the balance were inflicted by Shicago street thugs.

L-R headline: "The Muscogee County Jail is ‘the place that many mentally ill people end up’" -- Hmmm.. I guess when you figure that jail is a consequence when you commit a crime.. and you do it anyway.. yes that is a mental illness.. but of course, when "innocents" on the streets are faced with making choices, and they read in the L-E if they go to trial, that a "failed jury" will probably find them "not guilty" or if they get "time".. they'll be out soon enough by liberal policies, what's the incentive not to commit the crime?

L-E commentary - headline/content: "COMMENTARY * Young actors teach novice on stage * One thing you quickly learn about theater is words matter. * Words formulate lines, lines formulate a scene and that scene, connected to other scenes and other words, helps formulate a story. * For the past month, I have been part of the cast of the Springer Children’s Theater production of “Jackie & Me,” the story of a kid with special powers who goes back to 1947 when Jackie Robinson broke baseball’s color barrier and became the first black major league ballplayer for the Brooklyn Dodgers. * Some of the words in the play are powerful — and even taboo in today’s world. But they matter in ways that draw a strong reaction." -- Hmmm... oh.. it's "OK" if the n-word is used in a play to make a point about the past, yet is taboo if a teacher uses it in a classroom to make a point about the past... go figure... oh.. and at the same time, the rap culture throws about "taboo" like confetti at a DIMocrat Convention... go figure that, too.

From the "you gotta be kidding" department - Columbus Council Agenda item: "An ordinance rezoning approximately .1600 acre at 1052 Center St. The current zoning is NC (Neighborhood Commercial) zoning district. The proposed zoning is RMF1 (Residential Multifamily 1) zoning district. The proposed use is Single Family Residential. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommend approval. Applicant: Donald Johnston (Woodson)" -- If you look this up in the tax data base, it's a "sail" shaped wedge lot.. of .16 acres (only 7,744 square feet).. and by time you consider the building restrictions and "rights-of-way, what can be built on that property that won't resemble a cell phone tower?

L-E commentary headline/content: "Why tariffs hurt our economy, but are ‘steel’ used by politicians * BY JOHN A. TURES * Correspondent * Tariffs, another name for taxes on trade, are a favorite tool of politicians to get some extra revenue, whip up some economic nationalist sentiment and provide the promise of “protecting” American business. " -- Good grief..of course the "opinionator" is only an ASSOCIATE professor.. in political science at that...of course he sees what liberals see.. Trump is not trying to "raise taxes", but even out the playing field that has led to countries dumping too low priced commodities into our country at the expense of American businesses.. and jobs.. to manufacture those IN America.. Too much of the "low, dumping prices" are because of foreign wages that are way below ours and contribute to other countries poverty issues.

From the "hey Synovus.. ya missed one" department - a fellow BCer noticed this Synovus Bank signage downtown.. at the main branch, no less:

Columbus Council Agenda:

A resolution requesting that the local legislative delegation to the Georgia General Assembly oppose Senate Bill 418 and counterpart House Bill 948 in the 2018 Session. (Councilor Glenn Davis) -- Hmmm.. at best, it looks like this bill will keep Columbus officials from telling small businesses what they can/can't sell at the Broadweay Market... I do believe more "splainin" is in order.. especially since "the Dean of the House", Calvin Smyre is co-sponsoring the House version. Oh.peaking of Calvin Smyre, hey Ledger-Enquirer, how's that research going on Jehmu Greene's "#metoo" claim against Rep Smyre?

A resolution requesting that the local legislative delegation to the Georgia General Assembly oppose Section 5(b) of House Bill 144 in the 2018 Session. (Davis) -- Hmmm.. just curious as to why the City would be anti-business.. if a business is licensed by the state to be able to legally be engaged in something, why is the City trying top stop such?

I see Jim Thorson has an opportunity to point out how bad relaxing the new "open container" policies will be.. We gotcha back, Jim!

An ordinance rezoning approximately .1600 acre at 1052 Center St. The current zoning is NC (Neighborhood Commercial) zoning district. The proposed zoning is RMF1 (Residential Multifamily 1) zoning district. The proposed use is Single Family Residential. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommend approval. Applicant: Donald Johnston (Woodson) -- Hmm.. you know, the property involved is a "sail shaped" (wedge/pie) piece, and only has 7,744 square feet.. and that's before building restrictions about neighbor and utility easements.. I can only imagine a cell tower type "residence" being an option...I do believe somebody on Council.. maybe even the Planning Department, should visit that property before voting to rezone it.

Online headline/story: "Warren: No to White House bid, DNA test; says heritage 'part of who I am' * When asked Sunday whether she’d agree to calls for genetic testing to resolve the heritage controversy, Warren launched into a family history, as purportedly told by her parents and grandparents, before saying, “It’s a part of who I am, and no one’s ever going to take that away.” * Warren, who is seeking a second Senate term this year, has been accused of saying she is of Native American heritage to help in securing jobs, including one as a Harvard law professor. * She has acknowledged identifying as a minority, but denies using such status to help advance her career. * I know who I am because of what my mother and my father told me, what my grandmother and my grandfather told me, what all my aunts and uncles told me and my brothers.”" -- You know, how can she claim that by claiming unvetted stature as a minority in order to get a "hiring advantage" that she didn't do so to "advance her career"? Oh, and if she believes she is was she is because her parents and grandparents "told" her so, I guess my family better stop calling my granddaughter "Princess"...

Bernie held a rally in Phoenix, Arizona...wanna bet he didn't hire off-duty ICE agents for security.

A coffee shop in Oakland gas announced it will not serve coffee to uniformed police..I think ICE should park a car and several agents outside the front door.

The PGA has no spine... for generations, golf courses have maintained dress standards which include collared shirts for men. Now, for this and the past 2 seasons, the Swoop has dressed it's stable of players in collarless .. basically henley t-shirts.

From the "we already had a law covering this.. so what's a new one going to do" department - Online story: "A man in the country illegally has been charged with a federal crime after two gun scares, including one involving an AR-15-styled rifle equipped with a scope and bump stock outside a downtown Indianapolis hotel on the day of the Women's March with thousands of attendees. * Ahmed Alaklouk, described in federal court documents as a Tunisian native and Saudi Arabian citizen, has been living in Indiana on a terminated student visa. Federal law prohibits someone in the country illegally from possessing guns or ammo, but court records say police found him with weapons on two occasions in January." -- Hmmm.. and Tunisa is 99% Sunni Muslim

Online headline: "Putin is getting slammed for saying Jews might have interfered in the US election" -- Well, only if fewer voted for Hellary as she counted on...

Joe Biden was "captured" talking with a :homeless man in Washington, DC last Thursday evening after taking his grandchildren to a movie.. mainscream media is gushing over his spontaneous concern.. Funny, it looked more like he was asking if the guy was registered to vote. The funny thing is, how come Biden was captured alone when accompanied by his grandchildren and Secret Service entourage.... unless it was a "staged photo-op"?

You know.. I'm not near as concerned about the "low IQ" label placed on California DIMocrat Maxine Waters as I am about the "lower IQ" of California voters who keep returning her to Washington.

L-E headline: "What retail stores and restaurants would you like to see next in the Columbus market?" -- Hmmm... you know..with Kmart, Sears, hhgregg, Circuit City et al being "memories", and the impending doom of Penny's and Toys-r-Us, the better question to ask, is "What retail stores and restaurants would you like to stay in the Columbus market?"

L-E headline: "Flake calls for GOP challenge of Trump in primary" -- Oooops, my bad.. I thought is was about some flake mainscream media anchor...

L-E headline: "TOOMER’S CORNER * Auburn is home to country’s top sports tradition, voters say" -- You know.. I've never tossed a roll of toilet paper into a tree as a sign of "tradition"... but if I were an Auburn alumnus/fan, I'd want to think that the pre-game flight of the "War Eagle" was what my school is famous for...
