Online headline: "Bernie Sanders will not endorse Sen. Dianne Feinstein in California primary" - Interesting... let's look closer at the ramifications...Since Diane Feinstein is THE "new gun law advocate" when anybody (well, except for people on the streets of Shicago... or police officers) gets shot, this sorta makes Bernie pro-2nd Amendment,, how's this gonna fly in Bernie-ville?

Did you hear? At the end of February, there were 155,000,000 EMPLOYED Americans... the HIGHEST number EVER of Americans working.. Trump 2020!

Online headline/story: "ABC News star Joy Behar: Hanging with Farrakhan 'baggage'; talking to Jesus 'mental illness' * Apparently, ABC News star Joy Behar thinks it’s okay to talk to anti-Semitic figures, but not to Jesus. * Behar and former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett sparked outrage on Friday on "The View" when they defended Women’s March co-founder Tamika Mallory, who has been criticized for her ties to bigoted anti-Jewish Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. * This time, Behar asked if Mallory is being scrutinized for “guilt by association” because she attended an event where Farrakhan mocked both white and Jewish people while predicting their demise. * Behar attempted to defend Mallory, who has said the Nation of Islam supported her after the death of her son’s father 17 years ago. * “She has a personal relationship,” Behar said. * (In a response) Meghan McCain said, "“Louis Farrakhan said, ‘Hitler was a very great man. “This is black and white. It’s very simple: You think Hitler is a great man, don’t associate with that person… there should be no normalizing of this one way or the other.” -- Hey DISNEY.. this is FIRING situation.., not wrist-slapping stuff!

From the "the sure way to eliminate most crimes in your city" department - Online story: "In Kennesaw, Georgia, residents are technically required to own a gun because of a local law, according to CNN. * The controversial law says, “every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm.” -- Brilliant! Basically, every head-of-household must pass a FBI background check, and if the applicant has a record that bars gun ownership, he/she cannot reside in or move to Kennesaw. And technically, any head-of-household could get kicked out of town if convicted of a felony. Just imagine.. your kids can walk the streets of your neighborhood and go to school in safety.

Whoa! Did you hear that the GOP Jewish Coalition has demanded that 7 DIMocrats with ties to Louis Farrakhan resign based on their association with him? The list names Keith Ellison, Barbara Lee, Maxine Waters, Danny Davis, Andre Carson, Gregory Meeks, and Al Green. The demand comes after a recent speech Farrakhan gave for Nation of Islam’s Saviour’s Day surfaced in which he reportedly said Jewish people quote “are my enemy.” After some gusty hem-hawing, Representative Meeks has responded calling Farrakhan’s anti-semitic messages “upsetting & unacceptable” with Representative Davis condemning Farrakhan’s statements but also telling The Daily Caller he thinks he’s an “outstanding human being.” Then, a spokesman for Representative Ellison, the deputy director the DNC, telling Fox News said Ellison’s “repeatedly disavowed anti-Semitism and bigotry, since his first campaign for Congress in 2006.” Ellison is the first Muslim member of Congress." -- Shades of the KKK lifestyle of the late Senator Byrd of West Virginia.. I'm going to be looking for Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to issue a death warrant on Keith Ellison.. for denying his Muslim faith... no practicing Muslim can be pro-Jewish!

Looks like Zeph Baker is back.. another attempt at the Mayor's seat..also add Winfred Shipman in the Mayoral race. Council Post 10 just added Amy Askew Bryan, executive vice president for the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce. Even though she's been cleared Legally" of conflict.. I'm not sure it's legal for a taxpayer funded individual to keep her existing job while she runs.. Skip Henderson and Mike Edmundson both had to resign from theirs. Speaking of MCSB District 2, Sheryl Hobbs McCraine, an employee of AFLAC has jumped into the race..now the District 2 race has one candidate who hasn't been "leashed" by the MCSD.

Last week mentioned how both candidates in the MCSB District 2 race were under the thumb of the MCSD... mentioned Mike Edmundson, who had to resign from his MCSD job to qualify, may have been given his job top stop his activism highlighting the neglect of the MCSD in the Bibb City School property.. He wrote me that "I was hired before the Bibb fell through, and while I was working on it. FYI (part-time, if that matters.) Mike Edmondson".. I responded that it really doesn't since the job offer could easily have been to control his activism.. However, I will support Mike Edmundson over Bart Steed.. Steed has a current open-end contract (worth $165,000.00) to fix heating/AC on school buses, and I find that too cozy for him to challenge any wishes of the Superintendent. I also think we need open discussion about janitorial contracts involving any sitting board members/families. I welcome vetting Sheryl McCraine into the mix for District 2...

From the "another jury fail" department - L-E headline/story: "Verdict reached in home invasion case where victim was shot with his own gun * A jury has found a Columbus man not guilty for his alleged role in a scheme that left a 24-year-old man brain-damaged from being shot with his own gun. * Dewayne Vidal Searcy Jr., 24, is not guilty of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, burglary, and using a gun to commit a felony." -- No wonder there are no standards for safety on the streets of Columbus... Juries no longer set standards for criminal behavior.. We are having a tsunami of criminals released back into our community because juries believe they ARE "the judge and the law". not the guardian of the law. I tell you what, if I was a police officer, I would consider a change of profession.. how long can we expect our law enforcement personnel to stay dedicated when they see dangerous people, whom they endangered themselves to get off the street, being returned wrongly to the street.

Wait a minute.. how does a judge.. or panel of judges .. not break out laughing when lawyers tell them they wants the judge/judges to commute their clients sentence because he's guilty rather than appeal it.. again.. on the claims their client was not guilty... That means students have to meet certain academic requirements to receive scholarships and grants. Lawmakers tightened the standards in 2011 for the HOPE scholarship to keep the program solvent. Despite record profits, the lottery couldn’t keep up with massive demand for the program. * The proposed need-based program would have minimal academic requirements. It would also be limited to students from families who earn $48,000 a year or less." -- "limited to students from families who earn $48,000 a year or less"? Wait a minute.. the lottery was passed because it would benefit all students who applied themselves. regardless of family income.. if the legislature wants to steal this away from as many students as it will effect, then we Georgians need to vote on it... and on whether to continue the lottery.

Online headline/story: "Public hospitals in Ga. could seize your tax refund to pay debt, if this bill passes * Now a new bill moving through the Georgia legislature would allow public hospitals to vacuum up your state tax refund and use it to pay down any unpaid medical debt — all without getting a court order. * The bill is called H.B. 81, and the idea behind it is that rural hospitals, already facing an existential financial crisis, would be able to take greater action to pay down medical debt from patients who are behind on their bills." -- Whoa! Aren't our representatives suppose to represent the people? If this passes, then our representatives need a refresher course on constitutional rights of being a citizen and getting due process.. Oh, and unseating them will give them plenty of time to read and digest it.

Qualifying for local Columbus offices ended Friday...a lot of new names have stepped forward but I really missed not seeing former Sheriff John Darr put his name into the Mayor's race.

The NRA is right, absolutely right, in stepping up to challenge Florida's new law raising the age to 21 to buy guns.. the 2nd Amendment insists that the right to own and bear arms shall not be infringed, and yet our military openly arms 18 year olds, and some police departments only require applicants to be 18.

Have you noticed the difference in Trump's Press spokespersons versus Obama's? Trump's only have to reinforce what Trump said, while Obama's always had to "spin" whatever Obama said.

When you think about it, it's pretty pathetic that the best DIMocrat that can be sent to rally the base at special Congressional election in Pennsylvania is Joe Biden.

I'm tickled that Tiger is back on tour and playing well again, buy it's irritating that the the media and announcers are hailing him like he's gonna save the PGA. The PGA is doing quite well in spite of Tiger's lengthy sabbatical. I too wish him well, and wish him newfound success, but I do wish the media would wait for Tiger to earn his way back before re-deifying him.

Egos are tough.. especially when parents cave in to theirs to bring in a wolf-hybrid "dog" into their family. In Virginia, one of theses wolf-hybrid "dogs" attacked .. and killed an 8-day old baby in it's bassinet. The beast was 'put down', but Virginia is in a quandary about the couples other two children still in their care.. the couple has two other dogs (not described) as well.

L-E headline/story: "Gun background check system riddled with flaws * The problem with the legislation, experts say, is that it only works if federal agencies, the military, states, courts and local law enforcement do a better job of sharing information with the background check system" -- Well, as President Reagan was apt to say, here liberals go again...blaming everything on he military and law enforcement.. What libs don't admit is that liberals insistence on "political correctness" is the root cause.. juvy crime and school records are sealed and ignored... medical personnel are not allowed to be entered into the "system", and neither are voters' names who vote for DIMocrat politicians.

The movie, " A Wrinkle in Time" is out.. my daughter took her daughter to see it, then had to run home and look up what went on because she was not able to explain it to her daughter. I sent her this online story: "'A Wrinkle in Time' ditches the book's explicit Christian references — and the movie really suffers because of it" * Disney's big-budget adaptation of the best-selling novel "A Wrinkle in Time" falters in many of the same ways the book does— but there was one major change made in the movie from the novel. The film's version of events strips away explicit mention of God or religion, instead trimming down the central conflict to one between "evil" and "light."

You know.. Disney is not the same company it once was...movies use to be charming entertainment, but now must relay a message... a message more often than not portrays alt-lifestyles as preferable to reality.

So far, Shicago has had only 91 homicides his year.. Only? Well when you consider that Shicago has 2,700,000 people, that's only 9 homicide per 270,000 people.. or, for perspective comparison, that's about , percentage wise, the same as 8 per the 200,000 homocide ratio we have here in Columbus so far this year.

And how about the picture in this story ( http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/03/11/as-bullets-fly-chicago-police-boss-blasts-civilian-oversight-plans.html ).. it protests a 17 year old shot by a Shicago policeman performing his duties. Well, in 2017.. when there were 625 gun related street deaths (and a total of 3,361 shot on the streets of Shicago), only 11 were killed and only another 12 wounded by the police force.. the balance were inflicted by Shicago street thugs.

L-R headline: "The Muscogee County Jail is ‘the place that many mentally ill people end up’" -- Hmmm.. I guess when you figure that jail is a consequence when you commit a crime.. and you do it anyway.. yes that is a mental illness.. but of course, when "innocents" on the streets are faced with making choices, and they read in the L-E if they go to trial, that a "failed jury" will probably find them "not guilty" or if they get "time".. they'll be out soon enough by liberal policies, what's the incentive not to commit the crime?

L-E commentary - headline/content: "COMMENTARY * Young actors teach novice on stage * One thing you quickly learn about theater is words matter. * Words formulate lines, lines formulate a scene and that scene, connected to other scenes and other words, helps formulate a story. * For the past month, I have been part of the cast of the Springer Children’s Theater production of “Jackie & Me,” the story of a kid with special powers who goes back to 1947 when Jackie Robinson broke baseball’s color barrier and became the first black major league ballplayer for the Brooklyn Dodgers. * Some of the words in the play are powerful — and even taboo in today’s world. But they matter in ways that draw a strong reaction." -- Hmmm... oh.. it's "OK" if the n-word is used in a play to make a point about the past, yet is taboo if a teacher uses it in a classroom to make a point about the past... go figure... oh.. and at the same time, the rap culture throws about "taboo" like confetti at a DIMocrat Convention... go figure that, too.

From the "you gotta be kidding" department - Columbus Council Agenda item: "An ordinance rezoning approximately .1600 acre at 1052 Center St. The current zoning is NC (Neighborhood Commercial) zoning district. The proposed zoning is RMF1 (Residential Multifamily 1) zoning district. The proposed use is Single Family Residential. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommend approval. Applicant: Donald Johnston (Woodson)" -- If you look this up in the tax data base, it's a "sail" shaped wedge lot.. of .16 acres (only 7,744 square feet).. and by time you consider the building restrictions and "rights-of-way, what can be built on that property that won't resemble a cell phone tower?

L-E commentary headline/content: "Why tariffs hurt our economy, but are ‘steel’ used by politicians * BY JOHN A. TURES * Correspondent * Tariffs, another name for taxes on trade, are a favorite tool of politicians to get some extra revenue, whip up some economic nationalist sentiment and provide the promise of “protecting” American business. " -- Good grief..of course the "opinionator" is only an ASSOCIATE professor.. in political science at that...of course he sees what liberals see.. Trump is not trying to "raise taxes", but even out the playing field that has led to countries dumping too low priced commodities into our country at the expense of American businesses.. and jobs.. to manufacture those IN America.. Too much of the "low, dumping prices" are because of foreign wages that are way below ours and contribute to other countries poverty issues.

Columbus Council Agenda:

A resolution requesting that the local legislative delegation to the Georgia General Assembly oppose Senate Bill 418 and counterpart House Bill 948 in the 2018 Session. (Councilor Glenn Davis) -- Hmmm.. at best, it looks like this bill will keep Columbus officials from telling small businesses what they can/can't sell at the Broadweay Market... I do believe more "splainin" is in order.. especially since "the Dean of the House", Calvin Smyre is co-sponsoring the House version. Oh.peaking of Calvin Smyre, hey Ledger-Enquirer, how's that research going on Jehmu Greene's "#metoo" claim against Rep Smyre?

A resolution requesting that the local legislative delegation to the Georgia General Assembly oppose Section 5(b) of House Bill 144 in the 2018 Session. (Davis) -- Hmmm.. just curious as to why the City would be anti-business.. if a business is licensed by the state to be able to legally be engaged in something, why is the City trying top stop such?

I see Jim Thorson has an opportunity to point out how bad relaxing the new "open container" policies will be.. We gotcha back, Jim!

An ordinance rezoning approximately .1600 acre at 1052 Center St. The current zoning is NC (Neighborhood Commercial) zoning district. The proposed zoning is RMF1 (Residential Multifamily 1) zoning district. The proposed use is Single Family Residential. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommend approval. Applicant: Donald Johnston (Woodson) -- Hmm.. you know, the property involved is a "sail shaped" (wedge/pie) piece, and only has 7,744 square feet.. and that's before building restrictions about neighbor and utility easements.. I can only imagine a cell tower type "residence" being an option...I do believe somebody on Council.. maybe even the Planning Department, should visit that property before voting to rezone it.

Online headline/story: "Warren: No to White House bid, DNA test; says heritage 'part of who I am' * When asked Sunday whether she’d agree to calls for genetic testing to resolve the heritage controversy, Warren launched into a family history, as purportedly told by her parents and grandparents, before saying, “It’s a part of who I am, and no one’s ever going to take that away.” * Warren, who is seeking a second Senate term this year, has been accused of saying she is of Native American heritage to help in securing jobs, including one as a Harvard law professor. * She has acknowledged identifying as a minority, but denies using such status to help advance her career. * I know who I am because of what my mother and my father told me, what my grandmother and my grandfather told me, what all my aunts and uncles told me and my brothers.”" -- You know, how can she claim that by claiming unvetted stature as a minority in order to get a "hiring advantage" that she didn't do so to "advance her career"? Oh, and if she believes she is was she is because her parents and grandparents "told" her so, I guess my family better stop calling my granddaughter "Princess"...

From the "we already had a law covering this.. so what's a new one going to do" department - Online story: "A man in the country illegally has been charged with a federal crime after two gun scares, including one involving an AR-15-styled rifle equipped with a scope and bump stock outside a downtown Indianapolis hotel on the day of the Women's March with thousands of attendees. * Ahmed Alaklouk, described in federal court documents as a Tunisian native and Saudi Arabian citizen, has been living in Indiana on a terminated student visa. Federal law prohibits someone in the country illegally from possessing guns or ammo, but court records say police found him with weapons on two occasions in January." -- Hmmm.. and Tunisa is 99% Sunni Muslim

Joe Biden was "captured" talking with a :homeless man in Washington, DC last Thursday evening after taking his grandchildren to a movie.. mainscream media is gushing over his spontaneous concern.. Funny, it looked more like he was asking if the guy was registered to vote. The funny thing is, how come Biden was captured alone when accompanied by his grandchildren and Secret Service entourage.... unless it was a "staged photo-op"?

L-E headline: "What retail stores and restaurants would you like to see next in the Columbus market?" -- Hmmm... you know..with Kmart, Sears, hhgregg, Circuit City et al being "memories", and the impending doom of Penny's and Toys-r-Us, the better question to ask, is "What retail stores and restaurants would you like to stay in the Columbus market?"
