Online headline: "Couric Confirms She's Leaving 'CBS Evening News' -- Was mentioned weeks ago on CBS but no one heard about it until Fox and People Magazine picked up the story.
---
Online headline: "Obama Says He Wants Oil Producers to Boost Output" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought Emperor Scarlet Obama was asking for higher campaign contributions for 2012.
---
Speaking of 'big oil', let's do away with subsidies to "BIG oil". While we're at it, let's do away with subsidies to farmers growing corn for fuel, and subsidies to public transportation, and foreign aid to countries that don't support us in world wide policing actions, and do away with diplomatic immunity for UN representatives parking ticket fines.

Other than a warpedly interest sighting, I'm not sure what to make of it, but when we were traveling around the state yesterday, my bride was doing about 70 as we approached Atlanta, and she was passed by a "Mater-looking" tow truck pulling a Post Office delivery van.

L-E headline: "CURRY CASE JURY DEADLOCKED; TO RESUME DELIBERATIONS TODAY " -- Guess we should be relieved (though not necessarily grateful) the jury didn't come back in 10 minutes asking to see a legal certificate of the election results than put Slater in the DA's seat.
---
From L-E story: "Curry reported finding the bodies when he got home from work about 5:30 p.m., but under questioning the day of the homicides, he at one point told police he went in his front door “this morning.” He told detectives he unlocked and entered the front door that evening because he saw a yellow circular tucked in the storm door. That flyer was found on the bed in the master bedroom. " -- Lets see, I come home from work, see a 'flyer' stuck on the front door. Take it off, open the door oblivious to the bodies of my family strewn about the house, and lay the flyer on the bed in my bedroom of a 1550 sq ft house. Yeah...that's how I would have reacted....NOT!

Speaking of Chamber membership, the Chamber would be more attractive to small businesses that want to be a part of the Chamber, but not overly active, if the annual membership wasn't so high for such membership; just something for the 'tickle file'.

L-E "soundoff": " Why does the Ledger no longer carry the Walter Williams or Michelle Malkin columns? Were they too conservative for you? " -- Yep, for the same reason the L-E dropped conservative comic strips such as "Shoe", and "Mallard Fillmore", et al.
---
Another L-E "soundoff": "From my power bill, I determined that the cost of electricity has risen 17.5 percent in the past year, therefore, it would be more important than ever to conserve on electricity this summer. " -- No! No! Please don't use less power this summer; GA Power will go to the PSC 'hat in hand' for another increase because people aren't using as much power (like they did this past year) !

The case of Michael Curry brings up a major question: Why does not the prosecution call the defendant to the witness stand on direct? What's the worst that could happen.. the defendant or the Defense lawyer objecting in front of the jury? Why shouldn't the defendant have to at least take the stand and let the jury hear him "plead the 5th" while looking at the jury under oath?

L-E headline/story: "City agrees to drop appeal of lawsuit * A federal jury awarded Hickey $306,000 in December after he sued the city for discrimination. * The city offered to give Hickey $155,000 and to pay $187,000 in legal fees in exchange for dropping its appeal. " -- Excuse me? The city has agreed to pay $342,000.00 and drop its appeal of a $306,000.00 verdict? Sounds like the keeping of another campaign promise of Mayor Mother Teresa Obamalinson, and making sure another lawyer makes out like a bandit.

Ooooh, must have hit a nerve under Brinkley Pounds saddle! I, too, support Habitat for Humanity, but do not want my name appearing in a paid advertisement, reduced cost or not, when the money could be spent in actual service to the goal of the organization. A simple 'thank you' note always works for me.

This will be an oft inclusion of the Breakfast Club: Diane Schneider, a representative with the National Education Association (NEA), said that graphic sex education needs to be taught in the classroom. * "She said that 'gender identity expression' and sexual orientation are a spectrum, and...that those [who are] opposed to homosexuality are stuck -- quote -- 'in a binary box that religion and family create.' -- This should be sent to every teacher in every school district, and they should be asked to either endorse it, demand Ms Schneider be fired, or drop their NEA membership.
