-E "soundoff": "I may wear a hat and gloves to do yard work, but does that me a Master Gardener? Likewise, does a dress code for teachers improve their teaching skills? " -- Obviously from a teacher who is part of the problem. Dress codes/standards help students know who is in authority in all situations, and especially when a situation NEEDS someone in authority the students can turn to for help.

Even in the mid-80's (other than if you were making a purchase for the Consolidated Government of Columbus), a less than $10.00 fan purchase (and for a 6" oscillating one at that) didn't demand comparative shopping trips to multiple outlets. If the sign out board at the Bradley Center indicated Curry's main destination was to K-mart, why did he go to Sears on Macon Road a few blocks away from K-marts, but then drive by K-marts and go to Montgomery-Ward's in Peachtree Mall before doubling back later to hurriedly by a fan at K-marts?

If the anti-gun segment wants to make illegal use of guns an issue to correct such use, then that segment needs to get off its anti-death sentence position when sitting on juries evaluating the sentences of people who kill using legally or illegally obtained guns. A prompt and certain sentence is still the best incentive for one person not to kill another person.
