From the "Dr. Spock... you ruined our nation!" department - Online headline/story: "Border chief directly contradicts Trump on Central America * Trump tweeted, "“Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador are doing nothing for the United States but taking our money,” * “Word is that a new Caravan is forming in Honduras and they are doing nothing about it. We will be cutting off all aid to these 3 countries - taking advantage of U.S. for years!” * McAleenan said, “The need is for an accountable partner on the part of the Guatemalan, Honduran and El Salvadorian governments,” * “When we work together, with well-targeted programs and really targeting them at areas where we’re seeing migration like the Western Highlands of Guatemala where there’s a real poverty and hunger crisis — it’s one of the most food insecure regions in the hemisphere, huge rates of malnutrition.” -- Good grief! When America believed Dr Spock about not spanking "children" has to be the core of LIBERALISM, and liberals have taken it to new heights!

---
From the "Animal Farm - 2018" department - Online headline.story: "Washington (State) residents "are very excited about the prospect of becoming a tree or having a different alternative,” state Sen. Jamie Pedersen said. * When Americans die, most are buried or cremated. Washington could soon become the first state to allow another option: human composting. * The novel approach, known as “recomposition,” involves placing bodies in a vessel and hastening their decomposition into a nutrient-dense soil that can then be returned to families." -- Good grief.. sounds like something Hitler would have been involved with! ...and what kind of "vessel" does the State Sen imagine... a 55 gallon steel drum? If burial cost issues are a reason for suggesting this then families could just "box: the body up, leave it on heir front steps, and let "porch pirates" steal it..

---
Online headline: "Malware attack disrupts delivery of L.A. Times and Tribune papers across the U.S. -- Of course, the general public didn't even notice.

---
I have seen so many ads by Rabbi Eckstein, and now he's added his daughter to the tear-jerking ads about Israeli and Russian survivors of the holocaust, that I decided to check him out...He keeps asking for $25.00 to give food to a starving Jewish holocaust survivor, but it sounds like he wants his money first...he takes over a million dollars (about 40,000 $25.00 donations) for himself, and I'm sure his Vice-President daughter earns quite a chunk herself. And no telling how many donations are diverted from donors to pay for the ad campaign to raise more $25.00 donations.

---
From the " MLK 'Dream' killer" department - Online story: "Organizers of a Women’s March rally slated for Northern California next month have canceled the event, saying they were concerned that participants would have been “overwhelmingly white." * In a news release, organizers for the march in Eureka – about 270 miles north of San Francisco – said Friday the "decision was made after many conversations between local social-change organizers and supporters of the march.” -- To boot, the rally was scheduled for January 19th.. that's MLK Day..and wasn't his "dream" that we'd become a nation where the color of one's skin would not matter? I guess California doesn't want to be part of our nation.

---
Franklin Graham...yes, Billy Graham's son, got banned/blocked by Facebook after being reported for "hate speech"... I feel honored to be in such esteemed company. Oh.. Graham won his "appeal", too.

---
Rudy Giuliani hit the nail on the head! Giuliani said the he'd figured out what Peter Strzok's "insurance" was to keep the FBI "coven" out of trouble.. It was/is Robert Mueller...

---
One other thought about putting 19 year old non-citizens in our public high school system as freshmen amid 14 year olds...where are the #MeToo women protesting this move?

---
Hey Columbus Council... how about making sure Mayor Tom-LYING-son "presents" the City with the "The KEY to the Queen TT Lounge".. Heck.. one of you might need to use it one day..

---
Did you see the National Anthem at the Cotton Bowl? A Bald Eagle flying around the arena landed on the shoulder of a Notre Dame fan. Glad it wasn't in San Francisco...Nike would have blown a gasket that the eagle's "swoop" landed on the shoulder of a patriot standing for our National Anthem rather than Nike's "swoop" landing on KaeperPRICK kneeling for it.

---
Hey, Sen Feinstein...any comment about the illegal alien child who grew up, crossed out border illegally, was caught twice before on DUI charges without being deported, and later kills an American citizen police officer?

---
Duke University is now paying students to take a "gap year" before starting their secondary education. Good grief! Duke must have figured out how to charge the $15,000.00 to the students' loans they'll have when they finish... or not continue school.

---
From the "Bias? What bias?" department - Online headline: "Chelsea Clinton slams congressman's comments to Fox News about 'only 2' migrant children dying: 'For shame'" -Good grief! Chelsea Clinton should be "ripping new ones" for Pelosi, Schumer, ...and her parents.. for not supporting a proper border wall that would discourage people from dragging their children 2,000 miles with false hopes... Of course, Chelsea's biggest problem would be finding a new place on them where she COULD "rip them a new one".

---
One thing a lot of people may have not noticed in the Clemson rout of Notre Dame was one of the signal boards Used by Clemson to call plays/formations was a Starbucks Coffee logo. Wanna bet uber-lib Starbucks' Chairman Howard Schultz sends Clemson a "cease and desist" order not to use his logo?

---
After Clemson dominated Notre Dame maybe the Coach Brian Kelly of Notre Dame should return his Coach of the Year award.

---
Purdue, Michigan, and Notre Dame got what we in the South refer to as a "arse-whupping"! Maybe the college ranking organizations should limit these non-Southern schools to the Second 10 and higher category!

---
From the "as predicted" department - Online headline/story: "House probe of FBI-DOJ's alleged anti-Trump, pro-Clinton bias hits unceremonious end -- with no report * Two Republicans chairing the committees – Reps. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., and Robert Goodlatte, R-Va. – said in a letter Friday that the DOJ must appoint a special counsel to investigate the “seemingly disparate treatment” of the investigations into Clinton’s use of private emails and Trump’s alleged ties to Russia." -- Good grief! Giving Hellary martyrdom would have resulted, but now MSM-13 and the Democrats will "feel" they have no limitations on what they can do to eviscerate Trump and conservative Republicans!

---
From the "Bias? What bias?" department - Online headline: "Media sneer at Melania Trump’s fashion choices, fawn over Michelle Obama’s " -- MSM-13 just has no concept of what real style actually is.

---
From the "good grief, her again!" department - Online headline: "Ocasio-Cortez, progressives express disappointment with climate panel" -- The only real threat to the world's climate issues is the excessive verbosity of the hot air that Democrats believe is causing the melting of glaciers and Saturn's rings.

---
From the "real legacy of the last-days-of-Mayor-Tom-LYING-son" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "Here are ‘best of the rest’ business and development stories for area in 2018 * "NEARLY 600 PEOPLE LOSING JOBS AT THREE AREA COMPANIES" * "47,000 PEOPLE IN REGION NEED HELP TO FEED THEMSELVES" * TOYS R US JOINS SEARS AND HHGREGG IN CLOSING ITS DOORS (and don't forget K-mart)" * "KIDDIE SHOPPE CLOSES ITS DOORS AFTER DECADES-LONG RUN" -- Then add other "slams" such as "Great Wolf Lodge" picking LaGrange , making a big issue out of a BBQ restaurant taking over failed restaurant 'Logan's Road House" location, and a convenience store opening up on Whittlesey near Columbus Park Crossing, and treating them as "great Columbus news".

---
Oh.. and don't let Sheriff Tompkins' words slip away into obscurity... remember when she recently said that 2/3rds of the jail prisoners were gang affiliated? Remember when Mayor Tom-LYING-son said we don't have a "gang problem"?

---
M/C L-E headline: "Trump blames Democrats for migrant child deaths" -- and he's RIGHT! And Chelsea Clinton should be "ripping new ones" for Pelosi, Schumer, ...and her parents.. for not supporting a proper border wall that would discourage people from dragging their children 2,000 miles with false hopes... Of course, Chelsea's biggest problem would be finding a new place on them where she COULD "rip them a new one".

---
From the "hypocrisy rising to new heights" department - M/C L-E Leonard 'the" Pitts babblings: "The year we lost ourselves * Like Sen. John McCain and former President George H.W. Bush, two towering statesmen who died at a time when statesmanship is in short supply." -- Good grief.. can "the Pitts" produce one reference where he exclaimed the statesmanship of Bush41 or McCain when they were Presidential candidates?

---
From the "poetic justice" department - Well, "prominent" organizations picked the "Coach of the Year" and the "Heisman Award Winner"... and neither will be at the Championship football game next Monday. Obviously, the level of play in the South far exceeds the comprehension of National organizations.

---
From the "whatta they thinking" department?" - M/C L-E story: "The Trump administration is expected to take steps to block a historic agreement that would allow Cuban players to join Major League Baseball teams without having to defect, according to an official familiar with the discussions. * The administration wants to reverse an Obama-era ruling that says the Cuban government doesn’t run the island’s professional baseball league. Such a position gave MLB space to negotiate and reach the deal with Cuban baseball and circumvent the U.S. embargo against Cuba.": -- Yeah, and the FBI and/or Treasury Department should raid all of the Obama/Clinton abodes and confiscate all their Cuban cigars!

---
From the "why is anything she says considered news?" department - Online headline: "Ocasio-Cortez slams GOP and Trump over shutdown: 'This isn't how you treat people'" -- Hmmm... and neither is exposing American citizens to dangerous animals! This "Democrat" has risen to prominence because Democrats and MSM-13 could care less about our nation's security and even the Democrat voter base wanted change from the usual Democrat Party agenda and lies.

---
From the "Bias? What bias?" department - Online headline/story: "House leader: Democrats won't seat candidate in unresolved race * incoming U.S. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer issued a statement saying House Democrats won't allow Republican Mark Harris to be sworn in next week because of the ongoing investigation." -- Hmmm... yet Steny Hoyer WILL swear in Maine's questionably "elected" Democrat Representative even though Maine's election process is being challenged constitutionally...

---
Online headline/story: "Utah gears up to implement nation's lowest DUI limit * The 0.05 percent limit goes into effect Sunday, despite protests that it will punish responsible drinkers and hurt the state's tourism industry * For Utah lawmakers, the change is a safety measure aimed at encouraging people not to drive at all if they've been drinking." -- Hmmm... maybe a new campaign slogan should be.. "Not only DRIVE responsibly, but LEGISLATE responsibly. too!". Now, church goers participating in Communion rituals could be picked up driving out of their church's parking lot.

---
Wow! Who was that team dressed in the Auburn uniforms.. Purdue was really "shut down"!! On the other hand, Ohio State's loss to Purdue certainly quells any claim that Ohio State deserved to be in the Top 4 teams... Top 10, even..

---
Speaking of "shut downs", Br'er Trump got Br'er Schumer to "throw him into the brier patch" .. and Schumer still doesn't recognize that he's painted himself into a
"steel walled" corner.. that Trump DESIGNED!. If Trump only gets $1.00 in additional "wall funds", Schumer will look like the "name" that's "scrambled" within the letters of his name to the Dems and Dems' voter base... "He R Scum", and if he doesn't "negotiate", he will be blamed for the shut down AND for crimes committed by illegal aliens.

---
Thursday night, I caught the last 20 minutes of a movie I really liked.."Remember the Titans"...and I looked up the characters to learn more about the real characters. What I learned also was the use of 'poetic licensing' by the director/script writer was full of bogus incitements of racial unrest that did not happen. Shame on Hollywood for encouraging division by making up plot lines that discourage real healing...they did it to "Glory Road" as well... I remembered that season so well as I was at Mississippi State, and got to see Kentucky's "Rupp's Runts" who lost the championship game to the U. Texas El Paso "Cinderella" team. I saw movie scenes that nauseated me, and then learned the writer/director made them up as in incendiary moments to rouse racial issues. Shame on Hollywood!

---
Online headline: "Miami Dolphins' Robert Quinn complains about lack of coverage for his protest during national anthem" -- Good grief! Then escort him to the fast lane of the nearest Interstate and let h in m kneel down in front of rush hour traffic!

---
As we end 2018, I think one last fact should be open for discussion...the gone-tomorrow Mayor Tom-LYING-son goes out at age 53, yet she feels a 47 year old Government Center is .. should be considered ... obsolete... the house she owns is older than that, but it remains viable because she's maintained it properly. What's her excuse for not doing so with the property the citizens entrusted her to take care of?

---
I read where 19 year old immigrants were being enrolled in public high schools as freshmen... think about that...not only do you have 19 year olds socially interacting with 14 year olds, but if normal progression occurs, in 3 more years, when the immigrants are "seniors", there will be 22 year olds mingling with 14 year olds. This is not a solution nor acceptable.

Online story: "the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (“the ATL” for short) hopes to create a seamless transit system from the alphabet soup of agencies that provide service across 13 counties. * the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (“the ATL” for short) hopes to create a seamless transit system from the alphabet soup of agencies that provide service across 13 counties. * The ATL will pay Jackson-Spalding $590,000 over a year to develop the logo and for branding and related work. A representative of the company explained the logo in a presentation to board members: *The shapes that form the “star” in the logo are a series of “A’s” – or arrows – that spiral around a central axis, “symbolizing the freedom of movement provided to the region.” -- $590,000.00? You know, considering the scale of the Atlanta area to Columbus, that's still cheaper per person than the "We Do Amazing" slogan Columbus taxpayers were stuck with a $97,000.00 bill. Of course, Tom-LYING-son, Council, and the Chamber missed the opportunity to recoup our loss but subletting Atlanta the rights to use a variation of ours... "Atlantes Does More Amazing than Columbus".

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "Man charged in elderly Columbus couple’s deadly assault could be released on $400,000 bonds * A judge has set bonds for the mentally ill man accused of randomly attacking an elderly Columbus couple in late September – punching the 89-year-old wife unconscious and fatally stabbing her 90-year-old husband before fighting a 69-year-old neighbor outside their Victoria Drive home. * Darius Jamar Travick, 27, is charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault in the Sept. 24 death of John Dawson, the attack on Dawson’s wife, and the assault on the neighbor. * View on page
Man charged in elderly Columbus couple’s deadly assault could be released on $400,000 bonds * Because Travick has been jailed 90 days without being indicted, he is entitled to a bond under Georgia law." -- Good grief.. "jury fails" pale in comparison to this failure.. not only has our Prosecutorial system failed, but so has our Legislative system. Even the L-E states the man is "mentally ill" without tying "allegedly" to it... All I can say now is the judge better set bond so high even Bill Gates couldn't afford it!

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "In a celebration of press freedom, several prominent journalists will launch the Times Square ball drop as New Yorkers ring in the New Year on Monday night. * In a Friday press release, the Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment, both organizers of the bash, announced that “the group will appear on stage with the Committee to Protect Journalists just before midnight to push the crystal button that signals the lowering of the Waterford Crystal Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball.” -- Hmmm... aside from the self-gratifying display of biased journalism,.. rumor has it the "ball" will land on a Trump effigy dressed in diapers representing the "new Year "baby".

---
M/C L-E headline: "Idle equipment and Beaver Run Road among top Inquirers of 2018" -- Hmmm... so "idle equipment" on Farr Road was a "big" story for Columbus... You know, I was not nearly as concerned about that equipment being "idle" as I am about how "idle" all the equipment is usually is on the River Road Roundabout site.. I drive by and think it may be some sort of "used equipment" sales lot.

---
It's "not Columbus, but it is a M/C L-E headline/story: "Alabama releases schools’ letter grades * Most Alabama public school systems received a letter grade of B or C, under new school report cards released Friday by the Alabama Department of Public Education. * The letter grades were an improvement over those released for the previous school year. The state overall was given a letter grade of B. Most school systems received a grade of B or C. Fifteen school systems received a grade of A. Ten school systems received a D. No school system received an F." -- You know... without a "standard" that defines "failure", no grading system can set the "standard" for passing marks..

---
For those boycotting the NFL like me: NFL recap for 2018: Only 15 teams had a "winning record", and 5 teams won only 4 (or less) games.

---
Hey Mayor Tom-LYING-son... Tom Bodett tweeted to say that Columbus was not going to "leave the light on for you".

---

Oh! Remember a few months ago I showed a picture of the 11 pothole repairs made to a 1/10th mile stretch on Cloverdale between Whitesville and Mobley Roads.. This is what one area of that section looked like yesterday:

Friday, December 28, 2018

From the "Rodney King...can't we all just get along?" department - Online headline: "Progressives set to push their agenda in Congress and on the campaign trail. The GOP can't wait." -- Good grief.. America has a future that needs to be attended to! What get's me is that so called "progressives" were "for" things Trump wants before Trump got in office, but didn't get then enacted, but now they don't want Trump to be successful in getting them done.. Oh... what's sadder is that "Progressives" were against most of the people Trump hired as "advisers", but they now are upset when Trump fires those people...

---
From the "don't rush to judgment" department - A tweet was sent, "“I strongly believe that we should take on, once and for all, the issue of illegal immigration,” and Democrats sat on their jackASSes and brayed. Uh, oh.. this was a 2011 tweet by President Obama that President Trump retweeted...

---
From the "talk about needed immigration reform" department - Online story: "More than 500 migrants were released Wednesday onto the streets of Texas and New Mexico, U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement said, as the government struggles to detain illegal immigrants amid an influx of Central Americans trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. * The release on Wednesday followed days of other mass releases by the agency in order to prevent migrant families from being detained longer than allowed. On Christmas Day, the agency released 186 migrants and another 400 were set free two days prior, Las Cruces' KVIA-TV reported." -- "in order to prevent migrant families from being detained longer than allowed"? What other country has a policy that limits its government to how long it can detain an illegal alien criminal? Build the Wall... and we want have so many of these kinds of situations...

---
I tell you what, it seems we already have a wall built... an invisible wall between the Democrats and common sense. That's the wall we don't need and is morally wrong.

---
Online headline: "Father of dead Guatemalan boy, 8, heard rumors he could cross into US with children, family says" -- Let's be real...Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer... Feinstein, too.. could have prevented this by agreeing to Build THE WALL! They have his blood on their hands!

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "MSNBC beats Fox News in key ratings for first time in 17 years" - Well it is HuffPOOPOO so take it for what it's worth.. On the other hand, Fox is losing me most of the day.. I look for other sources of TV viewing when ever Fox allows such anti-Trump, anti-American Democrat spinmeisters to give unchallenged misinformation about Trump or the Democrat agenda...

---
You know, I've allowed a local "Monday subject" to drop off my list... Remember when Jemu Greene spoke out about her being groped by Calvin Smyre in an elevator at the 1996 Democrat Convention? I still wonder why this was swept under the carpet.. unlike most similar accusations, Greene's target was not some high-profile national politician or judicial candidate, so she wasn't looking for national publicity for herself..

---
From the "political posturing?" department - Online headline: "Official: Russian weapon 27 times faster than speed of sound" -- And it hit a target accurately at 37 miles away... but... how much fuel can one of these carry that would get in in the 13,000 mile range? I remember my super-powerful, super fast 1967 GTO with the 400 HO engine.. if I was heavy-footed showing off the raw power, I'd get about 7 MPG around town.. and with a 20 gallon tank, I'd have to fill up a second time some days..

---
From the "when is a sanctuary not a sanctuary?" department -- Online headline/story: "Sheriff: California officer's killer is in the U.S. illegally * "This suspect ... is in our country illegally. He doesn't belong here. He is a criminal," Christianson said at a news conference." -- Hmmm... when is a sanctuary NOT a sanctuary? When it's a sanctuary city/state and protects illegal alien criminals but not American citizens or law enforcement officers...

---
Online headline: "Saturn is officially losing its rings — and they're disappearing much faster than scientists had anticipated" -- Good grief.. can you not hear Algore blaming "Universe Climate Change"?

---
Online headline: "Never-Nancy Dems risk election backlash for flipping on Pelosi vote, in 1st congressional test" -- Good grief.. do Democrat voters really expect their candidates to keep promises? No! .. because if they did, they'd have voted for Trump...

---
Online headline: "Michelle Obama beats Hillary Clinton as most admired woman in America, survey says" -- Hmmm... what I'd like to see is how many surveyors checked off the "None of the above" box..and you have to wonder if Condoleezza Rice was even on the list..

---
Excuse me, but what gives MSM-13 the 'right' to call/question President Trump's decision to recall 2,000 of of our soldiers from a combat zone? The fact is that the President can initiate a retaliatory strike against any enemy actions from any of our more secure bases/posts worldwide without exposing our troops to unnecessary dangers.

---
By publishing the story about 2 sisters claiming their Doctor father lied to give Trump a medical reason to escape the draft in 1968, and without any documentation just eliminated the NewYorkTimes from recovering from the legacy it has abandoned .. The NYT has gone from "all the news that's fit to print," to "all the news that's SH*T to print".

---
From the "Hey, Mueller.. here's your collusion witness!" - department - Online headline/story: "Liberal billionaire apologizes for funding 'false flag' effort to link Kremlin to Republican in Alabama Senate race * Liberal Silicon Valley billionaire Reid Hoffman issued an apology on Wednesday for funding a group that falsely tried to give an impression the Russian government was supporting Alabama Republican Roy Moore in last year’s Senate election against now-Sen. Doug Jones. * In the last election cycle he donated $7 million to Democratic groups, though his money also pours into non-traditional groups that aren’t mandated to report their funding and often operate in the shadows. * One such groups is American Engagement Technologies (AET), a firm run by former Obama appointee Mikey Dickerson, which received $750,000 from Hoffman and was part of the effort to falsely portray the Republican’s senate bid as being supported by the Kremlin." -- Good grief! Here's collusion tied up in a pretty package that includes Obama's personal choice as his IT man, being the lead IT guy to mislead Alabama voters!

---
From the "what doesn't Savannah have that Columbus does" department - Online story: "The Savannah regional economy experienced positive growth during the third quarter" -- Hmmm.. Growth is the easy answer... but Savannah didn't have Mayor Tom-LYING-son either... and in a few days, neither will Columbus!

---
Were my eyes tricking me? Just read that Vermont..commune of Bernie Sanders' Socialist empire, is the ONLY state never to have elected a woman to either the US House or US Senate? How misogynistic of the "Bern-meister".

---
From the "why is it?" department - M/C L-E headline: "Trump, again, inaccurately brags about pay raise for military" -- Have you noticed a pattern in MSM-13 "reporting"? Like how the "truth" is only pertinent when Trump speaks, yet MSM-13 yawned,,, and continues to yawn whenever old or new Democrats make outrageous claims?

---
M/C L-E headline: "A WET, PIVOTAL YEAR _ Government Center flooding, school security and new mayor among top stories of 2018" -- The Government Center flooding is definitely a worthy "Story of the Year", but the L-E failed to zero in on the problem.. faulty construction (sewer pipes with 90-degree turns for one) and lack of ongoing and preventative maintenance.. and one story "conveniently" not included is the condition of our roads.. roads like what we have lower the value of people's homes, and dampen the outlook when industrial scouts come to look Columbus over...

---
M/C L-E headline: "Man convicted of killing infant dies on death row" -- yeah... of old age.. the man was convicted TWICE.. ..in 1995 and 2001 after the first conviction was throw out.. I tell you what.. this is a case of "Judicial Failure"! I tell you what. if a case is thrown out on any technicality and retried and found guilty a second time, the sentence should be carried out in 30 days or less!

---
From the "and on what basis?" department - M/C L-E headline: "Obama tops Trump as America’s most admired person" -- Most admired for what... getting away with scandals?

---
It's amazing that Michael Cohen's cellphone can be tracked d\own to a " two years ago, yet no one has tracked down any of the "pings" any of the cellphones Hellary, her minions, or any of the FBI agents carried then destroyed.

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "Muscogee County Christmas Tournament features local, regional basketball teams * the tournament’s 2018 edition won’t crown champions because it has reverted back to the showcase format it tried a few years ago. * And that’s because most coaches prefer it that way, said Muscogee County School District athletics director Jeff Battles." -- Good grief! I guess every player and coach will get a "participation" trophy... Of Course "most" coaches like the format.. Only one would get a trophy for winning if they kept score...I tell you what.. there's probably not a player that would swap a careers' worth of "participation" trophies for just the memory I have of WINNING either of two Shaw Christmas Tournaments!

---
From the "Proof positive our education system is failing" department - Did you see the schedule printed in the L-E for the Christmas Tournament? If not, here is the headline "Muskogee County Christmas Tournament Schedule". -- "Muskogee"?

Thursday, December 27, 2018

Online story: "During a surprise trip to Iraq, his first such visit with US troops in a combat zone, President Donald Trump says he has "no plans at all" to withdraw US forces from the country * Trump had not previously said he would pull US troops from Iraq, but the trip comes after he abruptly announced the withdrawal of some 2,000 US troops from Syria * If needed, the US can attack ISIS "so fast and so hard" (from Iraq) that they "won't know what the hell happened," Trump said." -- Wow! First, I want to thank this MSM-13 "contributor" for pretty much REPORTING (rather than guesstimating) the facts in a reasonable manner/order. MSM-13 was use to Obama "telegraphing" military plans directly through MSM-13 TO our enemies so that MSM-13 became the actual Obama messengers to the enemy.

You know, IF Hellary had won, there'd be no 2,000 troop withdrawal from Syria.. as ISIS would still be prevalent and pertinent in Syria, and many more of our young soldiers would be actively engaged in combat..

---
"Monopoly" has evolved! Now there's a version for "the Millennials"... On the cover, we see Mr. Monopoly is wearing a medal, presumably from that half marathon he ran, holding a coffee, wearing headphones and snapping a selfie. Forget collecting properties , the goal is to instead collect experiences, like going to a meditation retreat, crashing on a friend's couch or dining at a vegan bistro, and instead of game pieces like the Top Hat, Race Car, or Thimble, game pieces are emojis.. including a crying one and a "hashtag". Oh.. and their are fewer "spaces"... this accommodates the Millennials trend to try it, get by it, and move on to a different experience.

---
Trump has taken responsibility for shutting down the government.. taken responsibility for America's safety, and at the same time has pointed the "spotlight of truth" directly on Schumer. Schumer now has to do his part in negotiations... Oh... have you noticed that Schumer is sort of a puzzle.. it contains a hidden descriptive sentence which also accentuates the sad state liberalism has driven our education system... If you change the letters in "Schumer" around, you get "He R Scum."

---
I saw an ad for a movie about Ruth Bader Ginsburg....good grief...why would Hollywood feel anyone wants to see a movie about a closed-minded liberal first appointed by Carter to a district bench then.."promoted" by Clinton to the Supreme Court. And besides, who's gonna actually buy tickets to see it... Millennials... yeah... right?

---
The first reports are in for Christmas sales: "Sales in the 2018 U.S. holiday shopping season rose 5.1 percent to over $850 billion, the strongest in six years, according to a Mastercard report." -- A %5 increase means that about $43 BILLION more dollars entered the capitalism market to generate more jobs for 2019!

---
From the " outrageous is not sufficient enough to express disappointment!" department - "The black nationalist group led by Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam preaches that white people are “blue-eyed devils” and Jews are “the synagogue of Satan." Its leaders have received at least $364,500 in contracts and awards from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Justice between fiscal 2008 and fiscal 2019." -- Anyone working for the U S Government affiliated with this program...even the person who entered the data that initiated a check being issued should be fired...and prohibited from ever drawing a government pension. Oh, I want to know when Schumer knew this, and why he didn't shut this operation down!

---
From the "he's dead and buried.. we don't have to pretend we loved him anymore" department - Online story: "“Nothing will overcome the loss of Senator McCain, but so that generations remember him I will be introducing a resolution to rename the Russell building after him,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, New York Democrat, said on Twitter just after McCain’s office announced his death. * Four months later, the resolution was never introduced. * Mr. Schumer’s spokesman clammed up when asked what happened." -- Hmmm... the "hidden" sentence in Schumer's name reveals all... "He R Scum".

---
Online headline: "Joe Biden feels stung as Obama plays 'footsie' with other Democrats eyeing 2020 bid" -- GOOD GRIEF! The only reason Obama kept Biden near was to make sure no one would try to harm him because Obama knew NO ONE wanted Biden in the White House.

---
From the "what BS" department -Online Double-fake-dose of the NYT and CNN headline/story: "New York Times: Daughters of foot doctor say he diagnosed Trump with bone spurs as 'favor' to Fred Trump * Elysa Braunstein would have been 5 at the time her father purportedly examined Donald Trump's foot, and he died in 2007, and now she and sister claim he told them he'd done a favor for Trump's dad and neither sister has any documentation, yet are destroying their dad's credibility for protecting patients' privacy...somebody ought to sue them!

M/C L-E headline: "Top 10 business stories of 2018 offer mix of good, bad for Columbus area" -- You know.. it's sad when Columbus' Top Story highlights the loss of 1000 higher paying jobs from a hi-tech electronics business servicing banks and rejoicing at the possibility of getting 600 lower paying call-center jobs (maybe..). Of course, no mention was made of the devastation of collecting less sales tax revenues by the closing of so many major retail businesses that have plagued our City and the outgoing Mayor's legacy..Also missing from the list is the fiasco the AquaCenter has further evolved...Oh.. and I just do not understand why there is "excitement " over I-14, when just completing the I-16 connections to Macon/Savannah and Montgomery over to Meridian and I-20 West would be faster, cheaper, and less duplicative than fitting a new system between 1-20 and !-20 to Texas.

From the "Bias? What bias?" department - M/C L-E headline: "2 deaths raise doubt about care of detained children" -- Hmmm... two children are drug 2,000 miles by parents with the selfish motive of using their children to get preferential treatment in getting access to the US and the children died after the US Border Patrol tried to help, and the US Border Patrol is blamed? Good grief.. after liberals wailed about how our Border Patrol failed the first child, it was revealed the little girl died of SEPSIS, and the young boy will probably be diagnosed the same. Please note: Sen Diane Feinstein .. no liberal for that matter.. ever issued an apology for blaming the 7-year-old's death on Border Patrol negligence...

From the "Bias? What bias?" department - Online headline/story: "U.S. says 2nd Guatemalan child has died in immigration custody * U.S. says 2nd Guatemalan child has died in immigration custody * The boy showed "signs of potential illness" Monday and was taken with his father to a hospital in Alamogordo, New Mexico, the agency said. There, he was diagnosed with a cold and a fever, was given prescriptions for amoxicillin and Ibuprofen and released Monday afternoon after being held 90 minutes for observation, the agency said. * The boy was returned to the hospital Monday evening with nausea and vomiting and died there just hours later," -- And the results will be the same.. or close.. to the little girl's cause of death... parental abuse of subjecting his child to abhorrent conditions... Pray for the family.. pray for the Border Patrol agents who have to deal with this ...

From the "don't rush to judgment!" department - Online headline.story: "‘Tougher, taller and stronger’ fence proposed for White House * The proposal also calls for putting security sensors along parts of the new fence and increasing the height of the gate where vehicles enter the White House grounds from eight feet to about 13 feet. * The new fence would also have “anti-climb and intrusion-detection technology, while respecting the historical significance and visitor experience at the White House,” according to a joint statement by the Park Service and the Secret Service." -- Like I said, don't rush to judgment.. this article was published April 28, 2016.. and the fence changes were approved by Schumer and Pelosi and Obama.

---
Online headline: "Ocasio-Cortez says Jesus was a 'refugee' in Christmas tweet" - Good grief! We knew Ocasio-Cortez didn't know our Constitution, and now she proves she doesn't know the Bible either.. Jesus was born in Bethlehem because...BECAUSE his parents traveled there to do their civic duty to register for the Census and pay their taxes. Maybe it's a case of... along with not knowing our Constitution, or the Bible.. maybe she JUST DOESN'T KNOW JESUS!

From the "Red Allen, 'Well how about that'" department - Online headline/story: "The EU-funded wall that nobody wants to talk about * This is not Donald Trump’s desired border wall between the USA and Mexico, nor is it Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán’s fence which stops the flow of migrants into Europe – this is a 764 kilometer wall between Turkey and Syria, funded by none other than the European Union. * While the EU and its loyal followers persistently preach that any form of borders are racist, many will be shocked to learn that the construction of this wall was largely funded by the 28-member state union. -- And all under the Obama terms..

---
Online headline/story: "Trump signs bill naming post office for Army captain Khan * President Donald Trump has signed into law a bill naming a Virginia post office for fallen U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan, whose father criticized the then-candidate in a 2016 Democratic National Convention speech." -- Hmm.. in other words, President Trump honored the the father's son, and the Democrats USED... no, ABUSED the man's grief to further their propaganda.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "National Christmas tree dark due to government shutdown * The tree, a massive Colorado blue spruce, was damaged Friday when a man in “emotional distress” tried to climb it, a park service spokesperson told The Hill. The shutdown has “complicated” repairs that would allow for the lights to be turned back on." -- Hmm... just the point that we have not only "non-essential" employees on the government payroll, but incompetent ones as well.. how hard can be to to keep weirdos from climbing THE National Christmas tree?

---
From the "only in California" department - Online story: ""Drivers can select male, female, or nonbinary on the application. The DMV can not require an applicant to provide gender documentation. Those who select nonbinary will get a card with an X in the gender category." -- and won't previous males desiring anonymity for gender feel betrayed that they been labeled with an "X" instead of a "Y"?

Online headline/story: "Two Democratic senators are scrutinizing a federal judicial nominee over his membership in the Knights of Columbus, drawing a stern rebuke from the Catholic organization. * Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, raised concerns about Omaha-based lawyer Brian Buescher's membership as part of the Senate Judiciary Committee's review of his nomination by President Trump to sit on the U.S. District Court in Nebraska * (Sen) Harris, in her questions to the nominee, called the Knights of Columbus “an all-male society” and asked the Nebraska lawyer if he was aware that the group was anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage when he joined. * Buescher responded that his involvement in the group consisted mostly of charitable work and community events at his local Catholic parish. He indicated he would abide by judicial precedent regarding abortion." -- Double Good Griefs! - How many "all-female" organizations does Harris belong to or agree with? and, Why does Judge Ginsburg not recuse herself on any.. on ALL ..abortion related issues before "the Bench" since she's openly hostile against any review/change on the issue?

I think I'm going to stop using restaurants that offer Waitr services. Whether I go to dine in or pick up to go, I get no discounts yet the restaurant gives Waitr a 20% discount, and Waitr will charge me a delivery fee and expect a tip for delivering it to my home.

To all Democrat representatives who are against the Wall on our Southern Border: If you are so convinced that "walls" are an archaic holdover from the 4th Century, why no do a little research in your home states/district, I suggest you take down all the walls and fences in the prisons in your district, and see if incarcerated felons will voluntarily stay and serve out their sentences..

Hey, Columbus Council...Since the exterior rehab of the Old Iron Bank has been long finished, When's the old clock going to be reinstalled at the Iron Bank? I'd also like to know that when the rehab work of stripping old paint off the iron facade was important, why were not better precautions taken about keeping lead based paint dust from being airborne into the air we breathe?

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Sharpton, pundit spar over federal workers left without pay" -- Good grief.. the only thing Al Sharlatan is concerned about is that the IRS personnel on his case are still on his case!

---
Interesting comparison: "King Solomon’s wall" In the 10th Century BCE according to the Bible, King Solomon decreed that a wall would be built in the city to protect it from interlopers. Archaeologists recently uncovered remnants of a wall built in that era that seems as if it could easily be the wall in question." -- Hmmm.. even though we "knew it", now we KNOW, that Chuck Schumer is no King Solomon, the wise one.

From the "now we know" department - Councilor House now publishes a recap of "Council doings", and it sure is welcome... too bad other Councilors have not taken advantage of social media and e-mail options. Of course, while most disclosures are welcomed info, a lot of disclosures are disappointments.. I almost wish I was still speculating.. still hoping that Council would realize that committing to a partnership project with the GA DOT to look for way to solve the traffic issue at the Alabama end of the J.R. Allen Parkway are neither our issue nor anything GA taxpayers should be wasting money on..Of course, the solution is to shut down Alabama's right to access to the Parkway at the connecting bridge until Alabama comes up with a plan to improve their logjam exits at Highway 280...

From the proof positive he's smart" department - M/C L-E story: "Irritated with the criticism and fallout from Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’ resignation, President Donald Trump on Sunday pushed the Pentagon chief out the door two months earlier than planned, an acrimonious end to a tense relationship that had been eroding in recent months." -- Good grief.. why on Earth would any CEO want to keep on a disgruntled employee who submits his/her embittered resignation? Personally, I'd accepted the resignation, and asked his to have his office cleared out within the hour ..... under supervision!

---
Three generations of family women went to see "Mary Poppins Returns".. while they did enjoy it (there was speculative fear as to whether it wold be another Disney flop like "Pooh" and "Nutcracker"), they all made note that the songs were disappointing compared to the classics of the original "Mary Poppins".

From the "sequel to the otter release after the 'Exxon Valdez' spill department - M/C L-E story: "The body of a 7-year-old girl who died while in custody of the U.S. Border Patrol arrived in her native Guatemala on Sunday and was being driven hours into the countryside to be handed over to family members for a last goodbye. * A white coffin containing Jakelin Caal was received in the afternoon at Guatemala City’s international airport by representatives of the country’s Foreign Ministry. * No family members were on hand. Domingo Caal, the girl’s grandfather, said the family didn’t have money to travel to Guatemala’s capital." -- can you not see the expression on liberals' faces being similar to the libs who watched gloriously as a recovered see otter was released back into the wild, but before then otter could get out of sight, an ORCA took it out in front of all those cameras? We all mourned the loss of the life of a 7 year old, but where was the family concern about this 7-year-old girl being dragged into the politics of the "caravan" without her family?

Interesting... Georgia is a 12.5 point favorite over Texas in the Sugar Bowl...Texas beat Oklahoma in the regular season, and should have beat them in the conference championship. Now Oklahoma is playing Alabama (which beat Georgia) in the first round of the FCP ... and Georgia is favored by 12.5 points over Texas who beat.. nearly twice... Oklahoma.

From the "put this in your pipe and Smoke it, Pelosi and Schumer" department - Online headline/story: "Ocasio-Cortez: It's 'completely unacceptable' Congressional salaries are exempt from shutdown * Her post comes on the first day of a partial government shutdown caused by lawmakers’ inability to pass a budget amid President Trump’s demands for border wall funding. * The government shutdown only affects agencies and employees that are funded through annual appropriations. But that doesn’t apply to members of Congress. Salaries for members of the House and Senate are written into permanent law" -- Ironically, Ocasio-Cortez hasn't begun drawing a government paycheck yet, nor understands that she will be broken by her party leadership's policies in her first year in office.

---
How can Schumer say Dems will never vote to fund the wall and at the same time try to convince even his base that he's not only a reasonable man, but one who has the best interests for America's future?

---
Will someone ask Schumer.. and Ms Ocasio-Cortez.. why the walls around NY state and Federal prisons haven't been taken down taken down since walls don't work..

As I'm sure the "facts" on soon-to-be-gone-Mayor Tom-LYING-son political website will be as "accurate" as the 2016 polls that had Hellary a shoo-in winner, so here's a real real fact about our murder rate and violent local crimes in general for 2017:

Statistics Reported-incidents Columbus/100k ppl Georgia/100k ppl National/100k ppl

Murder                   35               17.6                      6.7                      5.3
Violent crime      1,303             655.0                    357.0                  .0383

No wonder she wants to get out of Columbus... it'll be safer for her...

I know you've seen the ads, but why would Smirnoff Vodka eagerly announce it's NOW being made with non-GMO grains? Now, folks with cirrhosis of the liver will file law suits en masse ...If I owned Smirnoff, I'd have just switched, and said nothing about it.

---
Why is Schumer given ANY "power" in Washington ...especially as a Senator... While he won two Senate seats in 2016 with Dems beating RINO's in IL and VT , and Dems losing two net seats in this year's midterm election which should have been positive for the put of power party. Schumer is just a loser in so many ways.

M/C L-E headline: "James: NFL owners are ‘old white men’ with ‘slave mentality’ toward players" -- Well, LeBron.. you can always walk away... nothing says you must stay in that 4-year, $154 MILLION Dollar NBA contract if you feel it's an 'intolerable' circumstance... well, nothing but YOUR ego!

Why aren't Columbus women "peed off" at the urology ad showing only a woman being distressed when the child is shown saying "this little piggy wee-wee'd all the way home?

Wow! Schumer came out against it immediately after the House passed a new version of the 'continuing resolution' bill by adding $5.7 Billion for the 'Wall'. In reality, Schumer has said he's against the Billions included for hurricane damage relief in GA, SC, and NC, and the $7 Billion for fire damage relief in CA in his attempt to undermine our Nations security against illegal aliens and drugs crossing our Southern border without constraint.

---
Online headline/story: "Georgia reps clamber for Hurricane Michael money amid border wall chaos * That’s because the must-pass legislation also included $5 billion for President Donald Trump’s border wall, a proposition local Democrats said was a non-starter -- even with storm relief attached to it. * “This wall would do nothing to improve our nation’s security and is a serious misallocation of taxpayer dollars,” said Albany Democrat Sanford Bishop, who led the charge to secure Michael money on the House Appropriations Committee. “It should have been stripped from this important funding legislation and considered separately.” -- I think the safety of our nation from illegal aliens is just as important than restoration of this nations storm damaged areas. Obviously, GA Democrat Representatives feel staying in the graces of Pelosi is more important than representing the needs of GA citizens.

---
What's the real reason Schumer is against "the Wall"? The 2019 Budget for Border Security is almost $75 Billion, but in that figure is $4,198,300,000.00 (which can grow exponentially each year -
Source:

(https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/DHS%20BIB%202019.pdf):

$570.9 Million for 2,000 additional law enforcement officers, 1,312 support personnel, and to fund lawyers to represent the Federal Government in exclusion, deportation, bond, and removal proceedings before the U.S. Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review.

$2.8 billion for 52,000 detention beds, which is comprised of 49,500 adult beds, and 2,500 family beds. Non-U.S. citizens who are apprehended and determined to need custodial supervision are placed in detention facilities. For unaccompanied children, DHS coordinates closely with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to ensure the timely and safe transfer

$511.1 million for transportation costs associated with the transfer and removal of illegal immigrants.

$184.4 million for ICE’s Alternatives to Detention (ATD) Program, to monitor 82,000 average daily participants within the program that may pose a flight risk, but who are not considered a threat to our communities.

$131.9 million for E-Verify operations and upgrades, $22.8M is included in funding to continue investing in E-Verify to prepare for eventual mandatory use for all U.S. workers nationwide.

In other words, if no "Wall" is built, in Trump's 8 years, Democrats will have caused over $33.5 BILLION in tax dollars to be spent because we DON'T HAVE A WALL!.. And with the "Wall", many billions annually could be saved by reducing additional personnel and ending material expenses.

---
The Democrats have 40 women (and Republicans have 4) in the upcoming House...from what I gather.. most of the new ones are coming with a mission, and it doesn't included being consider one of the Democrat sheep that Pelosi feels they will be.. it will be interesting times..

Can anyone name a major corporation that the CEO allows his/her advisers to make the final decision on any issue? CEO's do listen to the ideas of advisers, but it's not the advisers who sign the bottom line that puts a plan in action.. Mattis was an adviser.. Trump is the CEO... 2,000 soldiers and their families are excited to be coming home..

While we feel the jar when we run over a pothole on the streets of Columbus, there is one other more dangerous neglect happening on our artery streets.. most streets have been so long without resurfacing, that the white lines delineating the roads from the shoulders has become so faint that any amount of rainfall obliterates their visibility at night.

---
Have you seen all the drainage pipes and collectors piled up at the River Road Roundabout site? You know, I've been using the intersection streets there all my life, and I've never seen a drainage/flooding issue/problem there. Makes you wonder about the skills of the engineers when they build in a flooding plan where none's ever existed.

Looking at how ugly the new wrestling/cheer building going up at Columbus High, I do believe if I was the architect, I'd resign.....oh....

From the "bring him on!" department - Online story: "President Trump on Friday jabbed at Texas Representative Beto O’Rourke amid speculation about him running for president in 2020. * “Now, he’s running for president,” Trump joked at a press event. “I thought you were supposed to win before you run for president, no?” -- You know.. in a hotly contested race, both parties can figure on 40-45% of votes from the parties ideology bases. Beto had nearly $80 MILLION dollars spent and got but 48% of the Texas vote.. and won only 32 of 254 Texas Counties.. Now, or spending $80 Million, in one state and on one candidate, and getting only a few more votes than if you spent zero dollars is not anything to brag on or expect different results in the future..

From the "while I never thought about it before.. no surprise here" department - Good old 24/7 Wall Street list of the "Most Common Name in Every State": While we basically tend to think about the number of Smiths, Williams, Johnsons, Millers, and Browns as most popular surnames in America..some states have seen transitions,, In California, the 3 most popular surnames are now Garcia, Martinez, and Rodriguez. In Arizona, it's Smith, Johnson, and Garcia. In Florida, it's Smith, Williams, and Rodriguez. In New Mexico, it's Martinez, Garcia, and Smith. In Colorado, it's Smith, Johnson, and Garcia., and in Nevada, Smith Johnson, and Martinez. In New Jersey, it's Smith, Rodriguez, and Brown. In New York, it's Smith Brown, and Rodriguez. Texas, it's Garcia, Smith, and Rodriguez. In Rhode Island, it's Smith Rodriguez, and Brown. The only real surprises to me was that the surnames "Jones" made the list in only 4 states.. OK, TN, UT, and VA, and that Jones was the 3rd most popular name in all 4 of those states. And the real surprise is that in Hawaii, the most popular names are Smith, Johnson, and Brown.

Though it hasn't been illuminated much in Columbus, a formal request has been made to raze the Chase Public Housing Homes on the Chattahoochee River and RiverWalk. They reason stated is that it's too near a GA Power Substation,, You know, that substation had[=s been there as long a=as I can remember.. and it';s always been UGLY.. an eyesore .. but o=all of a sudden it's intolerable.. You know, I have a suspicion that the project to renovate the Old City Mills building into a restaurant/night time destination by "FOT"s (friends of Tom-LYING-son) has more to do with the sudden urgency to remove public housing there. Oh.. and I'm still wondering where the Chase residents will be relocated.

Did you hear Democrat Louis Gutierrez, D-IL, rant and emote about the wall saying the fact that if Egypt had a wall, Jesus would have died. Excuse me, somehow our God, who can split the waters of a sea, can flood the Earth, can create life, can burn a bush without destroying the Bush, can turn a woman into a pillar of salt, and tumble the walls of Jericho with the sound of a trumpet, I believe our God could get Jesus safely into Egypt, blindfolded with both hands tied behind his back. The real story here is Democrat Gutierriez, a Democrat.. expressing belief in Jesus and Christmas.

---
Think about this..we had 2,000 soldiers in a Syrian combat area, and having to be constantly alert and vigilant for an assault. That means that shifts...3 daily, 7 days a week, had to be scheduled.. Do you realize the stress of that alone would cause battle fatigue. Also think about the joy 2,000 families feel (and the Joy every military family feels KNOWING President Trump thinks about them in every way) here at Christmas time.

---
Juan Williams... whatta an example of a Democrat jackASS...He suggested that Trump should just come out and say he tried his best but the Democrats just wouldn't agree with him, and move on. Good Grief! That's almost exactly what Clinton said in 1993 after he campaigned for a middle class tax cut.."I tried my best but just couldn't do it". Of course he never gave Congress a chance to try to work with him.

---
Government Motors is axing three Chevrolets from its lineup – the semi-electric Volt, the Cruze compact sedan and the full-size Impala." -- The Impala...a "full-size" vehicle? Not with a 111.7" wheelbase (119" in 1965, and 116" in 1980)...not now, not ever! GM just failed to consider consumer wants and needs, and built vehicles that just failed to attract buyers' needs/wants.

From the "oxymoron of 2018" department: Online headline: "Stacey Abrams joins board at liberal think tank" -- " think tank"? Maybe a "feel facility", but there ain't no thinking going on when two or more liberal congregate.

---
You know... if Hellary had won... Democrats and MSM-13 would probably still be blaming the continued minimum-growth Obama economy on Trump just existing..

---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton writes letter of encouragement to 8-year-old girl who lost class presidency to boy" -- Good grief..what adult feels it's beneficial...even necessary, for a 2nd grade to have class officers? With what we see of progress tests is that most second graders would not be able to READ the ballot, much less understand what the ballot is about. Looks like a training program to teach voter fraud.

---
M/C L-E headline: "‘Stocking Strangler’ execution tops Columbus crime news" -- Hmmm.. News about Gary's death is, at best.. OLD NEWS.. over 30 years past when it should have happened.. to me, the top CRIME news would be about the "jury fails" that freed a number of killers from any sentencing...and the Board of Elections not disqualifying Zeph Baker from running for mayor, and the new appointed Clerk of Council being a former associate of the Clerk dismissed for reasons, and even our local elections and SPLOST referendums not being required to be held on the November General Election date.. oh, let's not forget the "purported" wreck of two City vehicles involving Mayor Tom-LYING-son, or the now City-funded $4.6 Million dollar River Road Roundabout, or the City splitting costs with the GA DOT to study why traffic backs up because of the well-known FACT that the Phenix City exits off the J.R. Allen Parkway are way inadequate... and what about the diversion of funds to Tom-LYING-son's pet projects that could have our streets being an asset to homeowners, visitors, and industrial scouts?

---
M/C L-E headline: "Trump again demands border wall funds, says federal workers want it" -- And Trump is right.. Federal workers DO want it.. of course, there are a lot of non-essential federal employees who are content with staying home knowing they will get paid as well.

From the "it is what it is.. another Democrat's promise" department - Online headline: "
Mueller may submit report to attorney general as soon as mid-February" -- Good grief.. when was the last time... or has there ever been one... a Democrat actually delivered on a promise that wasn't just obstructive to America's future? If there was anything about his "investigation" that was concrete, he'd already have delivered, not promise to deliver...

---
From the "we'll see today whether "I was for the Wall before I was against the Wall" Schumer will flip=flop again" department - Online story: "The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday added $5 billion to a government spending bill for President Donald Trump's wall on the southern border with Mexico, a move that boosted the odds of a partial federal shutdown on Saturday. * The bill must return to the Senate, where it is unlikely to find the Democratic votes needed to pass it. * "The bill that's on the floor of the House, everyone knows will not pass the Senate," (said) Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer." -- I tell you what, this may be the last hurrah for Schumer.. 2020 looms and it'll be another tough one for Democrat Senators.. especially after losing 2 seat during the mid-term elections instead of gaining seats.

---
Trump is right to bring our soldiers home from Syria...Even with America's available "fire power", 2,000 soldiers in a dangerous foreign situation pales to the number of Border Patrol Agents (21,000+) here at home. This is a job for the UN working with Syria.

---
Trump 2020! Praise him for standing up for America's future by not signing the continuing resolution bill that didn't allow any funds for "the Wall". And this time, no voice votes! America should know who loves America....and which Democrats just want to kiss Schumer's rear. Pelosi takes the House Speaker role in January and no wall funds will make it past her desk to be voted on.

From the "what a sick generation we've created" department - Online story: "Facebook user Alexis Work posted a video Saturday of a blond girl wearing a lavender sweater beating a 14-year-old student wearing a hijab inside a bathroom at Chartiers Valley High School in Bridgeville, Pa. According to Pittsburgh station WTAE, the girl wanted to vape inside the stall occupied by the Muslim student, who said it wasn’t allowed. * The blond girl said, according to Newsweek, “You’re lucky you’re from another language because I will crush you,” -- Whether it was the Facebook poster or not, the person who videoed this incident should have been charged with being a part of the assault.. What sick teens we have that stand ready before an incident happens ready to video the action rather than stepping in to help a fellow human being.. Oh... and as for the "blond" girl mention,, I've never seen a girl of Nordic descent with long dark roots...

I love what I'm seeing with American patriots stepping up to donate to "Build the Wall", but I'm not sold that doing it through "GoFundMe" is effective for anybody but the "GoFundMe" principles. Is there a specific escrow account we can send dob[nations that does not have people siphoning off "fees" for themselves?

---
Good grief.. Trump's pick for his new Attorney General is being eviscerated for having an opinion with clarity and a spine about Mueller. William Barr is exactly the right person we meed as the next Attorney General.

---
Seriously.. looking at the depth of scandals associated with Congressional politicians in Washington, we must pretty much conclude that they won't police themselves because for every stone they "cast", 534 would be thrown back at them.

---
Soapbox Moment: You know, the FMOC (a.k.a. "the Fed") has reins on our economy.. it's purpose is to keep inflationary pressure from building up by tightening money supply.. of course, if the "Fed" tightens the reins too early, it does damage to a growing economy. After years at keeping rates at "zero" for Obama, the "Fed" has raised rates 4 times this year..and inflation is not an issue... but the higher interest rates pretty much punch car and home buyer and sellers in the gut.. Two examples: on a $200,000.00 mortgage, house payments on a 3%, 30 year mortgage would be about $843.00 but the same $200,000 30 year mortgage at 6% would be about $1,200.00 .. Second example : Saw a Toyota presented on a Fox and Friends segment yesterday saying the base model Camry ($23,645.00) could be had for 36 months at a $219.00 lease rate, yet if you are "squeaky clean credit wise to be able to lease), a 4 year purchase at 0% would give you payments at $493, and at more likely interest rate payment at 10% would make your payments $600.00. This does not calculate what the slow downs in sales of cars and homes does to the economy and job markets.. The "Fed" can kill a country's growth and momentum quicker than any war..

From the "Hear Ye! Hear Ye!" department - Hmmm... screw the Hollywood leftists! How about signing up Kanye for Super Bowl halftime and let him recruit his co-talent...I'd probably watch this year.

Good grief! SEN. RUBIO is acting "little" again.. Trump is right to bring our soldiers home from Syria...we are not the world's police department...it's a job for the UN.

M/C L-E guest commentary headline/statement: "Republicans have no clue how to get women back * BY JENNIFER RUBIN * Washington Post * The Republican Party has become inhospitable to a large majority of female voters, and increasingly, to potential female candidates. In 2019, 42 freshmen women will enter Congress; a grand total of four of those are Republican women." -- Time will tell.. The Democrats probably don't realize that women on a mission to get get things done, do not won't other people .. men nor women... telling them what to do. and Pelosi's power is determined by getting all the Democrats be listen like sheep..

Burger King may want to rethink its recent price hike on the Double Whopper. It went from $4.69 to $4.99 and that's without any cheese. On the other hand, Wendy's Dave's Juicy Double comes with 2 slices of cheese for $5.19.. it's now a no-brainer..Wendy's.. for only .20 cents more than a Double Whopper, Wendy's gives you 2 cheese slices.

Rode by Columbus High to see the new wrestling/cheer practice facility progress..I was caught off guard...it's even worse than I had imagined possible..it looks like a prison guard tower designed by the Animal House fraternity who redesigned Flounder's uncle's Lincoln into the Deathmobile.

Speaking of Columbus High, not only is the new wrestling/cheer building going to ruin the outfield fence configuration, the whole field has been dug up for some sort of renovations ...where'd that money come from..it was announced earlier this year that ALL the various SPLOST 2015 funds for baseball improvements were being re-assigned to fund major overhauls at Jordan and Kendrick.

From the "legacy killer" department - Online story: "An associate of the late Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain shared with Buzzfeed News a copy of the unverified, salacious opposition research dossier alleging that Russians had compromising material on President Trump, according to a bombshell federal court filing Wednesday. * McCain had strenuously denied being the source for Buzzfeed after it published the dossier, which was funded by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. * Earlier this year, Fox News reported that a top McCain associate, David Kramer, had been briefed on the dossier written by British ex-spy Christopher Steele in late November 2016 in Surrey, England. Kramer invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination to avoid testifying before House Republicans about his handling of the dossier." -- This.. added to McCain's "no" on the ObamaCRAP repeal leave his legacy in shambles...

---
From the "Jerry Brown needs to be arrested!" department - Online story: "A California sheriff whose officers were led on a wild chase earlier this week by a twice-deported illegal immigrant killer says cops are “very frustrated” with sanctuary state laws preventing them from working with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents. * The comments from Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux come following the death of Gustavo Garcia, a 36-year-old who police say embarked on a 'reign of terror' robbing a convenience store, shooting and killing a person and firing at buildings before crashing a truck that he had stolen. The day-long crime spree that began Sunday in the Fresno area also left five injured, including one critical, and Lindsay Police suspect Garcia was involved in an additional murder there." -- The sheriff had him in custody, and ICE requested the killer be detained, but the sheriff had to release him based on "sanctuary city" status.. I hope the injured and families of the dead sue the hell out of Brown.. personally as well as for "malfeasance in office".

In Columbus, we just had a criminal case tried in Federal Court, and the convicted got a stiffer sentence than he would have gotten in a Superior Court trial...the defendant's lawyer tried to "save face" by complaining about this fact, "The fact that his case was moved into federal court added additional time to Walker's sentence, said his defense attorney Jennifer Curry. * "The fact that he was a career offender caused the points to add up and that's what hurt him," Curry said. * Curry said Walker would have gotten less time to serve in the state courts." -- You know.. other than the possibility of another "jury fail" not happening because of better jury pool screening in the Federal Court, this should be a wake call to our standards in selecting local jury pools.. I've mentioned this in the past on several occasions, but this lawyer just confirmed why we have more crimes committed by recidivism than the community should be subjected to...

---
I cannot believe that Frank Myers and John Thomas leave the MCSB seemingly defeated by what they didn't accomplish.. they should be proud of creating a more open forum that has awaken Columbus parents and students that more can... and should.. be done.. both have thrown a stone into the water, yet neither will see the final effects of the last ripples still moving toward their goals. Good job, men!

From the "how little the woman formerly know as Pocahontas know about government" department - M/C L-E Guest commentary headline: "Let government manufacture generic drugs * BY ELIZABETH WARREN * Washington Post" -- Good grief.. Sen Warren cannot name one government service provider which gives the public a value.. the Post Office is overwhelmed by UPS and FedEx et al, AMTRAK is a disaster, ands while our military is a powerful entity, buying practices leave much to be desired, and she thinks.. no.. "feels" government can produce generic medicines that Walmart can/would sell cheaper ..well, it ain't gonna happen!

Thursday, December 20, 2018

Have you seen any impartial analysis of the results Beto got by spending $80 MILLION during the Texas Senate campaign? TEXAS has 254 counties..and Beto won but 32 meaning Cruz won 222 TEXAS counties. Beto got a total of 48% of the votes. For $80 Million, Beto got at best..probably 4 or 6 percentage points of votes more than he'd have gotten had he spent zero dollars.

When will those offensive and useless "Giant Red Arrows" between Dinglewood Park and Lake Bottom Park be removed. The original intent was to put ads on them until someone 😎 brought it to Council's attention that doing so would make the "billboards" and not approved in that area.

---
Now that all the plans to reduce the traffic lanes on 13th St between 13th Ave and 10th Ave to make it more attractive for new businesses have been approved, how many new businesses have even inquired about opening up there?

---
A politician like Senator Schumer is a detriment to our country! His only interest in the 'Wall' is to get re-elected fighting it, while Trump's interest is fighting for the security..for now and the future..of our citizens and future citizens.

---
My BCers are the best! Just heard that the mystery construction at "the Wedge" at Forest and Wynnton will be an elevated "park bench"... Wow..can't you see folks plopping down to enjoy inhaling the exhaust fumes from our City and School buses.

Also, we may have a determination about the cause of death of the man found in he river last... no determination has been made, but probably not murder .. of course, the injury observed to the man's head was not clear enough to determine whether it was received before of after he was found in the river.. I think that makes it still an "open case" until the state autopsy confirms one way or the other. Back to square 1...

Oh! none of this information was provided by an elected City official... this is a major part of the problem...

---
What would happen if you put Michele Obama in the same ring with Hellary in a cage battle to determine which is the smartest.

---
Good grief! Now Republicans are swatting at a wiffle ball rather than stepping up to the plate trying to hit a game winning home run. Sen Barrasso feels a 'continuing resolution' moving the date government runs until Feb 8, 2019 rather than this week will "solve" the Wall issue! On the other hand, If we have a shutdown this week, the government can start off 2019 lean and clean, with no non-essential employees absorbing tax dollars until after the Wall gets properly funded..

---
Comey says he is/was PROUD of the FBI under his leadership...hmmm..will someone just ask him if he is/was PROUD of McCabe's, Strzok/Page's actions, and PROUD of the Fusion GPS Steele Dosier being used as the basis of FISA warrants to spy on Americans..

---
Haven't searched the entire route, but on Veterans Parkway between 38th Street and 22nd Street, there are 3 trailers used as non-temporary business concerns...and one is so decrepit that a "Big Red 'D' " should be painted on it. I thought trailers were restricted to certain zoning areas. These are i addition to the many eyesores I mentioned in Monday's Breakfast Club.

---
Oh! There's another blaring visual issue that Council needs to take care of now.. The abandoned GA Power Company building on Veterans Parkway.. What an enigma when industry scouts ride by and see GA Power has left Columbus, yet it still lights o]up the signs 24/7.. I guess GA Power wants that expense to report to the PSC to get our rates raised.
---
Seeing as soon-to-be-former-mayor-Tom-LYING-son won't be around to complete her River Road Roundabout, or the studies on the high-speed-rail system or the GA DOT/Columbus $200K study on why the Phenix City exits are THE problem with Columbus' J R Allen Parkway traffic issues, maybe Council should put a web page on the City site to keep us updated since we know Tom-LYING-son is certainly not going to mention the waste and failures on her Senate campaign website.

---
From the "make sure Mayor Tom-LYING-son doesn't get a whiff of this" department - A new tunnel...that's Elon Musk's latest innovation for travel...cars...electric only. mind you.....will be lowered by an elevator into a tunnel, then be whisked away at speeds up to 150 MPH to another elevator at a terminal destination. Hmmm..sounds pretty elitist to begin with, but who would want to be in a tunnel in California when an earthquake happens, but what happens when "life happens" while you're in the tunnel...you can't stop for a bathroom break, or divert to pick up the kids in the way home.

You know, Musk has a dream of "tunnels" running from "coast to coast". I'm a pretty savvy dreamer myself, but even at 150 MPH, it would take over 18 hours cooped up in an electric coupe in a tunnel to get from LA to NYC. Even allowing for some sort of induction battery charging, who can hold their bladder that long...and if you have kids....disaster!

---
Michigan Democrat Bill Kildee just pointed out the Democrats' greatest fear...being held accountable for the economy and border issues when 2020 comes around. They are going to have to get along with Trump instead of persecuting him.

---
My take on the 90 day extension of sentencing Flynn is the Judge does not believe Flynn's agreement with Mueller's "charges", and he wants Flynn to rethink the matter.. The Judge specified he'd never sentenced an innocent person..and I don't believe he plans to do so now.

---
The Fed just raised the interest rate for the 4th time this year... even though there's no inflation pressure to indicate it's needed. What's interesting is to to hear Obama talking about the economy under him was so much better than he's been given credit for... As I recall, the Fed dropped interest rates down to ZERO in Hope's of getting any kind of spark to jump start the economy then, and didn't raise them until AFTER Trump got our economy jumping!

---
From the "another one bites the dust" department - M/C L-E headline: " Outside World joins specialty retailers closing their doors on Broadway in Columbus" -- Hmmm...you know .. maybe we should count "dead" businesses in the murder column under Mayor Tom-LYING-son... after all, losing retail outlet "kills" our economy and sales tax collections and property tax digest.

---
From the "political correctness at its worse" department - Online headline: "Migrant caravan teens found stabbed to death in Tijuana" -- There are two regrettable crimes here.. the shameful murderous death of two illegal alien teens from Honduras in Mexico, and the continued misuse of the word "migrant". "Illegal aliens" and "migrants" are entirely different words.

---
Remember the outrage Sen Diane Feinstein regurgitated about the 7 year old girl who died within hours of her being taken into custody with a parent at the border for illegal entry? Well, here's the follow-up headline: "DHS: Seven-Year-Old Migrant Girl Died Of Sepsis, Not Dehydration" Please note, there has not.. nor will there EVER be, an apology to our DHS/Border Patrol agents by Senator Feinstein.. Shame on her.. but all too sadly, she is devoid of shame.

---
Online headline: "Bill Gates: “Millions Will Die” Because Of Global Warming" -- Yeah, right.. millions will die... of old age and natural causes...waiting for nothing to happen!
On the other hand, think about the millions who THOUGHT hey would die... waiting for early versions of "Windows" to "boot up"...

---
Online headline: "Dire report warns California condor could be wiped out under Trump administration" -- Wait a minute.. Trump didn't even campaign in California..how v[can he be blamed for what California does about its condor population.. Even WITH California's "care" the condor population does not flourish...Maybe California should BLAME ITSELF for not managing the forests there very well, and for the loss of food supply for the condors... not to mention the effect of all the smoke inhalation the condors must be subjected.

---
Democrats and MSM-13 are euphoric about the justice reform bill passed this week... yet neither Dems or mainscream media mention such was actually one of the campaign promises Trump made.. and is keeping. Obama and the Dems did nothing... nada.. zero.. to address it during Obama's two terms.

---
Online headline: "Trump: Mexico to 'indirectly' pay for border wall that US military will build " -- And Trump's right.. just think about how Mexico is now paying for the upkeep of illegal aliens that it didn't stop coming into Mexico at its Southern Border, and how much the US is saving from this "new arrangement". To boot, cash from America is not being sent to Mexico or other Central American economies.

---
From the "when reality meets fake news" department - Online headline/story: "Writer touted by CNN as 'Journalist of the Year' forced to resign for fabricating stories * The German magazine Der Spiegel revealed Wednesday that one of its top award-winning journalists fabricated many of his articles, inventing characters, sources, and their quotes “on a grand scale” for many years. * Claas Relotius, a reporter and editor, admitted to fabricating parts of at least 14 stories following the magazine’s internal investigation. The publication said the issue “marks a low point in the 70-year history of Der Spiegel.” -- "Claas Relotius"? A better.. more accurate name for him would be "No-Class Reporter Re-told-it-to-us"... and CNN passed it on in spite of Trump's warnings..

---
From the ""what a revolting development this is " department - M/C L-E story: "The District of Columbia sued Facebook on Wednesday for allowing data-mining firm Cambridge Analytica to improperly access data from as many as 87 million users." -- Can you imagine the betrayal Facebook's Mark 6uckerberg must feel at this moment? After all the money he's sent to Washington Democrats, now they want more and more...

---
Hmmm... looks like the "gang problem" Mayor Tom-LYING-son told us doesn't exist has moved itself into out local jail...stabbings and fights are prevalent enough to have more cameras installed...guess the cameras are necessary since no gang members will testify...Hey.. pardons and parole people.. violent crimes in jail should eliminate those felons from any consideration for any kind of early release..

---
From the "please don't throw me in that there brier patch" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "Fort Benning Estates property declared unsafe * e Columbus Consolidated Government took action against the property owner, Columbus Partners Community Trust, after inspectors found a lack of hot water, no sewage disposal on the site and no trash pickup. The city posted a sign declaring the property unsafe at 527 Farr Road after inspectors found no progress had been made on Dec. 4. * residents with no sewage disposal and trash pickup at Fort Benning Estates are looking for a new home before Jan. 3, 2019." -- Good grief.. the City has done the "dirty work" for the owners.. it would tale months for the owners to get evictions carried out . Let's face it,, with that trailer park sitting on prime development property as soon as the new I-185 exit/entry ramps are built, the owners could care less about the renters, and the City just did the owners a favor..

---
From the "promises made, promises kept" department - M/C L-E headline: "Trump orders all ground troops pulled from Syria" -- Republican.. say nothing.. let the Democrats destroy themselves... and as bonus, American soldiers can serve us on American soil.. at the border the Democrats don't believe needs "the Wall".

---
Round 1 of the D-! Football playoffs could be "feast or famine": for major sports organizations...Oklahoma's QB was awarded the Heisman and Notre Dame's Coach was named "Coach of the Year".. I could be wrong... but probably not, but neither Oklahoma not Notre Dame will make it pass the 1st round.

From the "MSM-13 rush to judgment" department - Wow! the conflictory statements by Judge Emmet Sullivan were "bombshells".. MSM-13 has chosen to jump at the phrase Flynn "sold your country out" from Sullivan's statement - “Arguably, you sold your country out,” the judge said. “I cannot assure you if we proceed today you will not receive a sentence of incarceration. I cannot hide my disgust, my disdain for this criminal offense.” - and ignore the "arguably" start, then ignore the key statement about Sullivan 'not ever sentencing an innocent man'. I do believe Judge Sullivan saw through Flynn's "admissions" of guilt as fear that there was something hanging over Flynn's head if he said anything contrary to what Mueller wanted. There's a lot more to come in the next 90 days.

---
From the "2019-2020 Senate becomes most important ever": department - Online story: "Senate overwhelmingly passes criminal justice overhaul * The Senate passed a sweeping criminal justice bill Tuesday that addresses concerns that the nation's war on drugs had led to the imprisonment of too many Americans for non-violent crimes without adequately preparing them for their return to society. * The bill gives judges more discretion when sentencing some drug offenders " -- "gives judges more discretion"? Whew! Thank goodness the Senate is stronger in Republicans than in the past few years.. and more conservative judges appointed by Trump will get confirmed.

---
From the "ding dong the witch is dead" department - Online headline: "The Clinton’s Resort To Groupon Due To Poor Ticket Sales, Tour Tickets Now Half Price or Less" -- Pretty soon they'll be available at Publix as a "BOGO - Buy One Get One" promotion.

---
There's no way America should be satisfied over a 10 year, $25-Billion dollar plan suggested by Democrats and RINOs. Illegal aliens costs are running currently at $130-Billion, and if that figure was static, we're talking $1.3 TRILLION dollars in funding illegal alien programs BEFORE we get the border secure. Think about this..we spend $25 Billion this year and over the next 10 years, $1.275 TRILLION tax dollars would stay in our pockets and our local economies.

---
We bought these Christmas lights at Sams (their private label), 10 days ago and here's a picture showing 5 sections failing.. there are two others I couldn't get in the picture.. I may have to re-evaluate my confidence in Sam's non-branded offerings..

--------------------------------------
Speaking of pictures.. Remember when Wells Fargo on 13th Street downtown was reproached by the "sign police" because of having two signs viewable from the same side.? Well, take a look at the "view" of signs view-able from 9th Street alone.. Two Mariott signs and 6.. yes 6, "Houlihans" signs.. and this doesn't count the ones on the entrance doors.

-------------------------
Probably the saddest aspect about MSM-13 fake news is that they all repeat it so much they end up believing it was the truth the first time they published it.

---
Hey.. forgot to mention Monday,, but do you suppose Council has awakened to the fact that GA DOT and Columbus do NOT need to spend $200,000.00 studying why the J.R. Allen Parkway gets jammed up going into Phenix City? From the west side of the bridge, it's ALABAMA's problem to solve!

You know.. if Alabama wants more.. better,, access to/from Georgia, maybe Alabama should offer to pay for the extra bridges.

---
When you parse the matter, MSM-13 and the establishment Democrats/RINOs are afraid of Trump.. not that he'll fail, but because he'll be successful at eliminating the problems that hold America back from returning to greatness.

---
From the "anachronism in action" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "Woman is captured following gunshots, blaze during five-hour standoff * As more smoke came from the house at 3:25 p.m., the negotiator’s voice got more strident: “Come on, Rhonda! You need to get out!” * The negotiator continued to plead as authorities moved in: “Come on, Rhonda! You need to get out! ... Come on sweetheart. * Come on out, honey. Come on out. We hear you. We know you’re OK.” -- ""sweetheart"? "honey"?.. While I'm glad.. grateful.. that the matter was solved without any injuries.. especially to our police and fired department.. I do wonder who trained the "negotiator"... "Flo" at Mel's Diner?

---
M/C L-E guest commentary headline/opening paragraph: "Democrats must look forward, not reach back * BY JAY BOOKMAN Atlanta Journal-Constitution * John Kerry has been a superb public servant, beginning with his heroic service in Vietnam and extending through a 28-year career in the Senate and a productive four-year stint as secretary of state. He is as qualified as anyone in U.S. history to serve as president of the United States." -- "his heroic service in Vietnam"? Good grief.. I guess Bookman read the rewrite of Kerry's history..as I remember, Kerry got sent back because he received 3 minor wounds which was an "automatic ticket" home.. it was suspected, due to the minor nature of some, that they wounds may have been "self-induced".. and then there was the "famous" photo of him tossing his "Purple Hearts" over the fence at the White House.. yet later we discover he still had them. And the same guy that ordered a new yacht.. then moored it in RI or CT for 6 months so he could avoid the huge taxes MA had on new yachts if he'd first registered them in MA.

---
M/C L-E story: "Some advertisers say they are leaving conservative host Tucker Carlson’s show following his remarks that immigrants could make the U.S. “poorer and dirtier.”" -- First. Carlson didn't say "immigrants make us "poorer and dirtier", but his own political correctness made him say "illegal immigrants" instead of "illegal aliens". Good grief.. Bowflex is one.. and it's about a genuine move as .. heck.. there's nothing genuine about Bowflex's move.. Christmas is upon us now, and Bowflex was winding down it's advertising program anyway..

Tuesday, December 18, 2018

From the "run that by me again" department - Online story: "Flynn's lawyers have suggested that investigators discouraged him from having an attorney present during the January 2017 interview and never informed him it was a crime to lie. Prosecutors shot back, "He does not need to be warned it is a crime to lie to federal agents the FBI, which approached Flynn at the White House just days after Trump's inauguration, played to his desire to keep the encounter quiet by telling him the quickest way to get the interview done was for him to be alone with the agents — rather than involve lawyers." * The mere insinuation of underhanded tactics was startling given the seemingly productive relationship between the two sides, and it was especially striking since prosecutors with special counsel Robert Mueller's office have praised Flynn's cooperation and recommended against prison time. * the FBI, which approached Flynn at the White House just days after Trump's inauguration, played to his desire to keep the encounter quiet by telling him the quickest way to get the interview done was for him to be alone with the agents — rather than involve lawyers." -- "the FBI, which approached Flynn at the White House just days after Trump's inauguration, played to his desire to keep the encounter quiet by telling him the quickest way to get the interview done was for him to be alone with the agents — rather than involve lawyers."? Excuse me? Does the Mueller team really expect us to believe that Attorney General Lynch didn't tell one lie about her airplane conversation with Bill Clinton, and Hellary didn't tell one lie to Comey himself

---
Online story: "A defiant James Comey lambasted congressional Republicans, accusing them of covering for President Trump by refusing to allow the former FBI director to testify publicly about decisions he made during the 2016 presidential election and the first few months of the Trump administration." -- Good grief.. I don't know how many times Comey "didn't remember/recall in yesterday's private hearing, but he said those phrases over 250 times previously... about the one thing his job was about.. KNOWING WHAT WAS GOING ON! You have to wonder how many of those "doesn't recall/remember" answers would have been "can't speak about classified info or ongoing investigations" because it was a public session.

You know, the more we hear/see about Comey's lack of character as the Director of the FBI, the more forgiving we can be about learning J. Edgar Hoover had some perversions.

---
From the "Bias? What bias?" department - Online headline: "Poll: Americans don't think Trump got message from midterms" -- Oh... what message was that.. that the Dems got back only 40 of the 66 House seats they lost in Obama's first mid-term election, or the message that the Senate gained 2 new Republican seats versus Democrats losing 6 in Obama's first midterm election? One thing Trump has not forgotten is to keep his promises. Trump 2020!

---
Can you believe it? GA Dem Hank Johnson..the guy who said Guam could tip over if we moved all our military equipment onto our base there, said he was 'concerned' that Jim Comey was going to be dragged through the mud on his handling of charges he didn't follow through on regarding Hellary. Of course Johnson has no trouble with Trump being dragged through the mud based on what Comey used improperly to create the investigation.

---
Seriously...why is the Columbus Water Works spending money to remind us to call (except on Dec 2$th & 25th, and Jan 1st...) if we have water issues.. Why is the CWW wasting money (other than to create expenses it can use to raise our rates.) It's not like the CWW has ANY competition it has to compete with for business...

---
Hey Columbus Council... inquiring minds want to know what is being built on the wedge of land created by shutting off the lane off Forest Ave at Wynnton Rd.. The three leading guesses are "a Bicycle Roundabout", another Queen TT Lounge", and "the first Tiny House".

---
Online headline: "Trump cancels White House Christmas party for the press" -- Gotta love Trump.. hey, he could have decided have it at a Trump Hotel, to charge them admission, serve only non-alcoholic beverages, and not show up at the event.. that's what the MSM-13 really deserves, but Trump is bigger than that.

---
Online headline/story: "Food Stamp Enrollment Drops in 47 States * over the past year, with 47 states reporting a decline in enrollment between September 2017 and September 2018, according to the most recent USDA data. * Food stamp enrollment went down the most in Texas, where 32.2 percent of food stamp recipients dropped out of the welfare program. * Only two states reported slight increases in enrollment during this time frame. Kansas reported a 3.2 percent increase in residents participating in SNAP, and Colorado reported a 1.6 increase in food stamp usage, according to the data. * The third state, Rhode Island, did not report its data to the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) because it has been experiencing issues reporting data on state-level food stamp participation since February 2017." -- Can't speak of what's going on in Kansas, or Rhode Island, but I imagine since Colorado legalized marijuana, a lot of SNAP users have experienced new urges for more munchies. Oh.. and no praise for the effect of Trump's economy or job growth.

---
From the "here's a ROSE that defies Shakespeare's reasoning" department - Online headline: "SC inmate sues because he's not allowed to smoke pot in prison
James Rose is currently in McCormick Correctional on a life sentence for a murder charge." -- South Carolina should see if a jail in Colorado might take Rose on a prisoner swap.. let Rose discover even in a state with legal marijuana, he ain't gonna get none..

---
Would it be fair to say that "Democrat Adam Schi** is full of himself?"

---
From the "and what difference does it make" department - Online headline: "California reverses course on plan to tax text messages * The proposal was withdrawn after a new FCC ruling limited states' authority over texting." -- Good grief.. like California abides by the Constitution we here in GA recognize at valid? My guess Google and Apple sent politicians letters withdrawing their support if they passed such.

---
From the "remember this from the White House meeting?" department - Online story: "The image of Pelosi strutting out of the White House meeting in a red wool jacket and pair of sunglasses quickly went viral, and even prompted the coat designer to bring back the discontinued piece." -- "red wool jacket..discontinued piece"? Guess you might say Pelosi dragged her old self out of the closet...

---
From the "this must be how liberals think" department - Online story: "A U.S. bankruptcy court on Friday reportedly approved Sears's request to pay as much as $25.3 million in bonuses to the company's top executives and high-ranking employees, just months after the company filed for bankruptcy. * The company behind Sears, Hoffman Estates, Ill.-based Sears Holdings Corp., argued it needed to give employees such a financial incentive to encourage them to remain with the company as it works to rebuild, despite it reporting nearly $1.9 billion in losses in the first three quarters of this year, CBS News reported." -- "needed to give employees such a financial incentive to encourage them to remain with the company as it works to rebuild"? Excuse me.. wanting to keep executives who were there for the "fall" seems "oxymoronish" to me...

Just saw where the 2019 Lincoln Continental was being made with "suicide doors"..That's what In wanted when I was shopping for a new vehicle when the Lincoln was reintroduced. Now, it must be mentioned, too, that to get decent rear leg room, you'll buy ave to get a customized extension to get the extra 6" that use to be standard on the discontinued Lincoln Continentals. The new ones come with only a 118" wheelbase and the old ones had a 124" wheelbase.

---
Have you been to soon-to-be-gone-Mayor Tom-LYING-son's website.. this is one of her "accomplishments" she posts braggadociously.. "Balanced the budget for the first time in 16 years using no reserve funds." -- What she doesn't say is she depleted so much of the Fund Balance during her 1st 7 years to make the MANDATORY Balanced Budget requirements written into Columbus' Charter. The rest of the claims are just as ambiguous of the whole truth..

---
What exactly do the Republicans expect to accomplish cross examining Comey at this point? Comey knows that Democrats take over in January, so why should he be concerned about lying or going to jail?

---
You know, a few weeks ago, the M/C L-E stated it wants to be more important in the community (as it should have been all along), and that changes would be coming.. Well, based on Columbus not knowing anything about the felon who assaulted/stabbed one of the Fish House Gang members earlier this month, little has changed in the L-E becoming a better citizen of Columbus.. Just think about how many more "eyes" there would be if Columbusites had info about the description of the felon...

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "Former deputy Sandra Davis tapped as new clerk of council * She served 18 years under Clerk of Council Tiny Washington, who has been on paid leave since Aug. 3, more than a week before the audit findings were released." -- Seriously, is this the best route Council can take? It seems having someone without a past working for/with the ousted Clerk of Council would be in the best interest of Columbus taxpayers.. Columbus needs to know that if new and/or confirming evidence is run across by the new Clerk of Council, that it won't be emotionally recovered up.

---
M/C L-E story: "Chelsea Clinton’s career as a children’s author continues with a picture book about endangered animals." -- Ooops....my bad.. thought she was writing a biography about her parents.

---
From the ":jury fail averted!" department - M/C L-E headline: "After juror replaced, dad found guilty of neglecting triplets" -- Thank you Columbus jurors and Judge Ben Land!

---
M/C L-E story: "The Russian influence campaign on social media in the 2016 election made an extraordinary effort to target African Americans, used an array of tactics to try to suppress turnout among Democratic voters, and unleashed a blizzard of posts on Instagram that rivaled or exceeded its Facebook operations, according to a report produced for the Senate Intelligence Committee." -- Well, it obviously had no effect in Columbus, so why would anyone conclude it had any effect nationwide?
