From the "run that by me again" department - Online story: "Flynn's lawyers have suggested that investigators discouraged him from having an attorney present during the January 2017 interview and never informed him it was a crime to lie. Prosecutors shot back, "He does not need to be warned it is a crime to lie to federal agents the FBI, which approached Flynn at the White House just days after Trump's inauguration, played to his desire to keep the encounter quiet by telling him the quickest way to get the interview done was for him to be alone with the agents — rather than involve lawyers." * The mere insinuation of underhanded tactics was startling given the seemingly productive relationship between the two sides, and it was especially striking since prosecutors with special counsel Robert Mueller's office have praised Flynn's cooperation and recommended against prison time. * the FBI, which approached Flynn at the White House just days after Trump's inauguration, played to his desire to keep the encounter quiet by telling him the quickest way to get the interview done was for him to be alone with the agents — rather than involve lawyers." -- "the FBI, which approached Flynn at the White House just days after Trump's inauguration, played to his desire to keep the encounter quiet by telling him the quickest way to get the interview done was for him to be alone with the agents — rather than involve lawyers."? Excuse me? Does the Mueller team really expect us to believe that Attorney General Lynch didn't tell one lie about her airplane conversation with Bill Clinton, and Hellary didn't tell one lie to Comey himself

Online story: "A defiant James Comey lambasted congressional Republicans, accusing them of covering for President Trump by refusing to allow the former FBI director to testify publicly about decisions he made during the 2016 presidential election and the first few months of the Trump administration." -- Good grief.. I don't know how many times Comey "didn't remember/recall in yesterday's private hearing, but he said those phrases over 250 times previously... about the one thing his job was about.. KNOWING WHAT WAS GOING ON! You have to wonder how many of those "doesn't recall/remember" answers would have been "can't speak about classified info or ongoing investigations" because it was a public session.

You know, the more we hear/see about Comey's lack of character as the Director of the FBI, the more forgiving we can be about learning J. Edgar Hoover had some perversions.

From the "Bias? What bias?" department - Online headline: "Poll: Americans don't think Trump got message from midterms" -- Oh... what message was that.. that the Dems got back only 40 of the 66 House seats they lost in Obama's first mid-term election, or the message that the Senate gained 2 new Republican seats versus Democrats losing 6 in Obama's first midterm election? One thing Trump has not forgotten is to keep his promises. Trump 2020!

Can you believe it? GA Dem Hank Johnson..the guy who said Guam could tip over if we moved all our military equipment onto our base there, said he was 'concerned' that Jim Comey was going to be dragged through the mud on his handling of charges he didn't follow through on regarding Hellary. Of course Johnson has no trouble with Trump being dragged through the mud based on what Comey used improperly to create the investigation.

Seriously...why is the Columbus Water Works spending money to remind us to call (except on Dec 2$th & 25th, and Jan 1st...) if we have water issues.. Why is the CWW wasting money (other than to create expenses it can use to raise our rates.) It's not like the CWW has ANY competition it has to compete with for business...

Hey Columbus Council... inquiring minds want to know what is being built on the wedge of land created by shutting off the lane off Forest Ave at Wynnton Rd.. The three leading guesses are "a Bicycle Roundabout", another Queen TT Lounge", and "the first Tiny House".

---
Online headline: "Trump cancels White House Christmas party for the press" -- Gotta love Trump.. hey, he could have decided have it at a Trump Hotel, to charge them admission, serve only non-alcoholic beverages, and not show up at the event.. that's what the MSM-13 really deserves, but Trump is bigger than that.

Online headline/story: "Food Stamp Enrollment Drops in 47 States * over the past year, with 47 states reporting a decline in enrollment between September 2017 and September 2018, according to the most recent USDA data. * Food stamp enrollment went down the most in Texas, where 32.2 percent of food stamp recipients dropped out of the welfare program. * Only two states reported slight increases in enrollment during this time frame. Kansas reported a 3.2 percent increase in residents participating in SNAP, and Colorado reported a 1.6 increase in food stamp usage, according to the data. * The third state, Rhode Island, did not report its data to the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) because it has been experiencing issues reporting data on state-level food stamp participation since February 2017." -- Can't speak of what's going on in Kansas, or Rhode Island, but I imagine since Colorado legalized marijuana, a lot of SNAP users have experienced new urges for more munchies. Oh.. and no praise for the effect of Trump's economy or job growth.

From the "here's a ROSE that defies Shakespeare's reasoning" department - Online headline: "SC inmate sues because he's not allowed to smoke pot in prison
James Rose is currently in McCormick Correctional on a life sentence for a murder charge." -- South Carolina should see if a jail in Colorado might take Rose on a prisoner swap.. let Rose discover even in a state with legal marijuana, he ain't gonna get none..

Would it be fair to say that "Democrat Adam Schi** is full of himself?"

---
From the "and what difference does it make" department - Online headline: "California reverses course on plan to tax text messages * The proposal was withdrawn after a new FCC ruling limited states' authority over texting." -- Good grief.. like California abides by the Constitution we here in GA recognize at valid? My guess Google and Apple sent politicians letters withdrawing their support if they passed such.

---
From the "remember this from the White House meeting?" department - Online story: "The image of Pelosi strutting out of the White House meeting in a red wool jacket and pair of sunglasses quickly went viral, and even prompted the coat designer to bring back the discontinued piece." -- "red wool jacket..discontinued piece"? Guess you might say Pelosi dragged her old self out of the closet...

From the "this must be how liberals think" department - Online story: "A U.S. bankruptcy court on Friday reportedly approved Sears's request to pay as much as $25.3 million in bonuses to the company's top executives and high-ranking employees, just months after the company filed for bankruptcy. * The company behind Sears, Hoffman Estates, Ill.-based Sears Holdings Corp., argued it needed to give employees such a financial incentive to encourage them to remain with the company as it works to rebuild, despite it reporting nearly $1.9 billion in losses in the first three quarters of this year, CBS News reported." -- "needed to give employees such a financial incentive to encourage them to remain with the company as it works to rebuild"? Excuse me.. wanting to keep executives who were there for the "fall" seems "oxymoronish" to me...

Just saw where the 2019 Lincoln Continental was being made with "suicide doors"..That's what In wanted when I was shopping for a new vehicle when the Lincoln was reintroduced. Now, it must be mentioned, too, that to get decent rear leg room, you'll buy ave to get a customized extension to get the extra 6" that use to be standard on the discontinued Lincoln Continentals. The new ones come with only a 118" wheelbase and the old ones had a 124" wheelbase.

Have you been to soon-to-be-gone-Mayor Tom-LYING-son's website.. this is one of her "accomplishments" she posts braggadociously.. "Balanced the budget for the first time in 16 years using no reserve funds." -- What she doesn't say is she depleted so much of the Fund Balance during her 1st 7 years to make the MANDATORY Balanced Budget requirements written into Columbus' Charter. The rest of the claims are just as ambiguous of the whole truth..

What exactly do the Republicans expect to accomplish cross examining Comey at this point? Comey knows that Democrats take over in January, so why should he be concerned about lying or going to jail?

You know, a few weeks ago, the M/C L-E stated it wants to be more important in the community (as it should have been all along), and that changes would be coming.. Well, based on Columbus not knowing anything about the felon who assaulted/stabbed one of the Fish House Gang members earlier this month, little has changed in the L-E becoming a better citizen of Columbus.. Just think about how many more "eyes" there would be if Columbusites had info about the description of the felon...

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "Former deputy Sandra Davis tapped as new clerk of council * She served 18 years under Clerk of Council Tiny Washington, who has been on paid leave since Aug. 3, more than a week before the audit findings were released." -- Seriously, is this the best route Council can take? It seems having someone without a past working for/with the ousted Clerk of Council would be in the best interest of Columbus taxpayers.. Columbus needs to know that if new and/or confirming evidence is run across by the new Clerk of Council, that it won't be emotionally recovered up.

---
M/C L-E story: "Chelsea Clinton’s career as a children’s author continues with a picture book about endangered animals." -- Ooops....my bad.. thought she was writing a biography about her parents.

---
From the ":jury fail averted!" department - M/C L-E headline: "After juror replaced, dad found guilty of neglecting triplets" -- Thank you Columbus jurors and Judge Ben Land!

---
M/C L-E story: "The Russian influence campaign on social media in the 2016 election made an extraordinary effort to target African Americans, used an array of tactics to try to suppress turnout among Democratic voters, and unleashed a blizzard of posts on Instagram that rivaled or exceeded its Facebook operations, according to a report produced for the Senate Intelligence Committee." -- Well, it obviously had no effect in Columbus, so why would anyone conclude it had any effect nationwide?
