From the "let's reword this and get to the truth" department - HuffPOOPOO story: "James Comey, the former director of the FBI, speculated Sunday that if President Donald Trump weren’t the leader of the country he’d be “in serious jeopardy of being charged” as part of the government’s sweeping indictments of the lawyer Michael Cohen." -- Hmmm.. you know, if Comey hadn't been doing the wishes of Obama and Hellary, Comey would have been arrested BEFORE Trump won.

From the "Making America Great Again" department - Online headline/story: "President Trump reportedly approves $750BN defense budget after telling departments to cut spending * In October, Trump floated a $700 billion defense budget, which was in line with government-wide belt-tightening, and ordered all department heads to slash their budgets by 5% for 2020. * The President gave the go-ahead to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to submit a $750 billion budget proposal for fiscal year 2020" -- Whatta masterful efficiency ploy! Tell the Defense Department to cut 5% to eliminate waste, then give it back with a BONUS so the Defense Department could get more of what it really needs! Trump 2020!

---
From the "it's not one world" department - Online headline/story: "Transcript of audio recording from Jamal Khashoggi's murder reportedly describes him gasping for air in his last moments * A source, who was briefed on the investigation and read a translated transcript of the recording from the October 2 killing, told CNN that the audio suggests a carefully planned execution, and not a botched interrogation as previously touted by the Saudis. * The transcript also describes "sawing" and "cutting" that can be heard on the audio tape along with the screaming. " -- And mainscream media (a.k.a. MSM-13) and Pelosi and Schumer were upset at Trump's immigration ban on multiple Muslim countries and horrified at terrorists held at Guantanamo were subjected to "water boarding".

From the fire him and send him to "sensitivity school" department - Online story: "About 300,000 people in the U.S. southeast were without power on Monday and hundreds of flights were canceled after a storm dumped 20 inches of snow and left one motorist dead.
* "This remains a dangerous system even as it moves off the coast," said lead NWS forecaster Michael Schichtel. "It's slow to move off the Carolinas but a saving grace is that it won't hit New England." -- "saving grace that it won't hit New England"! Whatta liberal SNOB and (_@_)!

From the "maybe it's not poverty that's the determining factor" department - Online story: "1. Irvine, California
> Violent crimes per 100,000: 61.2
> 2017 murders: 2
> Poverty rate: 12.7%
> 2017 unemployment rate: 3.4%

There were just 169 violent crimes in Irvine, California — a city of over a quarter million people — in 2017. Adjusted for the population, the city’s violent crime rate of 61 incidents per 100,000 residents is the lowest of any city tracked by the FBI.
Like other safe cities, Irvine’s job market is strong. The city’s annual unemployment rate of 3.4% " -- Hmmm... 2 murders, unemployment rate of 3.4%, poverty rate of 12.7%.. must be some other factor .. perhaps Irvine, CA has better political leadership than Columbus...

---
Surely, by now, there is some sort of description the public can be told about the assailant of Fish House Gang dinner attendee Dan Parker..

---
Did you hear that? The cha-ching as wage growth moved upwards...and Obama..when he said...what's that noise?

---
I hope everyone caught the National Anthem sung before Saturday's Army-Navy game in Philadelphia... and also noted none of the players, students, cheerleaders, or alumni knelt in protest.

---
James Comey had one job...to know how investigations are started and ended. How come he's answered some 200 questions with "I don't know" and "I don't recall".

---
You know, the original River Road Roundabout after being proposed in 2012, and was suppose to be built in 2014 with $1.5 MILLION in "state funds", but it's now finally under construction,, well under pre-construction, and it's going to cost $4,6 MILLION out of Columbus funds.

---
A lot of action has been seen at the River Road Roundabout site in the last two weeks.. tree areas stripped, big machinery dropped off to look like a rental company, huge amounts of sand, gravel, drainage pipes, and #10 Screenings to make it look like a landscaping supply company, added to the plethora of orange barrels.. and after 8 weeks.. that's it... after 1/13th period of a $4.6 million budget ($over $353K).

Oh, and other "unfinished bidness" in Columbus.. still no accountability for the Mayor's wreck, still not sure whether the man pulled out of the river in August was murdered or not, and it's now 30 weeks since Zeph Baker promised to turn in his Campaign Disclosures prior to the May 22 election date. Speaking of Zeph Baker.. does ANYONE have a clue as to where he rests his head at night?

Online story: "Comey also used the occasion to take aim at Trump's public barbs at the criminal justice system, saying "we have become numb to lying and attacks on the rule of law by the president," and Trump's suggestion that it should be a crime for subjects to "flip" and cooperate with investigators. * It's a shocking suggestion coming from any senior official, no less the president. It's a critical and legitimate part of the entire justice system in the United States," Comey said." -- What a warped sense of power has evolved with the politics of government! Trump was elected by the people and is doing what he promised the people he would do...Comey. on the other hand, was appointed by a president, and was doing what the president wanted. The FBI should be the guardian of our country's laws, not the President's "people".

---
Online headline: "Oklahoma's Kyler Murray beats out Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa to win Heisman Trophy" -- Hmmm... well, the Heisman Committee has pretty much neutered itself, and it's future if Oklahoma doesn't beat Alabama in the opening round of the Championship series...

---
Online headline/story: "Trump slams Macron's idea of a 'real European army' * “The idea of a European Military didn’t work out too well in W.W. I or 2. But the U.S. was there for you, and always will be. All we ask is that you pay your fair share of NATO. Germany is paying 1% while the U.S. pays 4.3% of a much larger GDP – to protect Europe. Fairness!” he wrote on Twitter. * Trump tweeted about the matter last month as well.* “Emmanuel Macron suggests building its own army to protect Europe against the U.S., China and Russia. But it was Germany in World Wars One & Two – How did that work out for France? They were starting to learn German in Paris before the U.S. came along. Pay for NATO or not!” Trump wrote." -- Trump 2020!

Online headline: "Cruelty of El Chapo's Sinaloa cartel knows no bounds: Beheadings by chainsaw, body parts strewn in the streets" -- And Democrats feel that we don't need "the WALL"! They are SICK!

---
We watch a lot of Hallmark movies...a lot of people do also...now...especially during the season of snowy Christmas movies. Now, why don't we 'see' their breath when they are outside and talking, or the exhaust from cars?

---
Looks like ObamaCRAP will die on it's own lack of merit since the fine has been eliminated. Several million fewer than expected (well, by dubiously informed Democrats) have enrolled in ObamaCRAP. Just shows how far Democrats went to try to convince MSM-13 that it was popular.

---
You know.. if we speak up loud enough, we do get the number of murders reported in Columbus, but what we don't get is the number of shootings/murder attempts that happen, too. The combined totals would be sobering...

Columbus Council Agenda: "First reading - An ordinance amending Section 4-63 of the Columbus Code to provide that the Columbus Aquatics Commission will meet bimonthly instead of monthly; and for other purposes. (Mayor Pro-Tem Pugh)" - You know... I've found that when a commission wants to lessen the number of meetings it's because of two things.. frustration with results, or frustration with results... I imagine the commission wants to meet less is that it's frustrated with results and see no path for improvement...

Columbus Council Agenda: ACCEPTANCE OF STATE FARMERS MARKER PROPERTY LOCATED AT 318 10TH AVENUE: Approval is requested to accept the property located at 318 10th Ave. from the state of Georgia and also to submit an EPA grant for up to $500,000 and if approved, accept and amend the Multi-Governmental Fund for the awarded amount. The property is an abandoned Farmers Market owned by the state of Georgia. The state of Georgia wishes to quit claim these properties to the Columbus Consolidated Government. On Dec. 1, 2017, the city received a letter from the Riverdale-Porterdale Cemetery Foundation Inc. requesting that we partner with them in acquiring this property to be used as a park that would connects River-dale Cemetery to Porterdale Cemetery. They would also like to eventually construct a columbarium on the site. The letter states that the Columbus Consolidated Government will have no financial obligation for the proposed improvements which will be paid for by the foundation." -- First, just curious, so I looked up "columbarium"... A columbarium is a place for the respectful and usually public storage of cinerary urns, but can also mean the nesting boxes of pigeons. The term comes from the Latin "columba" and, originally, solely referred to compartmentalized housing for doves and pigeons called a dovecote.... seems appropriate... I am curious about who is involved with the Riverdale-Porterdale Cemetery Foundation Inc. .. and how it is funded.. seems like it could be a mighty big assumption for the Riverdale-Porterdale Cemetery Foundation Inc. to take full responsibility for all the financial obligations down the road...

---
It's bad enough the the M/C L-E benefits from Talbot County having to post a legal ad for bids in the L-E, but how come Talbot County is improving it's streets and Columbus isn't?

---
From the "bias... no ..stupid..." department - Online headline: "Court filings present Trump as key figure in multiple federal investigations" -- Good grief.. Mueller has spent the better part of 2-years and $20-$25 MILLION, and Mainscream Media feels that all-of-a-sudden Trump is the focus? Even MSM-13 must feel letdown at Mueller's filings...

---
Online headline/story: "Walmart CEO reveals why Trump's trade war with China still has him worried over rising prices * Walmart CEO Doug McMillon told CNBC that consumers will take the hit if the US trade war with China escalates." -- Good grief.. All greedy McMillon is concerned with is Walmart's "bottom line" and the EASIEST way to make himself look good! Trump has already lowered taxes (and plans another one) so American consumers have more money in their pockets. and tariffs to even-out-the-field will lower taxes additionally that we are already paying to subsidize foreign goods, and ... and... jobs are returning for MORE Americans!

---
You know.. Walmart still hadn't figured out that if all it offers is "low prices", what happens when so many of the customers cannot find jobs and have no money to spend regardless of how low prices are?

---
From the "bias... no.. really stupid" department - Online headline: "Trump voters were 'gullible' in 2016 election, NBC’s Chuck Todd says" -- 'gullible"? What liberal BS! Trump EARNED every vote by convincing Americans he would get things don.. the truly gullible people are those who ever thought Hellary was "the smartest woman in the world".

---
Online headline/story: "Paris on lockdown amid expectations of more anti-Macron clashes * Paris was on lockdown early Saturday as thousands of security officers were deployed there and in other parts of the country for potential clashes against yellow-jacketed protesters. * Shops and tourist destinations, including the Eiffel Tower, were to be closed and soccer matches were canceled as authorities looked to maintain order * Macron swept into power in 2017, having emerged out of obscurity less than a year earlier. * Macron was a missing man as his government tried to curb the chaos caused in part by his unpopular gas-tax plan." -- This is what America could have looked like if ANYONE but Trump became our President! You may quote me on this.. I will not wish for Trump to curtail or moderate his tweets anymore.. his tweets let America KNOW he is on the job.. not AWOL..fighting.. for us and for Making America Great Again!

---
Online headline/story: "James Comey will return for more Hill testimony, as Trump rips ex-FBI director * After Friday’s session concluded, the president tore into Comey amid reports Comey’s lawyers, including one from the Justice Department, have prevented him from answering a number of questions." --- "have prevented him (Comey) from answering a number of questions"? You know.. forget the 5th Amendment rights.. Comey was the head of the FBI, and any question his lawyers won't let him answer are an indictment that Comey was not adhering to FBI policies of holding everyone accountable. I'm encouraged that Trump is calling Comey out on this as well.

---
From the "Socialist approach to governance" department - Online story: "Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., blasted Donald Trump Jr. in a tweet on Friday after he posted a meme suggesting her democratic socialist ideology would cause Americans to start eating dogs. * "I have noticed that Junior here has a habit of posting nonsense about me whenever the Mueller investigation heats up," she tweeted, referring to special counsel Robert Mueller. "Please, keep it coming Jr — it's definitely a 'very, very large brain' idea to troll a member of a body that will have subpoena power in a month. Have fun!" -- Hmmm .. not even seated and already wielding a subpoena power threat she cannot keep.. Now... is there anyone in doubt of why the Founding Fathers put so much emphasis in the simplicity of the 2nd Amendment.. Jefferson warmed us that our own government with liberals in charge could be our greatest enemy...we've already hear one Democrat Congressman say he'd not hesitate to order US soldiers to attack US citizens if he didn't get his way.

---
From the "my guess is that this judge is not from District 9" department - Online headline/story: "Judge orders more fact-finding in Clinton email case * The email controversy that dogged Hillary Clinton through much of the 2016 presidential race could well be kicking around through the 2020 contest after a federal judge ordered additional fact-finding into whether Clinton’s use of the private email system was a deliberate effort to thwart the Freedom of Information Act. * In a scathing opinion issued Thursday, U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth said that despite FBI, inspector general and congressional investigations into Clinton’s use of a private account for all her email traffic during her four years as secretary of state, the conservative group Judicial Watch should be permitted to demand documents and additional testimony about the practice. * He blasted Clinton’s email practices as “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency.” -- There's a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel! Finally, a course of justice that will not get lost in a Democrat led committee starting this January.

My bride and I watch a lot of Hallmark movies...a lot of people do...now...especially during the plethora of snowy Christmas movies. Now, why don't we 'see' their breath when they are outside and talking, or the exhaust from cars driving by?

Looks like ObamaCRAP will die on it's own lack of merit since the fine has been eliminated. Several million fewer than expected (well, by dubiously-informed Democrats) have enrolled in ObamaCRAP. Just shows how far Democrats went to try to convince MSM-13 that it was popular.

From the "show me the money" department - Online headline: "Beto O'Rourke raised $80 million total for Ted Cruz challenge, left little in bank" -- The Democrats raised $80 Million.. and spent $79.5 MILLION on Beto.. ,,, and lost.. and even that amount did little to help down-ballot Democrats in other races.. Gov. Abbott demolished his opponent 56%-43%, and Democrat midterm gain in the House was but 3..(Now there are 23 Republican House members and 13 Democrats... which would probably be the picture even if Beto had not wasted $79.5 MILLION)

---
Online headline: " Nick Saban’s revealing explanation of why he voted Georgia football No. 5" -- Good grief.. It ain't rocket science...Saban didn't want to play GA again!

---
Jessica Tarnov ..the Democrat spinmeister Fox gives too much time to, ..I'm not sure whether it's her raspy liberal "spin/mantra" that irritates me or the whiny nasal twang of her voice... regardless, the combination is not worthy of being aired, so I switch to another channel as fast as I can..

---
Since Kevin Hart had to drop out as the Oscar's host, and in only 3 months a new host has to be picked, I'm going to recommend that Robert De Niro's ex be chosen...She'd probably do it for free to get to talk to Hollywood about De Niro.

---
From the "suspicions confirmed" department- Congressman Nadler is on the record that when he takes over the House Committee investigating Comey and the Clinton's, he will "drive a stake into the heart of these investigations" Thank God Nadler cannot dismiss the Hellary actions just ruled on by Judge Royce Lamberth!

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "Virginia College leaves students without a plan after suddenly closing all campuses * The school, geared toward non-traditional students and adults seeking job skills, has for years been affected by lower enrollment numbers and low job placement rates, according to letters from accreditation agencies and court records." -- Well... looks like Virginia College was a product of doom fed by too many remedial needs students, trying to learn jobs Obama had run out of America.. Too bad Virginia College could not hang on while the Trump economy was creating jobs VC grads could fill. Maybe now some older grads will finally find jobs Trump is creating.

From the "be sure and watch!" department - M/C headline/story: "Columbus family to star in next episode of HGTV reality series ‘House Hunters’ * Premiering at 9 p.m. EST Tuesday, the “Lighting Up the Holidays” episode will star 1995 Carver High School graduate Alida Abdullah and her husband, Shakeer, as they search for a home to accommodate them and their four children, ages 4-12. They moved from Minnesota to the Atlanta suburb of Fairburn. * Alida’s father is retired Carver football and track coach Wallace Davis, a Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame member. Davis and his wife, Ann, also appear in the episode, which includes scenes shot at the Davis home in Columbus." --Should be fun! Mark your calendars and set your iPhones alarm/alert!

---
From the "deterioration of language and definitions" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "Deputy stops pickup truck on I-85, seizes $375,000 in meth * A Troup County Sheriff’s Deputy seized 28 pounds of methamphetamine after a pickup truck driven by an illegal immigrant was stopped with an obstructed tag Thursday on Interstate 85 in LaGrange, authorities said." -- "illegal immigrant"? NO! He's an ILLEGAL ALIEN. and so are all the caravaners in Mexico from countries from the South who are trying to enter the US without following our laws and protocol!

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "Trump’s former fixer should go to prison, prosecutors say * Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former lawyer, should receive a “substantial” prison term of roughly four years, despite his cooperation, federal prosecutors in New York said Friday." -- Good grief.. Cohen should get "life" for recording his client without knowledge, and the NY Governor who signed such an invasion of privacy act into law should be his cellmate!

---
M/C L-E commentary headline: "Bugs Bunny, Mickey: Cartoon icons dominate Columbus write-in votes" -- Hmmm... and maybe the voters picked the best candidate in some of those races...at least they didn't vote for the Democrat in them.

---
M/C L-E headline: "City says Forrest Road pothole repaired" -- There's an adage that says that "The longest journey begins with a single step". Well, looks like the City has taken one step.. and one step only, of an arduous journey to make Columbus streets safe for drivers, an asset for homeowners and an attraction for businesses looking for new locations to build. (Not holding my breath for the next step).
