Have you seen any impartial analysis of the results Beto got by spending $80 MILLION during the Texas Senate campaign? TEXAS has 254 counties..and Beto won but 32 meaning Cruz won 222 TEXAS counties. Beto got a total of 48% of the votes. For $80 Million, Beto got at best..probably 4 or 6 percentage points of votes more than he'd have gotten had he spent zero dollars.

Good grief! Now Republicans are swatting at a wiffle ball rather than stepping up to the plate trying to hit a game winning home run. Sen Barrasso feels a 'continuing resolution' moving the date government runs until Feb 8, 2019 rather than this week will "solve" the Wall issue! On the other hand, If we have a shutdown this week, the government can start off 2019 lean and clean, with no non-essential employees absorbing tax dollars until after the Wall gets properly funded..

Haven't searched the entire route, but on Veterans Parkway between 38th Street and 22nd Street, there are 3 trailers used as non-temporary business concerns...and one is so decrepit that a "Big Red 'D' " should be painted on it. I thought trailers were restricted to certain zoning areas. These are i addition to the many eyesores I mentioned in Monday's Breakfast Club.

What an enigma when industry scouts ride by and see GA Power has left Columbus, yet it still lights o]up the signs 24/7.. From the "make sure Mayor Tom-LYING-son doesn't get a whiff of this" department - A new tunnel...that's Elon Musk's latest innovation for travel...cars...electric only. mind you.....will be lowered by an elevator into a tunnel, then be whisked away at speeds up to 150 MPH to another elevator at a terminal destination. Hmmm..sounds pretty elitist to begin with, but who would want to be in a tunnel in California when an earthquake happens, but what happens when "life happens" while you're in the tunnel...you can't stop for a bathroom break, or divert to pick up the kids in the way home.

 

You know, Musk has a dream of "tunnels" running from "coast to coast". I'm a pretty savvy dreamer myself, but even at 150 MPH, it would take over 18 hours cooped up in an electric coupe in a tunnel to get from LA to NYC. Even allowing for some sort of induction battery charging, who can hold their bladder that long...and if you have kids....disaster!

My take on the 90 day extension of sentencing Flynn is the Judge does not believe Flynn's agreement with Mueller's "charges", and he wants Flynn to rethink the matter.. The Judge specified he'd never sentenced an innocent person..and I don't believe he plans to do so now.

The Fed just raised the interest rate for the 4th time this year... even though there's no inflation pressure to indicate it's needed. What's interesting is to to hear Obama talking about the economy under him was so much better than he's been given credit for... As I recall, the Fed dropped interest rates down to ZERO in Hope's of getting any kind of spark to jump start the economy then, and didn't raise them until AFTER Trump got our economy jumping!
