Repeat: Council has a Charter Review coming up.. four things need to be addressed.. getting our local elections and all tax referendums to beheld only on the November General Election date, and making ONLY the first and second place finishers be eligible in a runoff for any election that isn't won outright during the General Election. Elaine Gillespie's ego cost Columbus taxpayer's $50,000.00 this week! he third item is clarifying that Council cannot delegate it's subpoena power to a non-elected Commission. This local power should only be entrusted to elected officials so there is recourse for the voters. The fourth concerns Commissions and Authorities.. when people are selected to a Commission or Authority by a Councilor or Mayor, who retires, resigns, or get defeated in another election, those appointees be automatically removed and new ones appointed by the new Councilor or Mayor.. Nothing precludes those prior members from being re-appointed to serve their existing terms.
