March has been an emotional roller coaster ride for our family, especially for my wonderful wife, 3 daughters and our 10 year old granddaughter (our 4 grandsons are too young to fully comprehend "loss") .. Earlier this month, we had to say good-bye to my mom-in-law of the past 22 years.. a woman best described in portions of Proverbs 31:10-31.. then this past Thursday, we learned our daughters' bio-dad had suddenly passed and dealt another emotional blow to an already reeling us...through it all, God made known HIS presence in so many ways. God is good.. all he time...

Governor Kemp proved himself to be more "Shemp (as in the 3 Stooges)" than Kemp last Friday when he signed a bill to immediately stop collecting the state excise tax of 29.4-cents a gallon on gasoline.. as I predicted.. few stations reduced their sales prices.. Pictured are pump prices at the Shell station on Williams Roar on Saturday, the day after the tax was temporarily removed...

Regular was still $4.299

but look at High-test.. $5.299...

mind you .. this is Columbus, GA, not california!

To boot, these prices were still on the pumps on Monday evening when we returned home..

From the "what happened?" department - Online story: "Columbus, Georgia *
The birthplace of Coca-Cola and the home of Columbus State University, Columbus is rich in American history. Located in the US state of Georgia along the banks of the Chattahoochee River, Columbus remains a great example of a true river city that ranked among the top industrial centers of the South throughout the early 1900s." -- "among the top industrial centers of the South throughout the early 1900s."? The 1900s? What happened! Looks like Council and the Chamber of Commerce should be more proactive of Columbus' strengths!

From the "is he really this stupid?" department - Online "headLIE": "Sen. Ossoff working to protect Georgians Constitutional right to a lawyer" -- DOH? Sen Ossoff is "Oh-so-off". He needs a refresher course on Constitutional law where the right to a lawyer for defense in a criminal case is ALREADY assured... guaranteed... by our 6th Constitutional Amendment! I guess Senator Oh-so-off's next move will be to walk down Stone Mountain carrying stone tablets with the Commandments written by God...

Online headline: 'The Biden administration has flirted with lifting oil sanctions on once-shunned Venezuela to temper surging oil prices yet it appears unwilling to encourage investment in domestic energy production." -- Hey, Joe.. just say "NO!" to CITGO!

---
Online headline: "Biden goes for bike ride at the beach as Ukraine president warns of 'third world war'" -- Of course he rides a bike... JoKKKe Biden "ran out of gas" long before he became the White House "handlers" Messenger Boy....and what
s next.. send Blimps over to Ukraine for Air Defense?

---
Online headline: "Some Colorado high schools are doing away with 'valedictorian' *
Cherry Creek School District will no longer highlight valedictorians at graduation because ‘learning is not a competition’ -- Hmmm.. "not competition"? Hmmm... Then I guess elite schools can do away with their scholarship committees and just issue tuition awards on a first-come-first-served diversity basis....I guess some Colorado schools will do away with keeping score in sports, grades in classrooms... and allow men to compete as women... Huh? Did I miss something last week when I was off-the-grid?

WRBL-TV3 story: "COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Stacey Abrams made a stop in Midtown Columbus on Friday. * The politician’s “One Georgia” tour made a stop at local restaurant Jarfly. The restaurant was packed with community members, leaders and politicians including Attorney Teddy Reese who is running for House District 140 seat. The seat was formerly held by Calvin Smyre, who Abrams mentioned in her remarks today. * “To hear representative Abrams, leader Abrams talk about him and the work that he did and to stand there and be inspired by it and know that the person who follows him would need to be one of the same quality one of the same character who carries the value of District 140 that was very very important for me, that was passionate for me and I knew that this was a moment in history.” -- What's this about House District 140? Has Reese any clue where District 140 is? ((Psst.. Just East of Macon/Warner Robins... Twiggs & Wilkinson Counties) The honorable Calvin Smyre served District 135 since 1974 and is moving on to the US Ambassadorship to Dominican Republic.. Oh! And shame on WRBL for not catching this District number error!

Online story: "South Carolina has given the greenlight to firing-squad executions, a method codified into state law last year after a decade-long pause in carrying out death sentences because of the state’s inability to procure lethal injection drugs.* -- Hmmm.. while definitely efficient .. and cost effective... I don't know why states who have a hard time securing lethal drugs for injections don't just ask the DOJ to furnish them some of the fentanyl-laced Oxycontin captured as it comes across our Southern border.

---
Online headline/story: "Invasive insects could kill 1.4 million street trees by 2050: report * 90% of all forecast mortality is predicted to be caused by the emerald ash borer * They wrote that the beetle is expected to kill virtually all ash trees in more than 6,000 communities." -- Hey, AOC... eat these... the rest of us will enjoy our steaks!

---
From the "this is what "WOKE" should be about!" Online headline: "Feminists protesting Lia Thomas say they are politically homeless: 'Democrats don't care about women'" -- and as soon as the REST of the Socialist-Democrat voter base realizes socialism is not "their friend", they, too, can enjoy being "WOKE" ...

---
From the "Confirmation!" department - Online headline/story: "Federal judge says Yale Law students who disrupted free speech panel should be 'noted' * Judge Lawrence Silberman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit continued: "All federal judges—and all federal judges are presumably committed to free speech — should carefully consider whether any student so identified should be disqualified from potential clerkships." -- Wow! I think I'll add this judge to my blog e-mail list! Before his comments came out, I had published the following last Friday: "Good grief! Practicing law is about defending the Constitutional rights of private citizens, not curtailing them! Every Yale Law current student involved should be "blacklisted" from ever being a federal court nominee or judge.. and all future students of the existing Yale Law professors should also be add to this list...

Online headline/story: Frequented area of Columbus RiverWalk closing for 9 months * Along with getting ahead of the erosion issue, the goal is to create a space where locals and visitors can come to watch kayakers and whitewater rafters on the world class rapids and enjoy the views of the Chattahoochee River." -- Hmmm... let's see.. the RiverWalk will be closed to people, but open to relocating Kadie the Cow.. In other words, taxpayers are not only losing access to the River for 9 months but we are losing access to many millions of property tax dollars for 10 years due to T.A.D. projects along the RiverWalk... and the with "stadium seats" added, no doubt city and event officials will have a "roped off" area that unconnected taxpayers will be restricted from using for events...

---
Online headline/story: "Coro Realty Sells Cross Country Plaza for $42.6 Million * Coro Realty, the Atlanta-based, diversified real estate company, purchased Cross Country Plaza in 2013" -- Interesting... but what's even more interesting is why the Muscogee County School Board hasn't sold what may be the most valuable piece of property.. about 44 acres... in North Columbus which it uses as a school bus parking lot and maintenance compound.

---
Online headline: "Victor Davis Hanson predicts Biden will seal the southern border under these 2 conditions" -- Hmmm... My bet is that the ONLY reason Resident Biden would do such would be the Rio Grande has frozen over...

---
Speaking of Hunter Biden...Hmmm... It's been about 6 months ... but we don't know how many of paintings by Hunter Biden were bought... especially by China.

---
Online headline: "George W. Bush and Bill Clinton visit Ukrainian church to lay flowers, pay respects" -- Aside from this happening in Shicago...Question: What we're Bush and Clinton doing in Shicago.. at the same time... and without Laura and Hellary?

---
Online headline: "U.S. House passes ‘CROWN Act’ that prohibits race-based hair discrimination " -- Good grief! Is this the best our elected officials can do with their time?
---
From the "sad... to even sadder" department - Online headline/story: "White teen seen on video throwing cotton, whipping Black student charged * HOUMA, La. — A 15-year-old ninth-grader was arrested and charged with a hate crime this week in connection with a racist bullying incident at a Catholic high school in Louisiana, authorities said. * A video of the incident surfaced on social media March 9 showing a white male student throwing cotton at a Black male student who is seated in the cafeteria. The white student then whips the Black student with what appears to be a small belt." -- It's sad that anything like this can still happens in 2022... but it's even sadder when MainStreamMedia reports... portrays... it like it's how the bulk of society acts...

---
Online story: "During a two-hour call Friday morning, President Biden warned Chinese President Xi Jinping that supporting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine would have severe consequences for Beijing, according to White House officials. * the two leaders spent the preponderance of their time discussing Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine.”" -- Good grief! if the "two leaders" discussed "Russia's unprovoked and unjustified invasion" for the "preponderance" of 2 hours.. Xi and Biden ARE NOT ON THE SAME PAGE! My bet is that Biden spent most of the 2 hours begging Xi not to talk about Biden family interests in China..

---
Want to expand on a comment made Friday: Trump may have hurt your feelings... but Biden is hurting your family, finances and freedom.... and FUTURE!

Online story: "ATLANTA (WRDW/WAGT) - Gov. Brian P. Kemp on Friday signed House Bill 304 to temporarily suspend the state’s excise tax on motor fuel sales. * Georgia’s gas tax is 29 cents a gallon for gasoline. For diesel, the state tax is almost 33 cents a gallon. * The law is now in effect and will remain in place through May 31." -- Well, I certainly didn't see any stations rush to lower prices on Friday... The Shell station on Williams Road off I-185 had not lowered there's one-cant as of Saturday AM, and it's price was $5.299 for premium ...Hey! Williams Rd Shell.. we're in GA not CA!
