On Mondays, I get a "City Crime Report"  from MotorolaSolutions.com with an update of "all" the crimes reported by the Columbus GA Police Department.. We hear about how our violent crimes "are down" and local media blindly reports it that way, too... but.. sometimes it's reports are "slightly tainted". As this graphic below shows, a young 22 year old woman was brutally stabbed to death in her apartment off Williams Road.. When the police arrived, she was already deceased...yet this was recorded simply as an "Assault"..Guess the CPD likes to sugar-coat things.

Just recently, DemoKKKrat Senator Jon Ossoff of GA announced his 1st Quarter donations received as over $11 MILLION dollars, 0f which 90% of the money came from out-of-state sources. Through 2024, the Top 100 Ossoff donor sources are listed: 

 
11 of such were from California education and State totaling  $1,264,200.

 In other words, California sent over $1,200,000 to Ossoff rather than directly helping it's education system, Guess California figure Ossoff would help direct MORE tax dollars back to California if they owned him..

 Even worse is 7 "donor sources" are from Federal agencies.. Yes, the DOJ, US Army, the EPA, US Department of Veteran Affairs, the US Postal Service, the DOD, and various US Government official contributed $710,000.00. While these numbers don't appear to be "huge" compared to figures we often hear, you have to remember this nearly $2,000,000.00 is going to 1 Senator and does not count what goes to the other 99 Senators or 535 Congressperson, 49 states, nor the Presidential races.

 Donations by basically government paid Education and Government employees need to be eliminated to any candidate that has a say-so in the donor's salary/income, I also think Local government employees and their families should not be able to vote for City Council or Mayoral candidates, and School employees and their families should not be able to vote for School board members nor their District Legislators.. Remember City and School system employees’ salaries are affected by decisions of those elected officials.

When did the "Soap Box Derby" return to Columbus, GA... and why did I only learn about it Saturday morning as I went to Lakebottom Park to watch a Little League baseball game? It was conducted on the 17th Street hill by Columbus High (and before that, at the permanent Soap Box Derby site at the old Pioneer Little League area now occupied by a Walmart) ...I remember when it was hosted on 17th Street many years ago, but was moved to the Schomburg and Blackmon Rds "connector" for a few years .. and then it disappeared.. You know, it was sad when all the "race  cars" became molded body, commercial kits that.. other than Commercial Sponsor Decals... all look alike... I remember when entries "vehicles" were made from scratch (other than the wheels, size/weight limitations, and safety instructions) and  basically, were father/son projects that helped families bond.. Sadly, I don't who was "sponsoring" the races because traffic barriers blocked passing traffic from getting close enough to see, but "Thanks!" to whichever group sponsored it...Oh! Next year, how about more pre-event publicity...

Was watching a jewelers ad, and it was extolling the value of  "Lab  Grown diamonds".  I resent the term "Lab Grown diamonds"... In the past, these were referred to as "paste", "fake", "simulated" or "costume" which are a lot closer to reality than "Lab Grown".
