Media focus is so baffling... take this past week or so...right here in "River (Columbus GA) City" for example ... there were a couple of "protests" about minuscule issues where 1 or 2 dozen "protesters" called the media and local media flocked to the sites, yet when a nearly 200 year UPtown church called them to cover a major renovation of its Activity and Gymnasium Building that attracted several hundred Columbusites, they all yawned and said this wasn't newsworthy enough for them... hmmmm...and they wonder why the community they WANT to reach keeps drifting away...

Finally... Columbus, GA Mayor Skippy the Poo speaks the truth about his "100 Acre Scam"! In a local WRBL-TV3 story, Mayor Skippy is reported to have said: " ….publically that it would have been a waste of the $50 million expenditure on the park if the development does not accompany it.” – We hear him talking about $350 Million worth of development, but.. nothing definite… but where can it go? The best areas are a space across from the Civic Center but it was recently taken of the market to build “affordable housing” (but how do you consider 1 & two bedroom apartments that cast $300,000.00 each to build  “affordable”?  The other “open places” are the cemeteries, but I don’t think even Skippy will even try to go there, and access to any small patches of land between South Commons and the Riverwalk paralleling the Chattahoochee are very restricted.. so what are his “dreams”? Oh, and don’t forget, the Oglethorpe Bridge is about to be torn down and replaced which cripples access for another couple of CRUCIAL years…anyway.. let’s just listen to him hemhaw...
